1. Legal
The original game, JESUS: Kyoufu no Bio-Monster, is copyright
Enix and King Records.
I am not affiliated with either in any way (though they make a fine game).
The latest version of this guide will be distributed on my website (listed
in section 5) and on www.gamefaqs.com.
Please don't steal this guide and post it under your name. This took a lot
of work to do! If you're going to distribute it, do so with the entire
document intact.

2. Introduction: What is JESUS?
Jesus, at least in this context, is a game for NES, MSX, and PC88.
Published by King Records and created by Enix
(now Square-Enix), it has excellent artwork (for an NES game) and a pretty
good, if sparse, soundtrack composed by Koichi Sugiyama of Dragon Warrior
/ Quest fame. As far as genre is concerned, Jesus is an adventure / survival
horror. It is probably most linked to Interactive Fiction in that all
decisions are text-based. It is unlike other first-person adventure games in
that it is impossible to die. More information on the game is already
posted on my website, along with screenshots.
The game takes place in the year 2037. the main character, Hayao, is aboard
the Skylab Jesus (hence the name of the game). Hayao is going with seven other
brave men & women to investigate Halley's Comet, which is heading dangerously
close to Earth. Some life signs may be in the comet, but little
is known as of yet.
There are more Jesus games. There is a version of Jesus 1 for the PC-FX with
better graphics and kanji (thus I'm glad I chose to translate this one!), and
there is at least a second installment for PC-FX as well.
If anybody has more information, please contact me!
And, lastly, it is not about THAT Jesus. I've been around the GameFAQs
message board a while now, and those jokes are getting old.
***The following is new as of 3/25/06***
I've been hacking the ROM, and it would seem this guide will be
more or less useless soon... however, it would only seem that way.
ROM hacking (at least the way I've been doing it) involves using the
same space as the ROM itself, and Japanese is dense. So this is bound
to be a more complete (and, in my opinion, better) translation of the game.
As of the latest posting of this guide, I am roughly half complete with the
text.

3. Translation notes:
(k) refers to a katakana word, (h) to a hiragana one.
-I still can’t figure out what Ochame (k) means - I have translated it as
"awkward" but I was unable to find any definition online or otherwise.
-I have translated daeki(h) as "sputum" in one portion and "saliva" in
another to keep a less technical tone.
-I have translated yatsu(h) as "that thing" in most cases; alternate
translations vary from a somewhat less-serious "rascal" to some more
questionable terms.
-I have translated re-za-ron(k) as "synthesizer" because that’s what it
really seems to be. I don’t know what a Laser Ron / Laser Lon would be,
maybe a space-age keyboard?
-The names are translated as follows:

If you have better suggestions for the names, let me know and I'll
take a look.
-The formatting may seem a little odd, but I am trying to maintain
the formatting in the game. As a result, I’m trying to keep the tempo
so that line breaks only occur during natural pauses, but this isn’t always
possible. I also have some minor problems with grammar - after the first
posting, I will read through it and fix some errors. Particularly in the
text format, this may be hard to read, and I apologize for that in advance.
I plan on fixing it.
-I have interspersed some comments as to situations in there. I'm sorry if
anybody finds them too annoying. They are denoted by parentheses.
-The ordering of events is admittedly shaky. Since this is a partially
nonlinear game, I've tried to keep things in order as best I can. I've
denoted some especially important events with a * in the text, but I need
to work on getting all of that done. This may turn into a walkthrough as well!
-The translation is a spoiler! If you skip through to the end, you will find
out the ending! (and it probably won't make much sense to you). You've been
warned.
-Lastly, as with any translation, some of my attitudes have been communicated
along with the text, so this is not a perfectly accurate translation (if such
a thing can exist)! Some things either didn't translate well, and in some
extremely rare cases, I've put in extra wording or context, etc.

4. Spoiler-free Walkthrough
Main line of events:
Jesus:
1. Talk to the Captain. Be sure and check your pocket here.
2. Go to the Infirmary and talk to Hoka. Give her her card.
3. Go to Eline's room and talk to her. Give her the card and chat a bit.
4. Go to the Rec room to find Balkas. Give him his card and talk if you
want.
5. Go back to Eline's room. Notice her robot isn't around.
6. Back to the Rec room and find Carson. Chat if you want and give him his
card.
7. Back to Eline's room. Fojii's back; now you can go to the Lobby.
8. Go there. Give Huyler and Milakov their cards.
9. Back to Hoka's room. Look around a few times and talk to her and she'll
ask you to find Bellini.
10. Go to Bellini's room. Give him his card and talk a bit if you want.
11. To the Commander's Office to continue to the next portion of the game.
Comet:
1. Go to the first floor. Explore the cockpit thoroughly. Explore the
other room on the first floor thoroughly.
2. Go to the 2nd floor and find the lab (room with the lockers).
3. Since it's on the way, search the ventilation shaft in hi-temp room a
few times.
4. Go to the crew's area, get a card and check Bellini's terminal a few
times. Go to Huyler's room and find something useful in his locker...
5. Go to Armory. Keep in mind what you know so far and choose a weapon
accordingly ("which of these things is not like the other ones?")
6. Go to CPU room now that you have the card. Check the floor and make
sure you get an Enepack.
7. So now you have a weapon and ammo. You may find what you're looking for
now on the 4th floor someplace.
8. Can't be too far off now, right? What's the closest room?
9. You're worried about her, right? Signs point that she might not be too
far away from where she was before (check the 2nd floor).
10. Talk a while until you're free again. Use the biosensor from where
you're at.
11. Don't try to go down there. You can do what you need from here.
12. Use the Scanning Panel to detach the warehouse. You'll get a hint of
what you want. (BWR)
12. Go down to the cockpit and get in contact with the Corona.
13. Go to the freezer, search around, and find what you need. Grab it.
14. Back to the airlock. Talk to Fojii twice.
Corona:
1. Explore first area. Talk to everybody twice. Talk to Carson once you're
done.
2. Go to all the rooms and explore them. Afterward, head to the MechRm and
search the floor for something nifty.
3. Go to the lab and find something odd.. Take a look at it and talk to
Fojii.
4. Go to the warehouse.
5. Do all the actions you can here: Talk twice, 2nd twice, last three times.
6. Here we need to look in the ConfRm and find the cassette, then search in
the StoreRm thoroughly..
7. Take it to Carson for him to take a look at. Talk to him about both
subjects.
8. Go to the CpslRm and the StoreRm and notice some odd things. Hmm.
9. Explore the cockpit (you should get more options now).
10. If you don't get something when you leave the cockpit, do a bit more
exploring. The next event only triggers when you've explored everything.
11. Once you notice something out in the hall, go ahead and check it out.
You remember where that system is, right?
12. After that, the next event is based on how many rooms you enter.
13. Hmm... If I were a monster, where would I be? How about Milakov?
14. Now you're more or less on a track. Do the dialogue thing, then head to
the MechRm.
15. Explore a bit. You'll find you can't leave afterward. Follow the event.
16. You made it out! But do you feel quite safe? Talk to Milakov as much as
you can, then look around.
17. Whoa! So now you need to link up to the main computer. Who was the
Corona's scientist?
18. After all that dialogue is exhausted...
19. Wander around a bit. When you're ready, head to the airlock and

Carson: I wonder if the Comet has already
harvested Halley’s gas?
Hayao: Yes, we received word earlier.
Carson: I want to see it soon too...
I wonder if the comet really was the source
of life on Earth?
The key will be in that gas, no mistaking it.
(Alarm sounds)
Hayao: Captain, there’s a disturbance...
The signal from the Comet... it’s vanished.
Milakov: Turn on the Emergency Channel!!
Hayao: There’s no response.
Carson: It may be an emergency situation.
Let’s go to save them!
Hoka: Because they’ve come in contact with the comet,
It’s probable their bodies have been badly

First, we should send out a scout.

main pipe. I was able to fight it when I had the Heat Gun. I had the heat
gun because apparently when you take the guns, you pick them up even though it
implies you don’t (by not changing the image)).

Halley’s Comet arrives.

Hayao: Looks like the noisy one’s quiet now.

Those six who lost their lives would
surely allow that much.
Eline: Don’t say that...
I still feel sadness whenever
I remember them.

Fojii’s Monologue
I hadn’t charged up for quite some time.
Gradually I had lost my energy.
Losing my energy means that part of my
memory vanishes.
Before that point, I had planned to charge...
With the atmosphere created by Hayao’s monster, I didn’t.
The final words of Milakov’s consciousness... I wonder if
those two will remember them?
"We have a great strength in that melody".
That was his way of advising us.
The monster had evolved a great deal.
If we keep that melody close,
We may be able to survive.
Humans have survived this time.
The melody has cut a path for them.
In the year 2137...
