I. CONTROLS [CNTR]
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This is a point-and-click game, so controls are fairly simple.
Left-clicking items and people initates contact with the target, picking the
item up or starting conversation. (If Rufus is too far away, nothing occurs.)
In the inventory menu, and the occasional field icon, items can be combined
by selecting one (the cursor changes to that item to denote it's being used)
and using it on another. If the pair works, a new item is created.
Right-clicking items is the observation button, giving wry banter about the
object or person. In some cases, valuable clues and puzzle hints are given,
so this is always useful. Unlike left-clicking, right-clicking faraway things
still works.
Other useful things to know:
• Double-clicking entrances to buildings/paths enters them automatically,
without waiting for Rufus to slow-walk there.
• Using mouse 3 (i.e. depressing a mouse's clickable scroll wheel) highlights
all objects of note, which helps players find what the hell they're supposed
to be doing! As someone who played without knowing this...it's better to
know it from the get-go.
• On PC, pressing ESC skips current conversations and scenes. This is useful
if players are replaying segments or testing certain things, like doing the
Droggeljug achievement.
• I recommend playing with the mouse-wheel inventory option enabled. This way
players can scroll down to access it, then scroll up to close it -- simple.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
1) KUVAQ [WK01]
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Note for those playing the "Deponia: The Complete Journey" version: there's
a special achievement for Deponia 1 called "Junkyard King". Players must find
little pieces of junk across the game, 11 in all, to assemble a sculpture (in
bonus menu). This achievement does NOT occur in the very first version of
Deponia -- i.e. the game was purchased separately and/or isn't on Steam -- so
see the FAQ's Achievements for images of where they all are.
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: KINDERGARTEN
Complete the tutorial. As with some achievements in this game, skipping
the event/minigame may NOT trigger it, so first-timers should avoid those
shortcuts.
Our protagonist begins in the junk world of Deponia -- specifically, the city
of Kuvaq. At first, only his ex's house is available for exploration.
• Open suitcase
• Obtain List (automatic)
• Inspect bed cushion, then take Green Sock
• Take Hand Torch
• Take Oil Can
• Go downstairs
• Take post-it from bathroom door (obtain "One Note")
• Open bathroom door and take Plunger
• Take Detergent from locker
• Take Bolt Cutter from locker
• Try inspecting toothbrush (it hides in dark corner by ramp)
• Try entering Toni's room twice
• Take post-it on guillotine (obtain "Two Notes")
• Take Fork from sink
• Take Pot from sink
• Take note from sink (obtain "Three Notes")
• Open fridge and take the Yellow Sock
• Take note from fridge door (obtain "Four Notes")
• Take note from chair (obtain "A Bunch of Notes")
• Inspect coat by door to get the Blue Sock
Before Rufus can leave the house, he needs the following: a bolt cutter, some
provisions, a toothbrush, and a pair of socks. Except for the former, all
need a little extra work to get. They can be done in any order.
• Dump the can of oil into the sink (obtain Empty Can)
• Use Empty Can on crumb-filled sofa (obtain Provisions)
• Use Pot on sink (obtain Pot of Water)
• Use filled pot on hotplate by sofa
• Use detergent on pot
• Shove "A Bunch of Notes" into opened stove door
• Use Hand Torch on notes
• Put all three socks into soapy water
• Use fork on pot (obtain Pair o' Socks)
• Use plunger on closet by sink
• Reach into mouse hole (obtain Mouse Trap)
• Combine Mouse Trap and Provisions (obtain Trap with Bait)
• Use Trap with Bait on dark corner where toothbrush is hiding
• Obtain Toothbrush (automatic)
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: BRUSHHUNTER
Capture the rogue toothbrush.
• Use Toothbrush on suitcase
• Use Bolt Cutter on suitcase
• Use Provisions on suitcase
• Use Pair o' Socks on suitcase
• When prompted, remove the bolt cutter
Rufus automatically goes out onto the harpoon launch pad.
• Take Wrench leaning by ramp
• Enter Toni's house, then leave through lower door
• Use Wrench on Mailbox
• Return to launch area and open pod door
• Use Wrench on Seat
• Use Mailbox where the seat was
• Inspect storage space (bottom of pod)
• Inspect battery
• Put suitcase in storage space
• Use Battery on Mailbox
Now the harpoon can be fiddled with -- use the nearby control panel.
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: BULLSEYE [
http://i.imgur.com/jPnFCoi.gif]
Complete the calibration minigame by placing the rusty reticle onto the
blinking train track square. The problem is two of the directions don't
work and the reticle moves like a chess knight. One solution to the
problem is: left-down, up-right, left-down, up-right, down-right,
up-right, left-down, left-down, up-right. The image above shows it in
action. (Use the reset button if need be.)
To finish, use the hand torch on the harpoon fuse.
2) ORGANON CRUISER [WK02]
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This is the smallest area in the game and one-time-only. All previous items
are removed.
• Inspect the chain twice
• Enter the chute
• Inspect suitcase
• Take Provisions
• Take Pair o' Socks
• Use Provisions on cogwheels
• When maintenance arm comes out, use Pair o' Socks on the protruding hatch
• Inspect the sock-lined hatch
• Take maintenance arm
• Use maintenance arm on leftmost grate
Goal is introduced here.
• Enter the leftmost hatch
• Operate left or middle levers
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
03) KUVAQ [II] [WK03]
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Rufus will return back to town, empty-handed...literally. The town can be
explored a bit more than usual at this point. A brief overview of areas:
|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|
| Town Gates | Has an old truck and a mechanical bull ride |
|----------------+----------------------------------------------------------|
| Town Center | All main areas connect to here; the town water tower can |
| | be found in the left portion; an emergency phone is on a |
| | lower road |
|----------------+----------------------------------------------------------|
| Back Alley | Leads to Hannek, the miner, and the local tavern. The |
| | emergency station is nearby as well, but starts closed. |
|----------------+----------------------------------------------------------|
| Town Hall | Leads to the waiting room, assembly hall, mayor's office |
| | and post office. The Listening Post for later is within |
| | the latter. |
|----------------+----------------------------------------------------------|
| Wenzel's House | Lower-left of town square, right below the water tower; |
| | Wenzel naturally lives here. |
|----------------+----------------------------------------------------------|
| Toni's House | The tunnel to the first area is next to Wenzel's house. |
|----------------+----------------------------------------------------------|
| Toni's Store | Toni can be found here, along with many items...though |
| | she won't give any to Rufus... |
|________________|__________________________________________________________|
Areas currently off-limits: emergency station, mayor's office, post office,
listening post. Because this section is rather long, it's best to break the
guide down into smaller objectives. (Players can still visit wherever they
want and pick up stray items, though. It's best to be a little familiar with
the areas, since the guide refers to 'em soon.)
[3.1] WAKING UP GOAL
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
• Enter town square, learning a commotion's afoot
• Enter town hall for an automatic scene
• Take the Magnets from the entryway noticeboard
• Use dispenser's lever
• Take the Waiting Number (#66)
• Enter assembly hall
Players learn a strong coffee could wake Goal up.
• Operate red button in background
• Inspect closet's cardboard box to get the Balloons
• Exit town hall and enter alley
• Enter Lonzo's bar
• Take Dart from dartboard
• Take cow Sign from bar wall
• Ask Lonzo about "did you hear about the stranger? The girl?"
• Pick "Is there something on your menu that can give someone a real boost?"
• Obtain Recipe
• Take Red Curtain
The recipe for making coffee is learned. Right-clicking on the item in the
inventory lets it be inspected in detail. Various NPCs (Hannek, Wenzel, etc.)
may give sly hints about the course of action to take.
[3.1.1] WAKE UP GOAL, PT. 1: STIMULANT
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Leaving the bar with the recipe opens the hall's emergency station.
• Take Dentist's Drill from medical area
• Take Dissector's Scalpel from medical area
• Use Balloons on Laughing Gas (obtain "Balloon filled with Laughing Gas")
• Use countertop switch to change area to police mode
• Inspect police box (feet fetters thrown on floor)
• Switch room to firefighter mode
• Take Asbestos Gloves by pole
• Take fire extinguisher from counter-area box
• Put feet fetters in firefighter's cabinet
• Switch room to police mode
• Obtain Handcuffs when they fall on the floor
• Switch room to firefighter mode again (notice how floor panel slides?)
• Use Handcuffs on hatch near roof support/tree
• Switch to police mode
• Visit village gates and use fireman's pole to reenter Gizmo's jail cell
• Take Lockpick
• Reenter emergency station normally
• Switch room to medical mode
• Use Lockpick on doctor's cabinet
• Take Syringe
• Take Stimulant (automatic)
[3.1.2] WAKE UP GOAL, PT. 2: BLACK POWDER
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
• Visit Toni's shop (automatic scene with her)
• Inspect vouchers on countertop
• While Toni meditates, inspect the jar of hooks
• Obtain Hook (automatic)
• Obtain Key to the First Aid Kit (automatic)
• Enter tunnel to Toni's house
• Use Asbestos Gloves on Chili Pepper (obtain Chili Pepper)
• Enter Toni's house
• Use key to open first aid kit by her guillotine door
• Take Tranquilizer
• Enter harpoon launch pad area
• Take Hand Torch
• Take Funnel
• Take Dud
• Use Dissector's Scalpel on Dud (obtain Black Powder)
Return to Toni's Shop and combine the Black Powder, Stimulant, and Chili
Pepper in the grinder near the door. Grind 'em using the crank, then open
the hatch to obtain Coffee Powder. Now all that's left is finding the water-
-related items.
[3.1.3] WAKE UP GOAL, PT. 3: CLEAR WATER (PRELIM PART)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
• Enter Wenzel's house (automatic scene)
• Inspect Divining Rod on coffee table
• Take Sponge from bathroom
Wenzel only agrees to give the rod after he's discovered water. Those who've
explored outside may have noticed that his house is directly under the water
tower -- in particular, a movable water nozzle. However, his chimney's capped
with a grate. Hmm...
• Combine Hook with the laughing gas Balloon (obtain Balloon with Hook)
• Use Balloon with Hook on bathroom furnace (opens chimney cap)
• Enter basement
• Use Dentist's Drill on Pipe
• Exit building and go onto water tower
• Inspect the pipe to spin it
• Inspect reservoir tap cord (causes overflow in Wenzel's house)
• Reenter Wenzel's abode and enter basement
• Take Divining Rod after scene
[3.1.4] WAKE UP GOAL, PT. 3: CLEAR WATER (END PART)
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Once the Divining Rod's received, players can do the mayor portion. However,
his town hall office is closed and there are people ahead of Rufus waiting to
see him. Solution: clear out the rabble. (The hint is that the town roofer
now makes hats. Each man wears a hat which corresponds to a house.)
• Take Magnets from town hall bulletin board (if not done already)
• Enter alley near Lonzo's bar
• Use Magnets on Detonation Plan chart
• Mark the trio's houses as detonation sites (
http://i.imgur.com/c7qllCq.png)
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: DEMOLITION EXPERT
Correctly detonate the trio's houses on the first try.
The three men at the town hall will now vamoose.
• Enter town hall
• Take the Waiting Number (#63) on entryway floor
• Speak to Wenzel (automatic)
• Enter mayor's office
• Speak to, and converse with, Mayor Lotek (mandatory)
• Ring desk bell
• Inspect bed cushion
• Take Planet's Magnetic Field device
• Use Divining Rod on desk's water symbol
• Take Key to the Cupboard from desk bed
• Inspect globe
• Take glass
• Use Key to the Cupboard on globe keyhole
• Inspect booze cabinet (obtain Booze)
[3.1.6] WAKE UP GOAL, PT. 4: REVITALIZING FLUID
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Players may have heard Wenzel's story about bull's blood having revitalizing
qualities.
• Go to town gate
• Use Sign from Lonzo's bar on the bulletin board or bull
• Use the Red Curtain on the bulletin board
• Use Syringe on angered bull
• Obtain Syringe with Taurine
[3.1.5] WAKE UP GOAL, PT. 5: ENERGY-RICH WATER
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Players may have already talked to Hannek in the alley, learning that miners
drink "battery soda". Wenzel gives a similar clue.
• Take Sponge from Wenzel's bathroom (if not done already)
• Enter Toni's House
• Use Sponge on bubbling hot plate pot (obtain Wet Sponge)
• Revisit town gates
• Use Wet Sponge on dirty windshield
• Inspect windshield (see pink leatherette, puppet, "Sugarpuff" nameplate)
• Find Hannek in the alley
• Ask "What exactly are you guys doing down there?"
• Ask "Maybe you have my key, too?"
• Pick "Sugarpuff"
• Pick "Pink"
• Pick "Ballet"
• Obtain Key of Truck
• Return to Sugarpuff's vehicle at the gate
• Use new key on side door
• Use interior lever to pop hood
• Inspect hood further
• Use Dentist's Drill on battery
• Use Glass on acid stream (obtain Glass of Energy-Rich Water)
[3.1.6] WAKE UP GOAL, PT. 6: BREWING
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
• Obtain Coffee Powder, if not done already (see section 3.1.2 for info)
• Combine Booze and Glass of Energy-Rich Water
• Obtain "Energy-Rich, Clear Water"
• Combine Energy-Rich, Clear Water and Syringe with Taurine
• Obtain "Energy-Rich, Revitalizing and Clear Water"
• Revisit Lonzo's bar
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: STAND-IN WAITER
Brew the wake-up espresso. Use the Coffee Powder on the closed tray and
the "Energy-Rich, Revitalizing and Clear Water" on the machine.
• Obtain Espresso (automatic)
• Revisit the assembly hall
[3.1.7] WAKE UP GOAL, PT. 7: FINAL STEPS
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Gizmo, Lotek and Wenzel will all be near the Elysian.
• Try using Espresso on Goal
• Use Hand Torch on cardboard box that used to contain balloons
• When Gizmo leaves, take his Stethescope on the podium
• Use Stethoscope on Mayor Lotek
• Use Funnel on Goal
• Use Espresso on Goal
[3.2] CONTACT CLETUS
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Rufus automatically speaks to Goal in the emergency station, learning she
wants him to contact Cletus, her fiancé. This requires a long-distance radio,
however...
• Revisit assembly hall
• Take Funnel by mayor's bed
• Steal Microphone on podium
• Steal Lotek's clock from where he sleeps
• Return to town hall entryway
• Use Mayor's Clock on the Opening Hours sign
• Speak to Lotti (automatic)
In the post office, players can talk to the Postbot to learn various things,
particularly about the local radios (mayor's office, vault, listening post,
street by Wenzel's house) -- all off-limits. The robot also mentions liking
to pop bubble wrap from mismatched boxes of postage level three.
An item from Toni's store is needed to see how the mail system works, though.
• Combine Dart and Tranquilizer (obtain Prepared Dart)
• Combine Funnel and Prepared Dart (obtain Blow Pipe)
• Visit front of Toni's store
• Use Blow Pipe on open window, tranquilizing Toni
• Enter store
• Steal the Vouchers
Give a voucher to the mailbot to see how things work: the white cat inside
the hatch licks postage, the orange cat runs the conveyor, and a pigeon lifts
the package out into the sky.
Continuing requires the opposite of the achievement above, but first players
must deal with the pigeon delivery system.
• Enter listening post (entrance is in post office, near main door)
• Open cabinet cupboard
• Put Planet's Magnetic Field device inside
• Inspect device
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: THAT SEEMS ABOUT RIGHT... [
http://i.imgur.com/a0I68mo.mp4]
Complete the pigeon sabotage minigame without skipping it. The goal's to
screw up the birds' magnetic guidance systems, done by swapping the big
bird's sensors with the smallest. As the video above shows, only four
of the wheels can be rotated: the entire middle row (A, B, C) and the
middle on the third row (D). Do the following circles with the listed
number of 90-degree rotations: C-1, B-2, A-1, B-2, C-1, B-2, D-1
If done right, the fattest pigeon will be squeezing into the smallest bird's
hole. Return to Postbot downstairs.
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: MISSING POSTAGE
Use Espresso on the orange cat and Tranquilizer on the white cat before
handing over a voucher. There'll be no postage whatsoever on the package,
forcing Postbot to incinerate it. This must be done before screwing up
Postbot permanently.
• Give white cat Espresso (twice, if above achievement was done)
• Give orange cat Tranquilizer (twice, if above achievement was done)
• Give Postbot a voucher
This time, the postage will be messed up and the pigeon can't carry the lead
weight -- it crashes near the background boxes, spilling bubble wrap.
• Walk back and forth on bubble wrap (×3) until postbot freaks out
• Reenter post office after leaving
• Open replacement cat's hatch
• Steal the Two Replacement Cats
• Take note on door in Postbot's booth
The puzzle [
http://i.imgur.com/QcY97eN.png] is solved by superimposing the
note on the PO boxes nearby. The numbers and arrows reveal the sequence digit
for the door code. Thus, the answer is: 3649.
• Input correct door code into vault
• Enter vault (requires Microphone and Headphones to use)
• Take Nodding Bird toy in window
The only person with headphones in town is the listening post operator, and
he's too relaxed to give 'em up. Rufus needs to change that.
• Enter mayor's office
• Use nodding bird on communicator
• Use Replacement Cat on Teletypewriter
• Enter emergency station
• Fill another balloon with laughing gas
• Exit into hallway
• Use laughing gas balloon on parrot by Hannek
• Obtain Stunned Parrot (automatic)
• Use Espresso on Stunned Parrot (obtain Parrot)
• Move into Toni's Store
• Use Parrot on perch by countertop
• Reenter store and take the banter-filled Parrot
• Use Parrot on emergency phone by Wenzel's house
With all three lines blaring with nonsense, return to the frazzled listening
post operator and take his headphones. With this, and the microphone from the
assembly hall installed, the vault radio can be used.
[3.3] FINAL ACTIONS
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
• Revisit emergency station
• Inspect the bedsheet on Goal's bed (automatic scene)
• Use remaining Cat on tree
• Enter Wenzel's house (automatic scene)
• Enter Wenzel's basement
• Inspect cupboard
• Use Divining Rod on door
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: HUSSA - WHO'S GONNA CARE?
Escape Kuvaq.
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
4) GARBAGE MINE [WK04]
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
All previous inventory items are gone. Four locations make up this area:
1) The crane area, where Goal is
2) The track-switching junk area (control room is above it)
3) Doc's tunnel area
4) The tunnel itself
Rufus begins near the crane.
• Cross the nearest bridge...unsuccessfully
• Enter track-switching area
• Inspect mine bike's headlight (obtain Halogen Lamp)
• Sit in bike's seat
• Enter Doc's tunnel
• Inspect skeleton (obtain Leg of Skeleton)
• Inspect Signaling Light Base
• Take the red Signaling Light
• Ask Doc "Who are you?"
• Tell Doc "I'm a handyman myself."
• Tell Doc "Just as a thought: in case a fellow handyman faced a problem..."
• Tell Doc "When the mine bike doesn't start, for example..."
• Obtain Avial Power Converter (automatic)
• Return to mine bike
• Try installing the power converter on the bike
• Search nearby junk pile when it slips out
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: DIY'ER
Put the three converters back together properly. The trick to winning is
listening to Doc's musings on women, which use mechanical analogies that,
surprisingly, are relevant here! With a little luck and process of
elimination, players can figure out which muffs, bushings and bevels go
where. Solution:
Conical -: Cobalt Muff + Clamp Bushing + 2-Spoke Bevel
Spherical: Emerald Muff + Screw-on Bushing + 4-Spoke Bevel
Cubical -: Mauve Muff + Push-on Bushing + 3-Spoke Bevel
Rufus automatically puts the completed items in the inventory, so players can
do trial and error that way, too.
• Obtain Avial Power Inverter (automatic)
• Obtain Dorsal Power Inverter (automatic)
• Obtain Bi-Nausal Power Inverter (automatic)
• Put one of the inverters into the mine bike
• Jump in driver's seat
• Drive through tunnel (the "set off" option while stationary)
The journey takes players into the tunnel, past a suspicious lever, then back
to start...except facing the other way.
• Press hanging button to enter control station
• Take red Cloth
• Dismount into upper tunnel
• Pull red lever (lowers railway switch gate by Doc)
• Press button (creates shortcut from downstairs to control room)
• Ride mine bike again, then dismount when it's at the bottom switching area
• Revisit Doc's viaduct area
• Take key from lowered skeleton (obtain Key of Trackman)
• Return to control room
• Use new key on locked hatch
• Take the Wrench
• Return to Doc
• Inspect Booze (or ask "Is that booze?")
• Use the red Cloth on Booze
• Obtain Cloth with Alcohol (automatic)
• Use alcohol-soaked cloth on dirty mirror by tunnel
• Obtain Polished Mirror (automatic)
• Hang mirror on skeleton (if too high, turn red lever by control room again)
• Put Halogen Lamp in the signaling light base (where red light was earlier)
• Use Wrench on signal gate's maintenance box
• Steal the Fuse
• Put one of the power inverters into the box, raising the skeleton
The skeleton's mirror is now at the halogen beam's level, illuminating the
tunnel.
• Enter viaduct tunnel
• Take Empty Bottle by bend
• Steal outer turn's suspicious Lever
• Return to switching station
• Put Lever in shunting lever box
• Operate said lever (switches mine cart to crane's track)
• Drive cart to crane
• Enter the crane
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: NEWTON WOULD BE PROUD
Install one of the inverters into the crane's maintenance box, just to
see what happens. This can't be done after the next step.
• Place Fuse in crane's maintenance box
• Operate crane lever
• Fail to move Goal because Rufus isn't "laid back" enough
• Revisit Doc
• Talk about "I have some more interesting challenges."
• Say "Doc, I am too fidgety."
• When Doc shows how to meditate, use Empty Bottle on his Booze
• Fixate on the horizon
• Return to crane
• Use Leg of Skeleton on crane seat
• Fixate on horizon
• Select "PUPUP"
• Drink from flask (automatic)
• Operate crane controls to put Goal into bike's garbage container
• Drive bike back to switching station
• Drive into viaduct tunnel, only to return to starting point
• Enter control room with bike elevator
• Open upper switching track controls (automatic)
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: MASTER OF SWITCHES
Solve the "unbeatable mine maze" puzzle. Players can look at the chart
in the control room for an idea of how their ride will go, but this part
is mostly trial and error. Solution: yellow and red levers pulled down,
left dial on green, right dial on red. (The achievement doesn't require
getting it right on the first try.)
When I say a lever is pulled down, it's visibly leaning toward the mine bike.
By default, all levers start pulled down; the dials both start on yellow. If
all goes well, the bike leaves the junkyard and continues to the final area.
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: HUSSA - GET ON WITH THE PLOT!
Reach Lower Ascension Station. This can't be missed.

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
5) LOWER ASCENSION STATION [WK05]
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Rufus begins in a candy shop, item-less to begin the final chapter.
• Inspect chewing gum dispenser
• Obtain Chewing Gum (automatic)
• Use gum from inventory (obtain Chewed Gum)
• Inspect anchovy machine
• Take Anchovies on a Stick
• Use item from inventory (obtain Stick)
• Inspect blue shelf
• Inspect plug, turning the cotton candy machine back on
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: GOURMET
Eat all kinds of cotton candy (neutral, calzone, phosphor) by dipping the
anchovy Stick into the batch. The left-hand lever changes the flavor.
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: LEVER LOVER
Operate the seemingly pointless light switches twenty times. This can be
done with all three or just a single one.
• Obtain Phosphor Cotton Candy
• Enter the lobby
• Enter the concourse
• Take Mosaic Stone from floor
• Take Pebble from pile (right-hand side)
• Use Phosphor Cotton Candy on hanging light
• Obtain Glowing Phosphor Cotton Candy (automatic)
• Enter next-door elevator
• Open utility cabinet
• Take Soap

• Take Bucket
• Return to Lobby
• Enter the Tower area
• Use Bucket on green water pool (obtain Bucket with Water)
• Add Soap to Bucket of Water (obtain Bucket with Soapy Water)
• Add Mop to water bucket (obtain Mop with Soapy Water)
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: PARADOX
Try throwing a pebble into the pool for a funny scene.
• Return to the concourse
• Use soapy mop on the dirty mosaic
• Reobtain Mop (automatic)
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: HISTORY OF DEPONIA
Observe all three mosaic depictions -- there's one in the lobby and two
in the concourse. (To observe them, stick the glowing phosphor cotton
candy in their open hatches to illuminate the pictures. Just observing
the dirty images doesn't count.) Naturally, the dirty mosaic must be
cleaned first to have its hatch accessible.
• Illuminate the recently cleaned mosaic
• Combine Chewed Gum and Mosaic Piece (obtain Mosaic Stone with Chewing Gum)
• Use the gummed-up mosaic piece on illuminated mosaic's hole
This begins a mosaic-mending minigame [
http://i.imgur.com/50GstzY.png] with
multi-colored pieces. Each is part of a diagram, so it only goes in one
correct space. Basic strategy is to find border pieces first, then build
inwards. The last piece is the yellow gum-stuck one -- it doesn't fit. Try
mashing it in repeatedly to break the mosaic, ending the puzzle.
• Inspect mosaic pieces (obtain Chewed Gum)
• Inspect fusebox behind mosaic
• Take Torch Light from within fusebox
• Reboot the fusebox to make the next-door elevator operable
• Visit the elevator area
• Operate rebooted controls
• Visit rooftops (automatic)

• Return to concourse
• Combine Chewed Gum and Embellishment (obtain Slingshot)
• Combine Slingshot and Pebble (obtain Slingshot with Pebble)
• Used loaded slingshot to destroy hanging lamp, darkening the room
This still won't be enough to pass by Argus. Only disguising as Cletus works.
Some of the inventory items' descriptions mention Cletus, so it's not hard
to figure out which ones. (Right-clicking Cletus even gives a harsh summary
of his appearance.)
• Combine Embellishment and Mop Handle (obtain Hook)
• Use Hook on fallen Lampshade
• Combine Lampshade and Flag (obtain Organon Getup)
• Revisit elevator
• Use Mop on Oil Tank Lid (obtain Greasy Mop)
• Combine Organon Getup and Greasy Mop (obtain Improvised Cletus Costume)
• Return to concourse
• Don the Cletus costume (only possible in this dark environment)
• Try passing by Argus
• Return to rooftops
• Pick "What's the agreement between you and the Organon?"
• Do all the ensuing options about hating Deponia, wanting to leave, etc.
• Pick "The Organons said something about a backup cartridge..."
• Pick "I need the backup cartridge."
• Pick "Goal is unconscious."
• Obtain Backup Cartridge (automatic)
• Sneak through concourse while disguised (automatic scene)
• Return to candy shop
• Use Torch Light to make puddle of phosphor trail glow
• Get another Anchovy on a Stick from machine (don't eat it)
• Enter lobby and repeat process until trail leads into Tower area
• Repeat process in Tower area
• Inspect the piece of fence where the trail stops
• Exit behind the tower
• Inspect stack of needles (obtain Straw)
• Use Anchovy on a Stick with phosphor puddle (obtain Bait)
• Use Torch Light with Bait (obtain Glowing Bait)
• Use hook on tunnel grating
• Enter cable chute
• Use Glowing Bait on whale
• Continue down chute to the docks
• Enter cable boat
• View scene with Goal, Doc and Captain Bozo (automatic)
• Press slot on Goal's temple

• Use Steel Brush on Contact Pins, Reading Head, and Chip
• Show Doc the cleaned cartridge (automatic)
• Speak to Goal about various things (automatic)
• Return to the Tower to find it guarded
• Use Straw on Pool
• Enter trunk
• Enter left window
• Use crank
• Enter French door
• Take Fork
• Enter pipe
• Use Fork on the squeaky Horn
• Squeeze horn to shoot fork
• Enter canopy top
• Walk over platypus toy
• Take platypus toy
• Walk back towards canopy top

• Pick "Well..."
• Pick "It's just that..."
• Pick "Alright then. I'm going to tell you now..."
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: LOVING THE TRUTH
Tell Goal the unvarnished truth. This is mandatory using options above.
• Return to tower roof (automatic)
• Obtain Backup Cartridge (automatic)
• Return to concourse (automatic scene)
• Take cartridge from the machine
• Visit elevator (automatic scene)
• Pick the bottom dialogue option
• Turn to face Ulysses
• Inspect Ulysses' handle
The end! Note that the final achievement can only be done after completing
the game.
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: HUSSA - THE CHORUS-GUYS RULE!
Complete the game.
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: DROGGELJUG
After beating the game, go into the options and check the box next to
the silly face. This is the Droggeljug option -- it changes all items,
descriptions and dialogue to "Droggeljug," which naturally complicates
events. Complete the game with this mode active to get the achievement.
Also: for those playing "Deponia: The Complete Journey," finishing the first
game immediately leads into the second, "Chaos on Deponia".

III. ACHIEVEMENTS [ACHV]
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
There are nineteen achievements to find in Deponia. All except one can be
done during the first playthrough. (On the PS4 version, the Droggeljug trophy
is omitted and replaced with the platinum "Deponia unlocked!" trophy.) A 20th
achievement spanning all acts is added to the "Complete Journey" version of
the game.
Legend:
B - Bronze
S - Silver
G - Gold
P - Platinum

ALL ACTS [1 ACHIEVEMENT]
________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This achievement is only present in "Deponia: The Complete Journey," taking
the place of "Droggeljug". It requires finding pointless junk items hidden
around the world to construct a metal Rufus head (see under Sculpture part
of bonus section). These items don't appear in the inventory, only the bonus
section.
_
|_| JUNKYARD KING
Find the eleven junk items hidden around the world. These aren't actual
items, as mentioned above, and thus aren't highlighted using Mouse 3. A
special SFX plays when they're found, however.

KUVAQ [8 ACHIEVEMENTS]
______________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
_
|B| KINDERGARTEN
¯ Complete the tutorial. As with some achievements in this game, skipping
the event/minigame may NOT trigger it, so first-timers should avoid those
shortcuts.
_
|S| BRUSHHUNTER
¯ Capture the rogue toothbrush in Toni's house, by: (1) taking bathroom
plunger (2) using plunger to pry open closet by fridge sink (3) reaching
in to take the mousetrap (3) baiting mousetrap with peas (4) putting the
baited trap in the toothbrush's corner.
_
|S| BULLSEYE [
http://i.imgur.com/jPnFCoi.gif]
¯ Complete the calibration minigame on the launchpad at Toni's house, i.e.
without skipping it entirely. A solution (left-down, up-right, left-down,
up-right, down-right, up-right, left-down, left-down, up-right) is given
here and shown in the GIF file above.
_
|G| DEMOLITION EXPERT
¯ When using the detonation plan chart outside Lonzo's bar for the first
time, correctly blow up all correct houses. This image shows the right
markers:
http://i.imgur.com/c7qllCq.png
_
|G| STAND-IN WAITER
¯ Brew the wake-up espresso for Goal. This long, complicated process is
listed in the walkthrough and is mandatory to complete.
_
|G| THAT SEEMS ABOUT RIGHT...
¯ Complete the pigeon sabotage minigame without skipping it. The goal's to
screw up the birds' magnetic guidance systems, done by swapping the big
bird's sensors with the smallest. As the video above shows, only four
of the wheels can be rotated: the entire middle row (A, B, C) and the
middle on the third row (D). Do the following circles with the listed
number of 90-degree rotations: C-1, B-2, A-1, B-2, C-1, B-2, D-1. This
file shows the correct route, too:

_
|G| MISSING POSTAGE
¯ Tweak the post office's white and orange cats with tranquilizer and
espresso, respectively, then try mailing a package through postbot (via
voucher). This must be done before postbot freaks out in his bubblewrap
frenzy.
_
|S| HUSSA - WHO'S GONNA CARE?
¯ Escape Kuvaq with Goal. This is mandatory.

|G| ACHIEVEMENT: DIY'ER
¯ Correctly put all three inverters back together properly near the mine
bike. This is mandatory to complete. The solution for the forgetful:
Conical -: Cobalt Muff + Clamp Bushing + 2-Spoke Bevel
Spherical: Emerald Muff + Screw-on Bushing + 4-Spoke Bevel
Cubical -: Mauve Muff + Push-on Bushing + 3-Spoke Bevel
_
|S| ACHIEVEMENT: Newton Would Be Proud
¯ Install one of the inverters into the crane's maintenance box, just to
see what happens. This must be done before loading Goal into the bike's
garbage tray.
_
|G| ACHIEVEMENT: MASTER OF SWITCHES
¯ Solve the "unbeatable mine maze" puzzle with the following control room
configuration: yellow and red levers pulled down, left dial on green,
right dial on red. (The achievement doesn't require getting it right on
the first try.) This is mandatory in the long run.
_
|S| ACHIEVEMENT: HUSSA - GET ON WITH THE PLOT!
¯ Reach Lower Ascension Station. This can't be missed.

_
|G| ACHIEVEMENT: GOURMET
¯ Eat all kinds of cotton candy (neutral, calzone, phosphor) by dipping the
anchovy Stick into the batch. The left-hand lever changes the flavor. It
isn't necessary to chew the gum as well, though it doesn't hurt anything.
_
|B| ACHIEVEMENT: LEVER LOVER
¯ Operate the seemingly pointless light switches on the cotton candy rig
twenty times total. It doesn't matter which switch(es) are screwed with.
_
|G| ACHIEVEMENT: PARADOX
¯ Try throwing a pebble into the tower's pool. The pebble is on the ground
in the concourse.
_
|S| ACHIEVEMENT: HISTORY OF DEPONIA
¯ Observe all three mosaic depictions -- there's one in the lobby and two
in the concourse. (To observe them, stick the glowing phosphor cotton
candy in their open hatches to illuminate the pictures, then right-click
on their images.) The dirty mosaic must be cleaned first before its hatch
is accessible.
_
|S| ACHIEVEMENT: LOVING THE TRUTH
¯ Tell Goal the truth in the lifeboat. This is mandatory to continue.
_
|G| ACHIEVEMENT: HUSSA - THE CHORUS-GUYS RULE!
¯ Complete the game.
_
|P| ACHIEVEMENT: DEPONIA UNLOCKED!
¯ Obtain all other achievements/trophies. This is a PS4-only trophy.

POST-GAME ONLY [1 ACHIEVEMENT]
______________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
The following trophy isn't found on PS4, only the base game of Deponia. It's
not present in "Deponia: the Complete Journey" collection either, oddly...
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: DROGGELJUG
After beating the game, go into the options and check the box next to
the silly face. This is the Droggeljug option -- it changes all items,
descriptions and dialogue to "Droggeljug," which is both funny and a huge
complication for repeat players. Completing the game with the option
enabled earns the achievement...though it's said to be glitched, so it
may all be for naught.

_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
[Q] - Do you have an image album I can look at?
[A] - Sure, use this:
https://imgur.com/a/eajsz
I also keep hard copies in case the links break, so email me if this
occurs.
[Q] - I didn't get the achievement for the minigame!
[A] - Skipping those portions may not trigger the achievement, so reload an
earlier save and do 'em legitimately.
[Q] - Goal won't drink the coffee!
[A] - Make sure to place the funnel first. It's located on the launch pad at
Toni's house.
[Q] - I can't take Doc's booze while he meditates!
[A] - Players are supposed to use the Empty Bottle to steal some slyly, not
nick his flask. The empty bottle's in the viaduct's tunnel, near the
broken lever Rufus must take.
[Q] - What do the suspicious lights in the candy store do/indicate?
[A] - Nothing, to my knowledge. If they have a function, feel free to write
in and tell me.
[Q] - What does Deponia mean?
[A] - I believe it's a play on "deponie," a German word for junkyards. This
makes more sense since the developers are German.
[Q] - Are the other Deponia games worth getting?
[A] - Haven't played any other ones yet, but based on how enjoyable this one
was, my spidey senses are saying "yes".
[Q] - Does this game have a developer commentary?
[A] - It does, but only in the Deponia: The Complete Journey version, or so
I'm told.
[Q] - Where can I find system requirements for PC?
[A] - Assuming it's for the Steam version -- which the guide used -- just use
the Deponia steam page: store.steampowered.com/app/214340/Deponia/
