Oh...well, I'll just skip to the line where I ask you if you are a
boy or a girl...What?? He asked you that too? Dratted professor, he
took all my good line @_@. But seriously now, the guide it devoted to
the little black box sitting in many people's houses...the telly! Here
in the guide, I will tell you what TV programs there are, how to get
them, and other little tidbits about the TV which you can find! This
has nothing to do with the game and offers no help, so if it's not
what you are looking for click the back button on your browser now.
This Guide also doesn't have many Spoilers, just one about Latias/os
but you'll be warned when you read up till that point.

Well, to answer the question, if you look in every other house you
will find a TV. Usually, when you go up to a TV it will say either
"Mom would like this program.............." or "Dad would like this
program..........." or in your house there will be a movie. But, when
you complete a special event, a TV in a house OTHER than yours will
flash. This is what is considered a TV program. There is only ONE
TV program in your house, mentioned later. Usually, a reporter will
talk to you and ask if you would like to be interviewed. Sometimes
it can get tiring and it will always be the same things in it except
some things like your Pokemon and phrase, but that will be mentioned
later.

Here is a quick list of all the programs that I have found in the
game and how to obtain them. There will be descriptions in the next
section.
The World of Masters
--------------------
In order to see this show, you MUST mix records with a friend that
has caught at least 5 Pokemon in one day.
Today's Smart Shopper
--------------------
To get this, you must buy at least 10 of any item at any store at one
time, then mix records with a friend.
In Search of Trainers Versions
--------------------
Fight the news reporters. They can be found in the route above
Mauville, the rought east of Mauville, and east of Fortree. They're
not hard to spot really, there are 3-4 different versions.
To get Version 1-Battle Gabby and Ty and win without using any items
or taking any damage.
To get Version 2-Battle Gabby and Ty. Use ONE item that's not
a kind of Revive, then defeat them.
To get Version 3-Battle Gabby and Ty and one or more of your Pokemon
faint, OR you use 2 or more items.
Pokemon News Versions 1-7
--------------------
Pokemon News are random events. They always start out Greetings!
It's time for POKEMON NEWS! and ends That's the news in
POKEMON NEWS...It's actually quite repetitive, but it has useful
information that you should watch, like sales and outbreaks. BTW,
THE SALES ARE RANDOM EVENTS, I TELL YA!!! RANDOM! RANDOM!! RANDOM!!!
..except for Version 7, in which you activate after beating the
Elite 4.
Ok, so now that that's said, please stop E-mailing me about that.
Recent Happenings

You can get this by talking to a man in Slateport City.
Pokemon Angler
--------------------
I'm not really sure about this one. You get this by mixing records
with your friend. It's kinda random. It shows tells about the first
Pokemon you ever caught by fishing.
We Are the Pokemon Fan Club! Versions 1-2
--------------------
In Slateport's Fan club, there's sometimes a reporter at the left
side of the room. Talk to him and he will interview you about
the first Pokemon in your party. There are two versions, the first
one you get by having a normal Pokemon, the second one is by
nicknaming the first Pokemon in your party.
Bravo Trainer Version 1-2
--------------------
You can get this by mixing records with a friend who recently
won a contest in any rank, or by winning one yourself and talking
to the reporter right next to the door in the contest house. You
can get another version by winning 7 wins or more in the Battle
Tower.
The Name Rater Show
--------------------
Just get a nickname at the Name Rater's house in Slateport. There
will be a show on your nickname given automatically. After some
research, I have finally concluded that the version you get depends
on IVs, which is are 6 hidden values (1 for each stat) that are
determined when you catch the Pokemon, and there's no way you can
change it. So, each time you change a Pokemon's nickname, you will
get the same version as before. I have no gottne 5 different versions!

Dewford's What's Hot
--------------------
You sometimes get this show when you change Dewford City's hot phrase.
Pokemon Today
--------------------
You get this by throwing some Pokeballs and not catching it, then
making it faint and mix records.

[(3.1) How do you mix records and what are they?]

ID cards, also known as Trainer Cards is your profile. If you look
in your game and press start, go to your name. That is your trainer/
ID card. Press A a few times and see what your have. And there you go,
one question answered.
I keep getting this question, and that is How do you mix records? I
thought that this would be better in its own section so here
it is. To mix records, go to a Pokemon Center and go to the
second floor. All the way to the right, you will see a lady. Talk to
her with a friend at the same time and confirm that you want to mix
records. You go into a room with four seats. You and each one of
your friends can sit in a seat and once they all are, you start
mixing! You can do this with 2-4 people.

Well, it does a lot to your game.
(A) New TV Shows
-----------------
You can get new TV shows by mixing with your friends. Some
things are funny, I haven't gotten most of the things here because I
swapped Cards with my friend before writing the FAQ. Once, my friend
got a show that said the most Pokemon caught in one day, the amount of
steps I took and the last Pokemon I caught during that day!
(B) Secret Base
---------------
Another feature is that if your friend has a secret base, you can find
it in your game! Just go to their secret base and they will be there as
a Bug Catcher, Youngster(That's me...sadly), Cooltrainer, Rich Boy, or
Camper if they are male and if they are female, then they will be there
as a Lass, School Kid, Lady, Picknicker or Cooltrainer. How it is chosen
I think is the end of your ID number You can go on the computer and register
their base.
Step 1:
From our Trainer's ID, we'll use the Trainer no, Tno, to solve for the unknown
Hideout Trainer, uht. Uht may range from 0 to 255. First, we'll use this list:
If uht ends in:
0 or 5 = Youngster/Lass
1 or 6 = Bug Catcher/School Kid
2 or 7 = Rich Boy/Lady
3 or 8 = Camper/Picnicker
4 or 9 = Cooltrainer (m/f)
Step 2:
Get your Tno and divide it by 256. Why 256? Because there are 256 values for
uht, ranging from 0 to 255. Get it? (Tno/256)
Ex: Tno: 09944
-- Since there is a zero at the beginning, there is no need to use it in the
computation.
9944 / 256 = 38.84375
Step 3:
38.84375 is the quotient which we will use as Q. From Q, remove the decimal
places and multiply it by 256. (Q*256)
Ex: 38 * 256 = 9728
Step 4:
The result now is the product which is P. Now subtract P from Tno. The result
is uht! (Tno - P = uht)
Ex: 9944 - 9728 = 216
Step 5:
Finally, use the list I provided in Step 1. Our resulting uht ends in 6. If
your trainer is male, it's a BUG CATCHER! If it's female, it's a SCHOOL KID!

If you have beaten the Elite Four, then you will be able to battle their
Pokemon by talking to them. The Pokemon they battle with are the Pokemon
in their party when you mixed records. You also get a little bit of money
from them and experience. It's a great way to train Pokemon.
You will get each Secret Base that your friend has on his/her game that
were obtained by mixing records. Once your friend moves his/her secret
base, the one in yours will move too the next time you mix records. You
can have one Secret Base in your game per Trainer ID. When you find your
friend's secret base and press A on their computer, there will be a choice
to register their secret base. Registering a secret base will make so that
when you mix records with someone who has a secret base on the same spot
on one of yours, then one registered will stay. Usually, the one existing
would disappear.
(C) The Weird Mauville People
-----------------------------
In the Mauville City Pokemon Center, there will be a strange man that sits
on a seat to the left of the nurse. They vary from game to game, and each is
a different color. There are a few that I know of, and here's a list of them:
Blue(Bard)
This person is name Bard, he sings useless songs. Each time you mix records
and get him, you can change one word that he says. He's really useless.
Pink(Storyteller)
This is the storyteller, he tells you stories of the people who mixed records
with you and talked to him. Each time you mix records and get him, if you
are not recorded in his stories, he will add a new one about something you
did. The stories he adds are random from what I know. The most that you can
get are 4 legends. If you mix records after that and get him, you won'te get
a new legend. Here are some stories that I know:
The Save Happy Trainer
This records the most amount of saves.
The Ledge-Jumping Trainer
This records how many ledges you jumped
The Bike Loving Trainer
This records how many times you switched bikes.
The Avid Pokedex Reader
This records the number of times you checked your Pokedex.
The Contest Loving Trainer
This records the number of times you entered a contest.
The Interviewed Trainer
The number of times you were interviewed.
The Pokemon catching Trainer
The number of times you caught a Pokemon in the wild.
The Homebody Trainer
The number of times you rested at your home.
The Eggwarming Trainer
How many times you hatched an egg.
The Berryplanting Trainer
Records the number of times you planted a berry.
The Spa Loving Trainer
Records the number of times you went into the spa.
The Happy Shopper
Records number of times you bought items in shops.
The Fishing Trainer
Records how many Pokemon you have caught by fishing.
The Contest Master
Records how many times you won a contest
The Legendary TV Viewer
How many times you viewed a TV.
The Rock Smashing Trainer
How many times you smashed a rock
The Ribbon Collector

This is the item trader. He will start off with three items. Each time you
mix records, you can trade one secret base item for one of his. He will
then have your item. This can also be a way to trade secret base items
with your friends.
Brown(Giddy)
This guy's name is Giddy. I don't know much about him, I just mixed
records twice with my friend so I had him and left and forgot about
him until I was informed from someone. He says weird things like,
"Solarbeam is so funny, don't you agree?" and things like that. I
think he used two random words from your vocabulary. Giddy adds
phrases to your vocabulary.
Red(The Hipster)
This person tells you what is "Hip and happening". He adds phrases
to your vocabulary. Similar to Giddy I guess.
(D) Battle Tower
----------------
If the friend that you mixed records with went to the Battle Tower,
you will battle with them on the level that they lost in! They will
have their team of 3 Pokemon, their Battle Tower saying, and all the
qualities that their Pokemon have(shiny, nickname, etc.)
(E) Dewford's What's Hot
------------------------
Whatever your Dewford's What's Hot Phrase was before will be changed
to your friend's. His name will also pop up a lot throughout many
TV shows and other places like the Fan Club in Lilycove.
