1. Game overview
SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters 2 Expand Edition, which we will now refer to
as CFC2, is the sequel to the quite popular SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters
Clash which was released in 1999 by SNK. The game's principle is very
similar to Magic The Gathering, where two players compete with each
their own, carefully prepared, card decks. The winner of the match
gets some of his opponent's deck cards.
SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters Clash was released in 4 versions. Japan got
a Capcom and a SNK version, both entirely in Japanese (no English option),
while the US got a Capcom and a SNK version too, but fully translated into
English. The two cartdriges are essentially the same, the differences
being minor, color of the background, characters impersonated and
exclusive cards (some cards could only be won on the Capcom version,
and some only on the SNK one).
CFC2 though, has only got one version, entirely written in Japanese, and
no English version is planned, ever. The differences between CFC2 and
the original games are numerous:
- 124 additional cards
- New Reaction Cards (there were only Character and Ability cards in CFC)
- All the character cards from CFC1 have been redrawn, usually for the best
- Game has been balanced from the first version
- New slick interface and extra animations during card battles
- Connectible with Capcom vs SNK 2 for Dreamcast
SNK vs Capcom: Card Fighters 2 Expand Edition
For NeoGeo Pocket Color, published by SNK
Released on September 13th 2001 for Y4500
Japan orders made through SNK's site (
http://www.neogeo.co.jp) got
a collector phone calling card along with the game.

2. FAQ Introduction
This FAQ is aiming at the few occidental players of CFC2, we will do our
best to make it as exhausitve as possible, but if you know something that
we did not mention, even the slightest detail, please contact us so that
we can add your accredited contribution to this FAQ.
If we work together, this could definitely become a document of reference.
This work started as the merging of Z-Force's and The Lemming's CFC2 FAQ.

3. Game Basics
A CF match has 2 opponents facing each other, each with their own card
deck. Each player has both HP (hit points, life), and SP (special points,
ability) points. The number of HPs with which you start a match depends
on the match you are playing. Normal matches start at 2000 HP,
while tournament matches often start at 3000 HP*.
The goal of the game is to knock your opponent down to zero HP. This
is more complex than it sounds, but first we'll look at basic mechanics.
The game is played by turn, at each turn a player can put down one
card and use as many card abilities (which consume SP) they want. At the
end of your turn you can attack your opponent with card(s) that you
have put down, but you can not put down and attack with the same card
in one single turn.
*In VS mode (2 NGPCs and a link cable) you can set the number of HP with
which every player starts. There is also a 'autobalance' option which
analyzes the players' decks and set the HP accordingly (the better the
deck, the less HP)
-- Note: Most of this section was ripped off of Z-Force's --
-- original Card Fighters Clash FAQ, except for the Reaction --
-- cards section --
a. Your turn
1. Cancel freeze phase: Any characters of yours that are in freeze
phase (see below) will be put back into regular phase.
2. Draw a card: You must draw a card from your deck. If you don't
have anymore cards to draw, you lose the match.
3. Main Phase: You can do any of these things during your turn, in
any order
i. Put a character in play: You can bring one player out during this
turn, unless you already have 3 in play. Characters just put out
cannot attack, or use their abilities on their first turn. You gain
the SP listed on the card when you play it. Cards with a triangle
ability use their ability ONLY at the moment they are put down.
ii. Play a character for Back-up: You can play a back-up character if
you have one. You may play a character into the ring and play a
backup character on the same turn.
iii. Use Action Cards: You may use as many Action Cards as you want, as
long as you have the SP to play them.
iv. Use an ability: If you have a character with an SQUARE ability, you
may use it, however, it uses up SP and also freezes your character.
4. You may attack with one or more of your characters. Attacking puts
the character in freeze phase. More info on attacking in the strategies
section.
5. After attacking, it is up to your opponent to play.
b. Commands Translations
For those familiar with CFC1, there are no big differences in CFC2.
On your turn you will be presented with a 6 choices menu on the lower
part of your screen
+-----------+
888 X X X
888
888 X X X
+-----------+
(1) (2) (3)
(4) (5) (6)
+-----------+
(1)Hand: Play a card from your hand. You may either look at the card
or play it. Both Action and Character cards are brought out
in this way.
By pressing the OPTION button you can sort the cards in your
hand by No, BP, SP, Ability, and Rarity. This sorting also
works in the Card Album menus.
(2)Search: Check out cards in play. You may look at cards in the ring,
or also cards discarded by you and your opponent, and also
the number of cards in you and your opponent's hand and/or
piles.
(3) Info: A help screen if you will. Shows the definition of any of
the terms you want.
(4)Attack: Attack with one or more cards. This ends your turn and puts
any characters who attack in freeze phase.
(5)Ability:Use the SQUARE ability of one of your characters. This puts
your character in freeze phase
(6)End: Ends your turn.
By pression the OPTION button while in this menu, you can choose which
battle animation ("Battle Anime") you desire. The left option is for
lengthy full screen card fights, while the option on the right is for
onboard, small card battles (in case you're in a hurry).
c. Abilities
You have 3 kinds of abilities, they are as follows.
SQUARE ability
These abilities have to be selected to be used. They put the character
in a freeze phase and also use up your SP in many cases.
(Example: Ryu)
TRIANGLE ability
These abilities are used as soon as the character is brought into play.
(Example: Leona)
CIRCLE ability
These abilities are used as long as the character is in play.
(Example: Ken)
d. Backing up
You may play certain cards on anyone character to back them up. This
eliminates the character cards used to assist, but increases the character
being backed up by 300 BP. This is useful in certain situations.
Some things to keep in mind: The character receiving backup does not
enter the freeze phase and can still be used to attack that turn.
Also, you do not gain SP when backing up.
Characters that have a ? listed as one of their backups can be backed up
with a specific character from the other company (example: an SNK character
with 2 ? can be backed up by 2 Capcom characters)
New to CFC2, in the statistics screen there is a percentage counter which
allows you to keep track of how many backups you have made, out of the
804 possible backups.
When trying to find new backups, you can show Zet a card once you've
cleared the game. He will hint you (in Japanese) about the connection
between the different backups. For example if you show him John Crawley
(S026) Zet will tell you "something related with planes", so a good guess
would be Guille/Nash or eventually Falcon. Of course he hints you on the
opposite company's corresponding backups (for John which is a SNK card,
he hinted you for the Capcom cards)
e. Getting cards
You get some cards after beating each opponent. Also, after you beat the
first 4 opponents, you unlock a trading machine (VS Net). You can trade
3 cards of the same rarity to get another card of better rarity.
f. Action Cards
Action cards can be used during your turn. Once they are used, they
are discarded from your hand. You can use as many action cards as
you want in one turn, as long as you have enough SPs to use them.
Their effects are diverse, from card withdrawal to directly removing
your opponent's HPs
g. Reaction Cards
Reaction cards are a new feature to CFC2. Basically, they are a different
type of action card that is played when the opponent is attacking. They
consume SP, and will have different effects to help defend against the
coming onslaught. Effects of various reaction Cards are described in the
Cards Section
h. Character Cards
The most common type of cards, they are the cards that can be put down
on the playing field, and that can battle each other. They represent
SNK or Capcom characters. Some characters have multiple cards (Ryu has
at least 2 differents cards), and some also have abilities (SQUARE [],
CIRCLE (), or TRIANGLE /\). You can also use them to back up.

4. In game translations & interface
a. Menus
Unlike CFC1 where your main interface was through a pop up menu on the
world map, CFC2 features a main menu from which you can choose your
game mode. As you play through the game, some menu options become
available.
You can see in which menu you are by simply looking at the thin blue,
screen-wide bar at the top of your screen.

5. Story and flow
a. Starting a New Game
If you are starting a new game from a cart that has already been played,
you will be asked to confirm erasing the previous game (a cart can hold
only one game at a time). To confirm, choose the left option twice.
Note: when given these yes or no choices, yes is always on the left.
Upon starting a new game, you will see Neo Mantle laughing, as he prepares
his card-stealing assault on the CF high school. You will then be taken
in front of the school, to talk with Haruna, then to your teacher (Lip)'s
office where Haruna will offer you a starter deck. It's up to you to choose
which.
SNK starter contains:
1x Mai 2x Alfred 2x Lee Pailong 2x Galford
2x Tam Tam 2x Cham Cham 2x Basara 2x Ralf
2x Clark 2x Asamiya Athena 2x Chin Gensai 2x Shingo

2x Arthur
1x Lightning 1x Cover Fire 1x Bopper 1x Raw Shield
1x Best Shot 1x Awakening
2x Robot Punch 2x Vacation
Haruna will then show you the 'How to Play' screen, and will test your
newly acquired deck with a VS match. If you win this first match you will
be treated with a B rarity card.
If you chose the SNK deck, you will get a Terry card.
If you chose the Capcom one, you will get a Sagat card.
You can move along the road in Story mode, you will unlock the places
as you play, as they are not all accessible right from the start. You
will know about important battles that will unlock places because of
the flashing "Battle Point" text above the places in question.
When you have no "Battle Point" text flashing, you will have to look
for someone to talk to (go through all the places you already visited).
You can exit Story mode by pressing the OPTION button, which will pop
up the Statistics screen and give you the following choices:
- Card Menu - Save
- Main Menu (will ask you to save)

c. Walkthrough
The game is very straightforward. Go to a place, beat the character that
is there, then head for another place. Beating a character will allow you
to challenge him in Free Battle mode (from the main menu, 2nd option, then
first option). Check the Free Battle section for more information.
Locations
Each location is a different battle point where you take on an opponent.
Some locations have multiple areas where you can go. Once you've beaten
a battle point, you can go back there and take on the opponent again to
win more cards.
The map is displayed in isometric 3D:
1 + -----2---+
/ / /
+-----+ / 1)
3 / 2) VS Corp
/ +---6 3) CF School
4-----+-+----+ / 4) MV Land
/ / 5) Joyful Fountain
+-5 +-7 6) Lost Church
/ 7) Powered Lab
/ 8) Vanguard
+----+----+ 9) Lost World
/ / 10) Joy Joy shop
9-+ +-8
+-10
You start off at the CF School (3), where you will battle Haruna, you
will be then taken to the school menu, where you will be able to fight
Lip, your CF teacher, by selecting the top right option in the school
menu. You can battle Lip also after beating Fuwa.
You can then leave the school and head to the Joyful Fountain (5) where
you will battle Fuwa, the ninja. Then you can head to the Joy Joy shop
(10) where your brother Kido, the shop's manager, is waiting for you.
Beating him will unlock the VS Net option in the game's main menu.
After that, you can go back to the CF school (3) and select the bottom
left choice in the menu ('go to the roof') where you will battle the
three CF school rebel-style students, Dogou the mad scientist, Aso the
arrogant girl, then Torawo the pirate looking rebel student.
Next opponent waiting is Shin at the Vanguard(8). After beating him
you can then head back to Lip's office (top right option in the CF
school menu) and talk to her. Then go to the Lost World (9) to battle
Foru. Head back to the Vanguard (8) to battle Kei. Then go talk
to the rebels on the roof of CF school, they will warn you that
Neo Mantle, waiting for you at the Joyful Fountain (5). He has the
very same deck you have.
Once you beat him, go to the CF school (3) class (upper right option).
Haruna will present you Yashichi, which you will have to battle against.
Once you beat her, go to the Joyful Fountain where you will be
automatically taken to all the places you've already visited
(Lip's office, CF School roof, Joy joy shop, The Lost World,
Vanguard then you'll be taken to the church where you'll meet Comet.
the MV Land (4) will be unlocked, go there, you will have a chat,
then you'll be off to fight Nanako at the Powered Lab (7).
Once you beat Nanako (which should have been a tough fight if you didn't
do many battles to upgrade your deck), head to VS Corp, then to
Lip's class at CF school. Lip and Haruna will present you with a transfer
student, Zet C. Detroit, with whom you will have a card fight (he's a
3000 HP opponent, but he has a weak deck). Once you beat him, heat
to the CP boat (1) (where you will be greeted with a text that reads
"I'm Not Boy" in katakana ;)
Haruna will show you a Tabatha card, then you will have to battle Cap
(his last name is 'Com' ;). Neomant will make an appearance and you will
learn the Neomant is in fact Robomant, created by the VS Corp.
Go to Lip's class at CF school to have a chat with your teacher then go
to the Lost church to talk to Comet, she will give you the Tabatha card
she showed you earlier. Once this is done, go to the VS Corp to chat
and battle Neomant. Ince you beat him you will be given two choices,
the left one is "Go to the Duel Room", the other is "go back to the
world map". If you go back to the map, you can always go to the Duel
Room later on. In the Duel Room you will meet G Lady, and see Robomant's
true, cyborg form. G Lady will then give you a Kyo card (if you chose
the SNK deck at the start of the game) or a Ryu card (if you chose a
Capcom deck when you started).
You will then be taken to the map. Set up your deck for the final
battle, and head to the Duel Room one more time to fight Robomant
in his true form. Once you beat him you will be given a choice
wether to leave the Duel Room to prepare (left option), or to continue
(right option). If you leave, you will not lose anything and be able
to continue the game in the Duel Room as if you never left it. Thus,
continuing will lead you to the game's final boss, Sys (last name is 'Tem')
Beat him, and you will have completed the game.
WARNING: Beating Sys toughens the Free Battle mode. After beating
the game, ALL the characters in Free Battle mode will have
3000 HP, and much better decks, making backuping and
obtaining the unique (S) cards a lot tougher.
Fortunately, you will be able to battle the previous,
easier versions of the characters in Story mode, by going
to the places where you first met them.
Beating the game also tells you what kind of cards the
characters give you when you beat them in Free Battle mode:
Haruna -> All SNK
Lip -> Character cards
Zet -> Samurai Spirits cards
Torawo -> AC/RE Cards
Aso -> RE Cards 3
Dogou -> AC Cards 3
Fuwa -> Gekka (Last Blade) Cards
Yashichi-> Capcom other 2D
Kido -> Ryuko (The Art of Fighting) etc
Foru -> All Capcom
Nanako -> Capcom other 3D
Shin -> Garou (Garou densetsu/Fatal Fury) Cards
Kei -> KoF (The King of Fighters) Cards
Cap -> Justice (Justice Gakuen/Rival Schools) Cards
Comet -> Vampire (Darkstalkers) Cards
Sys -> SF 1.2.3. (Street Fighters) Cards
Finishing the game also changes the following things:
- DC Connection is now available under the VS.Net menu
- The card shop starts to run a bargain sale. You can get various cards
for a decent value. I got an A-rarity Ryu card and only had to trade
3 C-rarities for it. Check the Secrets & Nifty things section.
- An extra mode is unlocked if you speak to the girl with glasses. It
is accessible in Vs.net under the main menu. No idea what it's for,
though. Something about 'ESP'. Maybe you need ESP Action card?
- In the main classroom of the school, the male student there now has
another choice. If you choose that new option, the student will hint
you about some backups:
If you choose Joe, he says "Muay Thai"
If you choose Mai or Chun Li, he says "Heroine"
If you choose Ruby Heart, he says "kaizoku" (pirate)
If you choose Carol, he says "Ball"
(this list is incomplete)
- In the principal's office, you'll find the female Neomant and can
battle with her. You do not use your own deck for this battle, however.
- You will be able to fight G.Lady if you go to Lip's office.
You can then face her again by holding the OPTION button while
selecting Lip in Free Battle Mode.
d. Free Battle
You can enter Free Battle mode by choosing Battle (second option in the
main menu), then Free Battle (first option of the Battle menu).
Free Battle allows you to quickly have a card fight with any of the
characters you have already met, and won against, in Story mode.
You will have to beat the opponents a variable number of times before
each give you a unique (S) card, which can only be obtained against
them in Free Battle mode.
Characters with 2000BP have to be beaten 20 times for them to give you
their (S) card, and 3000BP characters must be beaten 30 times.
The table is as follows:
Haruna :2000HP: Akari(T) Kido :2000HP: Terry (T)
Lip :2000HP: Nakoruru (S) Foru :2000HP: Chun Li (D)
Zet :3000HP: Geese (H) Nanako :3000HP: Roll (M)
Torawo :2000HP: Rock (M) Shin :3000HP: Ryo (H)
Aso :2000HP: Shiki (S) Kei :3000HP: Kyo(T)
Dogou :2000HP: Jill (M) Cap :3000HP: Ryo (H)
Fuwa :2000HP: Cammy (D) Comet :3000HP: Morrigan(D)
Yashichi:3000HP: Rimururu (S) Sys :3000HP: Ryu (U)

6. Strategies
a. Attacking
There is a lot of strategy involved in attacking. The basis of attacking
is as follows. You select a character to attack. The opponent may either
choose a character to counter, look at cards in the ring, or choose to take
the attack. If another character chooses to counter, a battle ensues. Both
characters do their remaining BP in damage to the other character. If
either character is reduced to 0 BP, they are knocked out. However, the
player themselves doesn't take any damage if they allow a counter attack to
take place. Also, there are special ways to attack as follow:
Multiple attack: You can have as many characters attack as there are in
the ring. The good thing about this is that each character must be
defended against, and anyone who is not counter-attacked will damage the
opponent directly. The bad news is that all characters attacking will be
put into freeze phase. You can have all of your characters attack, but
they will all be in freeze phase, leaving you a sitting duck for the
opponent's counterattack... Unless... you take out all of the opponent's
characters in the process.
Union Attack: You may have multiple character do a union attack by using up
SP. You can do a 2 character attack for 5SP or a 3 character attack with
10SP. The advantage to doing a Union Attack is that only one character can
defend against it. Any excess damage is transferred to the opponent. In
other words, if you attack with 1000 BP worth of attackers and your
opponent counters with a 300 BP defender, that defender will be KO'ed and
the opponent will suffer from 700 HP of damage. When doing a Union attack,
characters with an O ability (such as Heidern) cannot use their powers.)
Also, don't forget to read the card comments in the Cards list section, as
they sometime provide some nifty strategies.
b. Defending
When defending, you have the option to either choose defenders or take the
attack(s) When countering, your character saves you from damage, but may be
KO'ed themselves. If the opponent uses more than one attacker, you have to
use on defender for each character if you wish to block. If you wish to
counter a joint attack, you can only choose one defender to block the whole
array. Strategy: Know when to defend and when to just take the damage. For
example, if the opponent attacks with a 100BP attacker, just take the damage
(unless it would kill you of course) This way, the near useless attacker is
left sitting on the bench and they can defend your upcoming onslaught.
My best strategy to go by is if you can do a bigger attack to the opponent
by NOT countering your opponent and can still stand up to the attack, then
don't defend. The opponents will be left helpless to defend against your
upcoming onslaught.
c. CPU AI
The key to collecting with ease in CFC has always been understanding the
CPU's way of thinking, and CFC2 is no different. So in case you haven't
figured out how the CPU thinks yet, hopefully this will help.
-The CPU will almost always counter an attacking card with high BP. It will
usually NOT counter an attacking card with low BP, unless it is either low
on HP (below 1000, I think) or has character cards with even lower BP than
the attacking card. This applies to Union Attacks as well.
-When attacking a lone CPU card with two or three single characters, the
CPU will always counter the character with higher BP. If two or three of
the highest attacking characters have the same BP, the CPU will counter
the card that has a O or [] ability.
-When attacking with a Union Attack and a single character on a CPU with
only one active character card, the CPU will only counter the Union Attack
if its character's BP is greater than that of the single character, and
the Union is stronger than the single character.
That's the basics. There are some small exceptions here and there, but
this is generally what the CPU does
d. Enemy decks
Knowing what your enemy's deck contains is knowing what to expect. The
characters have the same deck in Story and Free Battle modes, until you
beat the game. Once you beat Sys in story mode, all the Free Battle
decks are greatly upgraded.
The decks are taken from the official CFC2 website at www.neogeo.co.jp.

This character is special because she has 4 different decks. Which
set of 2 decks she will use (in either Story or Free Battle)
depends on your deck selection at the start of the game.

G.Lady: Her deck is randomly made up of 36 characters cards (no D rarity
------ character cards though), 8 Action cards and 6 Reaction cards.
Thing is, you will also be given a random deck with 36 character
cards, 8 action and 6 reaction cards to play her (this is, of
course, temporary)
e. Making good decks
First some basics. There are 3 major groups of cards I will refer to here.
The Triad: Akuma, Yashiro, Yamazaki - These were basically the 3 most
powerful cards in the game in CFC1, and 99% of decks were based
around these guys. They have a diminished role in CFC2, but are
still quite powerful.
The Four Fatties: Geese, Krauser, Mech Zangief, Zero Gouki - The four
highest BP cards in the game. Also toned down in this
game, because of the penalty you have to suffer for
bringing them into play.
The Stall Sisters: Regina and Yuki - These cards are used to keep the enemy
from playing high BP cards and messing you over. Best
used in a defensive or stall deck.
These are cards that can be useful in any deck. They have less than 800 BP,
which keeps them from being victimized by defensive decks. They all have
useful special powers as well.
Shermie: Excellent card for Defense
Haggar: Cleanup card
Akari (P): Another cleanup card
Sougetsu: Useful to stall the opponent, since they won't get a card
next turn
Morrigan: I shouldn't need to explain this one
Rock Howard: Useful special power does heavy damage if the enemy has lots
of cards
Yashiro: Another no brainer
Nakoruru(C): This one gives you some great healing, and has good stats
BB Hood: Hit and run, use her to take out an enemy's big card
Billy: Check out the enemy's hand, plus toss an AC card
Evil Ryu: KO's a frozen enemy card
Saki: Allows you to bring out anything you need
Joe: The ultimate card for trying to deck your enemy
Guile: Useful to prevent damage from guys like Akuma and Yashiro
Ken: Can't be frozen after attacking
Strider Hiryu: Cut down enemy's backups
Twelve: Great for Defense
These are the best overall AC cards. They fit well into just about any type
of deck
Showtime
Grenade
Lucky Kitty
Stifler
Tri Quiz : If you can get 3 of this card, you can toss your extra Grenades,
Showtimes, and Graces, to create more room for other stuff
Makeover : Best card for getting rid of a hand of junk you can't use
Psyche Up : Free SP
School's Out/Slaughter : Useful to clean up if you're in a tight situation
Management : Good to bring the AC card you most need
Laundry
These are useful Reaction cards for any deck
Robot Punch/Vacation : You get a couple of these from the start, and they
can serve you well throughout the game
Choukadan : Potentially the most deadly counter there is, especially in
a power deck
Cruel Hunting - Useful if you're worried about enemy's massive cards
Either of the two healing cards
Overheat
Note: You want to make sure you have a good mix of character cards with
other types of cards. If you put in too many RE or AC cards, you
might not draw characters when you need em. I recommend about 30-35
character cards, and the rest being AC and RE cards as suited to your
playing style.
Now with that out of the way, let's get into specific deck strategies
Deck Type #1 - The Balanced Deck==============================================
Theme: This deck will have a wide variety of cards, and be able to deal
with most threats. Doesn't rely heavily on one card or power
Strengths: You have a wide variety of characters and can deal with lots of
various threats. Your opponent will not be able to focus on
countering a specific strategy.
Weaknesses: You may not always get the cards you need when you need them
Key Cards: None really. You will want to have a wide variety of character
cards from the above list, either one or two of them depending on
your taste. You will also want to have an assortment of bruiser
cards, with high BP, so you can destroy the enemies quickly. Try
to stay away from the four fatties in this case, use high BP
cards with beneficial powers such as Terry, Ryu, and Kyo. You
can put pretty much any AC or RE cards you like in here to
compliment your playing style. If you want to add some defensive
flair to your deck, add a Yuki and or Regina. Also, Terry B
suits this deck well for taking out high powered enemy cards.
==============================================================================
Deck Type #2 - Bruiser Deck===================================================
Theme: This deck relies heavily on high powered cards, and is designed to
take the enemy down ASAP. Useful for 1st time Free Battle/Story mode
battles.
Laughs at: Any deck without Regina or Yuki
Fears: Regina and Yuki. To a lesser extent, Wild Iori and Terry B
Key Cards: The Triad (Akuma, Yashiro, Yamazaki) Any high powered cards you
can throw together (anything with 1000 BP or more is prime)
Strategy: This is based on the super killer decks that were dominant in
CFC1, where you could kill pretty much anyone by putting in 3
Akumas, 3 Yashiros, 3 Yamazakis, and whatever high powered BP
cards you had. This type of deck is still effective, but you
now have several things to be wary of.
1. The Triad is toned down quite a bit in this game. As a result of
this, you may want to add in some AC cards that have the same effect
to take an enemy card out of play (Reparation, Puppet, and Double KO)
2. The Four Fatties were also toned down in that you now have to pay a
penalty to bring them into play. As such, you might not want to
load your deck up with these guys.
3. Regina and Yuki can stop high powered cards all together. In CFC1,
all you had to worry about when playing high BP cards was Wild Iori,
and a person couldn't put enough Wild Iori's into their deck to stop
ALL the high cards. With Regina and Yuki, those cards can be totally
wiped out and taken out of consideration.
You want to try to get into an advantageous position to the point where
you can get in free shots with one of your cards. Of course, you now have
the added danger of Reaction cards, which can mess you over.
Variations: You can replace about a third to one half of your high
powered BP cards with ones from the general list above. This way you have
characters to bring out if the enemy plays Yuki or Regina
==============================================================================
Deck Type #3 - Backup Deck====================================================
Theme: Build up powerful characters by utilizing backups
Strengths: Most of the cards here start out under 800 BP, so can be
played with Yuki out on the board. You can build some VERY
powerful guys if this deck is used right
Weaknesses: It takes time to build guys up through backupping. Also be
careful of cards that eliminate someone from play (taking all
their backups with them) or cards that target people with
Backup (i.e. Strider Hiryuu)
Key Cards: Natsu, for powering up all your guys that have backup. If she
stays out long enough, she can create monsters to tear the
enemy apart. Try to keep her on the bench unless necessary.
Also, you want cards that bring in automatic backups for
themselves (Q Bee and Bison) For each Bison card you put into
your deck, you'll want one Juni and Juli card.
Strategies: In addition to the cards listed above, you'll want at least
one "family" of cards, meaning a set of 3 or 4 characters who
can for the most part, back each other up. Probably your best
bet is the Ikari Team (Ralf, Clark, Heidern, Leona, and Whip)
since they have fairly useful stats and powers. Also, the
Activate AC card can be very useful in this deck. Another good
family to bring in is Roy, Tiffany, and Boman (since Roy has
his power to allow extra backups.)
Variations: You can include any family of cards you like for your main
backups. If you want to have Natsu be an offensive card,
bring in a couple of her backups. For this deck, you may want
to have more characters, and less AC and RE cards.
==============================================================================
Deck Type #4 - Shutout Deck===================================================
Theme: The antithesis of the Bruiser deck. Used to stop people who rely
on high BP cards while you either pick them apart or deck them.
Strengths: This deck will totally wipe out an enemy with lots of high BP
characters
Weaknesses: A more balanced deck will have the tools to wipe out the lower
BP characters in this deck. Also beware of cards that take
characters out of play, or remove/steal powers.
Key Cards: Regina and Yuki. These cards are the ones who keep out the
enemy's high powered cards. Yuki is more powerful for this type
of deck. You also want cards that will enable you to switch
hands, or get more cards, or pull out a certain card when you
need it, so you can get Yuki out ASAP.
Strategies: Put in any of the guys from the general list that you like.
Also, toss in a bunch of healing cards, so that it takes the
enemy a long time to hurt you. Chun Li is also a very useful
stalling card. You can also tweak this deck to beat the foe by
decking them. If this is the case, put 2 or 3 Joe's in there,
and any other card that lets you make the enemy discard stuff.

Comments: This card is unchanged from CFC 1. It's an excellent card,

Special Ability: None
Comments: Nothing special, but it has good stats.
Card Number: C086
Card Name: Daigo (Rival Schools/Justice Gakuen series)
Rarity A
BP: 800
SP: 0
Helpers: Akira, Rosa
Special Ability: TRIANGLE Finish It! BP doubles when enemy has 3 characters
in ring.
Comments: This guy becomes a monster when used against a full bench. Even
without his power, he has good BP, although his lack of an SP bonus
hurts him.
Card Number: C087
Card Name: Kyoko (Rival Schools/Justice Gakuen series)
Rarity B
BP: 600
SP: 2
Helpers: Hideo, Kim
Special Ability: : TRIANGLE Massage: Stops Freeze phase for all characters in

Comments: This card can be useful in certain situation, like if you want to
use a [] power, then she can come in and your [] guys can still
attack.

Rarity C
BP: 500
SP: 3

Comments: Boring
Card Number: C089
Card Name: Falcon (Power Stone series)
Rarity B
BP: 700
SP: 2
Helpers: Ayame, John, Alfred
Special Ability: SQUARE Power Stone: Randomly discards 1 card from your hand.
Gives one of your characters. 300BP
Comments: This card has fair stats, and can be useful for getting other guys
powered up if you have a lot of cards in your hand
Card Number: C090
Card Name: Ayame (Power Stone series)
Rarity D
BP: 300
SP: 5
Helpers: Ibuki, Andy, Zantetsu
Special Ability: CIRCLE Ohka-Gakure: Goes back to your hand at the beginning
of next turn
Comments: Very tough to back up, best shot is trying with a Guile.
Card Number: C091
Card Name: Wang-Tang (Power Stone series)
Rarity D
BP: 300
SP: 2
Helpers: Yun, Yang, Hon Fu
Special Ability: None

BP: 300
SP: 4
Helpers: Rouge, Haohmaru, Yagyu Jubei
Special Ability: TRIANGLE Bushido: Choose 2 cards between your hand and the
discard pile, the rest is discarded
Comments: Not a card I would use unless you have a crappy hand, and there's
goodies in the discard pile.
Card Number: C093
Card Name: Rouge (Power Stone series)
Rarity D
BP: 200
SP: 5
Helpers: Rose, Akari (P), Akari (S)
Special Ability: None
Comments: Sucky card, except for the 5 SP it gives you.
Card Number: C094
Card Name: Strider Hiryuu (Strider series)
Rarity B
BP: 700
SP: 3
Helpers: Option, Option, Option
Special Ability: SQUARE Cypher: KO's a character who has back up
Comments: Slightly less powerful than in CFC1 with 200 less BP. Still useful
against guys that use a lot of backups.
Card Number: C095
Card Name: Option (Strider series)
Rarity D
BP: 400
SP: 0
Helpers: Strider Hiryuu, Option, Option
Special Ability: CIRCLE Support: Provides backup attacks to all characters in
the ring in this turn
Comments: Here's a translation of this thing from Bean's "How the heck do
you use this card" guide If Option is in the ring, you can give characters
back-up the turn they come into play. SO, if you play a Bison card (which
lets you draw a Juli and Juni card immediately and put them in your hand)
then you could immediately go ahead and give Bison back up with Juli OR Juli
(not both). This also works if you have 2 Option cards in your hand. You can
put one option card out into play, where his ability will come into
immediate effect. Then you can give him backup with the 2nd option card
immediately.
Card Number: C096
Card Name: Cody (Final Fight series)
Rarity C
BP: 600
SP: 2

Card Name: Haggar
Rarity A
BP: 700
SP: 3
Helpers: Guy, Takuma
Special Ability: SQUARE: Spinning Lariat: Returns all characters on both sides
to the deck and shuffles
Comments: Great card to have for clearing the enemy out. Nice in a defensive
deck.
Card Number: C098
Card Name: Damnd (Final Fight series)
Rarity B
BP: 600
SP: 0
Helpers: Sodom, Rolento
Special Ability: SQUARE Whistle: Draws a random character card with 500 BP or
less from your deck, and adds it directly to your hand.
Comments: Better than Saki in a way, since he actually adds the card directly
to your hand (so you can play it that same turn), while Saki only
puts the card on top of your pile (so you'll have to wait for the
next turn to pull the card that Saki got for you). Damnd is great
for heavy backup decks with small-to-medium BP characters, like the
Rival Schools gang.
Card Number: C099
Card Name: Captain Commando
Rarity B
BP: 700
SP: 4
Helpers: Sho, Jenetty, Fuuba

Rarity D
BP: 400
SP: 0
Helpers: Sho, Fuuba, Mukuro (SNK)
Special Ability: SQUARE Hakamori (grave keeper): Discard one hand card. One
character of your choice cannot block during this round.

Comments: Not too useful
Card Number: C105
Card Name: Zombie (Resident Evil series)
Rarity C
BP: 200
SP: 0
Helpers: Zabel, Zombie, Zombie
Special Ability: SQUARE Resident Evil: KO's this character and turns another
character into a zombie card.
Comments: This guy would be utter junk, but he does provide interesting
possibilities. You can turn the opponent's once mighty player into a
worthless zombie. However, once they turn into a zombie, they can do
the same thing to you...
Card Number: C106
Card Name: Jill
Rarity D
BP: 400
SP: 1
Helpers: Leon, Claire, Chris R
Special Ability: SQUARE Beretta Gives one enemy character or enemy 100 pts.

Comments: A VERY powerful card when used right. Try to take away a powerful
ability and use it to screw the enemy over.
Card Number: C108
Card Name: Roll Ryan (Rockman series)
Rarity C
BP: 400
SP: 4
Helpers: Rockman, Rush, Cathy
Special Ability: SQUARE Roll Buster: Decreases all character's life (and this
one's) 200 pts.
Comments: Her stats are better than in CFC1 (more SP), but her special power
is kinda iffy, since it hurts you as much as it does the other guy.
Card Number: C109
Card Name: Rush (Rockman series)
Rarity D
BP: 200
SP: 3
Helpers: Rockman, Roll Ryan, Galford

SP: 1
Helpers: Rockman, Zero, Leona (has an 'X' move)
Special Ability: SQUARE Parts Change: Draw 1 action card from hand and
discard it. Draw 2 cards
Comments: Lost some stats and dropped from a C card to a D Card. His special

Card Name: Zero (Rockman series)
Rarity C
BP: 600
SP: 3
Helpers: Zero Gouki, Rockman X, Zero

with someone besides himself.
Card Number: C114
Card Name: Red Arremer
Rarity C
BP: 600
SP: 2
Helpers: Dimitri, Zabel, Zombie
Special Ability: None
Comments: Nothing great
Card Number: C115
Card Name: Lucifer
Rarity A
BP: 1000
SP: 0
Helpers: Pyron
Special Ability: SQUARE Sacrifice - KO's one of your characters, and gives that
character's BP damage to another.
Comments: Useful if you have an extra guy that can attack, and the enemy
doesn't have anyone. The way I work this card is that I have one guy as an
attacker, then when the enemy doesn't have anyone left in their ring, every guy
they would try to play, I would Sacrifice someone powerful enough to kill the
guy they put in, leaving my attacker free to get a uncontested hit. If you can
pull this combo off properly, nothing can stop it, except certain RE cards.
Lucifer himself has good BP but no SP for you.
Card Number: C116
Card Name: Ryu (Breath of Fire series)
Rarity B
BP: 800
SP: 3

SP: 2
Helpers: Blodia, Zero Gouki, Kikaio
Special Ability: TRIANGLE Stand By: Select 1 character from deck, then shuffle
deck. Put that character on top
Comments: This card is very helpful, it can let you pull out a big gun when
you need it most.
Card Number: C120
Card Name: Mech Zangief
Rarity A
BP: 1200
SP: 5
Helpers: Zangief
Special Ability: TRIANGLE Antisocial: KO's another character in your ring
Comments: Try to play this monster when you don't have anything else in your
ring, or try to get him to KO an already weakened guy.
Card Number: C121
Card Name: Dudley (Street Fighter 3)
Rarity: C
BP: 600
SP: 3
Helpers: M.Bison (Balrog), Rick, Rob Python

Card Number: C122
Card Name: Hugo (Final Fight's Andore, Street Fighter 3)
Rarity B
BP 1000
SP 0
Helpers Zangief, Raiden
Effect: CIRCLE Toughness At the beginning of the player's turn, this card's BP
changes to 500 (whether this makes him gain or lose BP does not matter)
Comments: This card is best played when you know you'll be defending against
an enemy on the next turn. He can then absorb the attack, and get
some BP back on the next turn.
Card Number: C123
Card Name: Urien
Rarity B
BP: 700
SP: 3
Helpers: Yun, Andy, Jae Hoon
Special Ability: SQUARE Foul Stench: Look at the enemy's hand and discard
their RE Cards

see the other guy's hand is always nice, plus you can get rid of those pesky RE
cards before a big attack.
Card Number: C124
Card Name: Gill
Rarity B
BP: 700
SP: 4
Helpers: Orochi, Rock H, GOD Rugal

Rarity C
BP: 500
SP: 2
Helpers: Rain, Rain, Rain

Card Name: Natsu
Rarity B
BP: 700
SP: 5
Helpers: Shoma, Roberto
Special Ability: CIRCLE Keep it Clean: All characters receiving backup will get
an additional 200 BP each round (including your opponent's backupped cards)
Comments: Could be a MONSTER! The cornerstone of a backup based deck. Stats

Card Name: Tiffany
Rarity C
BP: 400
SP: 3
Helpers: Roy, Boman, Terry B

a good power.
Card Number: C136
Card Name: Gan
Rarity C
BP: 700
SP: 2
Helpers: E Honda, Daigo, Hinako
Special Ability: None

Rarity B
BP: 300
SP: 0
Helpers: Birdie, Cody (D), Chang

rid of this power
Card Number: C144
Card Name: Maki (Final Fight 2, Capcom vs SNK 2)
Rarity C
BP: 500
SP: 0
Helpers: Guy, Haggar
Special Ability: /\ Competitive spirit: BP doubles if she is the only one on

Comments: She can be very helpful when played as the first card, or after
using a bunch of AC cards and your SP is drained.

Rarity B
BP: 600
SP: 3
Helpers: Jill, Claire
Special Ability: TRIANGLE Disorder: Does 200 Damage to each enemy character if

Card Name: Nemesis (Biohazard 3)
Rarity C
BP: 700
SP: 1

BP: 500
SP: 2
Helpers: Chris R, Regina
Special Ability: SQUARE Handgun Discards one card, does 300 damage to another

Card Number: C148
Card Name: Rock (Mega Man from the Legends games)
Rarity C
BP: 600
SP: 2
Helpers: Roll, Roll (M)
Special Ability: SQUARE Houken: Select a hand card and place it on the top of
your opponent's pile. Then draw a card from the bottom of your opponent's pile.
Comments: If your opponent has a good hand, this may be good, but otherwise,

BP: 500
SP: 4
Helpers: Rock, Rock (M)
Special Ability: SQUARE Operate: Returns one of your characters to the bottom

Rarity A
BP: 300
SP: 5
Helpers: Saki
Special Ability: CIRCLE Musenrenraku: Any card with 800BP or more returns to
hand after this turn.
Comments: That is a really great card. You can use it in combination
with Terry B (S122) to build an anti high BP deck.
Use it like you use Rimururu(C) (S138) by letting it stay
in your ring, thus avoiding big crushers like Geese, Gouki
etc.

SP: 2
Helpers: Blodia, Fuuba (US Baby Head)

Special Ability: TRIANGLE Unruly Student Swap your deck with your discard pile,
then shuffle your deck.

Good combo with Last Resort. Maybe there's finally a good use for
the No Tricks card now.
ACTION CARDS
Card Number: A001
Card Name: Fight!
Shoma and Natsu - Rival Schools
Rarity: D
SP Cost: 2
Effect: Stop Freeze Phase for all characters in your ring
Comments: Since you won't have many characters in your group with freeze when
you can play it, it's not very useful to have. Unless you use []
powers first, then play it to recover your guys, then you can use
the power or attack again
Card Number: A002
Card Name: Lightning
Dudley, from SF3
Rarity: D
SP Cost: 2
Effect: Keeps your characters out of Freeze Phase for 1 turn, even after they
attack
Comments: A great card to use if you have some powerful guys on your side.
Then they can attack and defend the opponent's next attack as well!
Card Number: A003
Card Name: Double
Kyo, King of Fighters
Rarity: C
SP Cost: 4
Effect: Keeps one enemy character frozen (while they are in freeze phase) for
their next turn
Comments: A pretty devious card. Keep a powerful attacker at bay while you
hopefully come up with something better.
Card Number: A004
Card Name: Puppet
White - Real Bout Fatal Fury, Dominated Mind
Rarity: B
SP Cost: 6
Effect: Frees a character in Freeze Phase or puts a character into freeze
phase.
Comments: A very powerful card. Useful because you can freeze a guy then get
in some free shots.
Card Number: A005
Card Name: Escape
William and Sherry Birkin - Resident Evil
Rarity: D
SP Cost: 3
Effect: Returns 1 of your cards to hand
Comments: Play this sucker on a powerful guy that is almost gone. Then
you can bring the guy back out at full strength. Another cool idea
is to bring out a guy who can instantly take out an enemy, such as
Akuma or Yashiro. Then, on the next turn, you can use Escape, then
play that card again and take out the next chump that the enemy
plays.
Card Number: A006
Card Name: Peacemaker
Tung Fu Rue - Fatal Fury (The hands are Terry and Andy)
Rarity: C
SP Cost: 6
Effect: Return one of yours and one of the enemy's characters to their
respective hands
Comments: 6 SP seems like a lot. Personally, I'd rather use escape. It costs
half as much and plus only you get the benefit Razorclaw X sent in
some strategy for this card, It's also useful in eliminating enemy
characters from the bench to get in a free attack (within reason;
don't use on characters like Akuma or heavy-hitters like Geese if
they're severely hurt). The use is similar to Yashiro's power, only
you have the opportunity to restore one of your own characters to
full strength.

Rarity B

Effect: Decreases all characters' life 500 pts.
Comments: Pretty powerful, but it can hurt you as much as it hurts the other

better for that purpose

Card Name: Earth's Pike
Final Boss from Last Blade 2 Kouryu
Rarity B
SP Cost: 8
Effect: Decreases enemy's life 500 pts.

Card Name: Nothingness
Orochi - KOF97
Rarity: C
SP Cost: 5
Effect: KO's all characters with 400 BP or less.

Card Number: A017
Card Name: Double KO
Lee Rekka - Last Blade and Yun (SF3)
Rarity: C
SP Cost: 6
Effect: KO's 1 of your characters and an enemy character.
Comments: The souped up version of Bopper. Now you can kill off one of your

with em'
Card Number: A018
Card Name: Seraphic W
Gill, Street Fighter 3
Rarity: B
SP Cost: 6
Effect: KO's all characters with 500 or more BP

lot of powerful guys in their ring, and you have jack squat.
Card Number: A019
Card Name: Fate Duel
Kyo and Iori
Rarity: B
SP Cost: 7

guy and leave the enemy with a chump.
Card Number: A020
Card Name: Slaughter
Art: Akuma

Comments: If the opponent has lots of powerful guys, and you have zilch, this
is the perfect card to play.
Card Number: A021
Card Name: Raw Shield
Art: Nakoruru
Rarity: D
SP Cost: 1
Effect: KO's one character and heals you by the amount of BP they had.
Comments: Well used on one of those goofy 200-300 BP but 5 SP guys. Then
you can gain some SP AND Heal yourself a little bit. I wouldn't
sacrifice a powerful guy to recover HP unless in a life or death
situation.
Card Number: A022
Card Name: Grace
Dhalsim's Wife, Sally
Rarity: C
SP Cost: 5
Effect: Recover 500 HP

Rarity: C
SP Cost: 0
Effect: KO's any of your characters that you want. Gain 2 SP for each KO'ed

to use Raw Shield or something like that.
Card Number: A024
Card Name: Psyche Up
Batsu and Hayato from Rival Schools
Rarity: B
SP Cost: 0
Effect: Raise SP by 5
Comments: A nice card to have, but it's just as effective to use a character
card that gives you 5 SP. Although you can use Psyche up and then
a powerful card such as Geese who normally gives you no SP.
Card Number: A025
Card Name: Hey! Hey!

Rarity: B
SP Cost: 3
Effect: Reduces both player's SP to 0.
Comments: Best used to screw the opponent over when they have tons of SP, and

a full hand Makeover is better
Card Number: A030
Card Name: Awakening
Kaede, Last Blade
Rarity: C
SP Cost: 3
Effect: Raises 1 character's BP by 300
Comments: This card can always be useful if played right. Use it to restore
a weakened character OR build up a fighting monster
Card Number: A031
Card Name: Morph
The Ump and Wan-Fu (from Samurai Showdown)
Rarity: C
SP Cost: 5
Effect: Change's a character's BP to the top card of enemy's pile.
(KO's character if Action Card is on top.
Comments: I personally don't understand the meaning of this card. Maybe I'll
use it sometime, then I can figure it out. Komejin has sent me a
description and possible strategy for this card: Well, this is what
the card does, and it's rather unreliable. You pick a character on
the table (yours or opponent's) whose BP you want to change. Then
you decide if you want the BP of the selected character to become the
BP value of the card on top of your deck or the opponent's deck.
This is why the card is so unreliable. In most situations, you don't
know what card is on top of either deck, unless you've used some
sort of AC card or character like Saki that lets arrange the top card
on your deck. The only way to ensure that the card to be Morphed will
have his BP reduced is if it's a super big card, like Geese, Krauser,
Zero Akuma, or Mech Zangief.
Here's an example of what I just said, just in case I'm too confusing.
I see that my Elena only has 100 BP left. I want to Morph her to
change her BP. I play Morph, select Elena, and then pick either my
deck or my opponent's.
- Let's say that I had Blodia on top of my deck, and I picked my
deck. Elena's BP is now 1000, which is Blodia's BP value.
- Or, let's say that Lee Pai Long was on top of the opponent's deck,
and I picked my opponent's deck. Elena's BP is now 200 (yay...)
- Or, let's say that an AC card was on top of my deck, and I picked
my deck. Elena gets KO'ed (big suck).
In short, this card is a gamble in most situations, unless you morph
a heavy hitter on the opponent's side.
P.Hwang's strategy:
Basically you use the card, and if you arent satisfied with it, i.e
you get someone with 200BP, then you can easily turn the game off,
and back on again. the card will be unused and you will know
not to use it at that time.
Card Number: A032
Card Name: Showtime!
Lilith, Darkstalkers

Card Number: A033
Card Name: ESP
Athena from the Athena RPG for PSX in Japan
Rarity C
SP Cost: 4
Effect: Choose 1 character with a [ ] ability. 1 of your characters gets
that ability
Comments: Useful to steal an ability that will come in handy, such as Ryu's
Hadoken. Also can be used to ger rid of a crappy ability
Card Number: A034
Card Name: Substitute
Lei Lei and Lei Ling - Darkstalkers
Rarity: B
SP Cost: 4
Effect: Select characters with ability and switch their abilities
Comments: Useful for taking away the enemy's powerful ability Here's a couple
hints on using it from The Boom Balloon I found a few sneaky ways
to use Substitute(A34): Besides the Ump, if you give an enemy Ukyo's
power, they get one shot with that character and you get a good 700
BP card. You can block a Geese with a card at 100 BP and BOTH will
KO. Another good one to try this with is Twelve. Substitute his
ability to Geese, then attack with Twelve. If Geese blocks, his BP
goes to 100!
Card Number: A035
Card Name: Curse
Mizuki, the final Boss from Samurai Showdown 2
Rarity: S

Effect: All characters get 1 ability found in this game

Rarity: D
SP Cost: 2
Effect: Discards all Action cards in deck. Shuffles deck after discard.

YOUR Action cards, making it basically a pile of junk.
Card Number: A041

Card Name: Pester
Rarity: C
SP Cost: 4
Effect: Take up to 3 cards from enemy pile and discard them
Comments: This card actually means take the top 3 cards from the enemy's

Rarity: A
SP Cost: 8
Effect: Draw 5 cards from deck and arrange as desired. Throw everything else
away.
Comments: Why the hell would you use this? That's what I wondered, until I
learned this trick. It was sent to me by komejin and Edison
Franklin. Use it in combination with a laundry card. Then use last
resort and pull out your 4 most powerful guys (with at least 4 SP)
as well as a laundry card. Then play the laundry card to restore
your entire deck! This is quite a useful combo if you can pull it
off (though I haven't tried it myself)

Rarity: B
SP Cost: 6
Effect: All character's BP becomes 200

Hoon, 8 Fight! cards and 16 SP. Add in an Athena or Kyosuke and you

8. Dreamcast connection FAQ
a. Versus games
In the Battle menu the second and third options are respectively
- Link exhibition match
- Link deathmatch
Link exhibition lets you play Card Fighters 2 against a friend,
mainly for fun. The winner will get one random card.
Link deathmatch is more tense, you will still battle your friend,
but this time the winner will get a random cards from the loser's
deck (not album). The player who lost will be asked to take a card
from his album to fill the empty card slot left by the lost card.
b. Dreamcast connection
DC connection will be enabled once you finish the game, and
will unlock the secret stages and characters in Capcom vs SNK 2:
Millionaire Fighting 2001 for Dreamcast.
To establish connection between the two consoles, power on CFC2,
then go to VS.Net and start the DC Connection.
Then turn on your Dreamcast with Capcom vs SNK 2: Millionaire
Fighting 2001. A yellow text will appear during the boot sequence
of the game, and every option (on the Dreamcast) will be unlocked.
(EX Grooves, Extra Options, Shin Gouki and God Rugal).
This will NOT, however, unlock Shin Gouki or God Rugal cards on
CFC2.

9. Secrets & Nifty things
TRADE MACHINE COMBOS
Some cards are obtained by putting certain combos of cards in the trade
machine. Here are some trade machine combos:
* To get A064, use Mr. Big, M. Bison and Balrog and Krizalid in a trade
machine.
* Put 2 Karin (C031) cards and 2 Sakura cards in a trade machine will
give you a Reset Button (A059) action card.
A RARITY SHOP
Kidou will start trading A rarity cards in the TRADE SHOP once you
have obtained 70% (296/424) of the cards.
BARGAIN SHOP
After any battle, you have a 1/128 chance (0.78%) chance that the
bargain shop will open its doors by going to the Trade Shop, VS.NET
menu. During bargain sales, you will be able to get rare cards for
a very low 'price'. For example a contributor got a Ryu card in exchange
for 3 C rarity cards.
The bargain shop also has a 1/64 (1.55%) chance of opening after
everytime you beat your brother Kidou.
This only works once you've beaten the game. And the shop only stays
open until your next fight.
SECRET CARDS
* You can get Chizuru from the Card store (Bargain shop). She appears at
a frequency of 0.78% (equivalent to about once every 128 times).
* Getting Shin Gouki (C160) and GOD Rugal (S160) can be done through
VS cable link battles. Don't know if it works for both Exhibition
and Deatmatch VS, or only Deathmatch.
SHOP AND RECYCLE BIN
When getting a card from the those, resetting your NGP will not 'cancel'
an eventual unlucky draw. the cards you put in/exchange are lost forever.
MASSIVE ENDING UNLOCK
Check out the storyline section to see what finishing the game
unlocks in the game.
RADIO DOWSING
This option becomes available from the VS.NET menu once you clear
the game by beating Sys for the first time. You will only be able to
use it properly if you own the NGP radio communication system (it's
kinda like the VS link cable, but it's wireless since it uses
radio waves to transmit data). What it does it sample the ambiant
radio waves through the NGP radio communication unit (which is
very random since it depends on your geographical location) and
averages the 31 sample values. It averages those values, adds 1
to this average, and gives you a card Cxxx or Sxxx where xxx is
the result of the average+1.
This is a just plain weird option.
RESET TRICK
In CFC1,when you turned off the game during a match, turning it back on
would take you back one turn, and what the computer would do was immuable.
Now, the computer CHANGES what it does, you can't watch his turn, turn
off the game, then know for sure what he'll do next time you turn the game
back on.
If you want to give up a game to make your stats looks good, turn off
the NGP during a match, then back on. In the menus choose the right,
then the left option, and you will be taken back to the CFC2 main
menu, and you will not be 'credited' with a defeat.
WALLPAPERS
The SNK (
http://www.neogeo.co.jp) has some really neat CFC2 wallpapers
at
http://www.neogeo.co.jp/svc-2/present/present.htm
The Guest illustrator illustrations are high res.
GUEST ILLUSTRATORS
The cards graphics have been deeply revised in CFC2. Many game
illustrators from both Capcom and SNK have been invited and special cards
have been made that use their artwork.
HIROAKI - SNK
drew the Geese (H), Ryo(H) cards. He is responsible for the artworks
from Fatal Fury: Wild Ambition, Buriki One, KoF2000
TONKO - SNK
drew the Akari (T), Kyo(T) cards. His art was featured in KoFR1/R2,
Battle de Paradise (NGP), Garou Mark of the Wolves and the Last Blade
series.
SENRI KITA - SNK
drew Nakoruru (S), Shiki(S), Rimururu (S). His art was featured in
SNK vs Capcom: Match of the Millenium and Gals Fighter for NeoGeo Pocket.
UZI - Capcom

Rockman battle and Fighters (NGP).
DAICHAN - Capcom
drew the Morrigan (D), Cammy(D), Cody(D) cards. His art was featured
in Street Fighter Zero, Warzard, Resident Evil 2 (monster
illustration), Resident Evil Gun Survivor, Dino Crisis 1/2 monster
illustrations.

10. Where to get the game
I got mine from NCSX (
http://www.ncsx.com). You can also get it
from Ravengames in the UK (
http://www.ravengames.co.uk). The game
is not going to be carried for long, so if you're reading this in
2002 your best chance of finding a CFC2 cartdrige is on EBay
(
http://www.ebay.com).
