01.)                    INTRODUCTION                                 G0100
===============================================================================

Welcome to 'Tokoro-San no Mamorumo Semerumo' for the NES, released by Epic Sony
Record in 1987.

Tokoro-san (Mr. Tokoro) is a famous and popular character on Japanese TV. He
has also starred in multiple games over the years, and is still active today.
His trademarks are the shades, even as he is getting older, but his styles have
changed since the 80s.

Suggestions, comments or errors - tell me about it. Enjoy!

02.)                    OVERVIEW & CONTROLS                          G0200
===============================================================================

As you move through the city, you need to find your way to the home. For the
first part of the game, each stage has doors at the end which takes you to one
of two possible locations at random. Check the map for more info.

Controls:
`````````
D-Pad    Walk, enter buildings, climb ladders, duck
A        Jump
B        Shoot, Hold B + D-Pad to run.
SELECT   Pause
Display:
````````

The top left has your current level, which part of the city you are in. The sun
and the cloud represent a timer. The cloud moves left where as the sun moves
right until they meet in the center. When the cloud covers the sun, you die.
Before that, a storm is brewing and strong winds will make your movements more
difficult, where as the screen is mostly black. You can still finish the level
at this point, it is just much more difficult if you aren't close to the doors
yet.

Life is your current health in hearts. Water is used for shooting, as you are
armed with a water pistol alone. Each four shots depletes and entire chunk of
water. The less water you have the less powerful your shot is as well. This
does not affect the damage enemies take, but how far the shot travels. When the
tank is empty, it will still squirt out some drops just in front of you.

Items:
``````
Yellow Jar:   Temporarily invincible.
Red Jar:      Temporarily double attack power.
White Jar:    Recovers 4 water bars.
Red Heart:    Recovers 1 life unit.
White Heart:  Recovers 2 life units.
Star:         Recovers all water and life.
Clock:        Resets the time.
ES:           Add a Continue or something...
Your first objective is to get to Nerima (A) from where you can continue the
second part of the game. Because of the random doors you will need to plan your
own route as you play and hope for some luck.
1: Chiyoda:
```````````
The first enemies are really easy to defeat. Be aware the shooting the manholes
away causes gaps and enemies to jump out. In some levels they might lead down
to somewhere, but it would be mentioned so you don't die trying with each one.
Soon you will reach a green river with some blocks. If you have ever played one
of the 2D Mario platformers you should be familiar with the fact that you can
simply run through this rather than a few jumps. However, there is a hidden
white jar in the suspicious looking block above. Shoot it from far away and
then run and jump so you can grab it and still land on the other side of the
river. Before entering the door, stand on the right of it and shoot into the
bushes to find another white jar.

MINI-BOSS:

This guy can hurt you no matter what, so be quick about unloading a few tanks
of water into his helmet. He'll soon go down. This is also a boss for the next
few areas unless otherwise stated.

  3|4

2|4   2|3

2: Bunkyou:
```````````
Don't take the first door down. Stand on the wall afterwards and shoot into the
cloud on the right to reveal a star. Shortly after three manholes and a foot
that most likely fell into one, there is a lone cone in front of bushes. Shoot
the bushes to find a white heart.
  4|5
1|4   1|5
3: Minato:
``````````
Run and jump on the red garage roof and then to the top to kill that musician
and avoid other nasty enemies at the ground floor. Past the bridge is a gray
platform that will drop as you step on it. The next water area has some moving
platforms to jump. Afterwards, watch out for a red post box with many enemies
around it. When they are all dead or gone, stand on the box and do a running
jump to the small roof above the door. From here, shoot the cloud on the top
right for a start. Now enter the door.

1|7   4|8

4|8   1|7

4: Shinjuku:
````````````
After the second wall, there are two cones. Shoot the second one for a white
jar. Soon you will get to a long row of manholes, some of them already opened
by the enemies. The whale will come from the left and it is flying low enough
for you to jump on. Use this method to avoid lots of enemies and only dodge a
couple in the air. You have to make sure you land on it properly, do not touch
the sides. It will drop you off near the end. Kill or avoid the musician and
shoot the bush on the right side of the door for a star.
1|7   5|7   1|5
3|6   2|6   2|3
5: Toshima:
```````````
When you reach the first large estate, jump up to the second roof and shoot out
the left window for a red jar. In the house with the two musicians, the top
right window has a white heart if you shoot it. Enter the door. While you stand
on the left side, shoot so the blocks on the bottom right get destroyed. You
should find a yellow jar. Quickly move on past the pillars, when you get to the
second acid pool, shoot the block on the left you just passed for an ES symbol.
Before you go up the ladder, destroy the blocks on the right for a red heart.
When you reach the last door, shoot the top right window for a star.

MINI-BOSS:

This guy is a little different than the others. He is small, jumps around and
also shoots. His shots can be targeted, too. He cannot reach you at the top of
the stairs, so stand on one of the platforms and aim so it hits him at the
bottom. Get the timing right for this to happen.

2|A   2|A

4|6   4|6

6: Nakano:
``````````
This level is basically just lots of platforms, either moving or falling ones.
Near the end is a red mail box, run and jump to the roof after that (there is
musician above) and from here take a good running jump to the right to land on
the door's roof. From here, shoot the right cloud for a star.
MINI-BOSS:
This boss throws hammers towards you. If you have plenty of water left it is
quite easy to reach him. If not, then you have to risk some lifes.
  3|7   9|A
4|5   7|A   4|9
7: Shibuya:
```````````
Take the first exit to the underground passage. Shoot the first block on the
left side of the small pyramid-shaped blocks to find a yellow jar. At the other
side, shoot the right side half-way up the ladder for a white jar.  Outside,
shoot the cat once and run after it while it clears everything. Shoot the third
block from the bottom on the right side of the door. It is on the same height
than the door frame. This, of course, reveals a star.

  3|4   8|X   0|6

3|4   4|8   0|X   6|9

8: Meguro:
``````````
The stage alternates between a house with a musician and some water platform
jumping. Sometimes you need to run and jump, it's not to hard to spot. Towards
the end when you see a garage with two cars surrounded by two cones, get up on
the roof and then stand on the small gray roof just on the right of this. From
here, do a short run and jump to the red roof of the building you need to enter
soon. Jump and shoot the leftmost window of the top row to find the star.
  7|X
0|X   7|0
9: Suginami:
````````````
This is a really easy stage. The only obstacles are cones and a few manholes
that may have been opened by the stomping feet. At the end, shoot the left bush
next to the door to find a star. BOSS:

Shoots at you, pretty much it. Shoot him quickly.

  6|0   7|A

7|A   6|0

0: Setagaya:
````````````
Get the white jar in the top right window of the first estate. You can take the
underground passage to fight lots of rats things, or stay at the ground level
for some feet and insects. Check the top windows of the last building for a
star, you have to jump to it from the house prior.
   9
7|8   7|8
X: Shinagawa:
`````````````

Go along, but drop into the hole blocked by a cone. Shoot the block at the
bottom left of the pipe for a yellow jar. When you get to the pillars, shoot
the high middle one for a white jar. Before you reach the second set of pillars
you can shoot out the blocks on the left for an ES-sign. Finally, the middle
section to the right of the ladder has a red heart. At the next estate, jump
all the way to the top and then jump out of the screen to go to Nerima. Should
you move on, there is a star in the block on the right side of the building, at
the same level as the door roof.

  7|8

3|7   8|3

A: Nerima:
``````````
The beginning is nothing special, but soon you get the chance to jump on a
whale going right, I suggest sticking near the roofs for better movements
anyway. This way you don't have to jump the water and its dangerous creatures.
Just before the water are a few blocks, one of them contains a clock. If you
take the whale then you should save lots of time already. When you reach end,
stay on the roof of the door and shoot out the block on the right between the
top and second from top window. Get the star and enter the building.
MINI-BOSS:
This fatty spawns small versions of himself, or sons. They are quite easy to
take care of, but your main quest is to get up on the ladder and pump the fat
guy full of water bullets.
B: Houya:
`````````

Do not touch the falling rock-like creatures, you'll die instantly. Go forward
slowly and then jump on the single cloud block. Get up to the next stretch and
continue along safely. Soon you have to jump back down where the cow is, but
get back up via the single cloud.

MINI-BOSS:

This devil-like creature throws triangles around like mad. He is hard to get
close to, but you have to. It is safe to stay just near him because his
triangles loop over you then, yet getting there is much harder. If you fall
down to the ground, either climb up on the left tree or you could try to lure
him down there too. There is a white heart at the top of the other tree. When
the boss is dead, jump high while at the top of the roof.

C: Tanashi:
```````````
This level should really be part B of the previous one. Stick to the clouds yet
again to make life easier, then when you reach the house defeat the robot that
is easier than the devil from before. There is a hidden red heart at the door,
then go up and jump to the next area...just like before.
D: Higashi Kurume:
``````````````````
Part C of the cloud levels, this is exactly the same but the boss is a robot
with upgrade weapons. There aren't any helpful items now, so I suppose it's a
tiny bit harder. Jump up to the next stage.

E: Higashi Murayama:
````````````````````
Last one of these, it's a little hard if you don't follow the clouds but I
would hope you are. 2/3rds into the stage you will meet the devil again, but
you can also ignore that guy. Defeat the easy robot at the house and then shoot
the single cloud on the right side for a star. Jump up one more time.
F: Tokorozawa:
``````````````
This time you have no safety of the birds, but you can still walk on the wall
to get away from the holes in the ground. Watch out for the general coming
towards you, he'll jump shortly before you meet up. The crazy guy coming from
the left side will also jump up when he gets close, yet I think he'll be dead
by then. Ignore the two devil at the bottom and when you reach the house, get
up on the roof and shoot the small fish on the left to find another star. Drop
down and enter the gates.

G: Tokoroke:
````````````
Do not shoot the soldier, it will hurt you instead. You cannot touch him
either, just jump over it carefully. Go through the door and avoid the fish as
much as possible. You cannot kill them. The window just before the next door
has a white jar. The window just afterwards has a clock. When you reach the
staircase, go underneath and shoot the right corner for a white heart piece.
Now go up the stairs to the next floor.
Defeat your mirror image with a few shots, you can also try to jump through it
but you will take a little damage. Watch out for the bullets, and soon the
floor will start to have gaps. When you pass the first door, shoot the window
for a clock. As soon as you see the mini-boss, a chandelier will drop down.
Another one will follow shortly. If you don't defeat this guy he will follow
you around, so do it. When you reach the stairs, shoot the top steps for a
star.
After a few gaps in the floor, shoot the window for a red jar. Defeat another
mini-boss while you dodge the chandeliers. Where the two chandeliers have
fallen, the top right corner of the window has a white jar.
BOSS:
When the screen stops scrolling right, you will know he will come into the
picture very soon. Step back so you don't get hit and then have a shoot-out
with your last ounces of life and water.
Step through the door for the ending...
Apparently you get the same (bad) ending whether or not you have been and
cleared every city area. If anyone knows otherwise, let me know.
