I. CONTROLS [CNTR]
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This is a point-and-click game, so controls are fairly simple.
Left-clicking items and people initates contact with the target, picking the
item up or starting conversation. (If Rufus is too far away, nothing occurs.)
In the inventory menu, and the occasional field icon, items can be combined
by selecting one (the cursor changes to that item to denote it's being used)
and using it on another. If the pair works, a new item is created.
Right-clicking items is the observation button, giving wry banter about the
object or person. In some cases, valuable clues and puzzle hints are given,
so this is always useful. Unlike left-clicking, right-clicking faraway things
still works.
Other useful things to know:
• Double-clicking entrances to buildings/paths enters them automatically,
without waiting for Rufus to slow-walk there.
• Using mouse 3 (i.e. depressing a mouse's clickable scroll wheel) highlights
all objects of note, which helps players see what the hell they're supposed
to be finding! As someone who played without knowing this...it's better to
know it from the get-go. Naturally, playing with the mouse-wheel inventory
option enabled is recommended.
• On PC, pressing ESC skips current conversations and scenes. This is useful
if players are replaying segments or testing certain things. In a few cases
later on, ESC will save time when Rufus only has a certain amount of time
to act. (I'll remind readers when this occurs.)
• Skipping minigames can disqualify players from achievements, so don't do
that. The walkthrough will give solutions and most are fairly simple.

1) PROLOGUE [WK01]
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Like the other Deponia games, there's yet another game-wide collectible to
locate. This time, it's issues of Hats Magazine. There are twelve hidden in
the stages, although there's no related achievement this time. (Found copies
appear in the bonus section.) These are missable and found by clicking them
in the scenery -- there's no 'use item' icon for them.
The game opens in a snowy locale. Players can opt into the tutorial if they
want -- there's no attendent trophy to claim. Starting inventory: a Lighter.
• Climb down ladder
• Enter next screen
• Take the Spray Can from the snowbank
• Create the Improvised Flamethrower (Spray Can + Lighter)
• Return to the Edward Snowman vehicle
• Climb up ladder
• Use the flamethrower on the frozen toolbox
• Open toolbox and take Blowtorch from within
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Against Better Judgment
Put the blowtorch back in after taking it out. Those reading the FAQ need
to pocket it again, however.
• Return to the blast tower in the next screen
• Use Blowtorch on door bolt
• Light blowtorch (click and hold on the propane nozzle)
• Start welding by holding the torch to the door's individual bolts
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Distraction
While welding, heat three of the bolts, then stop when a fewlock shadow
goes by. This has to be timed right, so it's best to heavily heat a few
before trying for the final one. (It will never work by quickly tapping
three in a row, for instance.)
• Break through the deadbolts (heat all 4 until yellow line appears in each)
• Pry open the door by button-mashing with the mouse
• In the stairwell, take the Pole
• Hit the fewlock's arm (×3)
• Button-mash to close the door
• While it's held fast, use the Pole on the door's circular slot to lock it
_
|_| Hat #1: Bobble Hats
Hanging in the control room's ceiling. [
https://i.imgur.com/HSQBEvK.png]
• Inspect the red button
• Climb onto the bomb
• Kick the rusted clamp
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Sole Music
While clicking the clamp, a dopey-looking fewlock rears its head. Kick it
until the trophy pops (roughly ×8).
• Kick the rusted clamp (×4 total)
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: Huzza, He's Back
Complete the prologue.

2) KUVAQ [WK02]
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Rufus begins in a grounded hot air balloon/shack.
• Take the Wrench
• Exit balloon
• Inspect pyramid of crystal glasses
• Reenter balloon
• Take the Bubble Wrap
• Exit balloon (see pyramid get wrecked)
• Enter east screen to speak with McChronicle
• Pick "What have you done?"
• Pick "Who are you, anyway?"
• Pick "Well...what do you mean, 'turn back time'?"
• Crank the chronocar's time-warp lever (automatic)
Reversing time will lose certain inventory items, note. The Wrench and Bubble
Wrap are automatically reclaimed to save time, however.
• While McChronicle backs up, use the "come on" button (×3)
• Exit to McChronicle's screen (Burnert's Cabin area)
• Exit north
• Speak to Tuck
• Say "Do you know anything about visions?"
• Say "I saw the pink elephant, too!"
• Say "Will you help me scare the pink elephant off?"
• Return to McChronicle
• Say "How come we remember everything after turning the crank?"
• Return to Tuck's screen
• Exit towards Kuvaq's gates
• Enter town
• Speak to Wenzel (automatic if ignored)
• Enter alleyway
• Speak to Lotti
• Say "So you're really a lady now?"
• Say "You don't have a bust" (obtain Bra Underwire)
_
|_| HAT 2/12: Windmill Hat
Background by pub entrance. [
https://i.imgur.com/rYtvKSk.png]
• Enter Lonzo's pub
• Take the Glass and Straw from where Lotti was sitting
• Take the Dart from the dartboard
• Throw Dart at dartboard (obtain Power Inverter)
• Revisit Burnert's Cabin area
• Inspect the Nilbot machine
• Open the hatch
• Install the Power Inverter on the left side to activate Chillbot Mode
• Use Glass on ice cube dispenser
• Hit red button (obtain Glass with Ice Cubes)
• Return to Kuvaq festival area
• Put Glass with Ice Cubes on an empty barbecue
• Walk away to make the cubes melt
• Take the Glass of Water off barbecue
• Dump the Glass of Water on the nearby stove's baked potato
• Take the Baked Potato
• Use Baked Potato from inventory (obtain Aluminum Foil and Potato)
• Create the Tin Foil Hat (Aluminum Foil + Straw)
• Return to Tuck
• Give him the Tin Foil Hat
• Return to Burnert's Cabin
• Turn the chronocar's crank to reverse time
• Help McChronicle park using the "come on" option (×3)
This time it will park perfectly.
• Enter Tuck's screen
• Speak to Tuck (automatic)
• Return to Lonzo's Pub and speak to Toni
• Pick "Enough talk. Let's go."
• Return to Tuck's screen
• Speak with Toni (automatic)
• Return to the balloon area
• Speak with Tuck (automatic)
• Right-click on the shards of glass
• Inspect the shards of glass more closely
• Inspect the glowing piece (obtain Shard of Glass)
• Inspect the scraps
This next part can be a little annoying. Rufus, Tuck and McChronicle will all
travel in a band as Rufus susses out the elephant's trail, using the radiated
glass fragment. To do this part, look for the pink footprints (hover mouse
cursor over) and follow them until they exit into new screens. Players can't
access the inventory, menus or even leave the screen until this part is done
correctly.
For those who have trouble, note that the final screen has the adventurers
standing in the foreground, so it actually obscures parts of the trail. The
elephant goes down the right-hand side towards Kuvaq, cuts across the junk
heaps in the background, goes counterclockwise to the junction's left-hand
side, then ends at the cactus. As before, the cactus button only appears if
the trail is followed correctly.
• Follow trail from balloon area to junction
• Double back
• Follow trail into Burnert's Cabin screen
• Follow trail until it stops near the lamppost cactus
• Press the cactus' secret button
• Enter the secret elephant cave (automatic)
Exploration is then stalled since Tuck won't stay behind without a weapon.
Burnert's Cabin is now available, however.
• Return to balloon area
• Take Junk from the ballast bag
• Enter Burnert's Cabin
• Use Wrench on the accelerant tank's spigot (obtain Tap)
• Take a Rocket from the barrel
• Create Gunpowder (Shard of Glass + Rocket)
• Return to Kuvaq
• Get the Bra Underwire from Lotti again
• Get the Dart, Beard, Glass and Straw from the pub again
Rufus can't use the dartboard method again to win a Power Inverter, note.
• Use Tap on honey dispenser near Wenzel's booth
• Create a Sticky Beard (Beard + Honey Dispenser)
• Give Rat Boy the Sticky Beard
• Talk to Wenzel about playing the Rotten Fruit game
This game is basically Tic-Tac-Toe, just with rotten fruit floating in the
3x3 array. The only "safe spot" is the middle one. Placing a fruit in any
other slot will cause a rat to swim (clockwise) three spaces ahead and eat
the fruit there. Rufus and the Rat Boy can both use this method to sabotage
strategies.
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Shall We Play a Game?
On the first turn of the Rotten Fruit game, pick any slot other than
the middle.
There aren't any surefire strategies to win this game, unfortunately. Those
who wanted the achievement can use the middle square after the first game,
though, which should make things way easier, as players can always destroy
the opponent's fruit on turn two.
• Win the Rotten Fruit game (obtain Rat)
• Open drawer atop honey dispenser
• Take the Wax inside
• Give the Wax to Lotti (obtain Ladyshave razor)
• Use Ladyshave on Rat Boy (obtain Bees)
• Give the Rat to Zoon, the vendor near the town gates
• Take the Muzzleloader nearby
• Obtain the Blowpipe (give Zoon the Bees, Dart and Straw)
• Use Blowpipe on dartboard in Lonzo's pub
• Steal the Throttle Limiter and Power Inverter near Lonzo
• Return to the Nilbot near Burnert's Cabin
• Put Power Inverter in left side
• Put Throttle Limiter in right side
This starts a minigame where Rufus must, using three colored levers, make the
Killbot turn into Chillbot. Each lever controls a rotational axis (red spins
inverter clockwise; blue and green control longitudinal and latitudinal spin,
respectively) with a 90-degree turn.
Here's one simple solution:
• Green lever
• Blue lever
• Red lever
• Green lever
• Blue lever
• Red lever
• Remove Throttle Limiter
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Kuvaq Minigame Master
Complete the Rotten Fruit game and Chillbot Mode game without skipping.
Obviously this won't pop here if players skipped past the first game.
• Use Glass on Chillbot
• Press button to get Glass with Ice Cubes
• Return to Kuvaq
• Use Glass with Ice Cubes on barbecue near Wenzel, then walk away
• Take Glass of Water
• Pour Glass of Water on baked potato nearby
• Take the Baked Potato
• Use Baked Potato from inventory (obtain Potato and Aluminum Foil)
• Use Potato on the potato-halving machine nearby
• Take the Potato Halves
• Create the Ear Protectors (Potato Halves + Bra Underwire)
• Give Zoon the Ear Protectors
• Ask the band to play their hit single
• Take the jug player's Bottle Brush when he puts it down
• Return to Tuck
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Weapons 101
Give Tuck every configuration of the gun. In other words...
• Give Tuck the Muzzleloader
• Give Tuck the Muzzleloader + Gunpowder
• Give Tuck the Muzzleloader + Gunpowder + Junk
• Give Tuck the Muzzleloader + Gunpowder + Junk + Bottle Brush
• Give Tuck the Loaded Muzzleloader (final combination detailed above)
• Go down one of the tunnels
_
|_| Hat #3: Hunter's Cap
Green hat in ladder/crank screen. [
https://i.imgur.com/DHJb2ty.png]
• Climb up the ladder
• Talk to McChronicle (automatic)
A time-travel automatically occurs here, prompting some repeat acquisitions.
• Take the Wrench
• Take the Bubble Wrap
• Exit balloon
• Use Wrench on the signs
• Open hatch and descend
• Return to the "elephant cave" gift shop area
• Try picking up one of the knick-knacks on the shelf
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Masseltov
When everything gets knocked over, keep breaking porcelain toilet seats.
• Use Bubble Wrap on the china moose's antlers
• Drop, then take, an intact Toilet Seat
• Return to balloon area
• Use Toilet Seat on the bracket where the signs were
• Descend through the hatch again
• Use the crank to raise the toilet seat bracket higher
• Ascend to balloon area
• Use Rope on raised toilet seat
• Use the Noose on the hatch
• Speak to McChronicle again
• Speak to Tuck again
• Speak to Toni at the bar again ("Enough talk. Let's go.")
• Revisit the balloon area
• Choose any dialogue option
• Enter Burnert's Cabin
• Pick "Okay, okay. I'm sorry."
• Take Rubble from near the chronocar
• Reenter balloon house
• Open stove and throw burning Rubble in
• When given the opportunity, inspect the balloon's rope
• Move further down the junction
• Speak to the pink elephant (automatic)
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Quickdraw
At some point in the chat, the cursor is reenabled. Hit the cactus button
before the pink elephant finishes its sentence. Note that hitting the
button will need to be done regardless.
• Enter the secret elephant cave
• Enter the UFO
• Hit the middle button
• Hit the green button
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: And Again, And Again, And...
Use the UFO to reach Future Elysium. Mandatory.

Using the ice cream elevator, order, then eat, five ice cream cones. The
flavors don't matter.
• Backtrack and enter the time machine
• Open the purple compartment lid
• Talk to McChronicle
• Say "Ah... There's a fire extinguisher in the storage compartment" option
• Obtain Fire Extinguisher? (automatic)
• Return to balcony
• Use Fire Extinguisher? on the ice cream dumbwaiter
• Press one of the elevator buttons
• Inspect the broken dumbwaiter
• Order ice cream again
• Inspect the dropped Hook and attach it to the nearby pipe
• Inspect the cable reel and throw it in the railing window box
• Use Pole on the newly formed gap in the balcony
• Try operating the Pole (×3)
• Button-mash to destroy the balcony
• Use the Hook on the beams
• Climb onto the cable
• Grab the cable
• Pull up onto the cable
• Wake Goal up
• Inspect the cable

¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This will be a very long chapter. Rufus begins in the lower elevator dock
with nothing, as per usual.
• Approach the elevator
• Press the call button
• Eavesdrop on Goal and Cletus (automatic)
• Right-click on Precious' cage
• Try taking the Antidote
• Open the bag near Goal (×2) to get the Antidote
• Inspect Precious' cage again (×2) to liberate the critter
• Take the Laser Pointer from the cage's interior
• Leave the screen
• Speak to McChronicle
• Use Laser Pointer on pipe Cletus is searching through
This starts a minigame where Rufus must help the toxic beast escape. The map
is shaped like the image below, with the goal being to lure Precious from the
starting point (1) to the final spot (8). It won't be easy, however, as there
are grates that activate and close depending on how one moves/backtracks.
|¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯|
| 8 | 6 | 5 | 2 | 1 |
|_____|_____|_____|_____|_____|
| | | |
| 7 | 4 | 3 |
|_____|_____|_____|
The best solution I could find is like so:
• 2, 5, 4, 3, 2, 5, 4, 5, 2, 3,
4, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 5, 4, 5,
2, 3, 4, 7, 6, 7, 4, 3, 2, 5, 6, 8
• Go down and give McChronicle the Antidote
• Move to the pipe near Cletus
• Steal his ID Card
• Move to the pipe near Cletus again
• Press the call button
• Use ID Card on the exposed slot
After a scene, Rufus will have access to a residential area.
• Enter Goal/Ulysses' house on the left
• Take the Monster Feet Slippers
• Take the Coal Tongs
• Use Coal Tongs on the Piano (obtain White Key)
To save some later annoyances, make sure to take the White Key before going
into the bathroom.
• Enter bathroom
• See scene with Ulysses (automatic)
• Take Ulysses' Helmet
• Exit building
• Use Ulysses' Helmet on the terminal by the elevator
• Click on the blue elevator cam button
• Activate the intercom
• Pick "Because otherwise I'll activate the self-destruct sequence."
• Press self-destruct button
• Try inputting the self-destruct sequence
• Enter elevator
• Press keyboard (×2) to bring up Ronny
• Say "Umm...no. I have to hurry to the locks."
• See scene scene with McChronicle (automatic)
• Visit Fun Zone (automatic)
In the Fun Zone, Rufus can do four minigames with the goal to reach a maximum
score of 10,000. The pool and race track options are easiest, as they require
no strategy besides button-mashing and button-holding, respectively. The Ball
Pit requires using arrow keys (on an interface) to smack kids with a
family-friendly plastic ball howitzer; once aligned, use the crosshairs
button to let 'em fly. The game ends when all kids are knocked out.
Finally, there's golf. As with many golf sims, the first gauge (vertical)
controls swing strength and the second gauge (speedometer-ish) controls the
swing trajectory. The only way to win this mode is doing a perfect swing --
that is, stopping the first gauge DIRECTLY on the orange marker, then doing
the second gauge directly on the sweet spot (green area) in the middle.
NOTE: Completing the race ends the current day and resets the time loop. The
starting point is Ulysses' bathroom, right after Goal leaves. Those who took
the White Key begin the loop with it (the main reason it was taken early).
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Funscore
Complete every minigame in the Fun Zone to reach a score of 9999. This
requires doing racing last, for reasons explained above.
• Restart the time loop
• Take Ulysses' Helmet
• Take the White Key from the piano, if not done already
• Let the timer for stopping Goal expire (required to enter elevator, note)
• Revisit the docks where McChronicle's at
• Take the Mallet
• Enter elevator
• Use Mallet on counterweight
Rufus can now visit new zones -- the Chill-Out Zone and Council of Elders --
in addition to the three he's seen so far. Notice that the computer core key
is missing (clicking on it reveals it's red as a hotdog).
• Go to Chill-Out Zone
• Take the Heat Lamp from the chicks' incubator
• Enter the cocktail bar
• Use White Key on the wurst-making machine (obtain Sausage Key)
_

• Return to elevator
• Visit Council of Elders chamber
_
|_| HAT 6/12: Cop Hat

• Take Plastic Balls from the ball pit
• Take Drink off table
• Use Heat Lamp on Elder Quatre's tanning lamp
• Use Plastic Balls on the Heat Lamp (obtain Melted Plastic)
• Use Sausage Key on the Heat Lamp (obtain Red Key)
• Pick up the Aluminum Reflector
• Pick up the Straw next to it
• Combine Aluminum Reflector and Straw (obtain Tin Foil Hat)
• Enter elevator
• Use Red Key on empty space
• Use it to reach the computer core
• Inspect the harddrive tower
• Rip out some wires inside
• Use Tinfoil Hat on the harddrive
Ronny's database gets wiped, but he activates the computer scanner, allowing
Rufus to use items on it and create cartridges from the species scanned. (The
'cool zombie dinosaur' is just a joke reference here, unfortunately.)
• Use Lizard Skin on scanner
• Take the cartridge (obtain Cartridge 01)
• Revisit the chaotic Chill-Out Zone
• Enter the spa
• Use Monster Feet Slippers on Elder Un
• Use Melted Plastic on Elder Un (obtain Sample of Back Hair)
• Enter cocktail lounge
• Take a second Drink
• Talk to Elder Trois
• Take the Giant Maggot off the table
• Inspect the blender
This minigame requires moving the beverage between the small glass, medium
glass, and blender. The goal is to get all the drink in the blender while
the alcoholic fish is safe and snug in a glass. One possible solution:
• Medium + pitcher
• Small + medium
• Pitcher + small
• Pitcher + medium
• Medium + small
• Small + pitcher
• Obtain 40-centiliter Drink (automatic)
• Use Giant Maggot on blender
• Press button (obtain Ground Maggot)
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: Chunky
Kill the maggot in the blender.
• Use Ground Maggot on wurst machine (obtain Maggot Sausage)
• Give 40-centiliter Drink to Elder Trois
• Give Maggot Sausage to Elder Trois
• Revisit Habitat Ring
• Give Sample of Back Hair to Henna
• Obtain Leo Pattern (automatic)
• Obtain Striped-Sable Pattern (automatic)
• Obtain Stinky-Grouch Pattern (automatic)
• Return to Computer Core
• Use Striped-Sable Pattern on scanner
• Take Cartridge 03
• Use Striped-Sable Pattern on scanner
• Use Stinky-Grouch Pattern on scanner
• Scan Rufus (automatic once all three patterns are scanned)
• Take Cartridge 02
With all three cartridges, we can now appease Elder Deux in the Chill-Out
Zone's petting zoo. His request: a fluffy animal to pet. Rufus must use the
jackalope generator, along with cartridges, to mix traits. There are two
cartridge slots in the Chill-Out Zone (petting zoo, lounge) and a final one
in the computer core, which decides the masseuse.
To start off with, each species has five traits by default.
___ _____________ ___________ _______ ___________ ___________ ___________
| C | SPECIES | EXTREMITY | MOOD | BODY HAIR | BUILD | COLOR |
|¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯|
| 1 | PS Monitor | Horns | Evil | Scales | All Fours | Yellow |
| 2 | Clown Clone | Silly Hat | Funny | None | 2-Legged | Polka Dot |
| 3 | Bear | Bearlike | Happy | Fur | Bearlike* | Striped |
|___|_____________|___________|_______|___________|___________|___________|
* - can go on 2- or 4-legs (looks similar to human icon)
Elder Deux, Elder Un and the lounge "king" each give hints at what type of
creation they want, especially with regards to wrong answers. For instance,
the masseuse can't have fur or scales and its hands have to be strong; the
petting zoo animal has to be fluffy, striped and nonthreatening.
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: 1001 Jackalopes
Create a jackalope out of every possible permutation (243). This requires
using the jackalope machine, editing the cartridges, then sticking that
cartridge in a slot to "spawn" the monster. Obviously, this takes an
ungodly amount of time and it's easy to mess up in. See the Achievements
section for a full list of permutations. Obviously, doing this annoying
feat is best done in the petting zoo, since the jackalope generator is
right there.
For those who don't care about the achievement, or are keeping a separate
save to do later, here are the solutions, doable on any cartridge:
• Horns + Happy + Fur + All Fours + Striped
• Bearlike + Evil + no body hair + 2-Legged + Yellow
• Silly Hat + Happy + Scales + Bearlike + Polka Dot
The cartridge slots for the next spot are accessible behind hatches. Use the
mouse 3 button to find them, if it's proving difficult for some reason.
• Put the Horns/Happy/Fur/All Fours/Striped cartridge in the petting zoo
• Put the Silly Hat/Happy/Scales/Bearlike/Polka Dot cartridge in the lounge
• Put the Bearlike/Evil/No Hair/2-Legged/Yellow cartridge in the comp. core
• Activate lever in computer core, summoning the masseuse monster
If everything's done correctly, the next time one enters (or moves around in)
the Chill-Out Zone, the screens are updated accordingly. Note, however, that
reaching this stage prevents access to the Fun Zone, potentially screwing
players out of the minigame-related achievements (if they were skipping them
for some reason).
• Enter the spa area
• Knock on the sauna door
• Enter sauna (automatic)
• Take sweat off Elder Un's gut
• Take sweat off Elder Deux's gut
• Rub the sweat on Rufus so he can move around
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Sadist
In the sauna, dump coal in Elder Un's lap (×5) using the water ladle. Do
this before the bracelet-attaching step.
• Inspect Un's bracelet and attach it to the ventilation grate
• Pick up coal with the water ladle
• Dump coal in Elder Un's lap
• Enter duct
• Visit to the Council of Elders (automatic)
• Complete the emergency terminal minigame
In this game, the goal is to press all the colored pillars down as far as
they'll go. Rufus wins if they're all completely pushed in, though it won't
be as easy as that (pushing some in raises others up). Some info:
• Orange -> raises green and blue
• Pink -> raises blue
• Green -> raises pink (blue?) and gold
• Blue -> raises orange
• Gold -> raises pink and green
Honestly, this minigame is very easy to do with trial and error. I suggest
just alternating in reverse order (gold, blue, green, pink, orange) until the
pillars are all depressed. If done this way, blue should be the final press.
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Elysian Minigame-Master
Complete all Elysium minigames without skipping. This includes those at
the Fun Zone, the Precious-in-the-pipe puzzle, and this one, of course.
• Take the note and read the self-destruct code
• Do a time loop (automatic) to end up in Goal's bathroom
• Take Ulysses' Helmet
• Use Ulysses' Helmet on terminal outside Habitat Ring's elevator
• Use intercom button
• Pick "Because otherwise I'll activate the self-destruct sequence."
• Use the mushroom cloud button
• Input the self-destruct sequence
• Revisit the lower docks (automatic)
• Speak to Goal (automatic)
• Try entering elevator
• Press button by McChronicle
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: Funtime's Over
Escape Elysium and land back on the planet.

05) CARNIVAL [WK05]
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Rufus begins here with nothing.
• Take Goal's hand
• Talk to the Junk Knights -or- try exiting area
_
|_| HAT 7/12: Executioner's Mask
By junk in lower left of prophet's area [
https://i.imgur.com/8UBAtcp.png]
• Enter fortune teller's area
• Take Bowling Ball Polisher
• Take Bowling Ball
• Enter next screen containing carnival games
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Thuna...?
At the Tunnel of Love, click on the background's dolphin skeleton.
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Monstrous Harassment
At the Tunnel of Love, there's a spot in the water where bubbles and a
tentacle occasionally surface. Click here repeatedly.
• Exit to the right to find the Tunnel of Love
• Obtain Sausage Token (automatic)
• Take the issue of Current Magazine out of the trashcan
• Return to carnival game area
• Give Sausage Token to the robot
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: The Customer is Always Right
Give the token to the sausage bot near the carnival games, then choose
the "But I want a sausage!!" option repeatedly (five times, I believe).
Do this before the next few steps.
• Chat up the robot a few times, then say "Can you just take one more look?"
• Open the robot's hatch
• Steal the Fuse from inside
• Open crane game's hatch
• Take the Throttle Limiter
• Put the Fuse in the hatch
The next steps require cheating at the carnival games.
• At the crane game, move the crane arm left
• Activate the crane (it drops above the other game's weights)
• Pick up the hammer and hit the "test your strength" game
• Move crane arm right, then activate
• Move crane arm right again, then activate
• Take the Magnetic Fishing Rod from the duck game
• Enter the roller coaster area (northeast exit)
• Take the Watercolors
• Take the Gingerbread Heart
• Use Magnetic Fishing Rod on the drain (obtain Key)
• Use Key on the booth's locked door
• Take the change (obtain Four Coins)
• Pull brake to stop roller coaster
_
|_| HAT 8/12: Paper Hat
On the floor in the ticket booth [
https://i.imgur.com/RyTPhAu.png]
• Advance up the roller coaster rails
• Inspect the Star From the Morning Sky (×3) to steal it
• Return one screen back
• Use Four Coins (×3) on the gumball machine
• Take the Three Pieces of Chewing Gum
• Use last Coin on the gumball machine
The ring comes out, but rolls down...and is eaten by a wombat, which flees
into a hall of mirrors. So typical!
• Return to prophet area
• Show Current Magazine to reading Junk Knight (obtain Retro Magazine)
• Enter fortune teller's area
• Show Current Magazine to fortune teller
• Steal the Turban Cloth
• Show Retro Magazine to fortune teller
• Give Bowling Ball Polisher to fortune teller
• Show Current Magazine to fortune teller
This leaves the fortune teller with a polished head.
• Create the Plugged Bowling Ball (Bowling Ball + Gumballs)
• Apply makeup to the bowling ball (Plugged Bowling Ball + Watercolors)
• Combine Mock-Up Goal (Turban Cloth + Bowling Ball with Makeup On)
• Stick the Mock-Up Goal in the photo backdrop's small slot
• Open camera contraption's hatch
• Stick in Throttle Limiter
Rufus can now take photos by pulling the contraption's auto-rigger. I suggest
saving before doing this next achievement, just in case.
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Photo Friend
Take four different photos with the mock-up Goal. Only three are doable
now; the trophy pops when the final mandatory one is done. Rufus must
apply the morning star and gingerbread heart items manually -- this is
irreversible, hence why the stock photo should be taken first.
Anyway, take these photos in this order:
- Photo of just Mock-up Goal (no star or heart)
- Photo with Star OR heart in background
- Photo with both Star and Gingerbread Heart
• Show the fortune teller any photo
• Take the Camera
• Use Camera on fortune teller (obtain Photo of a Vision)
• Put Camera back on its auto-shooter rigging
• Return to prophet screen
• Speak to the prophet
• Say "Okay. How about: thou shalt never carve things in stone?"
• Give the Photo of a Vision to the prophet (obtain Hammer and Chisel)
• Give Watercolors to prophet
Those who want both achievements coming up should save here. Maybe favor a
separate save, even, for those who don't keep multiples normally.
• Speak to the junk knights
• Say "You need a job?"
• Revisit the carnival game area (automatic)
• Enter the hall of mirrors
The game shifts to an old-school RPG interface. Use the arrow keys to advance
up the labyrinth corridor.
• Proceed forward a ways to encounter the wombat
• Pick up the glass shard
• Throw glass shard at wombat
• Repeat last two steps (×5)
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: No Man Left Behind!
Defeat the wombat without any of the Junk Knights perishing. Finishing
the beast quickly is fairly easy, plus the robot has great defense.
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Every Man For Himself!
Defeat the wombat with every last Junk Knight perishing. Basically, just
stall the fight for as long as possible -- typically, throwing the glass
three times, then waiting for the wombat to finish off the lackeys. Rufus
must not die, however.
Note that the fates of the junk knights has zero effect on anything.
• Obtain Unicorn Ring (automatic)
• Return to McChronicle in the roller coaster area
• Use Hammer and Chisel on his hands
• Return to fortune teller area
• Speak to McChronicle (automatic)
• Take the Hand off the camera
• Put Hand on the mock-up Goal
• Put Unicorn Ring on the hand
• Speak to McChronicle and say "Okay. Let's do this."
The "Photo Friend" achievement should pop just as Goal enters the area.
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: Boat of Love, Boat of Love
Complete the carnival scenes. Mandatory.

• Speak to Daniel (automatic)
• Exit screen into Paradox City
• Speak to Rokko McChronicle (automatic)
• Ask Rokko questions (optional)
• Say "You obviously cannot help me."
This town has a few areas. The hub contains a garage and diner; the paths in
the background lead to a farm and watchtower, respectively; the lower-right
path goes to the junk drill.
• Enter farm (left background exit)

• Speak to worker (×2) to learn he wants a peanut butter sandwich
• Use Stone Sculpture on the drill hole
• Pick up the Boulder
• Kick the siren
While the siren is activated, the town is on a fewlock watch. This really
only affects one area: the watchtower area in the hub's NE background exit.
As long as the alarm is blaring, the watchman's attention is diverted.
• While alarm is on, visit the watchtower/bridge area
• Use Battery-Powered Platypus on the trashbin
• Flip bridge lever
• Take Fewlock Ribs from the carcass
• Return to hub and enter diner
• Give Boulder to Ungh the caveman (obtain Laxative)

_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Play It Again, Ronny
Inspect the jukebox a few times. There isn't any icon to suggest that it
can be selected, so just button-mash a bit.
• Reenter hub
• Give Rokko the Broken Butter Churn (obtain Cylinder Head)
• Talk to Rokko about the Timepod (×2-3) until option is exhausted
• Reenter diner
• Talk to Rita
• Say "What do you think of Rokko?"
If Rita's new option doesn't appear, make sure to discuss the Timepod with
Rokko until it no longer shows as a convo option. (Note: it's impossible to
do this properly during the mandatory chat with Rokko when first entering the
city, even though the option appears briefly. Don't get confused by this!)
• Reenter hub
• Talk to Rokko
• Say "I think I know someone who likes you."
• Revisit diner
• Inspect peanuts on diner counter
• Say "For love."
• Say "I want to marry Rita off to Rokko." (obtain Peanuts)
• Reenter hub
• Use Time Machine Key
• Inspect red time machine (×2)
• Open the hood
• Combine Cylinder Head, Peanuts and Milk

• Say "That's easy! Turbans are all the rage."
• Take the Portal Map
• Reenter diner
• Give Portal Map to Vince

The time machine...lands back at the carnival from earlier. Because this is
deterministic time travel, some items can't be picked up, and areas beyond
the fortune teller's booth are blocked off.
• Enter junk knights' area
• Try taking the Spade
• Take the Sheet
• Speak to gravedigger
• Say "You look familiar."

Rufus and Vince return to Paradox City. Most areas are inaccessible.
• Speak to Rokko (automatic)
• Revisit junk quarry

• Take the Unicorn Ring from the carnival
• Talk to Rokko again
• Enter Timepod (automatic)

causes Rufus to revisit places and discover new ones.
• Take the Crossbow
• Pick up the Clock Hand pile
• Create the Loaded Crossbow (Crossbow + Clock Hand)
• Create the Tachyon Crossbow (Loaded Crossbow + puddle of pink goo)
• Inspect timepod

• Say "Your hat is stupid, Ronny!"
• Inspect the paper airplane in Rufus' face until he reads it
• Say "Tinfoil hats have still managed to win a good fourth place."
• Use 4D Glasses

_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: Portals Come in Packs
Complete the portal-hopping scenes. Mandatory.
Rufus and Goal wind up back in Kuvaq.
• Exit junk tunnels
• Speak to new NPCs at site of Burnert's cabin (formerly)
• Inspect Nilbot machine
• Take the Throttle Limiter
• Use Throttle Limiter on chronocar's strengthening link (swapping them)
• Turn crank to reset time
The day resets back in Kuvaq, only there's now a timer due to the presence of
the throttle limiter earlier.
• Exit screen
• Quickly jump on the timepod as it takes off
NOTE: Jumping on the launching craft can be very difficult for some reason.
Failing to do that step means players must redo the earlier scene (throttle
limiter replacement, etc.) to retry. Remember the keyboard's Escape button
skips current scenes -- this can give some crucial time to do the step right.
• Disembark nearby (automatic)
• Speak to McChronicle (automatic)
• Choose any dialogue option
• Exit screen
• Kick over the shinshuma-klux
• "Speak" to Tuck
• Pick "You have to overpower the Utopians."
• Pick "Okay...on my command!"
• Pick any command when the Utopian rights the contraption
• "Speak" to Tuck again
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Heading the Inverter
When Tuck throws the object, successfully click on it.
• Take Goal's hand
• Pull Rufus up (button-mashing event)
• Deal with aftermath (automatic)
Rufus and Goal are in a blizzarding area now.
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Apoca...huh?
Wait a full minute before completing this brief segment. It's easiest to
do by idling when control returns.
• Exit screen
• Turn chronocar's crank
Rufus wakes back up in the hot air balloon.
• Exit balloon
• Inspect pyramid of glasses
• Reenter balloon
• Take bubble wrap
• Exit balloon
• Watch a great deal of cutscenes/dialogue (automatic)
This time, Rufus is back on Elysium, at the earlier timeline when Goal was
descending the elevator.
• Exit bathroom
• See scene in living room (automatic)
• Exit outdoors (automatic)
• Pick up the Milk bottles in front of the neighbor's apartment
• Move to end of path to wrap back around onto left-hand side
• Reenter Goal's house
A timer is present in this next sequence. Failing results in having to do
everything over again, although that'll need to happen anyway in the long
run.
• Pick up Coal Tongs
• Use Coal Tongs on Clock (obtain Clock Hand)
• Enter time machine
• Hit brown armrest button
• Hit green button to learn an immobilizer is in place
• Hit left button twice
• Hit green button twice
Rufus goes into another portal, this one leading to Goal's childhood phase.
Another timer is present.
_
|_| HAT 12/12: Superhero Cap
Hanging on the coat rack peg. The hat only appears in this particular
portal area, not the regular one. [
https://i.imgur.com/MWAnHef.png]
• Use Milk on loose panel near living room's ramp
• Turn on TV to hypnotize Goal
• Inspect Goal (obtain Lollipop)
• Use Lollipop on Ulysses' lunchbox
• Take "Cello Music is Easy with Boo Boo Bear" video off table
• Use Cello Music video on the Piano music video in front of Goal (swaps 'em)
The elephants will catch up and redo everything again. This time, however,
tampering with the past adds new objects to the present.
• Take Denture Glue
• Take Glasses
• Exit bathroom (automatic scene that skips the outdoor elephant chase)
• Take Cheese from the loose ramp-area hatch
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Paradox!
Try combining the Milk and Cheese.
• Take Coal Tongs
• Use Coal Tongs on clock (obtain Clock Hand)
• Knock vase off mantelpiece
• Take some Shards of Glass
• Take the Bow near the time machine
• Make Sticky Shards (Denture Glue + Shards of Glass)
• Make 4D Glasses (Glasses + Sticky Shards)
• Make a Tachyon Arrow (Cheese + Clock Hand)
• Make a Tachyon Bow and Arrow (Bow + Tachyon Arrow)
• Reenter bathroom
• Use 4D Glasses
• Use Tachyon Bow and Arrow on toilet portal
• Enter portal
If players can't finish this part because the bow isn't around, remember to
switch the piano video with the cello one. This changes the future and makes
Goal have a smashed cello in the present.
Doing the Elysium segment properly leads to a minigame in interim time, where
Rufus must evade capture by riding a gnarly junk wave and dodging all the
portals. The controls are basic and just require going left or right; there's
no way to accelerate or anything. The segment ends when enough portal groups
are opened (click on them from afar to activate) and then dodged.
_
|_| MISSABLE ACHIEVEMENT: Blast From the Past
While surfing the junk in interim time, go through three different time
portals. Most players just use the first three, which pops the cheevo
fairly easily. Only portals shot by tachyon arrows count, note.
Afterwards...
• Button-mash to free Rufus from some scrap metal
• Button-mash after clicking on pipe to reach sidewalk
• Enter timepod
• See rescue scene outside Elysium
• Say "Of course I have a plan!"
• Say "There's only one thing you can do: You have to let go."
• Say "Not at all."
THE END!
_
|_| ACHIEVEMENT: And Everything Comes Full Circle
Complete the game.

As usual, for problematic achievements, I'll explain a bit further here.
____________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
PHOTO FRIEND
____________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Take four different pics with the fake Goal at the carnival. To do this
properly, take a default photo with no adornments. Then, take a photo after
adding the star and gingerbread heart, respectively. The trophy should pop
when the final (plot-related) photo is taken.
________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
THUNA...? / MONSTROUS HARASSMENT
________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Both of these occur at the carnival's Tunnel of Love area, and neither has an
icon to inspect it (when Mouse 3 button is pressed). Inspect the dolphin
skeleton in the background for the former; the latter triggers by repeatedly
bothering the monster in the water. Look for the intermittent bubbling and
go from there.
_______________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
1001 JACKALOPES

IV. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS [FAQZ]
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
[Q] - Is there an image album for the hat locations?
[A] - Sure is:
https://imgur.com/a/2Zyejuf
Note that this may spoil some things, locations, etc.
[Q] - How come Cletus keeps closing the ID Card slot when I open it?
[A] - Only noisy flatulence prevents him from hearing Ronny's annoying tone.
After solving the plague-spit monitor puzzle, give McChronicle the
antidote first.
[Q] - The fortune teller won't learn about turbans to get distracted!
[A] - Make Rufus become the gravedigger first. Asking about hat fashion 'fore
that just leads to pointless answers (which, naturally, come from Rufus
earlier in the other dimension).
[Q] - I can't get the denture glue to appear in the lategame Elysium segment!
[A] - When visiting the past Elysium, make sure to take Goal's lollipop and
stick it in Ulysses' lunchbox. This is apparently the impetus for him
having dentures later.
[Q] - Why isn't the bow appearing in the lategame Elysium segment?
[A] - The bow is for the cello, and it only appears if Rufus gives baby Goal
the Cello video instead of the default piano one.
