[#SHOP]
Shops...if you haven't heard of them, you REALLY ought to leave that computer
of yours. Your house isn't the world...OR IS IT? DUN DUN DUNNNNN!
<_< I can see none of you actually got that. Shops, as boring as they may seem,
sell you some of the most useful items in the game (Not that you NEED them to
progress, but meh).
This Guide is divided into different sections for different types of Shops -
Chip Shops, BugFrag Trade Points, Navi Customizer Shops and Higsby's Chip Order.
And Subchip Shops =o. Can't miss that out.
Each Shop (Yes, even the reeeaaaally long Chip Order Lists) are in the format
shown below:
(The Numbers are for reference. See below for descriptions)
> 1 - Shop Location
This tells you where the shop is located. Unless otherwise specified, the
shop will be located on the Internet.
> 2 - Shop Type
Simple. It tells you what type of shop it is.
> 3 - Chip Number
The number of the chip as listed in the in-game Library and Index in this
Guide. (The S/M/G/Y tags indicate which catagory they're in - Standard,
Mega etc. Search for that number to find the chip in the Shops and Index)
> 4 - Chip Name
The Chip Name. Isn't that hard to remember? Don't search for this. Search
for the Chip Number.
> 5 - Number in Stock
The shop (usually) has a limited supply of chips/NC programs. That's shown
here, and if you buy that amount, the shop will run out of stock
permanently - even starting a new mode (Obviously on the same file) doesn't
re-stock it (But Higsby's Chip Order receives one more chip per "restart").
> 6 - Type of Item
This'll tell you what type of item it is that you're buying - if it's a
chip, then it will be listed as either:
=> STND (Standard Chip)
=> MEGA (MegaChip)
=> GIGA (GigaChip)
=> SCRT (Non-Navi Secret Chips)
If it's anything else, it will either be:
=> SUB1/2/3 (SubChip Type 1, 2 or 3)
=> NCPR (Navi Customizer Program)
=> PWR^ (Power-up)
> 7 - Cost
How much it'll cost obviously - all prices will either be listed as Zenny
(Z) or BugFrags (BF).
* The number of chips in stock for Higsby's Chip Order has been removed, as
there is no defined stock.
** The Index follows a slightly different system - this is explained in Section
I1 - How to Indexify [#INFY]
<|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|>
<| End of Section B: Shops? What Shops? |>
<|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|>
Chip Shops are your average in-town shops. Boring looking Navi Merchants trying
to sell you the strangest of chips...and that Higsby dude. Your typical RPG
Items shop...NOT!
Chips - Vital to Folder Building.
Folder - Vital to Netbattling (Whether 1P or Multiplayer)
Therefore, Shops - Vital to MMBN4!
Here are all of the Shops that trade their awesome (Battle) Chips for your
Zenny. All the shops remain the same in both Red Sun and Blue Moon,
as well as in all difficulties throughout the game.
These shops do NOT restock after you buy the chip, even if you start another
difficulty (As long as it's the same game continued).
You can search for the shops using the search phrases supplied below for each
shop:
Higsby's Shop - <#CHGSY>
ACDC Area 2 - <#CACDC>
Town Area 3 - <#CTOWN>
Netopia Area - <#CAMER>
UnderNet 1 - <#CUND1>
UnderNet 5 - <#CIND5>
<|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|>
<| End of Section C: Chip Shops |>
<|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|>
OH NOES! There are BugFrag Traders and BugFrag Trading Points (Shops) and you
can't get BugFrags by countering the enemy when he attacks! (Like in MMBN3).
What to do?! Stress Stress, Worry Worry.
<_<
>_>
The BugFrag system has been changed - no longer do you get a * (Star) for
each Virus/Navi you counter and delete (Counter being when you hit them just
before they attack - they are stopped, and are paralyzed if you do not kill
them). Now, you get Full Synchro'd with a counter-hit.
Seen those in-battle Green Mystery Datas (GMD)? They break in one hit. Useless.
Or ARE they? If you don't break them in battle (That means no one must hit
the GMD), then you'll get a second item after the battle (Your normal chip/Z
and a second item).
That item can be a chip, more Zenny, or BUGFRAGS! (It depends on the area
you're in. Different areas have different IB-GMDs)
BugFrags are pretty hard to amass. The Undernet areas are a good source of
BugFrags - preferably Underenet 4 or 5.
One of the largest uses for BugFrags - buying items from BugFrag Trading Points
(Shops if you like). A variety of items are offered - NCPs and Chips...even
a Gigachip!
The Gigachip offered by the BugFrag Trading Point in Undernet 4 changes with
the version:
Red Sun - HolyDream [Indicated with a (RS) after the name of the chip]
Blue Moon - Signal Red [Indicated with a (BM) after the name of the chip]
The NCPs have different colours (All this will be covered in detail in Section
E1 - Navi Customizer! [#NCUS]). This is shown by the brackets after the Name
of the NCP - all of them are listed below:
(BLU) = Blue NCP
(PNK) = Pink NCP
(RED) = Red NCP
(WHT) = White NCP
(YLW) = Yellow NCP
There are two BFTPs (BugFrag Trade Points) and their locations are listed below
along with a Tag. Search for the tag to find the shop quickly, or just scroll.
<|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|>
<| End of Section D: BugFrag Trading |>
<|---------------------------------------------------------------------------|>
The Navi Customizer is BAAAAAAAAACK! It's not as cheap with stuff like HubBatch
being downgraded and Programs becoming bigger and so on, but it's still awesome.
You'll get the Navi Customizer from an email from Lan's dad - it contains a
Navi Customizer Tutorial! :<>. Technology in the real world is far behind. He'll
guide you through the NC, and gives you the Navi Customizer - a 4 x 4 grid
where you can fit Navi Customizer Programs in (Like Tetris- without the falling
and the ZOMG STOP STACKING I DUN WANNA LOSE).
With the [_] being the grid and the [>] being the Command Line. What is the
Command Line you ask?
First of all, there are two main types of Navi Customizer Programs - Textured
and Non-textured.
Textured Programs power up some aspect of Megaman (Eg. Buster Damage, or HP).
Non-textured Programs add one (or more) abilities onto Megaman (Eg. AirShoes -
allows you to walk across broken panels, or MegaFolder 1 - which lets you put
1 more Megachip into your Folders).
All Textured Programs have to be off the Command Line, and all non-textured
programs must have a block on the Command Line.
Programs of the same Colour must not touch either, or there'll be a glitch.
For example:
Non-glitched NC
[X][X][X][R] <- Charge MAX (Textured) [X] is off the command line
[_][X][C][C] <- Rapid +1 (Textured) [R] is not Blue or Pink (It's White/Yellow)
[_][C][C][_] <- Custom +1 (Non-Textured) [C] is on the command line
[_][_][C][_]
Glitched NC
[_][S][S][S] <- Shield [S] (Blue + Non-Textured) is off the command line
[H][H][B][B] <- BusterPack [B] (Blue + Nontextured) is next to Shield
[H][B][B][B] <- HP+100 [H] (Textured) is on the command line
[_][B][B][B]
After getting two NC Upgrades, your NC will be enlarged to 5 x 5 (Shown below)
Have fun! There are lots of Navi Customizer Programs - only a few are sold
in NCP Shops and BugFrag Trading Points.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Section E2) Navi Customizer Program Shops [#NCPS]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
:<>. Since Styles have been replaced with Souls, you can no longer get NCPs
from Styles (Or Souls, for that matter). One of your two sources for NCPS will
be from Shops - either these Navi Customizer Program Shops (Zenny - NCP), or
the BugFrag Trading Points (BugFrags - NCP): [#BTRD].
As mentioned in Section E1, Navi Customizer Programs come in many colours.
Each Navi Customizer Program has a colour tag after the name - this is the
colour that the NCP will be.
In the type section, there are two "types" as mentioned before:
Subchips! Another MMBN3 item thingy that carried onto MMBN4!
Subchips are...well..."Subchips". They're "chips" that can't be used in battles
- they work outside battles, and ONLY in the Internet world. (As they have no
effect in the Real World anyway).
There are 3 catargories that Subchips fit into (Not actually listed in the game)
> SubChip Type 1: One use only
> SubChip Type 2: Lasts for a while (Depends on the number of steps you take)
> SubChip Type 3: Lasts until you plug out of the area
You'll see all that later.
If you haven't already noticed, there's a Subchip Menu in the PET Menu - it's
in between "Folder" and "Library". Are you really that blind?
Folder
SUBFOLDER (Contains your Subchips)
Library
Megaman
E-mail
And so on.
You can carry up to 6 types of Subchips (Because there are only 6 <_<), and 4
of each. There are 4 SubMemory PowerUP items in the game - each one lets you
carry an extra Subchip (Meaning you have a cap of 8 Subchips).
Subchips can be picked up (BMD/PMD), or bought from Shops. Don't worry if you
use lots, the Shops have unlimited supply...:<>. ZOMG THEY MAGICALLY APPEAR!
All the Subchips will be shown in this format: (The text in [ ] is just info
on each section. The * in it refer to the footnotes after the template)
Name: [Obvious - it's the name of the Subchip]
Number: [The number that is allocated to each Subchip - Search for these *]
SubChip Type: [The type of Subchip this is. **]
Cost: [In Zenny. You pay this much to buy the SubChip in shops]
In-game Description: [What the game description says]
Description: [My full Description. Quite a bit more detailed than the game one]
* The numbers allocated to the Subchips are as follows:
SC1 - MiniEnergy
SC2 - FullEnergy
SC3 - SneakRun
SC4 - Untrap
SC5 - EnemyLock
SC6 - Unlocker
** There are 3 types of Subchips (according to what it does)
SUB1 (SubChip Type 1) - One use only. It will disappear straight after usage.
SUB2 (SubChip Type 2) - These have a "step-limit" - they will run out after a
certain number of steps, and will have effect until
they run out.
SUB3 (SubChip Type 3) - These SubChips will have effect until you plug out.
Shall we begin? ;_; Don't say "No".
Name: MiniEnergy [MiniEnrg]
Number: SC1
Subchip Type: 1
Cost: 100Z
In-game Description: "Recovered 50HP!" (Horrid English. Blame that company)
Description: Megaman recovers 50HP, and it disappears after usage. It
can only be used outside battles in the Internet World (You don't
even get damage in the Real World <_<.)
Name: FullEnergy [FullEnrg]
Number: SC2
Subchip Type: 1
Cost: 1000Z
In-game Description: "HP fully recovered"
Description: Megaman recovers to full HP, and it disappears after usage. It
can only be used outside battles in the Internet World.
Name: SneakRun
Number: SC3
Subchip Type: 2
Cost: 200Z
In-game Description: "Won't meet weak Viruses for a while"
Description: When used, it will stop Megaman from encountering weaker Viruses.
Certain Viruses that are "stronger" will still be found - it's
useful for finding SP Navis and certain Viruses.
It does NOT stack, and does EXACTLY the same thing as the SneakRun
NCP - but it has a "step" limit. You will be notified when it
wears off.
Name: Untrap
Number: SC4
Subchip Type: 3
Cost: 100Z
In-game Description: "Removes traps on mystery data"
Description: This Subchip is one of the more useful Subchips - it will remove
all "traps" from GMDs - that means they will not contain Viruses
(So you get something from each GMD). It lasts until you plug out.
Yes, as long as you don't plug out, you can "Untrap" every GMD
in ALL the major Internet Areas (Since they are ALL linked).
Name: EnemyLock [LocEnemy]
Number: SC5
Subchip Type: 2
Cost: 10000Z
In-game Description: "Easier to encounter last enemy"
Description: Read the name and take an educated guess. Enemy. Lock. Yes, it does
"lock" onto the enemy and make them easier to encounter. After you
battle a group of Viruses OR a SP Navi, you can use EnemyLock -
this will make the encounter rates for the last Virus(es)/Navi
you fought (and won) much higher. It will wear off after a while,
and will LOSE ITS EFFECT if you PLUG OUT, SAVE or LEAVE THE AREA.
Do NOT save when EnemyLock is active, or if you just fought the
Viruses/Navi you wanted to re-encounter. It will not work.
Name: Unlocker
Number: SC6
Subchip Type: 1
Cost: 4000Z
In-game Description: "Unlock protected mystery data"
Description: If you've ever tried picking up a Purple Mystery Data, you'll get
a message saying it's locked. Locked, Unlocker. If you still have
not figured it out yet, then...YOU'RE LAEM.
Stand and face a PMD (Purple Mystery Data), then GO TO YOUR PET
menu. Examining the PMD doesn't do much. Select the Unlocker
Subchip and you will automatically unlock the PMD and get the item.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Section F3) Them Subchip Shops! [#SUBH]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Subchip Shops are the only place you can get Subchips (Except for a rare few
BMDs). Better know where at least two of the shops are - each shop only sells
3 types of Subchips (And there are 6 Subchips. Do the Math.)
Each Shop is listed like all the other shops, but slightly different.
There is a (RW) or a (IW) tag after the location of the shop:
(RW) = Real World - this Subchip shop is located in the real world (Talk to a
scientist type person)
(IW) = Internet World - these shops are located in the Internet world. It's a
Navi behind a counter. Always. (Since there IS only one IW shop)
The SubChip has a NUMBER - SC# (# being the number allocated - 1-6). Refer to
the Subchip Effects for the number and the effects of the Subchip.
The Type of Subchip will either be SUB1, SUB2 or SUB3. This stands for:
Subchip Type 1/2/3 (Refer to the Subchip section again).
Please search for the Shop using the Tags assigned to each shop.

/// Section G ///
/// Chip Order System ///
///--------------------------///
[#CORS]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Section G1) What is Chip Order? [#COSW]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Higsby's Chip Order - one of the most useful and effective systems for getting
chips, recycling chips and getting chips in a specific code. How? Read on now!
Higsby's Chip Order basically consists of the chips you put into a Chip Trader.
If you were to put an Airshot into the Chip Trader, Higsby's Chip Order will
have an extra Airshot in stock.
However, this Airshot may come in a different code to the one you handed in.
The code for Chip Order is fixed - you can only get a certain code for each
chip in Chip Order. All of these are listed in the tables in the next section.
Higsby has one of each Chip in stock...once you get the Library data. This can
be done by getting the Chip using PreCon Folders (The premade ones that can't
be altered), getting the actual chip, or LIBRARY COMPARE. Once you Library
Compare, you are allowed to buy that chip from Higsby's Chip Order.
Standard Chips, Megachips and Secret Chips can all be bought from the Chip
Order System. When you put a chip into the Chip Trader, it is added to the
stock (Bringing it up to 2). You can do this infinitely if you want.
However, there are a few chips that are NOT stocked originally (Meaning you
have to stick this chip into the Chip Traders first):
Gigachips. All 10 (From both Red Sun and Blue Moon)
Secret Chips: Z-Saber and Gun Del Sol EX
That means Library Compare will not get you it either.
Enough talk. LIST TIME!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Section G2) Chip Order: Standard Chips [#COST]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All the Standard Chips: Search for the FULL NAME (Not the shortened, 8 letter
ones. The names should be obvious), or the Chip Number (Add a "S" before the
number as listed in the Library - eg. S100 is Timpani).
Yay. All the Megachips that are listed in the Megachip section of the Library
(Mega-class Secret Chips are in the Secret Chips section).
***
ALL the Navis have been listed in this section, and the list is in this order:
Megachips (Normal, Non-Navi)
Red Sun Navi Chips (They're secret chips with the same # in Blue Moon)
Blue Moon Navi Chips (Secret chips with the same # in Red Sun)
Shared Navi chips (Shared Navis for both versions)
Search for the FULL NAME (Not the shortened, 8 letter ones. The names should be
obvious), or the Chip Number. There are different letters in front of the
chip -
M - Shared Megachips, whether they are Navis or not.
Example: M002 = NeoVariable, and M040 = BurnerMan
RS - Red Sun Navi chips - (They're in Blue Moon as Secret Chips). REMOVE the
FIRST ZERO in the Library Listing Number when searching (Which makes the number
2 digits instead of 3) and add a "RS" to the front of the Number.
Example: RS19 = Roll, and RS34 = ThunderMan
BM - Blue Moon Navi chips - (They're Red Sun Secret Chips). REMOVE the FIRST
ZERO in the Library Number when searching and add a "BM" to the front of the #
Example: BM22 = NumberMan, BM31 = AquaMan

These are all the non-Navi Secret Chips - the Navis are in the Megachips
section.
There are no numbers for Secret Chips, so please try to search for the Name
(Or scroll down). There are numbers that you can use if you remember them, but
that's it.
Add a "Y" to the number of the chip - eg. Y006 = GutsPunch 3.

[#EXII]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Section H1) History [#EXHS]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Version 1.1 (July 13, 2004): Changed all names to those of the NA version
(Except for Burnerman. Burnman is just stupid :/).
Version 1.0 (June 2, 2004): The first finished version. Yay. Maybe a few
glitches or names needing changes. Later.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Section H2) Special Thanks [#EXST]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Some thanks to people. If I've missed you out, don't complain. Just ask me
to add you in (If you actually do anything is a different story).
Nintendo: Creating GBA/Game Boy Advance! Best. Handheld. EVAR...until N-DS
comes out =P. Still Nintendo.
Capcom Japan: For making Rockman EXE 4 Tournament: Red Sun/Blue Moon, the 4th
game in the RockMan EXE series. Not my favorite, but still good.
Capcom NA: For releasing RMEXE4 in English as Megaman Battle Network 4: Red
Sun/Blue Moon. The traslation is probably blotchy, but never mind.
GameFAQs Megaman Battle Network 4 Message Boards users: Quite a lot. Not
listing any of you =o.
CJayC: For accepting and posting this guide at GameFAQs, as well as creating
GameFAQs in the first place.
Rockman EXE 4 Red Sun/Blue Moon Battle Master Strategy Guide - Providing some
useful information.
Magenta Galaxy: They're his section headers! I just borrowed them =o.
This FAQ belongs to: Brian Fong (The Dark Unknown). Copyright 2004. If I see
anything that looks suspiciously like plagerism, I WILL take action. You will
receive one of the following:
- Get sued in court (If I happen to have enough money to sue you)
- Burn you alive in some Shopping Mall. Whatever. To make an impression.
- Stab you repeatedly until you BLEED to death. No easy death for j00.
The only place I have placed this FAQ is: GameFAQs (GameFAQs.com). And it has
my name(s) on it.

Section H4) Contact Me [#EXCU]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well...look what we have here. A stray FAQ reader! =o. Unless, of course, you
were directed to this section BEFORE READING THE GUIDE! :<>.
If you have a strange desire to contact me, do so...as long as you're not too
weird. =P.
Here are some things you should/should not say when trying to contact me:
|-> Do <-|
- Tell me if there are any errors in the guide.
- Give me advice on how to improve the guide. NICELY. No flaming.
- Give constructive critism (Same thing, but for you ignorant people...)
|-> Don't <-|
- Start insulting me, my work and anything else in general
- Don't annoy me without REALLY good reason (Better not at all)
- Write anything looking REMOTELY like: omg lolol ur guied suxx. After I finish
flaming you, I will post the convo/email on the Boards so that you can be
ridiculed further. Just don't bother.
If you want to use this guide anywhere else but: GameFAQs (GameFAQs.com), then
email me for permission. I might say Yes, especially if it's for a good cause
and you ask, and ask nicely.

/// Section I ///
/// THE Index ///
///------------------------///
[#INDX]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Section I1) How to INDEXIFY! [#INDY]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Index. The final section! Yay!
The index is simple to use. Basically, it lists all the chips with a number
to search for in this Guide, the chip codes that the chip has, and any shops
that sell it (Aside from Higsby's Chip Order).
Chip # - The number listed in the Library (With a letter or two to make
searching easier)
Name of Chip - Obvious. The whole chip name is used, and not the short one.
Chip Codes - The codes that the chip comes in.
Shop Stock - Search for the tags in this bit to find the Chip in shops other
than Higsby's Chip Order.
Each Section has instructions, so read them too (Skim read if you're lazy).
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Section I2) Standard Chips [#INST]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: Higsby's Chip Order System sells ALL of these chips, so it has not been
listed. Refer to Section G: Chip Order System [#CORS] for information.
Search for the Shop Stock Tags to find the chip in shops OTHER than Higsby's
Chip Order. Search for the Chip # to find the Chips in the Chip Order list.
NOTE: Higsby's Chip Order System sells ALL of these chips, so it has not been
listed. Refer to Section G: Chip Order System [#CORS] for information.
The Red Sun and Blue Moon Navi chips have NOT been listed (That explains the
number jump from M018 to M037). These are in the Red Sun and Blue Moon Navi
Chip sections.
Search for the Shop Stock Tags to find the chip in shops OTHER than Higsby's
Chip Order. Search for the Chip # to find the Chips in the Chip Order list.
