Welcome to my Need for Speed: Most Wanted FAQ, based on the Game Boy
Advance version. I figured out there are FAQs for the other
versions of the game, so I decided to write one for the GBA version.
It is not very much like the others, but it's a very nice racing
game, for Game Boy Advance.
This is my second GBA FAQ, and my 14th complete guide. I stopped
writing guides for quite some time, but I'm back with this one.

02. Basics

02.01 The Beginning
----------------------------------------------------------------------
As you start the game, you are supposed to create a profile for
yourself, if you haven't already made one. Then you should choose
a car to buy with the 1000 points you got. There are three cars you
can buy: Lexus IS300, VW Golf GTI, and Cobalt SS.
The Lexus IS300 is the worst of the three so you shouldn't buy it.
Instead either buy a VW Golf GTI (which is the fastest one of them),
or buy Cobalt SS, which has better handling. I bought a Golf,
although the Cobalt also has good acceleration.
You can paint your car after you buy them, for free. Go to the
Safehouse.

02.02 Main Menu

The main menu contains the following modes:
O Quick Play
In this mode you can either choose Quick Race for a random
race.
Single Race playing against other racers, which has three
types of races. In Circuit, you'll race others in a
circuit within a few laps. In Point 2 Point, you race
from a starting point to a finish point (no laps). In Lap
KO, the last racer in each laps loses the race until one
remains.
In Tollbooth, you play alone but you must reach the
checkpoints before the time finishes to extend it.
There's no end to it. So you should get the highest score
by staying for too long.
Take note that you can change the settings with the L
button.
O Career
This is the main mode of the game. Unlike the other
versions of the game, you won't roam around and get to the
places you want to go to. Otherwise, you should just
choose the stuff you want to do. Too bad, eh?
In Safehouse, you can upgrade your cars, or buy new ones.
In Race Event, you can race in events to get points and
other things. They are not the main thing is the mode,
but you should finish them all.
In Blacklist, you can view the cars of your 15 main
enemies in the name, which are called the blacklist. Of
course, the less the number of him/her, the tougher
he/she is. That means blacklist 1 is the hardest.
In Rap Sheet, you can see a summary of your progress,
cars, scores, etc.

You can view the Rap Sheet here too, and you can create a
new profile or load an older one, change the settings of
the game, and view the credits.
O Safehouse
You can upgrade your cars or buy new ones here, too.

02.04 Tips
----------------------------------------------------------------------
O Always use the R button to slow down your car's speed in
turnings. This is way better than the normal brake (B button).
O Upgrade your car's performance from time to time. This will make
it easier for you to finish the events.
O Much like the Hot Pursuit series, there are wanted levels. The
police will annoy you as you get more wanted stars, so watch out
then.
O Try to make use of the shortcuts in the tracks. You can save
time, and you may be able to catch up if you are not in the 1st
position.
O Try your best not to get close to the cop cars in the barricade
events to avoid losing them. And do not clash with anything
else. Just find a way to pass every road block without clashing
with anything.
O From Joseph Clarke: To earn fast money, defeat the chapter 6
blacklister race. Every time you do that, you will get 900
points, also every race will take about 35 seconds. If you do
that for 10 minutes, you will get 9000 points!

Each car has performance and visual upgrades to make it better on
the street. For performance, this is what each part does:
O Upgraded engines upgrades your acceleration and top speed.
O Upgraded turbo upgrades your top speed.
O Upgraded transmission upgrades your acceleration.
O Upgraded brakes upgrades your braking power.
O Upgraded chassis upgrades your handling.
For visual, this is what each part does.
O Body kits helps your car to give it some personality.
O Stock rims just don't cut it; add some badass rims to make
your car look sick.
O Paint helps your car to stand out; you get to choose up to 21
different types of paints. If I were you, I would select
the boss paint for each car to show that you defeated the
blacklister that had that paint for his or her car.
Below this paragraph is a big list of the car upgrades for you to
buy. There would be a cost for the car, the visuals and
performance. At the end of each car will be a total cost for each
car and at the very bottom of the list would be the total cost of
the whole safehouse (or everything that is in the safehouse). So
race hard, buy everything because that's the main point of NFSMW.
Own the streets and the safehouse. And remember, no cash, no parts.
