ABOUT
==============================================================================
This guide is to assist those players who enjoy collecting rare or unique
vehicles. This guide lists all known vehicles with special properties, that
are unique, and even rare vehicles which have to be unlocked through in-game
actions.

This is NOT a guide for "rare cars." Vehicles that appear rarely, but DO
appear in free roam (such as the Comet) do not qualify for the scope of this
guide. Only cars that have something special about them that is normally
unavailable are included. This includes special features, paintjobs, or being
unavailable outside of missions entirely. Vehicles such as these are a staple
of the GTA series, and this entry is no exception.

I wrote this guide with the Xbox 360 DLC version, not the PS3, PC, or Episodes
from Liberty City versions. I have since checked it in the 360 EfLC version as
well, but if you notice a difference, such as a particular strategy or glitch
not working, contact me and let me know. Be sure to mention which version
you're playing!

Saves are fully compatible between both the DLC and EfLC versions of TLAD, at
least on the Xbox 360 version.

CAUTION! This guide may inadvertently contain spoilers of story missions!
While this guide's scope does not really involve spoiling anything, due to
what is required of it, it does possess a list of mission names at the very
minimum, which may have the potential to spoil parts of the game.

*1* GLOSSARY OF TERMS
==============================================================================
This is a glossary of all the special terms used in this guide.

UJ - Unjackable. This means the vehicle cannot be stolen or driven, no matter
what or how you go about it. Now that even locked cars can be jacked by
breaking the windows, UJ means that Johnny will simply refuse to break the
windows and get in. Even if the windows are broken anyways, he still refuses
to open the doors. Obtaining vehicles with this trait usually involves
pushing the vehicle to a parking spot using another vehicle.

Beater - A rustbucket of a car. One of the rusty, falling-apart cars that
occasionally spawn, usually around lower-income areas. Common beaters include
the Emperor, Sabre, and Vigero.

Confirm - To "confirm" a car is to return to the parking spot where it was
left BEFORE continuing with the game (most notably saving and loading). Cars
parked during missions are retained in parking spots only during that game
session, as parking spots are "turned off" during missions. Confirming a
vehicle causes the game to recall the car, and as a result, store it properly
next time it is removed (when you save and load, or drive away again).
Failure to do this WILL lead to the car vanishing, even though it was in a
parking spot. This also means autosaves are worthless if a car needs to be
confirmed after a mission. Always remember to confirm vehicles stored during
a mission, whether you finished the mission successfully, or failed and need
to retry it!!!

Description - A description of unique color/feature vehicles and why they are
unique. Usually involves a unique color scheme or features that do not
normally occur on the vehicle.

Difficulty - A general summary of the relative difficulty, out of 5 stars. The
difficulty level assigned to a vehicle will be based on the easiest strategy
that requires the least of or no mission failures, deaths, arrests, and
cheats. The existence of strategies that utilize those things are usually
much easier than ones without (i.e., the difficulty of obtaining a vehicle
may be in getting it without failing a mission, possibly putting it at 3
stars, while just accepting the mission failure would make obtaining it a
1-star difficulty).
*      Car is practically (or literally) given to player during and/or after
mission, or requires very little effort with no skill or luck involved.
**     Car is readily available, but requires a little luck or a minimum of
      effort to successfully obtain.
***    Car requires some determination and manipulation of the game to
      acquire. Possibly a little luck.
****   Car is difficult to obtain, some luck may factor in, and requires a
keen knowledge of and skill at the game.
*****  Car is extremely difficult to obtain; very luck-based, requires
difficult maneuvers to succeed, such as pushing to a parking spot
      despite a wanted level.

Discovered by - This is not necessarily the first person to discover a
vehicle, but usually the first person to report it to me. I will, however,
add credit to whoever found it originally if I'm able to determine who it is.

Double-drive - Used in some vehicle strategies, it involves driving two
vehicles at once back to your safehouse. One is generally the special vehicle
you're trying to obtain, while the other is a vehicle important to the
mission that will cause failure should you venture too far from it.

This tactic entails driving one car partway towards the destination (usually
a parking spot), then getting out and driving the other a bit farther. Repeat
until you have the target vehicle in a parking spot, then proceed with the
mission. Slow, but guaranteed to work as long as you don't put too much
distance between the vehicles. You don't risk failing the mission, but rather
the vehicle you're trying for may vanish. If one vehicle is powerful enough
to push the other, you can do that instead to expedite the process.

This can also be used to obtain two vehicles at once, by double-driving both
to a parking spot. Along the same lines, it is possible to triple-drive
vehicles in any instance where there are three vehicles involved, although
this is much riskier.

EfLC - "Episodes from Liberty City." This term refers to the compilation of
both the TLAD and TBoGT DLC episodes in disc form, available as a stand-alone
game. These are specifically NOT DLC, do NOT require the GTAIV disc, and
cannot "blend" the radio content from GTAIV with their own. EfLC's TLAD
contains map upgrades added in TBoGT, and is incompatible with the DLC
version's multiplayer.

Fire Truck Trick - A trick for moving UJ vehicles, described in detail in
section 1.3 of this guide.

Formulated by - This is who informed me of the strategy to obtain the vehicle.
Vehicles that were pointed out to me, but where I was given no strategy to
obtain it often lead to me developing the strategy, although most will have
the same entry for Discovered and Formulated by.

NOTE: Vehicles that are given to you or are made very obviously available are
not given strategy credit, primarily because they are too simple to even call
a strategy. "Get inside and drive to a parking spot" really isn't deserving
of credit.

GTAIV - References to GTAIV refer specifically to the main game and storyline
of GTAIV itself, with Niko as the player character. For the purposes of this
guide, it is considered a completely separate game from both the TLAD and
TBoGT DLC episodes.

Hybrid Grill - A specialized term to refer to some PMP 600s in a few missions
that have a special "hybrid" style grill not seen with other PMP 600s. It is
called hybrid because it's a cross between the normal grill (with vertical
bars), and the "Mafia" PMP 600 grill (a few vertical bars with mesh behind
them). The hybrid grill has a lot of vertical bars and the mesh backing. So
far, the PMP 600 is the only vehicle known to have a completely different
grill used only in story mission vehicles.

Jack - Slang term for stealing a car. Given that the game's name does involve
the crime of vehicle theft, it is a commonly used term in the guide. The vast
majority of vehicles that will be used during the game will be stolen or used
without explicit permission of the owner.

Luster - Lustered vehicles are vehicles with a "luster" to them. A luster is a
secondary color that can only be seen well in certain light. The vehicles
with lusters are predominantly black, but some are silver, and a select few
are other colors. The best light for viewing lusters is different depending
on the base color. Black is best between 11am and 3pm, while white/silver
lusters are best seen in twilight (dawn or dusk). Direct sunlight between
11am and 3pm often drowns out white/silver cars' lusters entirely. Generally,
the lighter the base color, the closer to twilight it should be viewed at.

Mission replay checkpoint - Denotes the point in the mission where the most
recent checkpoint exists that allows for obtaining a vehicle. See section 1.1
for more information about this feature.

Rare - An "unlockable" vehicle. My official definition is a vehicle that
cannot be obtained at the start of the game, but can be obtained infinitely
without exception at the end of the game. They are still special, but not as
special as others.

Tuner - A "tuner" car is a special modified version of the vehicle, usually
adding spoilers and other after-market modifications. These cars usually come
in only one color. They still have the same name as the base vehicle, so a
tuner Sentinel is still labeled "Sentinel" in the game. A lot of tuner cars
in this game are NOT actually unique, but can be found randomly on the street
(albeit rare at times), and thus will not be included in this guide unless
otherwise warranted.

Unique - This vehicle has a unique name displayed and is found in story
missions only, or other limited availability missions, and thus can be
permanently missed on a playthrough if not obtained when the chance is
available.

Unlockable - Denotes a vehicle that is only infinitely available either
through story missions and/or by unlocking it at some point through the
story, whether by completing a mission, finishing a side mission, or even a
vehicle that is only available during a side mission, but is repeatedly
available by doing the mission over and over at your leisure. These vehicles
cannot be missed permanently.

Unobtainable - A vehicle that cannot be either obtained or permanently stored
for various reasons.

NOTE: During some missions, AI drivers that you chase are given "super"
stats: speed, acceleration, turning, etc., designed to ensure that you cannot
catch up to them until the game deems it okay (usually involves the target
reaching their destination intact). If you are in danger of catching up or
passing them (or if you take a shortcut to do so), they hyper-accelerate to
stay in the lead. They also tend to slow down and "wait" for you if you fall
too far behind, although they never stop completely. This goes along with the
fact such chases are usually scripted.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.1 - MISSION REPLAY TEXTS AND CHECKPOINTS
------------------------------------------------------------------------
When a mission is failed, it will automatically send a text message to the
phone, prompting you to replay the mission. What initially seems like a small
convenience can actually be a much larger help (especially to people who don't
mind mission failures on their stats page).

These texts often include checkpoints within a mission that will cut out
segments of the mission. These are akin to the "trip skip" feature that GTA:SA
included for a few missions, cutting out long driving sequences or other
pointless parts of the mission. Note that these checkpoints are ONLY available
via the replay text. Returning to the mission start marker will start the
mission from the very beginning.

In turn, these checkpoints will often be placed at the start of some action
sequence or other significant mission content. That is where special vehicles
are usually introduced and available to take, so these checkpoints can be
exploited to rapidly provide access to these vehicles, especially ones that
are difficult to reliably obtain.

In addition, lustered vehicles in a mission will have their luster randomized
when the checkpoint is used, just the same as starting the mission over
entirely. This can make many lustered vehicles very easy to get in a specific
color. In some rare instances, even established vehicles in a given mission
will be randomized, leading to an important vehicle suddenly having a
different luster than it did earlier in the mission.

Vehicles that benefit from a particular checkpoint within the mission will
have the "Mission replay checkpoint: field listed in their bio. Vehicles
without this entry will not have this field at all (even blank). In general,
always use the mission replay text instead of returning to the mission start
marker, as there will often be a checkpoint that will help, and even if there
isn't, it is usually faster.

Always be sure to go and confirm any vehicles you stored in a parking spot
during a mission, whether you pass or fail the mission. Do this before
accepting a mission replay text, especially if that text will start you at a
checkpoint after the point in the mission where the vehicle appears, as it may
be unobtainable after that point.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.2 - USING COPS TO TRANSPORT UNJACKABLE CARS
------------------------------------------------------------------------
This strategy is courtesy of GTA Phreak. It entails getting cops to jack UJ
vehicles and "transport" them for you. Cops aren't bound by the unjackable
attribute some special vehicles have, making them an exploitable method to get
difficult vehicles long distances.

GTA Phreak writes the following:

""-----------------------------------------
USING COPS TO DRIVE UNJACKABLE CARS
In general the cops will chase your vehicle on foot as long as you're very
close. When you get a certain distance away from the cop he will stop chasing
you and head for the nearest vehicle (the effect is clearly visible if you
observe him while slowly pulling away).

They don't seem to prefer parked cars over stopped and still occupied cars,
but they will backtrack away from you if there's a car behind them. Cops in
cars will chase your vehicle and try to ram you regardless of what their car
(or bike) is. Beware that only real police cars are marked on radar. They will
leave their car if it gets flipped, catches fire or gets stuck for a prolonged
time. They will also exit their car if you exit your vehicle near them or you
get stuck for a prolonged time near them. Their car will not disappear as long
as there are cops in it, even if left out of sight. There's a more general
police unspawning effect that can remove them if you move very far away
(several blocks).

Getting your unjackable car transported by the cops is all about manipulating
the above to your advantage.

To get cops into the vehicle, get a wanted level (or dial 911-1) and
preferably jack the first police car that arrives at the scene. That will
leave cops on foot and you will be driving a vehicle. Drive back and forth
past the vehicle you want transported, - just beyond the distance where
they'll give up chasing you on foot, while keeping the target vehicle in
sight.

Once they're in the vehicle lead them away, they will chase you relentlessly.
In this phase you cannot leave your vehicle or get stuck near the vehicle
being transported, if you do the cops will abandon their vehicle. If you have
to change car you need to do it far enough away so that they'll still prefer
driving after you (I'm not sure how far that is, I never had to swap vehicle).
You can't really control if they flip the vehicle or damage it so much that it
catches fire. But avoid starting fires they can get caught in. If they get
stuck, double back, and if possible lead them off in a different direction
(use the situation to temporarily lose as many of the other pursuers as
possible).

Once you're getting close to your parking space allow the transported vehicle
to close up and to start ramming you. You want it to ram you from within your
parking space, with your own vehicle blocking right next to the space. Once
the target vehicle is within the space, exit. That will cause the cop driving
the transported vehicle to exit as well and start chasing you on foot. The
reaction is almost instant, so it isn't difficult to achieve.

Although your target vehicle most likely isn't equipped with a shotgun, all
other cops you dragged along will also exit their police cars, and they will
have shotguns, so don't linger. Either sprint inside your safehouse and
save/sleep off the wanted level or sprint down the street and grab a different
vehicle (possibly one you had parked earlier and rammed a bit down the
street). You need it to be a bit down the street, otherwise you could get the
target vehicle re-jacked. Leave the area as fast as possible, allowing the
parking space to store the target vehicle before the cops can mess with it.

Keep in mind, the mission must NOT be active to accomplish this! Cops won't
touch cars "marked" as part of the mission, so the mission must be inactive
(pass or fail) to pull this off.
""-----------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.3 - THE FIRE TRUCK TRICK
------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a simple strategy that makes obtaining some UJ vehicles much easier,
and works as an alternative to the above strategy of using cops to transport
UJ vehicles.

Once you're free to push a UJ vehicle that needs moving, call 911 and request
a Fire Truck. Jack the truck when it arrives. Not only is it a powerful
pushing vehicle, but its water cannon can put out cars that are on fire. This
will prevent them from exploding, although they will still be damaged enough
that just a little more damage will set them back on fire. In addition, the
water cannon can push lighter vehicles

The only danger is that hitting people or vehicles with the water cannon will
incur a 1-star wanted level if a cop sees it, so use this strategy carefully.

Strategy is courtesy of thekosmicfool and fiis.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.4 - DEATH: THE EASIEST STRATEGY OF ALL
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hardly an "advanced" strategy, this is nonetheless an essential strategy to
make known. Almost any vehicle in the game can easily be obtained by parking
it in a parking spot (whether driven or pushed there), then just killing
Johnny or getting him busted. When he respawns, the vehicle will be waiting in
the parking spot, as any mission that was in progress will have been failed.

Given that this strategy accumulates deaths (and often, mission failures) on
Johnny's stats record, it may not be for everyone, but it is a general all-
purpose strategy that can be used on many vehicles. The only time when I will
specifically refer to dying or being busted as a strategy throughout this
guide will be when it is the only option that works for obtaining a vehicle.
Anything else more complicated than "get in vehicle and drive to a parking
spot" can be assumed to have putting it in a parking spot and killing yourself
be a viable alternative.

==============================================================================
*2* SAFEHOUSES AND PARKING SPOTS
==============================================================================
These are places to store your vehicles. Whenever a parking spot is loaded
into the game's memory, the vehicles therein are restored to top condition and
health. Even destroyed vehicles will be repaired, so long as you get the
carcass of the vehicle into the spot. Even helicopters and boats may be saved
in parking spots. Each spot can hold two vehicles maximum. More than two cars
CAN be stored in a parking spot on a temporary basis, however. It will retain
3+ cars normally, however whenever you save and reload the game, you will find
only two cars remaining, chosen randomly from any that were "in the space" at
the time of saving.

Parking spots are ALWAYS available, even if you do not own the safehouse yet,
or have lost it via story progression. This includes Niko's old parking spots
from safehouses in GTAIV that are never available in TLAD.

Always remember to confirm vehicles stored during a mission, whether you
finished the mission successfully, or failed and need to retry it.

The total amount of vehicle storage available is 14 (7 parking spots).

----------------------------

"The Lost" Clubhouse, Berners Rd., Acter (Alderney)
-Unlocked after ...Clean and Serene, lost after Get Lost

Brian's House, Hardtack Ave., Tudor (Alderney)
-Unlocked after Bad Standing

Roman's Apartment, Mohawk Ave., Hove Beach (Broker)
-Parking Spot ONLY

Mallorie's Apartment, Joliet St., South Bohan (Bohan)
-Parking Spot ONLY

Roman's New Apartment, Albany Ave., Middle Park East (Algonquin)
-Parking Spot ONLY

Playboy X's Mansion, Xenotime St., Northwood (Algonquin)
-Parking Spot ONLY

Ray's Apartment, Mahesh Ave., Alderney City (Alderney)
-Parking Spot ONLY

----------------------------

Motorcycles in parking spots have a particular behavior which can be
troublesome for extended storage. Every time the motorcycle is "loaded" into
the game world, it repositions it based on the "center" of the vehicle's
actual position, NOT on where it touches the ground. This means that every
time it is loaded, it spawns a little bit farther in whichever direction it is
leaning.

If leaning towards the curb, it will eventually reach the curb, and from then
on simply load while sitting against it. This is the position you want the
motorcycle to be in, as it will last indefinitely. However, if it leans
towards the street, it will continue creeping closer and closer, until it
finally is spawned IN the street, outside of the parking spot, and thus will
vanish for good once you leave the area. Always make sure motorcycles lean
towards the curb.

----------------------------

Some quirks parking spots have:
South Bohan: If an obstacle is placed correctly on the road near the parking
spot, cars driving down the road often swerve directly into the spot,
displacing any vehicles there. This can get so bad that you cannot leave
without losing a car, because anytime you re-park the cars, another will
knock them out before you can leave. Be very careful about this!

Middle Park East: If you take a taxi to either the safehouse's icon, or to a
waypoint set to the icon, it will park in the middle of the parking spot,
displacing your existing cars. This is especially bad if you trip skip.

==============================================================================
*3* UNIQUE VEHICLES
==============================================================================
These vehicles only appear during story missions, and once the game is
completed, cannot be acquired without cheating.

Always remember to confirm vehicles stored during a mission, whether you
finished the mission successfully, or failed and need to retry it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.1 - Prison Bus (1st of 2)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Off Route (Tom Stubbs)
Difficulty: **
Mission failure? YES
Discovered by: gtalcvcsa (GameFAQs boards)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission replay checkpoint: Outside the police station parking lot where the
Prison Bus is parked. Allows another chance to obtain it if the previous
one didn't stay in the parking spot.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: This is the large bus you must capture during the mission. Acquiring
it, however, is somewhat difficult. The best way to go about it (short of
killing yourself with it in a parking spot) is to park it where you want to
store it. Once safely in the parking spot, destroy the bus. It seems very
damage-resistant, so use explosives if possible. Once it is either blown up or
on fire from damage, the mission will fail for destroying the bus. At this
point, activate the mission replay text that is sent.

This will immediately begin the mission again, and place you at a checkpoint
right before stealing the Prison Bus, right outside the police station. Steal
the bus again and go check if the previous Prison Bus was saved properly. If
it was, continue and complete the mission. If it was not, simply destroy the
bus you're currently driving, and try again. Couldn't be easier.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.2 - Laundromat
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: End of Chapter (Jim Fitzgerald)
Difficulty: ***
Mission failure? No
Discovered by: Lancet Jades

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission replay checkpoint: At the start of the battle with Brian's forces at
the docks. Only useful if you die during the fight, or you drive off in a
Laundromat (failing the mission) and end up losing it before it can be saved.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 1: Some of Brian's backup goons drive up in these vans throughout the
mission. Acquiring one directly can be difficult. Jack one and drive it during
the chase at the end of the mission. After killing all the enemies, if you're
far enough away from Jim to get the "go to Jim" message, take the Laundromat
to a parking spot, then finish the mission and confirm it afterwards.

<<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 2: Alternatively, drive the van during the chase and just finish the
mission. Although you lose the van when teleported back to the clubhouse, you
may find a van or two driving around the streets. Pick one up and park it.
This is obviously dangerous and unreliable, so it's less of an actual strategy
and more of a lucky chance to not have to redo the mission.

<<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 3: If you don't mind failing the mission, you can just get in one and
drive away from the battle. The mission fails and you keep the Laundromat.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: This vehicle can appear randomly on the streets, but ONLY if you are
driving one yourself, or much less likely, if one was recently in the game's
memory (such as after a mission featuring it). Thus, it is still unique, as
you won't see one unless you're already driving one from a mission.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.3 - Regina
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Heavy Toll (Elizabeta Torres)
Difficulty: **
Mission failure? No
Discovered by: Flobba

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission replay checkpoint: In front of the tool booth. Only really useful if
you die or the Slamvan with the drugs is destroyed, although it can help if
all of the Reginas are somehow destroyed during the battle.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: These are the escort cars for the target Slamvan. After dispatching
all of the enemies, double-drive one of these back to the Bohan parking spot
(right off the Bohan bridge exit) with the Slamvan. Leave the Regina at the
parking spot, then finish the mission. Make surer to confirm it before saving!
This may prove somewhat difficult as there is a good chance the firefight will
attract police attention, complicating the process.

<<Formulated by: Flobba>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: This vehicle can appear randomly on the streets, but ONLY if you are
driving one yourself, or much less likely, if one was recently in the game's
memory (such as after a mission featuring it). Thus, it is still unique, as
you won't see one unless you're already driving one from a mission.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.4 - Roman's Taxi
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Roman's Holiday (Ashley Butler)
Difficulty: *
Mission failure? YES
Discovered by: Lancet Jades

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission replay checkpoint: Meeting Malc near the beginning. It will save a
little driving if you screw up keeping the taxi, or somehow get busted.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: Getting this requires some tricky dealing. After meeting up with
Malc, dial Roman's Cab number (Elizabeta texts it to you after a previous
mission; it is 555-2222), and Johnny will call for Roman to pick him up. Once
Roman arrives, Johnny will get inside automatically. Immediately get out and
kill Malc to fail the mission, then drive it to a parking spot. Do NOT kill
Roman instead! Malc will then drive off with it after the mission failure
cutscene.

<<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.5 - Lustered Black Laundromat
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Vehicle is UJ)
Mission: Get Lost (Tom Stubbs)
Difficulty: *****
Mission failure? No
Required: Extreme patience (and a pushing vehicle)
Discovered by: Lancet Jades (vehicle and luster), lol232 (color)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: What makes these Laundromats distinct from the ones in End of
Chapter and found on the streets is that these are a special black color, and
are occasionally lustered. Known lusters are Red, Green, and Blue.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission replay checkpoint: In front of the prison, right before Terry arrives
with his gun van. Although you must play through the entire prison battle each
time, this checkpoint at least cuts out a small driving segment. Additionally,
it will randomize the lusters of the Laundromat vans (keep in mind that only
the one at the front entrance can actually be obtained).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 1: This is parked in the lot at the front of the prison, inside the
front gates. There are two others further into the prison, however they are in
a fenced-in area and cannot be brought outside of it. This means only the one
at the front can be obtained. Begin by completing the mission up until Billy
is dead and The Lost are escaping the prison. Drive the Hexer out to the front
parking lot, but DO NOT leave the prison with it! Park it there, get off, and
leave on foot. Now comes the hard part.

You need a vehicle to push the Laundromat (which is UJ) back to the parking
spot at Brian's house, but you need a large truck. The Patriot is about the
smallest vehicle that can be used for this purpose, but a big truck like a
Mule or Steed is ideal. Unfortunately, the vehicles spawned parked nearby are
random, and none appear on the streets. What's more, 911 seems to not respond
if you call for a Ambulance or Fire Truck.

However, there IS a way to call a Fire Truck, which is an ideal vehicle!
Leaving the Hexer inside the prison, head to the south end of Latchkey Ave. to
the northwest. This is the eastern-most street leading south from Tudor to
Acter Industrial Park, right near the police station. Make sure the game
displays Latchkey Ave on the screen (in Tudor), then call 911 for a Fire
Truck. It should actually respond and deliver itself to you.

Once you find a vehicle to push with, drive back to the prison and begin the
long process of pushing the Laundromat out of the prison. Once it is outside
the front gate, go back inside, get on the Hexer, and leave the prison. This
will erase the wanted level, but it also means the Laundromat is no longer a
persistent vehicle, so if you lose sight of it for too long, it will vanish!

Now begin the long, grueling process of pushing the Laundromat back to the
parking spot at Brian's safehouse. This must be done while double-driving the
Hexer, as the mission will fail for abandoning the Hexer, as well. Make sure
to push with the BACK of your truck, as repeatedly ramming the target vehicle
can attract police attention, which will probably mean game over.

Once the Laundromat is safely in the parking spot at Brian's house, get back
on the Hexer and complete the mission. After the end credits roll, IMMEDIATELY
return to Brian's house to confirm the vehicle! Failing to confirm it first,
as with all such situations, will result in it vanishing if the game is saved
and loaded. Don't let this happen to you.

<<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 2: Getting both the lustered Laundromat and the Prison Bus may seem
to be impossible without failing the mission, but it's actually not that much
harder than getting just one of them. All it requires is pushing both vehicles
to the parking spot at the same time. It takes a little more than twice as
long, but it's not much harder. It's almost certainly LESS work than getting
both separately by failing the mission after getting one.

Follow the strategy for 3.6 - Prison Bus though, as you'll need a pushing
vehicle capable of pushing it due to it being heavier than the Laundromat.
Remember that you'll need to double-drive the Hexer along with the other
vehicles, or else the mission will fail!

<<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 3: Use the strategy detailed in section 1.2 - Using cops to drive UJ
cars. This requires failing the mission, but it will skip the whole pushing
process. Cops will not use these vehicles while the mission is still in
progress. You could potentially get both this and the Prison Bus at the same
time, but it could be tricky.

<<Formulated by: GTA Phreak>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: While this vehicle can appear randomly on the street (if you're driving
one, or have driven one recently), the black color and luster of this one is
unique and irreplaceable.

3.6 - Prison Bus (2nd of 2)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(Vehicle is UJ)
Mission: Get Lost (Tom Stubbs)
Difficulty: **********
Mission failure? No
Required: The patience of a god (and a pushing vehicle)
Discovered by: Lancet Jades

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission replay checkpoint: In front of the prison, right before Terry arrives
with his gun van. Although you must play through the entire prison battle each
time, this checkpoint at least cuts out a small driving segment.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 1: This is parked in the lot at the front of the prison. Begin by
completing the mission up until Billy is dead and The Lost are escaping the
prison. Drive the Hexer out to the front parking lot, but DO NOT leave the
prison with it! Park it there, get off, and leave on foot. Now comes the hard
part.

You need a vehicle to push the Prison Bus (which is UJ) back to the parking
spot at Brian's house. This will require a large truck. Unlike the Laundromat,
the weight of the Prison Bus means that medium vehicles like the Patriot are
not suited to the task. You'll need a a big truck like a Mule or Steed.
Unfortunately, the vehicles spawned parked nearby are random, and none appear
on the streets. What's more, 911 seems to not respond if you call for a
Ambulance or Fire Truck.

Acter Industrial Park, right near the police station. Make sure the game

will easily push even the Prison Bus.

Once you find a vehicle to push with, drive back to the prison and begin the
long process of pushing the Prison Bus out of the prison. Once it is outside
the front gate, go back inside, get on the Hexer, and leave the prison. This

Follow the first strategy for this vehicle, as you'll need a pushing vehicle

be simpler just to get it in Off Route.

<<Formulated by: GTA Phreak>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: The real trouble with this vehicle is you're at the game's mercy for a
vehicle to push with, as you cannot prepare one beforehand. Getting this bus

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3.7 - Bright Orange Infernus w/ black side stripe
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Knowing Me, Knowing You (Stubbs' Job)
Difficulty: *
Required: Failing the task
Discovered by: MrFloppay, Diego Wolfwood (pointed out the uniqueness)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: This Infernus has an orange color with a black stripe along
the side. The stripe is what really makes this special. Additionally, the
Infernus does NOT randomly spawn in TLAD unless already driving one. This
technically makes the Infernus a unique vehicle, as if you do not obtain one
in this mission, it cannot be obtained, period. The color of this is unique
even amongst Infernuses, and does not occur randomly.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: The only way to get this car is to fail the mission. However,
failing it seems to render the vehicle UJ and forces Johnny to get out, so
make sure to fail with it in a parking spot already. Failing this mission does
NOT count against you in your "Missions Failed" stat since it's a side mission
and not a main story mission. There is no record of the failure.

<<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: This is the same Infernus that Bernie gives to Niko later on in GTAIV.

*4* SPECIALLY COLORED/FEATURED VEHICLES
==============================================================================
These vehicles all have some special color or feature that the vehicle usually
does not have. A description will be provided in each entry detailing what
makes a particular instance of a vehicle special.

Always remember to confirm vehicles stored during a mission, whether you
finished the mission successfully, or failed and need to retry it!

4.1 - Magenta Diabolus (1st of 2)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: ...Clean and Serene (Billy Grey)
Difficulty: **
Mission failure? YES
Discovered by: Lancet Jades

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A normal Diabolus with a bright magenta color to it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: Jason drives this particular Diabolus. For those who didn't pay
attention to the opening movie, he's the one with shoulder-length smooth
black hair. Drive close to a parking spot (the Alderney parking spot for
Niko is a good option), lure his bike into it, then shoot him off. You'll
fail for killing Jason, but when you restart, the bike should still be
there. If not, just try, try again!

4.2 - Crimson Diabolus (1st of 5)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: ...Clean and Serene (Billy Grey)
Difficulty: *
Mission failure? No
Discovered by: Lancet Jades

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A normal Diabolus with a deep crimson colored body and some
yellow on the frame.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: This is Brian's Diabolus. For those who didn't pay attention to
the opening movie, he's the bald one with glasses. This one is given to you.
After the mission, three bikes are parked in the parking spot. Johnny's Hexer,
Billy's Revenant, and Brian's crimson Diabolus. Move one of the other bikes
(otherwise this one will vanish, and neither of the others are unique), and
it's already parked for you! The best bike to move is the Hexer, as it will
spawn nearby at all times anyways.

Mission: Angels in America (Billy Grey)
Difficulty: *
Mission failure? YES
Discovered by: Lancet Jades

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A normal Diabolus with a bright magenta color to it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: Jason drives this motorcycle, as expected. He is one of three bikers
to tag along with you. Simply shoot him off his bike at the start (failing the
mission), then drive it to the desired parking spot at your leisure.

4.4 - Crimson Diabolus (2nd of 5)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: It's War (Billy Grey)
Difficulty: **
Mission failure? No
Discovered by: Lancet Jades, Coen91 (discovered it is obtainable)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A normal Diabolus with a deep crimson colored body and some
yellow on the frame.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
STRATEGY: This is Brian's signature Diabolus again. The method to obtain it is
a bit complicated, yet simple. After driving to the second battle zone, park
the Hexer a ways away from Brian's Diabolus. Finish the battle, and you'll be
told to return to your bike. Instead of going to yours, run to Brian's and get
on (be sure to get to it before he does). Once on his Diabolus, drive next to
the Hexer and the mission end cutscene will play. Afterwards, you'll be on the
Hexer, but Brian's crimson Diabolus will be sitting wherever it was before the
cutscene! Get on and drive it to a parking spot.

simple: shoot him off of it (failing the mission), then drive it to a parking
spot of your choice!

4.6 - Black Yankee (redesign)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Liberty City Choppers (Jim Fitzgerald)
Difficulty: *
Mission failure? YES
Discovered by: Lancet Jades

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A black Yankee with a light blue stripe along the side of the
cab. It also has a large open wood crate back. This is a major redesign of the
existing Yankee, making this one of the more unique vehicles in TLAD.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: Jim takes you to this truck, which he plans to use to transport
stolen motorcycles. Instead of going to the mission destination, shoot and
kill Jim after you find the truck, then drive it to a parking spot. It will
vanish after finishing the mission successfully, so just bite the bullet and
make Jim bite a bullet or two right away. There are other components of this
truck that cannot be saved, listed under 5.2 - Black Yankee Redesign w/
loading ramps.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.7 - Lustered Black Schafter w/ Silver Grill
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Politics (Tom Stubbs)
Difficulty: ***
Mission failure? No
Discovered by: Coen91

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: This is a black Schafter with a silver grill and a luster.
Apparently this is the only randomly lustered vehicle in TLAD. The known
luster colors are red, blue, green, and yellow (gold).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission replay checkpoint: In front of the airport, before entering and
getting a wanted level. This one is extremely useful as it will randomize the
lusters on the cars, making it easy to obtain the luster you want.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: Three of these are in the airport, waiting to escort the elder
Stubbs. Drive into the airport, kill your target, then get inside one and
drive to a parking spot. Be careful of all the gunfire!

Alternatively, wait for Stubbs to leave the airport in the convoy, then
attack and jack one of these afterwards. Either way, take it to a parking spot
after finishing the mission.

<<Formulated by: Coen91>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: Russian gang wars contain a black Schafter with a silver grill, much
like this one. However, that one will always have a gold/yellow luster to it.
As such, it is worth trying to get a different color on this vehicle, such as
blue, green, or red, to differentiate it as much as possible (and avoid
potentially finding one with the same exact luster color as the Russian
variant).

4.8 - Sky Blue Rhapsody
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mission: Off Route (Tom Stubbs)
Difficulty: *
Mission failure? No
Discovered by: Lancet Jades

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A Rhapsody that is colored sky blue. Thrilling, I know.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: This car is provided at the start of the mission, parked across the
street from Johnny. Drive it straight to a parking spot and complete the
mission as planned, then confirm it before saving. Always remember to confirm.

4.9 - Black Diabolus
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: This Shit's Cursed (Billy Grey)
Difficulty: **
Mission failure? YES
Discovered by: lol232

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A solid black Diabolus. Both the body and the frame are black.
Maybe even darker than black...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: Brian rides this bike at the start of the mission up until the gang
reaches the plaza in Chinatown. Obtaining it is simple: just shoot Brian off
his bike at the start. The mission will fail and his bike will fall to the
ground, ready to be driven ten feet to the Clubhouse parking spot. Just be
careful not to kill him as he's leaving the alley, or the bike may end up next
to the mission start marker, forcing the mission to restart when you go to
retrieve it.

4.10 - Crimson Diabolus (4th of 5)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: This Shit's Cursed (Billy Grey)
Difficulty: **
Mission failure? YES
Discovered by: Coen91

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A normal Diabolus with a deep crimson colored body and some
yellow on the frame.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission replay checkpoint: On the roof of the plaza building. Only useful if
you accidentally lose or destroy the bike on the way back, or die during the
battle.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: Once again, this is Brian's signature motorcycle, except this time
there's a trick: he does NOT start the mission on this bike. He only rides it
at the end, when the Lost MC returns to the Clubhouse. First, complete the
mission up through the battle sequence. Then, the next time you see Brian,
shoot him off of his bike, killing him and failing the mission. Then you're
free to take the bike and drive it to a parking spot.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.11 - Gold Lustered Black Stretch
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Diamonds in the Rough (Ray Boccino)
Difficulty: ***
Mission failure? No
Discovered by: Coen91

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A black Stretch with a luster. The luster seems to always be
gold, but it is definitely a special color, and looks like a gold luster on
other lustered vehicles in both TLAD, as well as GTAIV itself.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission replay checkpoint: Starts at the beginning of the Stretch pursuit.
Only really useful if you die trying to stop the Stretch, like F_H_Nukem did.
Several times. Don't be him.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: Evan Moss rides in this Stretch during the chase in the latter half
of the mission. Safely obtaining it is a bit of a challenge, as both Evan and
the driver have an extremely high amount of health. Indiscriminate shooting
tends to destroy the car, rendering it difficult or impossible to keep. Aim
carefully to snipe out the driver once you enter Algonquin - until then, the
chase is scripted and the occupants are invincible - and after several shots,
the driver should die. Evan will get out and run away. Gun him down, collect
the diamonds, then drive the Stretch to a parking spot and finish the mission.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.12 - Black "Mafia" PMP 600 w/ hybrid grill
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Collector's Item (Ray Boccino)
Difficulty: **
Mission failure? No
Discovered by: Lancet Jades, and Swift (black) and Anderson (white)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: This is a normal looking Mafia PMP 600 (gloss black coloring, and
a small spoiler on the rear), except that it has a hybrid grill. The
description of the hybrid grill can be found in the list of terms in an
earlier section.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission replay checkpoint: After beginning the firefight in the Libertonian
museum. This checkpoint is only useful if you fail to acquire this vehicle
in the battle after exiting the museum (possibly by destroying all of the
enemies' cars), or if you die after leaving the museum.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: These cars (the white and black PMP 600s with hybrid grills) are
scattered around the museum during the mission. Later in the mission, they are
used by the Mafia in pursuit of both Niko and Johnny. You can jack one and
take it to a parking spot at any time, whether before or after exiting the
museum. However, some are flagged to be used in the pursuit, and if you choose
one of those, it will vanish from the parking spot once you exit the museum.
It is imperative you check any cars you take from this mission BEFORE
finishing, just in case this happened.

There will be several black PMP 600s parked outside after exiting the museum.
It is very easy to kill the Mafia soldiers nearby, jack one, and drive it to
a parking spot (preferably Middle Park East, or Xenotime St. if absolutely
necessary), then finish the mission. You could even finish the mission in the
car and then park it. This strategy, combined with a particular "safe" white
PMP 600 below (4.13), makes getting both cars quite simple and foolproof.

<<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.13 - White "Mafia" PMP 600 w/ hybrid grill
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Collector's Item (Ray Boccino)
Difficulty: **
Mission failure? No
Discovered by: Swift (black) and Anderson (white)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: This is the same as the Black "Mafia" PMP 600 with hybrid
grill, except that it is gloss white instead of black. This makes it an
all-around better prize.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: These cars (the white and black PMP 600s with hybrid grills) are
scattered around the museum during the mission.

The white PMP 600 behind the east stairs of the museum (to the north of those
stairs) is NOT used by assailants, and can be taken to a parking spot
immediately. However, you will still need to confirm it after the mission.
This combines well with the strategy for the black PMP 600 (4.12), allowing an
easy acquisition of both vehicles without any mission failures.

4.14 - Zombie w/ black-rimmed tires
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Collector's Item (Ray Boccino)
Difficulty: *
Mission failure? YES
Discovered by: Coen91

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: This is a dark gray Zombie with the tribal pattern on the fuel
tank. That's nothing special. But the tires have a solid black rim around the
inside. Normal Zombies have a very noticeable white rim, while the special
Lost gang Zombies have a red rim. A subtle, but very interesting difference.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission replay checkpoint: After beginning the firefight in the Libertonian
museum. This checkpoint is only useful if you fail to get this vehicle into a
parking spot, since it is not UJ and not terribly difficult to obtain. It will
save you a little time, at least.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: This is parked in the alley at the very end of the mission, when you
are delivering the money to Jim. This is alongside Jim's Zombie (with the red
rims). To obtain it, carefully and slowly approach the bikers, then shoot one.
This will fail the mission for attacking your fellow bikers. Proceed to get on
the Zombie (make sure to get on the correct one!) and drive to a parking spot.

4.15 - Bright Red Turismo
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Dave Grossman random encounter
Difficulty: **
Required: Failing the task
Discovered by: Coen91

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A bright red Turismo. It looks similar to normal red Turismos,
but the color is a bit brighter. This car seems to have a subtle white luster,
whereas normal Turismos have a yellow luster or no luster at all.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: This is the car driven by the target lawyer during the mission. Once
he tries to flee, follow him, but DO NOT attack him. Completing the mission as
normal will cause the car to disappear. Keep following him until he arrives at
his house in Alderney. Once he arrives, he will leave his car and flee. You
will fail the mission (which does NOT count as a Mission Failure on your stats
screen), but the car will remain in front of his house.

Unfortunately, the car is UJ so you will have to push it to a parking spot;
Niko's Alderney parking spot is the best option. Consider calling for a Fire
Truck or Ambulance via 911 to help. Once the car is in the parking spot, drive
a few blocks away. When you return, it will be restored and no longer UJ. You
can either leave it there or take it to a different parking spot.

Description: A normal Diabolus with a deep crimson colored body and some
yellow on the frame.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 1: This bike is present with Brian before the mission even starts.
Aim a gun at Brian to scare him away, and take it to a parking spot.

Alternatively, finish the mission and it will be in the parking lot after the
battle. Take it to a parking spot then. Either option works fine.

4.17 - Green and Yellow Bati 800
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Malc random encounter (first)
Difficulty: *
Discovered by: Floris Ferwerda

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: This is a green Bati 800 with a yellow midsection, a unique
color combination for the motorcycle.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 1: To obtain this vehicle and the other two motorcycles from this
mission, finish the mission and triple-drive the three to a parking spot. This
is difficult, but there's no rush. Slow and steady wins this race. For more
information on getting the two other motorcycles in this mission, see vehicles
4.18 and 4.19.

<<Formulated by: Floris Ferwerda>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 2: Alternatively, finish the mission and take it there afterwards.
Some failing may be necessary to easily get this and the other two bikes
from the mission though. Fortunately, random encounters don't count towards
the "Missions Failed" statistic.

<<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 3: This bike is provided for you at the start of the mission. Just
attack Malc at the start to fail, then take it to a parking spot. This is the
easiest way to keep this, and also makes the red and blue motorcycles easier
to get, especially as random encounters don't count towards the "Missions
Failed" statistic.

4.18 - Red Wolfsbane
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Malc first random encounter
Difficulty: *
Discovered by: Lancet Jades

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A bright red Wolfsbane motorcycle. This is not a normal color for
the vehicle (which is itself already rare).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 1: Several of these red bikes are at the location of the gunfight.
After finishing the mission, you can easily drive one back to a parking spot.

To get both the red and blue bikes, either double-drive them back to a parking
spot after the mission or reach the gunfight and drive away with one bike
(failing the mission). Leave it at a parking spot, then start again and claim
the other one after finishing the mission. Failing this mission will NOT count
against you in the "Missions Failed" statistic, so don't fear the failure.

<<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>

----------------------------
STRATEGY 2: This can also be triple-driven back to a parking spot with the
Bati 800 from the start and the blue Nightblade. This is difficult, but
there's no rush. Slow and steady wins this race.

Description: A deep blue Nightblade motorcycle. This is not a normal color for
the vehicle (which is itself already rare).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 1: Several of these blue bikes are at the location of the gunfight.
After finishing the mission, you can easily drive one back to a parking spot.

To get both the red and blue versions, either double-drive them back to a
parking spot after the mission or reach the gunfight and drive away with one
bike (failing the mission). Leave it at a parking spot, then start again and
claim the other one after finishing the mission. Failing this mission will
NOT count against you in the "Missions Failed" statistic, so don't fear the
failure.

<<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 2: This can also be triple-driven back to a parking spot with the
Bati 800 from the start and the red Wolfsbane. This is difficult, but there's
no rush. Slow and steady wins this race.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.20 - Black Huntley Sport
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: First Impressions (Stubbs' Dirty Laundry)
Difficulty: *
Discovered by: Lancet Jades

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A plain black Huntley Sport. No luster, apparently, but it's a
unique color. nonetheless.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: Jack it outside the cafe and take it to a parking spot (preferably
Niko's Middle Park East spot). The targets will then usually follow in the
Oracle, so both vehicles are quite easy to obtain at the same time.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.21 - Light Blue Habanero
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Phone Ho! (Stubbs' Dirty Laundry)
Difficulty: **
Discovered by: Coen91

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A light blue Habanero. The shade of blue looks very vaguely
metallic, and is unique to this vehicle.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 1: Once it appears, jump down to the car and shoot the driver. This
will fail the mission, but is the easiest way. Failing this mission does NOT
count against your "Missions Failed" statistic, so don't be afraid of taking
the easy way out on this vehicle.

<<Formulated by: Coen91>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 2: You can jack this car normally, then also acquire the bright red
Cognoscenti (4.22). Follow the strategy detailed in 4.23, then double-drive
both vehicles back to a parking spot.

<<Formulated by: Coen91>>
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.22 - Bright Red Cognoscenti
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Phone Ho! (Stubbs' Dirty Laundry)
Difficulty: **
Discovered by: MrFloppay

----------------------------
Description: This is a bright, solid red Cognoscenti. Nothing too amazing or
wonderful, just a nice-looking car.

----------------------------
STRATEGY: This car is driven by the politician that Johnny is tasked with
spying on. Once the politician shows up, take the blackmail picture, then send
it. This will successfully pass the mission (the Mission End fanfare plays).
Once that happens, jump off of the roof and shoot the driver of the car. Get
inside and drive to a parking spot.

This can be combined with the above car, the light blue Habanero (4.21) by
double-driving both cars back to a parking spot.

<<Formulated by: Lancet Jades, Coen91>>
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4.23 - Dukes w/ missing hood scoop
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Communication Breakdown (Stubbs' Dirty Laundry)
Difficulty: **
Discovered by: Lancet Jades

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A normal-looking Dukes with a missing hood scoop. This seems to
be a glitch of sorts, as the engine parts under where the scoop should be are
blurry and lower-res, like the general texture of car engines in the game. The
other features of the car, such as the small rear spoiler and the color, are
random.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY: This is the car driven by the target. After the cutscene, he begins
driving away. However, Johnny will be right next to it, so whip out a gun and
shoot him dead. He should die within a couple seconds, before he can drive any
distance away. Just take the car afterwards and drive it to a parking spot.

<<Formulated by: Lancet Jades>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: This car does not always spawn with the hood scoop missing! It seems to
only appear if the Dukes would've spawned with a hood scoop. Sometimes it
spawns without one entirely, which renders this non-special.

==============================================================================
*5* UNOBTAINABLE SPECIAL VEHICLES
==============================================================================
These vehicles cannot be obtained and kept for whatever reason is listed. This
can include any vehicle type from the previous three sections, but as they
cannot be acquired permanently, they do not belong in those sections.

Keep in mind that the key attribute with unobtainable vehicles is retaining
them; some of these can be temporarily obtained and used, but they cannot be
permanently stored for some reason.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.1 - Black Yankee (redesign) w/ loading ramps
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Liberty City Choppers (Jim Fitzgerald)
Discovered by: Lancet Jades

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A black Yankee with a light blue stripe along the side of the
cab. It also has a large open wood crate back. This back is unique to this
particular Yankee. This also has a loading ramp in the back, used to load
the bikes onto the truck during the mission.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unobtainable: Although the truck itself IS obtainable, the version with the
loading ramp is not, as the ramp vanishes once a vehicle is saved. Even though
it still exists in the parking spot, as soon as the vehicle is removed from
active memory (by loading a game or going too far away), when you return, the
ramp will have vanished.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.2 - Auto-revving Double T Custom
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mission: Malc second random encounter
Discovered by: dmx646827969

----------------------------
Description: This is a randomly-colored Double T Custom that automatically
revs itself every few seconds, even when idle. The revving is a sound effect
only, not producing any actual effect. This is the bike Malc is working on at
the start of the mission. Aiming a gun at him will scare him off (before
starting the mission, otherwise the bike is UJ). You can then get on and drive
it.

----------------------------
Unobtainable: Saving it at a parking spot removes the auto-revving, which is
the only thing making this vehicle special.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

==============================================================================
*6* RARE VEHICLES
==============================================================================
These vehicles aren't anything inherently special and limited to missions, but
nonetheless have some unique quality worth noting. These often require some
action to "unlock" them to be available, such as completion of a mission or
side mission to unlock. The defining trait of this class of special vehicle is
that they can all be obtained at the end of the game without any problem, but
NOT the beginning.

Always remember to confirm vehicles stored during a mission, whether you
finished the mission successfully, or failed and need to retry it!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.1 - Blue Diabolus
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlocked: When Terry is available as a friend.
Found: Terry drives this whenever he appears in a mission, as backup, or as a
friend. After going out, you can get on his bike instead of your own, and keep
it without incurring a loss in friendship or respect.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A chopper, somewhat resembling a modified Hellfury. It's a decent
motorcycle overall. This particular bike has a flat blue color.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.2 - Purple Diabolus
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlocked: When Clay is available as a friend.
Found: Clay drives this whenever he appears in a mission, as backup, or as a
friend. After going out, you can get on his bike instead of your own, and keep
it without incurring a loss in friendship or respect.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A chopper, somewhat resembling a modified Hellfury. It's a decent
motorcycle overall. This particular bike has a flat bluish-purple color.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.3 - Police Maverick
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlocked: Available from start of game, but difficult to obtain.
Found: Shows up as chopper support at 3 and 4 stars (Annihilators replace it
at 5 and 6 stars).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 1: Fly to the rooftop of the Libertonian Museum. Once on the top,
shoot at the police and get a wanted level. When the chopper comes, position
yourself near the edge of the roof so the chopper hovers low over rooftop.
When it is low enough, snipe the pilot! If done correctly, the heli will
crash, spin a little, then remain there. Kill the NOOSE agents that emerge and
take the chopper! This is much easier than forcing it to crash, and does much
less damage with a higher rate of success.

<<Formulated by: Pepe>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 2: Sniping the pilot of the helicopter causes it to fall to the
ground. This will often result in the chopper being available to jack without
much trouble, as the blades and tail will usually survive the drop. This
strategy works almost anywhere, so long as the heli isn't too high up in the
air.

<<Formulated by: spnosrs>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A police version of the normal Maverick. It has a white and blue
paintjob, similar to other police vehicles, and sadly, no radio.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.4 - Annihilator
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlocked (1): Available from start of game, but difficult to obtain.
Found (1): Shows up as chopper support at 5 and 6 stars. The strategies below
all detail how to obtain it in this way.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlocked (2): Use the Annihilator spawn cheat (call 359-555-0100).
Found (2): Right next to you after using the cheat. This counts as a cheat and
increments your "Times cheated" stat by 1, along with adding the cheat to the
cheat menu in your phone.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 1: Courtesy of EKGene, a way to obtain an Annihilator at any time!
This requires a lot of luck, and can be irritating, although not terribly
difficult if luck is on your side. (but impossible if it is not)

First of all, head to a helipad with a Maverick (atop the Booth Tunnel is
recommended). Once there, start building up a wanted level. Five stars is the
goal, and try to do it in relative safety, away from the north side of
Alderney (north of the highway). Once you have five stars, fly the helicopter
to the parking garage in northern Alderney (it is slightly northwest of the
police station. After reaching the garage, land on the roof and prepare for
what is about to come. First, take out any Police Mavericks bothering you by
either sniping the pilot, using the rocket launcher, or killing the gunmen on
each side. Now is the moment of truth.

Run around the garage's roof, trying to lure one of the two Annihilators that
will pursue close to the ground. This may require making a circuit around both
levels of the roof to get the Annihilators into the proper formation. Keep in
mind you are also on a timer, since cops on the ground will be ascending the
garage to get to you. Although they can be fought off, letting them gather
will deplete your armor and health quickly.

Once an Annihilator is close enough and the pilot is in view, get your sniper
rifle and snipe the pilot! The heli will spin down to the ground. If it was
too high, it will explode in impact. If that happens, try again.

If it doesn't explode, it will continue to spin on the ground. Normally this
makes obtaining it impossible, as you cannot get close enough to the door
before it swipes you with the tail, but this time it is different. Eventually,
the tail will catch on the wall of the roof. If you're lucky (and it does
happen fairly often), this will bring it to a stop without breaking the tail
or rotors. Be prepared, though! Two SWAT guys will emerge from the rear of the
heli and begin shooting. Kill them, then get inside. Congratulations on
obtaining the Annihilator! But don't rejoice just yet.

To keep it, fly to your safehouse and land on the nearby street. Rush inside
the building and save to remove your wanted level. Be careful when leaving the
Annihilator; it may fly upwards for a few seconds! If this happens, you will
fall out and take a little damage. The heli will then fall back down and
probably lose the blades or tail. This isn't a problem, so just go and save
the game for the moment. Keep in mind this save is just to remove the wanted
level, not an actual save with the Annihilator obtained!

Exit the building and call a Fire Truck with 911, then use it to push the heli
into the parking spot. Once it is in the parking spot, go back inside and save
again. Reload the game and the Annihilator should be in the parking spot, good
as new! Now you should be able to take off and actually use it, although it
probably needs to be repositioned in the parking spot to be more safely
stored.

Here is the video of the GTAIV version of this trick. The important part is
once he is on the parking garage roof, which is what matters in TLAD and TBoGT
as well. The part of driving there can be ignored.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHHumUqbfWg

<<Formulated by: EKGene>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 2: Similar to the above strategy, and probably much easier, is to
get the wanted level needed (5 or 6 stars), and then fly to the tallest
building in southeast Algonquin. It has a large, flat roof with plenty of open
space. Once the Annihilators reach the proper altitude, land on the roof and
take cover behind one of the structures on the roof. If you stay hidden, the
Annihilators will decrease their altitude and effectively land on the roof.
When one does this, quickly pop out of cover and shoot the pilot. You must be
quick about doing this, or else they'll start gaining altitude again. If that
happens, just go back to cover and repeat until the pilot is dead.

Once the pilot is killed, kill the remaining officers on the helicopter. When
everyone is dead, get inside and fly to the parking spot of your choice (the
Lost Clubhouse spot is recommended). Land the Annihilator on the street
outside of the safehouse, then rush inside and save to remove your wanted
level. Go back outside and push the Annihilator into the parking spot with a
large vehicle (call 911 for a Fire Truck if necessary).

Videos detailing this strategy. Once again, what really matters is what
happens on the roof. The driving beforehand and the parking afterwards is not
important, although he does a good job at salvaging a broken helicopter on the
roof of that building in the second video.

<<Formulated by: Ranjaya Mendis>>

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY 3: Immediately after completing Get Lost (without saving and loading
the game!), go to the helipad at the police station in East Holland. The
Annihilator should be waiting atop it. Take it to a parking spot for safe
keeping. This only appears IMMEDIATELY afterwards! MC_320 says it also appears
on the MeTV building in central Algonquin (the same place as the one rewarded
in GTAIV for shooting all 200 pigeons). These will continue appearing until
you end that game session by loading a game, so get as many as you want.

According to OrionSR, on the Xbox 360 Episodes from Liberty City version, you
must wait until the sixth cinematic during the ending credits for the
Annihilator to appear properly. This is a motorcycle gang war scene, taking
place after the battle at the museum, and before the bank heist in the
credits. I have the DLC version for the 360, and on that version it will be
there regardless of how long the credits are watched.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A large black attack helicopter. It has a machinegun that, sadly,
lacks any automatic aim like helicopters in the 3D GTA era. However, the
TLAD version of this helicopter features explosive bullets that make it a
thousandfold more effective than the GTAIV version.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Missions this vehicle may also be found in:
-Get Lost

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: To store the Annihilator, I recommend the parking space outside Brian's
apartment in Tudor (it's near the skyway overpass) or the Lost Clubhouse's
parking spot in Acter, a block southwest of the internet cafe. The parking
spaces from GTAIV don't really give enough space to take off again without
severely damaging the Annihilator.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.5 - Revenant
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlocked (1): After "This Shit's Cursed" (Billy Grey).
Found (1): Call up Clay and use his perk (Bikes) to order one.

Unlocked (2): When races are available.
Found (2): Sometimes an opponent uses this bike. Shoot him off of it, then
make sure to kill him. The race will be abandoned (considered a loss), then
the bike may be driven back to a parking spot. Note that the opponent must
actually die, otherwise the bike is rendered UJ.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A medium-sized motorcycle, about halfway between a chopper and a
sports bike. It is notable for having solid chrome wheels instead of spokes or
some other setup. Billy's version of the bike is NOT unique, but rather, one
of the random colorings in its palette.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Missions the car may also be found in:
-...Clean and Serene
-Angels in America
-It's War
-Action/Reaction
-This Shit's Cursed

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: After the intro mission (...Clean and Serene) this will be one of three
bikes parked outside the Clubhouse. Move one of the other two and keep it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.6 - Slamvan
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlocked (1): When Terry's Gun Van service is available.
Found (1): Order Terry's weapon service, then shoot him dead in his car.
Proceed to push it into a parking spot somewhere. After using his service, he
will drive around endlessly afterwards, so it is possible to follow him until
he drives close to a parking spot before killing him.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlocked (2): When Gang Wars are available.
Found (2): Found in Gang Wars with the Angels of Death, often as the target
vehicle in convoy-style missions. These may appear in several colors, such
as all black, black and orange, white and blue, or white and purple.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A special van with an oddly curved body and unique-looking
wheels. It resembles the Towtruck's body to some extent.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Missions the car may also be found in:
-Heavy Toll
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.7 - Innovation
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlocked (1 and 2): Shoot all 50 seagulls around Liberty City.
Found (1): Spawns outside the west door of the Lost Clubhouse, in the alley.
Found (2): Call up Clay and use his perk (Bikes) to order one.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: A sleek motorcycle that resembles a Hellfury. Very good top
speed and turning, but the acceleration is somewhat lacking.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.8 - Hakuchou Custom
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlocked (1): When races are available.
Found (1): Sometimes an opponent uses this bike. Shoot him off of it, then
make sure to kill him. The race will be abandoned (considered a loss), then
the bike may be driven back to a parking spot. Note that the opponent must
actually die, otherwise the bike is rendered UJ.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
STRATEGY (Heavy Toll): This bike can be found near the garage at the end,
parked against a wall. It is a one-time deal right after the mission, and is
not unlocked there permanently. Take it when you finish the mission, or it
won't appear again.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: This is a custom version of the Hakuchou with slightly better
performance. It usually has a green camouflage pattern.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Missions the car may also be found in:
-Heavy Toll
-Shifting Weight
-Malc random encounter (first)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: This vehicle can appear randomly on the streets, but ONLY if you are
driving one yourself, or much less likely, if one was recently in the game's
memory (such as after a mission that features it).
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
6.9 - Double T Custom
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unlocked: When races are available.
Found: Sometimes an opponent uses this bike. Shoot him off of it, then
make sure to kill him. The race will be abandoned (considered a loss), then
the bike may be driven back to a parking spot. Note that the opponent must
actually die, otherwise the bike is rendered UJ.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Description: This is a custom version of the Double T with slightly higher
performance. It usually has a single-color snakeskin pattern.</pre><pre id="faqspan-3">

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Missions the car may also be found in:
Shifting Weight, Roman's Holiday, Malc random encounter (both)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: There is a non-UJ one parked nearby the end point of Shifting Weight. It
is not Malc's bike, but a different one, not that either one is unique.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

==============================================================================
*7* GANG WARS
==============================================================================
These are the special battle events in the game, pitting your Lost crew
against another gang in brutal street warfare. There are three styles, and
each gang has a variety of vehicles (some special) used in some or all of the
styles. Obtaining all vehicles (except the Convoy target) is a matter of
driving them to a parking spot after the war is over (sometimes, some are UJ,
but will be drivable after the war is over). The styles of gang war are as
follows:

----------------------------

Cruising: These are gang wars where you attack the rival gang as they are
driving along. This is the "basic" style of war, and will see you endure
several waves of reinforcements. Victory is killing all the gang members. This
is the most common variant, and never has any vehicles beyond the two basic
ones the gang uses (three for AoD).

----------------------------

Convoy: Similar to Cruising, except that there is a target vehicle.
Destroying that ends the gang war. There are tricks to keeping the target
vehicle, although it is very difficult to do. The best strategy for keeping
the vehicle is to shoot the drivers, get in, and drive to a parking spot.
Shoot at the vehicle until it catches fire, then get into another car and
drive away until the war ends. Return to the parking spot and if you're lucky,
the vehicle will still be sitting in the parking spot, fully repaired. If
not... try again. These are the rarest gang wars, possibly because they are
also the easiest, if you're prepared.

In addition to the initial convoy, reinforcements may show up, and will
possibly use the same vehicle as the convoy target. This can make obtaining
the convoy target vehicles much easier, but be aware this is a somewhat rare
event.

----------------------------

Siege: Siege wars are when the enemy gang is gathered at a certain location.
They do not drive around, and it plays much like normal siege missions in the
main storylines of GTA games (attacking a fortress or building filled with
enemies), except that not only can cops show up, but waves of reinforcements
drive in (just like Cruising and Convoy wars). These are possibly the most
difficult gang wars of all, and the second most common.

----------------------------

This will provide a list of each vehicle used, whether it is special, and if
so, why it is special (if not already obvious). Note that sometimes, gang wars
roll specific vehicles to appear, especially for the AoD. In a Siege war,
they'll either use Gang Burritos or Slamvans, but probably not both.

======================================================
7.1 - ANGELS OF DEATH
======================================================
These guys are one of the primary antagonists in TLAD's storyline, and have
the most diverse selection of Gang Wars vehicles, and special vehicles as well.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lycan (Special - some)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the basic vehicles used by the AoD in most gang wars.

Special variant: UJ Black w/ red teeth on wheels

Description: The special version of the Lycan, a chopper-style motorcycle,
driven by the AoD is a solid black bike, but with the teeth on the wheels
painted red. This resembles the red and black tires on the Lost's special
version of the Zombie motorcycle, driven by Jim and seen on the streets near
the Clubhouse. Note that this Lycan is UJ during the Gang War, which is quite
odd since no other vehicles in Gang Wars are.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Daemon (Special - some)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the basic vehicles used by the AoD in most gang wars. One color
is special, but the rest are not.

Special variant: Red-lustered Black

Description: A black chopper-style motorcycle with white flames painted on the
fuel tank. This also has a red luster to it, with the angles involved usually
making either the front or rear half of the fuel tank and back of the bike
appear red. Although it can probably be found in any type of war, I've only
seen it in Siege wars.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Angel (Special - some)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the basic vehicles used by the AoD in most gang wars. Two of
the possible colors are special, but the rest are not.

Special variants: Orange (1), Red-lustered Silver (2)

Description (1): This Angel is bright orange (bright yellow-orange on some
screens), which is quite a unique color for it.

Description (2): The other is a silver Angel with a red luster. The way
lighting usually works, either the front or rear half of all silver surfaces
on the Angel (mostly fuel tank and frame) will appear with the red luster
noticeably present.

---------------------------
Gang Burrito (Siege) (Special)
---------------------------
This is used as one of the possible Convoy targets by the AoD. All are special
vehicles (only available here, and in the story missions). The charcoal black
color is found in story missions too, but all other colors are unique to gang
wars.

Description: Available in a variety of colors. All are special, although the
charcoal black version is available in missions outside of Gang Wars. Some
known colors are white/blue, and orange/black. These seem extremely rare, but
appear in any level of gang war, whether number 1 or 100.

---------------------------
Slamvan (Convoy, Siege) (Special - some)
---------------------------
This is used as one of the possible Convoy targets by the AoD. One color is
a special vehicle.

Special variants: Blue/White (1), Orange/Black (2)

Description (1): The special color for this is a blue top and a white bottom.
This color is available from both Siege and Convoy wars, although the former
may be the best bet to get one, since in Convoy, it is the target.

Description (2): This variant has a black top and orange bottom.

======================================================
7.2 - RUSSIANS
======================================================
The bane of Niko in GTAIV, the Russians return with their trademark vehicles,
including that special silver-grilled Schafter only found in story missions.

------------------------------------------------------
Rebla
------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the basic vehicles used by the Russians in all gang wars. It
is the standard black Rebla often seen around Hove Beach, which technically
counts as a Russian gang car, even though the only difference between it and
normal Reblas is the color.

------------------------------------------------------
Schafter (Special)
------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the basic vehicles used by the Russians in all gang wars.

Description: These Schafters are black with black rims, but a silver grill,
much like the Russian's cars in GTAIV. Normally, this type of Schafter has a
black grill, not silver. This is one of the basic vehicles used by the
Russians in all gang wars. They seem to have a gold luster to them.

------------------------------------------------------
Phantom
------------------------------------------------------
This is used as the Convoy target by the Russians. It is black, but not
thought to be special.

======================================================
7.3 - JAMAICANS
======================================================
This is the gang Jacob and Badman were part of in GTAIV's storyline. They're
not much different from the other gangs in terms of Gang Wars, but do use
their distinctive green, black, and gold vehicles, often seen in Schottler.

------------------------------------------------------
Voodoo
------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the basic vehicles used by the Jamaicans in all gang wars.
There is nothing special about it, and it can be found on the streets in
Schottler.

------------------------------------------------------
Huntley Sport
------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the basic vehicles used by the Jamaicans in all gang wars.
There is nothing special about it, and it can be found on the streets in
Schottler.

------------------------------------------------------
Flat Black Comet (Convoy) (Special)
------------------------------------------------------
This is used as the Convoy target by the Jamaicans. This is a special vehicle.
Read the "Convoy" description at the top of this section for a strategy on how
to keep it.

Description: A flat black Comet, which is not a normal color for the car.
Contrary to a long-held belief, the color is NOT permanent, and a pay n'
spray will randomize it, as with any other Comet. The reinforcements in a
Convoy war will sometimes drive these as well, making it much easier to keep
one afterwards.

======================================================
7.4 - ALBANIANS
======================================================
The basic nemeses from early GTAIV, these guys pose as much of a threat as any
gang does. Except this time, there are no shitty beige Willards to be found.

------------------------------------------------------
Futo (Special)
------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the basic vehicles used by the Albanians in all gang wars. The
only two variations of this are both special.

Special variants: Red/Black Tuner (1), Bright red (2)

Description (1): The first is a Futo GT (the tuner Futo) that is red with two
large black stripes lengthwise on the body. The real interesting thing is the
hood: it has a red panel sitting across it, partially on each black stripe.
It also has red side skirts. This car is extremely rare, and may only be found
in later wars (after #25 or even #50).
Discovered by: MC_320

Description (2): A solid red Futo. This is not the tuner version, but is a
bright red (characteristic of Albanian vehicles in these wars) that cannot be
found randomly on the street or in a pay n' spray.

------------------------------------------------------
Hakumai (Special)
------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the basic vehicles used by the Albanians in all gang wars, and
it is special.

Description: This resembles the tuner version of the Hakumai, but is a
brighter red color than the tuner version is, and does not have open
headlights or a spoiler. The black lower half of the car also seems to have a
subtle red luster.
Discovered by: serialnumberplate

------------------------------------------------------
Packer (Special)
------------------------------------------------------
This is used as the Convoy target by the Albanians. This is a special vehicle.
Read the "Convoy" description at the top of this section for a strategy on how
to keep it. The Packers used can be of any normal variety, however when found
as the convoy target, the Packer can have a new design: a hybrid. The hybrid
Packer has both the fuel tank AND car ramp on the back, giving a very strange
appearance. The hybrid does not seem to show up as reinforcement vehicles.

Special variants: Red/Black (1), Red/Red (2), Green (3)

Description (1): This is a large truck. First of all, the cab has a bright red
upper half, and a black lower half. These are the usual Albanian gang car
colors, as seen in their other vehicles, and unique for a Packer.

Description (2): Similar to 1, except the other red has a slightly darker tone
to it. Sometimes, the reinforcements in a Convoy war will drive these as well,
making obtaining one much easier.
Discovered by: serialnumberplate

Description (3): Similar to the red colors, but this one is green.

------------------------------------------------------
Mule (Cruising) (Special - some)
------------------------------------------------------
These are very, extremely rarely used in Cruising wars by the Albanians. So
rare that you could possibly go 50 or even 100 wars without seeing one.

Special variant: Sideless Mule

Description: This Mule is very special for one reason: the sides are
invisible. Specifically, the sides covering the back of the truck (the storage
area) are not present, allowing you to see the contents of the truck. This is
possibly a texture issue (some "residue" can be seen where the sides should
be). Either way, this vehicle is a rare as it is special.

7.5 - MAFIA
======================================================
These are the same Mafia that played a large role later on in GTAIV and TLAD.
They even use the same vehicles, although no wars seem to have either the
tuner or hybrid versions of the PMP 600's grill.

------------------------------------------------------
Sentinel (Special)
------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the basic vehicles used by the Mafia in all gang wars.

Description: These are basic black Sentinels, not the Mafia's tuner version.
They have a luster. It is either green or red. That is all.

------------------------------------------------------
PMP 600 (Special)
------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the basic vehicles used by the Mafia in all gang wars.

Description: These are basic black PMP 600s, not the Mafia's tuner version.
They have a luster. It is either green or red. That is all.

------------------------------------------------------
Stretch
------------------------------------------------------
This is used as the Convoy target by the Mafia.

*8* VEHICLES NOT PRESENT IN TLAD
==============================================================================
These are vehicles that exist within the game's code, but do not appear in any
way in TLAD. While vehicle discrepancies between GTA titles is hardly a unique
occurrence, since TLAD is more of an expansion pack then its own game,
vehicles not appearing in it I feel are worthy of note.

Background is included on what the vehicle is and in what capacity it occurred
in GTAIV on the off chance that someone is interested in exploring the game in
search of it.

Police Stockade
~This is a prison transport vehicle (akin to the Prison Bus, except higher
security). It uses the same basic vehicle model as the Securicar and the
Enforcer, except is white and blue. This was present in two missions in
GTAIV, one serving its role as prisoner transport, the other as a blockade
vehicle (Enforcers would have made more sense though). This is not present
anywhere in TLAD, even in or near the prison (including in missions where
you might think it would logically appear).

Romero
~A basic hearse and a long-standing addition to the vehicle lineup for GTA.
It was only present in one mission in GTAIV (used for its actual purpose -
transporting a body to burial). It does not appear in TLAD, even parked
or driven anywhere near either cemetery. According to Floris Ferwerda,
this vehicle only randomly appears in traffic if you are already driving
one, and since no missions in TLAD include it, this vehicle has no way to
ever appear in TLAD.

Tampa
~This car was added to TLAD in the game's vehicle roster, but does not appear
anywhere in the game itself. The Tampa looks similar to the Sabre GT. The car
group it is coded into apparently does not work, and therefore this car
cannot spawn on its own.

==============================================================================
*9* VEHICLES ADDED IN TLAD
==============================================================================
This is a list of vehicles added in TLAD that are not present in GTAIV.
Whether these are special or not can be found elsewhere in the guide. This is
intended as a simple list, and will not have descriptions of what each vehicle
is or looks like. The majority present themselves to you throughout the game
anyways - few motorcycles used in TLAD are from GTAIV, and the new vehicles
are usually given to you or specifically used by enemies in at least one
story mission.

Motorcycles - Choppers:
-Angel
-Daemon
-Diabolus
-Hexer
-Innovation
-Lycan
-Nightblade
-Revenant
-Wayfarer
-Wolfsbane

Motorcycles - Sport:
-Bati 800
-Bati Custom
-Double T
-Double T Custom
-Hakuchou
-Hakuchou Custom

Other Vehicles:
-Gang Burrito
-Prison Bus
-Regina
-Rhapsody
-Slamvan
-Towtruck

In Code Only:
-Tampa

Redesigned Vehicles:
-Packer
-Yankee

Spawn points:
-Angel, Daemon, Nightblade, Wayfarer, and Wolfsbane are Angels of Death
motorcycles, and will only spawn where AoD pedestrians appear, such as
northwestern Algonquin.

-Bati 800, Bati Custom, Double T, Hakuchou, Rhapsody, and Towtruck all spawn
normally on the streets, as vehicles usually do.

-Diabolus, Double T Custom, Gang Burrito, Hexer, Innovation, Prison Bus,
Revenant, and Slamvan apparently do not appear while driving one. According
to the game code, they are programmed to only appear in their "native zone,"
which unfortunately is unknown. It is likely the "native zone" for these
vehicles was never set, causing them to only occur in missions or, for the
motorcycles, as a reward near Johnny's safehouses.

-Hakuchou Custom and Regina only spawn on the streets if you are driving one
yourself.

-Tampa, as its section name implies, exists in the game's code, but doesn't
actually appear anywhere in the game itself. Modding is necessary to obtain
it.

-The Packer redesign is also in the game's coding, but nowhere to be seen in
the game itself. It is apparently a "shinier" version of the normal Packer.

*12* FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
==============================================================================
Q: You missed [insert vehicle]!
A: Email me, and let me know. You will receive full credit for it.

Q: [Insert vehicle] doesn't possess a property you said it did!
A: Most likely, you did not follow the precise strategy. If you did,
and it does not retain its property, contact me and say so, although
I personally check each and every vehicle.

Q: [Insert vehicle] isn't special, but you still have it listed here!
A: Send me the info on where it can be found at any time (especially the
end of the game), and I'll adjust or remove it from this guide
accordingly.

Q: Is Luis' parking spot found in this game as well? Can it be used?
A: Luis' parking spot is visually present in the EfLC version, as well as PC
and PS3 DLC, however it will NOT store vehicles. It is completely absent in
the Xbox 360 DLC version.

Q: One of the vehicles you listed is one I discovered first, and here's
proof! Thief!
A: If you have proof you discovered a vehicle first, show it to me and
if I determine you really did discover it first, credit will be given.

==============================================================================
*15* VERSION HISTORY
==============================================================================
Versions prior to 1.00 have been omitted.

1.00     Completed March 17th, 2009.
First complete edition. All missions should be listed. Among other new
entries is a beginning to cataloguing gang war vehicles, and which are
special (a Comet and Schafter so far). Found that races contain any
motorcycle at all.

1.01     Completed April 2nd, 2009.
Added info on vehicles in Brian's random encounter.

1.03     Completed April 6th, 2009.
Info on the red Wolfsbane and blue Nightblade in Malc's first
encounter, along with some additional info on a few things.

1.04     Completed April 13th, 2009.
Removed an entry that turned out to not be special (Brian's Diabolus in
This Shit's Cursed). Also the Hexer apparently CAN appear in traffic.

1.05     Completed April 16th, 2009.
Added the Green and Yellow Bati 800.

1.10     Completed May 27th, 2009.
More info on the Yankee in Liberty City Choppers, removed Gang Burrito
from "rare" vehicles (finally), removed some bikes that aren't rare, and
other things.

1.11     Completed June 29th, 2009.
Added info about parking spot quirks.

1.20     Completed July 9th, 2009.
Added info on vehicles from GTAIV that are NOT present in TLAD, and a note
on the Infernus in one of Stubbs' side missions.

1.21     Completed October 1st, 2009.
Some very minor corrections, and de-capitalized the "Not in TLAD" vehicle
list. I don't know what the heck I was thinking when I made the names all
caps. Also added a bit of info on getting the Prison Bus in Get Lost. It
is indeed obtainable without failing a mission, but is of incomparable
difficulty.

1.22     Completed October 2nd, 2009.
Added in a note about the phenomenon where motorcycles spawn closer and
closer to the street, eventually disappearing. Also revised a few other
things, such as the Yankee in the guide.

1.25     Completed October 5th, 2009.
Spellchecked the guide again. Also added a section for vehicles added
in TLAD, something I had long considered doing. Fixed the green and
yellow Bati 800's description.

1.26     Completed October 6th, 2009.
Forgot to update info on the black Comet. Thanks, GTA_Phreak! Also added
permanent to the list of terms.

1.27     Completed October 29th, 2009.
Some additional notes from Floris Ferwerda, including suggestions on an
alternate method for the green and yellow Bati 800, the permanent black
Comet's backup vehicle appearance, and an obtainable Double T Custom in
Shifting Weight.

1.28     Completed November 1st, 2009.
Edited a couple of instances of GTAIV-only things (references to Niko and
GTAIV special vehicles) I found in the guide.

1.29     Completed November 2nd, 2009.
Added some notes about the Annihilator, and how Police Maverick strategies
don't actually work for obtaining it. Looks like cheating is the only way
to get one. Such a shame...

1.30     Completed November 8th, 2009.
Switched the order of Laundromat and Prison Bus in the final mission, to
make the Prison Bus' write-up seem more epic. Also edited a couple of
small things in some sections.

1.31     Completed November 24th, 2009.
Thanks to Floris Ferwerda, I know exactly how unique vehicles like the
Laundromat and Regina work when it comes to spawning on the streets, and
their entries are updated accordingly.

1.32     Completed November 28th, 2009.
Some minor changes to a couple of things, and other such revisions.
Alphabetized the list of terms, and added the "Firetruck Trick," courtesy
of fiis. Noted vehicles this strategy may aid the acquiring of.

1.33     Completed December 1st, 2009.
More info on how (and maybe later, where) certain vehicles will spawn while
driving one. Added some info on where the various new vehicles spawn in
this game.

1.34     Completed December 8th, 2009.
Edited listings of "Romero's Hearse" to the proper term of "Romero."

1.35     Completed December 12th, 2009.
A bit more info on certain vehicles and whether or not they spawn in
traffic.

1.36     Completed February 24th, 2010.
Fixed the Buyer's Market Gang Burrito entry to reflect it being UJ.

1.37     Completed April 7th, 2010.
A few corrections to stuff (found some artifacts from my GTAIV guide,
since I used the same format to save time). I've heard more evidence that
the Gang Burrito is found (although very rarely) in gang wars with the
Angels of Death.

1.40     Completed April 16th, 2010.
Moved the version history section to the back of the guide. New strategy for
the Gang Burrito in It's War (much easier), courtesy of MC_320.

1.41     Completed April 24th, 2010.
GorgeousDre discovered a strategy that works for the Gang Burrito in Hit the
Pipe! Also MC_320 discovered one possible way of getting an Annihilator in
TLAD. Also gave Gang Burrito a proper Rare Vehicles entry, although still
hesitant to remove it from unique/unobtainable sections.

1.42     Completed April 27th, 2010.
Minor edits again.

1.43     Completed May 3rd, 2010.
Bit the bullet and removed Gang Burrito as a unique vehicle due to being
unwilling and unable to ignore evidence to the contrary any longer.

1.44     Completed May 5th, 2010.
Added to the preamble, regarding different versions. Also added a parking
spot note for Luis' parking spot being available in all versions EXCEPT
the 360's DLC version.

1.45     Completed May 12th, 2010.
Minor edits to a few things, and added a yellow-orange Angel to the list.

1.46     Completed June 11th, 2010.
Found out the Infernus is actually a unique vehicle, due to appearing in one
of Stubbs' missions only, and not actually present in any car groups in the
game's data files. Also moved Annihilator to the unique vehicle section,
due to it only being obtainable immediately prior to the final mission
(except via cheats, which I don't count. Also added Malc's Double T Custom
in his second random encounter which revs every few seconds no matter what.

1.47     Completed June 16th, 2010.
Edited a few things and fixed a few errors.

1.48     Completed July 15th, 2010.
Coen91 discovered the unobtainable crimson Diabolus in It's War is
obtainable! Also discovered lustered Schafters in Politics, thanks to
Coen as well.

1.49     Completed July 19th, 2010.
Coen91 pointed out a few corrections for the guide, and discovered Brian's
crimson Diabolus IS in This Shit's Cursed.

1.50     Completed August 28th, 2010.
Coen91 found that the black Stretch in Diamonds in the Rough is lustered
(always gold, too).

1.51     Completed August 29th, 2010.
Corrected a few very small things. Also put in a note about the Annihilator.

1.52     Completed September 5th, 2010.
Fixed a few things and spellchecked it again.

1.53     Completed November 19th, 2010.
Courtesy of EKGene, a way to get the Annihilator at any time! This is a bit
difficult to pull off, but works wonders, and works at any point of the game
in GTAIV, TLAD, and TBoGT. As a result of this, the Annihilator has been
reclassified as a Rare vehicle, not unique. Check the video out here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHHumUqbfWg

1.54     Completed December 30th, 2010.
Edited some of the Rare vehicle entries to standardize the format across all of
my vehicle guides. Rewrote parts of the About section.

1.55     Completed February 26th, 2011.
Dark Minun discovered a black Lycan! Congrats! Also noticed the Yellow-Orange
Angel is actually just plain orange, thanks to the miracle of HDTV.

1.56     Completed April 26th, 2011.
Added in a unique tuner-mimicking Hakumai and Futo from gang wars, courtesy of
serialnumberplate.

1.60     Completed April 27th, 2011.
Added a gang wars section to the glossary of terms, and modified gang wars
vehicle sections to reflect this. Did a little research on gang wars vehicles,
including seeing a Gang Burrito! Whoop-de-do.

2.00     Completed April 28th, 2011.
Added a dedicated Gang Wars section to the guide, similar to the Drug Wars
section in my TBoGT guide.

2.10     Completed May 1st, 2011.
Refined the Gang Wars section some.

2.11     Completed May 6th, 2011.
Added more info on Gang Wars. Also a new strategy for the Prison Bus in Get
Lost, courtesy of lol232!!!

2.12     Completed May 10th, 2011.
Some more info on some Gang Wars vehicles, including the Packer and Sentinel.

2.13     Completed May 20th, 2011.
Added more Gang Wars info (from serialnumberplate), such as the Mule with a
missing side.

2.14     Completed June 6th, 2011.
Changed my contact information, and improved the gang wars section some.

2.15     Completed September 2nd, 2011.
I now own a copy of GTAIV Complete, allowing me to check into things on the
EfLC version. I fixed the entry for Luis' parking spot in TBoGT in EfLC
version: it visually exists, but does NOT store cars. Also added GTAIV and
EfLC to the glossary of terms. Rewrote a lot of stuff (such as the About and
the Parking Spot section). Decided the Huntley and Oracle in one of Stubbs'
missions had a unique black color.

2.16     Completed September 6th, 2011.
Added the black Laundromat found in Get Lost, courtesy of lol232. It is
actually from months ago, but I just didn't get around to it until now.

2.17     Completed September 7th, 2011.
Discovered that the black Laundromat in Get Lost is lustered! Also confirmed
that now, apparently all versions reinstate your wanted level if you enter
the prison after leaving, making these all but impossible to acquire. Also
decided to rewrite the strategies of the hybrid grill PMP 600s in Collector's
Item, just because.

2.18     Completed September 8th, 2011.
Re-adjusted my info on the Get Lost vehicles (thanks to GTA Phreak), and
figured out exactly why some people had problems obtaining them without a
wanted level. Also realized the "call a Firetruck" trick just doesn't work.
And finally, I managed to get both the Prison Bus AND a red lustered
Laundromat back to a parking spot! VICTORY.

2.19     Completed September 19th, 2011.
Added a section about an advanced strategy (having cops transport UJ vehicles
for you).

2.20     Completed January 7th, 2012.
Fixed a couple errors, and added a light blue Habanero and a Zombie with black
rimmed tires, both courtesy of Coen91.

2.21     Completed August 13th, 2012.
Added a new vehicle courtesy of lol232: a black Diabolus. Also improved the
formatting of the guide, making vehicle sections easier to read.

2.22     Completed April 7th, 2013.
A new strategy on how to get an Annihilator, easier than previous strategies.
Courtesy of Ranjaya Mendis!

2.23     Completed June 7th, 2013.
Added two new sections: 1.2 and 1.3, detailing new general strategies for
obtaining special vehicles. 1.2 is courtesy of F_H_Nukem. Also fixed a
bunch of minor typos throughout the guide.

2.24     Completed June 12th, 2013.
Removed section 1.2 because the strategy has since evolved, thanks to more
help from F_H_Nukem. Added in a new entry to some vehicles, Mission replay
checkpoint, which lists what checkpoint within a mission the replay text
will send you back to if the mission is failed. Vehicles that can benefit
from exploiting the nstant mission-starting properties of the texts are
also explicitly specified, rather than listing it as a general strategy.

2.25     Completed June 14th, 2013.
Thanks to F_H_Nukem, added in mission replay checkpoint info for all
vehicles. Also, why did no one ever tell me I forgot to update the "Xth of
5" label next to the Brian random encounter crimson Diabolus? You made me
look like a fool :(

2.26     Completed June 16th, 2013.
Changed section 1.1 to 1.2, and 1.2 to 1.3. Added Mission replay texts and
checkpoints as section 1.1. Added UJ tags to all relevant vehicles, as well
as added strategy 1.2 to relevant vehicles directly. All info in section
1.1 is courtesy of F_H_Nukem. Also added a list of cheats, just in case!

2.27     Completed August 12th, 2013.
Fixed up some entries in the definitions section to make reading easier.

2.28     Completed October 17th, 2013.
Added a bright red Turismo in a random encounter, courtesy of Coen91.

2.29     Completed April 11th, 2014.
Updated the guide's format to reflect that of my GTA4 and GTA5 guides.
Hopefully it's easier to read now!

2.30     Completed June 18th, 2014.
Improved the mission list slightly with better spacing.

2.31     Completed September 15th, 2016.
Updated my contact info.

2.32     Completed November 12th, 2016.
Edited the strategy for the lustered black Laundromat and Prison Bus in Get
Lost. Militia notified me of a way to obtain a Firetruck to push the vehicles
with, as well as pointed out that I didn't mention having to double-drive the
Hexer back to the parking spot along with the pushing vehicle and two target
vehicles. Also revised several of the vehicle descriptions and strategies to
word them better, and added a "Mission failure?" entry to each vehicle's
entry. YES means the vehicle absolutely requires mission failure, No means it
does NOT require mission failure (although some strategies may still use it).
Also removed the "Required" field unless there is any relevant information to
populate it with, since mission failure has its own field now.

2.33     Completed November 18th, 2016.
A few more minor corrections and wording rewrites.

2.34     Completed July 2nd, 2017.
I was informed that Lum1nous provided evidence of a black/orange Slamvan in a
gang war, and Ghost Ryder apparently found the black Oracle in random traffic,
suggesting it may not be special after all. Same for the gold lustered black
Stretch.

2.35     Completed September 6th, 2017.
Removed the black Oracle from Stubbs' phone missions, as it can be found in
traffic. Other suspect vehicles, including others from the phone missions and
the gold luster Stretch are indeed unique.
