-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
=1=                               1. Intro
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as you start a new game, you will be prompted to choose a party of four
from six available classes.  These classes are as follows:

Warrior (Knight)

The warrior is a well-rounded class.  He can wear almost all the armor and
wield almost all weapons.  He is slow but makes up for it with high defense and
health.  After the class change he become a knight and can use low level white
magic (1-3).  He has low MP and intelligence.

Monk (Master)

The monk, like the fighter, does a lot of damage.  He excels fighting with his
fists and can get the most hits in.  He has low defense and average speed.
After the class change he becomes a master.  He cannot use any magic.

Thief (Ninja)

The Thief is the fastest class in the game.  He has average defense, health,
and attack.  After the class change he becomes a ninja and can use low level
black magic (1-4).  He has low MP and intelligence.

White Mage (White Wizard)

The white mage has the lowest attack, very high MP, low HP, and high
intelligence.  After the class change he becomes a white wizard.  Can
use all levels of white magic (1-8)

Black Mage (Black Wizard)

The black mage has the lowest HP in the game.  He also has low defense and
attack.  He makes up for this with the highest MP and intelligence.  Black
magic can hit more than one enemy at once.  After the class change he
becomes a black wizard.  Can use all levels of black magic (1-8)

Red mage (Red Wizard)

The red mage has the highest attack out of all the mages.  He has average HP
and defense.  He has low MP and is a descent fighter.  After the class change
he becomes a red wizard.  He can use almost all levels of white and black
magic (1-7).

Choose your party wisely.  For a beginner I would recommend either:
Fighter, Monk, White Mage, Black Mage or
Fighter, Thief, White Mage, Black Mage

The fighter and white mage are a must have for anyone just starting out.  The
black mage is also a good idea since he can do lots of damage to lots of
enemies later in the game.  The forth is up to you although I would not
recommend the red mage because he is not really a great mage or a great
fighter.

NOTE:  For the boss fights I wrote how much EXP the boss is worth.  The exp is
then divided among your living party members.  For example, if a boss is worth
400 EXP, each party member that is alive will receive 400/# of members alive.

KEY ITEMS will be in all caps so you don't miss them.

I will put the bonus dungeons just before the final dungeon, but you can do
them as soon as you beat the corresponding dungeon.

To open the world map, hold B and press Select.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
=2=                      2. Princess Sara
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Items: LUTE, potion, tent, leather cap

After you pick your characters you will find yourself outside the town of
Cornelia.  The small houses you see make up the town.  All the houses lead to
the same place.  The big castle is Cornelia Castle.  This is the basic setup of
the towns in the game.  You will start the game off with 500 gil.  I recommend
you go into town to get some magic before you start the quest.  First head to
the house with the white symbol.  This is the white magic shop.  Here you want
to get cure, a must have early on.  You can also get dia if you want.  Leave
the shop and head to the black magic shop.  Here you want to get fire and
thunder.  If you want more spells, which you don't really need, you can fight
some battles for gil.  With the money left over you should equip your party
with weapons, mainly your Fighter(s), by going to the shop with the sword.
Then if you have enough gil you can get some armor.  You can also get a tent
and some potions.

After you are done head toward one of the many exits in town.  Now head up to
the castle.  Keep going up the stairs and into the throne room.  Here a bit of
dialogue will occur and you will be revealed to be the light warriors.  The
king asks you to go find his daughter Sara who was kidnapped by Garland.

Before you undertake this task, you will want to level up to 2 or 3.  If you
feel you are ready for your first boss fight then head to the Chaos Shrine;
if not then level up some more.  To get to the Chaos Shrine you have to go
northwest.  On the way there you will see the Earthgift Shrine.  Ignore it for
now.  Upon reaching the Shrine, go left to find a room with a leather cap.
Head up for another room with a tent and potion.  Go back to the entrance and
go through the doors to fight Garland.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                 Boss: Garland
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recommended Levels: 3-5

HP: 212
EXP: 130
Gil: 250
Treasure: longsword

This battle is fairly easy.  I beat him at level 2.  Order your non-mage guys
to attack while your black/red mages cast fire on him.  You probably won't
need to heal and he will go down quickly.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              End Boss: Garland
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the battle Princess Sara will wake up and take you back to the
castle.  After a bit of talking you will be in control again.  As you try to
leave Princess Sara will offer you a LUTE as a token of her thanks.  It is a
key item and useless as of now.  There will also be a cut scene of the bridge
being repaired.  Walk on the bridge and another cut scene will follow.  Cross
it and head right and then down to the town of Pravoka.

NOTE: As you can see, there is a white fence-like thing on the edge of the
water.  This is a port and you will be able to get on and off your boat at
these ports.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
=3=                            3. Bikke the Pirate
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Items: Ship

If you are in need of healing real bad then do so at the inn, otherwise head to
the left part of town and confront Bikke for a battle.  There are 9 pirates but
it is a very easy battle.  They have 24 HP each.  They give 40 EXP and 40 gil
each.  Just hit them with physical attack and they will fall in one or two
hits.  After the battle they will give you a ship.  What you want to do now is
fight battles to get lots of gil.  Just outside of town there are some ogres
which give 195 gil each. You could also go out to sea and if you're lucky you
will run into buccaneers which give 120 gil each.  I would suggest getting
enough for armor, weapons, and a black magic spell.  For the white mage I don't
get anything from here but if you must get invis1.  For the black/red mages I
suggest Blizzard.  You can also get steel but I don't.  For equipment get
whatever is best for your party.  It may take a while but you have to do it for
the next part.  Now that you have finished shopping you will want to take your
new boat out for a spin.  Let's head to the next town, Elfheim.  Go left and
down the coast.  When you reach a river, head left.  Dock at the first port you
see.  Head down and enter the elf town.

NOTE:  If one of your party members dies after this point, go to Cornelia
because it is the cheapest.  To get there head right a few spaces right and
then up and you should see it.  The inn is cheaper also.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
=4=                              4. The Elf Prince
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items: 680 gil, 620 gil, 295 gil, 1020 gil, 385 gil, broadsword, dagger,
phoenix down, copper armlet, cottage, CROWN, potion, potion, antidote, CRYSTAL
EYE, MYSTIC KEY

As you walk around the town you will see 2 white and black magic shops.  Both
the level 3 and level 4 magic shops are here.  If you happened to walk into a
store, you will notice the incredibly high prices.  Do not panic, you do not
need that yet.  What you do want to do is get 1600 gil and buy 20 antidotes, 10
potions and maybe a tent.  There are ogres just inside the forest circle and at
the swamp to the right of the port.  After you are done, head into the castle.
In the castle, head up and then left and up through the door.  Inside, you will
find the elf prince has been put to sleep by Astos.

Leave for now and head to the western keep. DO NOT USE ANY MAGIC ON YOUR WAY
THERE UNLESS YOU HAVE A TENT.  To get there, head left from the town and go
under the mountain range.  Go through into the forest you see above you.
Once you see a mountain range in front of you head left.  Take the small
path between the water and mountain range.  Keep going up and you will
eventually reach the western keep.  When you reach the keep go inside and
head to the throne room.  The king says that Astos came and destroyed this
place and he needs his crown back from the marsh pit.

Leave the keep and head all the way to the bottom of the continent.  If you
can't find it, look for the yellow dot at the tip of the continent on the world
map.  Use a tent if you need to and head inside.

This dungeon is very tough because a lot of enemies paralyze you.  I recommend
being at least level 10.  Beware the green slime which takes one damage from
physical attacks.  Head up and you will eventually come to some stairs.  On
this floor, head right for a room with a dagger.  Then head left for a room
with 680 gil.  Then head down for 620 gil and a broad sword.  Go back through
the way you came in and head back to the entrance of the marsh cave.  This
time head down.  Continue heading down at the split and you will find a room
with stairs.  On this floor head to the southeast and take the stairs again.
On this floor head all the way to the right for a room with 295 gil.  Head down
until you see another room.  Go left from there and go in the third room you
see.  Grab the phoenix down and cottage.  In the next room to the left is a
copper armlet.  Head down to the next row of rooms and go to the third one for
385 gil.  Head left to the room you just passed and heal up for a mini boss.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Mini Boss: Piscodemons
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recommended Levels: 12-14

HP: 84
EXP: 276 each
Gil: 300 each

You will fight a random number of these guys.  They hit fairly hard and are
weak to thunder.  Just use physical attacks and heal when needed.

Thanks to Ray Stroud for the info about being weak to thunder.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                           End Mini Boss: Piscodemons
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the battle grab the CROWN and head to the northwest part of the cave and
exit through where you came in.  On this floor go to the room with the stairs
again.  Now you can leave the marsh cave the way you came in.  Now if you are
low on health and MP you can go to Elfheim and heal and get better armor and
weapons.  If you do go to town I recommend getting nulblaze, cura, and diara
for your white mage and fira, thundara, and haste for your black/red mage.
Remember that there are two white and black mage shops here.  It is also a good
idea to sell armor and weapons you don't need.  Otherwise just go to the
Western Keep.  When you get there, talk to the king and he will reveal himself
to be Astos, the king of the dark elves.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Boss: Astos
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recommended Levels: 14-16

HP: 420
EXP: 2250
Gil: 2000
Treasure: mythril sword

This battle is kind of tough.  If you have Nulblaze then cast it because he
will use Fira.  He also has a Death which could instantly kill a party member.
Fire, thunder, and blizzard seem to work well on him.  His physical attacks
don't do much.  if you have haste then cast it on your fighter/thief/monk.
Keep your HP above 100 and you should do fine.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                             End Boss: Astos
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After the battle you will get the CRYSTAL EYE.  Leave the keep and head back to
Cornelia but instead of docking in front of the castle, head to the right and
up a little and go under the bridge that was built.  Dock at that port and head
up to Matoya's Cave.

Walk into the cave and enter the room.  After a short scene, talk to her again
to give her the eye.  She will give you the jolt tonic.  Before you leave take
the 2 potions and antidote from the chests.  Head back to Elfheim Castle to
give the jolt tonic to the prince.  He will awaken and give you the MYSTIC KEY.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
=5=                         5. Fun With the Mystic Key
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items: 800 gil, 700 gil, 1020 gil, mythril hammer, bronze gloves, falchion,
steel gloves, power staff, silver armlet, antidote, saber, mythril knife,
cottage, NITRO POWDER, tent, tent, iron armor, werebuster, gold needle, rune
sword, potion, leather cap

A bunch of the places you have visited had rooms locked by the mystic key.  You
can now open those doors.  The first is in Elfheim castle in the northeastern
room outside the castle walls.  The four chests contain 800 gil, 700, gil,
bronze gloves, and a mythril hammer.  Leave the castle and go to the Western
Keep.  Upon entering go right and walk all the way around to the room that is
left of the throne room.  The fronts of the chests are guarded so open them
from the sides.  These chests contain a falchion, steel gloves, and a power
staff.  Exit the keep and head to the marsh cave.  Head to the floor where you
fought the piscodemons and head all the way to the bottom.  The chests are
guarded by piscodemons.  The first room has a silver armlet.  The second has an
antidote and the fourth has 1020 gil.  Now head back to Elfheim and get any
important spells you may have missed like fira, thundara, blizzara haste, cura,
and poisona.  After you have everything you need head to Castle Cornelia.  Once
inside, head left or right and go all the way to the back of the castle and go
down.  Go right and you will see two rooms.  The room on the right contains a
saber, mythril knife, and cottage.  The one on the left contains NITRO POWDER,
a tent, and an iron armor.  Finally head to the Chaos Shrine where there are
four rooms.  The room in the southeast contains a rune blade.  The northeastern
room has a werebuster and a gold needle.  The other two rooms were available to
you in the beginning of the game but if you missed them, they are a potion,
tent, and a leather cap.

Before you continue stock up on lots of items because where you are going there
is no item shop or place to revive your characters.  I would get at least 99
potions and a couple of phoenix downs.  You won't need antidotes because you
have poisona.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
=6=                          6. The Orb of Earth
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items: 575 gil, 575 gil, 450 gil, 1975 gil, 800 gil, 5000 gil, 575 gil, 330
gil, 3400 gil, 1020 gil, 1250 gil, 575 gil, 5000 gil, 3400 gil, 1520 gil, 1455
gil, 5450 gil, tent, tent, tent, coral sword, great helm, wyrmkiller, ether,
mythril mail, cottage, potion, potion, leather shield, STAR RUBY, gold needle,
sleeping bag, EARTH ROD, leather shield, staff, mythril shield.

Now that you are well stocked on weapons, armor, and magic you can head to Mt.
Duergar.  To get there head west from Cornelia.  Eventually you will see a port
out in the middle of nowhere. Dock there and head left and down.  There you
will see a cave.  Head up from the stairs to get 575 gil and 450 gil.  Head all
the way to the left wall and go down until you see a split.  Head to the left
for a room with a tent, great helm, wyrmkiller, ether, mythril mail, cottage,
potion, and 575 gil.  Then go right and down until you see a dwarf.  Talk to
him to give him the NITRO POWDER.  After the cut scene head through the canal
that was just formed.  Go west and then north and dock in Melmond.  Ignore the
whirlpool for now.

As you enter, you will notice that the earth has been ravaged.  There is no
reviving place or item shop here.  You can buy magic here once you reach level
19.  I would recommend curaga and life for your white mage; tundaga and firaga
for your black/red.  You will notice that the knights armor costs 36000 gil.
You can get this after the earth cave because you will have plenty of money
then.  Heal, save, and head to the earth cave.  To get there, head west from
Melmond and go down the small strip of land.

When you are inside head up and get the 1975 gil from the chest.  All the
chests here are guarded by earth elementals on at least one side.  Then head
back down and go right by the stairs and down at the intersection.  At the next
intersection make a left to collect a potion and 800 gil.  Go back out to that
last inter section and keep going straight to the other side.  This side
contains an antidote and 795 gil.  Head back out to the first intersection and
go right this time.  Take the stairs to the next floor.

On this floor you want to go down until you reach something that looks like an
upside down U.  From there go right and up.  You will reach an intersection
where you can go up or right.  Go right and then down right away.  Follow the
path to get a leather shield, 575 gil, and 5000 gil.  Go back to the place
where you went down and go right, up, and right to get to a coral sword, tent,
and 330 gil.  After you leave the room head all the way down and follow the
path to the stairs.

On this floor, stick to the bottom wall and go through the door you see for a
sleeping bag.  Leave the room and go up until you come to an intersection.  Go
up, right, and down to get to a gold needle.  Go back to the intersection and
head left.  Now just keep following the path and you will come across four
rooms.  The first has 3400 gil.  The second has nothing.  The third has 1020
gil; and the fourth has the boss and the STAR RUBY.  Talk to the bat in the
last room to start the fight.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Mini Boss: Vampire
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recommended Levels: 18-20

HP: 280
EXP: 1200
Gil: 2000

Very easy fight because he only has 280 HP.  He is weak to Fire and Dia.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              End Mini Boss: Vampire
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the battle, grab the STAR RUBY and exit through the door you came in.
Leave the Earth temple and head to the titan's cave.  To get there head to the
cave on the left side of the continent.  Talk to the titan to give him the STAR
RUBY and he will let you pass.  After he moves, go down to get a mythril helm,
great axe, 620 gil, and 450 gil.  Go up and exit the cave.  From the world map,
go all the way down and enter the second cave.  Nothing to see here.  Head
straight to the second room and talk to the sage to get the EARTH ROD.  Now
head back to the dungeon where you fought the vampire.  Head through the second
door and use "talk" to the plate.  Go down to the lower floors.

On this floor walk up until you come to an intersection where you can go left
or up.  Go up to find a room with a staff, 3400 gil, 1520 gil, 1455 gil, and
5450 gil.  Go back to the intersection and this time go left.  Now all you want
to do is get to the left wall.  When you come to it, you will have the choice
of going up or down.  Go down first and grab the mythril shield, tent, and 1250
gil.  Go all the way up to the northwestern corner and take the stairs to the
final floor.

On this floor go up, left, down, left.  Heal and save before you talk to the
boss.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Boss: Lich
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recommended Levels: 20-22

HP: 1200
EXP: 2200
Gil: 3000
Treasure: dry ether

He uses elemental and physical attacks.  Keep your HP above 100 and you should
be fine.  He is weak to fire and dia.  It would be a good idea to use haste on
your strongest attackers.  Physical attacks don't seem to do much against him.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                             End Boss: Lich
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To leave, walk to the circle behind the crystal.  You now want to go to
Crescent Lake.  To get there, head west from Melmond until you hit land.  Now
open up the world map and make sure you are on the eastern coast of the
southeastern continent.  If you are not, then you need to get there.  Now sail
up and down the coast looking for a port.  There are two ports.  You have to
dock in the southern one.  After docking, head down and around to the left of
the mountain range.  Walk around to the left side of the lake and enter the
town.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
=7=                        7. The Orb of Fire
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items: 1520 gil, 4150 gil, 795 gil, 750 gil, 1520 gil, 1760 gil, 1455 gil, 1975
gil, 2750 gil, 2000, gil, 10 gil, 155 gil, 1250 gil, 1760 gil, 880 gil, 7340
gil, mythril helm, great sword, mythril shield, mythril axe, phoenix down,
antidote, mythril helm, mythril gloves, hi-potion, tent, Flame shield, ice
brand, gold needle, cottage, staff, flame mail.

You should have more than enough money to buy all the things you want in this
town.  If not, fight the trolls and minotaurs outside town.  After you are done
shopping, head to the north part of town in between the two magic shops.  Head
across the bridge and around to the sages.  After talking with them and
learning a little about the story you will receive a canoe.  Exit the town and
go into the river up north.  Start from the river above town and follow these
directions at the intersections.  Left, up, right, left, and left.  Use a tent,
save, and row your way to the volcano.

Stepping on the lava tiles will deal one damage per tile.  Most of the time it
is unavoidable so make sure to keep your health up.  On the first floor just go
left and down the stairs.

On this floor, enter the first door you see.  Take the first left and grab the
mythril helm.  Head down for 1520 gil.  Leave through the door on the left and
take the third door.  Go up and stick to the left.  Go down and grab the
chests.  The items are mythril helm, mythril gloves, hi-potion, tent, 1975 gil,
1455 gil, 1520 gil, antidote, 1760 gil, mythril axe, mythril shield, and a
phoenix down.  Head all the way back up to get 795 gil and 750 gil.  From there
go to the top of the room and right.  Head down to get the 4150 gil.  Follow
the maze to the last chest containing a great sword.  Leave this room and take
the stairs on the left side.

On this floor head right and take the stairs.  Another simple floor.  Head to
the southeast corner and take the stairs.  For this floor start walking down
and at the intersections go, left, down, and left.  Take the stairs to the next
floor.

Go in the room you see and take the gold needle and 2750 gil.  Follow the path
and take a left at the intersection.  Take the 1760 gil in the room and go to
the last room.  Grab the antidote, 7340 gil, flame shield, ice brand, and 880
gil.  Go back to the first intersection and head down.  The first room has 10
gil and 155 gil.  Head up and grab the cottage and 2000 gil.  Go back to the
previous room and go down.  The room there has 1250 gil and a staff.  Follow
the path to the final floor.

Go left from the stairs to get a flame mail.  Go back to the stairs and head
southwest.  Heal, save, and talk to the orb.

gloves, ice armor, LEVISTONE.

As you may expect, the enemies here are weak to fire.  On the first floor just
follow the path and take the stairs.  On this floor either head left and then
down or down and left to get to the stairs.  Take the stairs on this floor.

Head around to the south and enter the room.  Grab the two chests but be
careful not to step on the cracks.  The right one has clothes and the other has
a flame sword.  After you rob both chests, step on a crack.  Go left to get ice
armor and mythril gloves.  Beware the dragons that guard them.  Stepping on the
spikes will deal one damage per tile you step on.  Head all the way down to get
5454 gil, 7900 gil, 9900 gil, 180 gil, 5000, gil, and 12350 gil.  After you get
the gil, head back up and to the stairs on the right.

Go through the door and get the ether.  Leave the room and go to the bottom
room for 10000 gil.  Head right to another room and get the 9500 gil, sleeping
bag, and ice shield.  Fall through the crack and get ready for a boss fight.

make your way back to the boat.  You will now need to go to the Ryukahn Desert.
To get there, go to the southern tip on the continent and go into the river by
the desert.  Land right away on the left side and enter the desert.  You
finally get an airship.  The airship can only be landed on grasslands.  Now we
can get a class change.

1520 gil, 9500 gil, x-potion, gauntlets, ruby armlet, healing staff, ice brand,
steel gloves, cottage, RAT'S TAIL, tent, dry ether, gold needle, cottage,
elixir.

First head to the Citadel of Trials.  First open your world map and look at the
northeastern continent.  On the left side, there is a yellow dot.  That's where
you have to go.  It will look like a castle.  You'll have to land pretty far
and walk to the castle.

Once inside, talk to the sage and go to the throne in the northwest corner.
Take the only warp point you see.  Again take the only warp point there.  Take
the bottom one here.  Only one here.  Bottom one here.  Only one here.  Take
the closest one to you.  Take the bottom road and go down the left side.  Go
past the first two warp points and take the third.  Take the stairs up.

Go up and get the healing staff.  Head left and get the ruby armlet, ice brand,
and steel gloves.  Head down to get the gauntlets, cottage, 7340 gil, and 1455
gil.  Do not equip the healing staff or gauntlets because you can use them in
battle to cast heal and thundara respectively.  Head right and open the chest
for a RAT'S TAIL.  Walk up to the throne for a boss fight.

450 gil, 7690 gil, 8135 gil, 2750 gil, 7340 gil, 9900 gil, 5450 gil, 385 gil,
BOTTLED FAIRY, OXYALE, WARP CUBE, defender, wizard's staff, ribbon, diamond
armor, mage's staff, light axe, diamond armlet, ROSETTA STONE, diamond helm,
diamond gloves, giant's glove, light axe, ribbon.

Gaia is the yellow dot at the northeast part of the northeast continent.  Here
you will want to do a lot of shopping, but save 40000 gil.  The cat claws is
the best black mage weapon.  If you are at least level 39, you can get level 8
spells.  After you are done, head to the western continent and land right below
the desert.  Head to the small spot of sand surrounded by grass.  The caravan
will sell you a BOTTLED FAIRY for 40000 gil.  Head back to Gaia to release the
fairy.  Head to the north part of the town past the item shop and to the right
of the reviving place.  Walk to the water and talk to the fairy.  She will
give you OXYALE.  Go back to the western continent but this time go to the town
on the eastern coast.  You will have to walk very far because you can't land
close.  On the way there, you will see a river.  Take the river all the way up
to the waterfall cavern.

The cavern has many dead ends but it is pretty easy to navigate.  At the first
intersection go left.  When you come to an area with three paths take the top
left path.  At the next intersection go down and you will see a room.  The
items here are a wizard's staff, ribbon, defender, 6400 gil, 13450 gil, and 500
gil.  Talk to the robot for a WARP CUBE.  Warp or walk out and go to Onrac.
No weapons or armor here but there are four spells and new items.  When you are
done head to the dock on the right side of town.  Get into the barrel and head
into the Sunken Shrine.

The first thing you should do is head to the right and get the 2000 gil.  Then
head to the left and get 9900 gil.  Go all the way to the back wall and take
the stairs on the right.

All monsters here are weak to thunder except the water elementals which are
weak to ice.  Go down and left past the first room.  Enter the big room for 20
gil.  The room north of this has diamond armor.  Head down and to the left of
the big room for a light axe.  Head down and right for a mage's staff, 12350
gil, and the stairs to the next floor.

There are a lot of empty rooms here so don't go in all of them.  head up for
9000 gil, 1760 gil, and a diamond armlet.  Head in between the room you just
came out of and the room to the left.  Take a left and go up.  Go right and
enter the second room for 2750 gil.  Head down and enter the room on the right
for 4150 gil.  The room to the right has 5000 gil.  Go all the way down and
inside the room on your right for an antidote.  head up one room and to the
right and then down for a diamond shield.  Go up and left so you are standing
in the middle of four rooms.  Go up as far as you can and head to the room on
the left for 10 gil and 10000 gil.  Now go stand in front of the room below
this.  Go left, up, left, up, and left.  Go down and into the first room you
see for a diamond helm, diamond gloves, and ROSETTA STONE.  Now either use
warp, exit, or walk to the first room you walked into in the Sunken Shrine.

On this floor you first went up and to the right.  This time go to the left.
On this floor go left a little and then up to the stairs.  Take the stairs
here.  Go around the room for the stairs.  Go through the door and grab the two
chests for 110 gil and 450 gil.  Go through the other door and take the stairs
on the left.

On this room go left and down for 7690 gil and 8135 gil.  Head left a few steps
and up for a ribbon, 9900 gil, 7340 gil, 2750 gil. Head left for a light axe.
Go down for a giant's glove, 5450 gil, and 385 gil.  Go back to the room with
the ribbon and head up this time to the stairs.

On this floor go left, up, left, down, and left.  Enter the room and exit
it at the top.  Go in to the room above it and get ready for a boss fight.

to the guy in the corner for the CHIME.  Stock up on a lot of items because
this is a long dungeon.  When you are ready, head to the desert near where you

Go inside the door and collect the 2750 gil, 18010 gil, 800 gil, 3400 gil,

12350 gil, 7900 gil, 8135 gil, 7600 gil, 10000 gil, dragon mail, sun blade, and
thor's hammer.  After you have taken all the items, exit out the door on the
right.  Head around and above the room for the stairs.  Go to the room below
you and stand on the pad.  It will transport you to the Flying Fortress.

If you go down you can get a razer.  Go left for a potion, 7900 gil, 9900 gil,
and 4150 gil.  Go right for protect ring, healing helm, 6720 gil, 5000 gil, 180
gil.  Go up for the stairs.

On this floor go down until you are in the center of the room.  The northwest
room contains a mythril helm and cottage.  The northeast room contains diamond
gloves.  The east room has a diamond shield and a ribbon.  The west room has
13000 gil and 880 gil.  The southeast room has a black robe and a white robe.
The southwest room has ADAMANTITE.  The stairs to the next floor is to the
south.

To the right you see a small globe.  Look through it.  Keep going right to get
a protect cloak, clothes, a gold needle, 6400 gil, 9500 gil, 835 gil.  From the
stairs again, go north.  You will find a potion, protect ring, 5450 gil, and
900 gil.  Back to the stairs and left this time for a Sasuke's blade, gold
needle, 4150 gil, 3400 gil, and the stairs to the next level.

This floor goes on forever in all directions.  To get to the exit either go up
two squares and left two squares; or down two squares and right two squares.

This is the final floor before the boss.  Heal and save BEFORE you cross the
bridge.  On this bridge you have a chance to get a random encounter with an
optional boss.  If you ant to fight him, walk back and forth across the bridge

=16=                        16. The Final Dungeon
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items: dry ether, elixir, protect ring, protect cloak, sasuke's blade,
megalixir, masamune.

After you have finished the final optional dungeon and stocked up on 99 hi-
potions, ethers, and phoenix downs, head to the Chaos Shrine.  The black
crystal here will bring you to the Temple of Chaos from 2000 years ago.

After you are transported, head to the stairs at the southeast corner of the
floor.  On the next floor walk right to the stairs.  Walk all the way down and
then right and enter the big room.  Grab the ether and dry elixir before you
take the stairs.

Exit this room and go left and then up to the stairs.  Walk to the left side of
the floor for the next stairs.  Walk up, right, and then down to reach a boss
fight and stairs.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Boss: Lich
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HP: 2800
EXP: 2000
Gil: 1

Then Lich is a bit harder this time around.  He can cast flare, so be ready
with healing spells.  He is still weak to dia and physical attacks.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                            End Boss: Lich
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the battle, take the stairs.  On this floor, walk a little to the left
and then up to find a door.  Go through this door and the other one on the
right.  Go to the left and take the opening under the stairs.  Go left for a
protect ring.  Walk down and to the right for a sasuke's blade.  Go back to the
place where you took a left for the protect ring and go right his time.  Grab
the protect cloak and keep going right for a megalixir.  Head to the stairs you
passed for another boss battle.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Boss: Marilith
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HP: 3200
EXP: 2000
Gil: 1

Marilith has new spells like death and is now not weak to anything except
confuse.  Don't count on it working too often.  Use strong physical attacks to
take her out.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                            End Boss: Marilith
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After the battle, take the stairs to the next floor.  On this floor head to the
southeast corner of the floor.  The hallway to the stairs is guarded by Kraken.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                              Boss: Kraken
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HP: 3600
EXP: 2000
Gil: 1
Treasure: eye drops

Kraken is no longer weak to thunder.  He will also use an ink spell to blind
your party.  Physical attacks powered by haste, saber, and strength tonics are
the best ways to beat him.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                            End Boss: Kraken
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If you walk across the hallway again, you will have to fight him again.  Take
the stairs to the Tiamat floor.  This floor is made up of five rooms.  Start
by heading to the room below you.  Then head a room to the right.  in the lower
right corner you will see a path.  Take it to a room with the masamune.  Go
back to the room you started off in.  The room connecting to this on the right
is guarded by Tiamat.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                Boss: Tiamat
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HP: 5500
EXP: 2000
Gil: 1
Treasure: rune staff

Tiamat is not really weak to anything.  Use attacks powered by haste and saber.
If your level is a little low, it could be a tough battle.  Flare will also
work a little.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                            End Boss: Tiamat
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Continue into the room on the right and take the stairs to the final floor.  On
this floor, Head down and into the only room here.  Heal up, restore your MP,
and save before you talk to Chaos.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                           Final Boss: Chaos
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HP: 20000(!!!)
EXP: 0
Gil: 0

As you may have guess by the HP, this will be a long and tough battle.  Not
only does he have a lot of life, defense, and a whole lot of magic defense; he
will also completely heal himself sometimes.  He will cast all types of
elemental spells.  Use nulblaze, nulshock, nulice, and nulall as quickly as
possible. You will also have to cast a strong healing spell, healara or
healaga, every turn.  He can also kill a party member in one hit so be ready to
use a phoenix down or fullife.  Saber and haste are a must in this battle.  I
would not recommend flare or holy because he has a ton of magic defense.  Your
MP is better used on healing anyway.  Eventually you will win.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                         Final End Boss: Chaos

                                VI. Secrets
*******************************************************************************

To the northeast of Provoka, there is a small peninsula.  The top 2x2 square
contains a glitch where you can fight enemies much tougher than there should be
like Hill Gigas and Ice Wolves.

While you are on the ship, hold A and press the B button 23 times.  Complete
this in 30 seconds or less to get an X-Potion.  Complete it in less than two
minutes to get a prize.  The prizes are:

0:30:00 or less- X-Potion
1:00:00 or less- Dry Ether, Elixir, Emergency Exit, Hermes Shoes, Remedy
2:00:00 or less- Blue Curtain, Blue Fang, Cockatrice Claw, Red Curtain, Red
Fang, Spider's Silk, Vampire Fang, White Curtain, White Fang
2:00:00 or more- 100 gil, Antidote, Echo Grass, Ether, Eye Drops, Gold Needle,
Phoenix Down, Potion

Thanks to Terajima Ryoko for some prizes.

                         VII. Frequently Asked Questions
*******************************************************************************

Question # 1.  Help, I keep getting lost in the desert floor of the Earthgift
Shrine.

A.  There are 4 set of trees to look out for.  If you see three trees
pointing up, go up.  If you see three trees pointing to the right, go
up a little, then right.  If you see 6 trees pointing in opposite
direstions, go down.  If you see some trees on a patch of grass go up a
little and then left.  The stairs will be by an oasis.

Question # 2.  How do I get off the overworld floor in the Hellfire Chasm?

A.  You will get end up in 1 of 3 "pretend maps".  In # 2 the airship is
necsseary.  In #1 and #3 the airship is optional.

1. This is if you got the ship and there is a river just to the right.
You dont need the airship for this one.  Go into the river and head
to the right of the rocks.  At the next intersection go down.  You
should see a hole.

2. This is if you got the ship and there is an island of grass below
you.  Go left until you see mountains.  Go around the bottom tip keep
going left until you see a port. Do not dock ther.  Instead head to
the island below it and there should be a port at the bottom of the
island.  Talk to the old man.  Now head down until you see another
port and dock there.  Go down and at the first intersection head
northeast.  Keep going staight and go around the right side of the
mountain.  Go down and yuo will see a desert with a tree on it.  Press
A at the tree to raise the ship.  Get in the airship and go a little
up and then left and you will see the hole.

3.  This is if you go the ship where there is a little grass on both
sides of the dock.  Get in the ship and go left until you hit land.
Go up and you should see an island shaped like a backward C.  Go
around the left side of it and you will see a hole.

Question # 3.  When can i get the airship.

A. You can get it as early as level 11.  Read the FAQ for information about
getting it.

Question # 3.  Why did you organnize the bestiary in alphabetical order?

A.  Because thats how i started it and did not feel like changing it later.  If
you want to look for a monster use Ctrl + F.
