1) Introduction:

For those of you who don't know, Escape Velocity Nova is the 3rd incarnation of
Ambrosia Software's brilliant Escape Velocity. Escape Velocity is set in the
future where Space ships dominant the Galaxy.

You start as a lonely Pilot of a weak shuttle. After increasing your skills (and
after buying a decent spacecraft) you will have to decide which government to
fight for.



2) Who Are the Vell-Os?

The Vell-os once lived on the western edge of Federation Space and lived
peacefully for many years. The Vell-Os use psychic powers to create their
powerful Spaceships and weapons. Many years ago The Vell-Os fought a long war
which they eventually lost and were enslaved by the Bureau of Internal
Investigation.



3) Mission Guide

Mission 1:
This mission begins, interestingly enough, when you accept a mission from the
Mission BBS to transport 7t of goods to Earth. Be careful, once you get into
this mission, you can't change your ship except to get the Vell-Os ones later.
(on my first time i got into it accidently and was stuck in a heavy shuttle for
the first missions. When you complete the mission it says something about a
Vell-Os.

Mission 2:
This mission starts in Earth's bar where a Vell-Os asks you to visit his
homeworld to the West. After you've done this, the next mission is availiable on
New England and Commander Krane will capture you and send you to infiltrate the
Rebellion.

Mission 3:
You need to head to the Rebel Space station; Rebel II located in the Koria
System. The Rebels will then send you to Merrol in the Aldebaran system and make
you do food drop missions. These missions are simple, But you can't get scanned
by the Federation. Keep doing the food drop missions available from the Mission
BBS on Merrol but every time you return, check in the bar and you may recieve
the Equipment drop missions. Follow the same procedure with the equipment drops
(including checking the Bar) until the Rebels ask you to rescue one of their
agents.

Mission 4:
When you do your first mission to pick up a rebel agent you will see a Ship
named the Prodigal Son which is commander Krane's Symbol to return to Earth
after your mission. So complete the mission and go see Commander Krane. She will
tell you to take all further rebel agents to New England in the Wolf 359 system.
So take all the Rebel agents to New England but, once again, each time you're on
Merrol, check the bar. Eventually you'll have to insert a Rebel Agent into the
Federation.

Mission 5:
When you take the agent you're suppose to insert to New England, Commander Krane
will reassign you to work against the Auroran Empire in the South. Commander
Krane will send you to Moash in the Moash system, To the middle West of Auroran
territory. After you return, you'll have to lead a task force to a system near
Moash as a diversion while the main federation force takes Moash itself. You
will be taught to create the Dart Spacecraft and the Flower of Spring telepathic
Weapon. You will then, once again, Have to go to Moash. After this, The next 2
missions can be gotten near the Kania system and also require you to go to Moash.
On one of these you will learn the Summer Bloom telepathic weapon.

Mission 6:
You get this mission on a federation planet when you are taught to create the
Vell-Os Arrow Spacecraft. You are then sent to Earth to meet Commander Krane.
She sends you into Polaris space where you have to find Mu'hari which is located
on the far North-east of Polaris Space. When you find it, Return to Earth.

Mission 7:
This mission begins in the Bar of any Federation planet, And you need to find a
Mu'Hari spy. After this mission more missions like it appear in the mission BBS.
Do these while checking the bar and eventually you'll be taught how to create
the Javelin Vell-Os warship and the Autumn Petal telepathic weapon. (The Javelin
is the Best Vell-Os ship in the game). Eventually you'll find a mission to find
a spy on New England. You need to do this mission to continue in the story.

Mission 8:
After you do the Mu'hari mission on New England, Commander Krane needs you to
meet her in the bar. She then sends you to Cunjo to meet an Auroran fleet. This
mission is odd because you have to fly to, and land on, Kel'ar Iy while making
sure your Auroran Support is destroyed. When you land on Kel'ar Iy, you get the
Winter Tempest telepathic attack. (The Best Telepathic attack in the game). You
are also freed from Bureau Control.

Mission 9:
You must fly back to Earth where you then must go to Vell-Os while being chased
by Federation Battleships. After that you decide to destroy the Bureau and you
must go to the bar in Goliath in the South Manchester system to warn other Vell-
Os. After this, all you have to do is fly to New England, Destroy the Bureau and
then take a Vell-Os to Korell, near Vell-os.

You have completed one of the 6 main Escape Velocity Missions.
