                             1.Introduction

Released on December 2, 1998 in Japan, Mario No Photopi is a photo editing
software suite for the N64. Like Morita Shogi it features a unique oddly shaped
cartridge. The cartridge has two slots for SmartMedia cards in the top, so the
user can import digital photos and other images and transfer them between the
cards.Nine SmartMedia cards were sold separately to use with the game. These
cards contain pre-loaded graphics themed after franchises like The Legend of
Zelda, Yoshi, and Bomberman.

The game was demoed at the PC World Expo in 1998. It is not to be confused with
the similar program on the 64 DD, Mario Artist.

The main menu features a 2d Mario sprite walking around a circular room somewhat
reminiscent of Princess Toadstools castle in Super Mario 64. The game also
features the Wing Cap Mario promotional image from said game on the loading
screens. The music is of a tinny irritating variety similar to the worst tracks
in Yoshi's story.

Due to a limited amount of copies produced it is now a rare game.

On October 10th, 2019 the software was fully translated into English by
Zoinkity.

Here are your options on the main menu, going around clockwise

Service
This is a print center run by Princes Peach. Here you can set up a print job
list. You can then save these lists to the card and then print them using your
computer.

Studio
You can edit your pictures here by first selecting portrait or landscape. You
can then choose the pictures size from Postcard, 3R Print, or other. Then you
can add preset Nintendo frames and stickers, and edit various other colour
settings.

Slides
This is a slide show maker, similar to the one on the gameboy camera.

Gallery
You can view, copy and erase pictures here.

Game
This creates a crappy sliding block puzzle like the one you used to  find in
cereal packets. It uses your photos as a base. It has three levels of
difficulty. The inclusion of this crappy game means it is technically possible
to speedrun Mario No Photopi. Hurray.
