Nirnroot guide
Version 1.0

Nirnroot Locations.

Intro:
This is walkthrough is about the Nirnroot. You can find Nirnroots everywhere
they are mainly buried in the ground, but there are some emerged in water. And
also in houses, in flowerpots. They have four illuminated green leaves
sticking out of the soil.

When you find your first Nirnroot you will receive a quest entitled 'Seeking
out your Roots'. You will be told to seek out an Alchemist to find out what you
can do with these Nirnroots. There are many people you can consult, most Mages
Guild halls have a resident Alchemist and there are Alchemical shops too.
This is a list of Alchemists:-

Imperial City Marketplace: Ogier Georich, at The Main Ingredient.
                          Claudette Perrik, at The Silver Carafe.
              Cheydinhal: Eiloway, at the Mages Guild hall.
                Leyawiin: S'drassa,at the Mages Guild hall
                  Bravil: Ardaline,at the Mages Guild Hall
                   Bruma: Selena Orania, at the Mages Guild hall
                 Chorrol: Angalmo, at the Mages Guild Hall
                   Anvil: Fela Relas,at the Mages Guild hall
                Skingrad: Falanu Hlaalu, at All Things Alchemical
                          Sinderion,in the Basement of the West Weald Inn

You can go and see who you want, but you will be directed to Sinderion at the
West Weald Inn in Skingrad. Sinderion lives in the basement, I have never seen
him outside so I assume he never leaves. The door to the basement has a very
hard lock to pick, but you can never get the opportunity to pick it without
being seen, and therefore without getting a bounty. So if you try to do this at
night you will just have to wait until morning.

Head down the stairs and you will find Sinderion's Alchemical Lab.

Sinderion will  tell you that he bought a musty old Alchemical tome that
contained a recipe for a Elixer of Exploration, 'The Ultimate Dungeon Delver's
brew. This potion requires Nirnroot's.

Sinderion will ask you to give him ant Nirnroots you find, in return he will
give you a free potion and give you a discount on any further one's that you
purchase. If you agree he will give you the 'Nirnroot Missive' and also mark
Shadeleaf Corpse on your map.

The Nirnroot Missive gives you the known history of the Nirnroot,apparently it
is a magical plant that is near extinction, but has evolved and adapted to
changes in the environment. You can find Nirnroots near a body of water, you
can also find them in house's. People have them as pot plants.

Sinderion will require 10 Nirnroots for the first potion, this will create a
Weak Elixer of Exploration which gives you Night-Eye for 300 seconds and
Fortify Health for 300 seconds.

When you have ten Nirnroots head back to Sinderion and talk to him about the
Elixer of Exploration and he will take the ten Nirnroots of you and ask you
return in 24 hours to collect your Elixer.

Sinderion will tell you that he will require twenty Nirnroots for a Moderate
Elixer of Exploration which gives you Night-Eye 300 seconds, Fortify Health for
300 seconds and Fortify Fatigue for 300 seconds.

When you have collected twenty more Nirnroots, return to Sinderion and talk to
him about The Elixer of Exploration and he will take twenty Nirnroots off of
you and ask you to return in 24 hours to receive your Moderate Elixer of
Exploration.

Sinderion will tell you that he requires another thirty Nirnroots to create a
Strong Elixer of Exploration which gives you Night-Eye for 300 seconds, Fortify
Health 20 points for 300 seconds, Fortify Fatigue 20 points for 300 seconds,
Fortify Blade 5 points for 300 seconds, Fortify Blunt 5 points for 300 seconds,
Fortify Destruction 5 points for 300 seconds, Fortify Restoration 5 points for
300 seconds and Fortify Sneak 5 points for 300 seconds.

When you have collected another 30 samples of Nirnroot, return to Sinderion and
talk to him about the Elixer of Exploration and he will take thirty Nirnroots
off of you and ask you to return in 24 hours to collect your Elixer.

Sinderion will tell you that he requires another forty Nirnroot to create the
Grand Elixer of Exploration which gives Fortify Health 20 points for 300
seconds, Fortify Fatigue 20 points for 300 seconds, Night-Eye for 300 seconds,
Fortify Blade 10 points for 300 seconds, Fortify Blunt 10 points for 300
seconds, Fortify destruction 10 points for 300 seconds, Fortify Restoration 300
seconds and Fortify Sneak 10 points for 300 seconds.

Sinderion will ask you to return in 24 hours to collect you Grand Elixer of
Exploration

Sinderion tells you that he cannot make another potion that will be stronger,
but he offers to buy any more Nirnroots that you find off of you.

He will require 10 Nirnroot Samples off of you before he will buy any (will be
updated shortly, as to how much etc.)

These are the locations of the Nirnroots that I have found:-


1.Across the lake, North of the entrance to the Imperial City Sewers, by the
 wooden jetty.
2.Follow the waters edge West from number 1 it is behind a big rock.
3.Keep following the waters edge to the West from number 2. It is directly
 North of the Imperial City Prison. But still across the Lake.
4.Keep following the Waters Edge from number 3, is in the middle of a small
 group of rocks North-West of the Imperial City Prison, across the Lake.
5.Run along the side of the cliff west from number 4, you will find the
 Nirnroot by a group of small rocks North-West of The Elven Gardens District,
 still across the Lake.
6.Underneath the bridge West of number 5 at the start of a small river in the
 North-West of the Imperial Palace, across the Lake
7.Follow the edge of the lake, when it turns South, there is one behind a small
 rock. West of the Imperial City Sewer, across the Lake
8.Keep following the Lake South, the Nirnroot is behind a large rock, West of
 The Elven Garden District, across the Lake.
9.Keep following the Lake South, the Nirnroot is the other side of a wooden
 Jetty. North of the bridge to Chestnut Handy Stables, across the Lake.
10.Keep following the waterline South, The Nirnroot is just a little South of
  Weye in a group of rocks.
11.Keep following the waterline South until you get to the Ayelid ruin of
  Fanacasecul, the Nirnroot is inside the ruins Southernmost wall.
12.After you see the ruins of Fort Virtue,you will see a cylindrical ruin.
  This is a way shrine to Dibella. The Nirnroot is a group of rocks on the
  East side of the way shrine.
13.Keep following the Lake South till it splits of to form a river channel,
  keep going South, past a stone bridge and it is just a little further South
  Behind a large rock.
14.Keep heading South. At the end of this river there is a Nirnroot behind a
  tree, in some grass.
15.Follow the Lake round to the North. The next Nirnroot is a little past Fort
  Roebeck in the middle of a group of rocks.
16.Look at your map. Follow the Lake around until you see a road going to the
  Island in the middle. The Nirnroot is by the bridge that you see.
17.Cross the bridge from number 16 and head Northwards the next Nirnroot is
  South-West of The waterfront, on the Island, behind a rock.
18.Turn South from number 17, keep following the waterline past a stone bridge.
  The next Nirnroot is at the South-Westernmost point of the Island. In the
  middle of a group of rocks and a tree.
19.Follow the waterline North until you come to a stone bridge, cross over and
  continue North. You will see the ruins of Fort Homestead. The next Nirnroot
  is in the inside of the Northern ruin by a wall.
20.Head East past another set of ruins and a stone bridge, the waterline will
  turn to South. The Nirnroot is in the middle of this little bay behind a
  group of rocks.
21.You will see a waterfall ahead of you. Run up the hill Southwards until you
  hit the road keep heading South until you see a small lake and a wooden
  bridge. The next Nirnroot is around the side of the small lake behind a big
  rock.
22.Head carefully down the waterfall and keep following the Lakes waterline
  East and you will see some ruins. There is a Ayelid power well here. The
  Nirnroot is South-West of the well behind some rocks.
23.Keep following the Lake East and you will pass a stone Bridge and a
  Doomstone. The next Nirnroot is a bit past the Doomstone, in the middle of
  a group of rocks.
24.The waterline will start turning towards the South and you will see a bridge
  and a ruined Fort in the distance. The next Nirnroot can be found in the
  middle of a group of rocks right in front of the Fort ruins.
25.North of Bravil, just as the waterline turns to the North-West. The
  Nirnroot is between a group of rocks.
26.Head South past a campsite on the waterline and you will see the next
  Nirnroot in between two rocks.
27.East of Bay Roan stables outside of Bravil, behind a rock on the waterline.
28.West of Bravil Main Entrance outside the wall,by the gate in the river.
29.Keep following the river West of Bravil, the next Nirnroot is due West of
  Castle Bravil over the other side of the river.
30.Cross over the river and head North, there is a little stone bridge West of
  Bravil. The Nirnroot is on the Eastern side.
31.Continue south and you will see a little Island to the East. In the middle
  of this Island is the next Nirnroot, by a rock.
32.Back across the water and head South-East, you will see a ruined wall on the
  other side of the path and the Nirnroot is by a rock by the water.
33.You will see an Ayelid ruin that runs into the sea, to the East of number
  32. The Nirnroot is behind the 3rd wall in the water.
34.Follow the coast North and cross over the wooden bridge. The Nirnroot is
  behind two large rocks on the Northern side of the Island.
35.Cross back over the bridge and head East,the Nirnroot is behind the 2nd set
  of rocks that you see.
36.Head East, the Nirnroot is behind a huge rock, near another rock with a
  white flowered tree beside it.
37.Continue heading East and you will see Fort Irony, the Nirnroot is in front
  of a big rock.On the Western side.
38.The other side of  Fort Irony in front of a big rock.
39.South of Fort Irony, by a group of rocks and a tree. Near the waterline and
  South-West of a wooden bridge.
40.Cross over the wooden bridge from number 39. The Nirnroot is on the West
  side of the destroyed house.
41.Continue going West until you see a wooden and rope bridge. The Nirnroot is
  behind the tree by the road.
42.West of number 41 at the very end of the river between two rocks.
43.Continue round the river and past the wooden and rope bridge. The next rock
  on your right hides a Nirnroot by the waterline.
44.Head South-East around the coast, and you will see a wooden jetty,the
  Nirnroot is at the far end.
45.Follow the coast round to the North-East, just as the waterline turns South-
  East, you will see a group of rocks and a tree. The Nirnroot is behind the
  tree.
46.Head South past Reedstand Cave just before the coast meets the road you will
  see a blue bush. The Nirnroot is beside a tiny rock by the bush.
47.Keep heading South and you will see some stone steps to a way shrine. South-
  West of these steps is a wooden and rope bridge.The Nirnroot is to the right
  of the bridge, behind some rocks.
48.You will see the ruins of a Fort across the sea, and a little Island in the
  middle. the Nirnroot is in the middle of the Island, behind a rock and a
  tree.
49.Same small Island, to the North, behind another rock/tree combination.
50.Cross back over to the Leyawiin side of the sea, and the next Nirnroot is
  behind the first tree that you pass.
51.Contiue South and the next Nirnroot is East of the village of Waters Edge,
  behind a tree on the waterline.
52.Take the road South out of Waters Edge, the Nirnroot is behind the 1st tree
  on the right of the road.
54.South of the White Stallion lodge there is a wooden jetty, with a rowing boat
  tied to it. The Nirnroot is underneath this jetty.
55.Cross the wooden and ropebridge and follow the coastline in a
  clockwise direction, there is a Nirnroot in front of the 1st rock you come
  to. This Nirnrootis quite hidden due to the fact that the ferns are quite
  high.
56.Cross the water to the smaller Island and you will find the Nirnroot behind
  the tree.
57.Follow the coastline round until you get to the walls of Leyawiin, there is
  a Nirnroot outside the walls, near the waterline.
58.Cross over the water and head in an anti-clockwise direction, there is a
  Nirnroot at the end of the wooden jetty.
59.Turn Northwards, there is a Nirnroot the right of the house, by the
  waterline.
60.Head South, there is a barn outside the gates. Opposite the barn there is a
  Nirnroot behind the big rock.
61.Follow the walls of Leyawiin round and the Nirnroot is near the 2nd tree you
  pass.
62.Cross over the river and it is on the other bank.
63.Head round the outside walls,when you turn to go along the South wall, the
  Nirnroot is by a rock.
64.Still on the South wall on the last bit of land there is a Nirnroot in the
  corner by some rocks.
65.Swim round Leyawiin's walls and the next Nirnroot is near the 2nd tree you
  pass.
66.Head South keeping to the waterline, the Nirnroot is near a rock and a tree.
67.Keep heading South the Nirnroot is due South of Forsaken Mine behind a big
  rock.
68.Just after the coastline turns South-West, the Nirnroot is in between two
  rocks.
69.The next set of rocks South-West has a blue bush next to it and a Nirnroot
  behind them.

  Eventually you will have a message come up on the screen telling you that
  you cannot go any further, Swim East and land on the East coast. Follow it
  down until you get the same message, and I will continue from there.

70.Head North-West until you see a little Island on your right. Swim over and
  the next Nirnroot is behind the first group of rocks that you see.
71.Swim back to the mainland and the next Nirnroot is by the 2nd tree that you
  pass.
72.Keep heading North-West until you come to a wooden and rope bridge, cross
  over and the Nirnroot is on the Northern shore behind a rock.
73.Just West of number 72. behind the next rock.
73.Cross back over the bridge and continue North-West and the Nirnroot is in
  front of the first tree you see.
74.Keep following the coastline, when the water starts turning towards the
  North-East the next Nirnroot is behind a big rock.
75.Follow the coast past Tidewater Cave and the next Nirnroot is between two
  rocks. Just before the water turns Northwards.
76.Follow the coast past Leyawiin and you will arrive at the Amelion Family
  Tomb. The next Nirnroot is beside the first tree that you see.
77.Keep heading North and you will see a fire in the distance, there is a
  Nirnroot behind the rock that you see, the rock is a little off the
  waterline.
78.Head North, the next rock that you see,the Nirnroot is to the left.
79.Go towards the ruins of Fort Redman. The Nirnroot is growing inside, under
  the stairs.
80.North of Fort Redman, behind the first rock that you find after the wooden
  bridge.
81.Cross the water to the Island and you will find the Nirnroot in the group of
  rocks and trees.
82.Same Island North-East of number 81 by a group of 4 trees
83.Cross over from the sea due East from number 82 and the Nirnroot will be
  behind the tree on the waterline.
84.Continue Northwards the next Nirnroot is un front of a tree North-East of
  Reedstand Cave.
85.When the waterline turns North-East, the next Nirnroot will be between two
  trees.
86.Past the blue bush from number 85. The Nirnroot is behind a tree.
87.when the coast turns Eastwards you will run into a shipwreck. The Nirnroot
  is the other side of the shipwreck between 2 rocks.
88.The next Nirnroot that I found was right at the end of the river that runs
  South-East. It was behind a tree.
89.Head round the river bend. You will come across an Ayelid ruin called Welke.
  The Nirnroot is behind the Western outer wall.
90.Keep following the river when it bears East, when the Northern coast turns
  South, the Nirnroot is behind a tree.
91.Head East, the Nirnroot is out in the open, exactly over the 'h' in the
  Panther River on your map.
92.Keep going East and you will pass a ruined stone bridge. Past the next tree
  there is a mud path leading up to some rocks. The Nirnroot is behind the
  rocks.

  You will get another message saying that you can go no further, climb down
  the cliff and swim to the other shore.

93.Head for Fort Redwater.The Nirnroot is behind the Fort next to the wall.
94.Follow the river round Northwards. the Nirnroot is at the end of the river
  behind a group of rocks.
95.Head North-East to the cavern tile on your compass. You will see lake, the
  Nirnroot is to the left of the door to Leafrot Cavern, behind the 2nd set of
  rocks.
96.Keep heading South and you will find Redwater Slough. The Nirnroot is round
  the back.
97.Head South and you will see a load of woden steps. The Nirnroot is at the
  bottom of the stairs.
98.Keep going until you see the Ayelid ruin of Wendelbeck. The Nirnroot is
  through the last archway in the right hand corner.
99.Keep foolowing the waterline and you will see the ruins of Fort Gold-Throat
  the Nirnroot is infront of the south wall behind a rock.
100.Follow the coast West and you will come across Black Dog Camp, there are
   some wooden steps and a jetty at the bottom. The Nirnroot is on the jetty
   behind a corner.
101.Follow the river as it turns South, when it starts turning West again, the
   Nirnroot is by a tree and some rocks.

I hope this walkthrough has been of help to you. It is a bit difficult to give
any better directions than I already have so unfortunately I don't think I will
be able to elaborate any further. These are only the ones that I have found
outside I know of a few in the city's, but I will do a clean sweep of the
city's and include these in a city list next time I update.
