Please do not reproduce for profit without my consent. You won't be getting
much profit anyway, but that's not the point. This took time and effort, and
I just wanted to save a memory of an old game and the odd solutions any way I
could. Please send me an email referring to me and this guide by name if
you'd like to post it on your site.

 1. INTRODUCTION

Hello Kitty no Magical Museum(HKMM) is a fairly easy game of 3 sets of 15
puzzles. In it you control gates that switch the direction Hello Kitty goes.
If she runs into one, and she is between intersections, she goes back. If she
hits one at a T, she goes in the direction the arrow is pointing. The same
logic applies to the balls that run after her later. They are lethal. Once
Hello Kitty gets to the ending gate, you have solved the level. Nothing here
is terribly hard as the mazes are all on one screen and 8x8 at that. You may
need to trap balls occasionally or even Hello Kitty, but most levels can be
solved with a few quick button pushes. Once you solve them, you get a new
background picture.

It's surprisingly creative, if not for the puzzles, for the pictures. And
even the puzzles have their moments. You need to reverse reason a lot, and
none can be too complicated, so this is a good game for kids. It took me 2-3
hours to solve the game and write up a FAQ, and it was fun to replay the
levels to make sure I got them. This game is surprisingly simple and pleasing,
sort of like Hello Kitty herself. You'll probably have more fun with it than
the game you usually play to slack off and are sick of. Also, while this game
does not need a translation patch, Doki Doki Translations provided one, so
pick it up to enjoy it more.

 2. CONTROLS

You do not use the arrows in the game. The only trick with the controls is
that you need to push A or B to make the "panel X" marquee disappear and then
to get things going in a level. So push something once, then be ready to push
a button twice if you need to push it quickly. Or push A-A-B if you need to
push both.

A flips the gate orientation and B flips the orientation on the arrows. Hello
Kitty moves as follows:

1. will move to the right at a T, if there is no arrow telling her which way
to go
2. will follow the arrow at a T
3. will reverse in a dead end
4. at a 90 degree bend, will take the turn unless she runs into an arrow
pointing the other way. Then she bounces back.

Balls follow the same logic. They can roll through each other. A ball kills
Hello Kitty if its boundary square overlaps hers, so she can get hit even
though it doesn't look like it.

 3. WALKTHROUGH

The three levels don't seem to vary appreciably in difficulty. The given
walkthroughs should make strategy guides irrelevant. There are only a few
rules.

--useful to flip just before or after Hello Kitty passes
--ditto for balls, to keep them hidden
--Hello Kitty or the balls can be trapped to your advantage. It can disrupt
the usual timing.
--remember the solution should be pretty simple
--work backwards from the end if you can't figure how to get there
--plot out a path at the beginning when the screen is frozen.

Don't bother with perfection, as the game gives no special reward for it.

1-1

Push A to start Hello Kitty. When she goes past the gate, push A and B and
she'll head down when you return.

1-2

Push A to start Hello Kitty, then A again so she bounces right. Push B to
guide her down, then A to open the way.

1-3

Push A and wait.

1-4

Push A and when she's past the first gate, A, B and wait.

1-5

Push A and B so she goes along the bottom. Push A so she goes into the top
left, then A when she is there. That kicks her right.

1-6

Push A when she is just above the left gate. Then push A after she runs to
the right edge.

1-7

Push A to let Hello Kitty pass on the bottom, A when she is by the first gate,
then A for her to go to the UR. Now wait it out.

1-8

After bouncing off the gate above the second time, push B and Hello Kitty
will avoid the ball.

1-9

Push B and when the ball goes down, push B again. Trap it with A. Push A
twice quickly to get to the top and trap the ball off. Push A then B when in
the UR, so Hello Kitty goes down the right.

1-10

Wait, then push B then A when Hello Kitty turns down, just before the final
gate.

1-11

Push A-B so the ball goes to the DR, then trap it. With Hello Kitty between
the gates, push A. Push B and with the ball going down in the UL, push A.
When Hello Kitty returns down the right edge, push A and B and she will exit.

1-12

Push A, then push B. When Hello Kitty goes left, push A. Make sure the ball
is not on the left. Push B and she will bounce off the door to the exit.

1-13

Push A so the ball is trapped on the right and Hello Kitty bounces off the
left. Then push A again when she bounces down.

1-14

Push A when the top ball is above the gate. When near the right gate, push A,
hit the right edge, and push A. When the lower ball is above the next gate,
push A--make sure you are running in the column, so you can run by. Once you
do, A gets you to the exit.

1-15

Push A twice, to get into the DR and blockade yourself there. Push B and then
bounce off the UR of here 3 times before pushing A. That will slow you up
enough to avoid the ball to the left.

2-1

Push A after she passes over the exit. Then push B.

2-2

Push A and Hello Kitty comes back left on the top. Push A and B to loop her
back up.

2-3

Push A to get by the gate and A when beyond it.

2-4

Push B to change the gate's direction and send you to the exit.

2-5

Wait for the ball to bounce against the right. Push A B. Push A B once you
are kicked down to loop to the exit.

2-6

Push A B when you come back right. Then A B once you are going to the corner.

2-7

Push B. Wait for the ball to be near the gate, push A, then push A once it's
past.

2-8

Circle once, push A, then push A when the ball ahead of you almost hits the
gate. Then push A once you are beyond it. You'll go to the exit and the ball
won't.

2-9

Push A to start off. When you are coming back, push A-B quickly in the center
of the way up. Then push A quickly once you turn left.

2-10

Push A right away. Bounce around til the ball is almost back DR. Push A. Then
push A to smack it down, then A once you go back to the top. You're now ahead
of it and can run to the exit.

2-11

Push A quickly. When the ball is in the DL and you're in the UL, push A. When
it is out of the right heading right, push A, as long as you are not heading
right. Push A when in the DL, then push A twice when you leave to make it by
one gate and hit another, then loop into the exit.

2-12

Push A quickly. When by the middle gate on the right, push A and bounce
between the gates. Push B then, when you turn left, push A.

2-13

Push A and B. With the ball in the UR, push A. After turning, quickly A B.

2-14

Push B and wait for the ball to go in the DL. Push A. Push A to let the other
ball in, then push A. Push B and release them from there. Push A to let them
in the UR. Once they are in the UR, push A. Push B-A to go right, then A-B to
go to the DL, then A to trap the enemies out. Once they are on the left, push
A to trap them. Then push B, go along the top and push A.

2-15

A-B quickly. Then A. You will loop in the UL, then go along the top. Push A
just before you get to the edge. If you do it right, the ball goes D U R and
avoids you on the way back left. Push A to bounce yourself to the exit.

3-1

Push A. When you move up, push A again. In the right corner, A again.

3-2

Push A-B quickly when you pass the gate left. A-B again as you go down.

3-3

Push A-B quickly. If it doesn't work, you still can push B the next time. But
you can get it right away. Push B near the end to finish a bit quicker.

3-4

Push A-B quickly. Push B when bounced left, then A. You can push B at your
leisure to win.

3-5

Push A quickly. Wait.

3-6

Push A. Push A-B as you go down. Push B as you go left, then as you go up.

3-7

Push A. Shut the gate behind you. Bounce off it and push A again.

3-8

Push A after the DR ball bounces down. Push A when in the UL. You are trapped
now. Once the second ball touches the exit, and you are going down, push A.
Push A when near the exit.

3-9

Push A-B to go down, A-B to go right, and A-B to go up. This must be done
quickly in succession.

3-10

Push A quickly. When the green is 1L of the exit, push A then push it again
so you bounce up.

3-11

Push A when in the UR. Then push A when you make it to the left edge.

3-12

Push A once you go down the center. Push A-B to bounce the blue ball below
away from you. Then A-B again to exit. You must be quick with this, but it is
simple enough to get with a few tries.

3-13

Push A to bounce up. Push A B on the way down, then A to trap yourself. When
the second blue ball bounces against you, push A then B.

3-14

A-B quickly. Then A-B once you go down. You will make it just ahead of the
ball.

3-15

Push A when in the UL corner.

Once these pictures are complete, you can see everything in the museum, with
information. You already saw the pictures when you saved the game, but I
guess it's fun to see them again.
