At the main menu, you will see you will have 4 different game modes. Elmo can
climb steps to select each game mode. The game mode Elmo is standing to the
left of will be the game mode that you select. For example, in the layout drawn
below, the star is representing Elmo and you would choose the "plus" option.

This game mode will feature a UFO that flies around a city and leave stars
behind it. Simply count how many stars are there and select that option on the
bottom of the screen. If you select correctly, the UFO will return a building
to the city. If you select incorrectly, Elmo will frown and you can pick again.
There is no failing this game mode as you can guess forever until you pick
correctly. Once you pick 5 correct numbers, you will complete this game mode.
The game will always use the same 5 numbers in the same order as well. The
correct answers will be 2, 9, 4, 7, & 3 respectively.

Choose

This game mode will also feature a UFO that flies while Elmo stands on a
rooftop controlling a spotlight aiming at the sky. The UFO will leave three
sets of stars behind it that can only be seen by shining the spotlight on them.
A sign in the lower right corner will tell you how many stars you are looking
for. Simply move the lever left or right to show how many stars are on that
portion of the screen and select the section of the sky displaying that many
stars. If you select correctly, the UFO will fly by again, leaving more stars.
If you select incorrectly, Elmo will frown and you can pick again. There is no
failing this game mode as you can guess forever until you pick correctly. The
game will be completed when you select the correct amount three times. The
correct answers will be different in every playthrough in this game mode.

Plus

This game mode will feature a rocket ship on the moon. Elmo will fly across the
top of the map and leave a cluster of stars, a plus sign, another cluster of
stars, and an equal sign. You must perform simple math to pick the correct
answer for the total amount of stars. If you answer correctly, the rocket ship
will partially refuel. If you answer incorrectly, Elmo will frown and you can
guess again. There is no failing this game mode as you will have unlimited
guesses until you pass. Once you select the correct answer three times, the
rocket ship will be fully refueled and fly off. The correct answers will be
different in every playthrough in this game mode.
