As a point-and-clicker, controls are rather simple: left-click is 'action'
and takes objects, while right-click is inspect, giving an overview of what
the item is (including from afar). To use items, drag them from the inventory
bag icon into the scene and wait for the gear icon to appear. To combine
items, drag one inventory item onto another. Voila!

NOTE: The Director's Cut version has extra scenes, so those playing older,
non-DC versions (Gameboy Advance, PS1, etc.) may be thrown for a loop. Those
older versions also have less puzzle-solving elements.

so on. The completed message is:

at Nico's house occurs. Afterward, players control George Stobbard, a yankee

the borders first and work inward). When the mystery's solved, Nico returns

• Talk to the countess (upstairs) about the Chalice and herself
• Return to mausoleum
• Take the Bible
• Inspect upper window to
• Combine lamp snuffer stick with the tissue
• Inspect upper window to shut it
• Combine lamp snuffer stick with the tissue again (obtain Carved Figurine)

• Show countess the Bible
• Speak to Lopez about the well (×3)
• Inspect the tree between hose and the house (obtain Dowsing Rod)
• Show Dowsing Rod to Lopez

George finds the well and descends.

• Inspect lion carving (×2)
• Use the Mirror in the well's shaft of light
• Use the Carved Figurine on the dark alcove

This leads to a rotating ring puzzle. The goal is to turn the two rings so
a certain number is displayed, then press the lower-right button (shaped like
a down-facing triangle) to "confirm" the entry. So, if an entry was XXXVI,
the outer ring would count as XXX, and the inner ring would be the VI.

• Talk to Nico
• Jump off train car's open (left-hand) door

[Q] - The Director's Cut version won't even launch on Steam!
[A] - This is a common error. Players just need to run oalinst (application)
      in the game files. In other words: open the Steam library, right-click
      on the game, go into Properties, click Browse Local Files (opens the
      game files if someone doesn't know where they are) and run the app
      mentioned above. Voila!

[Q] - I have some items left over in my inventory...
[A] - Some items only have limited (or no) use, but aren't removed from the
      inventory...basically they're just clutter. Y'might be able to get a
      funny exchange about it though.

[Q] - Why can't George die?
[A] - I'm not sure why they removed so many methods for him dying. It doesn't
      really help anything, unlike some of the Director's Cut content.

[Q] - Are there any extra scenes?
[A] - The Director's Cut version has extra content in-game and out. Check the
      option screen's checkboxes (left-hand side) to see more info on Nico &
      George. The main title's Templar cross icon also has info about the dev
      team. More info may be at [brokensword.com]!
