                             1.Introduction

Nintama Rantaro is NHK’s longest running anime series at over 2000 episodes. It
is the second longest running anime of all time after Sazae-san which has been
running since 1969. It began in 1993 and is still being shown to this day. It is
about the daily adventures of the clumsy bespectacled Rantaro as he studies at
an Elementary School for Ninja.

Released on April 21, 2000, it is one of the few games that Culture Brain
released for the N64. They also put out Hamster Monogatari 64 and SD Hiryu no
Ken Densetsu  With three crappy puzzle games to choose from, this has to be one
of the most halfhearted releases on the N64. Game like Superman 64 and MK
Mythologies are certainly atrocious, but there are also dull puzzle games like
this one which could easily be run on the SNES or even NES. Even for a kids game
it is insultingly boring, I think its entertainment value would probably only
last a few hours on a rainy afternoon. I’m surprised that small, low effort
games like this were released on the N64, given Nintendo’s high cartridge
licensing costs. It seems more like PS1 shovel-ware. Just like one it’s
mini-game titles suggest, it “fell and plopped” into video game obscurity like
the hidden turd it is.
