1. Introduction [Intro1]
----------------------------------------------------
This guide will help inform you as to how you go
about cloning Pokemon and items in Pokemon Emerald
Version. This will work for any Pokemon or item, and
is fairly safe, as long as you follow this guide.
*DISCLAIMER*
If you lose your Pokemon or have your data
corrupted, I will not be held responsible. It is
your own fault. If you follow the guide to clone
your Pokemon, you will not have any consequences,
and therefore should have no problem.
If by chance you do happen to lose a Pokemon or save
file, please let me know by e-mail, for two reasons.
The first reason is so that I can inform you of what
was done wrong, so that it will not happen again.
The second reason is that if something happens even
after following all steps, I can try to find out the
cause, and find preventative measures.
*END DISCLAIMER*
----------------------------------------------------
2. Before You Can Clone [uWait1]
----------------------------------------------------
Here is what you need in order to be able to clone
your Pokemon:
1) Access to the Battle Frontier
2) Two Pokemon Eligible to enter the Battle Frontier
In order to clone your Pokemon or items in Pokemon
Emerald, you will need to have access to the Battle
Frontier in the game. To gain access to the Battle
Frontier, you need to beat the Elite Four. After
they are defeated, Scott will ask to speak to you on
the SS. Tidal. Once you get there, Scott will tell
you that you can now visit the Battle Frontier
whenever you want when boarding the ferry. After
leaving the ferry, talk to the lady you see, and
tell her you'd like to go to the Frontier.
You will want to head to the Battle Tower, so head
straight from the entrance of the Battle Frontier.
Once you are past the Battle Dome, turn right and
you are there.
This is the location you will want to be in so that
you are able to clone. You will need to have two
Pokemon in your party that are eligible to compete
in the Battle Tower. The Pokemon that are not
eligible are as follows:
Mewtwo
Mew
Lugia
Ho-oh
Celebi
Kyogre
Groudon
Rayquaza
Jirachi
Deoxys
Egg
All other Pokemon are allowed, and you need to have
at least two of the allowed Pokemon with you in
order to accomplish this glitch.
----------------------------------------------------
3. How To Clone Pokemon [Clone1]
----------------------------------------------------
*DISCLAIMER*
Only attempt to clone 5 Pokemon at a time maximum,
otherwise one of them will be lost during cloning.
*END DISCLAIMER*
Cloning is actually quite easy, as long as you
follow the steps below. If you do this, there is a
pretty low risk, and you will not lose any of your
Pokemon in the process. The important thing to
remember, is that you should not turn of your game
while it is saving. This is where people mess it up,
and lose there Pokemon. People also sometimes mess
up the order that you withdraw/deposit your Pokemon.
Remeber this: deposit your Pokemon, then withdraw
them. Don't worry, it'll make sense in a little bit.
1) Attach all items you wish to clone to the Pokemon
you will be using to clone. You can use any of
the five Pokemon in your party. All Pokemon you
are planning to deposit will be cloned, so attach
the items accordingly.
2) Go to the PC in the Battle Tower, and deposit the
Pokemon that you wish to clone into Lanette's PC.
3) Exit out of the PC and choose to save your
progress.
4) Open the PC, and withdraw all the Pokemon you
just deposited.
5) Talk with the Wireless Attendant on the far right
of the Battle Tower.
6) Pick two Pokemon that are eligible to compete in
the Battle Tower.
7) Select the option "Yes", when you are asked
"Before entering a BATTLE ROOM, your progress
must be saved. Is that okay?"
8) There will be a short pause after selecting
"Yes". Wait until this pause is over.
9) She will now ask you "Would you like to save the
game?" This is the point where you will turn off
your game.
10) Restart your game. The cloned Pokemon will now
be in both your PC and your party.
----------------------------------------------------
4. How To Clone Items Efficiently [Clone2]
----------------------------------------------------
Cloning Pokemon is great, but cloning items is a
slow process, if you follow the steps above. Luckily
for you, there is a much faster way to clone items,
that will allow you to clone a numerous amount of
items. Here are the steps that allow you to mass
clone your items.
1) Go to the PC in the Battle Tower. Move your
Pokemon to Box 1 for easy access.
2) Select "Move Items" and move the items you wish
to clone onto the Pokemon in Box 1.
3) Exit out of the PC and choose to save your
progress.
4) Open the PC and select "Move Items". Take all of
the items you wish to clone from the Pokemon
holding them.
The cloned items will now
be in both your bag and your PC.
----------------------------------------------------
5. Why This Glitch Works [Answr1]
----------------------------------------------------
During that pause in step 8, the game creates a
partial save of your game. This saves everything
except the boxes in your PC. When you withdraw your
Pokemon from the box and go to create this partial
save, your party is saved, but the PC isn't. This
means that turning off the game at this point means
that the Pokemon in your party are saved, the items
in your bag are saved, but the PC reverts back to
when you last saved, (after depositing your
Pokemon/items). This gives you duplicates of your
Pokemon or items.
Here is an illistrated example of how it works:
Deposit Pokemon you wish to clone

\/
Save game (Creating a full save)

\/
Withdraw Pokemon you wish to clone

\/
Talk with wireless attendant

\/
Go through menus (Partial save is made)

\/
Turn off game

\/
Start game

\/
Partial save party is loaded, Full save PC is loaded

\/
Pokemon is cloned
----------------------------------------------------
6. Potential Issues When Cloning [Trubl1]
----------------------------------------------------
There are two potential issues that can occur when
doing the cloning glitch. The first issue is that
you can lose your Pokemon after turning off your
game. The second issue is corruption occuring to
your save file. Detailed below are the ways to avoid
both of these issues.
----------------------------------------------------
6.01 Missing Pokemon/Items [NoPok1]
----------------------------------------------------
Problem: Pokemon or items attempted to clone are not
there and original Pokemon/Item has disappeared
How To Avoid: This is avoided by keeping the correct
order while performing this glitch. You must deposit
your Pokemon/items first, save, and then withdraw
the Pokemon/items. If you deposit your Pokemon/items
last, when the partial save is created and you turn
off, you could lose both potential versions.
----------------------------------------------------
6.02 Corrupted Data [Crupt1]
----------------------------------------------------
Problem: Data is corrupted upon turning on game
How To Avoid: This can occur if you turn off during
the pause in step eight of this guide. Turning off
while saving is rarely a good idea, and Pokemon is
no exception. Turning off while it is in the partial
save, has the possibility to corrupt the entire game
save, so don't do it. That will prevent corruption.

7. Frequently Asked Questions [uFAQs1]
----------------------------------------------------
Here are where the Frequently Asked Questions will
be put. Please look here before e-mailing me a
question. If your question if not listed here, feel
free to e-mail me.
----------------------------------------------------
7.01 Redoing Legendaries/Move Tutors? [uRedo1]
----------------------------------------------------
Q: Will this glitch allow me to redo events such as
fighting legendaries more than once or use one
time use move tutors again?
A: No, the glitch only allows for duplication of
Pokemon and items. The partial save will save
EVERYTHING except for the PC.
----------------------------------------------------
7.02 Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire? [RbSpr1]
----------------------------------------------------
Q: Does this work for Pokemon Sapphire/Ruby?
A: No, as those versions do not have access to the
Battle Frontier. The Battle Tower in these
versions does not work for this glitch.
----------------------------------------------------
7.03 Cloned vs. Regular? [Dfrnc1]
----------------------------------------------------
Q: Is there any way to differentiate a cloned
Pokemon/Item from a normal Pokemon/Item?
A: No, a cloned Pokemon/Item is exactly the same as
the original. Think of it as copying and pasting
text on your computer. There is no way to tell
copied text from the original.
----------------------------------------------------
7.04 Wireless Connecting? [Wrles1]
----------------------------------------------------
Q: Do I need someone to connect with when I get to
the wireless attendant?
A: No, you can do this glitch by yourself.
----------------------------------------------------
7.05 Using a DS? [UseDS1]
----------------------------------------------------
Q: Can I clone my Pokemon while playing Emerald on a
DS?
A: Yes, there is no issue cloning while playing
Pokemon Emerald on a DS.
----------------------------------------------------
7.06 Legendary Pokemon? [Legnd1]
----------------------------------------------------
Q: Can you clone legendary Pokemon?
A: Yes, legendary Pokemon work exactly the same as
regular Pokemon do.
----------------------------------------------------
7.07 Which Items? [Items1]
----------------------------------------------------
Q: Which items can I clone?
A: Any items that are able to be held by a Pokemon.
All items in the following pockets can be cloned:
"ITEMS", "BALLS", "TMs & HMs", "BERRIES". The
items in the pocket "KEY ITEMS" cannot be cloned.
