Version 1.1, March 3, 2010
I have made minor corrections to the diamond location procedures for
diamonds 12, 106 and 162.

Version 1.2, September 22, 2011
I have made minor grammatical corrections and have added extensive detail to
many of the diamond acquisition procedures.

                              INTRODUCTION

The currency of Far Cry 2 is rough diamonds and there are 221 diamond
cases, each containing from 1 to 3 diamonds, scattered throughout the
expansive African landscape. With them you can purchase weapons, weapons
crates, weapon and repair upgrades, the camouflage suit, and additional
health syrettes.

Finding them all is truly a game within a game, and while some come
easily, others are much more difficult to acquire. This guide will
document the position and procedures required to find them all. Many are
situated in remote areas to which you would not normally venture, even
if you do all of the available missions. In keeping with Far Cry Two’s
modus operandi the perilous journey across the massive African landscape
will be a challenge and an adventure in itself.

Many diamonds can be acquired during the coarse of missions; but due to
factors such as enemy resistance, your route to an objective, your ammo
reserve, your buddy rescue responsibilities or your choice to not do a
subverted or other optional mission, you may not be able to acquire many
of the diamonds at that time. Keeping this in mind this guide will offer
somewhat detailed advice on how to approach the tougher objectives, like
Mokuba shantytown or Dogon village. Like my game walkthrough, available
on GameFaqs, this guide will recommend guerilla tactics rather than
continuous bold confrontation in this pursuit.

The diamond locations within the 9 Leboa-Seka sectors, the 9 Bowa-Seka
sectors and in the central desert will be listed separately in 19
headings. Each sectors available diamonds and the total number of cases
will also be shown, and each diamond case will have a detailed procedure
for its acquisition.

While walking is never as popular as driving it has its advantages when
near enemy positions. Driving near any installation or guard post will
instantly put the troops on alert. Even tangling with an assault truck
near an enemy occupied area will do the same. Far Cry 2 is an enormous
stage. Learn to park and walk when necessary, and use off-road routes as
much as possible.

Following the diamond section there will be another brief section
showing the position of all 17 Jackal tapes and all 8 golden AK-47s. All
Jackal tapes and AK-47 locations will also appear in the sector maps,
adjacent to any diamond case near their position.

Enough banter! Buckle up, check your ammo and open your map. Let’s go fetch
some diamonds.

INITIAL DIAMONDS:  <ID01>

During the tutorial portion of the game you will receive 10 diamonds. There
are four possible missions, but you will be doing only one of the four. Your
mission will be dependant on which path you take to escape the hotel in
Pala. Following will be the diamond locations for all four missions. This
initial find will be number one. The diamond numbering from then on will be
for the convenience of this document only, and is certainly not the order in
which you will find them.

1:  Northwest: the diamond case is located south of the “Slaughter House” in
a boxcar. (10)

1:  Northeast: the diamond case is located in the stone building southwest
of the meeting place with the UFLL lieutenant at the “Fresh Fish” facility.
(10)

1:  Southwest: the diamond case is located in the “Cock Fighting” facility
in the northeast shack. (10)

1:  Southeast:  The diamond case is located in the “Lumber Camp” in the
stone building north of the meeting place with the APR lieutenant. (10)

Jackal tape number 1:  You will receive your first Jackal tape from Reuben
at Mike’s Bar during the tutorial portion of the game.

NORTHWEST SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-LEBOA-SEKA: <LS02>

Cases: 15; Total diamonds in sector: 27

2:  Directly north of the northwest bus station there is a diamond case
on the north side of the tracks, near a large baobab tree. To find the
diamond case drive southeast from the bus station and then U-turn at the
base of the grade onto the tracks to face westward. The vehicle patrol
from the east stops prior to entering the northwest sector, making this
area free of opposition. (2)

3:  Southwest of the sector’s bus station there is a sizable lake north
of the Cattle King ranch. Near a large boulder in the lake there is a
sunken car with a diamond case sitting, just underwater, on its roof.
You will have to swim to the boulder and stand atop the sunken vehicle
to access it. While he can be avoiding by moving carefully it is easier
to locate and kill the sentry that wanders the area near the lake. The
main roadway to the north is also patrolled by an assault truck, which
will confront you if you are seen entering the lake area. (3)

4:  There is a guard post southwest of the bus stop. This is just beyond
the safe house. On its northwest side, there is a diamond case, sitting
behind a pile of tires, against the rock face. There are three sentries
at the guard post and a roving car turns just short of the facility, and
it will join in any action at the guard post. With a little care you can
sneak in and get the diamond case without being detected, or you can
just annihilate them. (1)

5:  In the valley, near the center of the map, there is a black dot. The
dot is a metal shack where two sentries are stationed, one of whom will
oftentimes wander off on the dirt path going south. There is a diamond
case in the metal shack there. Any shooting in the valley will likely
draw additional hostiles from the safe house to the west, which has a
garrison of three. Work silently or watch your back (2)

Jackal tape number 2: On the northeast side of the shoe-like mountain in
the sector’s south central area, there is a sniper platform. A lone
sniper mans it, but a sentry from the valley camp to the north will
occasionally be in the area as well. Take out the sniper and the sentry,
if he is present. The Jackal tape is on the sniper’s platform. A car
patrolling the roadway to the west will respond to any noisy activity in
this area. Kill silently or be prepared to do battle with additional
hostiles.

Golden AK-47: The AK-47 is in a boarded-up cave on the southwest tip of
the mountain west of the cattle ranch. This area is thick with hostile
activity, so tread warily.

6:  Southwest of the cattle ranch, against the eastern cliff of the
mountain, there is a shack indicated by a black dot on your map. This is
actually a guard post and its two sentries must be taken out to acquire
the diamonds. The diamond case is on the outside corner of their shack.
(2)

7:  Approach the cattle ranch from the southwest. Take out the
improvised guard post (diamond 6 location) along the way and restock
your ammo. Take up a good sniping position on the west hill overlooking
the ranch property. While it is possible to sneak into the facility and
get the diamond, it isn’t likely, so eliminate any visible hostiles from
long range and then burn the place, using Molotovs. The altercation will
draw an assault truck, so watch for it coming up the hillside. The
diamond is in the long low building on the west side of the ranch. It is
on the north end, and is boarded in. Knock out the boards to get the
diamond. (1)

8:  There is a diamond case under the south side of the bridge near the
southeast riverside guard post south of the Cattle King. Four hostiles
man it, and one of them is a sniper positioned on the knoll to the
northwest of the guard post. It is possible to sneak in and get the
diamond if you make your approach from the south. If you come from
anywhere else be prepared to eliminate the garrison. (1)

9:  On top of a railcar at Petro-Sahel there is a diamond case. This
place is heavily defended, with an elevated sniper on the eastern
storage tank. Work your way to the south side of the facility and take
up a position on the flat rock on the grassy hillside. Hit the sniper on
the east storage tank, and then target the yellow barrel and then the
propane tank on the walkway near the center building. This will start a
raging fire with additional combustibles going off and spreading the
fire. Eliminate the survivors of the firestorm as you move toward the
storage tanks on the north end by skirting around the facilities west
end. Climb the center tank’s stairwell, and when at the top of the
staircase, face the railcar and take a running leap, jump to the rail
and then jump to the top of the railcar to get the diamond. (1)

10:  There is a cluster of three rock formations just northwest of the
center of the sector map. Between the two formations on the west side of
the road there is an observation tower. The diamond case is on the
tower. A single sentry mans the post but he is seldom on the tower. His
buddy is patrolling in a car but will occasionally stop there. Take out
the hostile when the car is absent to get the diamonds. He is easier to
take quietly if you approach this area from the west. (2)

11:  To the west of the three central rock formations-west of diamond
location 10-there is a large kidney-shaped mountain. On its east side,
up on the rocks, there is a wooden canopy under which there is a diamond
case. You can get to it by approaching from the north and jumping down
the rocks. There are no hostiles near this area. (3)

12:  From the above location (location 11) on the kidney-shaped
mountain, jump down and go north and then curl briefly west; and then,
where the grassy terrain allows, get back onto the mountain. Follow it
to a hang glider which is perched facing southwest. Take the glider and
fly southwest, veering gently right to the flat-topped rock outcropping
north of the North Railyard. Land on top of the isolated rock to get the
diamonds. (3)

13:  About two-thirds of the way to the North Railyard from the
northwest safe house there is a rocky knoll to the west of the roadway.
There is a diamond case on top of the knoll. The only opposition in this
area is a patrolling SUV on the roadway to its east. (2)

14:  Northeast of the rail yard, about mid-way between the tracks and
the guard post, there is a derelict bus in the low area on the north
side of the road. There is a diamond case inside that bus. An SUV
patrols on the north-south roadway to the west and will trouble you in
this area. Going farther to the southeast will alert the sniper
overlooking the guard post. (2)

15:  The best approach to the North Railyard is via the dirt path over
the mountain to the east of the facility. Take this path, and as you top
the hill, look for the rocky crag that protrudes out on the left side of
the path as you go west. Use this perch to eliminate the sniper on the
top of the south building and his sidekick. Begin clearing the facility
hitting men and explosives at will. This high perch makes you nearly
untouchable. When opposition wanes, descend and work your way to the
southeast end of the facility. Go up the wooden ramps and onto the
rooftop. Jump down through the hole in the large structures roof to get
onto the roof of the rail car to obtain the diamond. (1)

16:  Directly east of the rail yard there is a guard post. It is manned
by four hostiles, with one, a watchful sniper, on the high rocks to the
north of the guard post. There are also two assault trucks in the post,
and a roving car frequents the area and its driver will join in any
action at the post. The garrison must be taken out to get the diamond
case, which is in the main building. It is boarded in, so knock or shoot
out the boards to get to the diamond. (1)

NORTH SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-LEBOA-SEKA <LS03>

Cases: 12; Total diamonds in sector: 21

17:  Directly behind the north sector weapon shop there is a boarded-
over grotto in the side of the mountain. Knock out the boards to get the
diamonds. (2)

18:  To the northwest of the weapon shop, on the north side of the
railroad tracks, there is a lake. On its north side, sitting on a rock,
there is a diamond case. (2)

19:  West of the weapon shop, between two mountains, there is a black
dot. That dot is an abandoned shack at the end of a long, steep but
drivable path. The diamond case is in the shack. There are no hostiles
in that area, but there are vehicle patrols on the main roads to the
north and east. (2)

Jackal tape no 3: There is a guard post in the north central area of the
map. The Jackal tape lies on a bench near a shack to the north of the
guard post. A stealthy walking approach can allow you to get the tape
without a fight. Six guards man the guard post and a car routinely
patrols the north road.

20:  South of the north sector’s weapon shop there is a safe house on
the west side of the mountain. There is a metal shack just north of it
behind a large fallen tree. The nearby road from the guard post to the
west is routinely patrolled, but if the SUV is eliminated or avoided,
you can get the diamond case without interference from the two sentries
at the safe house. A drivable road, not shown on the map, goes south
past the safe house, and a dune buggy is oftentimes available there if
you need wheels. (2)

21:  There is a group of metal shacks to the south of the two east
central safe houses. They are indicated as black spots on your map. The
diamond case is in a shack on the north side of the village, sitting on
a cot. The spread out nature of the largely abandoned village and its
spread out garrison of seven will allow you to get the goods with
minimal opposition. Many of the hostiles roam the area near the river to
the south of the village. (1)

22:  South of the central guard post, near the east face of the
mountain, there are a pair of black dots. This is an improvised guard
post. As many as four sentries man it and they must be taken out to
acquire the diamond. The diamond case is on the roof of the large metal
structure. Climb the small boulder behind the rusted truck and jump to
its cab and then to its upper frame. Sprint and jump to the roof of the
structure to get the diamond. (1)

23:  At the south central part of the sector, there is a guard post just
north of a bridge. If you approach it from the north be aware of a
sniper in an observation post just northeast of the facility. Four
guards man the post, with that sniper in the overlook. The diamond case
is on the south side of the bridge and underneath it. Jump down the rock
ledges to get the diamond case. Carefully sprint and jump down into the
water to escape with your life. (3)

24:  The southern water entrance to Shwasana fishing village is guarded
by a river checkpoint. It is manned by three hostiles who are positioned
on both sides of the river. Two are located on the south side and one on
the north side. Wipe them out and locate the machine gun emplacement
under the metal canopy on the south side of the river. Climb the rocks
behind it and get to the highest ledge. Follow it west along the rock
ledge, making a sprinting jump at the gap, to reach the diamond. (1)

25:  There is an abandoned and mostly flooded structure on the northeast
end of the lake near Shwasana. Swim into the structure using the west
entrance and swim to the southeast corner. You can exit the water there
and get the diamond case. The closest hostiles will be in the boathouse
to the west.  Patrol boats will investigate any shooting or boat
incursions in the area. (2)

26:  North of Shwasana, where the switchback entry road goes west, there
is a wooden observation platform on the south side of the road. Jump
down from the platform to get the diamond case below. This area has no
foot or vehicle patrols. (3)

27:  There is a long oblong rock formation northwest of Shwasana. On its
southwest side there is an opening that overlooks the fishing village
and its harbor. There is a crate there with a diamond case sitting on
it. Unless you have disturbed the peace, there will be no opposition in
this area. (1)

28:  Due north of Shwasana there is a large three-sided mountain. On the
mountains west side, at its mid-point, there is a derelict blue bus.
Jump onto the wooden crate on its south end and then jump to the roof to
get the diamond case. There is no opposition and no routine patrols in
this area. (1)

NORTHEAST SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-LEBOA-SEKA  <LS04>

Cases: 9; Total diamonds in sector: 17

29:  West of the bus station, about halfway to the nearest guard post,
there is an abandoned shack on the south side of the road. The diamond
case is sitting on a corner table in the dilapidated shack. This diamond
case can be taken with no opposition if you approach it from the east,
walking in the grassy area on its south side as you approach the shack,
allowing you to stay out of earshot and sight of the guard post to the
west. (2)

30:  West of the bus station-beyond diamond location 29-there is a guard
post to which an approach from the east is recommended. Stay near the
mountainside to protect your left flank. Six hostiles, including a
sniper on the high ground west of the spread out guard post, man the
installation; and, when your presence is known, they will generally
dispatch at least one vehicle to intercept you. Take out the sniper on
the hillside near the crude canopy and then target the other hostiles.
When all is clear, go up the slope near the derelict bus and start north
past the snipers canopy, staying near the cliff face as you move along
the rock ledge overlooking the road. You will find a narrow path leading
to an abandoned car. The diamond case is sitting on the car. (2)

31:  Approach the fort along the dirt path running along the eastern
cliffs. Take out the two snipers on the towers before proceeding up the
steep winding path leading up to the east side of the fort. Two arching
rocks that don’t quite reach each other will be prominent as you near
the fort. You must jump over this gap to reach the diamond case on the
eastern cliffs. From the highest arch, sprint and jump to reach the
other side. Continue north along the cliff and work your way down to the
shack where you will find the diamond case. (3)

32:  Approach the fort along the dirt path running along the eastern
cliffs. Take out the sniper or snipers on the towers before proceeding
up the steep winding path that leads to the east portal. Make your way
to the portal and turn left into the first doorway and continue straight
ahead through the chamber and out the doorway. The diamond case will be
to your left as you emerge from that doorway. Knock out the boards to
get the diamond. There will probably be stiff opposition starting at the
east portal and thereafter, but it is possible to get in and out without
a major firefight, if you get lucky. (1)

33:  Near a large baobab tree on the east central border of the oasis
there is a diamond case lying among some small boulders. Unless the
“King’s Gold” mission is in progress there will be no opposition at the
oasis. (1)

34:  North of the old fort the road makes a cup-like turn. North of it
there is a huge baobab tree and north of it is a diamond case. There is
no opposition unless a patrolling vehicle follows you there. (2)

Jackal tape number 4: Northeast of the northwest guard post, on the
north side of the tracks and near a metal shack, there is a Jackal tape.

35:  Approach the Goka Falls area from the north, taking the south path
rather than the dirt path marked “Goka Falls.” The lower guard post is
usually unmanned except during the assassination mission, so either
pilot the boat or swim southeast toward the waterfall. Go ashore well
back from the falls and take the path on the north bank to the fallen
tree. Cross the stream by walking across the log. The diamond case is
behind the waterfall. (1)

36:  Approach the Goka Falls area from the north, taking the south path
rather than the path marked “Goka Falls.” The lower guard post is
usually unmanned except during the assassination mission, so cross the
river behind the building and head up the winding dirt path behind the
moored patrol boat. There will be ten or more hostiles at the lodge, so
be prepared to take out the one or two sentries on the north side of the
bridge, and then begin thinning the opposition as they appear on the
opposite side of the bridge. Take advantage of the channeling caused by
the narrow bridge walkway to eliminate the garrison. The hang glider is
on the rocks to the south of the waterfall. Negotiating the first narrow
canyon is tricky, but once you’re clear and pass over the lower guard
post you can see the canopy on the left rock ledge as you veer right
along the mountainside. Land on the ledge near the canopy to get the
diamond case. (3)

37:  From the bus station drive south off-road, staying in the desert
until east of the black dot on the island between the two fingers of the
waterway below the wider pool to the north. The diamond case is in the
southeast corner of the boathouse. If you have a silent weapon,
preferably the dart rifle, you can attempt to sneak in through the
doorway, conveniently placed near the diamond case. Three guards will be
near the building, so use your silent weapon if needed. Any commotion in
this area will draw numerous hostiles to your location. (2)

WEST SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-LEBOA-SEKA:  <LS05>

Cases: 15; Total diamonds in sector: 22

38:  At the extreme southwest corner of the map, on the west side of the
small mountain and east of the tracks, there is a diamond case under a
wooden canopy up on the mountain’s slope. This will be on the opposite
side of the mountain from the southwestern safe house. Climb the
hillside to access it. There is no opposition in this area. (3)

39:  The Police station is heavily defended. Make your approach from the
southeast. Take up a sniper position on the large rock outcropping
overlooking the bridge and take out the sniper on the north tower and
then the one with the rocket launcher on the far side of the bridge. Hit
the propane tank in front of the building to start a fire and then
proceed to clear the compound with your sniper rifle. Drop down from the
rocks and advance on the police station. Climb the series of crates on
the north end of the shack to gain the roof and then jump to the next
roof to get the diamond. (1)

40:  North of the police station there is a pass between the mountains
where you will get a locator signal. Climb the fallen tree against the
west cliff and jump down into the depression to get to the diamond case.
The only opposition will be from patrol trucks in this area, but when
you drive into this area you will definitely attract their attention.
Either park away from the pass and walk or be prepared to do battle with
them. (2)

41:  A diamond case sits on an old derelict car near a smoking fire pit
at the extreme northwest corner of the sector map. This is west of the
tracks. There are no patrol vehicles active in this area. (1)

42:  Southeast of the northwest guard post the main road intersects with
a dead-end road. Near that intersection there is a derelict bus
containing a diamond case. This immediate area is free of vehicle
patrols unless they follow you in. (1)

Jackal tape number 5: There is a dead-end road near the center of the
sector map. At its east end, near the mountain, there is a Jackal tape
lying near a corpse.

43:  On the west side of the north central riverside guard post there is
a shack with a boarded-up entrance. Knock out the boards to get the
diamond case. If you approach from the west be aware of a pair of guards
at the improvised guard post, which is indicated by black spots on your
map near the east side of the north central mountain. A foot patrol from
the river guard post regularly enters this area. (1)

44: There is a diamond case on the roof of the north central riverside
guard post, just east of the above location (43). Only two hostiles
patrol the area but if a firefight erupts it will draw in patrol boats
and guards from the improvised guard post if you left them standing. If
possible eliminate the guards silently. Climb the crates near the shack
to gain the walkway and then climb to the roof to get the diamonds. (2)

45:  There is a railway bridge over the river on the north central side
of the sector map. Under the west end of the bridge there is a diamond
case. This is the highest bridge-the lower is for vehicle traffic. Jump
down from the north side to acquire the diamonds. The closest opposition
is at that black dot on your map, which is the guard post to its
southwest. (2)

46:  There is an elevated safe house north of the east border’s guard
post and south of it there is a waterfall. Approach the area from the
west and look across the river. Eliminate any patrol and when no patrol
boats are nearby swim across the river and go behind the falls to find
the diamond case. Contact can be avoided by this western approach and by
listening for any patrol boats on the river. (3)

47:  There is a cellular tower a little southeast of the center area of
the map. Next to it is a wooden platform. There is a diamond case on top
of the platform. Walk silently to the platform and climb the ladder to
get it. Opposition is possible from the guard post to the northwest if
you are spotted. (1)

48:  Directly west of the west sector cellular tower there is a small
rock formation where the river bends into a horseshoe shape. North of
the guard post and against the rock wall, there is a derelict car with a
case on top. A silent walking approach will make this acquisition
uncontested. You will have to jump a low ledge to move through a narrow
pass to get to it. (2)

49:  The south central river guard post, just west of the junkyard has a
diamond case lying in a drainage pipe northwest of the guard post. By
walking silently into the area this case can be taken without incident.
(2)

50:  Four combatants man the river guard post on the west entrance of the
scrap salvage junkyard. Sneaking past is tough, so take the guard post.
Follow the cliff face toward the junkyard until you come to a junked bus
lying against a shipping container. This will be on the southwest side of
the junkyard. Knock out the boards blocking entry to the bus and go into the
shipping container to get the diamonds. This diamond case can also be
acquired by entering the area from the east and bypassing the junkyard. (2)

51:  On the east end of the salvage yard, the entry road from the east
assumes a wishbone shape. At the southern tip of that wishbone there is a
blue bus with a boarded-up entrance. Knock out those boards to get the
diamond. If you haven’t riled up the locals this should be uncontested. (1)

52:  In the southeast corner of the map there is a safe house. Just west of
the safe house, among a group of large boulders, there is a diamond case. If
you approach it quietly you can get it without enemy contact. Two hostiles
man the nearby safe house. (1)

PALA AREA DIAMONDS-LEBOA-SEKA:  <LS06>

Cases: 12; Total diamonds in sector: 21

53:  As you drive away from Mike’s bar your locator will flash. This is at
the first turn near the boat dock. Inside the metal shack there is a diamond
case. Use your machete to dislodge the boards on the rear side of the shack
to get the diamonds. (2)

54:  While driving north toward Pala from Mike’s Bar your locater will flash
just south of town. The diamond case is lying near a derelict car on the
west side of the road. There is no opposition near the Pala cease-fire area.
(1)

55:  There is a diamond case in the "forbidden zone" on the southeast
side of Pala. Park on the road leading to Mike's and silently approach
the rear of the garage on the southeast corner of town. The diamond case
is on the left side as you enter the garage from the rear. You may be
detected, so simply grab the diamonds and sprint back to your nearby
car. Drive far enough toward Mike's to clear the alert. (2)

56:  Drive back into town and park on the northwest side near the second
"forbidden zone." Crouch and go through the hole in the wall to enter
the building to your right. Most often you can sneak in and out without
detection. The diamond case is on a table to the left of the entrance.
If detected, shoot if necessary; but quickly drive out of town to clear
the alert. (2)

57:  Directly east of Pala there is a guard post. Drive southeast out of
town and park short of it. You can easily sneak past it by hugging the
southern rock face to bypass it. The case is on the east side of the
post sitting on a rock behind a rock formation. If mayhem is preferred
the post is manned by three hostiles and two others, roving in an
assault truck, may enter the skirmish if things turn noisy. The terrain
offers good cover to allow you to take the guard post. (2)

58:  Drive out of Pala on the northeast road, crossing the first bridge.
On your map you will see a rock formation that resembles an open-ended
wrench. Your flasher will not flash, but if you walk west from the road,
it will. The case is near a derelict car. There is no opposition this
close to the Pala cease-fire zone. (1)

59:  To the northeast of Pala there is an undefended bridge. Park near
it and follow the dirt path east of the bridge, going past the abandoned
shack, indicated by a black dot on your map, until you are forced to
continue in the water. After you take to the water look for the branch
of the river going northwest and take it until the east shoreline
becomes walk able. Follow the long, steep and winding path eastward to a
diamond case. By taking this route rather than the “Fresh Fish” route
you will encounter no hostiles. (2)

60:  The road into the north sector exits the Pala sector dead center
north. Just below the road’s north exit point, on the west side of the
road, there is a dead end path between two steep cliffs. Take that path
to find a hang glider overlooking the river. The diamond case can only
be acquired with a glider and it is only a short flight to the south. It
is up on the cliffs on the west side of the river. This is only about
half way to the bridge to the south. Take the glider and veer just
slightly right and look down to locate the shack that is visible through
the tree canopy. Land there to get the diamonds. Try not to land behind
the shack. You can get stuck there, forcing you to reload the file if
this occurs. Find a good spot to jump down into the river. (3)

61:  Drive southwest out of Pala, past the bus station, and over the
bridge. Park when you see a white car dead ahead. Walk north between the
rock formations, toward the river. Your locator will flash and you will
find a diamond case among a pile of small boulders. (1)

62:  From near the parked white car, mentioned in procedure 61, walk
south using the low drainage area on the east side of the long, narrow
mountain to approach and bypass the “Cock Fighting” area’s guard post.
The guard post has only three combatants if you prefer to take it. The
case is in a boarded-up metal shack near the cliff face, southeast of
the guard post. Knock out the boards to get the diamond. (1)

63:  The bridge to the east of the “Slaughter House” is patrolled by
three guards. Take it and continue west. Stop when halfway to the
“Slaughter House” and walk south into the indentation in the mountain.
You will get a signal. The diamond case is sitting near a junked car
near the cliff. (1)

64:  In the northwest corner of the sector map there is a black dot.
This is north of the “Slaughter House.” A dirt path near the “Slaughter
House’s” entrance road, on its east side, away from facility, leads to a
metal shack that has a diamond case on its roof. Except for the bridge
area and a possible patrol car on the main road, this will be unopposed.
(3)

EAST SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-LEBOA-SEKA  <LS07>

Cases: 12; Total diamonds in sector: 21

65:  East of the weapon shop, but on the opposite side of the mountain,
there is a shack where the road fades into the scrub. On the table in
that shack there is a diamond case. This area is free of hostiles. (1)

Golden AK-47: The AK-47 lies on the same table as diamond number 65.

66:  There is a safe house north of the east weapon shop. Northwest of
it, past the shallow pond, there is a diamond case lying on the ground.
This area is clear of hostiles. (2)

67:  West of the weapon shop there is a long narrow body of water. On
its southeast end, near the waterfall, there is a diamond case lying on
the rocks. Vehicle patrols from the guard post to the west frequent this
area. (3)

68:  In the southwest corner, west of the bridge and the guard post,
there is an overturned bus with a diamond case inside. By avoiding the
guard post and the safe house to the east this case can be obtained
without conflict. (2)

Jackal tape number 6: The tape is in the same derelict bus as is diamond
number 68.

69:  In the east central area there is a guard post south of “Private
Property”. There is a dirt path leading from the road that passes to the
rear of the guard post. The dirt path can be found by following the
east/west road near where it transitions into the Pala sector. The path
follows the mountain’s east face on the north side of the road. The
guard post has only two combatants, so either kill them or bypass the
post by staying on the path. The diamond case is on the rocks beyond the
guard post and to the left of the path. Jump onto the rocks before
descending the slope into the water and continue over the rocks to the
diamond case. (3)

70:  While this procedure may take you too far afield if you’re doing
the “Special Ops’ subverted mission, it works well for getting the
diamond from the villa. Do this at night and have a silent weapon just
in case. Take the patrol boat and travel east out of Pala, stopping well
short of the villa on the “Private Property.” Don’t go as far as the
safe house or you may be spotted and fired upon, placing the troops at
the villa on alert. Use the rocky ledges on the south side of the river
to make your approach, checking for sentries, who don’t usually frequent
the area east of the docks. Make your way toward the docks and before
reaching them go up the stairwells behind the garages. When no sentry is
present, head between the garages and use the crates to get onto the
roof of the garage. Crouch to maintain a low profile and cross the
ladder to the adjacent garage to get the diamond. Exit the same way. (1)

71:  East of the villa there is another diamond case sitting on the
south side of the river and to the west of the safe house. It is sitting
on a large fallen tree. Opposition is from both the villa’s large
garrison and from a patrol boat that frequents the area. Additional
hostiles from the safe house and the boat dock will join the fight if
things get noisy. Only careful silent operations will allow you to
penetrate to this case without a major confrontation with the large
spread out garrison. (1)

72:  Northwest of the villa there is a safe house. It is manned by three
hostiles. If you have entered the area by river via the Pala route, you
can take them out from the rock ledge across the river. The dart rifle
is essential for this since it won’t place the hostiles and their boat
crews just downriver on alert. Once the hostiles are down, jump into the
river and locate the diamonds on the north side of the safe house up
among the rocks sitting on a stump. (2)

73:  There is a guard post southwest of the OGC farm. It has a garrison
of five or six combatants and a patrolling assault truck is also based
there. It is difficult to sneak past it, so take it out. Continue up to
the west entryway of the farm. When you get past the fence, your locator
will flash. The diamond case is in the metal shack near the entrance.
Use the small boulder to vault to the larger boulder and then use the
ladder on the shack’s roof to get the diamond case below. Be aware that
occasional foot patrols are in this area. (1)

74:  Due north of the weapon shop, near the center of the map, there is
a crescent shaped mountain. This is on the south side of the OGC farm.
At the mid-point of that mountain there is a path where you will find a
diamond case. This will be uncontested except for the assault truck that
patrols the area roads. (2)

75:  On the east side of the OGC farm there is a guard post. There is a
diamond case up on the rocks on its north side. Jump from the small
boulders near the large metal canopy attached to the garage to gain the
narrow ledge above. Four guards man the post with two more patrolling to
the south and turning on the posts outskirts. This garrison must be
eliminated to have the time to get to the diamonds. (2)

76:  There is a safe house along the border in the northeast. Just south
of it, along the mountainside, there is a derelict car with a diamond
case on top. Two hostiles man the nearby safe house. (1)

SOUTHWEST SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-LEBOA-SEKA  <LS08>

Cases: 12; Total diamonds in sector: 21

77:  West of the southwest weapon shop there is a mountain. On its west
side there is a diamond case sitting on a derelict car. There is no
opposition in this remote area. (3)

78:  There is a safe house far to the north of the weapon shop. Just
north of that safe house, to the west of the tracks, there is a diamond
case sitting among a jumble of boulders. Stay off-road and to the west
to avoid the three occupants of the safe house. (1)

79: On the northwest side of the big lake, near the cliff face, there is
an abandoned shack with a diamond case inside. The only opposition in
this area is the three hostiles occupying the safe house to the
southwest and if you keep your distance they won’t bother you. (2)

80: From the above location go to the north end of the big lake, let the
patrol boat turn south and then swim across the lake at the narrow north
end. Walk down its eastern side and about halfway down there is a
diamond case. Keep your eye on that patrol boat as you skirt the lake,
but the east shoreline is safe territory. (3)

81:  From the above location, walk east angling to emerge on the road
southeast of the safe house. Allow the patrol truck to pass and cross
the road and then sprint north before it can return. Or just eliminate
it. A diamond case sets in a depression on the east side of the road.
(2)

82:  A safe house sits in a canyon in the north central area, just west
of case number 81. It is manned by three hostiles and a noisy firefight
there will likely draw the assault truck that patrols the road to the
east, if you haven’t eliminated it. The case is at the end of the canyon
beyond the safe house. (1)

83:  Northeast of the weapon shop there is a small pond. The diamond
case is setting on a rock at the edge of the water. There is no
opposition in the area. (2)

Golden AK-47: The AK-47 is in a cave on the northeast side of the shoe-
shaped mountain to the northeast of the weapon shop. Knock the boards
out of the entrance of the cave to get the weapon.

Jackal tape no 7: Go northeast from the small lake northeast of the
weapon shop. The Jackal tape is on a crashed plane near the highlands
overlooking the depressed area to the north. The steep terrain makes an
eastern approach impossible. There is no opposition in this area.

84:  East of the bus station there is a safe house manned by three
guards. The diamond case is in the boxcar with a wooden ramp entryway.
Kill the guards, and then knock down the boards to get the diamonds.
When the firefight erupts, watch your back for the patrolling assault
truck. (2)

85:  There is a small lake between two mountains in the east central
area. A metal shack on the south side of the lake contains a diamond
case. Take out the three guards to get the diamonds. The high ground
near the mountains to its west is an ideal sniping spot. One of these
guards may be on patrol farther north but he will quickly return if a
noisy confrontation starts. (2)

86:  Due north of the bus station there is a guard post. Four hostiles
man it and a patrolling car haunts the road to the east. The garrison
must be eliminated to get to the diamond case on the main shack’s roof.
Access it by jumping from the wooden crate to metal container and then
using the ladder to gain the roof. (1)

87:  At the south end of the lake there is a guard post. It is manned by
three hostiles that must be eliminated to get to the diamond. Two are
generally in the upper area and one near the lake. The case is down near
the lake on the lower shack’s roof. You get to it by jumping on the two
cardboard boxes and then onto the roof. (1)

88:  An underground house is located northwest of the bus station and to
the east of the large triangular mountain. When an underground mission
to it is active it will be guarded, but it will be free of opposition at
any other time. The diamond case is behind the building, sitting on a
wooden crate. (1)

SOUTH SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-LEBOA-SEKA:  <LS09>

Cases: 12; Total diamonds in sector: 21

89:  South of the Pala sector, where the southern sector begins, there
is a guard post to the east of the bridge. Five guards, including a
sniper who is stationed near the bridge’s east side, man the guard post.
Take the patrol boat from the dock near Mike’s Bar and moor it north of
the facility, on the eastern shore. With care you can then swim along
the rocks to just past the bridge where you can get onto the rocks and
take the diamonds without a confrontation. If you’re not the careful
type you can climb the hill from where you moored your boat and locate
and then take out the sniper overlooking the bridge. Use the small
boulder to mask your position; and then eliminate the other hostiles.
Once clear you can jump down to the diamond case, which is under the
east side of the bridges framework. (3)

90: A guard post is positioned near the mouth of the canyon in the north
central area. The diamond case is located at the base of a wooden
platform there. Two guards usually man this post but they tend to
wander. A pesky patrol car also haunts the road to its south and will
respond to any noisy altercation and the guard post will respond if you
confront the car nearby. Clear the post to get the diamonds. (2)

91:  The canyon in the northeast part of the map is the western approach
to Mokuba. Along the canyon’s south rock wall there is a waterfall. A
diamond case lies near the falls. A patrol car frequents the south road
near the canyon. (2)

92:  In the extreme northeast corner of the map there is a safe house,
guarding the canyon’s east end. The safe house is elevated high up on
the cliff, and its two guards must be taken out to get the diamond case
behind the building. Jump over the sandbags and carefully move around
the narrow ledge to get the diamonds. (2)

93:  A guard post is located on the river in the east central area.
There is a diamond case on the south side of the river behind the patrol
boat and under the dock. If you watch for the sentries to be out of the
area, you can swim over and take the diamond without an altercation. A
firefight will draw several assault trucks to assist the guard post’s
garrison. (1)

94:  Directly east of the north central safe house there is a small
island. On that island there is a diamond case sitting near a large
boulder. There is no opposition in the immediate area. (2)

95:  The east-west road intersects the railroad tracks south of “Claes”
chemical works. On the northeast side of the intersection, down in the
water, a diamond case sets among the rocks. There is no opposition in
this area. (3)

96:  Guarding the southeast entrance to “Claes Products” there is a
guard post. It has a garrison of three. Kill them to get access to the
diamond case. Use the sandbags against the building to get to its roof.
A firefight may also draw hostiles from “Claes” to investigate the
ruckus. (1)

97:  Approach “Claes Products” chemical works from the south. This place
has a garrison of eight, so begin by sniping from long distance to thin
the opposition. Watch your back; the firefight may draw reinforcements
from the guard post to the southeast, if you haven’t killed them. One of
the enemies will also man the mounted machine gun south of the main
“Claes” building. When the area is clear, go into the big building and
climb the stairwell to gain the upper walkway. Jump onto and then over
the railing and onto the top of the broken-down delivery truck to get
the diamond. (1)

98:  Drive to the airport, staying south of the octagonal border, as
indicated on your map, and park south of the east hanger. Use the large
rock outcropping to mask your presence. Move stealthily until you come
to the rounded boulder due south of the east hanger. Look east and take
out the sniper in the tower with your dart rifle, or wait until he is
looking away to continue. Allow the assault truck to turn and head east
and then check for guards to the rear of the facility. Move quickly
across the runway and into the orange cargo container on the east side
of the east hanger to get the diamond. Once again allow the assault
truck to turn and head east. Check for sentries and then get back to
your car. (1)

99:  East of the airport, beyond the runway, there is a smoking car next
to a large baobab tree. On that car there is a diamond case. The pesky
sniper in the tower on the east airport border provides the only
opposition in this area. (1)

Jackal tape number 8: There is a mountain on the southeast margin of the
map. The black dot there is the site of a crashed plane. The Jackal tape
lies under a nearby canopy. There are no hostiles at the site.

100: There is a large three-sided mountain north of the airport. At the
mid-point of the mountain’s east side, there is a diamond case sitting
behind a boulder. A patrol car routinely prowls the roads in this area.
(2)

SOUTHEAST SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-LEBOA-SEKA:  <LS10>

Cases: 12; Total diamonds in sector: 21

101: There is a diamond case behind the southeast bus station, near the
rear wall. A patrolling assault truck frequents the road in front of the
bus station. (2)

102: There is a safe house southeast of the bus station with a large
pair of rock formations east of it. The diamond case is in the depressed
cutout on the far eastern side of those two formations. There is no
opposition in this area unless you attract the attention of the assault
truck near the bus station or wander too close to the safe house. (3)

103: To the west of the oasis there is a large double rock formation, as
is seen on your game map. The diamond case is in the canyon between them
near the southern mountain. There is no opposition in this area. (2)

104: Near the center of the oasis in the southeast corner of the map,
east of the pond, there is a diamond case lying in the sand. This area
is free of hostiles unless the “Special Ops.” mission or the Quarbani
Singh buddy mission is in progress. (1)

105: This diamond case is west of the southwestern safe house, but it is
high up on the cliffs and will require you to take or skirt the safe
house. The safe house can easily be taken by staying on the high ground
above the sandy expanse below as you approach it in your vehicle. Stop
near the mountain just northeast of it and snipe the three defenders
from the ledges above it. Drive west past the safe house and about
three-fourths of the way down the mountain, park near the sandy incline.
Walk east along the grassy path and the rock ledges to get to the
diamonds. If you bypassed the safe house, hostiles may await you when
you return to your vehicle. (3)
</pre><pre id="faqspan-2">
106: There is a diamond case south of the roadway and south of the
oblong lake shown on the west central side of the game map. This
location is northeast of the underground location shown as a black dot
on your map. It is difficult to locate a route up the cliffs if you try
to approach it from the north so the best approach is from either the
remote canyon on the extreme southwestern part of the map or the
patrolled roadway going west from the guard post southwest of the bus
stop. Watch for a patrolling truck. Use the underground house located to
its southwest and your locator to find the diamond in an abandoned camp
near a TV set in the low area north of the roadway. (1)

107: At the far west end of the oblong lake, in the central west part of
your map, there is a diamond case under an abandoned canopy. There are
no boat patrols on the lake but an assault truck patrols the road on the
bluffs above this location. (1)

108: There is a large oblong lake in the central west part of your map.
Near the north end of the lake on its north shore there is an abandoned
boat dock and just west of it is a narrow canyon. This is also on the
north side of the lake. You will find the diamond case after the canyon
opens up. It will be on a boulder against the mountainside. You will
find both a boat and an assault truck at the abandoned camp if you
backtrack. An assault trucks patrols the nearby roadway. (2)

109: Directly west of the bus station there is a guard post. This is
near the center of the sector map. If you avoid contact with the assault
truck whose turnaround point is the guard post, you can park away from
the facility and sneak in to get the diamond without battling its four
guards. It is in an abandoned truck on the east outskirts of the large
facility. (1)

Golden AK-47: There is a lake south of the central guard post. On the
east side of the lake, obscured by bushes, there is a small nook. The
AK-47 is on the rocks in there. This can be obtained without contact if
you don’t rile up the guard posts to the north or east. The road to the
north is routinely patrolled.

110: North of the bus station there is a black dot out in the desert. It
is an improvised guard post with three guards. A diamond case sets on
the roof of a derelict bus. For less “jumping” frustration, use the hood
of your vehicle or of the dune buggy parked there to access it. (2)

Jackal tape number 9: Next to bus near diamond number 110.

111: North of the guard post on the main roadway, which is northwest of
the bus station, there is a lake on the east side of the road. A diamond
case is located on a large rocky knoll on the north side of that lake.
Climb the grassy slope on its south side to gain access to the high
ground where you will find the diamond case on a boulder near a corpse.
(2)

112: Getting the single diamond in Mokuba can be quite difficult and can
be tackled in two ways-go in blazing or go in quiet. Either way, you
will come out blazing. Here’s how to go in quiet. Have the dart rifle
and the shotgun. Enter from the north. When you see the “50” sign begin
silent operations. Sneak alongside the boulder on the path that splits
right from the road and hit the RPG sniper in the head with a dart. Do
this when the wandering sentry is not near him. Go east along the rocky
hillside and drop down behind the windmill. Carefully check for any
sentries and go around the windmill’s left side and between the two
metal fences. Check for hostiles and drop down to the bus. This is where
the diamond is. You have to go around the bus, so do so. In all
likelihood you will be seen at this point, so get the diamond and go
back around the bus, back up between the fences and then go east, past
the big metal shack and up the hill near the garaged assault truck. All
this time using the shotgun as needed. This route, if you do things
quickly, will have only a few of the facilities spread out garrison to
fight. Get back out via the north road. (1)

CENTRAL DESERT DIAMOND LOCATIONS: LEBOA-SEKA:  <CD11>

Cases: 4; Total diamonds in sector: 10

113: The railroad track disappears into the sands in the north central
part of the map. At the end of the line, there is a wrecked railcar with
a diamond case inside. Assault trucks routinely patrol the central
desert roads. (2)

114: South of the railroad tracks, on the maps northwest side, the road
turns south. An abandoned bus sits there alongside the road and in it
there is a diamond case. Assault trucks routinely patrol these central
desert roads. (3)

Note:  It is possible to reenter the north sector of Leboa-Seka at any
time; but the south sector, Bowa-Seka, is off limits until operations in
the north are completed.

CENTRAL DESERT DIAMOND LOCATIONS: BOWA-SEKA:

115: At the midpoint of the desert road you will see a blue dune buggy
sitting near an adobe dwelling that has seen better times. Park your
vehicle or the buggy next to it and jump on it to get atop the
structure. Assault trucks routinely patrol these central desert roads.
(2)

116: In the southwest corner of the map, the railroad tracks have been
covered over by drifting sand. At the north end of that stretch there is
a diamond case. Assault trucks routinely patrol these central desert
roads. (3)

NORTHWEST SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-BOWA-SEKA:  <BS12>

Cases: 8; Total diamonds in sector: 15

117: Southwest of the bus stop there is a backwater at the river’s end.
Among the rocks just north of the east end of the mountain there is a
diamond case. There is no opposition in the area. (2)

118: A large horseshoe-shaped mountain dominates the north central area.
At its southern mid-point there is a lake, and the black dot north of it
is a crude guard post manned by three hostiles. A diamond case is
located among the rock ledges just north of it, and is accessible from
the east side of the cliffs. If you enter along the cliff face from the
east, you can probably get the diamonds without a confrontation, but the
high ground make the defenders easy pickins’. (3)

119: Southwest of the weapon shop, well out in the desert, and about
halfway to the guard post to the south, there is an abandoned train
wreck. This is well west of the railroad tracks. A diamond case sits in
one of the rail cars. The only opposition in the area will be generated
by confronting the frequent vehicle patrols, both an assault truck and
an SUV, in the area or by challenging the guard post to the south of the
weapon shop. Four hostiles man the post and they have two additional
assault trucks, which they will readily board. Driving in this area near
the guard post is an invitation for conflict, so park well north of it
if you want to avoid contact. (2)

120: At the southwest corner of the sector map there is a short dead end
road. A crude frontier guard post with four troops and another in a
patrolling SUV man it. The dart rifle, with the ammo upgrade, will allow
you to eliminate the garrison from the rocks to its north quite easily.
A firefight here will also draw the two hostiles from the nearby safe
house. The diamond case sits on the roof of a derelict bus and is
accessible by an attached ladder. (1)

121: Southeast of the safe house in the southwest corner of the map,
south of the water, there is a diamond case sitting on the rocks behind
a wrecked bus. Any opposition will come from either the safe house or
the guard post to the west. (1)

Jackal tape number 10: A Jackal tape lies on the ground in front of the
bus near diamond case 121 above. There are no hostiles at the site but
there are two guards at the nearby safe house that will challenge you if
provoked.

122: Southwest of Sefapane there is an elevated safe house manned by two
guards. On the south side of the river, to the southwest of the safe
house, and up on the cliffs, there is a diamond case. Jump onto the
rocks east of the case; go past the palm tree, along the rock ledge and
then walk over the log bridge to get to the diamonds. (3)

123: On the southeast side of Sefapane there is a tall tower. Knock out
the boards over its entrance and climb the two ladders to get the
diamond case. Sefapane is a cease-fire zone, so you would have to
provoke any hostilities. (1)

124: Drive south out of Sefapane on the east road and stop when you are
about halfway between Sefapane and the west sector, as shown on your
map. Drive east toward the mountain and you will get a locator signal.
The diamond case is up among the rocks near a smoking bonfire, which you
can easily see at night. There is no opposition in this area. (2)

NORTH SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-BOWA-SEKA:  <BS13>

Cases: 15; Total diamonds in sector: 28

125: In the extreme northeast corner of the map, on the north side of
the mountain north of the safe house, there is a derelict car out in the
desert. A diamond case lies next to it. You must drive off-road to get
to it. Opposition while operating in this area will come from either the
assault truck patrolling east/west roadway or from the northeast safe
house. Three hostiles guard the safe house and will board an assault
truck parked there to challenge your incursion. It is easier to pick
your ground and reduce their threat on your terms. (2)

126: Near the north center margin of the map, midway between the two
safe houses, there is a “Mertens-Segolo” billboard just north of the
road. The diamond case can be found near the billboard. An assault truck
routinely patrols this area. (1)

127: Northwest of the northwest safe house there is an abandoned shack.
The shack lays in a depression between two rock outcroppings and in it
is a diamond case. This can be taken without opposition from the safe
house by approaching it from the east by driving off-road. Three guards
occupy the nearby safe house. There is a dune buggy at that location as
well. (2)

128: The black dots at the north center of the map, to the west of the
Outpost, are actually a sizable village of mud huts. It is garrisoned by
only four troops who can easily be sniped from the surrounding rock
outcroppings. The diamonds are on the roof of a hut on the west side of
the village and can be accessed by jumping from the boulder to the
thatched roof and then to the roof of the hut with the diamond case. (2)

129: A diamond case is lying on a derelict car on the west outskirts of
the Outpost. During the night you can sneak in and take it without being
seen from the village. The biggest threat is the sniper in the river
watchtower and the frequent patrol vehicles near the Outpost. (1)

130: Northeast of the Outpost, in the ruins, there is a diamond case
sitting in the water among the boulders. Any opposition would be from
assault trucks from the Outpost or from the safe house to the north. If
you approach this location from the northeast weapon shop, parking
southeast of the safe house, this case can be obtained with no
opposition. (2)

131: On the east central border of the sector map there is a mountain
that continues east into the adjacent sector. On its south side, there
is a small cave in which you will find a diamond case. You must go
around the south side and enter the grotto from the southeast side.
There is no opposition in this remote area and there is a dune buggy on
the west side of the mountain. (3)

132: Due north of Sediko, on the north side of the mountain, you will
see a ladder lying on the ground and you will get a signal. Forget the
ladder and go a ways west to where the rock forms a ramp. Jump onto the
rock ramp and follow the ledge around to a thatched canopy where you
will find the diamond case. There should be no opposition in the
immediate area. (3)

133: Having the dart rifle with the ammo upgrade takes much of the pain
out of tackling Sediko. You can’t sneak into Sediko and get the diamond.
The garrison of more than a dozen must be suppressed. Start by sniping
from the bushes on the northwest. From there you can locate and kill the
sniper on the roof of the building containing the diamond case. Use your
tracker if need be to orient yourself. The dart rifle can then allow you
to take out much of the opposition without them knowing where you are.
When they begin to flow to your position, change it by moving around the
perimeter of the village, taking out the hostiles, as they are kind
enough to come into your sights. When eight are down, you can make your
move on the diamond, using the shotgun or assault rifle as you go. A
long log staircase will get you to the roof where you must dislodge the
boards to enable you to drop to the upper floor to get the diamond. (1)

134: Northwest of Sediko there is a large grassy knoll overlooking the
river to its north. This is on the north end of the large area between
the roads west of Sediko. The bridge is to the west and the guard post
to the east of the location. A diamond case sits atop the large knoll
near a dead tree. Approach it along the grassy slope from the southeast
for best access. Patrol trucks haunt the bordering roads and any
commotion will draw hostiles from Sediko and/or from the guard post-so
tread warily. (2)

135: Southwest of the Outpost, near the center of the large area bounded
by roads, and east of the guard post near Dogon Village, there is a
derelict car sitting in the dry grass near a dead tree. A diamond case
sits near it. (1)

Golden AK-47: In the extreme south central area, south of the undefended
bridge, there is a black dot at the end of a dead-end road. This is an
elevated guard post manned by four hostiles. Take them out and go to the
overlook near the hang glider. If you look over the side you can see the
AK-47 lying on the rocks below. Slide down the slope to get the weapon.

Dogon village has 2 diamond cases:

Procedure for cases 136 and 137: Have the dart rifle for this mission.
Drive up to the two large rock formations northeast of the village and
continue into the wooded pass between them on foot.

Jump down to the roadway and go left or south. Stay on the dirt path,
going right at the “T’ junction until a tall conical mud hut looms ahead
through the opposing boulders. If you go right up the grassy slope you
will come to a barrel and a pile of sandbags. Remember the path and
continue south on the dirt path. As soon as there is a break in the
cliff on your left, move up the steep grassy/rocky slope and struggle
onto the boulder on the hillside. Look directly west and you will see a
pair of conical huts with thatched roofs. Look a bit to their right and
just above their height to locate the sniper with a mortar in the cutout
of a flat roofed hut. You can’t spot him from below. He wears white and
frequently crouches making him a bit hard to see. Take him out with the
dart rifle.

Check the area below to be clear and move down off the hillside and go
north to the sandbagged area mentioned earlier. Check the alleyway ahead
to be clear of hostiles and then move along the rock face to your right,
staying out of the enemy’s sightline as much as possible. Move to the
first tall hut on the left and climb the long ladder to get to the roof.
Immediately crouch down to break the enemies line-of-sight. If you
failed to eliminate the sniper with the mortar he will alert the town by
pummeling you with mortar rounds.

Hopefully you have purchased the marksman's bandolier giving you extra
rounds. Take your time and when you spy a hostile and you have a good
shot, take him down. Try to make every shot count. Headshots are not
required. Crouch down to maintain your concealment when necessary. When
the enemy can’t locate you they will begin hunting, making them easier
prey. They will never come up the ladder, but if you remain in their
sight line they may toss a grenade onto the rooftop. When your darts run
out, the remaining garrison should be manageable with the shotgun or
assault rifle.

136: The first case is on the roof of a square hut on the north central
side of the village. Reach it by jumping onto the thatched roof west of
it, then to the roof of the next hut, then to the next thatched roof and
finally onto the roof with the case. (2)

137: Take the dirt path on the village’s north side staying near the
mountainside. Bear right at the ammo pile and go past the red barrel, go
up the dirt path to the stairwell. Continue up it and go right when the
dirt path splits. Go past the red burning barrel and up the stairwell
going right when it splits. At the top is the diamond case. (1)

Jackal tape number 11: This tape is in the upper area northwest of the
Dogon village. Go north past the glider and down the rock stairwell.
Continue north through the ruins to find the tape sitting on a makeshift
bench. Procedure 137 will place you in the upper area of the Dogon
village.

138: A single road enters the north sector from the west. It is at the
center of your map on the west border. Look for an obscure dirt path
shortly after crossing into the north sector on the north side of the
road. A long winding path leads to a thatched hut with a diamond case
inside. There is no enemy activity in this area. (3)

139: Sitting east of the mountain, in the southwest corner of the map,
there is a round lake. On the lake’s west side, behind a rock, there is
a diamond case. The underground facility to its east will be free of
opposition unless an underground mission to it is in progress. This area
is most easily approached from the Port Saleo sector but can also be
accessed via the narrow canyon southwest of the southwest safe house. An
assault truck patrols the road east of this area. (2)

NORTHEAST SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-BOWA-SEKA:  <BS14>

Cases: 15; Total diamonds in sector: 27

140: Due north of the northeast weapon shop, on the east side of the
mountain, there is a diamond case lying on the ground near a small
boulder. There are no hostiles in that vicinity, but a patrol truck with
a grenade launcher monitors the road near the weapon shop on its
circuit. (1)

141: Well into the arid grasslands and due north of the northeast bus
station there is a diamond case sitting on the sand near an isolated
rock outcropping. There is no opposition in the area so far north of the
main roadway. (3)

142: Northwest of the northeast safe house there is a collection of
large boulders. Among them there is a diamond case. Driving anywhere
near the safe house may bring its two guards to investigate. (2)

143: In the northeast corner of the map, there are two mountains just
north of Sepoko. To the north of the east mountain there is an abandoned
truck with a diamond case inside. There is no opposition this far north
of Sepoko unless you antagonize Sepoko’s garrison by passing too close.
Approach the location from the northwest to avoid conflict. (2)

144: Sepoko has a large garrison, with a sniper tower on the north end
and a patrolling sentry with an RPG, but this garrison is spread out
over a large area. If you approach from the north at night and take out
the north end sniper with the dart rifle you can sneak in through the
hole in the fence near the sniper tower and get the diamond case. It is
on the roof near the sniper tower. Check the area to be clear and
quickly climb the tower, locate the case on the outer wall, and jump to
the top of the metal fence and “tightrope” walk it to the roof. At most
you will have one chance to do this before being discovered. If it comes
to a battle the tower is a decent place to defend. (1)

145: West of Sepoko, there is a lake on the west side of a small
mountain. On the east side of that mountain, near its mid-point, there
is a dirt path leading to a diamond case that is sitting near the rock
face. A smoky fire marks its location. Unless you get too close to
Sepoko or to the guard post to the southwest, provoking a chase vehicle,
a foot patrol or the RPG sniper, there is no enemy activity in the area.
(1)

146: South of Sepoko there is a mountain. On the south side of that
mountain, near the corrugated metal fence, there is a diamond case. This
area cannot be approached from the east because the fence blocks the
entire east frontier area south of Sepoko. Watch for the periodic
patrolling of assault trucks on the road to the west of the fence. (2)

147: Southwest of the southeast guard post, on the west side of the
road, there is a diamond case lying near a series of rock ledges. This
is well south of the guard post. The guard post can usually be bypassed
by staying in the depressed area near the eastern mountain. Four
troopers man the guard post and a pair of patrol trucks may investigate
any ruckus in the area and join in the action. On occasion you may
encounter a lone patrolling sentry near the diamond case. (2)

148: To the west of the central guard post there is a diamond case lying
on a grassy hill. Whenever near the central guard post be aware of the
sniper with the RPG who overlooks the open areas to the north of the
guard post. There are additional hostiles at the guard post, one with a
sniper rifle, and action there will draw both assault trucks and SUVs
from their patrol routes. Keep your distance from this guard post. (1)

149: Due south of the central guard post there is an elevated safe
house. North of it, below on the dirt path, lies a diamond case. Two
guards man the safe house and one of them will target you with a
Dragonov sniper rifle if you go for the diamonds before taking him out,
so be aware as you approach the area. (3)

150: There is a safe house in the south central part of the map. East of
it, lying near the cliff there is a diamond case. The safe house is
unguarded but the guard post to the west has a garrison of four, one
with an RPG and another with a sniper rifle and it is the base for an
SUV patrolling the area. There is also a parked assault truck that they
will board to give chase. (1)

151: There is a guard post in the southwest area. To its northwest,
above the lake and near the rock face, there is a diamond case lying on
the ground. A smoky fire will reveal its position among the rocks. The
nearby guard post is manned by two hostiles but one has a rocket
launcher. He will be high on the rocks to the south. (2)

152: A small lake lies east of the safe house in the southwest corner.
On the far west side of that lake there is a diamond case sitting on a
crate near a dead tree. There is no active opposition in the immediate
area but three combatants guard the safe house to the northeast. (1)

Jackal tape number 12: To the northwest of the above case (152) there is
a Jackal tape on the shoreline of the lake near an abandoned delivery
truck.

153: South of the crash site there is a safe house on the north side of
a long finger-like mountain. Approach the safe house, on foot, from the
east, staying close to the north face of the mountain. When in close
locate the sniper with the RPG on the rocks to the east of the safe
house. Kill him and his buddy and then save at the safe house. On the
ridge to the rear of the safe house there is a dirt path. Take it north
and follow it around to a hang glider. The diamond case is on the cliff
ahead-you can see it with a sniper scope sitting near some blue
containers. Pilot the hang glider straight ahead, veering slightly left
to miss the large rock outcropping. You will see the glint of the
diamond case and other debris on the ledge when you pass the big tree.
Land on the ledge and take the diamonds. (3)

154: West of the weapon shop there is a canyon between the two
mountains. Enter the canyon and when you see the orange car, climb onto
the ledge behind it to get the diamond case. There is no opposition in
this area except for the patrolling assault truck that goes east at the
junction near the weapon shop. (2)

WEST SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-BOWA-SEKA:  <BS15>

Cases: 15; Total diamonds in sector: 27

155: On the southwest side of the west sector map, there is a cellular
antenna. Southwest of it, in the desert and well west of the road, there
is a large tree and under it there is a thatched canopy next to an
abandoned water well. Under the canopy there is a diamond case. If this
area is approached from the southwest sector you can avoid confrontation
by driving through the desert in the allowable western margin of the
map. (2)

Jackal Tape number 13:  The Jackal tape is lying near the above diamond
case number 155.

156: There is a safe house in the grassland southwest of the Post
Office. Southwest of it on the east side of the jutting mountain there
is a diamond case lying on the ground near a dune buggy. This area is
free of enemy activity if you keep your distance from the safe house,
which is guarded by two hostiles. An SUV also patrols the roadway north
of the safe house. (3)

157: South of the cellular tower, on the south side of the road’s
junction, there is a diamond case sitting inside a thatched hut. Beware
of vehicle patrols in the area. (2)

158: North of the southwest guard post, near the cellular tower, and up
on the slope of the mountain, there is a diamond case in a thatched hut.
Swim across the water north of the guard post and you can walk up to it,
if you approach it from the south side. You can stay away from the guard
post to avoid a confrontation with its three defenders or you can snipe
them from the elevated rocks to their west. An SUV also uses the post as
its turnaround point as it turns back to the south. (3)

159: There is an observation tower on the northwest corner of the Ranger
Station area, as marked on your map. Up in that tower there is a diamond
case. The tower itself is usually unmanned but a pesky car is frequently
in the area on patrol. (1)

160: Have the sniper rifle for this task. The tourist resort has a large
garrison that includes a sniper with an RPG. He is on a platform on the
west side near the middle conical hut. Enter from the southwest via the
ranger station and take out the RPG sniper. Continue sniping and then
hit the large fuel tank on the resort’s west side to start a fire. Swim
across the river on the west side and advance on the resort with an
assault rifle or shotgun. The diamond case is located near the platform
where the RPG operator was and is situated so that you must blow off the
thatched roof above it before it is available. Use a grenade or the
grenade launcher. Sprint forward and jump on the small box behind the
case to grab the diamond. The survivors will be quick to respond so use
a shotgun or assault rifle as needed to make your escape. (1)

161: In the northwest corner of the west sector map, on the southwest
side of the mountain there is a cemetery near the cliff face. In the
cemetery there is a grave covered over with thatch. Blow it out with a
grenade to get the diamonds. This area will oftentimes have a pair of
hostiles on foot patrol in the roadway near the cemetery. (3)

162: West of the dental clinic there is a guard post. Southwest of it
are two thatched huts. Knock out the boards in the entrance of the one
with the diamond case. A car routinely patrols this road and, if you
approach this area from the west, be prepared to deal with the three
defenders of the safe house to the west. (1)

163: On the river east of the Ranger Station the shoreline cliffs break
allowing you to get ashore on its north bank. You can either boat or
swim there to find a diamond case. It is in a small grotto. You may take
sniper fire from the tourist resort if you came by boat. (2)

164: West of the Dental Clinic there is a guard post. It has a garrison
of three with two more coming and going in an assault truck. The diamond
case is just north of the post in a cluttered-up drainage ditch. Unless
you approach this facility from the north you will have to eliminate the
hostiles. If you drive south out of Sefapane, you can park north of the
guard post and walk up to the diamond case, using the deep gully on the
east side of the road. (2)

165: Have the dart rifle for this quest. Approach the Dental clinic from
the west during darkness. When the huts come into view look for the
sniper on the hillside platform north of the facility. If he is put down
before he fires, you can check for sentries and then move forward, jump
onto the boulders near the low triangular log enclosure and get to the
diamond case without alerting the large garrison. If seen, go to war.
(1)

166: To the north of the Post Office the river expands into a lake-like
lobe. Near its southeast side there is an island, as shown on your map.
Next to a bonfire on this small islet there is a diamond case. There are
no hostiles on the islet but if a patrol is near the boat dock to the
east they will respond if you venture near it or if you are conspicuous
on the lake or on the islet. (1)

167: On the northeast side of the Post Office there is a safe house. The
long path to it starts at the southeast end of the small mountain. The
case is on a rock ledge north of the safe house. Jump up to it using the
smaller boulders near the bluffs overlooking the river. This area is the
stomping ground for an assault truck equipped with a grenade launcher.
(2)

168: There are two cases at the Post office. The first is on the roof a
small building on the northwest side of the compound. If you sneak to
the north end of the compound and silently eliminate the sentry
patrolling the northern area, you can climb the ladder to the roof of
the small structure to get the case without heavy combat. If you are
discovered the facilities large garrison will make life difficult. (1)

169: The second case is in a large concrete drainage tile on the west
side of the facility. There are several junked vehicles nearby. If you
have a silent weapon and use the depressed area west of the property to
move, you can acquire the case without heavy contact. If mayhem is
preferred, the hill to the east of the facility is an excellent post for
a sniper rifle and the large propane tank is a tempting target. (2)

PORT SALEO DIAMOND LOCATIONS-BOWA-SEKA:  <BS16>

Cases: 12; Total diamonds in sector: 23

170: On the southeast side of the Port Saleo bus station there is an
orange shipping container. Inside it there is a diamond case. There is
no opposition in this area. (2)

171: In Port Saleo climb the long ladder on the big central blue and
white building. Go to the northwest side of the roof and jump to the
wall and then down onto the thatched roof. Jump over to the balcony to
get the diamond case. There will be no opposition in the cease-fire
zone. (3)

172: On the south side of Port Saleo there is a tall tower. Climb to the
top floor using the ladders inside to get to the diamond case. There
will be no opposition in the cease-fire zone. (1)

173: Commandeer the boat at the lakeside dock near the Port Saleo bus
station and pilot it to the narrow canyon whose entrance is on the north
side of Sehlakalase Island. Moor at the boat dock on the west side of
the waterway and climb the dirt path.

Jackal tape number 14:  Enter the hut and drop down to its basement to
find a Jackal tape.

Exit the hut and turn east and follow the path to the river. Turn right,
or south, and jump down to the narrow ledges. Walk the ledges
overlooking the river to get to the diamond case. Unlike the earlier
barge ride there will be no opposition on the lake and no hostiles at
the hut. Jump down into the river after retrieving the diamonds and swim
back to your boat. (2)

174: Directly south of the bus station there is a large island. It is to
the west of Sehlakalase Island. As you pilot your boat south and then
west clockwise around its southern side you will see three dead trees
and a conical boulder in the water. Go around them and continue west to
the one that looks like an enormous bon-bon. A palm tree will be just
beyond it on the shore. Hop over the side of the boat and swim into the
narrow grotto in the rock wall. This is just opposite the bon-bon
boulder. The diamond case is located in the grotto. There should be few
or no boat patrols in the area. (3)

175: There is a bridge on the southwest side of the map. South of the
bridge there is a waterfall and alongside it there is a diamond case
near a derelict car. If you park near the junction away from the bridge
and then sneak into the ravine, staying near the mountainside to the
south of the roadway you can avoid the bridge’s defenders and their
chase vehicles. Driving anywhere near this guard post will provoke
hostilities. Four or five troopers defend it and they have the higher
ground making sniping them more difficult. (2)

176: West of Port Saleo near the west end of the sector map there is a
tiny lake just east of a small mountain. This is a bit west of the
railroad tracks. At the lake’s southern edge there is an overturned
truck. The case lies inside the truck among a bunch of debris. While
there are no hostiles in the immediate area there is an old produce
market north near the crossroads that is manned by two or three
hostiles. You can steal an SUV there if you want wheels. (1)

177: Near the northwest border, southwest of the safe house, there is an
abandoned vehicle in the scrub well north of the tracks. Next to it
there is a diamond case. This immediate area is quiet, with a patrol
truck using the roadway due west as its turnaround point as it turns
back north. (2)

178: East of Port Saleo there is a guard post and boat dock. It is
manned by six hostiles, two of which are usually near the boat dock,
with four at the adjacent guard post. The diamond case is in the
boathouse near the river. If you silently eliminate any sentries near
the boat dock, you can sneak in and get the diamond without taking on
the entire guard post. (1)

179: The weapon shop is northeast of Port Saleo. To the rear of the
armory, on the east side, there is a boarded-up storage area attached to
the building. Knock out the boards to get the diamond. (1)

180: North of Port Saleo there is a large island. On the north side, at
its mid-point, there is a small camp with a boat moored near it. Two
combatants occupy the camp. Pilot the boat north out the cove at Port
Saleo and go counterclockwise around the island and land east of the
island’s mid-point near the enormous palm. Walk around the boulder and
approach the camp along the shoreline. Take the two hostiles out and
take the diamond case from among the supply cartons in their camp. (2)

181: In the northwest corner of the map there is a safe house west of a
guard post. Beyond the guard post there is a diamond on a low but
seemingly inaccessible rock shelf, and from ground level it is. Take out
the three defenders at the lofty safe house in the northwest corner and
save your game, advancing time to night. Locate the nearby hang glider.
Making this flight anytime but night will likely get you shot down and
even at night this is a good possibility; and taking the guard post out
before passing over it doesn’t work either-it will respawn before you
can get back to the glider. Visibility at night, however, is not good.
Board the hang glider and you must immediately bank left as you begin
your glide. Do so in several small increments to position yourself
between the two cliffs, allowing you to pass over the guard post. If
you’re not shot out of the sky, bank gently to the right and land on the
shelf of rock above the river. The shelf is walkable for quite a ways,
so there is no need to locate the diamond case to land-just land on the
shelf of rock above the river. The case is lying near a corpse. (3)

EAST SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-BOWA-SEKA  <BS17>

Cases: 14; Total diamonds in sector: 25

182: North of the airfield there is a guard post. This facility is best
approached by driving east out of Port Saleo or from the weapon shop and
stopping just short of it. It has a garrison of five with a sixth in an
SUV that will quickly join in the action. They must be taken out to get
to the diamond case in the rail car. The elevated area just east of the
guard post is an excellent sniping post and is a good position to
address a vehicle attack. (1)

183: Pilot your boat east out of Port Saleo toward the Polytechnic and
go ashore where the shoreline allows. This is just south of the
Polytechnic. The case is in the southwest building behind some cardboard
boxes. With care, darkness on your side and a silent weapon you can
sneak in from the south side and get the diamond without initiating a
major firefight. You may encounter a guard near the diamond case as well
as one near the buildings entrance. If you are seen, this facility has a
large garrison. (1)

184: East of the Polytechnic grounds, against the northern cliff face,
there is a small crude camp with two defenders. Take them out to get the
diamond case located under the lean-to canopy in the sunken area. (2)

185: Have the dart rifle for this action. On the south end of the
airfield there is a diamond case. Use the dirt path on the east side of
the airfield to get to the south side of the airport. Carefully locate
the sniper in the south tower by staying close to the rock face and
peering around it. Once he is down, if you do it with the dart rifle,
you can go south to retrieve the case behind a small rock. If seen the
airport has a large garrison with an RPG sniper in the hills east of it.
One of the hostiles may also man the grenade launcher on the south end
if he spots you. (1)

186: South of the airfield where the road follows the shoreline and
tracks briefly east and west, there is an oval island south of the
roadway. On its southeast side there is a diamond case lying near the
shore. There is no opposition on the island but an assault truck patrols
the nearby roadway. This area is best approached from the Port Saleo
lakeside boat dock or from the southeast bus station. (1)

187: From the diamond case location given above, (186) swim due west
toward the rocky shoreline on the western border of the sector map. A
diamond case is lying on the rocks there. There is no resistance or
patrol boats in the area. (2)

188: Near the south central border of the sector map, southwest of the
safe house east of the Rail Xing but on the opposite side of the long
narrow mountain, there is a wrecked car on the mountainside with a
diamond case. You can walk to it by going south along the roadway
paralleling the lakeshore and walking onto the high ground on the east
side of the roadway when the terrain allows. Go to the highest terrace,
through the grassy area to the diamond case. An assault truck routinely
patrols this roadway as does a patrol car. (1)

189: South of the safe house in the northeastern corner of the map there
is a dead end road where the bridge has been destroyed. Three guards
defend that safe house but going past it is the best approach to this
diamond case. The diamond case sits alongside the road near the broken
bridge. Before leaving the roadway and going for the diamond case,
locate and take out the RPG sniper watching on the hillside north of the
case. The diamonds appear to be his bait. This area has both boat and
vehicle patrols. The patrol boat is equipped with a grenade launcher.
(3)

Jackal tape number 15: Just south of the above location (diamond case
189) there is a small plane crash site near the riverbank. On the ground
near the plane is a Jackal tape.

190: Northeast of the east central guard post there is a diamond case
high on the cliffs. Believe it or not you can make it up the rocks to
the north of it. Near the detached boulder near the shore there is a
grassy slope that you can make a sprinting jump to. It can be a real
struggle but once on the grassy slope you can follow the steep winding
path back toward the river. The final jump is from one high rock to
another. A long jump into the water is the best way down. (3)

190 alternate: There is a guard post west of “Rail Xing”. (see the
procedure for diamond 194) The guard post near the bridge must be taken
out or you will be damaged and unable to maintain height during the long
flight up river. Take the glider and veer left to avoid the cliff ahead
and then veer right to fly above the river. The problem is the guard
post down river near the case. As often as not the glider will be hit,
causing you to fall short of the cliff where the diamond case lies. You
have a better chance at night, but then the visibility is poor-pick your
poison.

Golden AK-47: Southeast of the easternmost guard post on the east margin
of the sector map there is an AK-47 lying near an orange barrel and
other debris near the mountainside. Just follow the eastern mountainside
to find it. There is oftentimes a sniper on the east shore opposite the
guard post.

191: At the center of the sector map, where the river doubles back,
there is a guard post. To the northwest of it, the rock outcroppings
form an arch. In that cave-like opening there is a diamond case. When
approached on foot from the north there will be no opposition if you
keep your distance from the guard post. A sniper with an RPG overlooking
the bridge area at the guard post to the north makes a river passage to
this location difficult and additional patrol boats routinely patrol the
river between the guard posts. The river guard post to the south of the
diamond case has three guards on the north side of the river and one on
the south near a machine gun emplacement. You can also swim across the
river from the south shore to acquire the diamonds. (2)

192: The river splits around an oblong island in the north central area
of the east sector map. On the west bank of that island there is an
abandoned boat dock with a diamond case sitting there on a crate. This
area is free of opposition and there is a patrol boat there for the
taking (2)

193: Three guards man the safe house at the south center of the sector
map. This is east of the guard post at the Rail Crossing. Take the safe
house. Just east of it near the pile of rails there is a grassy incline.
Go past the large tree to access a narrow dead-end canyon. Follow the
locator signal to the end of the canyon to find the diamond case lying
on a stone. (2)

194: There is a diamond case on the cliffs just north of the railroad
bridge in the southeast part of the map. It isn’t high up but there is
no way other than using a hang glider to get to it. There is a guard
post on the west end of the bridge. Five hostiles man it and one
sometimes has a rocket launcher. Take the guard post; otherwise you will
be shot down when you begin your flight. The hang glider is north of the
guard post overlooking the river canyon. As you begin your glide veer
right. For once height and distance is not an issue. The case sits low
down on the mountain opposite the mid-point of the bridge. You can’t
easily see the diamond case so land the glider on any of the ledges on
the side of the mountain. With a little luck you can jump down to get
the measly one diamond. (DON’T JUMP DOWN YET. SEE THE PROCEDURE BELOW.)
(1)

195: While still on the ledge, as given above, proceed to wipe out the
guards on both sides of the river. There are two on the east bank and
three on the south. Jump down and walk, wade and swim down the east bank
until you are near the waterfall. The diamond case is on the west side,
so cross over and get ashore. Under a leaning snag south of the case,
there are some decent stepping-stones that allow you to get to struggle
up to the diamond case. It sets in a small depression with some pots-the
same ones you were kicking while traipsing down the east riverbank. (3)

SOUTHWEST SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-BOWA-SEKA:  <BS18>

Cases: 15; Total diamonds in sector: 28

Jackal Tape number 16: The tape is at the massacre site about mid-way
between the bus station and the southwest safe house. It is near the
drivers seat in the wrecked bus. This sand road is not patrolled until
near the safe house.

196: A little more than mid-way between the bus station and the west
safe house you will get a signal near the big Mertens-Segolo billboard.
There is a diamond case to its west, behind the large boulders, lying
next to a badly mangled corpse. (2)

197: On the northeast corner of the big horseshoe-like mountain
surrounding Weelegol village there is an abandoned overlook platform.
This will be south of the safe house west of the village. Forget about
the useless ladder. Go slightly north of the platform and jump onto the
steep rocks behind the first set of bushes to make your way to the
platform. You can also climb the steeply inclined ramp-like rock near
the bushes farther north. A sprinting jump can help you get your initial
purchase. If you use this second route continue up it until a straight
ledge blocks your way. You can vault up onto it and get above the
platform, but the jump down is very damaging, so look over the side.
There is a ledge there that will take you to the platform. Jump down to
it and follow it to get the diamonds. (3)

197 alternate: There is a hang glider south of Weelegol village near the
radio station shack. This is best done during the “Liberation Radio”
mission but can be done independent of the mission. This will require
you to get through the village and kill the RPG sniper on the platform
south of the village. You must then fly over the village, and then veer
left to follow the cliff face to the overlook platform. Totally
annihilating the village’s defenders is recommended before flying over
it.

198: North of Weelegol village there are three rock formations. On the
north side of the northwest of these rocks there is a case sitting in a
derelict car. Only vehicle patrols disturb the peace in this area unless
you pass near the guard post to its north where five defenders guard a
group of thatched huts. There is an assault truck you can claim there as
well. (1)

Diamond cases 199 and 200:
Weelegol Village has a large garrison and the procedures given in 199
and 200 can be difficult on the harder levels. The procedure below can
be used instead of those offered in 199 and 200.

Drive west and then north from the southwest bus station and continue
northeast past the entrance road to the village and cut between the
small outcropping and the north side of the small mountain on the
northwest side of the village’s entry road. A patrol truck makes its
rounds from the village, north and back again-avoid it or take it out if
you meet it. Park near the tree standing at the top of the slope and get
onto the rock ledge to the right overlooking the village.

If you have arrived without incident you may have to coax the village’s
defenders into your kill zone. There will be two trees ahead between you
and the village. Toss a Molotov at the one on the right and let the
flames consume the tree and the dry grass below. Use the AS50 sniper
rifle to begin killing the defenders as they respond to the fire. There
are well over a dozen hostiles and the patrol truck will join the action
if you didn’t take it out on your way in. Your position high above the
valley makes you nearly untouchable if you use the brow of the ledge to
block any incoming fire. Continue sniping and ducking out of their
sightline and toss any remaining Molotovs over the ledge if anyone gets
close.

When you have littered the area below with corpses, use your scope to
locate and kill the sniper wielding a rocket launcher on the platform
south of the village. Look through the burned out branches of the tree
you burned earlier. There will be a dugout canoe near the base of his
perch. This guy can be difficult to spot at night.

Jump down and advance east to the rock wall and then move southeast
along it to the village. There may be a lingering hostile or two so
beware as you move down the dirt path and under the structures. If you
couldn’t locate and kill the sniper south of the village earlier, look
south around the boulder near the long ramp going into the overhead
structures to acquire him and take him out. See the diamond locations
below to acquire 199 and 200.

199: Weelegol village has a large garrison but the facility is also
large meaning they are not concentrated; and the diamond case is not
located deep within the village. Approach Weelegol from the south to
minimize the chance of encountering the assault truck. This will be an
approach from south of the safe house through the rough. Advance to near
the road and allow the assault truck to exit the village. Go to the road
and find the side path on your right that leads across a broad wooden
walkway. Beyond it are some crates and the door leading to the diamond
case. Move toward the walkway and place a grenade in the walkways to the
left and right of the structure ahead. The grenade launcher excels at
this. Immediately sprint through the doorway, get the diamond, toss a
Molotov to the left and right of the door and sprint out to make your
getaway. (1)

200: To the west of Weelegol village there is a diamond case. You must
pass through the village to get it. Have the dart rifle for this venture
and conduct operations at night. Move into the area and come in from the
north, before circling east. When the area is clear of hostiles move in
under the structures and peer around the boulder so you see the sniper
with the rocket launcher before he sees you. Take him out with a silent
shot and go south, veering left to get behind the cliff and out of sight
of the village. When you are even with the sniper’s platform, look for
the canoes and go left up the grassy area. Follow your tracker to the
diamond case sitting under a wooden canopy. (2)

201: There is a large mountain southwest of the weapon shop. Near its
mid-point and on its west side there is a diamond case. The case is
under an SUV, so either drive it forward or if you’re felling rowdy hit </pre><pre id="faqspan-3">
it with a grenade. Using the grenade will draw an enemy foot patrol from
the north. (2)

202: In the extreme northwest corner of the southwest sector map there
is a guard post. North of it, near the mountain, there are three
smoldering piles of ash. Near them is a diamond case. The nearby guard
post has four guards and a patrol truck regularly visits this area but
you can avoid conflict by approaching the location from the north. (1)

203: A safe house occupies the mouth of a canyon in the northwest area,
north of the weapon shop. The three hostiles must be put down before you
can enter the tight canyon to the north. The diamond case sets in a
grotto, at ground level, on the east side of the canyon near a bloody
corpse. (3)

204: About mid-way between the weapon shop and the TaeMoCo mine, and
south the junction with the north central road, there is a diamond case
near an abandoned car. Patrol vehicles will provide any resistance in
this area and any driving in this area is sure to stir up the locals.
(1)

205: North of the TaeMoCo mine a large mountain dominates the north
margin of the map. Start near the two black dots in the north central
part of the sector, as is depicted on your game map, and walk east on
the dirt path going along the mountain. When your locator signal
activates, jump onto the rock ledge and follow it east. The case is
located below on a rock pedestal in a small grotto, which cannot be
reached by jumping from ground level. Look down to locate it and jump
down onto the rock pedestal to get to it. There are no enemies in this
area. (3)

206: To the east of the bus station there is a mountain with a beak-like
projection. On the south side of it there is a wooden canopy and behind
it is a pit. Among a bunch of bones sits a diamond case. There are only
wildebeest, antelope and zebra in this remote area. (2)

207: About mid-way between the bus station and the east central guard
post there is a very large baobab tree. This is also west of the
southeastern safe house. A diamond case sits under the tree. There are
no hostiles in this area if you stay away from the safe house. (2)

AK-47: On the extreme east border due east of the TaeMoCo mine, on the
east side of the road, there is a shack. This is shown as a black dot on
your map. Inside lying on some building supplies on the floor there is a
golden AK-47. Dislodge the boards from the north window, climb onto the
generator, duck and move through the window to get the weapon. Jump into
the window frame, duck and move forward to exit. Watch for the
patrolling assault truck in this area. Note that on rare occasions the
weapon doesn’t seem to be there for some unknown reason.

208: In the extreme northeast corner of the map there is an abandoned
camp. A smoky fire is burning but nobody alive is home. The case lies in
a shallow grave with its digger’s corpse. There are no hostiles in the
immediate area, but if it is approached from the east a sentry on a
platform at the guard post to the southwest wields a rocket launcher and
will spot you if you venture near his position. There are three
additional hostiles at that location and an assault trucks patrols the
roadway. (1)

209: The dart rifle paired with the MGL-140 or AS50 sniper rifle and the
Uzi make taking out the large garrison at the mine an easier task. There
is a conveyor belt that can be climbed on the north central side of the
mine to get to the diamond case, but the entire garrison must be
eliminated or drastically reduced first. Approach the mine from the
canyon to the northeast. This will place you on the east hillside. First
take out the sniper in the west tower and then any target available. If
you have the marksman’s bandolier, you can put down at least half of the
garrison without them knowing where you are. Do your sniping from the
high rock spire on east side and move to close quarters after putting
down most of the dozen defenders. Climb the conveyor belt and jump to
the rock to get the diamonds. (2)

210: A road from the south sector, in the northeast area, joins the main
north south road northeast of the mine. Walk southwest from the
intersection toward the two rock formations northeast of the mine. In
the wooded canyon between those mountains there is a shallow pit
containing a diamond case. Use a grenade to blow out the thatch to get
the diamonds. The grenade will likely bring guards from the mine to
investigate so be prepared. (2)

SOUTH SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-BOWA-SEKA:  <BS19>

Cases: 8; Total diamonds in sector: 15

211: Begin the quest for the pipeline diamond from near the safe house
in the northwest corner. Have a silent weapon, preferably the dart
rifle. Walk south from the safe house toward the dead end near “M-S-
Pipeline”. You will meet a patrol truck crew somewhere on that southern
road, either coming or going or on foot near the roads midpoint. The
destination is not the actual pipeline site, but is an observation post
overlooking the construction site from which you can cripple the
installations garrison. (SEE PROCEDURE FOR Diamond 212 BELOW BEFORE
CONTINUING.)

212: On the western border of the map, a north-south road runs from near
the northwest safe house and dead-ends near the pipeline areas overlook.
At the roads mid-point, on the west side of the road, there is a diamond
case against the mountainside near an abandoned car. An assault truck
regularly patrols this road. (2)

Jackal Tape number 17; The Jackal tape is sitting near a junk car east
of the above diamond location.

211: (continued) There are two sentries overlooking the pipeline
construction site. One is on an upper platform with a sniper rifle and
one is below manning a grenade launcher. Their attention is focused on
the valley below, so move in close. Take out the upper sentry with a
silent headshot, and then the lower one. Take the time to eliminate the
sniper on the tower on the far side of the site. Man the grenade
launcher and rain destruction down on the site.

Replenish your ammo at the shack and locate the hang glider to the west
of the observation post but don’t use it. There is a series of ledges
that will allow you to drop into the canyon near the overlook. Get the
right place-it is about mid-way between the glider and the observation
deck. As you start north through the canyon you will see a boat moored
alongside a wooden dock. Take the ill-defined path east into the site.
The building with the diamond case is just ahead. Some of the site’s
garrison will have survived so tread carefully. (1)

213: There is a safe house and a cellular antenna west of the pumping
station on Lake Segolo. Just east of that safe house there is an
abandoned camp on the lakeshore. A diamond case sits in that camp. You
will hear a constant flow of patrol trucks and patrol boats out on the
lake in this area. Get off the main road and approach the site along the
shoreline to minimize contact, which can quickly escalate as additional
patrols arrive. (2)

214: North of the guard post in the center of the map there is a black
square on the high detail map. This is a makeshift refueling station.
The diamond case is sitting on a crate surrounded by barrels. While that
immediate area is usually free of hostiles, the general area is swarming
with troops, trucks and patrol boats. Keeping a low profile in this area
is recommended. A good way to approach it is by swimming from the
western shore of the lake to the east of it, near where you retrieved
diamond case 213. (1)

215: Northeast of the pipeline pumping station on Lake Segolo or just
west of the Bowaseko Brewing Co. there is a small islet. On it are
numerous logs being used in the construction of a building. There is
also a lone sniper on the island armed with a Type 63 Mortar and an Uzi
machine pistol. This is the guy who has probably rained down destruction
on you during other missions into this area. Approaching the island from
near the south side of the brewery property will allow you to snipe the
mortar operator as he wanders the island and will allow you to monitor
the patrol boats routine before swimming out to the island. The diamond
case is lying among the logs. (2)

216: Have the dart rifle for this task. Sneak into the brewery grounds
by going west along the shore of the lake and finding a good sniper spot
to the east of the brewery. Begin taking down the garrison of eight or
more. Work your way to the north end, moving behind the building near
the shore and then continuing west, staying in the low area near the
lake. Once aligned with the steaming brewing vats, not far from the
shore, continue eliminating the hostiles. Grab the diamond when the
opposition wanes. The noise may attract a patrol boat so watch your back
during the battle. (1)

217: In the extreme northeast corner of the map there is a mountain that
extends into the southeast sector. On its southwestern tip, along the
shoreline, there is a fractured white drainage tile stuck in a recess.
Wade to it, crouch, and go through it and into the chamber beyond to get
the diamond case. If you just raided the brewery for its diamond you can
steal the boat at its dock. Be aware that a patrol boat monitors this
area near the diamond case. (3)

218: There is an elevated guard post northwest of the prison in the
southeast part of the map. This post is indicated by a black mark on
your map. Three or four hostiles man this post but any altercation will
quickly draw a patrol vehicle from the north. If you gain the hillside
to the south of it and use the dart rifle you can eliminate the hostiles
before they even realize that you are there. There is also a patrol
truck at the facility, which they will man if given the chance. Once the
garrison is down, use the ladder to climb to the top of the lookout
platform and get the diamonds. (3)

SOUTHEAST SECTOR DIAMOND LOCATIONS-BOWA-SEKA  <BS20>

Cases:  3; Total diamonds in sector:  7

219: South of the bus stop there is a thatched hut. This location can be
seen as a black dot on your game map. Walk south from the bus station up
the steep grade through the jungle to the hut. Watch for a lone
patrolling hostile in this area. He will normally be somewhere on the
dirt path leading to that hut. The diamond case is in the hut. (2)

220: Midway between the bus station and the marina, as seen on your game
map, the river makes an elbow, and there is a waterfall there. The
diamond case is near that waterfall. This area is uncontested. The
diamonds can most easily be located by parking your vehicle near the
bridge and then swimming southeast toward the waterfall. You can also
take the patrol boat from the dock at Mike’s Bar and pilot is northeast
to get to the diamonds. (3)

221: On the northwest side of the map the road runs west, south of a
small mountain near Lake Segolo. Drive west from the Marina entry road
and take the left fork of the road until you see the blue assault truck.
You will likely encounter a patrol car in this area. Walk north on the
dirt path toward the lake, going past the cemetery and the thatched hut.
Follow the path until its splits and you will find a sunken thatched hut
near the shoreline. In it is a diamond case. The only opposition will
likely be the pesky patrol car that pesters you when you drive the
roadways near the Marina’s entry road. (2)

Golden AK-47: After the Heart of Darkness bivouac there is a safe house.
If you travel along the south side of the swamp you will pass a hut and
then the waterfall. Further east you will see a dead tree arching over
the water. Climb up the tree to find the AK-47 laying on a rock. Three
hostiles wander the swamp to the north of this area.

JACKAL TAPE LOCATIONS:  <JT21>

Leboa-Seka Pala sector:
Jackal tape number 1:  You will receive your first Jackal tape from Reuben
at Mike’s Bar during the tutorial portion of the game. This is in the Pala
sector.

Leboa-Seka northwest sector:
Jackal tape number 2: On the northeast side of the shoe-like mountain
near the south center of the map, there is a sniper platform. A lone
sniper mans it, but a sentry from the valley camp to its north will
occasionally be in the area as well. Take out the sniper and the sentry,
if present. The Jackal tape is on the sniper’s platform. A car that will
respond to any activity in this area also patrols the road to the east.

Leboa-Seka north sector:
Jackal tape no 3: There is a guard post in the north central area of the
map. The Jackal tape lies on a bench near the shack to the north of the
guard post. A stealthy approach can allow you to get the tape without a
fight. Six guards man the guard post and a car routinely patrols the
north road.

Leboa-Seka northeast sector:
Jackal tape number 4: This tape is in the northeast sector. Northeast of
the northwest guard post, on the north side of the tracks, near a metal
shack, there is a Jackal tape.

Leboa-Seka west sector:
Jackal tape number 5: There is a dead-end road near the north center of
the map. At its east end, near the mountain, there is a Jackal tape
lying near a corpse.

Leboa-Seka east sector:
Jackal tape number 6: In the southwest corner of the east sector map,
west of the bridge and the guard post, there is an overturned bus with a
diamond case and a Jackal tape inside it’s hulk.

Leboa-Seka southwest sector:
Jackal tape no 7: Go northeast from the small lake northeast of the
weapon shop. The Jackal tape is on a crashed plane near the highlands
overlooking the depressed area to the north. The steep terrain makes an
eastern approach impossible.

Leboa-Seka south sector:
Jackal tape number 8: There is a mountain on the southeast margin of
map. The black dot there is the site of a crashed plane. The Jackal tape
lies under a nearby canopy.

Leboa-Seka southwest sector:
Jackal tape number 9: North of the bus station there is a black dot in
the desert. It is an improvised guard post with three guards. A diamond
case sets on the roof of a derelict bus and next to the bus there is a
Jackal tape.

Bowa-Seka northwest sector:
Jackal tape number 10: Southeast of the safe house in the southwest
corner of the northwest sector map, there is a Jackal tape near a
derelict bus. This is south of the water.

Bowa-Seka north sector:
Jackal tape number 11: This tape is in the upper area northwest of the
Dogon village. Go north past the glider and down the rock stairwell.
Continue north through the ruins to find the tape sitting on a makeshift
bench. This area can be found by locating the water area on the high-
resolution map of the village.

Bowa-Seka northeast sector:
Jackal tape number 12: A small lake lies west of the safe house in the
southwest corner of the map. On the west side of that lake there is a
diamond case sitting on a crate near a dead tree. To its northwest there
is a Jackal tape near an abandoned delivery truck.

Bowa-Seka west sector:
Jackal tape number 13: On the southwest side of the map, there is a
cellular antenna. Southwest of it, well west of the road, there is a
canopy next to a water well. Under the canopy there is a diamond case
and next to it is a Jackal tape.

Bowa-Seka Port Saleo sector:
Jackal tape number 14: Commandeer the boat at the dock near the Port
Saleo bus station and pilot it to the narrow canyon whose entrance is on
the north side of Sehlakalase Island. Moor at the boat dock on the west
side of the waterway and climb the dirt to find a thatched hut. Enter
the hut and drop down below it to get the Jackal tape.

Bowa-Seka east sector:
Jackal tape number 15: South of the safe house in the northeastern
corner of the map there is a dead end road where the bridge has been
destroyed. A diamond case sits alongside the road near the bridge.
Before going to get it, take out the RPG sniper on the hillside north of
it. Just south of it is a plane wreck on the riverbank. The Jackal tape
is on the ground near it.

Bowa-Seka southwest sector:
Jackal Tape number 16: The tape is at the massacre site about mid-way
between the southwest sector’s bus station and the southwest safe house.
It is inside the wrecked bus. The sand road is not patrolled until near
the safe house.

Bowa-Seka south sector:
Jackal tape number 17: On the western border of the south sector map a
north-south road runs from near the northwest safe house area to the
pipeline area. At the roads mid-point, on the west side of the road,
there is a Jackal tape near an abandoned car and a diamond case.

GOLDEN AK-47s:  <AK22>

Leboa-Seka northwest sector:
Golden AK-47: The AK-47 is in a boarded-up cave on the southwest tip of
the mountain west of the cattle ranch. This area is thick with hostiles,
so tread warily.

Leboa-Seka east sector:
Golden AK-47: Due east of the weapon shop, on the opposite side of the
mountain there is a shack where the road fades into the scrub. On the
table are a diamond case and a golden AK-47.

Leboa-Seka southwest sector:
Golden AK-47: The AK-47 is in a cave on the northeast side of the shoe-
shaped mountain to the northeast of the southwest weapon shop. Knock the
boards out of the entrance of the cave to get the weapon.

Leboa-Seka southeast sector:
Golden AK-47: There is a lake south of the central guard post. On the
east side of the lake, obscured by bushes, there is a small nook. The
AK-47 is on the rocks there. This can be obtained without contact if you
go west along the mountain and then south. The road alongside this path
is routinely patrolled.

Bowa-Seka north sector:
Golden AK-47: In the south central area, south of the undefended bridge,
there is black dot at the end of a dead-end road. This is an improvised
guard post manned by four hostiles. Take them out and go to the overlook
near the hang glider. If you look over the side you can see the AK-47
lying on the rocks below. Slide down the slope to get the weapon.

Bowa-Seka east sector:
Golden AK-47: Southeast of the guard post in the east central area there
is an AK-47 lying near an orange barrel and other debris near the
mountain. This is north of the protruding mountain north of “Rail Xing.”

Bowa-Seka southwest sector:
AK-47: On the extreme east border east of the TaeMoCo mine and on the
east side of the road there is a shack. Inside is a golden AK-47.
Dislodge the boards from both windows, climb onto the straw and move
through the window to get the weapon. Jump into the window’s frame,
duck, and move forward to exit. Watch for the patrolling assault truck
in this area.

Bowa-Seka southeast sector:
Golden AK-47: After the Heart of Darkness bivouac there is a safe house.
If you travel along the south side of the swamp you will pass a hut and
then a waterfall. Further east you will see a dead tree arching over the
water. Climb up the tree to find the AK-47 laying on a rock.
