1. Introduction

Introduction
------------
Well I, Jdude84, am back (not that any of you missed me) from my
"vacation" of sorts from writing. Unfortunantly I don't own the game yet, I
just rented it a few days ago, so some sections will remain incomplete for
a while. If you have anything to contribute to the incomplete sections,
that would be appreciated. Also, read section 3 if you are a webmaster or
plan on e-mailing me, thanks.
Since I had no will of finishing this FAQ, I got a fellow FAQ Writer by the
name of Hang Me 2002 to finish it up for me.

Contacting Us
-------------
If you have to contact us for any reason regarding my work or any other
matters, please email Hang Me 2002 or Jdude84 at the emails found at the
top. Note that I do NOT respond to emails with questions already answered
in this file; unless this file is not marked as "FINAL", this file most
likely has any information you may need. Therefore, if you mail me, do not
expect a response; I am busy mostly and I have no time to paraphrase my own
work to help you if you're too lazy to look yourself!
If you have anything to add/contribute to this file, email it to the
address above. If it's of use, I will most likely email you back saying I'm
going to post it, giving you full credit for what I use. Thank you for

Version History
---------------
This section is a helpful reference guide to the status and progression of
this FAQ. It explains what I have done to improve this hopefully, great
FAQ. I decided to put this section at the top of my FAQ to make it easier
on you, the reader, to see what I have fixed a bit quicker and more
convenient.
Version 1.0 - April 23rd, 2000 - First version of this FAQ. Many sections
are incomplete.
Version 2.0 - April 24th, 2000 - Well, only 2 were incomplete. I returned
the game today, but I am working on one
of the two remaining sections. It should
be done in the next update or two.
Version 3.0 - August 10th, 2003 - I never did finish this FAQ, so I handed
it over to Hang Me 2002. He will finish
it for me. Enjoy.
Version 4.0 - August 14th, 2003 - A new format has been added to the guide
and so has alot of new information. The
guide is not quite 100% complete, but
should be very soon.

5. Characters
=============================================================================
Mario
-----
Our merry hero's favorite Item is the Mushroom, of course. He runs like the
dickens and can skillfully master any Mini-Game.
Rating: 8\10 - One of the best!
Luigi
-----
Mario's younger, yet taller, brother is a determined man of many talents.
His Item of choice is the Skeleton Key.
Rating: 8.5\10 - For me, he seems to be better than Mario!
Peach
-----
The lovely Princess Toadstool likes to use the Plunder Chest, revealing her
surprising habit of tricking her opponents.
Rating: 5\10 - As a player, she's simply average. As a computer, she can be
a *****.
Yoshi
-----
The wide-eyed Yoshi is always full of energy. His favorite Item is the Warp
Block, and he apparently likes all-or-nothing competitions.
Rating: 7\10 - Pretty good player, pretty bad AI.
Wario
-----
When it comes to Items, Mario's rival prefers the Dueling Glove. His
cunning is unmatched, and he seems to be a master of the Duel Mini-Games.
Rating: 4\10 - Never really used him, he seemed too horrid as a AI player.
D.K.
----
When it comes to strength, this mighty ape is number one! He clears all
Mini-Games with dominating performances. His favorite Item is the Bowser
Bomb, and he loves Happenings!
Rating: 6\10 - Merely average.
Bowser
------
The king of the koopas, he will take coins, stars, and anything else from
you. He's not in the game as much, this time around though.
Toad
----
Find toad and give him 20 coins to get a shiny star. Finding him is the
whole point of the game.
Baby Bowser
-----------
Land on his space and he'll take 5 coins. He appears a few other times as
well, bringing plenty of mayhem along with him.
Boo
---
Find boo and you can steal coins\stars from your opponents. For a small fee
of course ;)
Koopa
-----
He will occasionally appear and give 10-coin prizes. He also serves as the
guide once in a while.

6. Story
=============================================================================
*****************************************************************************
Note: The story is copied directly from Nemesis' Mario Party 2 FAQ. Nemesis
copied the story from the official Mario Party 2 instruction manual. So
this part is Copyright Nintendo, 2000.
*****************************************************************************
Mario and Luigi, Wario and Peach,
DK and Yoshi all gathered in speech,
sharing their wishes for all they had seen,
saying "Let's make a world built on all of our dreams!"
Combining their talents, they sweated and strained,
completing that world, Mario Land by name...
Alas, but Wario stepped forth and said,
"This world should be named for a Super Star, instead.
"Wario Land is a far better name!"
And so they all argued the depth of their fame.
"Peach Land is better!" and "My name is best!"
Toad could not believe the words of the rest!
But as they debated who was more grand
Bowser invaded that Mario Land!!!
"There's no time to argue and no time to fight!
"The task is before us," Toad said with a fright.
"This land shall be named for the Super Star who
"Defeats Evil Bowser and saves us all, too!"
So Mario and friends, took on this new quest,
To defeat the King Koopa and prove who's the best!
They went deep into space, met ghosts and pirates,
But always on Bowser their keen sights were set.
No adventure more trying, no reward more grand...
So speaks the Legend of Mario Land!

7. Items
=============================================================================
Mushrooms
---------
Use this item to get a red block which you get to hit twice instead of
once. Now you can get up to a "20" roll in a turn.
Golden Mushrooms
----------------
Use this item to get a gold block which you get to hit three times instead
of once. Now you can get up to a "30" roll in a turn.
Skeleton Keys
-------------
Use this to open a locked gate. You can only use it when you are at the
gate. The gate will only stay open for you, so no one can follow you in.
Plunder Chests
--------------
Use this to steal another opponents item. The one item you steal is random,
as you can't choose, so it's wise to use it when they have "good" items.
Warp Blocks
-----------
Use this to switch positions with a random enemy. Useful when you are about
to reach baby bowser, or another unpleasant area.
Dueling Gloves
--------------
Use this to challenge an opponent to a two-player duel battle mini-game.
You _DO_ get to choose the opponent and number of coins to play for,
thankfully.
Magic Lamps
-----------
Use this awesome item to be warped straight to Toad! Obviously, this item
allows you to buy a star even if you are miles away from toad.
Bowser Bombs
------------
I don't really like this item. Use it and bowser will apperar from the baby
bowser location, use a gold block and take coins from anyone he passes! Be
careful...
Bowser Suits
------------
Use this and for one turn, any player you pass, you will steal 20 coins
from them! If everyone is in the same spot, you can make a bundle!
Boo Bells
---------
Use this item and call boo from anywhere on the game board! If you have 50
coins, it's best to use it then! Good for last minute victories!

10. Mini-Game Land
=============================================================================
Wooody
------
You can buy mini-games here to play in the park. Once you buy them all you
get new options like mini-game coaster as well! At the start the games you
can buy are:
-----> 4 Player
-----> 1 VS. 3
-----> 2 VS. 2
After certain tasks are met, i believe you can also buy:
-----> Dueling
-----> Item
There are 65 in all to buy, so it may take a while ;). My advice is to play
in mini-game stadim after it is unlocked. Unfortunantly, I think only about
20 games will be left to buy by the time it is availible.
Mini-Game Park
--------------
You can play mini-games you've bought\recieved here. At the start you can
only play 1 vs. 3, 2 vs. 2, and 4 player mini games. Although I haven't
gotten them yet, i think you can play item, dueling, and other mini games
you buy from woody (after accomplishing certain tasks). This is a good
place to practice.
Mini-Game Stadium
-----------------
Play pure mini-games here! This is a cool place to practice your skill as
well as rack up the coins. The course is a simple figure 8 and plays out
just like the previous one. You can choose 10, 20, or 30 turns. Neither
takes that long though, about 1/2 that of a normal game.
There is another option where you can play to 3,5, or 7 wins. You simply
let a roulette pick, play the game, and repeat this until someone is the
victor. No prizes or coins are awarded though.
Mini-Game Coaster
-----------------
This is availible after you buy all the mini-games first availible to buy.
Complete it to gain new options\mini-games. You can choose from any of the
3 courses, each giving you new options:
-----> Easy Course (3 worlds)
-----> Normal Course (6 worlds)
-----> Hard Course (9 worlds)
Records Bottle
--------------
Here you can see your records on certain mini-games. The games records are
held on are:
-----> Mecha-Marathon
-----> Bobsled Run
-----> Slot Car Derby 1
-----> Slot Car Derby 2
-----> Slot Car Derby 3
Coin Bank
---------
Boring....put your cursor here and you can see how many coins you have. I
just had to cover this though...
