This walkthrough is for STED: Starfield of Memorable Relics for the NES, and is
based on the patch released by J2e translations. After going through the game,
it does seem like there are many translation errors as well as context issues.
With that being said, the official read me for the patch does state that there
more than likely will be errors. There are also a few graphical glitches
caused by the patch which are manageable.

I started work on this guide on April 23, 2006 and had it completed by
May 6, 2006. Updates will probably be minimal as the monster section is the
only thing lacking.
Thursday September 24, 2009
Reformatted the guide to include tags (control F) to make navigation easier.

There are four main characters in STED that will be introduced before you have
your first battles. Note that character development in this game is almost
non existent.
Hero:
The main character of sorts, he is the fellow who was flying in space before
a distress signal brought him just outside of Teigue. You will give him a name
before beginning the game.
Actes:
No development at all with this character, and I didn't even realize the main
hero even had a traveling companion until after I checked the menu. Actes
seems to gain levels faster than the other characters.
Corona:
She is the person who sent the distress signal causing the hero to land on her
home planet. All we know about her is that she has a brother, and is the main
reason why you are searching for answers regarding the monster attacks.
Gap:
Gap is Corona's robot and uses Cannons. He doesn't equip armor but instead has
two slots. These slots can be used to make him battle ready, as well as other
uses like the ability to read computers, search for treasure, or equip add on
packs that increase his attack power or defense power.
After naming your character, the introduction will play. In star date 0991,
while cruising through the milky way, monsters suddenly appear and attack the
galaxy. You happen to intercept a mysterious message requesting that you land
immediately on the nearest planet. You do so and the game begins.
Just a few notes about the game. Hit points are calculated by LP or (Life
Points). Magic Points are called EP or (ESP Points?)
Currency is referred to as credits and they will be hard to come by.
When you check the status screen, you will see an outline of your character,
as well as statistics for certain body parts. You can heal your body parts by
having an exam at the hospitals, or using the Restore item. All numbers are
out of 100 with 100 being fully healed, and 0 being dead. If any body part has
a zero rating, you must go to a hospital and get it regenerated by selecting
"regen" and paying the fee.
H = Head
The lower the number, the more damage you take
B = Body
The lower the number, the more damage you take
L = Legs
The lower the number, the more damage you take, agility also seems to be
effected.
A = Arms
The lower the number, the weaker your attacks will be. If you let your arms
reach zero, you will be unable to attack or use items.
You replenish LP and EP by staying at hotels. Before you stay at one, you must
indicate how many days you will stay. One day restores 10LP and 10EP. It's
often better to use your EP to replenish as much health as possible before
resting.
You begin the game in the town of Teigue, which is the capital of the Vedia
continent and under Shiseikan's control. Speak to the various people in town
to learn that a monster has stolen the towns crystal, and the town of Hyu lies
to the east. Enter all the small houses and get a better feel for the game.
If you ever wish to save your progress, simply head to the hotel and push the
"A" button while facing one of the two machines in the eastern part of the
room. Enter the northern most house and speak with the white haired fellow.
You will learn that a space army has been dispatched to deal with the monster
attacks. After speaking with him, head to the eastern part of town and enter
the home just north of the hospital. You wouldn't be able to enter the house
if you tried earlier. A woman will be inside and after speaking to her, she
will introduce herself as Corona. She is the person who sent out that distress
signal to you. She wishes to find out what is really happening with all the
monster attacks and whatnot as she feels that the space army is covering
something up. Apparently the ships crew that went to fight the monsters are
missing. She will then ask to join you in order to seek the truth. Say yes
and she will also bring along her robot named Gap. She then mentions that you
should gather information in Hyu village which we discovered lies to the east.
They will then officially join your party. Note that Gap will not be able to
attack in battle until you purchase a BatlPak for him in the next town. You
have 100 Credits (currency) to start with so I would suggest upgrading some
equipment before leaving town. Also note that ESP spells are purchased, not
learned, similar to early final fantasy games. When you are ready, leave town
and fight some battles to get a feel for the battle system. Enemies will have
a number beside their name. This confused me at first but that number seems to
signify the monsters difficulty in regard to your characters level and items
equipped. A monster with a 5 beside his name seems to be the standard type of
difficulty as you shouldn't have too much trouble with them. As you progress
and enter areas where enemies have higher numbers, like 7 or 8, you will have
a lot of difficulty, and probably die. Anyways, once Gap gets low in LP,
return to town and take him to the repair shop at the north east part of town
to heal for a small fee. Note that if you purchase any gun or cannon weapons,
you will have to use a Battery in order to charge the weapon for use. Check
the status of the gun user and note the "Powr" number. When this number
reaches zero, you will need to recharge it again.
After a few battles a character should level up. It's kind of annoying how you
can't tell how much experience points you have, or need to reach the next
level. When you do level up though, you will have the option to distribute
points to your statistics. You can distribute four points among Stamina and
Mental, and three points among Attack, Defense, Wisdom and Agility. Levels
also aren't regarded numerically like in most RPGs. They are regarded by
colors, as well as an applicable number. You begin the game at White level 0.
When you level up, you grow to White level 1. When you level from any color at
level 7, you will move on to a new color. So after White level 7, you will go
to Red level 0. Once you level up red, you will move onto another color. When
you end up changing colors, you will have twice the amount of points to
distribute among your stats.
When you feel ready to set out to Hyu, head east and a bit north and you will
eventually come to a field underneath some mountains. Keep going east and you
will find a broken bridge. Head north and then west to find Hyu.
Speak to the townsfolk and you will learn about the need for a lamp in dark
dungeons, the north east continent being near by, as well as the location of
Orvis village to the north. You should also pick up information regarding
Mong village which lies on Lutharer island. The broken bridge that you passed
on the way to town is regularly repaired by Mr. Otau, the towns engineer.
Apparently monsters keep on destroying it. There is also a tower near by that
you can enter after dark. Make sure to purchase a BatlPak at the tool shop and
make sure to equip it onto one of Gaps two slots. Also, purchase a Battery as
Gaps weapon will need to be charged. One man inside one of the houses mentions
that Corona has a brother. The man in the north western house appears to be
drunk.
Now your next destination is to head north to Orvis village. I would advise
purchasing the Chip 1 from the tool shop in Teigue, as well as the DPack 1 from
Hyu before venturing there. Also upgrade to the latest equipment.
When you are ready, head north and cross the four bridges to reach the next
area. Keep heading north and you should see a bridge heading west, as well as
a bridge leading north. Take the north bridge and you will eventually come
upon the Orvis village.
===============================================================================
ORVIS VILLAGE (WK04)
Items: None
The first man in town will mention that you will need a Passcard to reach the
other continents. Lutharer island lies to the south, and one fellow mentions
that Shiseikan (who controls the continent) is the cause of the monster
attacks. A fellow in the hospital will mention that Litromin can cure memory
loss. Enter the northern most house in the village and a young woman will ask
you if you've heard of Reedpark. Answer no to learn that Reedpark was a
forgotten relic from ancient times, and was an actual robot who could decode
many sacred texts.
Now you may be confused as where to go to next. Lets follow that lead and head
to Lutharer island which apparently lies to the south. First, definitely
upgrade to the newest available equipment in town and make sure you have a
LitLamp or two in your inventory. A quick stop to Hyu may be necessary. You
may also want to pick up a Teletrn and Compass as well.
When you are ready to leave, head south of Orvis and when you reach the bridge
that you initially took to reach the village, go east around the mountains and
cross the bridges while going south. Eventually you will come upon a white
structure. You cannot enter this yet, so keep traveling south. Eventually
you will come upon another white structure, enter it.
===============================================================================
PASSAGE TO LUTHARER (WK05)
Items: Clone
First thing you should notice upon entering is that it is pitch black. Use a
LitLamp to illuminate the way. Dungeons in this game are from a first person
perspective like Phantasy Star or Arcana. Using a Compass is a good idea as it
signifies which way is north for reference. You will probably get lost in most
dungeons if you don't make a map. Better yet, here's a crappy one:
S = Starting point
D = Door
E = Exit
- = Wall
| = Wall
1 = Clone
This passage isn't too large but there are a few trails that lead to dead ends.
From the entrance go up four steps, right twice, up twice, left twice, up four
times, right once, up once, right three times, and up four times while going
through two doors. You will be standing at a dead end. Search to find a
Clone, which is an item that revives the dead. Now turn around and go down
four times, left three times, up twice, right twice, up twice, left three times
and down twice more to take the stairs and exit the passage. You will now be
on Lutharer island. head south and east to find the town of Mong
Speak to the townsfolk to learn that more people seem to wonder if Shiseikan is
responsible for the monsters. You will learn that a tower near by has five
floors from a man at the north end of town. Speak to the town Elder to learn
that monsters stole her crystal and fled to the west. You will not be able to
enter the north eastern most house at this point. Now go and purchase a few
things. Definately get the Chip2 for Gap. You may also want to pick up the
APack1. There is an ESP shop in town that has some costly, but decent spells.
I would take the time to purchase Cure1 for all your human characters, as well
as the spell, Mordred, which cures poison. Flame3 and Freeze3 are spells that
attack all enemies and Light is a good spell to have as it illuminates
dungeons.
Now lets head west to find that missing Crystal. Return to the tunnel and
backtrack your way through it. From the tunnel when you exit, head west until
you come upon a bridge. As you progress, you will recognize this as the bridge
that Mr. Otou always repairs. Heal up and as you step on the furthest tile,
you will be attacked.
Battle - Clooa
Clooa has lots of LP and very strong physical attacks. He also has a multi
attack which strikes three times.
After the battle, Clooa will drop a capsule. Open it to receive the San Crys.
Now return to Mong. I hope you saved there so you can simply use a Teletrn to
warp back, otherwise, enjoy your walk.
For some reason, when you return to town and speak with the Elder, she will
still say the same thing she said before you recovered it. Enter the house
south west of hers and speak to the man inside. he gets all exited and tells
you to see the Elder, even though he apparently takes your crystal. Must be a
translation error or something, regardless, you have triggered the opening of
the north eastern house. Enter it and speak with the old man. He asks what
brought you to him. Apparently Litromin did and that is both news to you and
I. He wishes you good luck in your search and then gives you the Litromin...
gotta love NES games. Anyways, return to Orvis.
Head to the hospital and speak to the person lying on the ground. Use the
Litromin as an item and he will notice Corona. He will request your help. He
states that sealed within the Bioroid Plant is Shiseikan. You need a gem to
open the Bioroid Plant, and then gives you a password of 1525. Remember that
or right it down because after you finish speaking to him, the Litromin will be
used up and he won't repeat what he said. Make sure you have purchased a
LeadPak before heading off to your next destination.
Vedia Tower is your next destination, and it is located north west of Hyu. To
get there, you must first travel far south west of Orvis village until you
reach the lower part of the continent. From there, head west past the
mountains and continue north, crossing three bridges to reach the tower. Here
are some more crappy maps to help guide you through:
S = Starting point
D = Door
A = Stairs to second floor
- = Wall
| = Wall
Use the Light ESP or a LitLamp to brighten your way. From the entrance, go up
five times, left three times, up twice, right five times, south once, right
once, south four times, left twice, up four times and left three times to reach
the stairs.
A = Starting point

From the stairs, go right once, down twice, left twice, up three times, right

From the steps go down through the doors six times, right once, down once,
right once, up twice, left once, up five times, right six times, down twice,
left once, down once, and left three times to take the stairs.
You will now be on the top of the tower and it will be your standard top down
view, instead of first person. Make your way to the monster in the middle of
the room and approach him to battle.
Boss Battle - Disdark
This will probably be your toughest battle to date. Disdark has lots of HP and
has the ability to put you to sleep. He also has a multi attack which strikes
three times. Keep your LP above 30 and heal almost every round.
After the battle, search the capsule near by to get the Pass1. Now approach
the computer and equip Gap with the LeadPak so he can understand the computer.
Search it now and it will prompt for a password. Enter the password that you
were told (1525) with the arrow keys and press the "A" button to confirm. You
will then receive the Red Gem. The computer will shut down and you are told
that you need to shut down the Bioroid System to complete your mission by Teig
(which I think is a translation error for Teigue) via the computer as Shiseikan
is keeping up the harassment. Equip the APack or DPack back on Gap and exit
the tower. I hope you have a Seceder so you don't have to backtrack. Disdark
dropped one after the battle but I don't know if he does this every time. Make
your way towards, Hyu, the nearest town, save, and heal up.
Your next destination if the Kadun continent to the east. Now that you have
the Pass1, you can enter the tunnel that you couldn't before when you were on
your way to Mong. Head north east of Hyu, and make your way around the
mountains and travel south. When you reach the tunnel, enter it.
S = Starting point

^,v,< = one way door, wall on other side
Illuminate the way and go up five times, left twice, up twice, right once, up

You will now be on a small island with a tower in the middle, a tunnel to the
north, and another tunnel to the immediate east. Note that you cannot enter
the northern tunnel, or the tower at this point in time. Enter the tunnel to
your east.

From the entrance, go up once, left twice, up thirteen times and search the
dead end to find a Brainer. Retreat down eight steps, go right four times, up
eight times, left once, down three times and left once to reach the exit.
When you exit the tunnel, you will be on a different continent. From here,
head south and move all the way around the mountain before heading north. Keep
sticking to the north west mountain outline and you will eventually find a
town, enter it.
Speak to the locals to learn that you are on the Kadun continent. For all
intensive purposes, this town will be referred to as Kadun. You will learn of a
lamp that you can find in Algi, as well as the town of Seiruni located to the
east. A man at one of the western houses in town won't answer if you try to
converse, and another will mention a cave to the north. Enter the large house
at the north part of town to find a fellow who tells you that you need to quell
the monsters brigade. According to legend, there are also ruins located
somewhere on this continent. Now it's time to shop.
Pick up the Chip3 from the tool shop for Gap, and consider the DPack2. There
are new weapons and armor, as well as new ESP. There is also a repair shop in
the north western corner of town to heal Gap with. Definitely pick up a
ScanPak for Gap, you will need this item much later in the game, and if you
don't have it, backtracking can be quite annoying.
When you are finished here, leave town and make your way east. Once you make
your way past the mountains after the trail breaks north, head south a bit and
then east to find another town, this will be Seiruni that was mentioned
previously.
A man in town will mention a village to the south, and you will be warned of
the harder monsters that reside in the area. A woman inside an eastern house
will suggest that you ask people for information regarding the ruins that were
mentioned in Kadun. She also tells you that she will give you her watch as a
present if you "Just wait a bit"... before asking if you could help her
recover. I think this is a brutal translation error as I believe she is
requesting you find her watch and she will give you a present if you do so.
Check the weapon shop and ESP shop for new stuff. I suggest picking up Cure2
for your characters, as well as Teleprt.
If you try to go south from town, you will most likely get slaughtered and die
a painful horrible death. Instead, head north from Seiruni. As you travel,
beware of opening capsules after battle. Some are traps that will reduce the
party's LP by 25 points. Eventually as you travel north, you should notice a
path that leads to a lone tree just underneath a town. Equip Gap with the
ScanPak and you will see an exclamation mark over your head as you appear under
the tree. Search to find a SuprNES. You can sell this item for ten thousand
credits. Now head north to find the town near the mountains, enter it.
This is the town that has a lamp as stated previously by a fellow in Kadun, as
well as the old man near the town entrance. Another old man will mention an
"odd" tomb in the graveyard. You will also be reminded of the north cave, and
to watch out for robots inside the cave. One man inside a house mentions a
temple, while another man calls you a dumbass in regards to entering the north
cave. The tool shop will have a Chip4 for Gap, as well as an APack2 if you
want. You can also purchase the AlgiLmp for one thousand credits as it does
have unlimited uses, unlike the standard LitLamps. It's not really worth it if
you have the Light ESP though. You can also purchase MentalC's for Gap which
will restore him to full LP. Anyways, head to the eastern part of town to
access the graveyard. Face the lower right tomb and search to find a capsule.
Open it to receive the Watch. Now, lets go explore that cave to the north.
===============================================================================
NORTH CAVE (WK11)
Items: BrkHarp
Ito
Harp
Exit Algi and head north to find the cavern. This place is pretty straight
forward.
S = Starting point
D = Door
- = Wall
| = Wall
1 = BrkHarp
Illuminate the way and go up seven steps, right twice, up twice, left twice, up
six times, right once, down five times, right twice, down twice, right twice,
down twice, left once, down once, left three times and down five times. Search
the dead end to find a BrkHarp. Now backtrack and exit the cave.
Return to Kadun now and speak to the man who told you about the cave in the
first place. He is located in the house directly south of the repair shop.
Speak to him and you will hand over the BrkHarp. The man will mention that the
harp has broken strings and thus, the harp cannot make any sound. So now he
took your harp and you have no idea what to do... excellent. Well, since the
harp has broken strings, I guess it's off to go find some.
Leave town and engage in random battles near Kadun. Every so often, Zarak's or
Rasta's will drop an item called Ito. This is the item you need.
Return to the man you have the harp to and speak with him to hand over the Ito.
He will then wonder if you can find new strings in the cave. He then gives you
back the fixed Harp... I think there was another translation error somewhere
in that last sequence.
Anyways, head to Seiruni so you can give that Watch to the lady. Speak to her
inside her house on the eastern side of town and you will hand over the Watch.
She will then tell you that there is an eccentric man living south of the giant
rock. Excellent, another vague clue. Speak to her again and she will be
having gas pains or something. Anyways, leave town and head south. As you
progress, you should notice a bunch of lone stones scattered about. There will
be a section with two stones side by side with a tree beside them. Face the
eastern most stone (or the right stone) and use the Harp as an item. I know
how silly this may seem since clues as to what to do next include some crazy
guy and a rock, but do it anyways. Suddenly the water flowing near by becomes
tainted... okay. You will now suddenly be warped inside the ruins that
people spoke of before.
===============================================================================
ANCIENT RUINS (WK12)
Items: None
Make your way to the ruin entrance and go inside. There will be a neat
graphical glitch as you approach the computer so be very careful. If you open
the menu when you can see the glitch, once you close it you will actually
appear in the jumbled graphics. Anyways, equip Gap with a LeadPak and search
the computer. You will be told that you can fulfill your destiny at the
Bioroid system. The system is sealed but the path can be opened with the three
magic gems (we do have the Red Gem). You are then told to remember the number
8492, do so. You are then told of a great temple people traveled to in ancient
times which you should seek out to find your answers.
You are then asked "Will you return?" Be careful as saying yes will give you
the option to redistribute all statistical points to Attack, Defense, Wisdom
and Agility. Useful if you feel you under developed a character in some
regard. Only do this if you feel it necessary. Say no to skip it. You will
then appear in the graphical glitch portion of the room. Simply move down a
few spaces (right once and then down if you searched the left side of the
computer) and then head west to the green looking tiles. You can travel down
them to exit the ruins.
Now return to Seiruni. Stock up on items, heal, and make sure you have
upgraded weapons. Leave town and head east, and then south. Eventually you
will find a tower, enter it.
This tower can be tough, and even with upgraded equipment the monsters can be
very annoying. There are quite a few useless paths and most trails often lead
in circles or to dead ends.

be in a top down view. Make your way to the center, heal up and fight the
monster.
Boss Battle - Bowser
Bowser has a multi attack which strikes three times and a thunder attack which
can hit the whole party. Casting Flame seems to do pretty good damage to him.
Heal often and you should be victorious after a long, drawn out battle.
Equip the LeadPak and search the computer. You will be prompted for another
password. Enter the number you retrieved at the Ancient Ruins (8492) and you
will receive a GrenGem. You are then told that you are to shut down the
Bioroid system to complete your mission. The computer then gets rude and
completes it's shutdown. Exit the tower and return to Kadun.
Enter the large building in the middle of town and speak with the man. He will
give you the Pass2. You can now access the northern tunnel on that island with
the tower you passed by, on your way to the Kadun continent.
Head there next and make your way through the tunnel. In case you forgot,

NAMELESS TOWN (WK14)
Items: None
Apparently this town is too good to have a name. Either that, or I missed it
somehow. Speak with the townsfolk about a legend that states a party of four
will defeat monsters plaguing the land. I wonder who those four will be..?
Don't forget to meet Lyle, who is apparently an in-law to a fellow named Sauson.
Tript village lies north or here and you will need a lot of energy to break the
barrier of the Bioroid system. Monsters have also attacked a town called Tario
as well. A fellow in a house to the north west of town tells you about a
legend. Apparently ESP drains EP, and armor increases your defense. I know,
I know.... Shocking info. Why wasn't this guy placed in the first town? The
old man in the large house towards the north part of town demands that you do
something about the monsters.
This town will have all the standard shops (Tool, Weapon, Repair, ESP,
Hospital, Hotel). I would suggest spending my arm and your leg on some of the
newer equipment and whatnot.
When you are finished, leave town and head for Tript. Head south from town and
make your way east. Eventually you will head around the mountain while
traveling north. Once you reach the open field, head west until you hit the
mountain. From here, go south and you should come upon an odd set of four
stones. Remember this and head west and then north to find a path that leads
to Tript.
Speak to the townsfolk and you will learn that the universe is a Star Ocean..
awesome. You will also learn that there is a tower near this village, and that
Volemb village lies north west of here. In the town of Tario (which was
attacked by monsters) it's apparently difficult to tell apart the humans from
the monsters. Pick up a Chip5 from the tool shop for Gap. The northern house
in town will currently be empty. Finish up and exit town to start walking to
Volemb.
From Tript, go north west a bit and then north, between the two mountains.
Head west along the coastline to reach Volemb.
Do the usual greet and meet to learn that the local general store is strange,
and Taki Town is to the east. A magic Crystal is also located near that town.
You are again reminded of the powerful monsters near Tario town and urged to
run away if encountered. An eastern passage leads to a town and a woman inside
a house will tell you that a powerful ESP can be found on the western
peninsula.
Now the next part of your quest will be spend leveling up and earning credits.
Make sure you earn enough money to purchase a Changer from Volemb. After
purchasing the Changer, exit Volemb and head east, while following the coast.
You should eventually come to a bridge that leads north. Take the bridge and
go east to find the town of Tario.
This town will have badly damaged buildings (it was destroyed by monsters). If
you speak to any of the monsters that wander the town, they will attack. You
will also engage in random battles just by walking through the town and you
won't be able to enter any of the buildings.
Use the Changer item in the town and you will transform into a monster. You
will now be able to converse with all the demons and enter the normal houses.
There are some translation errors when speaking with the monsters. Oddly, they
will wonder if you are their last hope, even though they would attack you if
you looked human... Enter the houses to get information. The white old man
won't reply to you if you speak with him. Another guy will mention that the
towns Crystal was stolen by monsters... even though you look like a monster.
Okay, so it's time to find another Crystal.
Leave town, cross the bridge and head east and then north. Note that the
Changer effect wears off once you leave town. You should eventually come to a
tunnel entrance, enter it.
S = Starting point
D = Door
E = Exit
- = Wall
| = Wall
This is a very straight forward tunnel and you shouldn't get lost, even without
directions. From the entrance, go up five times, left once, up six times, left
once, and up four times to reach the exit.
Now you will be on a medium sized island, just east of where you initially
took the tunnel. Head north east while making your way around a large mountain
and you will eventually come to a village just past a bridge. Enter it.
===============================================================================
TAKI TOWN (WK18)
Items: Crystal
This is the town of Taki. Apparently the Crystal that you seek is south of
this town. You are told to speak to Lyle of the Nameless town. An old man
wandering around the north part of town will tell you about the strong Psycho
Equipment. An old man from inside a house will tell you "With this ESP, you'll
be able to crush the defenses of almost ANY monster!"... Okay, what ESP then?
This town has an item shop so pick up the Chip6 for Gap. If you visit the ESP
shop, there will be quite a few awesome spells. You should also notice the
prices... Anyways, leave town and lets head south to find that Crystal.
Take the southern bridge and make your way to the center of the small mountain.
Equip Gap with a ScanPak and if you stand in the north eastern most spot in
the middle of the mountains, you should notice an exclamation mark appear over
your head. Search this area to find a capsule. Inside will be the Crystal.
Now this next part of the game will really suck. Earning enough credits to
purchase ESP like Revive and PsyShel which will be very helpful later on. You
will also need to purchase another Changer from Volemb as well, so save up.
Also, while fighting battles outside of Taki Town, some monsters will drop
items such as LilDako and Porno. Get your mind out of the gutter. These items
can be sold for 100 and 1000 Credits respectively.
After you pick up the Changer from Volemb, and you are ready to advance the
story, return to Tario. Use the Changer and enter the north eastern most
house. Speak to the man and even though the game doesn't tell you, you will
give him the Crystal and he will thank you. Leave the town now and simply
re-enter it. All the monsters will now be gone and you can enter any of the
houses and shops. The weapon shop will contain all the knives for Corona, as
well as all shirts that she can wear. Enter the south eastern most house and
the old man who wouldn't talk to you while you were in monster form, will talk
to you now. He will give you a password (5193) and also tells you that the
three Gems lead to the core... Now that you have the password, it's time to
tackle the tower on this continent.

Once again the fifth floor will be from a top down perspective. Make your way
to the monster in front of the computer and approach him to start the battle.
Boss Battle - Sign of
What a stupid name... probably another mistranslation. Sign of can cast Flame
and has a multi attack which strikes three times. I found trading blows to be
more effective than using ESP, though you definitely want to cast PsyShel on
your party.
Afterwards, approach the computer after equipping Gap with the LeadPak and
search. Enter the password you were provided by the man in Tario (5193), to
receive the BlueGem. You are then told once again to shut down the Bioroid
System to complete your mission as Shiseikan has returned. Exit the tower and
return to the nearest town, Tript.
After healing your wounds, and saving and whatnot, head south of Tript and then
east to come upon the four rock structure you passed when you first made your
way to Tript. Step in the middle of the four rocks and your three Gems will
release their magical energy and merge. Check your inventory and you will no
longer have the three gems, instead, you will have an item called "Energy".
Return to Tript.
Heal up once again and save your game. After doing so, enter the north eastern
house in town and speak with the man. He will notice your energy and power,
and for some reason attacks you.
Battle - Warzun
He is pretty strong against physical attacks and has the ability to cast Flame,
as well as Thundr2. After defeating him, you will receive the very powerful
Psycho Sword.
Leave Tript now and head north west as if you were going to Volemb. Instead of
going there though, keep heading west until you find a lake with a small bridge
on it. Walk to the end of the bridge and you will automatically find the
Psycho Gloves. If you happened to come here previously, the screen would have
just flashed once you stepped on the bridge. I assume that is to signify that
you need Energy or something.
You can now enter the tower on that small island that you weren't able to enter
before, now that you have the Energy. I would suggest making sure you have the
most powerful weapons, as well as the strongest armor before doing so.
Head to the Nameless Town once you are ready and save here so that you can
teleport back if needed. Head south and enter the tunnel.

Note that there will be a neat graphical glitch on the next floor. If you
manipulate this glitch, you can enter houses and what not from Volemb. You can
even exit Volemb and appear on the world map. Any battles that you encounter
during this glitch will have the tower background. Anyways, just go north to
reach the computer. Equip Gap once again with the LeadPak and search the
computer. You will be warped out of the tower and appear on a small series of
islands that are connected by bridges. There will be some very strong new
monsters for you to kill, mainly robots and machines. Make your way north west
to find the final tower.
This is it, the final tower and it stands eight floors instead of the standard
four.

Bioroid System stirred. This stirring caused an energy overload which spawned
all the monsters across the land. He then tells you that someone must fix the
Bioroid System. You are then attacked.
Boss Battle - Sign of
Remember this guy with the stupid name? Use the same strategy as before. Deal
out physical attacks and conserve your EP.
Afterwards, speak to the man again (you actually won't have a choice as the
game freezes you in place, you can't heal which kind of sucks) and you will be
attacked by the true final boss.
Boss Battle - ShiseiK
Ahh Shiseikan, the mysterious thing that you have been hearing about all game
long.
Saying that this battle will be hard is a huge understatement. Saying that
this battle will be impossible is probably closer to the truth. Firstly, you
better have many Brainers, as well as decent ESP like Thundr3. Gravitn also
works very well but I think you get more EP worth by casting Thundr3. This
bastard has three main attacks. His standard attack which simply strikes a
single character. His multi attack which strikes three times... and the
dreaded Thunder attack which hits the whole party for around 50LP worth of
damage. Occasionally a character may dodge his Thunder attack but that is
pretty rare. I would love to tell you that this battle will be won by skill,
but it wont. It all comes down to luck. If Shiseikan doesn't cast his Thunder
attack that often, you have a very small chance of winning. If Shiseikan does
indeed cast his Thunder attack fairly often, you have no chance of winning and
you will die. My characters were all at Gold Level 2 and I still only managed
to defeat him based on dumb luck, and the fact that I had like seven Brainers
to keep feeding Corona. I beat him with two characters left alive with no more
EP and about 80LP between the two of them.
After the battle, Shiseikan will admit to creating the monsters. He then warns
you that he will destroy the entire universe before disappearing.
Approach the Bioroid System (computer) and you will automatically destroy it.
You have sealed the Bioroid System forever and the monster attacks will come to
an end. The galaxy is now filled with peace. The jumbled credits will then
start to roll.
You have now beaten STED. A winnar is you!

to the monster parties. Below is a list of all the monsters, as well as any
special skills or ESP that they may have. This is not complete as I'm sure
there are some monsters I missed, as well as certain characteristics that were
left out.

Now I haven't really encountered many secrets in this game. I guess the
SuprNES located south of Algi could be considered a secret. I have also found
a couple of other items underneath random trees that I forgot to document.
Other than that, I didn't really find anything I would consider a secret.

CONTACT AND ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS (CONT)
*******************************************************************************
This is my fourth walkthrough that I have written and the first one that is
not related to Dragon Quest. If you have any questions about this game that
are not answered in this FAQ, feel free to email me at
corystahlbaum"@"yahoo.com (remove quotes) and put "STED" in the subject line.
Please note that I check my email very infrequently so it may be a while before
I get back to you if at all. If your question is in this guide it will probably
be ignored. Feel free to contact me if you see any errors or wish to make any
contributions to this FAQ. Credit will be given of course. I don't view
emails that have any attachments and whatnot so send text only. In regards to
updating this guide, it is fairly complete so I don't see a need for any
significant updates except for any errors and monster statistics.
I've only played through this game once, so there is a good possibility I have
overlooked a lot of things. This game can be very vague in regards to what to
do next but I think that has to do with the sub par translation it received.
With that being said, it is still a better translation then most early Nintendo
games received ;). I'd like to thank J2e Translations for making this obscure
game playable in English. I'd also like to apologize for the poor attempts I
made at mapping the tunnels and towers, I hope they aren't too hard on the eyes
and that they helped guide somebody.
