                                INTRODUCTION
===============================================================================

Hello and welcome to the Plaque Attack FAQ. This handy text document will tell
you how to play this game, the scoring system, and hints and tips. I am playing
this game from the Activision Anthology on the PlayStation 2, and I am hoping
that the version that I am using is the same as the normal one that was
released.

===============================================================================
                              2. GAME OVERVIEW
===============================================================================

This section is just a look over all things in the game, such as how to play
it, the scoring system and controls.

Game Types
----------

There are four game types available -

Game 1 - One Player, Advanced.
Game 2 - Two Player, Advanced.
Game 3 - One Player, Beginner.
Game 4 - Two Player, Beginner.

The differences between the Beginner and Advanced modes is that the rate of
difficulty and scoring increases; it is slower on Beginner and faster on
Advanced. Two player is played in turns, wave by wave - Blue is player 1, and
Green is player 2.

Controls
--------

Joystick                                 - Move Toothpaste Tube

Fire Button                              - Fire Toothpaste

Note that when you are pressing Up or Down on the Joystick that it will face
that direction (so you cannot move upward and fire downward at the same time).

Playing the Game
----------------

The aim of the game is to destroy all the oncoming junk food and protect the
teeth. You control a tube of toothpaste, and you must fire toothpaste at the
food. When a piece of food makes contact with a tooth, it will go yellow and
disappear. You can save the tooth if you are quick enough by shooting the
attacking food. After shooting the food, the wave will reverse direction.

The food will come in waves; first Burgers, then Hotdogs, French Fries,
Strawberries, Berries, Doughnuts, Candy Canes, then Ice Cream Cones. After
the these eight waves, the whole process repeats and the food comes faster,
and in more of a hectic pattern (however the scoring will increase). Once food
reaches the gum, it will appear on the other side. You will get 35 seconds to
destroy each wave, at which point the tube of tooth paste will disappear. You
have unlimited toothpaste, so be sure to go crazy with the shooting to blast
away all the food! When the wave of food is all gone, the scoring process
begins for that wave.

You initially start with 8 teeth, and there are room for more if you manage to
keep these intact. You can get extra teeth each time you score 2000 points.
If you get an extra tooth, it will be implemented on the next wave. Remember
that if all your teeth disappear and you have a bonus tooth coming, the next
wave will play and the tooth will appear because of it.

Scoring
-------

You gain points each time you shoot food, and also at the end of the wave when
the time and teeth remaining are added up. The scoring is different according
to the wave that you are on (and the difficulty), and is shown in the following
chart -

 +-------------------+-------------+------------------+-----------------+
 |       Wave        | Points per  |    Points per    |   Points per    |
 |                   |    Food     | Remaining Second | Remaining Tooth |
 +-------------------+-------------+------------------+-----------------+
 | 1. Burger         |     5       |        5         |       5         |
 | 2. Hotdog         |     10      |        10        |       20        |
 | 3. French Fries   |     15      |        15        |       45        |
 | 4. Strawberry     |     20      |        20        |       60        |
 | 5. Berry          |     25      |        25        |       125       |
 | 6. Doughnut       |     30      |        30        |       150       |
 | 7. Candy Cane     |     35      |        35        |       175       |
 | 8. Ice Cream Cone |     40      |        40        |       200       |
 +-------------------+-------------+------------------+-----------------+

Example - You just completed Wave 4, with 5 seconds remaining (100 points) and
8 teeth remaining (480 points) giving you 580 bonus points. Got it?

The game will end if all the teeth are gone, you have no bonus teeth and all
your toothpaste has been depleted.

===============================================================================
                             3. HINTS AND TIPS
===============================================================================

• You have unlimited toothpaste, so don't be afraid to go crazy!
• Remember that you can save a tooth if it is under attack by shooting the
 food before the tooth disappears. However this is much harder the longer you
 go on as the decaying process is much quicker. And after, remember that...
• The wave always reverses direction after one has attacked a tooth. So take
 care of the tooth, then switch direction and continue blasting away.
• The toothpaste can be controlled after firing as it will be in line with the
 tube. Remember this if you have shot and missed initially so you can
 correct your shot.
• The tube of toothpaste itself is not affected by the food, so don't be
 afraid to enter the fray!
• When you begin, as the food comes in rows, sweep along the front of them,
 shooting as you go. In later waves the food pattern gets more hectic, so try
 and memorize their patterns.
• When you begin play offensively as you have more teeth and the waves are more
 tame. Later on, when the action heats up and you start loosing teeth, play
 more defensively to keep the few teeth you have.
• In later waves, only go after the food that is heading toward teeth and
 ignore the ones that drift off to the sides. This means that you can defend
 the teeth better.
• Most of all, PRACTICE!!
