4. Why Catch Any Of The Regi's?
===============================
You might be wondering "why would I want to catch any of the Regi's?". Here
are some reasons:
* To complete your Pokedex
* Because they look cool :)
* They are found on Lv.40, so they are reasonably strong and have decent
moves.
* If you decide raise their levels, then you have yourself some strong
Pokemon!
========================================
5. What You Will Need On Your Mini-Quest
========================================
Here is a list of what you will need on your mini-quest to find, and
hopefully capture the three Regi Pokemon:
* Relicanth (can be found on Route 124, Route 125, Route 126 and Shoal Cave -
only on the ocean floor)
* Wailord (catch a Wailmer on Route 103, Route 105, Route 106, Route 107,
Route 108, Route 109, Route 110, Route 115, Route 122, , Route 123,
Route 124, Route 125, Route 126, Route 127, Route 128, Route 129, Route
130, Route 131, Route 132, Route 133, Route 134, Island Cave, Dewford Town,
Slateport City, Cycling Road, Mt. Pyre, Lilycove City, Mossdeep City, Shoal
Cave, Seafloor Cavern, Mirage Island, Pacificdlog Town and Ever Grande
City - all by fishing). You will need to raise Wailmer to Lv.40 so it
evolves into Wailord. Or you can try to find a Wailord by surfing along
Route 129.
* A Pokemon which knows Surf
* A Pokemon which knows Dive
* A Pokemon which knows Dig
* A Pokemon which knows Fly
* Poke Balls to catch them in (try to have about 5 - 10 of nearly every sort.
Sometimes they will resist but if your persistent and patient, you will
catch hopefully all of them).
* Pokemon to battle the three Regi's.
* Knowledge of Braille. You can look in the next section to get familiar with
the Braille alphabet, or you can just read the guide which has everything
translated from Braille to English.
Note: For info on what types are good against the Regi's, look near the
bottom of this FAQ.
================
6. Braille Chart
================
At certain parts of your mini-quest you will encounter Braille inscriptions.
To many, they will just seem like dots on the wall, but they have a meaning
behind them. Braille is represented in two vertical lines of three dots. A
"shaded" dot will be represented as "O", whereas "unshaded" dots will be
represented as ".". Listed here is the Braille alphabet. It is fairly easy to
understand once you have looked at it, then at some of the Braille
inscriptions in the game.

====================================================
7. How To Open The Doors To The Three Regi Locations
====================================================
OK, when you have the above you can start. First off make your way to
Pacifidlog Town (if your not already there) and surf to the west. You'll
encounter lots of water with a strong current here which will carry you in
one direction and you won't be able to move, so where you choose to surf is
important. Go to the bottom of the screen and find the part of water which
looks like this:
~~~~~~~~~~~ |__ ~~~~~~ = Strong Current
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |__
~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ____| |___ = Border between Water and Strong Current
~~~~~~~~~~ __| (Water is on the right, Strong Current
~~~~~ ____| is on the left)
~~~~ |x_
~~~~~~~ |__ _._ (0) = Small Rock
~~~~~~_____| | |
____| (0) |___| x = Where you start Surfing
(0)
Sorry if you can't understand the pictures! If you need a better understanding
of the pictures, email me at
[email protected].
When the current stops taking you, you will land on a little island where a
karate guy will be. Walk straight up from here, then left to the top right
corner of the little island. You should be standing in shallow water, and it
should look like this:
_____________
~~~~~~~~~ __|x _______
~~~~~~~ __| | _._ | _._
~~~~~ __| | | | |__ | |
~~~ __| __| |___| __ |___| = Big Rock
~~ | .-. | |
From the "x", surf left. When you stop, walk down a little, then walk to the
left as far as you can go. Once again, you should be standing in shallow
water and it should resemble this:
______________
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
~~ __________________________|
~~~ |x __________________________
~~~~ | | |
~~~~~ | | -Surfable Water- |
~~~~~~ | | |
From the "x", surf to the left. You will know you are on the right track if
you are taken around an area that is surrounded by rocks. Still surfing, surf
up to the two girls then continue left till you start to walk. Walk around all
the rocks until you get to the bottom left corner of this island which should
look like:
~ | (0) |___|
~ |
~ |____ _._
~~~~~~ | | | (0) ___
~~~~~~ |__ |___| ____| ~~~
~~~~~~~~~ |__ __| ~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~ |x___________| ~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-Surfable Water- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From here surf left. When you land walk straight across and surf again until
you come across a dark blue patch of water (don't suff too quickly or you
might miss it!) which you can use dive on. It should look like this:
_._ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ _._
| | ~~~~__________~~~~ | |
|___| __| ______ |__ |___|
~~~~~ | __| ____ |__ | ~~~~~
~~~~~ | | | x | | | ~~~~~ x = Where you Dive.
~~~~~ | |__ |____| __| | ~~~~~
~~~~~ |__ |______| __| ~~~~~
_._ ~~~ |__________| ~~~ _._
| | ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ | |
|___| ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |___|
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's this picture explained from the middle: The middle is where you Dive,
the two outer areas around the Dive area is just Surfable water.
Once underwater, enter the cave. Go down until you get to a part where there
is a rock in the middle of the water with dots on it. This is Braille. The
inscription here says "Go up here." Now dive back up to the surface.
You should come across a whole heap of rocks with Braille inscriptions. The
long rocks have letters of the alphabet on them, while the two smaller rocks
have a comma (,) and a period (.) on them. Walk up the back and read what the
inscription says: "Dig here." Use dig, then enter the newly made entrance.
There are seven rocks in this room (or four rows). We will call the closest
rocks to when you walk in Row One, and so on.
This is what each rock says:
Row One, Left Rock - "Those With Courage, Those With Hope."
Row One, Right Rock - "Open A Door. An Eternal Pokemon Awaits."
Row Two, Left Rock - "But, We Sealed The Pokemon Away."
Row Two, Right Rock - "We Feared It."
Row Three, Left Rock - "In This Cave We Have Lived."
Row Three, Right Rock - "We Owe All To The Pokemon."
You will now come across a rock at the back of the cave which is in the
middle. If you read the inscription here it says:
"First Comes Relicanth. Last Comes Wailord." If you haven't already done so,
swap your pokémon so Relicanth is in position one and Wailord is in position
six of your party. Now press on the inscription. If done correctly you should
hear what sounds like an earthquake. Then you should hear the sound of three
doors opening, each one to a different Regi Pokémon!
Note: For the guide, I have written how to catch the pokemon in a different
order to their corresponding pokemon number, if you were wondering why they
are listed in a different order from the pokemon information to the guide.
I.e. Regirock is 193, Regice is 194 and Registeel is 195. In the guide I have
chosen to write them in the order as Regice, Registeel and Regirock.
=================================
8. Where To Find The Three Regi's
=================================
------
Regice
------
After you have opened the doors correctly, leave the cave and fly to Dewford
Town. From Dewford Town, go up then surf left and up to a little island with
trees and a man on it. Go to the left of this island then continue up to an
island with a little mountain surrounded by rocks. Enter here and press on the
Braille inscription which reads:
"Stop and wait. Wait for time to pass twice." After roughly two minutes there
should now be a door right in front of you! Walk in and prepare for a battle
with Regice!
---------
Registeel
---------
After you have either caught or defeated Regice, leave the cave and fly to
Lilycove City and head left to the Safari Zone. Don't enter the Safari Zone,
but continue left on Route 120. You should see some steps ahead of you. Go
up them and continue up through the very tall thick grass (the grass that you
can't ride your bike through). Continue up more steps and enter the cave. Walk
up to the inscription on the wall. It reads:
"With new time, hope and love, aim to the sky in the middle." Now walk to the
middle of the room and use fly! Now there should be a new door which you can
enter to battle Registeel!
--------
Regirock
--------
After Registeel comes the last of the three Regi's - Regirock. You need to
now fly to Mauville City. After landing head up on Route 111 and don't stop
until you come to the desert (the desert you couldn't enter unless you have
the Go-Goggles). Enter into the desert and make your way to the very bottom
right corner of the desert. This is where you will find the last of the
ancient tombs. Enter and as usual walk up to the back of the room to the
Braille inscription. This one says:
"Right, right, down, down. Then, use strength." From the inscription go two
steps right and to steps down, then use strength. The entrance will now open!

9. Basic Battle Strategy To Help You Catch The Three Regi's
===========================================================
A basic guide to catching the three Regi's would be:
1) Make sure which ever Pokemon's HP you are battling is nearly all gone.
(look below a little bit for a quick guide of what is good aginst Ice,
Steel and Rock pokémon)
2) Use a move that will put the Pokemon to sleep (or switch to one that
knows how to - you could possibly use the Relicanth that you needed to
open the doors to the Regi locations because it knows Yawn, which will put
the pokemon you are battling to sleep after two turns). That's It!
Its basically trial and error in regards to what balls will catch the
Regi's. Try as many different types of poke balls except DON'T use a Master
Ball unless you feel like it's necessary (it would just be a waste) or you
happen to have spare ones. The main thing to remember is to be PERSISTENT and
PATIENT!!
For example:
On Regice I used a Luxury Ball.
On Registeel I used a Net Ball and
on Regirock I used a Great Ball.
If you don't want to catch any of the three Regi's, just simply follow this
quick guide:
ICE is weak against FIRE, FIGHTING, (STEEL???) and ROCK types.
STEEL is weak against FIRE, FIGHTING and GROUND types.
ROCK is weak against WATER, GRASS, ICE, STEEL, FIGHTING and GROUND types.
