1. INTRODUCTION
Welcome to my Units and Parts FAQ for SD Gundam G-Generation Advance. For
those of you not familiar with it, G-Generation is a long-running series of
strategy RPGs featuring the casts and machines from the highly popular Mobile
Suit Gundam anime. The major difference, however, is that the giant combat
machines that have endeared themselves upon fans worldwide have been reduced
to super-deformed versions of their former selves, with giant heads, squat
bodies, and stubby limbs. G-Generation Advance, the latest game in the
series, marks the first time that characters and scenarios from the latest
series, Gundam SEED, have been included (units have appeared previously in G-
Generation Neo and Monoeye Gundams). Without further ado, here we go!
2. LEGEND
Name: What the unit is called, first in English, then with the Japanese
spelling included afterwards in parenthesis.
Model Number: The official code number for the unit.
Type: Mobile Suit, Mobile Armor, Mobile Fighter, Mobile Doll, even Human
Being in two cases...
Pilot/Captain: Lists any and all major characters that use the unit during a
stage, Pilot for Mobile Suit/etc, Captain for Battleships. Generic pilots
(i.e. Federation Elite Pilot, Zeon Newtype, Mobile Doll System) are not listed.
HP: Hit Points, a measure of the health of a unit.
Attack: How hard the unit's attacks hit.
Defense, Armor: Defense rates how well the unit can avoid attacks (evasion),
while Armor rates how much the damage the unit does take is reduced.
Move: How many spaces the unit can move in one turn. The game uses a hex
map, unlike the square maps used in Final Fantasy Tactics and Front Mission.
Terrain: Shows what kinds of maps the unit can be used on. Earth, Space and
Amphibious are pretty self-explanatory (although Space units can be used inside
colonies). Variable means that the unit can be used on any terrain, but suffers
impairment if used over certain terrain (such as mountains or oceans). All-
Purpose means that the unit can be used anywhere and suffers no impairment
for terrain whatsoever.
Weapon Properties: Each weapon has certain properties that determine what kinds
of special defenses can be used against it. Those types are...
Beam/Solid/Special - All beam weapons are stopped by Beam Coating. Ranged beam
weapons are stopped by I-Fields. All solid weapons are stopped by Phase Shift
Armor. Special weapons, including funnels, incoms and super attacks, cannot be
stopped.
Melee/Ranged - All ranged weapons are stopped by Planet Defensors.
Newtype - The pilot must be a Newtype to use this weapon.
MAP, MAP Only - The weapon can be used to attack enemies that aren't directly
adjacent to the unit. If the weapon is listed as MAP Only, it can't be used to
attack adjacent enemies.
All - The attack damages all enemies in a team, rather than just one.
Damage/Hits: The amount of damage an attack deals, and the number of times it
can hit the enemy in one attack.
Accuracy: A modifier applied to the pilot's relevant stat (Shooting or Melee)
that determines how likely an attack is to hit.
Ammo: The number of uses an attack has. Once all ammo has been used, the
unit must return to a warship to reload. Most melee attacks and anti-aircraft
guns
have unlimited ammo. Some attacks (notably Domon and Touhou Fuhai's special
attacks) use Spirit Points (SP) in lieu of ammunition.
History: A brief description of the unit's role in the game and the series it
comes from. Be warned that there may be plot spoilers lurking within these
descriptions. Also, these blurbs cover the continuity of the game rather than
the anime, so some details will be different from the canon.
Armored MS: Some Mobile Suits can be given an extra layer of armor or
equipment. If the unit is destroyed in combat, it reverts to a less powerful
form rather than being destroyed. However, you lose the part that made the
armored unit and will have to get another one to regain the lost unit. Here
are all the units that have armored forms:

History: Apparently, Bandai thinks they're funny...in the episode of MSG
where Doan appears, his Zaku throws rocks at Amuro's Core Fighter and battles
enemy Zakus barehanded. In an effort to link G-Gundam more closely with the
UC in this game, Doan was given the ability to make his Zaku reach the vaunted
golden Super Mode that only a few rare fighters can achieve.

History: When Amuro's Newtype abilities lead to his burning out the joints of
his Gundam, the Federation used a procedure called magnet coating to solve the
problem. By magnetizing the joints, friction was reduced and the Gundam was
able to function well once more.

History: While pursuing the Apsaras, Shiro Amada's Ground Combat Gundam was
heavily damaged. To put him back in the fight - and to test his loyalty - the
Federation brass had his machine repaired as best they could with limited
parts. The main differences include a stronger antenna and anti-personnel
machineguns in the chest and head.
