Hello everyone, and welcome to my FAQ/Strategy Guide for Harvest Moon 2 GBC! I'm
SuperLuigi and I've written this guide in my spare time to help out fellow players! Have
fun and enjoy!
This guide is my first priority and I'd like to work on this one before I begin
new guides or work on my others. Therefore, I shall do it! I have a reason to play GBC
or GBA games now that I own a Game Boy Advance. As Luigi once said.. Here I go!
*--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*
2. The Game TGM
*--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*
The game is much different, but very similar to the original. It contains all of
the original features of HMGBC, but it has many new tools, more add-ons, and it requires
more time. Add that together with an intriguing and actual storyline, which makes sense,
and you have a winner.
If you found yourself staying up WAY past your bedtime, for hours on end playing
the original, you won't find much of a change with this game. Well, Actually, thats not
true, you'll be playing much longer.
The Graphics haven't changed much, but they still have that nice touch to them,
and this game was designed to be a color game, so more lighting affects and such take
place. The Graphics get an 8/10
The sound is..well.. sound. I prefer to play this game without the sound on.
Don't get me wrong, I love this game, but the sound we could all do without. The Fall
and winter music is a bit addicting, but other than that, the simple sound effects don't
need to be heard with the other season music on. The sound recieves a 5/10.
Control is amazingly easy to learn, with A being your action button, B canceling
things, the control pad moving, the select button bringing up the menu, and the start
button being a quick rotator through your items. You can also hold four items at once,
which is a major plus. The control gets a 10/10.
The storyline recieves a 8/10, for it is simple, but what could you possibly
expect out of a farming game? The game begins with the Mayor deciding what to do with
the old farm. He wants to liven up the city, and he makes the suggestion to convert it
into a snazzy theme park. You (Jack) come into the story and tell him you'll keep the
farm and take care of it. He tells you he'll give you three years to turn it around, and
if you do a good job of it, he'll let you keep the farm. And so you set off to the farm,
to begin on a journey, and while it's not a journey with turn-based combat, and large
monsters, it's one of the best journies anyone could possibly ask for...
*--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*
3. The Controls TCL
*--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*
So you're just starting out, eh? Want to know the controls? Ok, since you chose
not to read the last section, I'll simply repeat myself and go into a little more
detail.

4. Your Farm YFM
*--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*
Your farm is the main setting where the game'll take place. It's where you keep
your cows, sheep, chickens, crops, and where you ship out your goods. I have devised a
little ASCII picture below to show you what your farm'll look like when it's fully
completed, and use the number keys below the picture to navigate and find out what the
things are...

You have your farm memorized, and the controls down, but now that it's time,
you'd like to learn more about how to plant crops. Well lets get the basics down first.
-Crops are planted in a 3x3 Square.
-Crops grow from seeds which can be purchased in the flower shop in town.
-You must water your crops EVERY day or they will not grow.
-The seeds can only be planted on plowed land, which is done with your trusty hoe or
Super hoe.
Ok, when you throw the seeds down, it'll show up a little something like this..
::Cracks fingers:: _ _ _
|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|
We don't want it to stay like this. It's too hard to water, takes too much time,
and you can't even get to the middle one, which may become annoying for you.(It does for
me.) Using a piece of wood from your wood box, place it over the middle bottom piece, or
middle left peice, or middle right piece, etc. Just put it in one of the middle pieces
to make it look a little something like this.. ::tries to cracks fingers, but can't.
Looks around and says what::

|_|_|_| _|_|_| |_|_| |_|_|_|
|_| |_| |_|_|_| |_|_|_| |_|_|_|
Don't worry about the missing crop, this way'll be much easier, at least once
you get your sprinkler and with the time efficency, you can plant more patches of crops,
which is actually bringing in more money than if you didn't do it this way.
*--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*
6. Town TWN
*--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*
You've seen the map, and you have a feel for the game, but now it's time to
learn more about town, it's people, and the things that go on. This section has just
that...
The first shop you'll see when you enter the town is the Flower Shop. Here, you
can purchase seeds to plant in your fields, grass to put in your pastures, or flowers to
grow in your hothouses. The owner is Daisy, who in the Japanese versions was a boy. =\
Next to Daisy's shop, you'll see the church, where you can go to pray when you
feel it's necessary. I don't ever have the time, but I can't speak for you...
Next to church, you'll see the mayor's house, where you'll usually be ending up
going when you talk to him to start a festival.
Directly below the Mayor's house, you'll see Ken's Carpenter shop, where you go
when you're upgrading your farm, or when you're using your little cheat, which you can
learn more about in the cheats section.
To the right of Ken's house, you'll see the hospital, where 'Doctor' lives. His
name has a nice ring to it.. I wish I had that name. Go here when you're sick to become
healed.
To the right of Doctor's hospital, you'll see Bill's tool house, where he comes
up with new fangeled contraptions they didn't have back in the day, which includes a
saddle for your horse, all the way down to a couple of games for your TV. Gee..
South of Bill's tool shop, you'll see Chet's animal shop. Here, he'll sell you
you animals, and tools for them. This is a useful shop.
To the left of Chet's shop, is Rosie's resturaunt, where you're able to buy food
so you don't poop out and become too weak or get sick. Have food and drinks at all
times.
Left of the restuaraunt is the library, where you can link to trade with other
players or where you can look at photos of things you've done throughout the game, and
print them out with the GameBoy Printer Device.
North of town is town hall, where festivals usually take place. You can also
check the bulletin board for messages and game help.
Perhaps the biggest secret (which was intentionally put into the game, I might
add) would be the weather cheat, where you can stop the rain from comming, or the snow
from falling. How do you do this, you ask? Simple. First of all, you can't have every
upgrade in the game.. On any day before it's gonna rain, (except sunday for the shops
are closed) talk to Ken in his shop, and have him write you up an estimate. No matter
what you were told the weather would be, the next day will not have any rain or snow.
-Weather Cheat 2
Now some people want to still be able to use the other weather cheat, but they
are unable to for they have upgraded everything they can possibly upgrade. Here is
another nice method. Check to see if it is raining. When you hear it's gonna rain the
next day, if you've saved the night before, turn off your game, and back on, the same
weather person will say a different thing, instead of inclimate weather conditions,
you'll hear it's gonna be a fine, warm, or sunny day.
Well, this is a good thing for me. These codes (or at least some of them) are
extremely long, meaning if you are a lazy person, you won't have much luck if you don't
like putting in say... 30 rows of numbers for one code. Anyways, enjoy them, and PLEASE
try the game before you use these codes.. It's much easier than you think it is, but
thats not to say it's not challanging.
I'd like to credit these codes to RageWarrior, for he was the ones to create
most of them.

I'd like to give a very special thanks to:
-Andrew Morozin - I wouldn't have known what Harvest Moon is...
-DingoJellyBean - It's 0_o;;
-RageWarrior - Loads-O-GameShark Codes ;-)
I would also like to thank these people as well:
Sonic T Hedgehog
Please do not e-mail those people, asking them any kind of questions. Most of
them contributed only very small amounts of information to the guide and would rather
not be bothered.
Heh, I guess I should give a little thank to Natsume for creating such a wonder-
ful game. Without them, there would be no guide.
I prefer to not recieve loads of questions from you all, asking me about Harvest
Moon. I'm learning, as it's new for all of us, and I'd rather not be bothered at this
time.
DO NOT ASK ME FOR ANY ROMs, any e-mail asking for ROMs will be automatically
deleted by my Mail Client.
