---------------------------------------------------------II. Introduction (~I)
==============================================================================
For quite sometime now I have been searching through the message boards trying
to pick up on some of the most FAQ. I wrote this FAQ to help answer those
questions. I really do hope that nOObs will read this instead of asking on
the message board, but that is probably too much to ask.

----------------------------------------------------IV. Playing the game (~PG)
==============================================================================
If you havn't played one of the MegaMan Battle Network games before you may be
a little confused at how the game works. This section will hopefully help you
to understand how to play the game.
In this game you play as Lan in the real world and as MegaMan in the cyber
world. In the cyber world you will encounter random viruses.
When you first enter a battle you will be on a battle field that looks like
this:
__ __ __ __ __ __
| | | | | | |
|__|__|__|__|__|__|
| |M | | | |V |
|__|__|__|__|__|__|
| | | | |V | |
|__|__|__|__|__|__|
M= MegaMan
V= Virus (the viruses may be in different places)
Then a screen will come up there you will be able to choose chips that you can
use in battle. Now, you are able to choose what chips you would like to use
in battle. Now you must follow these two rules when choosing chips:
RULE 1: You can select chips that are the same (e.g. Cannon A and Cannon B)
RULE 2: You can select chips that have the same code (e.g. LongSword Y and
Sword Y)
After you select you chips you go over to ok to use those chips in battle.
Now, say you get a bunch of chips that you don't want. Select chips by
following the same rules before then click add. Then you will have to survive
a round without chips. Once you get back to the selection screen you will
have more and different chips to choose from.
==============================================================================
------------------------------------------------V. Blue/White Difference (~BW)
==============================================================================
One of the most questions that is always getting asked is what is the
difference between Blue and White and what is better? This section of this
FAQ will answer the question about the differences, and the information will
help you decide what game you think is better. I will not say what I think
are the better chips, I will let it be up to you to decide what ones are
better.
--------------------Difference 1: Giga Chips----------------------------------
The biggest difference between the two games is the differnce in chips.
Here is a list of the chips that are exclusive to each version. The chips
that are across from each other are what trade places with each other.
Blue White Obtained From
=================== =================== ===============================
| Folder Back |<-->| Navi Recycle | Merchant in Undernet 4 |
| Dark Aura |<-->| Serenade | Complete Serenade Time-Trials|
| Alpha Arm Omega |<-->| Alpha Arm Sigma | Get all 7 Stars |
| Delta Ray Edge |<-->| Balance | Netbattle Friend |
| Bass + |<-->| Bass | Defeat Bass GS |
=================== =================== ===============================
Now, I will describe what each chip does and how it can help you and hurt you
compared to the other version.
Folder Back vs. Navi Recycle
Folder Back
Pros: When you use Folder Back all of your chips that you have used will be
put back into your folder to be used again. Your preset chip will also
be reset so you will be able to re-use that as well. The best thing
about Folder Back is that it resets itself, so that you will have
unlimited uses of it resulting in unlimited chips!
Cons: The only bad thing about this chip is that in NetBattling a friend it
will reset their chips as well.
Navi Recycle
Pros: When you use Navi Recycle the last Navi chip used is recycled, and if
you used any other chips with that Navi Recycle then they are recycled
as well. This chips works on some P.A.s (e.g. BigHeart, BodyGrd, and
GutsShoot). It also recycles two of the best giga chips, Serenade and
Bass. Probably one of the best things about this game is that you can
preset it.
Cons: The only problem about this chip is that without Navi Chips it doesn't
work.
Dark Aura vs. Serenade
Dark Aura
Pros: When you use Dark Aura you will recieve an Aura that gives will block
anything under 300 damage (600 if you are on a holy panel). Also it
can be preset (you will have to put the +5 reg mem in your
Navi Customizer, though.
Cons: To be able to use this chip you will have to use the chip called hole
before you use Dark Aura. A NrthWind will take Dark Aura away.
Serenade
Pros: If you use this chip correctly it is possible to have it deal over
3000 damage. That makes it the most powerful chip in the both versions.
However, to make it so powerful you will have to use Navi+ and Atk+
chips. Then to get make it really accurate you have to use area grabs
to lock the attack on your enemy.
Cons: To get it to do a lot of damage you will need to do some work, and you
will probably have to go through a bunch of chips in your folder to get
the ones you need to get the most out of this chip. If your enemy has
used a lot of area grabs against you the attack will become very weak.
Alpha Arm Omega vs. Alpha Arm Sigma
Alpha Arm Omega
Pros: This attack is a rocket from Alpha that does 500 damage in one single
attack... that sadly enough is about it.
Cons: When you use this attack Alpha will come down into the middle of your
area, and if anything is anything on that square then the attack won't
work. This attack only attacks the back two rows of the stage causing
the front row to be open. If the rocket that Alpha launches hits an
object then it will explode. Yet another problem with this chip is it
comes in the chip code "V", which is very rare.
Alpha Arm Sigma
Pros: This attack is the most powerful single attack in the game. When you
use this attack Alpha will drop down into the middle of the battle field
and use his lightning attack dealing 400 to the top and bottom of the
battle field and then 800 to the middle.
Cons: When you use this attack Alpha will come down into the middle of your
area, and if anything is anything on that square then the attack won't
work. If there is an objec in the way the attack won't go through it.
Yet another problem with this chip is it comes in the chip code "V",
which is very rare.
Delta Ray Edge vs. Balance
Delta Ray Edge
Pros: This attack is capable of doing 660 damage, and the attack is very
accurate.
Cons: This attack is very hard to make it keep going. It take a lot of time
and work to master it.
Balance
Pros: This attack removes a half of everybody's HP. This helps to defeat
enemies with high HP. Works great with Muramasa and LifeSwrd Y.
Cons: The only problem with this attack is that it will hurt you as well as
your enemy.
Bass + vs. Bass
Bass +
Pros: This attack does 550 damage and the nice thing about the attack is that
it the attack pierces enemy shields.
Cons: To be able to use this chip you need to use Hole chip. It also only
hits one row of enemies so that it is a bad attack if you have to defeat
multiple enemies. Also Bass + comes in the rare code "X", which makes
it hard to fit into a folder.
Bass
Pros: When you use this attack Bass will come down and use his buster attack.
He will shoot randomly around the stage. This works great with prisms,
because it hits those prisms and shoots your enemies multiple times.
Cons: To be able to use this chip you need to use the Hole Chip. This attack
is easily blocked with any object. Also Bass comes in the rare code
"X". which makes it hard to fit into a folder.
--------------------Difference 2: Mega Chips----------------------------------
The only diffence in Mega Chips are the two different bosses' chips. In white
you get to fight MistMan to get MistMan chips, and in blue you fight BowlMan
to get BowlMan chips. However, you will have to trade these with a friend to
get them between the two versions because you need them to complete your
library.
--------------------Difference 3: Bosses--------------------------------------
There are a couple differences in bosses. In blue you will fight BowlMan
instead of MistMan. Also in blue you get to fight Mr. Famous' new Navi named
Punk. However, sad enough you can't get Punk's chip it is only available
though a Capcom Event.
--------------------Difference 4: Styles--------------------------------------
There is only one difference between the styles in the two versions. In blue
version you will get Shadow Style which allows you to turn invisible when you
charge your buster. In white version you get Ground Style which allows you to
crack ground when you charge your buster.
--------------------Difference 5: Navi Customizer Blocks----------------------
The only difference in the Navi Customizer Blocks are the blocks that are
gained from leveling up shadow style and ground style. As you level up these
different styles you will gain differnt blocks exclusive to white and blue.
--------------------Difference 6: Shops---------------------------------------
Another difference between the two games are the shops. The shops sell items
that in the other version you would have to search for. I don't know the
exact differences, because I didn't write them down.
--------------------Difference 7: Random Things-------------------------------
Some other things are that are different is the box art, start-up screen, some
of the graphics are different, and the Blue Mystery Data and Green Mystery
Data are a little different.

==============================================================================
--------------------HP Memory-------------------------------------------------
HPMemory is an upgrade that you have to get. Without it MegaMan's HP will not
go up, and it would be very difficult to win battles. Every HPMemory you pick
up will add 20HP to MegaMan. There is a total of 45 HPMemory in the game,
meaning MegaMan's HP can reach 1000HP (Higher if you use the Navi Customizer).
The HPMemory below is split up into two sections. The first section is Shops.
The Shops section lists all of the HPMemory you have to buy from NetDealers.
The second section all of the other places you can find HPMemory (e.g BMD,
PMD, jobs, etc.).

--------------------RegUps----------------------------------------------------
RegUps are upgrades that boost MegaMan's Memory. Increasing MegaMan's Memory
allows you to preset chips that require a higher amount of Memory. There are
three types of RegUps. Those three types are RegUp1, RegUp2, and RegUp3.
RegUp1s upgrade MegaMan's Memory by 1, RegUP2s by 2, and RegUp3s by 3. The
RegUps are split up into sections below. Those sections are RegUp1s RegUp2s,
and RegUp3s. MegaMan's memory can be increased up to 50mb (60mb with Navi
Customizer).

The style changes are a big part of MegaMan Battle Network 3. You will get
your first style change during the BubbleMan incident. Everything about a
style change is good except you get a weakness. The elements are chosen
randomly. After you master a style then after 100 battles you will get
another.

==============================================================================
---------------------------------------------------------------XI. Bosses (~B)
==============================================================================
The bosses are listed in alphabetical order. MistMan is not in this list,
because you do not fight him in blue version. Oh, and JapanMan (hate that
name), is listed as YamatoMan.
Alpha
HP: 2000
Element: Normal
Location: Inside WWW base, he is the last boss you will fight.
Prize: Receive 1 star
Make sure that Fast Gauge is set for your default chip. Then use Magnum 2
chips to make the purple part appear on him. Once he is open use RndmMetr.
Keep using RndmMetr until Alpha is defeated. The fight will go fairly quick
as long as the RndmMetrs don't get killed by his attacks. To be sure that
they don't get destroyed by Alpha place the RndmMetr as shown in the diagram
below, and move Megaman to one of the places shown:
M=Megaman
0=Don't move Megaman Here
A=Alpha
U=Empty Squares
R=Where RndmMetr should go
0 0 0 R U U
M M M U A U
M M M U U U
Move Megaman around freely in the areas labeled with "M" after placing
RndmMetr. Once RndmMetr is gone then go and place another RndmMetr one the
area labeled "R". Continue dodging his attacks and placing RndmMetr until he
is dead. It should only take 3 RndmMetr to kill Alpha.
Another strategy to use for fighting Alpha is to use Z-Cannon 1, 2, or 3.
They will quickly open him and deal quite a bit of damage. Then once Z-Cannon
is over, pull off P.A. MstrStyle to probably finish him off.
==============================================================================
Bass V1
HP: 1000 with 100 shield
Element: Normal
Location: Just before you fight Alpha
Prize: Zenny
Bass V1 is fairly simple to defeat. All that is needed to defeat his are
chips that will do at least 100 damage. The chips that work great are
RndmMetr, BlkBomb1, 2, or 3, and StepSwrd. Using those will get rid of the
shield allowing damage to be dealt to Bass. Using Grass Stage and BlkBombs
really help take Bass down quick.
Bass GS
HP: 2000 Hp with 200 shield
Element: Normal
Location: Give Bugfrag trader 300 bugfrags in Secret Area 3
Prize: Bass+
Bass GS is extremely difficult to beat, because of his 200 hp shield. Doing
200 damage in one hit and then turning around and attacking with a powerful
attack before his shield comes back can sometimes be very hard. Probably the
best way to get rid of his shield is to use NrthWind, then use LifeSword P.A.
or HeatSpread P.A. Once he gets back his shield use Folderback to get back
LifeSword or HeatSpread. Keep doing that until you defeat him.
==============================================================================
Beastman V1
Hp: 500
Element: Normal
Location: The second boss you will face in the game and is at end the zoo
computer.
Prize: Zenny
Beastman V2
Hp: 700
Element: Normal
Location: The bottom part of SciLab 1 take first turn off of main path.
Prize: Beastman B
Beastman V3
Hp: 900
Element: Normal
Location: In the dog house in front of Lan's house and use sneakrun.
Prize: Zenny or Beastman V1, V2, V3, or V4 B
Beastman is a very easy boss to deafeat for one reason, and that is he has
very low hp. The best way to beat his is to use a P.A. like 2xhero, MstrStyle
or DeluxeHero. If you have those chips that are needed to use one of those
P.As are the very startof the battle it will be very simple to defeat.
