PE01. Introduction
------------------
This is my first FAQ, and I know I'm going to be leaving a lot of
things out. However, there are several other things on GameFAQs that
will help out what Ididn't put in. That being said, I hope this will
help out anyone playing. Imade this FAQ because the others aren't
completed at the time of doing this, so I wanted to have something
that would at least have a finished walkthrough.
PE02. Version History
---------------------
v .03 (6.8.05) - I corrected a few things concerning three people in
Hoenn that give you berries, and fixed a minor spelling error in the
PokeDex. I also decided to take out the Items section, since there's
already one, and will add all the entries I have in my PokeNav.
V .02 (6.7.05) - Finished the formatting of the guide. Used the Hoenn
Pokedex for this guide, since it was rejected for submission on
GameFAQs. :P I've taken out the Items section to be worked on
separately.
v .01 (6.4.05) - Completed the walkthrough. Still working on the
Items, Mini Games, and PokeDex sections. I stared up with the Battle
Frontier part of the game, and so I have the National Pokedex...so I
have to keep working on the Dex.

BIRCH will introduce you to the world of Pokemon. After some words from
BIRCH, he will ask who your character's gender will be (Boy or Girl,)
then you enter your name.
PEW02. Littleroot Town
You will start the game on a truck. After it stops, you arrive at your
house with your mom waiting. Depending on which gender you chose, the
left house will be for the Boy, and the right will be for the Girl. If
you chose Boy, your rival will be in the right house; if you chose
Girl, your rival will be in the left house. Your mom greets you and
tells you to set the clock in your room upstairs. When you've done that,
she'll tell you to check on your desk. On the left is your PC and the
right is your Notebook. The notebook has a few tips for you, but only
two at the moment. You can boot up your PC, and it will give you four
options: Item Storage, Mailbox, Decoration, and Turn Off. When you
choose Item Storage, you get four options: Withdraw Item, Deposit Item,
Toss Item and Cancel. If you choose Withdraw, you'll find one Potion to
take. You have no Mail or Decorations, so leave your room and see your
mom downstairs. Your mom will tell you PETALBURG GYM is on tv, and your
DAD will be on. Unfortunately, they just miss the program. MOM tells you
to visit your neighbor, PROF. BIRCH.
As you enter the house to the right of yours (or left,) you will be
stopped. BIRCH's wife will tell you they have a daughter (or son) who is
upstairs. So go up. When you enter the upstairs room, you'll see a
Pokeball. Examining it will have MAY (or BRENDAN) enter their room. This
is your rival in the game. After a few words, leave the house. Walk down
from the house and to the left to PROF. BIRCH'S POKEMON LAB. Talk to the
man in the Lab. He'll tell you BIRCH is out on fieldwork. Nothing else
in the Lab, so exit.
Head North until you see a little girl at the edge of town. She'll tell
you she hears the cries of Pokemon. She doesn't have any, so she asks if
you can go check it out. Continue North and you'll see BIRCH being
chased by a Zigzagoon. He'll ask you for help, so go to his bag and
choose a Pokemon.
Your choices are:
Wood Gecko Pokemon TREECKO
Chick Pokemon TORCHIC
Mud Fish Pokemon MUDKIP
After you choose your Pokemon, you'll engage the Zigzagoon.
BATTLE: Zigzagoon Lv. 2
17 EXP.
After winning, BIRCH will thank you and you'll return to the Lab with
him. He'll give you the Pokemon you chose, and you can give it a
nickname if you wish. BIRCH will then ask if you wish to go see MAY (or
BRENDAN.) Choose yes, and go to Route 101, which is where you found
BIRCH earlier. Here, you can walk in the bushes to find wild Pokemon to
battle. Continue North to find OLDALE TOWN.
PEW03. Oldale Town
Upon entering, talk to the woman beside the house on the right. She'll
tell you she works at the POKEMON MART, and to follow her, though you
have no choice. She'll give you a promotional item, which is a Potion.
OLDALE POKEMON MART
Potion......300
Antidote....100
Parlyz Heal.200
Awakening...250
The building with the red roof is a POKEMON CENTER. Here, you can heal
up your Pokemon. There's a computer to the right of the counter, where
you can go to your PC or SOMEONE'S PC. If you use SOMEONE'S PC, you'll
go into the POKEMON STORAGE SYSTEM and be able to manage all the Pokemon
you'll catch in the future. You can WITHDRAW, DEPOSIT, or MOVE Pokemon,
and MOVE ITEMS from your Pokemon to your bag. The last feature is
useful, in case you give your Pokemon an item to hold, but forget to
take it from them when you deposit it.
The rest of the townspeople will offer advice for you, so there's not
much else for you to do here. If you try and exit from the West exit,
someone will stop you, saying they're sketching footprints from a
Pokemon. Can't go this way, so exit North.
PEW04. Route 103
More bushes to walk around in to level up your Pokemon. It won't take you
long until you find MAY/BRENDAN. She'll want to battle to test out your
new Pokemon.
BATTLE: PKMN Trainer May/Brendan
Treeko Lv. 5 (if you chose Mudkip)
Mudkip Lv. 5 (if you chose Torchic)
Torchic Lv. 5 (if you chose Treeko)

300 credits
MAY/BRENDAN heads back to the lab after the battle. Jump down the ledges
for a quiker way out of Route 103 and head back to OLDALE TOWN. Go to the
South edge of town and MAY/BRENDAN will stop you to tell you to head back
to the Lab (I don't know why.) Do so by heading through Route 101.
Back at the Lab, BIRCH will give you a PokeDex. It's a tool that will
record all the Pokemon you encounter. MAY/BRENDAN will give you 5
PokeBalls. With that done, head out of the Lab and towards Route 101.
Your MOM will stop you and give you the RUNNING SHOES. If you hold down
the B button, you can run quickly. Very helpful to get around Hoenn.
Head back to OLDALE TOWN. The guy blocking the West exit has moved, so
you can now enter ROUTE 102.
PEW05. Route 102
This is the first Route you'll encounter people that have caught their
own Pokemon to battle with. First one to meet is Southwestward, the kid
in the blue cap.
Head right to the two trees. The one on the left gives you 2 ORAN
BERRIES. The one on the right gives you 2 PECHA BERRIES. Head back to
the right and encounter the girl.
Head down and jump down the ledge to find a Pokeball. Inside it,
you'll find a Potion. Go back up and head left into PETALBURG
CITY.

This is where your DAD is, Gym Leader NORMAN. Head inside, which
is North of the POKEMON CENTER. After talking with your dad, a
kid will enter, who wants to become a POKEMON TRAINER. Wally
wants to catch a Pokemon, and Norman asks you to accompany Wally
to find one. You do so. Norman lends Wally his Zigzagoon and
gives him a PokeBall for him to catch a Pokemon of his own. You
go out to the right of town. WALLY will walk around in the bushes
until he finds a wild Pokemon. Battle ensues. WALLy then catches
his own Ralts. Thankful, you two head back to the Gym. Norman
congratulates WALLY, and WALLY leaves. NORMAN then tells you to
head to RUSTBORO CITY to battle the Gym Leader there. He'll tell
you you two will battle one day, when you're stronger. Leave the
Gym.
As you're about to leave PETALBURG CITY via the left, you're
stopped by a man in sunglasses. He says he's in search of Trainers
He comments on how much of a noob you appear to be, then leaves.
Continue left.
PEW07. Route 104
Head down onto the beach and meet up with the trainer walking
around in a circle.
Up onto mainland is MR. BRINEY'S COTTAGE, but you don't need
to go in there yet. Head up around it and find a dirt patch
with more berries. 2 ORAN BERRIES and 2 PECHA BERRIES is
what you will find. Head left and do battle with a girl in a
green dress.
BATTLE: LADY CINDY
Zigzagoon Lv. 7

Head up into PETALBURG WOODS.
PEW08. Petalburg Woods
As soon as you enter, head right. You'll find a guy walking
around. Go into the bushes and you'll find a single square
missing. Stand beside it and face it, press A and you'll find
a Potion. Then head down through the exit. Walk down until
you find a Pokeball, which contains a PokeBall. Jump down the
ledge and back into the WOODS entrance. To the left of the
sign is another kid with a straw hat. Battle.
Head up and find a Pokeball which contains a Parlyz Heal.
Continue to the right then up at the end. You'll find a guy
with brown hair and a green suit just standing there. When you
approach him, he looks around then a member of Team Aqua goes
after him. The guy "asks" you to battle, but it's not like you
had a choice, is it?
BATTLE: TEAM AQUA GRUNT
Poochyena Lv. 9
105 EXP.
180 credits
The guy from Team Aqua runs away, and the Devon Corp guy thanks
you by giving you a Great Ball. He runs off. Continue up and to
the left. Another guy in a straw hat to battle.
Just a bit up is a Pokeball. Inside is an Ether. Head right and
up out of the WOODS.
PEW09. Route 104 (cont.)
Left of the exit is a guy standing in front of a dirt patch. He
gives you TM09, Bullet Seed. Grab the 2 CHERI BERRIES and the 2
ORAN BERRIES. Head up behind the building. You'll see a
Pokeball, but before grabbing it, examine the empty square to
the Southwest of the ball to find a PokeBall. Grab the visible
Pokeball and obtain a Potion. 2 squares right and 2 squares up
is another empty patch, which when examined contains a Super
Potion. All done in this patch, so go down to the dirt road and
head right. Go past the sign and encounter someone to battle.
2 CHERI BERRIES and 2 LEPPA BERRIES are to the right of the
fisherman. Just below, an old lady will give you a CHESTO BERRY.
Go left and North of the fisherman. Walk around the fence and
follow it to a Pokeball, which has an X Defend. Go back the way
you came and enter RUSTBORO CITY.

Start out by heading to CUTTER'S HOUSE, which is left of the
POKEMON CENTER. The guy inside will give you HM01, Cut. This can
cut down trees, but you can't use it until you get the Gym Badge
in this city. Let's get it now. Head North from the POKEMON
CENTER and to the right of the DEVON CORPORATION. You'll see the
sign that says GYM. Enter.
PEW11. Rustboro City Pokemon Gym
This Gym has Rock-type Pokemon. Head up and battle the first
trainer.
You have a choice now. If you want to battle the next two
trainers individually, walk around the guy you just fought and
head left. Talk to the guy in the blue hat and battle him, then
the guy in the pink hat. If you want to battle them at the same
time, then head left then up.
After defeating ROXANNE, you'll receive your first badge, the
STONE BADGE! She'll also give you TM39, Rock Tomb. All done here,
so let's get out.
As you're leaving the Gym, someone will scream. You'll see a
member of Team Aqua running, and someone running from the DEVON
CORPORATION. The Aqua guy took some goods, and they both head
North. For now, head South out of RUSTBORO.
Go down across the bridge and to the little tree to the right.
Give the HM01 Cut to one of the Pokemon able to use it, then use
Cut on that little tree. Inside the Pokeball on the other side of
the now cut tree is an X Accuracy. Head back down into the
PETALBURG WOODS.
Upon entering, head right and cut the trees blocking your way.
Now, just past the bushes, there's an indent, 2 single empty
spaces, on on top of another...vertical line...I'm sure you'll see
it. Face the top empty block and examine it to find a Tinymushroom.
Go talk to the girl and she'll give you a Miracle Seed. Head right
through the bushes and find a Pokeball just above a ledge, which
has a Great Ball. Jump down the ledge and continue going down,
jumping off another ledge. To the left of the ledge is another
Pokeball. In it is an X Attack. Down the ledge and you'll be near
the beginning of the South end of the WOODS. Now go back to
RUSTBORO CITY.
Go past the Gym and to the right where the road forks to find the
guy who ran out of the DEVON CORPORATION. It's the same guy you
helped out in PETALBURG WOODS. Head right to Route 116.
PEW12. Route 116
You enter and there's a fork in the road. Head down first. There's
a Pokeball which has a Repel. On the other side is a trainer to
battle.
Up past the hiker you just fought is a house, but a guy is
blocking the way. To the left of it, there's some trainers
and trees you can cut, but we'll do that after we're done with
what's coming up next. Head right and you'll see an old man
standing beside the entrance to a cave. Go past him a little
and go up the steps to the mountain and get the Pokeball which
has an X Special. Now talk to the old man. He'll tell you a thug
took his Peeko Pokemon. Head into the cave.
PEW13. Rusturf Cave
Head up and get the PokeBall from the visible Pokeball. Head
down the steps and to the right to see a Team Aqua thug holding
a Peeko hostage. He'll back up, then battle you.
BATTLE: TEAM AQUA GRUNT
Poochyena Lv.11
129 EXP.
220 credits
After winning, the Grunt will hand over the DEVON GOODS and runs
off. The old man from outside and gets his Peeko then leaves.
Now head out and to the area beside the house.
PEW14. Route 116 (cont.)
Cut the tree, head up then left. Double battle pending.
BATTLE: LADY SARAH

A Pokeball is in front of you, and it contains a Potion. Now, up
against the tree that can be cut is a space that can be entered,
where you can have a double battle. If you cut the tree and head
around, the kid at the bottom comes up to you. Battle her then
go down to that space and battle the girl.

DOUBLE BATTLE: SCHOOL KID JERRY and LASS JANICE
Ralts Lv. 9

324 credits
Go around the path and cut the tree to the left. Up top, you'll
see berry trees. You'll get 2x 3 PINAP BERRIES and 2x 2 CHESTO
BERRIES. Head down to the Pokeball to get an Ether. Now head
back to RUSTBORO CITY.
Approach the man from PETALBURG WOODS and give him back the DEVON
GOODS. He'll thank you, give you another Great Ball, and take you
to the DEVON CORPORATION. He'll ask you to deliver a package to
SLATEPORT, then introduces you to the President. The President
asks about taking the package to SLATEPORT, then asks if you can
stop by DEWFORD TOWN to deliver a LETTER to STEVEN. Again, no
choice by yes. After giving you the LETTER, MR. STONE gives you a
PokeNav! Pretty useful device. Head down to the second floor and
talk to the second scientist down from the stairs on the right.
He says he wants to resurrect Pokemon from fossils. Keep that in
mind. Now exit.
Just as you step outside of the building, a scientist stops you
and incorporates the MATCH CALL into the PokeNav. It lets you talk
to trainers you've defeated or important people. The first person
you talk to is MR. STONE, the DEVON CORP. PRESIDENT. Afterwards,
head south, out of RUSTBORO CITY. MAY/BRENDAN still stop you.
She/He will register on your PokeNav, tell you MR. BRINEY is home
(back by PETALBURG WOODS,) then you battle.
Now, head down through Route 104, through PETALBURG WOODS, and to
the house South of the exit. Inside, you'll see MR. BRINEY, the
old man from the RUSTURF CAVE who had his Peeko kidnapped. Talk to
him and he'll take you by boat to DEWFORD TOWN.
PEW15. Dewford Town
After docking, head down and talk to the fisherman walking between
the Gym and a house. He'll ask you a question. Answer YES and he'll
give you an OLD ROD. You can use this item to catch a few types of
Pokemon in the water. Just stand against the water and select it.
Sometimes you'll get a nibble, sometimes you won't.
Head up to the house beside the pier and go inside. Talk to the man
on the right and he'll give you a Silk Scarf.
Since there's a POKEMON GYM here, let's get the badge.
PEW16. Dewford Town Pokemon Gym
When you enter, you'll see very little. As you defeat more trainers
inside, the circle will grow bigger. Start out by going up, around
the guy you see, and head right. You'll see a path to go down, so
go, and you'll encounter your first trainer in here.
The KNUCKLE BADGE is your reward for defeating BRAWLY. You'll be
able to use Flash, which helps you see in dark caves. He'll give
you TM08, Bulk Up. Exit the Gym.
Now head up, past the POKEMON CENTER and past the two houses to
Route 106.
PEW17. Route 106
Fisherman right there.
BATTLE: FISHERMAN NED
Tentacool Lv. 11
247 EXP.
440 credits
Head left and find another fisherman between two rocks.
Head up and left around the cave to a path leading behind. Face the
last square and examine to get a PokeBall. Now go back down and
enter the cave.
PEW 18. Granite Cave
Talk to the man in the purple hat and he'll give you HM05, Flash.
Head all the way left and find a Pokeball, which has an Escape Rope.
There's a ladder going down, so go to it.
If you choose to give one of your Pokemon Flash, then you'll have a
better field of vision in this section. If not, I'll give you
directions.
Use the Flash, then head right and down. At the end, you'll find a
Pokeball which has a PokeBall. Head up and continue right, then go
down and find the ladder down.
For the Flash impared, follow. Left. Up all the way. Right all the
way. Up one block. Right six blocks. Down all the way. Left and find
a Pokeball (PokeBall.) Up all the way. Right all the way. Down all
the way. Right all the way. Down all the way. Right to the ladder
down.
Next floor, with Flash, head up and left to the stairs. Head right
and go up the stairs to examine a rock, which gives you the
Everstone. Down and all the way to the right to the ladder.
Next floor, without Flash, up all the way. Left all the way. Down
all the way. Left all the way. Down two blocks. Left to the stairs
(it'll be in your view.) Head up the stairs then head right along
the edge of the unjumpable ledge. Head up one and continue right
along the ledge for four squares. Head up to the stairs and
examine the rock (Everstone.) Head back down and continue right.
Up one block and to the right again to the wall, then up into the
ladder.
Next floor, for both with or without Flash, head straight left.
Now, you'll be back on the first floor of the cave. Head around
left and down. You'll see a door, so enter. In the next room,
you'll find STEVEN. You'll give him the LETTER and he'll give you
TM47, Steel Wing. STEVEN thinks you could one day be POKEMON
CHAMPION. STEVEN will leave, so you should too. Exit that room,
then go right down the ledges and leave the cave.
Head along Route 106, down into DEWFORT, and talk to MR. BRINEY.
Now it's time to leave this little town and go to SLATEPORT.
PEW19. Route 109/Slateport Beach
You'll land on the edge of a beach. Several trainers about. Start
out by heading left and up. You'll find a sailor.
There's two red striped umbrellas up past the sailor you just
fought. There's one kid under the umbrella to the left, and one
sailor visible to the right. A chance for a double battle. If you
choose to battle the kid under the umbrella, then there's another
double battle that can happen with the kid up top. But for here,
we'll take the kid under the umbrella and the sailor.
Now get the Pokeball with the Potion inside. Head left to find
the SEASHORE HOUSE. Enter.
Talk to the man in the red shirt who's standing beside a
machine. He's the owner and will tell you to defeat everyone
in the House and hewill reward you. Let's. Start by heading
left to the sailor.
Talk to the owner again and he'll give you 6 SODA POP.
Afterwards, he'll sell them for 300 each. Exit.
That's it for the trainers on the beach, so head up to
SLATEPORT CITY.
PEW20. Slateport City
There's a market to your left as you enter. First, you'll see a
woman selling dolls. Above her is a couple. The man,
affectionately known as the ENERGY GURU, is selling atribute
increasing items.

Besides the POKEMART is a Fan Club. Enter and talk to the kid
standing beside the Marill. He'll teach one of your Pokemon

how caring for Pokemon. She'll give you a SOOTHE BELL.

Shipyard. Go in and talk to DOCK, the man looking at plans.
He'll tell you that CAPT. STERN went off somewhere. The DEVON
GOODS are for him. Exit and go back to the Museum. The line is
gone, so enter.
You have to pay 50 credits to get inside the Museum, so do so.
Talk to the Aqua grunt looking around. He'll give you TM46,
Thief, then runs off. No battles happen with the other Aqua
members inside, so go upstairs.
Go to the man there, and he'll say he's CAPT. STERN. Then two
Aqua members confront the two of you.

As you walk outside, SCOTT confronts you. He's the guy you met
at PETALBURG CITY. He's impressed you drove away Team Aqua, then
leaves. Now, there's a BATTLE TENT to the Northwest of the
POKEMON CENTER. This will be covered in another section.
PEW21. Route 110
Head up along the path and you'll run into PROF. BIRCH. He
wonders where MAY/BRENDAN is, then figures out you and her/him
are working seperate. He'll register himself into your PokeNav.
This will let him rate your PokeDex at any time. Off he goes.
Continue North. There's a guy standing in the trees, while a
woman is on the road. Double battle opportunity.
Keep going up until you find the TRICK HOUSE. Find the minigame
section to find out about the TRICK HOUSE. Head left to Route 103.
PEW22. The Longer Route 103
Head up to the tree that can be cut and do so. Then go down along
the path, past the trainer and to the dirt. You'll get 2x 2 CHERI
BERRIES and 2 LEPPA BERRIES. Go behind the trees and find a Pokeball
that has a GUARD SPEC. inside. Now go back to where the two trainers
are, separated by a cut tree. Take them on on by one, or double
battle.
All done here, so go back to the TRICK HOUSE and continue right
past the old lady. Find the Pokeball in the grass to get a DIRE
HIT. Now battle the kid in front of you.
MAY/BRENDAN will give you an ITEMFINDER. Continue along your way.
You'll see two guys next to a sign that look like they want to
fight. They do, and they want to fight you. Double battle
opportunity.
Start out by following the wood post fence to the right. Go down
where it stops and behind the trees to get a Pokeball containing an
X Speed. Head into the house from where the wood post fence stopped
and get the HM06, Rock Smash.

Head to the house left of the POKEMART and talk to the person in
the chair. You'll give them the HARBOR MAIL and get the COIN CASE.
You can use this to gamble at the GAME CORNER. Head up past the
POKEMART and head to the right of the bikes you see and inside the
building. Talk to RYDEL, the man looking at the bikes on the left.
He'll look at your RUNNING SHOES and be kind enough to give you a
choice of the MACH BIKE or the ACRO BIKE. Take either one. Now
leave.
Head left past the POKEMON CENTER. You can talk to the big person
looking around if you want one of your Pokemon to learn ROLLOUT.
Now go towards the Gym and head down to the GAME CORNER. Go to the
counter and head left, then talk to the girl. She'll give you a
Mudkip Doll. Hurrah. Now go to the Gym and talk to the person
standing in front of the doors of the Gym. It's WALLY! He'll talk
to his Uncle before talking to you. He'll ask for a battle. Choose
YES. You have to, or else he won't move from the doors.
You'll enter and see pillars with electricity blocking the way.
There are raised lightning tiles on the floor that switch the
direction the electricity blocks.

Now then. There's no way to hit the tiles in such a way that you
won't battle any trainers. If you want a shortcut, go to Tile 4,
battle the two trainers, then battle the Gym Leader. For the sake
of this guide, we'll go through each trainer.
There's two trainers by Tile 1. Double battle opportunity.
WATTSON will give you the DYNAMO BADGE and TM34, Shock Wave.
Exit the Gym and head left onto Route 117.
PEW25. Route 117
There's a house just as you're walking, which is the POKEMON
BREEDING CENTER. For now, head down and get the 3x 3 WEPEAR BERRIES.
Then battle the guy walking back and forth.
There's a tree you can cut, with a Pokeball containing a REVIVE.
Down near the path is a woman facing a little garden of flowers.
You can walk through and go behind the trees and get the Pokeball
containing a GREAT BALL. Go left, still behind the trees and face
the last square at the left to get a REVIVE. One more battle, with
the girl in the green dress looking all around.

one of your Pokemon the ROCK SMASH HM and enter.
PEW27. Rusturf Tunnel II
Start out by heading left and down out of the tunnel. You'll exit
into Route 116. There's a kid looking around. He dropped his
glasses, so help him out. Back up four steps from kid moving left.
You'll be on the right side of the second tree from the right.
Face the kid and examine the area, and you'll find the
BLACKGLASSES. Talk to the kid again. Those aren't his glasses, so
he leaves. Go up the steps onto the mountain path and find a
Pokeball that has an HP Up. Go back into the cave.
Go back to the entrance and head up, then battle the guy in the
purple hat.
Head up. There's a Pokeball with a MAX ETHER. Head left to the two
people blocked by rocks. Examine the rock and use the ROCK SMASH.
The guy will thank you for breaking the rock by giving you HM04,
Strength. The guy's reunited with his girlfriend, and they scoot
off. Now the tunnel between RUSTBORO and VERDANTURF is free to use!
Head left and out to Route 116 to RUSTBORO.
Talk to the guy near the cave who's looking around. It's the guy you
saved back in PETALBURG WOODS and delivered the goods to CAPT. STERN.
Greatful for all you've done, he gives you a new kind of PokeBall,
the REPEAT BALL. Now head back to RUSTBORO.
PEW28. Rustboro Revisted
The POKEMART now sells two new types of PokeBalls, the TIMER BALL
and REPEAT BALL. Anyway, head to the DEVON CORPORATION. Go to the
third floor and talk to MR. STONE. You delivered his LETTER, so he
rewards you with the EXP. SHARE. All done here, so head through the
RUSTURF TUNNEL and back into VERDANTURF. Right to MAWVILLE then exit
North onto Route 111.
PEW29. Route 111
Along the path, there's a woman standing on the left and a guy in a
green hat hiding in the trees. Double battle opportunity.
Head over to the house left of the kid walking around. This is the
WINSTRATE HOUSE. You'll battle a family in succession. Talk to the
bald man to start.
Go in and talk to the family. Talk to Victoria, the one in the upper
right, and she'll give you the MACHO BRACE. Head out. To the right is
TRAINER HILL, but there's nothing going on in there as of yet. There's
a POKEMON CENTER and a POKEMART inside, but if you don't need either
services, ignore it for now and head up.

them if you want. There's a camper to battle up ahead.
Head up and find the first guys of Team Magma blocking the cable car.
Can't go that way, so go to the first hiker and enter the cave.
PEW31. Firey Cave
Not much to do here. There's a boulder blocking a path to the left,
but you can't move it as of it, but we're on the way to get the badge
that will let us. Head up and right then out.
PEW32. Route 112 (cont.)
You'll exit and see two trainers facing each other. They both look
around, so if you want a double battle, you have to time it. Anyway,
head up and get the berries, which is 2x 2 RAWST BERRIES and 2x 2
PECHA BERRIES. Now face the trainers.
The desert is south of here, and you can't enter. Head up.
There's a kid looking at a big pine tree. Talk to him and he'll give
you TM43, Secret Power. He'll talk about building your own SECRET BASE.
To the right is a tree that can be cut. Enter OLD LADY'S REST STOP to
heal up your Pokemon. Head up and talk to the woman walking by the
dirt. She'll give you a RAZZ BERRY. Collect the 2x 3 RAZZ BERRIES and
2x ORAN BERRIES. Continue left and battle.
Head up. There's a little mound near a ledge. Examine it and get an
ETHER. Jump down the ledge. You'll see three trainers waiting. You
have no choice for the double battle.

give you the SOOT SACK. This will let you collect soot from the
bushes. I'm sure you've noted the bushes you've walked over have
turned from grey to green. You need at least 250 steps to have him
sell you something.

talk to her. She'll apologize for having such a cluttered house and
give you a LOTAD DOLL. Exit her house and walk behind it then down to
the dirt to get 3x 2 PERSIM BERRIES. Jump down the ledges and battle
the camper.
BATTLE: POKEMANIAC STEVE

Head up the stairs on the left onto the mountain. SMASH the rock and
get the Pokeball containing a PROTEIN. Head down and walk around the
mountain. You'll see a guy in orange looking around. Battle him.
Head down the stairs and around. Cave opening ahead.
PEW37. Meteor Falls
When you enter, head straight up to find a Pokeball with a FULL HEAL
inside. Head back down and across the bridge. You'll see some TEAM
MAGMA members talking. They've found the METEORITE they needed for MT.
CHIMNEY. One member is about to battle you when TEAM AQUA interferes.
MAGMA runs off and AQUA follows. Head down and talk to COZMO, the
professor. MAGMA tricked him into leading them to the METEORITE. Head
left and up to find a Pokeball with a MOON STONE inside. Now head down.
There's purple stuff that you can leap down from, or the stairs to the
right of it. Either way you decide, head down and out of the cave.
PEW38. Route 115

down and you'll see two trainers on the left. First, grab the 2x 3 BULK
BERRIES. Now, leap down besides the trainers. Double battle opportunity.
Head down and collect the Pokeball at the end of the path, which
contains a PP Up. Jump down the ledge. To your left, there's a woman
in green looking around, and there's a beach there too. Head along
the beach upwards to find another Pokeball, which has a SUPER POTION.
Continue south and return to RUSTBORO CITY. Word of warning: we're
going to battle several TEAM MAGMA members soon, so stock up on items
and heal up your Pokemon. With that, head through the RUSTURF TUNNEL,
into VERDANTURF, then MAWVILLE. Go North, along Route 112 to MT.
CHIMNEY. Remember the MAGMA members blocking the path to the cable
car? They're gone. Step into it, talk to the girl and head into MT.
CHIMNEY.
PEW39. Mt. Chimney
When you emerge, you'll see MAGMA and AQUA members in a standoff with
their Poochyenas. You can't battle any of them, so go right and up the
steps. At the top, there's more--2 on 2-- and more at the upper right.

each other. Double battle opportunity.

from AQUA comes and thanks you. He wonders who's side you're on,
then leaves. Examine the machine and obtain the METEORITE. With both
AQUA and MAGMA gone from the top of the mountain, the exit down MT.
CHIMNEY is open. So head to where you exited from the cable car.
There's an old lady who will sell you LAVA COOKIES at 200 a pop.
Head down.
PEW40. Jagged Path
Head down and battle the trainer in the purple hat.
Look to the right. You see those oddly placed stones that look like
they can be walked on. Well, they can be with the ACRO BIKE. Just
press and hold B and you'll start jumping, allowing you to move on
those stones.
Anyway, head down a few more ledges until you see a camper and a
TEAM MAGMA member staring at a wall.
Head right of the MAGMA grunt and head down to the Pokeball, which
has a BURN HEAL inside. Head up and around, then jump down the ledge
with the camper and a biker facing each other. Double battle
opportunity.

PEW42. Lavaridge Town Pokemon Gym
In this gym, you have to move around by going down the puddles.
They're warp points of sorts. Go down the first one to your left as
you enter the gym.
When you drop down, you'll see a puddle to your right. There's a
trainer in there. When you get next to the puddle, you'll engage in
battle.
Can't go anywhere else, so head back to the puddle you came from.
After emerging to the first floor, head left and up to the only
other puddle you can get to from where you're at.
Upon emerging, head down and you'll see a few puddles. There are
two very close to each other, and those two have trainers. Double
battle opportunity.

Now head to the puddle in the upper left for a double battle. You
can take the one straight to the left of the two trainers or the one
just at the upper right if you want to take on the trainers one on
one.
Now go to the puddle to the left of that trainer. Head right and
go up into the next puddle you see. The head to the puddle in the
lower right. Jump down the ledge into this last puddle. And there's
the Gym Leader, FLANNERY.
FLANNERY gives you the HEAT BADGE. It makes all Pokemon up to
Lv. 50 obey you and lets you use STRENGTH outside of battle. She'll
also give you TM50, Overheat. With our Fourth Badge now in hand, exit
the Gym.
Just as you exit the Gym, you'll see MAY/BRENDAN exit the house just
to the right. She'll give you the GO-GOGGLES. These will help you in
the desert near ROUTE 111. Lucky for you, that's all she/he does.
Head right from the Gym to the ledges. Jump down the first two then
head up to the Pokeball that contains a NUGGET.
Now, we're going to head up to MT. CHIMNEY, into the FIREY PATH to
move the boulder we couldn't before.
PEW43. Firey Path II
Go up to the boulder and examine it, then let whichever Pokemon you
gave STRENGTH to use it. Push that bolder all the way to the left. Go
around it and push the left boulder up one, then the one you pushed
first to the right. Go up and push the next boulder to the left, but
not all the way, just enough so you can go up. There's a Pokeball up
there, which has a TM06, TOXIC. Go around to the leftmost side and push
the boulder all the way down. When it won't go down any further, push
it to the right. You'll see two more boulders. When that boulder is to
the right, push the one directly down from that one to the right, then
head down, making sure not to touch that other boulder. Head down and
grab the Pokeball with a FIRE STONE inside. Now go down and exit, then
go up the cable car to the top of MR. CHIMNEY.
PEW44. Mt. Chimney II
There are trainers here now, now that TEAM MAGMA and AQUA are no longer
hear. Start by heading right to the green haired girl.
Head up and to the left to where the machine was with the METEORITE.
There's a guy in a purple hat and another green haired woman. Double
battle opportunity.
Now that you're done here, go down the JAGGED PATH and down the ledges
to the right when you enter ROUTE 112. If you keep going right, you'll
see the entrance to the desert. This part is optional, but since we're
here, we might as well explore.
PEW45. Route 111 - Desert
**NOTE** When you enter the desert, you might see a tower there. If you
do, make sure you have the MACH BIKE. Since the MAUVILLE is south along
ROUTE 111, you can go exchange your bike if you currently have the ACRO
BIKE. The section after this one deals with the MIRAGE TOWER.
There's a guy in a purple hat near a Pokeball that contains a STARDUST.
If you head up from that Pokeball, you'll see a camper to battle.
Going up and to the left, if you have the MACH BIKE, there's a trail that
you can go up onto the mountain. Head to the right after getting on it
and you'll see a guy walking left to right quickly.
BATTLE: BLACK BELT DAISUKE

If you go up and down the mudslide path, you'll end up near OLD LADY'S
REST STOP, so go back to the left and head back down the mudslide back
into the desert. Head right and you'll see another camper to battle.
Head South of that trainer. You'll pass a weird rock formation, and
then find a Pokeball with TM37, Sandstorm.
Nothing left in the desert, so head to PETALBURG (head down to
MAUVILLE, left to VERDANTURF, through the tunnel to RUSTBORO, then
down to PETALBURG.)
PEW45a. Route 111 - Mirage Tower
Head to the left and around top you'll see a ladder going up.
In this room, head left. You'll see tiles that are cracked. If you
step on them, they'll break and you'll fall. If you run on them,
they'll break and you'll fall. You need to use the MACH BIKE to
gather some speed and ride over them and around the boulders blocking
your way. You can't stop or you'll fall. You'll have to be quick in
order to ride over the tiles and around the boulders. Head right and
go up the ladder.
Nothing real intense in this room, just SMASH the two rocks and head
up the ladder.
On the top floor, you'll see two weird looking rocks, which are
fossils. SMASH the rock blocking the way up the stairs then choose
one of the fossils. The one on the left is the ROOT FOSSIL. The one on
the right is the CLAW FOSSIL. After choosing, the TOWER will start to
crumble and then disappear, as will the FOSSIL you didn't choose. Now,
remember the guy in RUSTBORO that was doing fossil research? Whenever
you talk to him, give him the fossil and he'll give you a new Pokemon.
PEW46. Petalburg City Pokemon Gym
This Gym is divided into different rooms, where different abilities
are utilized. We'll go through each one.
Norman gives you the BALANCE BADGE, which increases the Defense of your
Pokemon and lets those that know SURF use it to travel over water. He
also gives you TM42, Facade.
Suddenly, WALLY's father comes in and steals you away from NORMAN for a
minute. He tells you how well WALLY's doing, and gives you HM03, Surf.
With Surf, most of Hoenn is open for your exploring pleasure.
For now, since we're close to LITTLEROOT, let's go back there and talk
to MOM.
She'll register herself into your PokeNav. Talk to her again and she'll
give you an AMULET COIN. Pretty useful if you need cash. Now head up to
ROUTE 103.
Head to the right side where there's water. Teach one of your Pokemon
SURF then go across the water.
You'll see two swimmers going up and down. Double battle opportunity.

Hit land and find the fisherman you battled all the way back when. You're
en route to MAUVILLE, so head there. When you arrive, you'll see WATTSON,
the man with white hair and a big white mustache looking around. He's
standing on the road between the POKEMON CENTER, RYDEL'S CYCLES and the
POKEMART. It's kind of hard to miss him. Talk to WATTSON and he'll ask you
to go to NEW MAUVILLE to turn off the generator. He'll give you the BASEMENT
KEY to get in.
Head down from MAUVILLE onto ROUTE 110. You'll see the SEASIDE CYCLING ROAD
with the fisherman looking into the water. SURF onto the water. Head down to
the small island with the big tree then head right until you see a cave
opening. Go in there.
PEW47. New Mauville
Head up to the door and use the key WATTSON gave you. Enter.
In this area, there are colored doors blocking your way and tiles that will
open them. You'll see a blue tile South of you, so step on it to open the
blue door to your left, and head that way. You'll come to a green tile to
step on, so step on it then head up. There's a blue tile, but don't step on
it. Instead, head right. You'll see a Pokeball on top of a tile which has
an ESCAPE ROPE. Head up and to the right to find another Pokeball on top of
a tile, which is actually an Voltorb if you want to battle or capture it.
Head down to the blue tile and step on it, then head left and up. You'll
see two Pokeballs: the one on the left is a PARLYZ HEAL, the other is
another Voltorb. There's a green switch there, but don't step on it. Head
up then right, then down and find another pair of Pokeballs: left is a
Voltorb, right is a FULL HEAL. Step on the green switch to open the door to
the generator. Head past the red switch to find a Pokeball with a
THUNDERSTONE inside, then step on the switch. The generator turns off.
There's one more item to get. Head left, step on the blue tile then
continue left then down. There's a green tile to the upper right of where
you found the first Pokeball that was a Voltorb. Step on it. Head down and
right and find one more Pokeball with an ULTRA BALL inside. Continue right,
down then to the door. Exit.
Head back to MAUVILLE. Around here's where the EGG I got in LAVARIDGE
hatched, with a Wynaut inside. Talk to WATTSON. He'll give you TM24,
Thunderbolt.
Head East out of MAUVILLE.
PEW48. Route 118
You'll see a kid in a blue hat and a girl hiding behind a tree. Double
battle opportunity.
Now SURF across the water. There's a fisherman up near a rock. He'll ask
you a question about the GOOD ROD. Say YES, of course, and he'll give you
the GOOD ROD. Head down and along the right of the beach. Battle the
fisherman near grass.
Head up into the grass. STEVEN will stop you. He asks you about the
Pokemon you're raising. Anyway, head left to the tree that can be CUT
and get the 2x 2 SITRUS BERRIES.
Head right and see a trainer standing beside a sign. Battle him.
Head up and to the right to find a Pokeball with a HYPER POTION inside.
Head up into ROUTE 119.
PEW49. Route 119
Bikes are a no-go, as the kid on the bike will tell you. We'll start out
by heading left. Go left them up until you see some black hair near an
empty space of three horizontal squares. Battle him.
Keep heading left. You'll see a Pokeball in the clear space among the
field of grass. There's a bug catcher hanging around near it, so
battle them first.
The Pokeball contains a Super Repel. Head over to the right. You'll
see another Pokeball, which has a Hyper Potion. There's a kid with
black hair walking around to battle with.
Head up the stairs and into the tall grass. Find the Pokeball there
with the ZINC.
Head to the little beach and surf back across to the main path.
You'll see some tall grass and dirt with berries, so go get the
berries. They are 2 SITRUS BERRIES and 2 LEPPA BERRIES. Now, you'll
see a thin white bridge. Looks like you can jump it. If you have the
ACRO BIKE, you can. Just press B and up or down to jump across those
white thin tiles. After you've crossed, head up the thin trail
through the trees. You'll see a flower patch that contains a CALCIUM
when you examine it. Nothing else here, so head back across the white
bridge.
Head up along the mountain path and you'll see a camper by a bridge.
Battle her.

more trees and into more tall grass to find a Pokeball with an ELIXIR
inside. Now head left and up onto the mountain path with the trainer
right there plus one that's camouflaged. He tries to blend into the
mountain, but you can make him out. Double battle opportunity.
Head up and you'll see a big building, the WEATHER INSTITUTE. Two
members of TEAM AQUA will block your path over the bridge, so head
inside the INSTITUTE.
PEW50. Weather Institute

There's a grunt next to a table that's looking around.
After defeating SHELLY, a grunt moves you out of the way and tells you
MAGMA is up to no good. All the AQUA members exit. The professor will
thank you by giving you a CASTFORM Pokemon. If you have an empty slot
in your current team, it'll end up there. Otherwise, it'll be
transferred to your PC. Nothing else here, so exit back onto Route 119.
The AQUA grunts are no longer blocking the bridge, so head across. Head
down the steps and you'll find a Pokeball all by its lonesome. It
contains an ELIXIR. You can SURF on this river, so do so. Follow it down
until you reach two rocks blocking your way and a Pokeball to the right.
It contains a LEAF STONE. Head back up along the river. You'll find a
tall grass patch at the right just before the river curves to the left,
heading to the small path on which you could SURF on. There's an empty
square in the tall grass, which has an ULTRA BALL hidden away. Now, head
up the river until you come to a waterfall. Exit onto the two block long
land on the right and examine the top square. It has a MAX ETHER there.
SURF down to the little piece of land that we started this little
scavenger hunt from.
Head up the steps and follow the path up. MAY/BRENDAN will find you and
battle you.
Upon defeating your rival, they'll give you HM02, Fly. As soon as your
rival leaves, SCOTT talks to you. He asks if you're off to FORTREE GYM
for another badge. Of course you are. Continue your way up.
You'll see a ninja masking as a tree, and another hiding behind a tree.
Double battle opportunity.
At the dirt to the left of the ninja boy, you'll find 3x 2 POMEG BERRIES.

and want to trade it, then do so.
In the next house is an old woman that will giveyou TM10, Hidden Power, if
you can guess which hand the coin is in. Usually, it goes RIGHT RIGHT LEFT.
Her husband on the right will teach one of your Pokemon SLEEP TALK.
Head over to the third house. You'll see a ladder heading down to the Gym.
But what's this? Something's blocking your way. Hmm, weird. Since you can't
get to the Gym right now, head back up the ladder and to the last house.
Head down the ladder and to the right to ROUTE 120
PEW52. Route 120
Head along the path and you'll see a woman looking around. Battle her.
You'll see a Pokeball through some tall grass and down some steps, but
something's blocking your way. Again. Well, you can't get it just yet, so
head up to the tree that can be CUT and head through the path. CUT another
tree then head to the end of the little path. Examine the last square to
find a RARE CANDY.
Exit the path and head into the tall grass. There's three empty square:
left is highest, next is lowest, and the one on the right is between the
two. Examine the second square to find a REVIVE. Head down and find a
trainer to battle.
Head across the bridge and you'll meet STEVEN. He'll talk about the things
that have been blocking your path. He'll give you the DEVON SCOPE, a
machine that will show you what the invisible things are. Turns out the
invisible things are Kecleons. You'll battle one as a result of STEVEN's
demonstration. You can catch it or beat it, whichever you choose.
With the DEVON SCOPE in hand, return to that Pokeball you couldn't get to
before. Examine the Kecleon blocking your way and battle it. The Pokeball
contains a NEST BALL. Head back to FORTREE CITY and examine the invisible
Pokemon blocking your path. Luckily, this one will just leave. Head into
the Gym.
PEW53. Fortree City Pokemon Gym
This is another kind of puzzle gym. You have to hit revolving sticks that
look like T's. Some are short, others have one long end so you can't use
it as easily.
Head left through two of the revolving sticks. When you pass through the
second one, you'll see a trainer waiting for you. Battle him.
Head up. You'll see one of the long revolving sticks. If you pass through
the left side, you'll have a double battle. If you turn the stick by the
bottom part, you can take them on seperate.
There's two revolving sticks. Pass right on the bottom one then head
left through the top one. Then push the longer stick down and head up
thhrough the top one so that you can advance. There's a double battle
you can't avoid.
There's three revolving sticks. First, push the small one on the left by
pushing it up. Then take care of the one on the right by heading up. Next
is a big L shaped stick. Go up and push it up. Now head left and down and
through the stick, then push the longer side of the one to the right and
head up. Now head up and right and to the Gym Leader.
WINONA gives you the FEATHER BADGE. With it, all Pokemon up to Lv. 70 will
obey you. You'll also be able to use FLY outside of battle. And finally,
she'll give you TM40, Aerial Ace. All done here, so head back to ROUTE 120.
PEW54. Route 120 (cont.)

right, going down ledges, then cross the bridge. The rain will stop. Head
down and see the trainer looking around by a puddle and battle him.
Head right to get the HYPER POTION from inside the Pokeball. Head left and
up the steps. You'll find a ninja masked as the side of a mountain. Battle
him.
Head back down. There's dirt with berries, which has 3 RAZZ BERRIES, 3
NANAB BERRIES, 3 PINAP BERRIES, and 3 WEPEAR BERRIES. SURF down the little
lake and find a Pokeball with a FULL HEAL inside. Head left behind the
trees. At the topmost piece of land, examine the left square to find a RARE
CANDY. Head around and down the stairs. There's a green haired girl walking
by some dirt. Talk to her and say YES, and she'll give you an IAPAPA BERRY.
Get the 3x 2 PECHA BERRIES. Keep heading right and you'll enter ROUTE 121.
PEW55. Route 121

BERRIES, 2 RAWST BERRIES, and 2 CHESTO BERRIES. Head down and left between
the fences and battle the green haired girl.
More right and you'll find three AQUA grunts talking. It seems MAGMA is
going to MT. PYRE, so AQUA is too. CUT the tree to the right. That small
building leads to the SAFARI ZONE. Very fun place to explore. You can't
right now until you get the POKEBLOCK CASE in LILYCOVE. We'll have to put
off exploring it for now. Anyway, head down and battle the twins.

face you.
In that grass patch between the previous trainers, there's an empty square.

Also on the roof of the DEPARTMENT STORE is a woman that will
teach one of your Pokemon Substitute.
Next to the DEPARTMENT STORE on the left is the POKEMON ART
MUSEUM. There's various works of art in there. Talk to the man
blocking the stairs. He'll ask if you've seen all the art you
want, so say yes if you did (or didn't.) He'll take you
upstairs. He'll show you a blank canvas, in which he wants to
use to show other people's artwork around Hoenn. It's your job
to get them for him. Agree to it, then exit.
Next to the DEPARTMENT STORE on the right is the MOVE DELETER'S
HOUSE. Obviously, this guy will delete a move one of your
Pokemon learned, even HMs.
Go inside the POKEMON CONTEST HALL. Talk to the girl on the
left at the counter and she'll give you a POKEBLOCK CASE. Now,
if you want, you can go to the SAFARI ZONE and catch Pokemon.
You don't need Pokeblocks per se, but you do need the case. If
you head south of the HALL, and around past the old couple and
head to the right, you'll see a Pokeball that has a MAX REPEL.
Head back up to where the DEPARTMENT STORE is. Head right.
There's an old man in a suit walking around. Talk to him and
he'll give you a random berry (he gave me a LUM BERRY.) Head
down the ledges and go into the little house on the right.
The guy in there will give you TM44, Rest.
Head down the ledges to the left of the house. There's the
LILYCOVE MOTEL, which is next to the CONTEST HALL.
Left and down of the HALL is the HARBOR. The ship's not there
yet, so you can't do much of anything in there.
There isn't much else you can do in LILYCOVE, so head to ROUTE
122 through ROUTE 121. It's South of the SAFARI ZONE.
PEW57. Route 122/Mt. Pyre
Walk to the edge of the pier and SURF. You'll see a huge island.
Head down to the bottom and see a cave opening. Enter it.
MT. PYRE. This is where all the Pokemon's souls come to rest.
Little creepy. Talk to the man at the upper right of the room.
He'll give you a CLEANSE TAG. There's two ways up MT. PYRE: easy
and long. The easy way is heading to the left and out to the
mountain-side of the area, then going up the steps to go up
higher. The long way is going up the steps near the man who gave
you the TAG. You'll battle trainers and climb higher the inside
of PYRE.
You'll see two trainers facing a woman that looks at both of
them. We'll take the first trainers we come to for the double
battle.

Now head outside via the left exit. Head right and up the steps. Now
go left and down the steps to grab the Pokeball with the TM48, Skill

the Pokeball. Head down and left. You'll see an orange headstone behind
a long rock. Examine it to get a MAX ETHER. Head left then up and pass
some long rocks. There's another orange headstone at the end of it,

upper right of the POKEMON CENTER) and talk to CAPT. STERN, the
one being videotaped. He'll tell you he found an underground
cavern on ROUTE 128. Someone from TEAM AQUA will talk, and the
voice is coming from inside. You'll see ARCHIE and a GRUNT. He
wonders if you'll follow him back to their HIDEOUT in LILYCOVE.
They then steal the submarine! Well, time to go to LILYCOVE and
go to the TEAM AQUA HIDEOUT.
When you get to LILYCOVE, head to the beach and go up. You
should see a cave opening. SURF to it and enter.
PEW60. Aqua Hideout
Head up and land. There's a GRUNT running around for you to
battle.

you'll see white round tiles with little orange triangles.
These are warp points. Step on the right one and land in another
room. Get the MAX ELIXIR in the Pokeball to the right, then step
on the warp tile. Now, step on the left warp.
In this room, head right. You'll see a GRUNT looking around to
battle.

head left and step on the warp tile. In this room, you'll see
three warp tiles below you. Step on the left warp tile. You'll
come to the middle part of that room. Keep stepping on the left
tile and you'll eventually end up in the bottom of the room. Head
to the far left tile and you'll end up in a closed off part of a
room with four Pokeballs. There's an Electrode in the upper and
lower right Pokeball, a NUGGET in the lower left, and a MASTER
BALL in the upper left. Now head to the warp tile and get back
into the room with the GRUNT you faced.
Back in this room, head right and you'll see two GRUNTS facing

warp tiles. Head up the door and out of the HQ.
You'll exit the HQ. There were Wailmers blocking the way to the
right, but now they're gone. Head right into ROUTE 124.
PEW61. Route 124
Continue right and you'll see two swimmers facing each other.

Head up onto land. There's a kid in the trees to the left of
the POKEMON CENTER. He says he got something from STEVEN, a
KING'S ROCK. He'll give it to you if you want.

Pokeball at the end. Head up and you'll see SCOTT standing by
some steps. You don't need to talk to him, but he'll talk about
this city's Gym, and something being wrong at the SPACE CENTER.
On this level, head left and up and into the house. The
fisherman will give you a SUPER ROD. Head back down and up into
the SPACE CENTER. Talk to the guy at the table. He'll give you a
SUN STONE. STEVEN is there. If you talk to him, he'll tell you
TEAM MAGMA is coming after the rocket fuel on this island.
North of the POKEMART is the Gym.
PEW63. Mossdeep City Pokemon Gym
This is a pretty unusual Gym. You'll see trainers and statues on
colored tiles. The tiles have an arrow, and when you step on the
colored square, whatever's on those arrows will move in that
direction.

lower left warp to the upper right one. Now head back up to the
warp tile you came from. Step onto the warp tile to the left.
Head up and step on the blue tile to make the trainers face each
other.
Step on the brown tile twice, then head around and step on the
nearest blue tile four times. Go down and step on that blue tile
once, then head right past the old man. Go up into the warp tile.
You'll be in the area with the green arrow showing, so head up to
the warp point. Now you'll be where the Gym leaders are.
The twins will give you the MIND BADGE. It enhances the SP.ATK
and SP.DEF of your Pokemon. It also lets you use DIVE outside of
battle. They'll give you TM04, Calm Mind. Head up to the warp
point. You'll end up in the first room, so head down and out of
the Gym.

only control your own Pokemon. You can't choose what moves STEVEN'S
Pokemon use. Bummer.
MAXIE will wonder if MAGMA's goals are misguided. They wonder if
AQUA's goals fall along those same lines. After a moment, they
leave. STEVEN will thank you. He has something for you, so meet
him at his house. It's in the upper left part of the city. It's up
and left of the POKEMON CENTER. So head over to his house. When
you enter, he will immediately talk to you. He'll give you HM08,
Dive. When you're SURFing, you'll see dark blue patches in the
water. You can dive into them and search underwater. If you talk
to STEVEN again, he'll tell you there's an underwater cave between
MOSSDEEP and SOOTOPOLIS.
Leave MOSSDEEP by SURFing down to ROUTE 127. You'll get a call
from MAY/BRENDAN, telling you they were in PACIFIDLOG a little
while ago. They saw a giant green Pokemon flying in the sky.
PEW65. Route 127
Head down the left side. You'll see light blue water that you can
walk on with a Pokeball. ZINC is inside. Head down and you'll see
trees on the shallow water with a Pokeball in the middle. SURF
down and find the opening among the trees with two trainers facing
each other. Double battle opportunity.
Head up and grab the RARE CANDY from inside the Pokeball. Head
south until you see a red haired trainer. It might seem like a
long ways away, but you'll see her.

only place you can really go here.) Surface by pressing B or
choosing the Pokemon that you gave DIVE to and choosing it.
You'll be above water again. Head up and to the left and find
shallow water, trees, and a Pokeball with a CARBOS inside. Head
to the DIVE point, DIVE, then surface.
Now head left and up along the rock wall. You'll see a guy with
a blue cap on swimming.
With all the fisherman defeated, SURF and head down and to the
left. Past that guy in the blue cap is a large area to DIVE, so
do so. Underwater, continue heading down. You'll go right then go
down. You'll circle a big land mass that has a cave opening. Enter
it. There will be a sub, so go get next to it then surface.

[Left path] Surf into the water and you'll stop. Push right and
you'll go along the currents some more. Push right again. When you
stop, push left and you'll end up at the exit.
[Right path] Head to the right and SURF into the water. You'll see
a current heading right along the bottom, so pass over it. Hit the
current in front of you and when you stop, push up. You'll end up in
open water, so head up. You'll follow the currents then find yourself
in open water. Move left then up and enter the door.

ARCHIE will use the RED ORB. He will awaken KYOGRE...but just like
GROUDON, it will fly away too! One of the GRUNTS from the outside
will tell ARCHIE it is raining outside. Harder than they thought
it would be. MAXIE will arrive and the three of you will go to the
surface. You'll see it raining bad. ARCHIE realizes what he's done,
and he and MAXIE go off to try and make things right. STEVEN shows
up. He says something's happening in SOOTOPOLIS. Head North until
you see a red haired swimmer then go left when you can. You'll be

take you to meet someone. You'll finally come to a cave and enter it.
PEW69. Cave of Origin
Head up into the next area. Walk up around the path and head down
the ladder. Now, walk down and talk to WALLACE. He's said he's heard
of you. He'll go on and eventually tell you GROUDON and KYORGE
aren't the only two Legendary Pokemon. There's a third--RAYQUAZA.
RAYQUAZA calmed the two others back in the day. He doesn't know
where RAYQUAZA is, but thinks you do. He'll give you three options.
CAVE OF ORIGIN...no, you're already there and didn't see it. MT.
PYRE...no, that's where GROUDON was and you didn't see it there
either. The only option left is SKY PILLAR. That must be it!
WALLACE will meet you there. Head out of the cave. Leave SOOTOPOLIS

PEW74. Pacifidlog Town
There's not much of anything of interest here. Heal up your Pokemon
at the POKEMON CENTER. There's a guy in the house South of it that
will trade you a HORSE for a BAGON. Head to the house left of that
one and the old man inside will give you a TM27, Return. If you go
to each of the houses, you'll get clues for stuff later on. MIRAGE
ISLAND. Six dots open three doors. Three Pokemon that represent the
power of rock, ice and steel. Hmm. Well, head to the SKY PILLAR,
which is North of that one guy in the blue cap. Remember?
PEW75. Sky Pillar
Head up and around to the exit. When you come out, WALLACE will
meet you. He didn't notice he left you behind back in the CAVE OF
ORIGIN. Idiot. Anyway, he opened the locked door to the SKY PILLAR,
so now the two of you will head on. There will be an earthquake,
and WALLACE will worry. It'll start to rain again. Not good.
WALLACE leaves to go back to SOOTOPOLIS to check things out. You're
left all alone to ascent the PILLAR and face RAYQUAZA. Head into
the door.
[1st floor] Head right and up and go upstairs.
[2nd floor] Head left and upstairs.
[3rd floor] Head around and upstairs.
[4th floor] Head around and fall through the first crack. You'll
end up on the 3rd floor. Head up the stairs. Back on the 4th floor,
head left and upstairs.
[5th floor] Head around and upstairs.
[Roof] Go up the steps and into the middle of the two stones and
find RAYQUAZA. The ground will shake, and just like that,
RAYQUAZA's gone too. Nothing else here, so leave the SKY PILLAR
and head back to SOOTOPOLIS.
PEW76. Return to Sootopolis
Another cinematic. GROUDON and KYOGRE will be facing off, then
RAYQUAZA flies down through the clouds in a green light. All three
will be facing each other. RAYQUAZA releases some rings of energy
or whatever, and the other two Legendaries will leave. RAYQUAZA
flies off. The weather returns to normal. And that's the end of
that.
Head to the Gym and talk to MAXIE and ARCHIE. They'll both
disappear. Talk to WALLACE, who's standing in front of the Gym.
He'll thank you on behalf of everyone, and give you HM07,
Waterfall. Now you can enter the Gym.
PEW77. Sootopolis City Pokemon Gym
This Gym has three puzzles. You have to walk over the ice so that
you stepped on every tile, and can head up the steps. If you fall,
you'll go down to the room below and battle lots and lots of
trainers. For now, we'll take care of all the trainers. The
solution to the ice tiles is after the battles for each section.
Head up the steps and step on the first tile. Head left then right
so that you'll fall. First trainer with green hair battles you
immediately when you land.

Follow the arrowed path. From the steps, step on the first tile of
ice, step left, up, all the way right, then all the way left. The
ice slope will become stairs.
Now fall down. To the next area. If you didn't notice, the rock
placement on the upper level is where trainers will be on the lower
level. You'll drop down into a double battle.
When you climb the steps from the first puzzle, step on the first
tile. Head left, then up, then left twice, down once, right to the
rock, down, right, up, then left to the last ice tile. The slope
will turn into stairs. Head up and fall through.
There's six trainers here. We'll start at the top with the green
haired girl.

From the first tile, head left two times, up, left, down, left to

right two, up, left one, down to the rock, right to the rock, down
one, right one, down one, right to the rock, up one, right two,
down one, right to the wall, up to the wall, left two, down one,
left one, up, left to the ice slope. Head up the stairs and battle
the Gym Leader.
You'll win the RAIN BADGE. This will assure the full obedience of
all your Pokemon. The RAIN BADGE also lets you use WATERFALL
outside of battle to scale waterfalls. He'll also give you TM03,
Water Pulse.
You have your final badge!
You can explore the rest of Sootopolis City. Inside the POKEMON
CENTER, there's a young girl in the upper left. She can teach one
of your Pokemon DOUBLE-EDGE.
Go to the house on the right of the POKEMON CENTER. The woman
inside will give you a big WAILMER DOLL.
The house above that one has two guys wanting you to show them a
LOTAD and a SEEDOT.
On the bottom left side of SOOTOPOLIS is a young girl, KIRI. She
will wive you two different random berries (she give me a KELSPY
BERRY and an IAPAPA BERRY.)
North of the POKEMART is a house with a black belt guy inside.
He'll give you TM31, Brick Break.
Nothing left here in SOOTOPOLIS, so leave.
Now, you should have one MASTER BALL back from TEAM AQUA'S HIDEOUT.
If you return to the SKY PILLAR, RAYQUAZA will be there. You can
use the MASTER BALL to catch it! It will be a powerful addition to
your Pokemon team.
PEW78. Getting RAYQUAZA
This time around in the SKY PILLAR, you'll need the MACH BIKE to
ride over the crumbled floor quickly.
[1st floor] Just like before, only more rocks are around. Go up to
the right and go upstairs.
[2nd floor] Use the MACH BIKE and ride over the crumbled floor
until you hit the South wall. For the next part of this, you have
to be good at handling the BIKE, because you'll be making a sharp
turn to get around the rocks below the stairs. When you make it
over, go upstairs.
[3rd floor] No crumbly here, so head around and go upstairs.
[4th floor] This one is a bit tricky. You can head down the first
part of the crumbly floor but make sure to turn right so you don't
run into the South wall and fall down. If you can do it, head down
and turn left so that you'll hit the middle of the South part.
You'll see four crumbly floor pieces separated by three rocks and
then three crumbly to its right. That's where you want to make
yourself go. Once you get past the three, head up. You'll see a
path with one crumbly, one regular, two crumbly, one regular and
one crumbly at the end. You want to ride over the first crumbly
and stop on one of the two after. Don't go to the last crumbly on
the right because you'll have to do this all over. When you fall,
you'll be under stairs. Go up. Then, head left and upstairs.
[5th floor] Head around and go upstairs.
[Roof] It'll be just like before. Head through the two rocks and
face RAYQUAZA. All you have to do in this battle is use the MASTER
BALL for an easy capture. Success!
We're getting close to the end of the journey.
The last place now is to go to EVER GRANDE CITY to make your way
to the ELITE FOUR. You can go back to PACIFIDLOG TOWN and head West
to battle the rest of the trainers, but that's up to you. In my next
update, I will go the long, watery route to get the last of the
trainers. This entails ROUTE 133, 134, 109, 108, 107, 106, 105, 104,
and 115, in that order. Wow. But for the end of it all, head East
on ROUTE 133 all the way to ROUTE 128.
PEW79. Path to Ever Grande City

go up it. You'll come to a place to land. Go up the steps and to
the right to find a POKEMON CENTER. If you continue up the steps,
you'll see a cave. Enter.
PEW81. Victory Road
For here, you'll need pretty much all the HMs to get around. This
is a big place too, so have lots of healing items ready.
We'll take care of one trainer here before going on the main route.
Head up under the bridge, then around and under another bridge,
then right. You'll see steps, so go up them and follow the path all
the way to a Pokeball with a MAX ELIXIR inside. Jump down the ledge
and head left. There's a guy in red to battle.
Head to the left and jump down the ledge. Now, head under the first
bridge again and head up the steps to cross over the next bridge.
Pass over it and head up. WALLY will stop you and wants to battle.
In here, use FLASH so you can see better. Head down and left to
find a boulder you can use STRENGTH to push to the left. After
doing so, head down and right and go up and right. You'll see two
SMASHable rocks and two boulders. SMASH the top rock, then push the
boulder beneath you down, then step right and push the other
boulder up. Make your way along, down under the bridge and battle a
trainer.
Follow the path down past her and you'll come to a ladder. Go up
it. Here, get the Pokeball with a PP UP inside. Now go all the way
back to the trainer. Jump down the ledge. Head up the steps go over
the bridge. When you walk down the steps and go right, you'll find
a trainer to battle.
Head up the path. Push the boulder up one then to the left. Push
the next boulder left, then SMASH the rock. Grab the Pokeball with
the FULL RESTORE inside. Head back down. Go under the bridge and
all the way down then to the left. Go down the ladder.
Here, head right a little and up to battle a trainer.
Head under the bridge and SURF. Head left to the waterfall and use
WATERFALL to go up. There's some land there with a trainer and a
Pokeball. Battle him.
Head back to the right and down the waterfall. Head right and go
up to the next piece of land. Head around and towards the right.
You might see the ladder, but head South of it to find another
trainer.
Head up the ladder. In here, go down and grab the Pokeball with
a TM29, Psychic, inside. Head down the ladder and south of that
trainer you just fought. Go left and across the bridge to find two
trainers facing each other. Double battle opportunity.
Head right back to those two trainers, then down and right.
There's a SMASHable rock and a boulder, and then vice versa below
it. SMASH the top rock, push the boulder down, SMASH the other
rock and head up. Go up the ladder.
We're almost done! Head up the steps and right along the bridge.
Down the steps and go up to battle a trainer in red.

Hyper Potion..1200
Max Potion....2500

Max Repel......700
This is it. Head up into the building. There's a POKEMON CENTER
to the left and a POKEMART to the right. There's two guys in front
of a door. Talk to either one. They'll confirm you have all eight
badges, then let you through if you do (you should, anyway.)
If you're ready, head up through the door.
Up the ladder, you'll find your first of the ELITE FOUR, SIDNEY.
With that, you become the HOENN region CHAMPION! MAY/BRENDAN will
come. They're about to give you advice for taking on the champion
when they realize you already defeated him. BIRCH comes as well to
congratulate you. He takes a look at your Pokedex. He'll see how
many Pokemon you saw and caught. WALLACE then leads you into the
last room. MAY/BRENDAN tries to get in too, but doesn't succeed.
Only CHAMPIONS may enter that room ;).
In this last room, all records of your Pokemon battles are kept.
You'll reach the computer, enter your name and the Pokemon you used
in the final battles. A screen will appear and show the six Pokemon
you used. Their order number, level, name and sex, and ID number.
They'll be put in the HALL OF FAME.
Next you appear on screen with your Name, IDNo. and Time, and the
following message: LEAGUE CHAMPION! CONGRATULATONS!
Roll credits.

BF01. Littleroot Town
You'll be in your room. Head downstairs and MOM and DAD are at the
table in front of the tv. NORMAN will talk to you. He'll give you
something that was given to him by MR. BRINEY. It's the S.S. Ticket.
NORMAN then leaves and heads back to his Gym. The TV then alerts
you and MOM about something in HOENN. Colored Pokemon in flight.
Unknown Pokemon. MOM will ask you what color the Pokemon was (RED
or BLUE.) Choose one. Then head outside.
BIRCH and MAY/BRENDAN will be waiting for you in front of your
house. BIRCH tells you good work about before. He'll ask about your
PokeDex, then takes you to his lab. He tells you that Pokemon from
other regions are appearing, and upgrades your PokeDex to NATIONAL
mode. If you take a look at it now, TREEKO isn't the first one, but
Bulbasaur will be. It's all changed.
Head out from the Lab. You'll get a call from SCOTT. He says he's
aboard the S.S. TIDAL. There's a place he'd like you to visit. If
you're interested, go to SLATEPORT or LILYCOVE. FLY to either one
and head onto the boat.
BF02. S.S. Tidal
When you're aboard, SCOTT will come up to you. He's disembarking,
but he invites you to BATTLE FRONTIER! He says the next time you
take a ferry, you'll be able to sail to it.
Since you're on board, explore a bit. Enter the first room. There's
a couple for you to battle.
Head upstairs. Talk with the man in the lower left who's blocking
the stairs. He'll tell you it'll be some time before they reach
land, so you should rest in your cabin, No. 2. Take a rest. When
you wake up, you'll be in either LILYCOVE or SLATEPORT, whichever
is the one you didn't depart from. You'll be in front of the woman
who checks the ticket. Talk to her again and she'll check. Now you
have the option of going to BATTLE FRONTIER. Let's go.
BF03. Battle Frontier
Head up into the building. The woman on the left will ask if it's
your first time here. It is, so you'll go talk to her. She'll
welcome you then issue you the FRONTIER PASS. This lets you use
all the facilities. SCOTT then greets you.

MAWVILLE CITY Game Corner
[TRICK HOUSE I]
When you take a step forward, you feel as though you're being
watched. You'll see a sparkle of light by the cup on the table.
Go to it and examine it, and you'll find the man hiding. The
TRICK MASTER will ask if you've come to challenge him. Of course
you did. Examine the scroll he was standing in front of to enter
the "maze."
Head to the right and find a girl standing near a tree that can
be cut. Challenge her.
Head to the left and cut the tree directly in your path. Cut the
tree at the top, then the one to your right. Open the Pokeball
to get an Orange Mail. Head back down and cut the tree that's up
from a girl and a scroll, then challenge the girl
Now read the scroll and memorize the code (you don't have to
worry about remembering it yourself.) Now head to the kid with
the blue cap and cut the tree, then examine the door. Your
character will write the code from the scroll on the door and
it'll open. The TRICK MASTER will give you a RARE CANDY.
[TRICK HOUSE II]
Enter and you'll be watched again. The sparkle will be by the
tree. Examine it and find the TRICK MASTER hiding there. He'll
accept your challenge again. Examine the scroll and go inside.
This time it looks more like a maze, and certain tiles on the
floor will not be passable (they look like open trap doors, but
you can't fall in.) Head to the left and find a Pokeball
containing a WAVE MAIL. You'll see a kid in glasses to the
right, so go down and around the wall to battle him.
Head right and around. There's a round switch to step on. This
will close the trap door on the far left. Head back to the left
and over the door. Head down and grab the Pokeball with the
HARBOR MAIL inside. Head up, past the open trap door and hit the
switch. This one closes the trap door you just passed, so go over
it and head right. Step on the switch to close the door which was
near the first Pokeball you got, then head down and battle the
kid with glasses.
Head left and step on the switch. You'll see it close the door
by the kid with glasses and the secret scroll. Head over there.
Examine the scroll and you'll memorize the secret code. Head to
the door, write the code and talk to the TRICK MASTER. He'll give
you a TIMER BALL.
[TRICK HOUSE III]
For this go around, you'll need your Pokemon that learned ROCK
SMASH. The TRICK MASTER is hiding in the dresser. Enter the
scroll.
You'll see the red doors are closed and blue doors are open. For
now, head right and battle the camper.
Head straight left of that guy and step on the switch. All the
blue doors will close and red ones will open. Examine the scroll
to the bottom left of you for the secret code. Now head around up
through the open red doors and battle the camper.
You'll see two Pokeballs. The left one has a WOOD MAIL, and the
one to the right has a SHADOW MAIL. Now then, head down and hit
the switch to the right of the scroll, causing all the red doors
to close. Head right and all the way up to a closed red door and
a switch to the left. Hit it and open up all the red doors. Now
go to the door at the corner and write the secret code, and go
through.
Talk to the TRICK MASTER and recieve the HARD STONE.
[TRICK HOUSE IV]
He's hiding in the little circular window on the left. Again, go
inside.
You'll need STRENGTH for this one. Go up and find two boulders
and a Pokeball to the upper left. Move one of the boulders then
head up and the left. There's a trainer there, so battle her.
Head down and grab the MECH MAIL from the Pokeball. Now, head
down and to the right. You'll see the scroll for this house. Go
inbetween the two boulders and push the bottom one down. Get the
code from the scroll, then go up to the boulder you didn't move
and push it up. Head left and battle the trainer there.
BATTLE: BLACK BELT YUJI
Makuhita Lv. 26
484 EXP.
Machoke Lv. 26
813 EXP.
832 credits
Head up and push the boulder down the long narrow path. You'll
see a trainer to the right.
Now, time for the puzzle. Push the boulder up before you up
once. Go around and push it to the right. Now head left and up
and the boulder to the right. Put the code on the door and enter.
The TRICK MASTER will give you a SMOKE BALL.
