This is an old, old story -=< 01. The Tale of the Deadly Towers >=-
from stone and copper ages
when there lived men and devils.
As the coming-of-age ceremony approached, Prince Myer grew nervous
for the day would be a memorable time in which he would succeed to
the throne of the kingdom of Willner. In his worrying about the
kingdom of the future, he took himself over by the lake near the
castle to think. Suddenly, reflecting the moonlight, a shadow
arose from the lake. As the prince stared at it, it gradually
changed into a man.
"Prince Myer! Light of Virtue!", the man's voice rose out. It
is time for you to light up the darkness. Rubas, the horrid Devil
of Darkness, is plotting to extend his power over your kingdom.
He is viciously scheming to build a castle on the northern
mountain, to ring magic bells, to lure monsters out at your
defenses, and to invade the kingdom in a single stroke.
"If you wish to be forever at peafce in the kingdom of Willner,
you must hourney to the northern mountain and burn down the
Seven Bell Towers in the Devil's castle with the sacred flame.
Prince Myer! Only you can accomplish this feat. Go to the
mountain! Burn down the seven towers! Defend the kingdom
against the Devil!"
With that, the shadow grew mistier, lost it's shape, and
finally disappeared, leaving the beautiful lake as though
untouched.
"Could it be an oracle?", Prince Myer murmered. He fell deep
into thought for a moment, but immediately regained his senses.
He had remembered the Legend of Khan.
The kegend said that at the time when God's image appears from
the lake, a great power will be given to a young man to deafeat
the Devil of Darkness and restore peace to the kingdom.
Hurrying back to the castle, the prince told the king of the
strange event.
The king, believing in the truth of the matter, excitedly
ordered prince Myer to destroy Rubas and all his dark ways.
.... and the story unfolds only through your actions ...

If imitation is the ultimate compliment, -=< 03. The Battle System>=-
the team behind The Legend of Zelda must be
blushing purple by now. Thank god BR0DERBUND Software didn't lose the
simplicity and fun of the simple gameplay. With the A button for attacks,
and B buttons for defensive parries and maneuvers; where can you go wrong?
However, enemies seem to be much toughter in Deadly Towers than in Zelda.
It takes a good number of sword jabs to eradicate an enemy. But then that
difference is countered by the fact that regardless of your health, you
seem to be able to launch your sword at foes and that they stand
perfectly still for a second or two after being struck. Take advantage
of this by launching several swords at close range; the game will allow
only ONE sword on the screen.
As for a health meter, you have a hundred health points (HP) maximum
to start out with. It's located at the top of the screen. But don't
let it's large number fool you, it gets reduced at rates that are
beyond fustrating. Get nicked by a blue blob at the beggining of your
game, and you're down to about 34 HP. Ouch? So be evasive amongst the
hordes.
That's another thing. 'Hordes', is an understatement. We're talking
half a dozen creeps and thugs clammering all over you. It's ideal to
pick a good spot or corner, and pick them off one by one ... if they
get smart and move 'around' each other, move and find another spot to
snipe. Make sure you have a fast button-jamming finger; eradicating
them doesn't take any dexterity but sheer endurance of the hand.
Gosh, this game has a lot of up and downs.

Ah, Myer. Our hero. Heck, saying -=< 04. The Strengthening of Myer >=-
his name makes me hungry. Oh well.
You know, he kinda looks like one of those old meidival lego men with
those silly hats. What an odd character; it fits that his leveling up is
also an enigma to me, for the most part anyways.
Well? This is what I have come upon ... there are these little heart
container thingies (... cough-cough-Zelda ...), and they raise your
maximum HP by ten. You inevitably die, wander back to the same area,
and they're back again. And the great thing is ... every time you die,
your maximum HP doesn't go back to a hundred. A quick way to
power-statting, no?
As for strength and defense, you're just going to have to buy or find
weapons and armor. That's the only way you're going to improve your
strength and defense.
>-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-< >-<
It's some sort of cross-breed of Final Fantasy's -=< 05. The Menu >=-
menu with Zelda's menu. It contains hit points,
Ludder (the currency), defensive items, offensive items, items in the
backpack and the bells you have aquired. Fairly straightforward; select
items by moving the cursor with the left and right buttons and choosing
them with either the A or B buttons. Exit with the select button.
That's it; nice and simple.

Here's my attempt at describing all the poorly -=< 06. The Items >=-
drawn items strewn across the muddy world of
Deadly Towers. For best comprehension, I suggest you squint really
close and try to guess what I'm talking about. If by any chance I find
any more, I'll be sure to add them next update. If I've made a mistake,
please feel free to e-mail me the correction.

Now this is the hard part of this FAQ ... -=< 07. The Enemies >=-
I will try to use all clarity avalible to me,
however; this is going to be a daunting task since most monsters and
beasts consist of sloppy bits of imaging data. Oh well, here goes.
Heck, all of these just move back-and-forth-back-and-forth anyways;
no real need for a strategy. Just get rid of them fast before they
chuck fireballs at you. Once again, please feel free to tell me if
I am missing anything or anything is incorrect.
