1. About this Guide
===============================================================================
This guide is solely designed to help people with the new Battle Tower feature
in Pokémon Crystal. It will not cover any other part of the game. If you wish
to find a Walkthrough, Guide or FAQ about Pokémon Crystal, you can find some at
GameFAQs.

November 27, 2001 - Eighth release of the Battle Tower Guide (version 0.8)
- Fixed a few grammar mistakes.
- By now this should be a very complete Battle Tower Guide
for Pokémon Crystal and I don't think theres anything that

3. The Battle Tower
===============================================================================

i) Intro
---------------------------
The Battle Tower in Pokémon Crystal is one of the many new features in the
game. It is located on Route 40, west of Olivine City. In the Japanese version,
the tower was only accessible to people with the Mobile Adapter, but in the
American version, it's opened to everyone. The default levels to battle with
are from 10 to 40, but when you beat the Elite Four, you will be able to battle
with Pokémon from levels 10 to 100.
The Battle Tower is a place where trainers come to battle to test their skills.
In the tower, your only allow to use three Pokémon. The Pokémon you battle with
have to be at the levels you select or below in order to enter. Any Pokémon
with a level higher then the selected option will not be allowed to battle. In
the tower, you will fight a total of seven trainers. After each battle, your
Pokémon will be healed. When you complete the seven battles, you will win a
prize. The prizes are always different after each battle. The prizes you can
win from the tower includes Protein, Carbos, Iron, Calcium, and HP UP.
You can also save in between matches if you want to be on the safe side, but
each time you do, the game will automatically restart. When you play it again,
you'll automatically be forced back into battle.

ii) Rules of the Tower
---------------------------
Since the Battle Tower is like a tournament, there are rules to follow like any
other. Below are a list of the rules for the tower, in order to battle.
1) Items cannot be used in the Battle Tower because it's a test of skills.
2) You also can't have the same three Pokémon in your line up.
3) Each of your Pokémon may not hold the same item.
4) Certain Pokémon have level restrictions.
The following is a list of Pokémon that may not enter unless the level
selected to battle is 70 and over.
- Mewtwo
- Mew
- Lugia
- Ho-oh
- Celebi
An Egg also cannot enter anytime because it's considered as an invalid
Pokémon.

In this section, I will explain to you how to use the table below so you can
understand it easily.

1 - Pokémon's Name: This will identify the Pokémon's that your looking at.
2 - Attack list: This will show you the four attacks that the Pokémon possess.
3 - Item Holding: The "@" sign means holding, so in that example, it would mean
that Exeggutor is holding King's Rock.
4 - Type: This will tell you what the Pokémon's type is.
