-=  2. Introduction -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

One of the first games of the racing genre for the Gameboy Advance is also a
pretty decent game. The controls are a bit tough when making the sharp turns
without going off the track, but if you've played other realistic racers, you
should get the hang of this one pretty quickly. There are many tracks to race
on, and many cars, tracks, and performance parts to unlock, which makes you
want to do well in each track to unlock everything. Anyway, GT Advance is a
fun game and is recommended for those who want a racer besides Mario Kart and
F-Zero to play.

Championship
------------

Here, you can race in one of four classes (only Beginner is open early in the
game) against 7 other computer controlled racers. You must go through 3 laps
on each track, and must place either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in order to
progress. If you get 4th-8th place, you lose. You also unlock one or more
secrets if you come in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place; here's a quick list of what
you get for each rank:

1st Place: New track, new car, new part
2nd Place: New track, new part
3rd Place: New track
4th-8th Place: Lost; win nothing

Quick Race
----------

This is more of a practice run for the Championship mode, since you race
against the 7 other cars, but it doesn't count towards/against you here. You
can only race on tracks you've already unlocked though.

Time Attack
-----------

Choose an already open track to race on, and try to beat the best records in
lap/total race times. You are all alone in this mode, so you can concentrate
on going quick instead of passing other vehicles.

Practice
--------

As the name implies, it's a practice mode! You're alone in a square arena,
and you can just ride around anywhere to practice with whatever car you
chose. You should select this mode first if you never played this game
before, so you can get an idea of how to handle racing.

VS
--

Link up with up to 3 other Gameboy Advance units and participate in a race
against other human/computer opponents. I don't have much of any information
here, but if someone has played this mode and can send in stuff regarding it,
it'd definitely be appreciated!

-=  6. Tracks -=
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Note: For the Part/Car Unlocked listings for each track, that's what you open
up after beating that track in Championship mode in 1st or 2nd place. You get
a new car, part, and track if you get 1st, a new part and track for 2nd, and
just a new track for 3rd.

================
Beginner's Class
================

Circuit-1 HORNET
   Part Unlocked: Filter (Special)
Car Unlocked: ACURA INTEGRA TypeR (Honda)
Description: Here is the very first track of the game, and it has some
rather tough turns near the end too. It's mostly a straight
course, but the 3 hairpin turns towards the end of the lap
can be difficult to get around, so be sure to slow down and
let go of the A button when going through those turns, or
else you'll go in the grass and really mess up!

Winding-1 CROSS
   Part Unlocked: N/A
   Car Unlocked: CUBE (Nissan)
Description: Now this course is where it starts to get pretty
challenging! Basically the entire track is really narrow,
and the track intersects in the middle, which leaves the
risk of crashing if 2 cars go through at once. The track
gets wider on the turns at either end of the track, but it
becomes narrow very quickly at the end, plus the turns can
be tough to handle at times, so be careful and you'll get
                through.

Highway-1 NIGHTWALK
   Part Unlocked: CPU (Special)
   Car Unlocked: bB (Toyota)
Description: This is one tough course, especially if you haven't already
gotten inclined to making quick turns. There are a couple of
regular turns that aren't so bad, but there are also 2
hairpins that'll cause you to slam into a wall if you're not
careful. For the second hairpin turn, stay towards the left
in it because a right turn follows directly after it, and
you'll hit the wall if you don't stay towards the left.

City-1 MAIN STREET
   Part Unlocked: N/A
   Car Unlocked: COROLLA LEVIN (Toyota)
Description: Here, you're racing around city blocks and that can be quite
tough, especially at 120 miles per hour! There's one hairpin
turn in the beginning, and the rest of the turns are a bit
sharp, so be careful or you'll crash! As a quick note, when
you see the arrow sign appear telling you to turn, you can
drive on the sidewalk to cut the corner if you want, since
that may/may not save you some time if you're not good at
turning sharply on the main road.

Dirt-1 ZERO
   Part Unlocked: Muffler (Steel)
   Car Unlocked: MR-S (Toyota)
Description: This is a fairly simple course to get through, since it's
just a regular straightaway track with 180 degree turns on
each end. The road is a dirt path, but that shouldn't be too
much of a problem at all if you can handle steering through
the turns at both ends of the track.

Highway-2 BAYSIDE
   Part Unlocked: N/A
Car Unlocked: MARK II TourerV (Toyota)
Description: On this second highway track, there are many more hairpins
and other turns to deal with than before. The two hairpins
you go through in the beginning are enough to make you lose
control and hit the sides as you try making the following
turn. Also, there is a barrier that separates the track from
the rest of the road along the second half of the track, so
be careful not to crash into it!

Dirt-2 HALFDUMP 1
   Part Unlocked: Suspension (Springs)
   Car Unlocked: SILVIA (Nissan)
Description: This dirt course is a bit tougher than the first one you
played on. The wide right turn in the beginning can be
tough, especially when you whip around it after reaching
peak speeds. The orange track for the second half is more
straight and quicker to get through, so that's where you'll
pick up all your speed most likely. For the first half, if
you have trouble with making the left turn after the wide
right, cut through the grass to get ahead of another car if
you can. Of course you'll slow down to about 50 mph, but at
least you won't crash into a wall!

Winding-2 SPEEDSTAR
   Part Unlocked: Aerodynamics (Special)
   Car Unlocked: midget II (Daihatsu)
Description: Here is the final course of Beginner's Class, and it's also
the hardest and longest by far! The turns are tough and the
road is narrow, so it's going to take several tries to get
first place here. I HIGHLY recommend releasing the A button
when going through each turn to avoid crashing and/or
spinning out. Also, you better be nothing short of excellent
at making quick and sharp turns if you wish to get through
this with a decent rank; believe me, it's HARD!

============
Middle Class
============

Circuit-2 BULLET
   Part Unlocked: Engine (Light tune)
   Car Unlocked: SKYLINE GT-R (Nissan)
Description: For the first track of Medium Class, it is a pretty simple
one to boot. The turns aren't too bad, and can easily be
maneuvered through if you slow down a little while making
the  turns. It's a quick 3-lap race that you probably won't
lose on, especially after getting through much tougher
                tracks prior to this one.

Winding-3 TURNPIKE
   Part Unlocked: N/A
   Car Unlocked: CELICA (Toyota)
Description: As the name implies, this is a VERY winding course! There
are many hairpin turns and a couple of zig-zags that require
quick reflexes to get around. I recommend you really slow
down when going around the zig-zag parts to avoid crashing
and to steer through it better. It'll take a few tries, as
will basically all following tracks, but once you get an
idea of where everything is, you'll be in good shape.

Highway-3 FREEWAY
   Part Unlocked: Grip (Special)
   Car Unlocked: S2000 (Honda)
Description: This is a fast-paced road with not many tight turns to make.
Most of the track is straight without turns, so it helps
when you want to speed up and pass other racers. I still
advise you to be cautious when going around the hairpin
turns; that way you can keep a decent speed and continue
                without crashing (hopefully).

City-2 DASH
   Part Unlocked: N/A
   Car Unlocked: CELICA (Toyota)
Description: Now, this course can be VERY tricky because the track is on
the city streets, which means that other streets seem to be
the way, but really aren't. It may take a few runs to get
the idea of what is and isn't the real track, but when you
do, it really isn't too tough to complete.

Dirt-3 DIRT PARK
   Part Unlocked: Muffler (Stainless)
Car Unlocked: LANCER GSR Evolution VI (Mitsubishi)
Description: On yet another dirt track, it's a pretty simple course when
compared to previous tracks in this class. The track for the
most part is straight with hardly any turns. There are a
couple of hairpins and regular turns to make, but they're
wide enough so you won't have to totally slow down to make
the turns. Be careful on the last hairpin when turning
though because I seem to keep on spinning out there, and I
don't want everyone else making that turn to do that too!

Circuit-3 BIG TRAP
   Part Unlocked: N/A
   Car Unlocked: SILVIA (Nissan)
Description: Here is one of the more difficult tracks in this game! The
track itself is pretty small, but there are MANY wavy turns
and hairpins to go through, which basically prevent you from
whipping around at top speed here! Take it easy and practice
a bit, and you'll be able to get through this one as well as
                any other track.

Winding-4 CAUTION
   Part Unlocked: Suspension (Sports)
   Car Unlocked: CHASER TourerV (Toyota)
Description: Now, THIS is a hellish course because it is VERY tough to
get through! There are basically no straight paths here, and
the road is narrow and tough to navigate, especially on all
the turns. I HIGHLY recommend that you don't wail through
here, but to keep the speed down and avoid crashing; that
way you'll be able to keep up and possibly win.

City-3 RUNNING FREE
   Part Unlocked: Engine (Middle tune)
   Car Unlocked: RX-7 (Mazda)
Description: This final course in the Medium Class is fairly quick and
simple. There are a few straightaways to build up speed, and
the turns are not bad at all. I'd suggest a practice run to
get a feel for the track, then when you play it for real,
you will fly through it so easily!

================
High Speed Class
================

Circuit-4 DRIFT PARK
   Part Unlocked: Weight (Special)
Car Unlocked: LANCER GSR Evolution III (Mitsubishi)
Description: A rather simple track to open the High Speed Class is just
what this is. It's a mostly smooth ride, with a couple of
sharp turns in the beginning. Cut through the grass for the
tight zig-zag turns in the first half of the course, since
it'd be easier to do so than to stay on the track itself.

Winding-5 DOGLAKE
   Part Unlocked: N/A
   Car Unlocked: SKYLINE GT-R (Nissan)
Description: This is EASILY one of the most difficult tracks you'll have
to deal with in this game! The turns are sharp, there are no
shortcuts around corners and such, and it's hard to maintain
a high speed and survive the VERY winding road! As with all
tough courses, it'll take you many tries to get it right, so
be patient and you'll eventually win here.

Highway-4 OUTBURN
   Part Unlocked: Muffler (Titanium)
   Car Unlocked: Supra (Toyota)
Description: When compared to the previous track, this is VERY easy to
get through! There are still several hairpins and turns to
make on this highway-themed track, but it's fast-paced and
not too hard to stay on course. It's still necessary to slow
down before turns though, so you don't crash/spin out, but
that's all part of winning here!

City-4 YELLOW POST
   Part Unlocked: N/A
   Car Unlocked: LEGACY B4 (Subaru)
Description: This mirrored track is one of the easiest tracks you'll race
on at this point in the game. The turns aren't too sharp and
there are many straightaways to build speed on. You could
easily get 1st place on the first couple of runs on this
course if you tried; it doesn't take nearly as much effort
                here either!

Dirt-4 RESPONSE
   Part Unlocked: Suspension (Race)
   Car Unlocked: ACURA NSX (Honda)
Description: On this dirt track, there are also several straightaways and
hardly any turns. There are a couple of hairpins, which you
can easily get around if you slow down a little, as well as
a couple of wide regular turns. It's nothing you haven't
done, so this won't take too long to get through.

Circuit-5 ROUGH
   Part Unlocked: N/A
   Car Unlocked: GTO (Mitsubishi)
Description: Of course, this is a bit more on the tough side than the
last two tracks were. The road is narrow and wavy, and there
are several sharp turns to navigate. Take a few practice
runs and practice going fast around the track, and you'll be
                able to win this race.

Highway-5 STARDUST
   Part Unlocked: Engine (Full tune)
   Car Unlocked: MX-5 Miata (Mazda)
Description: Here is another fast-paced and fairly simple highway track.
There is a long straightaway after a quick right in the
beginning, followed by two hairpins, so be ready to slow
down enough to make it around those turns! Other than that,
it's a fast ride that you can get through and win quite
                easily!

Dirt-5 INLINE FOUR
   Part Unlocked: Seat (Special)
   Car Unlocked: SKYLINE GT-R (Nissan)
Description: The final dirt track in this particular class is pretty wide
and is great for cruising at high speeds around it. The only
time I'd actually slow down is for the zig-zag turn in the
first half of the lap. For the rest of the turns, then track
is wide enough, but I'd still recommend you slow down just a
                little to make it safely.

==================
Professional Class
==================

Circuit-6 FOX
   Car Unlocked: RX-7 (Mazda)
Description: This first Professional Class course looks simple, and it
is, quite honestly. There aren't any major turns to worry
too much about, besides the two hairpins, one after another.
If you intend on coming in 1st for this race in Championship
mode, you better be really fast and master slowing down
enough to get around the hairpins, then speed up again to
                keep up with the others!

Winding-6 SKYLINE
   Car Unlocked: Fairlady Z (Nissan)
Description: When compared to the previous couple of "Winding" tracks,
this one is much easier to get through. There are still some
hairpins and other turns to watch out for, but it's nothing
you can't handle at this point. Be quick and skilled in
handling the turns and win the race!

Highway-6 BLACK EYE
   Car Unlocked: LEGACY TouringWagon (Subaru)
Description: Besides the few hairpin turns in the first half of the
track, this won't be too hard for you at all. The course is
                very straightforward and you can gain speed rather easily;
just be careful and ready for the rough turns along the way
and you will be just fine. It may take a few tries to get
used to the track, but once you get the hang of it, you'll
find it quite simple as well.

City-5 GOOD LINE
   Car Unlocked: ARISTO (Toyota)
Description: Again, here's another straightforward course that won't take
too much effort to beat. The turns are easy and there aren't
any tough hairpins or curves, so you won't have trouble at
                all here!

Dirt-6 HALFDUMP 2
   Car Unlocked: MR2 (Toyota)
Description: This dirt track is yet another easy track to win on. The
track for the most part is a smooth ride, except for a few
hairpins towards the second half and near the end. Those
aren't anything you haven't seen before, so maneuver around
those like any other and keep your speed towards the max so
                you win!

Circuit-7 FREE SPEED
   Car Unlocked: SILEIGHTY (Nissan)
Description: This final circuit-themed track is obviously the toughest of
all. There are MANY hairpins and sharp turns to make here,
all close together, which makes this a bit hard to speed
through and win. I would suggest to play this track a few
times to get a feel for the track layout. Then, you'll stand
a better chance of surviving through it and possibly
                winning!

Winding-7 WILD BOAR
   Car Unlocked: Supra (Toyota)
Description: For the second to last track in the game, it's actually not
as hard as you'd think. There is a zig-zag turn in the first
half of the track, and a couple of hairpins, but nothing
besides those will give you any trouble. Take it slow on the
tough turns and speed up on straightaways, and you'll be in
                good shape here.

City-6 BARRACUDA
Car Unlocked: IMPREZA WRX STi (Subaru)
Description: Here is the absolute last course you must race on in order
to complete this game! It's quite straightforward and not
too difficult, so you'll be able to easily the turns quickly
and safely. Be careful of the intersection point in the
middle because you might crash into a car if you're coming
across the track as passes by. After this, you've completed
the game basically, so congratulations if you made it this
                far!

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

As of this version, the file contains all the information I know to date. If
it is a work in progress, give me time before bombarding me with emails about
things being missing. All I ask is that you READ THE FAQ before emailing me,
since that's what it's here for! Don't waste my time (and yours) by asking me
for information obviously covered in the guide. If it's in reference to a
side quest or item, chances are they can be found in another section besides
the walkthrough, so check the appendices as well.

If you have any questions, comments, or things to add that are not already in
this FAQ, feel free to email me. I usually do post submissions, credit given
of course, so long as I feel they are relevant to the game in question. My
email address is: dbmfaqs(at)gmail.com. Thanks for reading, and be sure to
