Intro
Hello and welcome to my Robopon Strategy Guide.
Why did I make this? Mainly because there really
isn't any or enough strategy guides for this game. Also
note that I will more than likely not have any special
sections since this is really designed only for help on
you in the game and this is my first time playing through
so please bear with me if I miss something. You can e-mail
me and I will give you credit. Also this game is (c) 2001 by
me, David Shaw and you must ask me permission to put this FAQ
on your site. Note that I am using only Robopon Sun in this guide.
I don't know what's different in the Star Version and I
don't list items to get in areas unless its necessary to
have it since practically all items are easy to find. Enjoy!

Things you need to know

Robopon can be easily confusing. Here are some Q & A's

1. What do Energy Balls do?
After every battle you get them to put on your Robopon.
E.B.'s make your Robopon evolve. You can check how much
left are needed until they can evolve buy looking at them
under the title screen titled "Robopon"

2. What the heck is [name]vl. 1 for at the store?
Its software. They are sort-of like new moves. Its good
to get a bunch of one move because the more you have of
one the better moves you get.  It is recommended that you
cram as much software into a Robopon before it evolves.
Also its interchangable so you should change software in-between
certain matches with different Robopon types.

3. What do parts do?
Well they're really the major stuff you equip. They determine
your Attack, Defense, Speed, and amount of RAM available for
Software. You can equip them from the Tools menu like with
Software and they can also determine some of your moves.

4. What do the Elite 8 do?
A. If you trade with them in the order the guy told you then
you will get a Golden Sunny.

Carpenter Additions
Just goto Ken any time you want an add-on. Its good to add-on
early. Note that I only show the amount he pays normally, not
when he occaisionally gives you a deal. Another note is that
newer items and parts are available after certain upgrades
and they're not mention because of error to find out until
after I did most upgrades. Please e-mail me if you have that
data.

1st one : 100G
Item Shop gets added to your company. Its next to Ken's place.

2nd one: 200G
Parts Shop gets added to your company. Goto the Item Shop and
up the stairs. They have v2 parts which are good if you buy
the place early on!

3rd one: 300G
Lab opens up. Its upstairs from the Parts shop. You can invest
to make new Robopon and evolve and other neat stuff.

4th one: 400G
An elevator gets added to the building. Convinience! Also your
building looks different and you have a restroom!

5th one: 600G
A pool's added to your building on a new floor, the 6th one.
You can find some items in there if you walk around.

6th one: 800G
A dressing room's added to your building on a new floor, the
7th one and you can talk to the guy. He can make you pay half
off in a store if you choose the left one I believe, very
valuable but to make sure just save before you meet him and
choose until you get the good panel. Also you can find stuff
in the dressers.

7th one: 1200G
The dispatch center is done. Its on the 8th floor. Here you
can dispatch some RoboPon your not using to go on a training
mission to gain levels and get items but if not strong will
return dead. Pretty kewl.

8th one: 1200G
Name shop is open. Here you can change the name of your Robopon.

9th one: 1600G
After this one you get a note from Grandpa about a device in
his lab. Its a remote controlled power-up unit. Its pretty cool
because it gives your Robopon a one-time chance to power up. Every
time you catch a Robopon you should bathe them in it. Press a button
on your remote control and they will get stronger in it. Also a new
floor will be added which will have an arcade. You can find random
items in there. Also your building will be bigger.

10th one: 2400G
You have a new floor which has a conference room.

11th one: 3200G
You have a new floor which is a relaxation room. You can search
it to find a LostCode I believe.

____________
Walkthrough
================================
A. Welcome, our journey begins!
================================
Ok first thing you should do is Set Date/Time then
pick New Game. Things will carry on and you'll gain
control in your company as president with Sunny and
$1000. If you talk to him again he'll heal your Robopon.
Also you should notice a door you can't get into that
will be opened soon and a carpenter and a Robopon that
wants the dream shell. Now leave and go SW to see two
tall houses and pick the south one. In there talk to the
yellow guy, Dr. Disc and he'll give you a Robopon, Viggy.
Go upstairs and talk to that teddy bear thingy and pick a
chest. An EB is short for energyball which you get from each
battle and it makes the Robopon evolve. Sunny is maxed out
though. Now goto the two people blocking an entrance on the
NE part of town. Pick yes and enter you first Robopon battle!
---------------------------------
Trainer: Sean
Robopon: Lv. 4 Stimy
Tactics: Just use Sunny's Fire Fist
---------------------------------
That was simple enough. You can't leave yet because another
member of Bisco's gang is in this town. Go North of Dr. Disc's
house and fight the other gang member.
---------------------------------
Trainer: David
Robopon: Lv. 4 Screwy
Tactics: Use Viggy's NovaHammer
---------------------------------
Now leave Capri Town and goto Libra town to meet Bisco!
=================================
B. The Participation Certificate!
=================================
Buy some Oils and Volts and goto the school which is in
the north part of town. After the talk you can go left to
fight a girl in a battle.
----------------------------------
Trainer: Little Girl
Robopon: Lv. 5 Meddy
Tactics: Meddy's gonna heal like
crazy so you should use some hard-hitting
attacks like Viggy's NovaHammer.
----------------------------------
You can fight over and over with her if you want. Go inside
of the building now and talk to the green guy in the classroom
and he'll give you the stamp card. You must beat all of the
teachers in order to get the certificate. Let's get started.
Also note you should heal repeadetely and gain levels and use
Battle Station 5 which is available in your building too rather
than go from one trainer to next immediately. Here are some of the
non-stamp fights. #1 Go down the stairs next to the girl to
go in the basement and go right and up to fight another girl and
get some RoboPon(Don't get the OTC one's!).
----------------------------------
Trainer: Joker
Robopon: Lv. 6 Chimp
Tactics: You should watch out for the chimp's
rust bomb and use Power Fist(to get it goto the shop
in Tail Castle and buy Power Lv1 and Equip it on Sunny)
and some BackUpBatteries if you get rusted or use
NovaHammer to kill the chimp quicker.
----------------------------------
#2 Go back to basement, go down instead of up and go downstairs.
Go all the way up past intersection then go right and up to fight
a purple guy.
----------------------------------
Trainer: Trouble Maker
Robopon: Lv. 7 Unibot
Tactics: This guy's Robopon is super fast and you should gain
a level or too if your Robopon is at Level 7 to fight this guy.
Just use general tactics and he should be down.
----------------------------------
#3 Go down and left until you can go right and go right then up
then right and up the stairs. Follow the path until you goto a
4-way intersection. Go south then east and fight the purple guy.
----------------------------------
Trainer: Trouble Maker
Robopon: Lv. 6 Rootix
Tactics: Just use Viggy's(or HogBot's) NovaHammer
to make short work of this Robopon
----------------------------------
That's it just train a bit. Viggy should be evolved and
if you got a Sumito it should be a Sumo. Also all of your
RoboPon should be Level 7. Ignore a ladder down on the floor
because it leads to a dead end. When your ready go to the pink
lady on the first floor right under the principal fight the
first teacher.
----------------------------------
Trainer: Health Teacher
Robopon: Lv. 5 Splat
Tactics: Cinch!
----------------------------------
Go up the stairs and talk to the language teacher.
Repeat that also for other teachers.
----------------------------------
Trainer: Language Teacher
Robopon: Lv. 5 Coball
Tactics: This one's a chinch!
----------------------------------
Go up the stairs
----------------------------------
Trainer: English Teacher
Robopon: Lv. 5 Leachy
Tactics: Another cinch!
----------------------------------
Go up the stairs again
----------------------------------
Trainer: Phys-Ed Teacher
Robopon: Lv. 6 Palmer
Tactics: Use your HogBot for another Cinch!
----------------------------------
Again, up the stairs
----------------------------------
Trainer: Civics Teacher
Robopon: Lv. 6 Sumito
Tactics: Another easy one
----------------------------------
Yet again, up the stairs
----------------------------------
Teacher: Math Teacher
Robopon: Lv. 6 Sumito
Tactics: Another easy one
----------------------------------
Last floor!
----------------------------------
Trainer: Science Teacher
Robopon: Lv. 6 Gello
Tactics: Use HogBot's NovaHammer and
if any HP left use Attack.
----------------------------------
Now goto the basement again because that's where
the principal is if you talk with the blue guy where
the principal was. Goto the place I said the dead end
was(in the room with the last person who was on the
south intersection but go north and west in the intersection
then follow the path.) There is where the principal is.
Talk to him and you'll get the participation certificate!
Now its time to go in the Battle Tournament.

=============================
C. Battle Tournament
=============================
You'll have to refight the two when you have the certificate.
You'll have to watch out because they're better.
----------------------------------
Trainer: Sean
Robopon: Lv. 7 Stimy, Lv. 7 Hyme(Evolved Stimy)
Tactics: Use your powerful atttacks
like Sunny's PowerFist(I hope you bought it by
now) or HogBot's NovaHammer.
----------------------------------
The one on the left.
----------------------------------
Trainer: David
Robopon: Lv. 7 Screwy, Lv.  Skulby(Evolved Screwy)
Tactics: Use Sunny's PowerFist
----------------------------------
Now enter. You'll automatically goto the front and fight
Bisco!!!
----------------------------------
Trainer: Bisco
Robopon: Lv. 6 Urchy, Lv. 6 Razor, Lv. 6 Hexbot
Tactics: Kill them all with Sunny's PowerFist.
Watch out for HexBot because he can Bug your
RoboPon.
----------------------------------
You'll beat him then you'll learn about the ranking
book. Talk to the teddy bear thingy and you'll see
that guy that always gives you items. One of them will
make you speed faster. Now goto Tail Castle and goto the
top-right of town and go to the next screen(right of the
guards) and then go in the tent. Go up on the podium and
after the talk fight Bisco yet again.
-----------------------------------
Trainer: Bisco
Robopon: Lv. 6 Urchy, Lv. 6 Razor,Lv. 6 Granit,Lv. 6 Hexbot
Tactics: Watch out because he's stronger. Just use your
strongest attacks. Not that difficult.
-----------------------------------
He'll say he's going to Caleyu to train and Prince Tail
congradulates you and you'll learn about Vanza who's the
Legend 6 one up above you who's now the Legend 7. If you
go on the map you'll see Caleyu so that's where you'll go.
Note that you should train more since the RoboPon here are
at higher levels. You should train with the little girl by
the school since you get 20 XP from her after every win
which is pretty easy now. Also you'll get 50 G too and if
you have the token for half-off its like getting 100 G. Also
you should update your building a bit and use the expedition
to raise some of your Robopon's levels that are not with you.
Just use Battle Genesis 5 to get the dough to pay Ken.

===========================
D. The Broadcast Tower
===========================
When ready goto Caleyu then buy better equipment if needed.
Then goto the small broadcasting tower in the SW part of the
town. Press A on the blue thingy in the north part of the tower.
You'll be warped to somewhere else. Go west and north and east
and you'll fight a trainer.
---------------------------
Trainer: Sara
Robopon: Lv. 10 Tacbot
Tactics: Use your strongest attacks and watch out
for TacBot's promo. You should have good defense
because he'll more than likely attack first.
---------------------------
She'll leave and you can continue on. Go north and use
the teleporter again. You'll be in a house. Do what the
Robopon says and press A up against the empty treasure chest
and turn the TV off and leave. You'll learn about the caves
too and you need a lamp. Hmm? Wasn't there talk about a lamp
guy in Caleyu? Leave and you'll see a new place on the map
for Vanza Village. Go back to Caleyu. Go in the big tower.
Here you'll see 4 people in there looking at the TV. You can
fight them. I'll list them from left to right, the order I
recommend you fight them.
----------------------------
Trainer: Little School Girl
Robopon: Lv. 8 Molbot
Tactics: Just use your strong attacks.
----------------------------
Next one.
----------------------------
Trainer: Elderly Lady
Robopon: Lv. 8 Fetch
Tactics: Again use your strong attacks.
----------------------------
Again.
----------------------------
Trainer: Rock'n'Roller
Robopon: Lv. 8 Gidget
Tactics: Use HogBot's NovaHammer to
make short work.
----------------------------
Last one.
----------------------------
Trainer: Madam
Robopon: Lv. 8 SumiSu
Tactics: Use strong regular attacks.
----------------------------
Go upstairs. On this floor you'll find another
teddy bear thingy. He'll make the gold you get
after a battle 2x more if you pick the best one so
as always with him Save before you go up to him.
Also there are also 4 more people. I will show you
them again from left to right.
----------------------------
Trainer: Rock'n'Roller
Robopon: Lv. 9 Betty
Tactics: Strong attacks.
----------------------------
Next one.
----------------------------
Trainer: White Collar
Robopon: Lv. 9 Loopy
Tactics: Watch out for Loopy's curse.
----------------------------
Again.
----------------------------
Trainer: Young Lady
Robopon: Lv. 9 Rex
Tactics: Again as usual, strong attacks.
----------------------------
Last one on this floor.
----------------------------
Trainer: School Girl
Robopon: Lv. 9 Tacbot
Tactics: You already know what to
do since you already fought a stronger one.
----------------------------
Now leave. In the North Part of town is the lamp shop.
There he'll tell you he'll give you a lamp if you give
him a Sea Grape. Talk to him again. Also in the big part
was just for experience you more than likely needed. So
goto Vanza Village.
==========================
D. Searching the caverns
==========================
Goto the bottom of the village and search around the place
for various items and eventually the Sea Grape. Go to the
lamp shop and trade it for the lamp. Also look for the pearl
which will give you 10,000G if you sell it. That's some serious
clams. Now you can enter the cave. Also you should look around
to find more items in the shallows. Now you can enter the Eraboo
Cave. When you go up you'll see a fork in the road left and right.
There are 2 trainers and two ladders. I'll list the trainers.
Left Trainer.
---------------------------
Trainer: Fisherman
Robopon: Lv. 12 Splat
Tactics: Use regular attacks and watch out
with your Fire Robopon.
---------------------------
Right Trainer.
---------------------------
Trainer: Fisherman
Robopon: Lv. 12 Gello
Tactics: Use regular attacks.
---------------------------
To be continued.
