2) Creating a hunter
To create a hunter just simply choose the model and apprance and then after
just write the desired name. All the other info such as town, state and e-mail
is totally optional.
*note: the stats on the left side of the screen will indicate how many hunts
you've been in, birds shot, your accuratcy during your hunts and accuratcy at
the target range.

3) Gamebirds and non-game animals
Gamebirds
Upland: Pheasant, Bobwhite Quail, California Quail, Sage Grouse, Prairie
Chicken, Ruffed Grouse, Woodcock and Mourning Dove.
Waterfowl: Canada Goose, Snow Goose, Mallard, Pintail, Greenwing Teal,
Ringneck Duck and Canvasback.
Turkey: Eastern Turkey and Merraims Turkey.
Non-game animals: Butterflies, Dragonflys, Bees, Turtle, Trout, Rabbit,
Squirrel, whitetail deer and ....the bigfoot.
*note: Most of them are unkillable and unbagable, the only non-game you can
kill are deer and thats about it.

4) Types of hunts
Upland: This type of hunt you mostly walk throught brushy areas with a dog
trying to locate birds and flushing them up. You wont see the birds
on the ground as they are in the vegetation. To locatethem just
simply listen for their calls. The only type of upland bird that is
not hunted that way isthe mourning doves. The best way to hunt them
is to pass shot them when they fly by.
Tips: - Some birds such as quail, woodcock, prairie chicken and pheasant will
make ticking sounds when are about to flush. This is helpful for
indicating how close are you to a bird about to flush.
- When flushing quail keep in mind that sometimes they are in huge
flocks up to 8-10 birds.
-Pheasants dont alwase call, one of the many reasons why hunting dogs
are so useful.
-When your dog is on a point, the beeper or bell collar sound will
stop.
- If you flushed a bird and missed, pay close attention where it will
land as sometimes you can see
it on the ground.
-Using a dog whistle to call in doves is an effective way to hunt them.
Waterfowl: This type of hunt involves hunting ducks and geese. There are
sevral ways to hunt them. You can either call and decoy, pass
shooting while randomly walking around and jump shooting
flocks that are feeding on land or near shore. The best hunting
method is calling and decoying.
Tips: -Decoying duck and geese will alwase keep comming back as long as
you keep calling.
-Mixing decoy spreads will attract more birds.
-Binoculers make it easier to identifie sexes and spicies.
-When jump shooting, run towards the flock in the last few yards to
get a closer shot.
-Calling is very useful for calling in faraway birds
-Beeper and bell collars on your dog will spook incomming birds.
Turkey: This is probably the toughest type of hunt in the game, not only are
turkeys very wary, they are uncommon as well. The best way to hunt
them is by calling and decoying. If you want a realchallange try spot
and stalk or tracking.
Tips: -Alwase use a ground blind when calling
-avoid calling to much to pervent spooking incomming birds
-Listen for gobbles when trying to locate toms.
-When tracking look more for scratchings on the ground since they
are much easier to spot than tracks.
-The describe sceen key is very useful for finding tracks.
-Hens are more brownish in color and got a bluer head than toms.
-The describe the sceen key can help determine if a tom is real
trophy or not.
-shooting turkeys with a bow dosent scare them as much as a shot from
a shotgun.

6)Target Range
The target range is the place where can you test the preformence of all the
weapons avalable. There are many targets around set at diffrent yardages,
so you can sigh in your weapon at diffrent yardages.Theres also a skeet\trap
range to test your wingshooting. Keep in mind that targets and skeet\trap
ranges are not only found in the target range map but in sevral locations
in the game as well.

7)Firearms and equipment
1-Firearms
10 Gauge Over-Under Shotgun
This gun is probably the most powerful weapon in the game. It could kill
ducks up to 60 yards or more, clean. However because this firearm is heavy,
the aim gets shacky after awhile, the hunter tires out faster carring it
and the reload is slow. This gun works well for turkeys and geese.
Ammo Compasaty: 2
12 Gauge Pump Shotgun
The best all around gun. With good range, handleling, shell compasty, rate
of fire and knock down power its good for hunting just about anything.
Ammo Compasty: 5(3 for waterfowl)
12 Gauge Semi Auto Shotgun
Good all around gun like the pump but because of its quick pointing, some
shooters may have trouble hitting fast flying targets such as doves.
Ammo Compasty: 5(3 for waterfowl)
12 Gauge Side by side
Its a good gun if your looking for a challenge with 2 shots. Performence
and everything is the same as the other 12 gauges just that your reduced to
2 shots.
Ammo Compasty: 2
20 Gauge Semi Auto Shotgun
Oporates almost the same way as the 12 Semi but its range and knock down
is reduced. This gun works best for close range shots, ducks, upland birds
and doves.
Ammo Compasty: 5(3 for waterfowl)
410. Single shot
Possably the worst shotgun to use. The range, knock down power and rate
of fire is lower than any other shotgun. It dose add a challenge to veterans
that wanna challenge.

Muzzleloader
The most challenging gun to use in the game. With only 1 shot, very slow
reload, slow handling and very slow rate of fire, this gun add a challenge
to turkey hunting.

Compound Bow
While this bow may have only 1 shot, limited range and very slow reload,
it is very stealthy and powerful.
Ammo Compasty: 1
Crossbow
One of the best weapons to use for turkey hunting. Extremly far range,
power and stealth makethis weapon just deadly.
*note that the scope cannot be taken off.
Choke
This is an item use to increase the range of your shots. Full choke will
increase range to 50 or more yards while modified keeps it to 35-40 yards.
2-Misc
Binoculars
Binoculars are the most useful tool for turkey hunting and to some extant
duck hunting. Its useful for determining sexes and trophy status of turkeys
and shooting range. You can also use it to identifie ducks if you got trouble
identifing them.
Spotting Scope
This item is used like binoculers except that it has way more zoom which
makes it better for spotting turkeys from a long range.
Map
This is the most USEFUL item in the game next to your firearm. With
maps you can find new areas in a location your hunting and for finding
your way around.
GPS (Global Positioning System)
This item is nearly identical to the map except its not as descriptive
but however it dose indicate. the direction your going.
*The waypoints do NOT work. This is probably a glitch or something.
Compase
Another extremly important item for your hunts. This will indicate the
direction that your going.
Camera
Used to take pics of your hunts and whatever you see.
*taking pictures of ambient animals will cause your game to crash. Its
another glitch not fixed.
Turkey Blind
This is another really useful to use when calling turkeys to concel
yourself much easier. The birds will not spook what so ever....well unless
they walk right into the blind.
Duck Blind
Works the same way as the turkey blind except its used for ducks.
Dog Whistle
Used to call your dog back from a long ways off.
*You can call in doves with it.
Bell Collar
This item lets you know where your dog is and to some extent lets you
locate game when it stops ringing.
Beeper Collar
Works the same way as the bell collar except that when the dog finds a
birds, it will change the way it beeps.

5-Calls
Mallard hail call
This call is one of the best to use for duck hunting since you can call
ducks from really far away with it. Mostly attracts mallards but other
types of ducks as well.
Mallard feeding call
Good for convinsing incomming birds to land in the decoy spread. Attracts
mostly mallard but other types of ducks as well.
Pintail call
A call used mostly to attract pintails and other ducks.
Greenwing teal call
Used to attract greenwing teal but works for other types of ducks as well.
Its a good confidence call for shy birds.
Ringneck call
A call used to attract ringnecks and other ducks.
Canada goose call
The best and only call for geese hunting. Attracts both canadas and snows.
Owl locater call
A call used to make turkeys shock gobble so you can locate them easier.
Turkey box call
This is the best call for turkeys. Calls in Toms but sometimes hens.
Turkey slate call
Used for calling in turkeys when they are close.
6-Decoys
Mallard decoys
Mostly attracts mallards and other types of ducks.
Pintail decoys
Attracts pintails and other ducks
Ringneck decoys
Attracts ringnecks and other ducks
Canvasback decoys
Attracts mostly canvasback and other ducks too.
Canada goose floter decoys
Used to attract both types of geese in watery areas. It works very
effectively with the land sets as well.
Canada goose land decoys
Used to attract both canadas and snows on land. Works well with floters
set not to far and comes in feeding and sentry variations.
Eastern turkey decoys
Used to attract eastern turkey but merriams too.
Merriams turkey decoys
Used to attract merriams turkey but easterns too.
7-Vehicals
Trucks
They are the workhorses of bird hunting. They get you to your favorite
areas fast and easy....well only if you use the roads and trails that is.
Going off road will reduce your trucks speed and going downhills can
be quite bumpy.
ATV's (All Terrain Vehical)
A really good vehical for accessing remote areas off the roads.
Snowmobile
Works the same as the ATV except that its only avalable in winter hunts.
Boat
The most essantielle vehical for waterfowl hunting and to reach remote
areas for upland hunting. It also come with a built in blind.
*While vehicals are useful for getting to areas fast, they do spook the birds.

8) The hunt view
Inventory: Its located on the bottom right on your screen, simply click on
the item that you wanna use. You can also cycle througth it.
Dog commands
Hunt: Makes your dog hunt in the direction you want it to go. When a dog
finds a birds, its will sniff the ground and point near the bird. This
commande is use only for upland hunting.
Fetch: Makes your dog retrive a bird you just shot.
Come: calls back your dog.
*If the dog is on a point it will not come back to you no what until you
flush the covey. Hence why alwase keep your dog close.
Stay: makes your dog stay.
Choosing decoy formation:
This little screen will pop up when you click on a duck or goose decoy in
your inventory. You'll have to choose the spread that you want and once
you've choosen, aline the decoys with the wind for the best results.
Firearm icon: click on it to bring up your gun.
Reload: reloads your firearm
*with bows this not neccasairy
Ammo: shows how much ammo is in the chamber
Look mode: allows you to get a better view
Gamebag: this will show you the birds you've bagged and limits for diffrent
birds.
Limits
Upland:
pheasant: 3 males only
restriction: no hens
sage grouse and ruffed grouse: 6 mixed if they both occure in the same area.
prairie chicken: 4
woodcock: 4
bobwhite and california quails: 10 mixed if both occure in the same area.
mourning dove: 15
Waterfowl:
ducks: 14
restrictions: you can bag only 4 canvasback and 4 pintails. Only 6 hens can
be taken.
geese: 12
Turkey: 3
Keep in mind that any bird that you bagged thats over the limit, pheasant
hens, not in season or with a cheat code will be maked with a red X.
Compase icon: this will show you the direction your going, wind speed,
wind direction( whereever the black arrow is pointing) and time of day
(game time).
Back: exit hunt

Pause: just what it says
Target range:
icons and everything is the same just that your inventory is much smaller
and only certain items you can use. You can clear targets and have
access to every firearm in the game.
Locker: Gives you access to every firearm in the game.
Clear: clears all targets of bullet hole and arrows
Multiplayer: identical to single player hunt view with the exception of
the chat button.
Chat: allows you to write and send messages to other players.
*in some servers profanaties are censored

9) Logbook
This is simply your trophy room. It will display the info of the birds
that you shot such as location, weigth, gun and ammo used and range it
was shot. For turkeys it will show the length of beards and spurs and
the total score. Birds that were poached or taken with a cheat code will
be maked with a big poached or cheated in the back ground of the info.
Theres also an option to print your trophy. The cookbook will show you
recepies for the birds you shot, you can print the recepies as well.

10)Multiplayer
Hosting a server
To host a multiplayer game choose what type of server you want it to be
whather internet, LAN or gamespy. Then after click on host. Now just
choose the location and type of hunt you want. Choose your equipement
and than after you be at the multiplayer options. Write the name, password
and choose/select options disered.
-Options
No swearing: keeping this on will censore all profanitys.
Shoot other hunter: keeping this on will auto booth peaple shooters.
Keep event log: records all things the other hunters do and say on the
server.
Time limit
Kill limit
Flood limit
Max players
Joining a server
Click on join and select either internet, LAN or Gamespy. If you picked
internet click yes if your connected and then write your IP address of
your computer. For LAN and gamespy just simply click on a server on the
list that you wanna join.
*The lower the ping, the faster your computer will run on the server.

11) Rares\Glitches\Easter Eggs
Rares
The bigfoot
On some hunts on rare occasions you can find the bigfoot creature. You
cannot kill and bag him but you could take pics. If your really serious
about finding this rare, heres a few tips.
-Bigfoots footsteps sound just like your hunter's.
-Look for huge feet prints
-Sometimes it will roar, something to listen for.
*On some custom maps bigfoot is very common.
Glitches
Dissappearing turtles
To do this, just find any turtle and walk over it and it will vanish.
Instant reload
This is a glitch that can only be done at the target range. When you
run out of ammo for your shotgun or better yet the muzzleloader instade
of reloading normally, click on locker and reselect the same weapon you
just had and it be automacticly reloaded without the long wait.
Breaking the barrier of locations
To do this you must use the cheat code that automactily brings you to
the birds, but do it when your near the edge of the map and volla!
Walking in deep water
Again for this glitch you must use a cheat that brings you to the birds
but this time close to the water. You can still run and walk normally
when under water but you cant shoot. Another good reason why should'nt
use cheats.
Circling doves
This happens on very rare occasions but sometimes you'll see doves
circling rapiddly for no reason. After awhile they will dissapear in
the air.
Climbing steep hills easier.
When climbing a steep hill or mountain that the hunter cant climb
normally, instade of pressing the forward key, run sideways buy
pressing forward with the left or right keys. Once the hunter starts
climbing, use the mouse to go the direction up the hill you want.
Setting duck decoys on land
To do this jsut find an extremly small puddle of water or go the closet
you can to shore and just set decoys.
Geese landing in the air
This sometimes will happen when your calling or decoying geese in.
Sometimes instade of landing on the ground like it suposs to, it lands
on thin air 25-40 yards off the ground.
Awkward waterfowl dead possions
This only happens when you shoot a duck or goose and it lands on
sligthly hilly or elevated terrain.
Auto Crossbow reload anytime
To do this shoot your arrow, click on look and then click on your
firearm again.
Hunter mistaking ambients for turkeys
This is an annoying glitch to watch for when hunting trophy turkeys.
When you look at an animal such as a squirrel, rabbit or deer press the
descripbe the sceen key and the hunter will identifie them as turkeys.
Calling in deer
This happens very frequantly when turkey calling and sometimes
when calling ducks or geese. Just call and the deer will come.
*note that you can also call in ducks and geese with the turkey calls
and doves with duck calls.
Picture Crash
This is serious glitch not fixed by sunstorm. When you take pictures
of non game animalsand when you quit, the game will crash earasing all
trophys you bagged in that hunt.
Upland Crashes in the XP
This only happens if you got a windows XP. When you go upland hunting
and flush it will crash back to the desktop.

Easter Eggs
Hope the warden dont see that!
You only get this message if you kill a deer and try to bag it. I added
this as an easter egg cause deer are not found on stock maps. In real life
if you poach, you'll get quite a heavy fine.

Q-Where do i get thoose new custom maps i heard so much about?
A-You can get them at www.realmoutfitters.com
Q: Is it possible to make new birds, gun skins and other stuff for this
game?
A-Unfortuanatly no:(, but however in the pass i remember that some peaple
have made new gun skins for this game but i cant find them anywhere on
the internet. The only thing you could create for this game is new
locations.
Q-My waterfowl and upland hunting is getting too easy, is there any way
to use the bow or muzzleloader in thoose hunts?
A-Yes it is possible, theres a file you can download at
www.realmoutfitters.com
Q-I got trouble shooting doves, got any good advise?
A-The doves in the game are very challeging to shoot so try practising
at the trap range at level 4. Once your proficient at it your ready.
The best dove gun in my opinion is the 12 Gauge Pump with full choke
and #6 to 8 shot. To get really easy calm shots at them, call them in
with the dog whistle.
Q-Im trying very to find a trophy tom but cant find them.
A-The big monster turkey tom is the hardest bird in the game to find. The
real secret to getting one is patience, patience and more patience. Use
the descripbe sceen key when in full zoom with the binoculers or spotting
scope when you spot a turkey. If the hunter says "Oh! He's a monster!",
then go for him. Also when trying to call in turkeys, dont shoot the
first tom you see, keep field judging them until you find one. Of course
this means that you must pass up alot ofof good sized toms but its worth
it.
Q-How come the waypoints on the GPS dont work?
A-Its a glitch.
Q-I heard that you can use a chain gun, is this true?
A-yep, but its a cheat code. 1 word of advise, dont try reloading it
otherwise it will jam.
Q-Can you tell me the cheats for this game?
A-hmmm...lets see...NO! I dont post cheats in my walkthrough as cheats
ruin the fun of this game. Theres many sites on the internet that will
give you the cheats for this game.
