- All the missions that exist in this full guide, exist in the individual
guides that I created
- Some "Invisible" Missions were removed due to the fact that they occur
automatically regardless of your choice and are minor in nature
(Perhaps a message on the screen or a conversation with someone)
- This guide is meant to be quick and easy. It's not here to give advice
on how to complete each mission... just to tell you where to go to start it
and where your finish point is. I believe the most fun you can have is figuring
out each Mission: for yourself and I won't ruin that...
- There are some different branches on what missions you can do, these are based
on a great many things:
= The choices you make in conversations
= What faction you sign up with
= Completed certain missions before others (Cancelling or making obsolete
previous missions)
= Reputation with the race, for e.g. if you attack a certain race... they won't
like you...
And will most likely not to be so forthcoming on offering missions
One quick example. Depending on what ship you choose at the beginning of the
game, determines
your first couple of missions.
- There are very few spoilers throughout this guide.... I don't like Spoilers
- This guide is designed to do missions in an exciting and efficient order. Not
to do one faction
at a time. This is done on purpose to avoid missions being cancelled for jumping
ahead and to
get the most out of the game. Feel free to jump ahead where ever you please.
Also, You can't do all of one factions missions straight through, you need to
have progress elsewhere
before certain missions will be offered to you.
- Assume for each mission, that a certain number of crew spaces are needed and
cargo space.
The game will tell you (Most of the time) if you are not meeting conditions to
allow you to sell cargo..
or.. create space. But, still. Have some free space before starting a mission.
Attributes: The Mission: requires that when you land on a planet, for e.g.
attribute: Outfitter
That the planet has an outfitter
Destination: Where you have to go
Name: The actual name of the Mission: as it appears in the game
Description: A brief description of each mission
Waypoint: You will either visit this system, or planet, whilst on mission
Distance: Refers to the number of system jumps away. for example:
Distance 2 5 Means the location the game has set up is between 2 and 5 jumps
from the source (OR destination)
Event: Refers to some coding that the game has done to tell it that something
has occurred. for example:
Event: "Smuglers Den Payment" refers to the fact that the Smuglers Den just
paid you... I know. Complicated right?
Combat Rating: Each crew member of a ship you disabled gets added to the combat
rating number, which is only visible in the save file.
The number you can see when in the information screen is the natural logharithm
of this number:
for e.g. you reach level 7 after 1097 "kills", level 8 at 2981 "kills".
- Remember, very important. Your game auto saves AT CRITICAL POINTS in the game.
IF you fail
a minor Mission: or job... tough luck. Load your last game. If you fail a major
mission, you will
find your "Auto-save" file saved at the beginning of that Mission: regardless of
how much progress
you have made.
- Certain races tech are better than others. Explore, visit outfitters, visit
all your planets/systems
Raid ships etc
- Choose your preferred settings in the prefences menu.
- Get used to your hotkeys, go into your settings if you want to change them.
- My advice, don't get too hung up on missions where their condition is set as
"Random" with a high
number. They only offer small rewards anyways. By all means, try to get them...
but you have been warned
Doing the "Pookie Job", I played this for over 300 hours and only got offered it
once (Might have helped
if I knew what planet it was offered on)
- When you're in the map, press "F" and type the name of the system or planet
you want to find.
