Hello, my name is Dave, AKA Rooster of Doom, and this is my first attempt at a
walkthrough. In fact, at this point, it's just the beginnings of an attempt
.. a meta-attempt, if you will. Version 0.1. Or something. Initially, it
should only be found at GameFAQs.com, because they rock.
If you've played the game even a little bit, you'll know by now that there
can't be a true 'walkthrough' for this game, as every single one is different
and randomly generated. I will, however, attempt to discuss as many aspects
as possible about ways to make your life easy, things to try, etc., etc. At
the moment, I'll be accepting helpful, well-thought-out contributions or
requests for additions at 'Fate at davesmind dot net'. This account may well
get closed if it gets swamped with useless crap, so don't hold your breath.
And yes, I reserve the right to be an arse about punctuation, spelling,
sentences that make no farking sense, etc.
All of the factual information in the tables is drawn directly from the
various '.dat' files you'll find squirrelled away in the subfolders of the
game install folder. You COULD search through them all and read it yourself,
(indeed, even modify it yourself, if you were so inclined,) but why go through
all that hard work when I've done it for you?

VERSION HISTORY
***************************************************
Version 0.5 - 8/31/2005 - 27 KB
This is it, folks. Not too fancy at this time.
'Price' in the below tables is what it will cost you to buy a base model,
unmagical version of any of these goods from the sellers in town or Getts the
Traveler in the dungeon. Obviously, magical, Elite, Legendary, socketed, or
Superior versions will cost more.
The ratio of their selling Price to yours is 8:1 - they've got you over the
proverbial barrel head and they know it.
Elite items will perform twice as well as their normal counterparts (as far as
damage done, protection received, etc.), but will have 50% higher requirements.
Legendary items will perform four times as well, but have twice the
requirements.
Both Elite and Legendary items will also have a minimum Fame requirement.
Socketing does not appear to affect requirements.
I have not yet concretely determined the effect of Superior on an item, but
welcome feedback. It appears to add a constant amount to both min and max on a
weapon (as opposed to a percentage).
'Plain' magical items will have a purple surrounding aura in your inventory
slots. Although only one or two is the standard, they can have as many as three
or four magical attributes, possibly more.
'Unique' magical items will have an aqua surrounding aura. Typically they have
at least three attributes, but I've seen as many as eight. They will also have
a possessive name at the front, like "Facescratcher's" or "Bolmazar's".
'Artifact' level items will have a golden aura. They'll have about as many
magical attributes as a Unique one, but typically higher values on them, as
well as on damage done / protection. Artifacts can also come in Elite and
Legendary levels; it is possible (at a MINIMUM) to find both Elite and 'normal'
levels of a single artifact, and maybe Legendary as well, within a single game.
And I'm putting Staves last, even though the rest of them show up in the order
they do in your skills window, because it's so farking ugly. There was no way
I was individually typing out all the stats for all the different sub-flavors
of each one, so they're lumped in the indented information.

## MONSTERS ##
################
Here is the information for all the monsters, in the order they appear within
the MONSTERS.DAT file. That seems to be basically the order in which they'll
show up as you descend the dungeon, but there's a little fluctuation even
within that. It's certainly not the magnitude by which they get tougher;
that's all over the place.
Several notes about this information:
- Many monsters have multiple attacks, sometimes of differing powers. In these
cases, I have recorded the most powerful.
- Many monsters can cast spells or have other effects; these are not recorded.
- Many monsters (mainly the roughly humanoid shapes) can equip weapons and
jewelry.

And thaaaat's about it for right now, folks!
I know it's not super-pretty at the moment, but I think there's some good
information in here. Coming soon: possibly information on Gems, and definitely
some few cheats and work-arounds. Thanks for reading!
