Introduction

Bluebird's Illusion is a 2004 fan-made visual novel, created by a Chinese
team and based on the Fullmetal Alchemist anime and manga series.

I decided to write this short walkthrough because there are basically no guides
available for it, or they were hosted in sites which no longer exist.
As it's usual for visual novels, knowing all the paths from the beginning will
spoil most of the fun, so use this walkthrough only if you're really stuck, or
if you suspect that you're still missing something.

Main storylines
---------------------------------

These are storylines which revolve around a specific character and topic. You
need to follow them from beginning to end, meaning that, if you missed one of
the stages, the rest of the storyline will be cut off. It's possible to see
several storylines during the same playthrough, but not all, given the limit
of places you can visit in a single day.

For the most part, these storylines don't affect the ending you'll get
(but see the Endings section).


Al & the murder case
--------------------

-From Day 2 to Day 5: Don't work overtime any day.

-Day 6: If you followed Roy & Hughes storyline up to this point, don't
agree to go out with Roy on your free day. Don't work overtime. Agree to go
out with Al on your free day.


Roy & Hughes
------------

-Day 2: Visit Roy's office in your free time.

-Day 3: Visit the Courtyard in your free time.

-Day 4: Visit the Reception in your free time.

-Day 5: Visit Roy's office in your free time.

-Day 6: During lunch, agree to go out with Roy on your free day.

The endings

There are four different endings in this game.


Pride's ending
--------------

This is the default one, and the most likely to get when
playing casually.


Al's ending
-----------

Complete Al & the murder case storyline (see above section).


Roy's ending
------------

Complete Roy & Hughes storyline (see above section).


Tea Alchemist ending
--------------------

You need to have finished the game at least once before this ending becomes
available.

-Day 2 to Day 6: Complete Bradley's family storyline (see above), and always
serve tea to Bradley first.

-Day 7 (holiday): When Bradley calls you, accept to go to headquarters, and
then accept to stay in the
military.

Secondary storylines

These storylines always happen at the same place. As with the main
storylines,you need to follow all the stages each day, or they'll be cut off.
The main storyline scenes appear before them, so it's possible you'll have
to re-enter the same place until you get them.

Scenes at home

During the first week, Edward has the option of wandering around the house
before going to sleep. Different scenes will play upon re-entering the
Bathroom, Yard, Front door or Kitchen. Unlike the previous storylines, these
scenes can appear any day of the week.
There are 3 different scenes for the Bathroom, Yard and Kitchen, and 4 different
scenes at the Front door.


Edward's encounter with the Black Shadows

This storyline works in a different way than the others.


-Days 2 and 3: Work overtime in at least one of these days.

-Days 5 and 6: Don't work overtime in any of these days.

-Second week: Visit the Black alley while searching for clues with Al.


Edward in the basement
----------------------

During days 2, 3 and 5 of the second week, stay with Al at home instead of
searching
for clues. Keep in mind, however, that if you waste too much time and don't
find the
clues, it's game over.

Black Shadows in the Archive (Developer's Diaries)

These are easter egg scenes in which the main character encounters the game's
developers as black shadows. They appear after the main storyline scene (if
any),
so it's possible you'll have to re-enter the place. After the scene plays, a new
Developer's Diary will be unlocked in the Gallery menu.

with Al's ending.

-Outtake 2 (The legend of GAME OVER) & Outtake 4 (Equivalent exchange): Finish
the
game with any ending.

-Outtake 5 (Bradley vs. Hohenheinm!?): Finish the game with Pride's ending.

-Outtake 6 (Tea incident 1 & 2): Finish the game with the Tea Alchemist ending.

-Outtake 7 (Old friend): Finish the game with Roy's ending.

-Outtake 8 (Aborted extra scene): Complete the main storylines of Riza, Havoc,
Breda,
Falman and Fuery (requires more than one playthrough).

How to find the clues during the second week
--------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------

There's a limit of four days to find all the clues, otherwise, you'll get a
"game over".

-Clue 1: Go to the Headquarter's entrance with either Al or Roy.

-Clue 2: Go to the Break room with Roy and listen to the soldier's
conversation. ATTENTION:
This clue will ONLY appear after finding Clue 1, and you have only two chances.
That means,
if you go to the Break room too early and too many times, you'll lose the
chance to get this
clue, and the game will eventually lead to a "game over".

-Clue 3: Go to the Market with Al in the afternoon and accompany the teenager
to his home.
Unlike the previous clue, you'll get as many chances as you need to get this
one, but it only
appears in the afternoon.
