Welcome to the guide. This is a guide for Assassin’s Creed 2 Glyphs and puzzles.
In this guide I will tell you the location of all 20 glyph, tell you how to
solve the puzzles that accompany them. Each puzzle you solve unlocks a segment
of video left by subject 16, once all 20 glyphs have been found and all
puzzles solved you will see the full video which will most likely have you
scratching your head… hope you enjoy!

If you need to navigate quickly to a specific section of the guide, you can
use the Table of Contents to assist you. The quick jumps are the small codes
written at the end of each applicable item. Copy them into the ctrl+f function
of your web browser and you can immediately get to where you need to go.

Glyph Locations                                 [2.0]

Throughout the world of AC2 you will find glyphs scattered on landmark
buildings. Each landmark that has a glyph comes up on-screen with a picture of
the building and in the top left corner of the picture there will be a red
diamond with an eye in it, these are the locations with a glyph. There are 20
glyphs in total which has a puzzle attached to it. In this section of the
guide I will tell you the district with glyphs, how many are in the district
and a short description of where to find the glyph. The number next to the
description is the number of the glyph numbered 1 – 20.

The first glyph is brought to your attention during the story, the rest you
can find when you want. The list here is the order I found each glyph but you
can find them in any order you like.

Locations

Florence: San Marco District                    [2.1]

1. On the southern rooftop of La Rosa Colta.
2. On the eastern rooftop at the Ospedale Degli Innocenti
3. On the north side of Santa Croce, lower roof section on left side when
facing the front.

Florence: Santa Maria Novella District          [2.2]

4. Situated between the dome and a bell tower at the northern edge of the
San Lorenzo church.
5. Stand on the roof at the northeast corner of the marcato Vecchio, and then
look down.

6. On the front face of Villa Auditore, top left corner.

7. Inside a covered “tunnel” section on the east side of the Antico Teatro
Romano.

9. Facing the front of the Santa Maria Assunta, go through the archway to
the left of the main entrance.
10. At the top of the Torre del Diavolo.
11. In-between the two towers of the Torri dei Salvucci.

12. Above the courtyard on the west side of San Mercuriale.
13. On the outside of a lighthouse tower (with a viewpoint above) in the far
northeast corner of the map. It north of the building you get the location
note for.

14. Between the dome and bell tower on top of San Giacomo di Rialto.
15. Beneath the east side of the Ponte di Rialto – it’s clearly visible as
you swim under the bridge.
16. On the rooftop just north of the entrance to the main office at Gilda
dei Ladri di Venezi.

17. On the top floor of an open section near the top of the Campanil di San
Marco.
18. On the roof of the Torre dell’Orologio, directly above the clock.

19. On top of the Scuola Grande di San Marco.
20. On the east side of San Pietro di Castello.

Puzzle Solutions                                  [3.0]

Finding all 20 Glyphs is only half the battle: to view Subject 16’s secret
video, you must first solve his puzzle. To activate the puzzle you must be
in front of the glyph and enter eagle vision. Each puzzle type has it’s own
interface, with relevant button commands displayed on-screen. The four most
common varieties warrant a brief introduction.

Observation Puzzles: highlight and select an obscure point of interest on the
displayed photograph or illustration.

Picture Identification Puzzle: challenge you to discover a theme that connects
five pictures out of ten. The pictures are in two rows and I will number them
like so:

Combination lock Puzzle: present a circular picture divided into five rings
with a fixed point at the centre. You must rotate these rings to display the
correct image. The first you encounter are ridiculously simple, but they
become far more complicated when cretin rings are connected to others. My
solutions refer to the innermost ring as Ring 1 and the outermost ring as
Ring 5, with an obvious progression in between.

Password Puzzle: require you to find a cipher key hidden somewhere on the
screen, then use a code wheel to learn a three-digit code.

Note that it doesn’t matter what order you find the Glyphs: you will always
have to solve the puzzles in the same order. Some Glyphs have multiple puzzles;
in this section I will explain how to solve each one.

Before you continue a warning: the solutions I offer are very direct. If
you’re keen to work on the puzzles yourself read no further.

Solutions

1. In the Beginning                                [3.1]

Description: A gentle start: choose the paintings that contain apples
Solution: paintings 3, 5, 6, 7 and 9

2. Sixty-Four Squares                              [3.2]

Description: Rotate the wheels to complete pictures of Queen Elizabeth I,
Napoleon and George Washington.
Solution: These first examples of the combination lock puzzles type are
extremely simple – just start with the inner ring, using the central point as
a “key”, then work your way outwards.

3. Descendants                                     [3.3]

Description: Locate a Piece of Eden in three pictures.
Solution: The first is on the left edge of Roosevelt’s desk; the second is
just below Houdini (on the right-hand side of the water tank), and the third
on top of Gandhi’s walking stick (left hand side of his body).

4. Infinite Knowledge                              [3.4]

Description: -
Solution: First, locate a hidden image in three pictures. With the burning
Veit Cong Base Camp, it’s in the barrel of the weapon carried by the soldier
on the far side; in the second picture, it’s the helmet of the crouching
soldier on the far side of the street; for the third, it’s on a bayonet in the
centre. For the final picture, select the apple held by a figure near the top
right hand corner.

5. Instruments of Power                             [3.5]

Puzzle #1
Description: Pick the pictures where figures are carrying swords.
Solution: 2, 3, 6, 8 and 9

Puzzle #2
Description: Choose the five paintings where a person is carrying a staff.
Solution: 3, 6, 8, 9 and10

6. Brothers                                          [3.6]

Description: Picture #1
Solution: - Move Ring 1 two notches left.
- Move Ring 2 three notches left.
- Move Ring 4 (linked to Ring 3) one notch right.
- Move Ring 5 (linked to Ring 4) three notches right.
- Move Ring 3 to complete the puzzle.

Solution: - Rotate Ring 1 three to the left.

Description: You need to pick four pictures that contain red cloth, and a
fifth where a snake is entwined around a tree beside a golden fleece.
Solution: 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6

Puzzle #2
Description: -
Solution: Select the “shroud” Piece of Eden to the right of Jesus.

8. Martyrs                                         [3.8]

Description: -
Solution: Select the staff in the first picture, then the sword in the second.
Let the sound effect guide you to precise positions. On the final screen,
move the pointer into the flame and carry it to Joan of Arc, then combine the
final two images.

9. Hat Trick                                       [3.9]

Description: -
Solution: Select the Piece of Eden on Houdini’s body and on Gandhi’s chest by
following the heartbeat signal. At the password puzzle, the solution is “312”

10. Apollo                                         [3.10]

Description: Puzzle #1
Solution: Select the hidden lunar lander near the bottom of the screen, just
to the left of the moon.

Description: Puzzle #2
Solution: - Rotate Ring 5 (linked to Ring 1) six to the left.
- Rotate Ring 2 (linked to Ring 4) four to the left.
- Rotate Ring 4 (linked to Ring 3) three to the right.
- Rotate Ring 3 (linked to Ring 1) five to the left
- Rotate Ring 1 to complete.

Description: Puzzle #3
Solution: The Piece of Eden is located in the shadow to the left of the
astronaut.

11. The Inventor                                   [3.11]

Description: Puzzle #1
Solution: Before you can begin the puzzle, move the pointer into each light
bulb to continue. Now select the hidden picture directly above the main door,
between the small windows.

Solution: The Piece of Eden is on Tesla’s lap.

12. Titans of Industry                             [3.12]

Description: Puzzle #1
Solution: The password is “240”. Afterwards, move the pointer over each light
bulb (as you did at the start of the Inventor) to continue.

Solution: The Piece of Eden is clearly visible in the middle of the image.

Description: Puzzle #1
Solution: The password is 1 = two lines and a dot, 3 = three lines, 9 = one
line and two dots.

13. “I Am Become Death, the Destroyer of Worlds”   [3.13]

Description: Puzzle #1
Solution: The solution is: 5 = circle square square, 2 = circle, 9 = triangle.

Solution: Press the button.

Solution: Use the sound effect as a cue to locate the code at the bottom of
the screen.

14. Bloodlines                                     [3.14]

Description: Select the pictures that depict both a god and a mortal in the
same scene.
Solution: 1, 4, 6, 7 and 10

15. Guardians                                      [3.15]

Description: This is a tricky combination lock. After you complete it,
highlight the red markers on the following screen to complete.
Solution: - Rotate Ring 5 (linked to Ring 2) five to the right.
- Rotate Ring 3 (linked to Ring 4) two to the right.
- Rotate Ring 4 (linked to Ring 1) five to the right.
- Rotate Ring 2 five to the left.
- Rotate Ring 1 (linked to ring 5) one to the left.

16. The Cavalry                                    [3.16]

Description: -
Solution: Carefully move the cursor to select Alaska without touching any
other names, then direct the pointer to Tunguska at the top of the screen.
Collect the staff, then move it onto Telsa’s picture.

17. The Bunker                                      [3.17]

Description: Puzzle #1 (Will do my best to describe the symbols)
Solution: 7 = a slightly off square with a line from the centre to the top
left corner, 9 = two triangles facing each other missing there points, 1 = A
diamond with a smaller one inside it.

Description: Puzzle #2
Solution: Select the Assassin’s Brotherhood logo. It’s just below the roof of
the building in the top right-hand corner of the image.

18. Synapses                                        [3.18]

Description: - (Once again will do my best to describe)
Solution: Enter the password revealed here, then move the cursor over each
“synapses” on the screen that follows.

6 = three glasses, 0 = one arrow, six small glasses stacked and one big glass
at bottom of six
3 = three arrows and one glass.

*NOTE* When I say glass I’m talking about the upside down triangle with the
line down from the point. And the an arrow is the arrow looking thing pointing
to the left.

19. The Fourth Day                                   [3.19]

Description: Select the pictures that contain depictions of the sun, then
scour the surface of the sun to find the Earth.
Solution: 2, 3, 5, 8, and 9

20. The Origin of the Species                        [3.20]

Description: Puzzle #1
Solution: - Rotate Ring 5 (linked to Ring 3) two to the left.
- Rotate Ring 4 two to the left.
- Rotate Ring 3 (linked to Ring 1) two to the right.
- Rotate Ring 2 five to the right.
- Rotate Ring 1 (linked to Ring 5) three to the left.

Description: Puzzle #2
Solution: Use the sound effect as a cue to locate the icon of the Vitruvian
Man at the top of the screen.

Description: Puzzle #3
Solution: Notice the phrase: “Nothing is true, everything is permitted.”
Therefore, all possible choices in the cipher keypad are correct: simply
select any three glyph symbols. Finally move the pointer over all of the
skeleton bones.

Well that’s it for my first ever guide hope it helps all you people out there
having problems with those pesky puzzles I know a few of them really had me
for a while. Currently working on a guide for feather locations but that’s
proving rather complicated because there not all next to or on landmarks so
