Introduction [SEC1]
======================
Beyblade (known as Bakuten Shoot Beyblade in Japan) is a series that revolves
around high-performance customizable spinning tops. These tops are what are
known as Beyblades.
The series is supported by actual beyblade toys, video games, a manga, and an
anime. The first three seasons of the anime are canon to each other, and the
second season of the anime is what forms most of the basis for this game. While
it is not required at all for you to have watched the anime to play this game,
I would suggest watching it, because people who have watched it will recognize
almost everything in the game, making it far more enjoyable for them.
People who battle using beyblades are known as "beybladers" or "bladers".
Battles using beyblades are known as "beybattles" and they involve bladers
challenging each other to see who is the better blader. Special chosen bladers
have spirits known as "Bit-Beasts" living inside the bit chips of their
beyblades that can help them get an advantage in beybattles.
This game is known as Bakuten Shoot Beyblade 2002 - Gekisen! Team Battle!!. It
has two versions, namely Seiryuu no Shou - Takao Hen (Takao version), and
Kouryuu no Shou - Daichi Hen (Daichi version). These games involve a scenario
like that in the first season of the anime in that you have a team of four
bladers and you seek to defeat other teams individually and in tournaments to
prove that your team is the best team of beybladers in the world.

Disclaimer & Guide Usage [SEC2]
==================================
This guide contains a large amount of spoilers about the two games it covers
and even about the Beyblade anime to an extent, so read at your own risk.
I, Kai, will not be responsible for any problem caused to your game through the
use of information found in this guide. Moreover, I cannot guarantee all
information found in this guide to be 100% accurate, especially since this is a
Japanese only game, and a lot of the information in the guide has been written
using my basic ability to translate Japanese.
This guide covers a game found only in Japanese language. For this reason, I
may use romaji to transliterate some of the passwords in the "Part Passwords"
section, since this guide cannot support Japanese characters. You may need a
basic understanding of Japanese language to transliterate these romaji back
into Japanese characters to be able to enter them in the game. Other than this
small issue, there is no need for concern, as this guide was written with
people who are only fluent in English in mind, and common sense will be enough.

Walkthrough [SEC6]
=====================
I will cover everything from the perspective of Takao version, but I will note
the differences between Takao version and Daichi version where they exist. How
do you know which version you are playing? We'll come to that in a little
while.
Start up the game until you get to a red and blue screen. Press A twice to
start the game. Note that you don't have to save your progress in the game
(you are not able to anyway) because the game always autosaves after each
battle and some other actions.
When the game starts, you will see that an image of a guy pops up at the bottom
left corner, implying that he is the one talking. If this character has black
hair, brown eyes and wears a red jacket, then the character's name is Takao
(Tyson), which means you are playing Takao version. If this character has red
hair, green eyes and wears a blue tank, then the character's name is Daichi,
which means you are playing Daichi version. Takao is the main character of the
Beyblade anime, and Daichi is also another important character of the anime.
In the English version of the anime, Daichi's English name is still Daichi, but
Takao's English name is Tyson. From this point onward, I may refer to Takao as
Tyson, so you should know who I'm talking about.
So anyway... Tyson starts talking and then a guy appears on the screen who
wears a hat and has dark purple hair. His name is Seichi. If you keep talking,
a chubby guy with black hair and yellow shirt appears on the screen next. His
name is Genta. If you still keep talking, another guy appears on the screen who
has brown hair and wears a white shirt. His name is Michiru. Note that Seichi,
Genta and Michiru are not characters present in the anime, although Genta makes
cameos in the anime a few times.
From what I can guess, Tyson, Seichi, Genta and Michiru are talking about
forming a team. If you keep talking, an old man with a big white mustache
appears on the screen next. His name is Stanley Dickenson in the English
version of the anime, and everyone calls him Mr. Dickenson. Mr. Dickenson talks
to Tyson, Seichi, Genta and Michiru. If you keep talking, another character
appears who has brown hair and glasses put up on his head. His name is Kenny in
the English version of the anime. He is Tyson's friend and helps manage their
team, and he is an expert when it comes to beyblade parts and building
beyblades.
So Tyson, Seichi, Genta and Michiru finally form their beyblading team, and
Kenny joins in to help their team. Tyson, Seichi, Genta and Michiru are the
actual players of the game, so they are known as bladers. Kenny is not a
blader but rather a friend who helps you with advice about beyblades.
If you keep talking, you will eventually come to a different screen (the music
changes) and it looks like a world map. This is their version of the world, and
Mr. Dickenson explains what each of the various locations are for. The first
location he stops at has a number of small houses on the map. This place is
called Akebono Town and it is the home town of all the six characters we have
met so far. This place is supposed to represent a part of Japan, and is the
hometown of Tyson in the anime.
Keep talking and he will move to a different location with large buildings on
the map. This location is marked as "PPB", and this is supposed to represent a
part of the USA. In this place, you can battle PPB's beyblade team known as
"The All Starz" later on. For your information, PPB stands for Project Power
Beyblade. Keep talking and he will move to another location with a castle on
the map. This is supposed to represent a part of Europe, and you can battle the
beyblade team named "The Majestics" here later on. Keep talking again and he
will stop at a snowy land with an abbey on the map. This is supposed to
represent a part of Russia, and here you can battle the team named "The
Demolition Boys" later on. Keep talking again, and Mr. Dickenson will move to a
stadium marked "SBC1" on the map. This is the location for the qualifying
tournament, which is a milestone in the game, and which we will get to later.
Finally, Mr. Dickenson returns back to Akebono Town and enters it.
Before I get to the part inside Akebono Town, I would like to point out a few
differences in Daichi version. In Daichi version, the first location Mr.
Dickenson stops at is the White Tiger Clan, where you can battle the beyblade
team named The White Tigers. Then, Mr. Dickenson stops at the place where you
can battle The Demolition Boys, and then he stops at the place where you can
battle The All Starz. The rest of the sequence remains the same as in Takao
version. As you can see, you do not unlock The Majestics in Daichi version
initially, or The White Tigers in Takao version initially, but rest
assured that you will unlock every location in both versions eventually. Only
the order of unlocking the locations is different in the two versions.
Now, back to where we left off where Mr. Dickenson entered Akebono Town. He
explains the various locations in Akebono Town that you can get to. The first
point he stops at is the airport, and it is the way to get out of the city to
the world map again. Keep talking, and he moves to a house which, from what I
understand, is Tyson's home. At Tyson's home, you can customize your beyblade,
choose your launcher, and check out the stats of these parts. Keep talking, and
he moves to a small building, which is the BBA office. At the BBA office, you
can change your team's name, and you can even change your team members later on
when you have more team members other than the default four. Keep talking, and
you will reach a building with antennas on it with the words "VS". This is the
VS Battle Center, and here, you can link your game with one other real life
player of this game at a time to have battles with them. Keep talking, and you
will stop next at another building with antennas on it with the words "4P".
This is the 4 Player Battle Center, where you can battle three other people at
a time. Keep talking, and you will stop at the last building with antennas on
it. This is the Exchange Center, and here, you can trade your beyblade parts
and launchers with other people by linking with them in real life. You can only
trade parts that you are not using at a given moment.
Finally, Mr. Dickenson goes back to the airport, which is the exit point of the
town, and gets out of Akebono Town. THIS is the part where you FINALLY get left
alone and finally get to control everything yourself.
========================================
Map Controls & Menu Controls [SEC6.1]
========================================
Now that you have control over yourself, let me explain the controls on the
overworld. You can scroll through the various locations available for now by
pressing either left or right. Pressing left repeatedly allows you to scroll
through the map in a clockwise direction and pressing right repeatedly allows
you to scroll anticlockwise. Pressing the R button causes you to return
instantly to the entrance of Akebono Town. Pressing the A button lets you enter
the location that you are currently over. With the exception of Akebono Town,
pressing the B button allows you to exit these locations once you have entered
them. For exiting Akebono Town, you have to instead press A at the airport in
the town.
Pressing the L button anywhere on the world map or Akebono Town map brings up
a menu. Here, you have two options. Let's start with the option on the left.
Press A while it is selected to enter the Bladers Menu.
This is what the Bladers Menu looks like:
--------------------------------
| |
| ---------- |
| |o /\ o| |
| | _/__\_ | ------------- |
| | // \\ | | | |
| | /\____/\ | | Team Name | |
| | --\ /-- | |-------------| |
| |o \/ o| | | |
| ---------- | Michiru | |
| ------------ | Genta | |
|| | | Seichi | |
|| | | Tyson | |
| ------------ ------------- |
--------------------------------
Initially, the option selected from the beginning is your team's name. If you
press down, you can scroll through your four bladers, and each blader's image
can be seen on the box to the upper left when they are selected. Anyway...
While the yellow box is over "Team Name" (which is the first option that was
selected from the beginning), press A to bring up another menu. This menu shows
you some statistics about your team as a whole. The menu looks like this:
------------------------------------
| Team Name |
| |
| ### TB(1) ### W(1) ### L(1)|
| |
|SP: #### PW: #### SC: #### |
|=========== =========== =========== |
|------------------------------------|
| In-game Battles || Link Battles |
| || |
| ### TB(2) || ### TB(3) |
| ### W(2) ###L(2)|| ### W(3) ###L(3)|
| || |
|Class(1): XX ||Class(2): XX |
------------------------------------
All hashes/number signs (#) indicate some numbers that are not fixed. The
number to the left of TB(1) indicates the total number of battles your team
has had. The number to the left of W(1) are the number of wins out of those
total battles and the number to the left of L(1) are the number of losses out
of those total battles.
SP, PW and SC are three stats that each blader has individually too, but in
this menu, a total is shown for the whole team, represented by a number and
a bar below it. These stats will be explained more in the section titled
"Stats".
In the "In-game Battles" box, the number beside TB(2) is the total number of
in-game battles you have had out of TB(1), beside W(2) is the number of total
in-game wins, and beside L(2) is the number of total in-game losses. The Link
Battles box shows statistics about battles with real life players you have
linked with and battled. Beside TB(3) is the number of total link battles you
have had, beside W(3) is the number of link battle wins and beside L(3) is the
number of link battle losses.
Class is just a ranking given to you based on your total number of battles,
wins, and losses. Class(1) deals with your class for in-game battles, and
Class(2) deals with your team's class for link battles. At the beginning, your
team's class is "Rookie Team", but it will get better as you progress, although
it is not important, so you can forget about it if you want.
Once all has been understood, press B to get to the last menu again. If you
press down to select a blader and press A, you will be brought to another menu.
Let's select Tyson (the character at the bottom) and press A to bring up his
menu. It shows individual stats about him, and it looks like this:
-------------------------------
| --> |
| -------------- --------- |
| | | |E | |
| |LV : ##| | | |
| |Type : XX| | Blader's| |
| |Shoot :##(##)| | Image | |
| |Power :##(##)| | | |
| |Synchro:##(##)| --------- |
| |Skill : XX| --------- |
| |EXP : ##| | Name L| |
| -------------- --------- |
| |
-------------------------------
LV is the blader's level. Type is the blader's blading style and it varies
among these four: Attack, Endurance, Speed and Balance. Shoot, Power and
Synchro are three stats of a blader that strengthens their beyblades in battle.
If you look beside Shoot, Power and Synchro, you'll see that there are two
numbers beside each, one number without any brackets, and a number in brackets
beside it. The number on the left is the actual stat, and the number on the
right inside the brackets is what that stat stands at after being boosted by
your launcher. Since you begin with a basic launcher with no boost, the
numbers are the same for now.
Skill is a sort of specialty that a blader can perform, and it varies among
these five: Wild Guts, Super Drive, Rush Attack, Iron Shield and Hyper Snipe.
All types, stats and skills, will be explained in the section titled "Stats".
At the corner of the Blader's Image on the right, there is a symbol that I have
shown here marked with "E", which is a symbol that represents the blader's
element, and it will be explained in the section titled "Elements". In the box
below the blader's image, the big yellow L mark beside the name indicates that
this member (Tyson) is the leader of this team. Leaders may change depending on
levels and statistics. Each team of four has a leader marked similarly.
If you press Right, you will be taken to another menu that looks like this:
-------------------------------
| <-- |
| -------------- --------- |
| | Moves | | | |
| |Move 1 Name | | Bit | |
| |Move 2 Name | | Beast's | |
| |Move 3 Name | | Image | |
| | | | | |
| | | --------- |
| | | --------- |
| | | | BB Name | |
| -------------- --------- |
| |
-------------------------------
This menu shows you the information about your Bit Beast that is in your
beyblade's bit chip. This is fixed for each character, and some characters
don't even have them. For Tyson, his bit beast is a blue dragon named Dragoon,
whose image you can see here on the right. BB Name is where its name (Dragoon)
is written. The "Moves" box shows you all the moves your beyblade (or bit
beast) has learned so far. Not all learned moves are displayed here, but each
learned move can be used in battle. For a list of all learned moves for each
character, see the section titled "Character List".
If you press A while in this menu or in the menu to the left, you will be
brought to a menu which looks similar to the Team Statistics menu earlier. This
menu shows you the individual battle stats of the specific blader.
When all is done, keep pressing B until you are back to the World Map. Once
again, press L, but this time select the option to the right and press A. You
will be brought to a beyblade menu, where you can see the parts, stats and
gimmicks of each beyblade that belong to each blader in your team. However, I
don't use this menu, as there is a better menu that does the same thing, just
better, which I will get to later on.
Once again, press B until you are back to the World Map. This time, enter
Akebono Town. Press Right once and you will be over Tyson's home. Press A, and
you will be given two options. While the left option is selected, press A. This
is the Beyblade Customization Menu, and it looks like this:
------------------------------------
| -------- |Gimmicks |
|Blader's |Weight | |(Up to 3)|
|Name |Disk | | |
| ---------- | | |---------|
||Attack | |________| |HP |
||Ring | ------------ |Attack |
|| ||Spin Blade|| |
|| ||Gear Base ||Defense |
|| || || |
| ---------- ------------ |Speed |
|--------------------------| |
| |Weight |
| <Beyblade's Name> |Search |
------------------------------------
These are the parts of a single beyblade. Attack Ring is the top part, followed
by the Weight Disk, after which comes Spin Gear, and at the bottom comes the
Blade Base. Not all blade base require a separate spin gear. Gimmicks are
special abilities that a beyblade may have. The bottom right box shows the
stats of the beyblade, which are decided by the parts that you are using for
a specific beyblade. Both gimmicks and beyblade stats will be explained in the
section titled "Stats".
If you press A, a menu comes up over the right side of the screen, and it looks
like this:
------------------------------------
| -------- | |AR ||
|Blader's |Weight | | ------ |
|Name |Disk | | |WD ||
| ---------- | | | ------ |
||Attack | |________| | |SG ||
||Ring | ------------ | ------ |
|| ||Spin Blade|| |BB ||
|| ||Gear Base || ------ |
|| || || |EQB ||
| ---------- ------------ | ------ |
|--------------------------| |BBN ||
| | ------ |
| <Beyblade's Name> | |DBB ||
------------------------------------
You can press Up and Down to scroll through these buttons on the right. I've
marked these buttons for the sake of explanation. AR stand for Attack Ring, and
pressing this will bring up a menu where you can compare your current attack
ring with other attack rings that you have in stock. You can scroll through the
attack rings using up/down and left/right. Once you have selected an attack
ring, you can press A on it to use that one instead. However, if the text is
red colored, it means that the attack ring is already being used in another
blade, and so you cannot use it. Press B to return to the last menu.
Similarly, WD, SG and BB buttons bring up a similar menu for the Weight Disk,
Spin Gear and Blade Base respectively. For spin gears, you must choose a blade
base first before you can choose a spin gear that fits.
The button marked EQB is used to Equip a beyblade to a certain character, i.e.
assign them. They are already assigned from the beginning, but if you want to
change which beyblade is assigned to whom, you can do so right here. If your
beyblade breaks, you must reassemble it and reassign it to the character it
belonged to using this button, because you cannot battle until each member has
at least one beyblade assigned to them.
The button marked BBN can be pressed if you want to give a custom name to your
beyblade that will be displayed in various locations. The button marked DBB can
be pressed if you want to dismantle your beyblade and practically delete it. If
you press it, a confirmation message will pop up, where if you select yes and
press A, the beyblade will be removed, and the parts will be returned to your
inventory of parts.
That's all for the beyblade customization menu. Press B until you're over
Tyson's home in the Akebono Town Map. Press A while you're here again to bring
up the two options again, but this time, select the right option and press A.
This is the Shooter (Launcher) Menu, and it looks like the one below:
--------------------------------
| |
| |
| ---------------- ---------- |
|| Name L LV:##| | | |
||----------------| | Blader's | |
|| Launcher Name |<| Image |>|
||Type : XX | | | |
||Shoot :###(###)| | | |
||Power :###(###)| ---------- |
||Synchro:###(###)| ---------- |
||Skill : XX | | | |
|| | | | |
| ---------------- ---------- |
--------------------------------
This is similar to the Blader Menu that was shown earlier. Everything is the
same as before, including the three stats given. You can scroll through the
bladers in your team by pressing left or right. While any blader is selected,
press A to bring up the launchers. It shows the stats of the current launcher
that is equipped by the blader on whom you pressed A. This is what it looks
like right now:
--------------------------------
| |
| |
| ---------------- ---------- |
|| Launcher N :#/#| | | |
||----------------| |Launcher's| |
||Compenst.:* |<|Image |>|
||Winder-SP:* | | | |
||Winder-LG:* | | | |
||Shoot :+ #(###)| ---------- |
||Power :+ #(###)| ---------- |
||Synchro:+ #(###)| | | |
|| | | | |
| ---------------- ---------- |
--------------------------------
Launcher N is where the name of the launcher currently displayed on the right
is shown, which is also the currently equipped launcher by that blader. The
number beside the launcher name is the amount of this specific launcher that
you have, and the amount of this specific launcher currently in use. You have
four of these launchers, and all four are in use, so it says 4/4. The left box
shows the stats of the launcher. Compenst. stands for Compensation, Winder-SP
means Winder (Ripcord) Speed, and Winder-LG stands for Winder (Ripcord) Length,
and all three of these stats are measured in a star based rating system. For
the Shoot, Power and Synchro stats, the + 0 means that this launcher gives a
boost of 0 points to these stats (which is no boost at all), but we will get
better launchers later. The brackets once again shows your actual stat after
getting this boost.
If you had more launchers, you could scroll through them by pressing left or
right and equipped a newly selected launcher on the character by pressing A
twice (since there is a confirmation message). For now, let's get out of here
by pressing B until you're back over Tyson's home.
There are three places in Akebono Town that you were not introduced to earlier
by Mr. Dickenson. Press R to return to the entrance of the town, then press
left twice, and you will stop at a place that looks like a playground. This
is the Akebono Park, but it is inaccessible right now. That's because this is
where you can battle a beyblading team named The Excite Four, which consists of
Michiru, Genta, Seichi and either Daichi or Tyson, depending on whether you
are playing Takao version or Daichi version respectively. As you can see, since
three of the four members are already in your team, you cannot access this
place and battle anyone. However, if you change these three members with other
bladers, you will see that this place will become accessible and you can battle
their team here.
Moving on, press left once again and you will be brought to a brown building
known as Bey Encyclopedia. If you press A and enter this place, you will see
that it contains data on all the beyblade parts and launchers you have
collected so far in one place. You can scroll through Attack Rings, Weight
Disks, Spin Gears, Blade Bases, and Launchers, and then press A at any of them
to check the collection of that certain type of part. You can scroll through
the items by pressing left and right, and you can press A at a specific part to
take you to a sub-menu where you are shown the color variation of that item
(except for launchers). Once you are done here, press B until you're back on
the town map.
If you press left again, you will be brought to a light blue building. This is
the Password Center, where you can enter by pressing A, type certain passwords,
and press A again to unlock various beyblade parts and launchers. It is
somewhat like a cheat, and is therefore not our main way to get parts. You can
find a list of all known passwords in the section of titled "Part Passwords".
Now we will move onto the main task and attraction of the game - beyblade
battles. Everything that has been explained so far in this specific section
is connected to these battles.
Press R to return to the entrance of Akebono Town, then press A to get out of
town and into the world map. Press right twice to get to the location where you
can battle The Majestics. Starting off battling with them is a good idea, since
they are the team among the currently available teams that is at the lowest
level (in Daichi version, The White Tigers are instead the team who are at the
lowest level). While members in other teams are at least one level above you,
members of the Majestics are at the same level in which your team members are
in, except for their leader named Robert, who is still a level higher.
Press A to get inside this location, and it will look like this:
-----------------------------------
| ------------ |
| Name | Team Name ||
| --------- ------------ |
|| Blader | |
|| 1 Image |------- |
| --------- Blader | |
| | 2 Image |------- |
| --------- Blader | |
| | 3 Image |------- |
| --------- Blader ||
| | 4 Image ||
| --------- |
| |
-----------------------------------
The selected blader of the Majestics is colored, and the rest are black and
white. Press right or left to scroll through the characters, and press A on any
of them to show some stats of that specific blader. It will look like this:
---------------------------------
| |
| ---------- ------------------- |
||E || <| Bl Name |> ||

---------------------------------
The E at the corner of the blader's image is their element. Bl name is the
name of the currently selected beyblade. A blader may have up to two beyblades
with them at any given time. E1, E2 and E3 are the elements of the Attack Ring,
Weight Disk and Blade Base of the beyblade that is selected. SD is the spin
direction of the blader's spin gear, with R meaning right and L meaning left.
Gimm. is the beyblade's gimmick, if it has any. All of these will be explained
in the section titled "Stats".
I couldn't draw the bars below each stat of the beyblade, but it gets the point
across. If you press left or right, you can scroll between the blader's two
beyblades, which if you notice you will see has different stats. On the bottom
box, B. Name is the name of the current blader whose profile you are in, B.B.
Name is the name of his or her bit beast, LV shows their level and SP, PW, and
SC refers to their Shoot (Spin), Power, and Synchro stats. Press B or A once to
get back to the last menu.
Now, for introducing the members of the Majestics... The member on the far left
with green hair is Oliver, to his right with blond hair is Enrique, next to him
with dark red-brown hair is Johnny, and finally to the very right is their
leader with purple hair named Robert.

Beyblade Battles & Controls [SEC6.2]
=======================================
Now we will start the battle. Press Start while you're on the screen where the
four blader's images are visible and the battle will be initiated. A screen
will appear where some things are shown about your team on the left side of the
screen, and your opponent's team on the right side of the screen. It will soon
get to another screen that look like this:
-------------------------------
| |
| ___ ___ ----------- |
| |B1 | |B2 | |E ||

-------------------------------
Here, you need to pick three bladers from your team who will go into battle,
and you also need to decide the order in which the chosen three will battle.
You can scroll through the four bladers by pressing right or left. You can
choose a member by pressing A on them, and their image will turn black and
white, and "1st" will be written on their image, indicating that this blader
will battle first. You may press B if you want to deselect the chosen member.
Just like that, choose the first, second and third blader who will battle, but
there is no turning back after you have chosen the third blader, because the
screen will change automatically.
You are brought to a screen where on the left, you will see the image of the
blader you chose to battle with first, and on the right, the opponent's team's
first chosen member who is randomly selected will be displayed. Press A until
you are brought to the launching part, where some blue and red teeth are shown
on the bottom, and a ring moves across these teeth back and forth. This process
is called launching, and you launch by pressing A when the ring is moving back
and forth. The launch will be stronger the more to the right end of the teeth
you stop at by pressing A. By stronger, I mean that your beyblade will last
longer. Try to press A at the last point of the ripcord, but launching anywhere
in the red region of the teeth is also pretty good. This will start the battle.
You will be brought inside the battle where you'll see your beyblade and the
opponent's blade moving around in circles. The battle screen looks like this:
--------------------------------
|B1 |I II|B2 |
|Image|=========VS=========|Image|
|_____|=======______=======|_____|
| |
| |
| |
| |
| ====== |
| ========ATK|
|________________________________|
|B | |
|Image| |
| | |
--------------------------------
"B1 Image" is the image of the blader that you have chosen to battle with. "B2
Image" is the image of the blader who is your opponent for this battle. Beside
your blader's image, the blue bar shows the amount of HP your beyblade has
left, which drains automatically with time and with damage from opponent's
blade's moves. When it goes down to zero, you lose. Similarly, beside your
opponent's image is his/her beyblade's HP bar colored red, which, if empty,
will result in you winning.
The green bars below each of the HP bars represent the amount of bit power that
the respective bladers have. This bit power is necessary to perform special
launches, special attacks, special defenses and special evasions, none of
which you have access to at the beginning. Bit power is gained by performing
normal launches, normal attacks, normal defenses and normal evasions.
The two bars on the bottom left beside "ATK" are used to determine when you can
perform an attack. The bottom bar between the two is the Attack Gauge. It
represents how much time you need to wait for to be able to make an attack. If
it is full, it means that you don't need to wait any longer to make an attack.
The top bar between these two is the Search Bar. It is a bar divided into six
segments that shows you how close your beyblade is to your opponent's beyblade.
You can perform an attack only when your beyblade is close enough to the
opponent's beyblade to make all segments of this bar red. In other words,
search signifies the striking distance. You can press and hold L to move your
blade away from your opponent's blade, and you can press and hold R to move
your blade closer to your opponent's blade. Only when both bars are full, that
is only when both the Attack Gauge and Search Bar are full, you can initiate
the attack by pressing A.
The box at the bottom of the screen pops up from time to time to signify people
talking, with the image of the person talking on the left. Mostly, the Blader
DJ (a guy wearing a red bandana) is the one talking and commenting about the
battle.
When all is said and done, you can initiate an attack. When you initiate an
attack, a menu pops up with only one option - "Attack". Pressing A will bring
up another menu with two options - "Attack" and "Jump Attack". Attack will
perform a damage inflicting tackle, while jump attack will perform a jumping
tackle with more damage. You might be wondering why you would ever use attack
when jump attack is also available. That's because the more powerful attack you
perform, the longer it takes for your attack bar to fill up, which means it
will take longer before you can perform another attack.
If you didn't get to attack, and your opponent attacked you instead, you will
again be shown another menu. This menu has two options - "Guard (Defend)" or
"Evade". Defend will cause you to take less damage from your opponents attack
and Evade will cause you to completely dodge the opponent's attack. Once again,
you might be wondering why you would ever use defend when evade is also
available. That's because defend never misses, but evade is up to chance. If
you successfully evade, you will take no damage at all, but if you fail, you
will take much more damage than what you would have if you had defended.
In this way, the battle will go on until someone loses, and the other blader
wins. Whoever runs out of HP first loses, whether it is because of time passing
or because of being attacked. The other blader wins this way.
This way, keep challenging all the teams everywhere to win beyblade parts from
them and level up. Instead of challenging just one team, challenge all the
teams, because not only does that offer more variety in battle, but also lets
you have various kinds of parts. Moreover, you can unlock more bladers to add
to you team this way. The way to unlock bladers are explained in the section
titled "Getting New Team Members".
=======================================
Levels & More About Battles [SEC6.3]
=======================================
As you keep battling, your team's bladers will level up, and so will other
bladers all over the world. With an increase in each level, you become more
powerful, as the stats Shoot, Power, and Synchro of the blader increases.
Moreover, at certain levels, you will learn new moves that you can use in
battles. All bladers learn similar moves at similar times, but they may differ
sometimes. To see what moves each character can learn and at what level, see
the section titled "Character List".
This way, any blader will learn three normal attacks, may learn up to three
special attacks, may learn an ultra special attack, will learn a counter
attack, may learn a special defense move OR a special evasion move, and may
learn up to two special launches beside the normal beyblade launch.
Bit Gauge: Normal launches, normal attacks, normal defense and normal evasion
fills the bit gauge, while special launches, special attacks, special defense,
special evasion, counter attack, and ultra special attack empties the bit
gauge. The more powerful the normal attack, the more the bit gauge fills up,
and the more powerful the special attack, the more the bit gauge empties.
While all special attacks require a fixed amount of bit power to perform, the
ultra special attack does not require a fixed amount. The ultra special attack
will use up all of the bit power remaining, no matter how much, and it can only
be used when your HP is at or below 25%. It can also be used only once per
battle, because it is sort of like a desperation move.
Remember, the more powerful the move used in battle, the longer it will take
before you can attack again.
Special Defense is a more powerful variant of the normal defense, with it
reducing the damage from your opponent's attacks even further. Special Evasion
has a higher chance of dodging your opponent's moves. However, both Special
Defense and Special Evasion drains the bit gauge.
The Counter Attack is a form of special attack, but it is made against your
opponent's attack. The result is that both the beyblades will clash against
each other, and one will come out successful, whoever is more powerful, or
simply more lucky. The successful blade takes no damage, while the other blade
takes a lot of damage.
Special Launches are different from normal launches in that they start out by
trying to inflict damage on your opponent's beyblade at the cost of some bit
power. Normal launches will try to evade special launches, and if both bladers
use a special launch, then the same mechanism as in counter attack will be used
to decide who is successful.
Breaking Your Opponent's Beyblade: You can sometimes break your opponent's
beyblade if you want, and they can do the same to you. This can only be done if
you use a special launch, special attack, counter attack or ultra special
attack on your opponent's beyblade as your last move. The same also applies for
them. Even then, it will not always break. Only if the difference between your
strength and your opponent's strength is high enough can this happen. The
chances of breaking someone's beyblade increases if you get them to a low
amount of HP first, then finish them off using a special attack or counter
attack.
Remaining Member: In any battle, you have to choose three bladers to battle
with. The remaining blader from your team that you did not pick may help you
out in two different ways based on their skill. If the benched blader has the
skill Iron Shield, then they may randomly launch their blade into the stadium
to take a hit for their ally if their ally has 30% or less of their HP
remaining, no matter how unfair it seems. If the benched blader has the skill
Hyper Snipe, then they may randomly make their ally's Special Attack LV.3 or
Ultra Special Attack a sure critical hit if their ally has 30% or less of their
HP remaining. For more details on these two skills, see the "Blader Stats"
subsection in the "Stats" section.
=================
Stats [SEC6.4]
=================
Beyblade parts have one set of stats and launchers have another set of stats.
Bladers have three stats that are common with three stats of launchers.
--------------
Beyblade Stats
--------------
The set of stats that beyblade parts have are visible in the Beyblade
Customization Menu accessed from Takao's home by choosing the left option. It
can also be accessed from any place by pressing the L button and selecting the
right option. The stats are listed on the right side of the beyblade menu in
this order:
1. HP - It determines the amount of spin or endurance, and therefore
determines how long your beyblade will last.
2. Attack - It determines the amount of damage your beyblade does to your
opponent's beyblade with each attack and special launch.
3. Defense - It reduces the damage taken from your opponent's attacks.
4. Speed - It determines your beyblade's accuracy. Higher accuracy gives you
a higher chance to hit your opponent's beyblade when they try to
evade your attacks or special launches.
5. Weight - It determines your beyblade's evasion. Weight is the only
exception in that, the LOWER the value for weight, the HIGHER the
evasion and the better it is. Higher evasion gives you a higher
chance to dodge your opponent's attacks when you use the move
"evade" in battle, or to dodge your opponent's special launches
when you launch normally. Lower weight also causes your beyblade
to get pushed back LESS when your blade impacts with opponent's
beyblade while not attacking or defending, which is a good thing.
6. Search - It determines how close your beyblade needs to be to your
opponent's beyblade to be able to attack it. In other words,
search signifies the striking distance. Higher search means that
you can initiate an attack even from a greater distance.
------------------------
Shooter (Launcher) Stats
------------------------
The set of stats that launchers have are visible in the Shooter (Launcher) Menu
accessed from Takao's home by choosing the option to the right. Pressing A on
each blader will allow you to scroll through the launchers and show you their
individual stats. The stats are listed on the left side in this order:
1. Compensation - It is measured using a star-based rating system. It
determines the amount of extra boost you get to your Shoot/Spin, Power and
Synchro stats when you launch your beyblade. You get this extra boost only
if you launch within the Red Teeth portion of your Winder (Ripcord). Higher
compensation gives a higher amount of boost, but also lowers the number of
Red Teeth in your Winder (Ripcord). So, less red teeth = higher boost.
* - 3 Red Teeth
** - 3 Red Teeth
*** - 2 Red Teeth
**** - 2 Red Teeth
***** - 1 Red Tooth
Note that Launcher No. 021 and 022 are exceptions in this category, because
they have a compensation of 5 stars, but they have 2 red teeth each.
2. Winder (Ripcord) Speed - It is measured using a star-based rating system. It
determines how fast the pointer moves across the Winder (Ripcord) while you
are about to launch. Higher speed makes it difficult to stop at the desired
point at launch, but probably gives a boost to a stat (not sure).
* - Low Speed
*** - Medium Speed
***** - High Speed
3. Winder (Ripcord) Length - It is measured using a star-based rating system.
It determines the overall length of the Winder (Ripcord). Longer Winder
(Ripcord) probably gives a boost to a stat (not sure).
* - 9 Teeth
** - 11 Teeth
*** - 11 Teeth
**** - 15 Teeth
***** - 19 Teeth
4. Shoot/Spin (SP) - Boosts HP, causing your beyblade to last longer. It also
possibly raises defense, causing your beyblade to take
less damage from opponent's attacks.
5. Power (PW) - Boosts Attack, increasing damage from your beyblade's
attacks and special launches.
6. Synchro (SC) - Boosts Evasion and Accuracy, increasing the chance for
your beyblade to both dodge attacks and hit the opponent
more accurately when they try to dodge your attacks.
------------
Blader Stats
------------
Shoot/Spin (SP) - Boosts HP, causing your beyblade to last longer. It also
possibly raises defense, causing your beyblade to take less
damage from opponent's attacks.
Power (PW) - Boosts Attack, increasing damage from your beyblade's attacks
and special launches.
Synchro (SC) - Boosts Evasion and Accuracy, increasing the chance for your
beyblade to both dodge attacks and hit the opponent more
accurately when they try to dodge your attacks.
Type - A blader can have one of these four types: Attack, Endurance, Speed,
Balance. All it does is that it dictates which stat they usually have
more of and which stat they usually have less of. Attack type bladers
have more Power (PW), Endurance type bladers have more Shoot/Spin (SP),
Speed type bladers have more Synchro (SC), and balance type bladers have
stats that are pretty equal without any stat being higher or lower.
Skill - A blader can have one of these five skills: Wild Guts, Super Drive,
Rush Attack, Iron Shield, and Hyper Snipe. These skills are explained
in detail below:
Wild Guts - A blader with this skill will have the Defense stat of
their blade increased by 30%, which means that the damage
from their opponent's attacks will be reduced.
Super Drive - A blader with this skill will have their Synchro (SC)
stat increased by 30%, which means that the Evasion and
Accuracy of their blade will be increased, increasing
the chance for their blade to both dodge attacks and hit
their opponent more accurately when their opponent tries
to dodge their attacks.
Rush Attack - A blader with this skill will refill their Attack Gauge
20% faster, which means that the blader will be able to
attack faster and more often if they want to.
I've tried experimenting with this skill for a while, but
the Attack Gauge doesn't really seem to refill faster for
bladers with this skill. The Attack Gauge does refill
faster for some bladers and beyblades, but that seems to
have nothing to do with the skill of that blader.
Iron Shield - If a blader with this skill is not chosen in battle (i.e.
they are benched), they have a high chance of randomly
launching their blade into the stadium in the middle of a
battle to take a hit for their ally, completely
preventing any damage from the opponent's attack in the
process. They will do this only if their currently
blading ally has 30% or less of their HP remaining, and
is about to be hit by a Special Attack (Lv.1, 2, 3) or
Ultra Special Attack from their opponent. This effect can
happen only up to twice per battle.
Hyper Snipe - If a blader with this skill is not chosen in battle (i.e.
they are benched), they have a high chance of randomly
boosting the critical hit chance for their ally to 100%,
causing their ally's current attack to make a critical
hit for sure. They will do this only if their currently
blading ally has 30% or less of their HP remaining, and
is about to use a Special Attack Lv.3 or an Ultra Special
Attack on their opponent. This effect can happen only up
to twice per battle.
====================
Elements [SEC6.5]
====================
There are five elements in the game, and they are the following:
None, Earth, Fire, Wind, and Water.
Each Attack Ring, Weight Disk, and Blade Base is associated with a single
element. Each blader in the game is also associated with a single element that
does not necessarily have to be the same as their real element or their element
in the anime. For example, we know from the anime and from this game itself
that Tyson's bit beast Dragoon and all of his special moves are wind-based, but
in this game, he is associated with the element of water.
The element associated with each blader or with each of these three types of
parts can be determined by looking at one of the corners of the image of the
blader or the images of each of these three parts (the corner varies depending
on which screen you are in). It is indicated by a coloured Japanese letter
embossed on a coloured sphere.
The following are the letters (in romaji) and sphere colours that are
associated with each element:
Letter
Sphere Colour (In Romaji) Element
------------- ----------- -------
Light Blue Kara None
Brown Chi Earth
Blue Mizu Water
Red Hi Fire
Green Kaze Wind
Each element is strong against one element, with the exception of None, which
takes neutral damage from all elements and does neutral damage to all elements.
Earth is strong against Water, Water is strong against Fire, Fire is strong
against Wind, and Wind is strong against Earth. If the elements associated with
blader A or blader A's beyblade parts are strong against the elements
associated with blader B or blader B's beyblade parts, then Blader A's Attack,
Defense, and Evasion stats will rise. In other words, your attacks will do more
damage, your opponent's attacks will do less damage, and you are more likely to
be successful if you are trying to dodge your opponent's attacks. The effect
stacks up with increasing number of parts of the same element.
In stadiums associated with a single element, you will find that all Earth and
Fire stadiums have bladers whose elements are either Earth or Fire, and that
all Wind and Water stadiums have bladers whose elements are either Wind or
Water. I cannot confirm it, but I think that stadiums with a single element
associated with them increases the power of bladers associated with the same
element.
=============================
Matching Beyblade [SEC6.6]
=============================
From what I've read, if the colors of the beyblade parts of a blader's beyblade
matches, that blader will get a small boost in their Shoot/Spin, Power and
Synchro stats. This may also happen if the elements of the parts and/or the
blader matches up. However, I'm not sure about this information.
=============================
Beyblade Gimmicks [SEC6.7]
=============================
The gimmicks of each beyblade are certain special abilities that arise due to
using certain beyblade parts that have them. All gimmicks are visible in the
upper right hand side of the Beyblade Customization Menu, that is IF any are
present in your currently selected beyblade. A single beyblade can have up to
three different types of gimmicks.
Here's a list of all gimmicks and what they do:
SP1 (S1) - Activates automatically at around 50% HP. It increases your blade's
HP, causing your blade to last longer.
SP2 (S2) - Activates automatically at around 50% HP. It increases your blade's
HP, causing your blade to last longer. The HP boost is more compared
to SP1 (S1).
DF1 (D1) - Activates automatically at around 40% HP. It increases your blade's
Defense, reducing damage from opponent's attacks. However, it also
reduces your blade's attack power, causing your blade to deal less
damage.
DF2 (D2) - Activates automatically at around 40% HP. It increases your blade's
Defense, reducing damage from opponent's attacks. However, it also
reduces your blade's attack power, causing your blade to deal less
damage. The Defense boost and attack penalty is greater compared to
DF1 (D1).
DC (DC-AM, DC-SM) - Let's you switch between two modes, namely Attack Mode
(Normal) and Spin Mode (Endurance). Attack Mode is the same
as normal mode. Spin mode is like the SP1 gimmick.
TC (TC-AM, TC-DM, TC-SM) - Let's you switch between three modes, namely Attack
Mode (Normal), Defense Mode (Defense), and Spin Mode
(Endurance). Attack Mode is the same as Normal Mode.
Defense Mode is like the DF1 gimmick. Spin Mode is
like the SP1 gimmick.
SMx1 (SM1) - I'm not sure about its effect. It represents South Magnecore from
the anime. I've read rumors that it raises attack and lowers
defense in the game. However, to me, it seemed to increase the
Evasion and Accuracy of the blader's blade instead, increasing the
chance to both dodge attacks and hit the opponent more accuretely
when they try to dodge your attacks.
SMx2 (SM2) - The same as SM1, except that the effects are stronger.
SMx3 (SM3) - The same as SM2, except that the effects are even stronger.
NMx1 (NM1) - I'm not sure about its effect. It represents North Magnecore from
the anime. I've read rumors that it raises defense and lowers
attack in the game. However, to me, it seemed to increase the
Evasion and Accuracy of the blader's blade instead, increasing the
chance to both dodge attacks and hit the opponent more accuretely
when they try to dodge your attacks.
NMx2 (NM2) - The same as NM1, except that the effects are stronger.
NMx3 (NM3) - The same as NM2, except that the effects are even stronger.
Gimmicks are able to stack up. Two SP1 stacking up creates SP2, and two DF1
stacking up creates DF2. SM and NM can also stack like this INDIVIDUALLY up to
SMx3 and NMx3. A beyblade can even have more than one type of gimmick. However,
SM and NM cannot stack up TOGETHER, because they cancel each other out, as they
are the opposite poles of a magnet.
====================================
Getting New Team Members [SEC6.8]
====================================
As I have already mentioned before, you can unlock bladers from other teams,
who you can switch with any member from your team to build completely new
teams. Not all bladers can be unlocked in-game in a single version of this
game, so you must link with other players of this game to unlock all the
bladers in one game.
To unlock a blader, you must defeat them under certain conditions in their own
area, which is to say in the location on the world map (or Akebono Town map)
that you can find them as a part of a team in. Fighting them in the various
stadiums and tournaments will not unlock them, and will not even count toward
unlocking them.
Moreover, when you take a member away from any team to add to your team, that
empty slot in the team that you took the member away from is filled by someone
else, which varies for each team. I will mention who those replacement members
are for each team below:
The Excite Four - Tyson, Daichi
The Bladebreakers - Tyson, Daichi
The White Tigers - Ray
The All Starz - Max
The Majestics - Daichi (Takao version only), Takao (Daichi version only)
The Demolition Boys - Kai
The Saint Shields - Daichi (Takao version only), Takao (Daichi version only)
Team Psykick - Daichi (Takao version only), Takao (Daichi version only)
Team Amou - Kai
Other than The Excite Four and The Bladebreakers, if you take more than one
member from a team, or also have the replacement member on your team too, then
the team will become inactive on the map, and you will not be able to battle
them. For The Excite Four and The Bladebreakers, up to two members will be
replaced by Tyson and Daichi, after which they will also become inactive, and
you will be unable to battle them.
-----------------------------------
Unlockable Bladers in Takao Version

The bladers listed in this section can only be unlocked in Takao version
normally, with the exception of Kennosuke, who can be unlocked in both

blade once, out of which at least his last defeat must be by using
Haruka.
Kennosuke Win the final tournament.
========================================
Qualifying Tournament (SBC1) [SEC6.9]
========================================
Although there are no prerequisite to enter this tournament, I would recommend
that you train all your team members to at least level 15 before trying this
tournament, or even up to level 18 to be safe. I would also recommend
customizing your team members' beyblades with the best parts in your collection
so far.
Press A on the SBC1 location on the map. Once you're inside, press Start to
initiate the tournament. The tournament has three rounds in total, and you must
win at each round in order to advance to the next.
On the first and second round, you will have to randomly face any two teams
from the choices of The Majestics, The All Starz and The Demolition Boys. In
Daichi version, the choices are among The White Tigers, The All Starz, and The
Demolition Boys instead. All of your opponents in the first and second round
are at level 15, so be prepared. Press Start each time to initiate the battles
until you're in the third round, which is also the final round.
In the final round, you will face a new team - The Bladebreakers, which
consists of Kai, Ray, Max, and Daichi. All of the members of this team are at
level 18, so you need to be even more careful.
If you win the whole tournament for the first time, you get two Launcher No.
011 and two Launcher No. 016 as prizes from Mr. Dickenson. Once you have the
chance later on, you should equip these launchers to you team members, as they
are much better than the default launchers that you start with.
Once you are outside, Mr. Dickenson once again guides you around, because new
locations have been unlocked in the World Map and in Akebono Town. In Takao
version, the first new location that is unlocked is the stadium marked SB2,
which is the location for the Decisive Tournament. The next location that is
unlocked is a village called the White Tiger Clan, where you can battle the
beyblade team named The White Tigers. After that, a brown tower is unlocked,
where you can battle the team named The Saint Shields. Then another tower
colored gray is unlocked, which is known as the Hurricane Tower, or the
Hurricane Stadium, where you can battle bladers of the Air and Water elements
at random. The final location to unlock in the World Map is the desert, where
there is a Desert Stadium in which you can battle bladers of the Earth and Fire
elements at random.
After that, Mr. Dickenson goes to Akebono Town and unlocks a new location there
as well, which is a tall building marked "BBA" where you can battle the team
named The Bladebreakers, which was the last team you had to battle in the
qualifying tournament.
In Daichi version, instead of The White Tigers, the team that is unlocked is
The Majestics, and instead of The Saint Shields, the team that is unlocked is
Team Psykick, who is located on a building on an island. The rest of the places
unlocked is the same.
Once Mr. Dickenson is done, you are left alone. Equip the new launchers and
battle these new teams and the old teams too until you have collected some
good parts, launchers, and leveled up enough. One thing you should know is that
you can win launchers by attending the qualifying tournament again, and by
battling in the newly unlocked Desert and Hurricane Stadium. Once you have had
enough battles, you can head for the Decisive Tournament.
=======================================
Decisive Tournament (SBC2) [SEC6.10]
=======================================
Although there are no prerequisite to enter this tournament, I would recommend
that you train all your team members to at least level 30 before trying this
tournament, or even up to level 33 to be safe. I would also recommend
customizing your team members' beyblades with the best parts in your collection
so far and equipping the best launchers.
Press A on the SBC2 location on the map. Once you're inside, press Start to
initiate the tournament. The tournament has four rounds in total, and you must
win at each round in order to advance to the next.
On the first, second, and third round, you will have to randomly face any three
teams, all of whom will be at level 30. On the fourth round, you will face a
new team named Team Amou, and the members of this team will be at level 33.
If you win the whole tournament for the first time, you get one Launcher No.
013, one Launcher No. 014, one Launcher No. 018, and one Launcher No. 019 as
prizes from Mr. Dickenson. Once you have the chance later on, you should equip
these launchers to you team members if they are better than the launchers that
you have currently equipped on your team members, which is very likely. You
will also meet a purple haired man named Gideon, who conversates with your team
and Mr. Dickenson before the end of this tournament.
Once you are outside, Mr. Dickenson guides you around once again as a few more
new locations have been unlocked. In Takao version, the first new location to
be unlocked is the stadium for the Final Tournament. After that, a new stadium
named the Water Stadium is unlocked, where you can battle bladers of the Air
and Water elements at random. Then another new stadium is unlocked named
Volcano 1, which is the Magma Stadium 1, and you can battle bladers of the
Earth and Fire elements at random. After that, the location that is unlocked is
a building on an island, where you can battle Team Psykick. The final location
to be unlocked is a building on an island on the northeast corner of the map,
where you can battle Team Amou, which was the last team that you had to battle
in the decisive tournament.
In Daichi version, instead of Team Psykick, the team that is unlocked is The
Saint Shields. Either way, both Takao version and Daichi version should have
the same locations unlocked up to now.
Once Mr. Dickenson is done, equip the new launchers if they are better. Battle
these new teams and the old teams too until you have collected some good parts,
launchers, and leveled up enough. You should try everything out. Once you have
had your fill, you can head for the Final Tournament.
=============================
Final Tournament [SEC6.11]
=============================
Although there are no prerequisite to enter this tournament, I would recommend
that you train all your team members to at least level 45 before trying this
tournament, or even up to level 50 to be safe. I would also recommend
customizing your team members' beyblades with the best parts in your collection
so far and equipping the best launchers.
Press A on the Final Tournament location on the map. Once you're inside, press
Start to initiate the tournament. The tournament has four rounds in total, and
you must win at each round in order to advance to the next.
This tournament is different than the last ones in that there are no fixed
teams this time. In each round, teams will be made up of four randomly selected
bladers.
Another thing that is different from the last tournaments is that each round
will be held in one of those elemental stadiums instead of a normal stadium, so
bladers of certain elements will be at an advantage and bladers of certain
other elements will be at a disadvantage. The first round will be held in the
Desert Stadium, the second round will be held in the Water Stadium, the third
round will be held in the Magma Stadium 1, and the final round will be held in
the Hurricane Stadium.
For the first, second, and third round, you will have to face bladers from all
teams you have unlocked so far at random, and all bladers in the first three
rounds will be at level 45. In the final round, all bladers will be at level
50, and there will be a new blader among the four in the last tournament that
you have not seen before in any existing team. He is a blader with black hair
and red eyes, and his name is Kennosuke Shishi.
If you win the whole tournament for the first time, Mr. Dickenson will
congratulate you, and the man with purple hair from the Decisive Tournament
earlier named Gideon will give you Attack Ring No. 512, Weight Disk No. 133,
Spin Gear No. 136, and Blade Base No. 398 as gifts or prizes. These parts can
make a powerful beyblade, but the blade is not that good looking in my opinion.
Moreover, the new blader from earlier named Kennosuke will offer to join your
team, so you can switch a member of your team with Kennosuke anytime you want
to from the BBA office.
After all is done, credits will roll, at the end of which you can press A to
be brought to the main menu of the game. Press A twice to start the game again,
and you will be back on the world map again.
In a way, you have finished the game, but not completely. There are still five
locations that you can unlock after finishing the final tournament, but there
are some additional requirements that you need to fulfill to unlock these five
places other than just finishing the final tournament.
The first of these locations to unlock is the Rock Canyon, which has the Rock
Stadium, and to unlock it, you need to have accumulated at least 300 in-game
wins, which you can keep a track of by using the Team Statistics page. The
second of these locations to unlock is the Crystal Stadium, which is a stadium
in one of the frozen icy areas, and to unlock it, you need to have accumulated
at least 330 in-game wins. The third of these locations to unlock is the
Volcano 2, which has the Magma Stadium 2, and to unlock it, you need to have
accumulated at least 360 in-game wins. The fourth of these locations to unlock
is the Sky Stadium, which is on a floating island, and to unlock it, you need
to have accumulated at least 390 in-game wins. The fifth and also the final
location among these to unlock is the Ultimate Tournament, and to unlock it,
you need to have accumulated at least 420 in-game wins.
If you have followed the instructions in this guide properly, then by now, you
should have unlocked every location in the game, regardless of whether you're
playing Takao version or Daichi version. Battle in all places and with everyone
to prepare yourself for the Ultimate Tournament. Collect good beyblade parts
and launchers to use, and get some experience until you've leveled up enough to
feel that you have the ability to take on the challenge of the Ultimate
Tournament. Once you've done whatever you want to do, head for the Ultimate
Tournament.
================================
Ultimate Tournament [SEC6.12]
================================
Although there are no additional prerequisite to enter this tournament, I would
recommend that you train all your team members to at least level 70 before
trying this tournament, or even up to level 80 to be safe. I would also
recommend customizing your team members' beyblades with the best parts in your
collection so far and equipping the best launchers.
Press A on the Ultimate Tournament location on the map. Once you're inside,
press Start to initiate the tournament. The tournament has five rounds in
total, and you must win at each round in order to advance to the next.
This tournament is just like the Final Tournament in that there are no fixed
teams. In each round, teams will be made up of four randomly selected bladers.
Each round will also be held in one of the elemental stadiums unlocked so far,
so bladers of certain elements will be at an advantage and bladers of certain
other elements will be at a disadvantage. This time however, the stadiums are
also random in each round.
This tournament also has a new trick that wasn't there in the earlier
tournaments, which is that you can't see the amount of bit power that your
opponents have in any battle. However, that shouldn't be that much of a
problem, because at this stage, you don't really need to know your opponent's
bit power, and you can also kind of guess how much bit power they have at any
given moment.
In all rounds of this tournament, everyone is at level 80, so be prepared. If
the levels of your team members are over 80, then the levels of everyone in
this tournament will also rise at the same level, but they will stop growing
after level 90.
If you win the whole tournament for the first time, you get Attack Ring No.
511, Weight Disk No. 143, Spin Gear No. 137, and Blade Base No. 397 as prizes
from Mr. Dickenson. These parts can make a powerful beyblade, but the blade is
not that good looking in my opinion.
This is the end. After finishing the ultimate tournament, you have really
finished the game. However, you can always keep playing and battling the other
teams to finish your part collection and fill up the Bey Encyclopedia, which is
a hard challenge, and is impossible without connecting your game with others
who also play this game. You can also unlock more bladers until you have
unlocked all the bladers in the game. Other than keeping on battling, leveling
up to level 99, unlocking all parts, and unlocking all bladers, this is where
the game ends. Congratulations on finishing the game!

Character List [SEC7]
========================
This character list will cover information about all the characters in the
game. It will contain short descriptions about non-playable characters, and it
will contain detailed information about all the beybladers in the game that can
battle you or join your team.
-----------------------
Non-Playable Characters
-----------------------
1. Mr. Dickenson - Stanley Dickenson is the president of the BBA (Beyblade
Battle Association). He is an old man with a large gray mustache. He is
clearly one of the most important persons involved in beyblading, and his
primary job is to promote beyblading around the world. Throughout the game,
he advises and congratulates your team with gifts when you win tournaments.
2. Kenny - He is Tyson's friend. He is a young guy with brown hair and glasses
put up on his head. He helps manage things for the team as he is an expert
when it comes to analyzing beyblade parts and building beyblades. Throughout
the game, he advises you about which parts are good and which are not in
comparison to your collection of beyblade parts. He also tells you at the
end of each battle what parts you won in the battle.
3. DJ Jazzman - He is also known as the Blader DJ. He is the guy with brown
hair wearing a red bandana. He appears in tournaments to host the
tournaments, and he also commentates in each of your battles.
4. Gideon - He is a man with large purple hair extending to the sides of his
head. He is the manager of Team Psykick, and he first appears near the end
of the second tournament, and appears again near the end of the third
tournament. He is one of the antagonists of the anime.

Each blader's stats are shown in a box format under the name of their team,
with each team having four boxes for their four members. Information about
their name, their bit-beast's name and other stats about them are provided,
and at the side, their move list is displayed, which lists the moves they
learn, the level they learn them at, and the types of moves they are.
Note that all Shoot, Power, and Synchro stats are based on bladers' stats at
level 99.

Part Passwords [SEC9]
========================
Enter these passwords in the Password Center, which is the light blue building
in Akebono Town. If a password has brackets (), transliterate the romaji
contained in the brackets and then enter it, without any spaces, i.e. treat it
like a single letter without the brackets.
Passwords have all been tested and proven to work, so if one doesn't work for
you, you are simply entering it wrong. Some Japanese characters are very
similar to each other, so be careful. Also, each password can only be used once
in one savegame, so if you try to use them a second time in the same savegame,
it will act as if the password is wrong and will not work.
Personally, I think using passwords to unlock parts ruins the fun of the game.
Therefore, I recommend using the passwords only after you have completed the
final tournament or ultimate tournament.

Cheat Codes [SEC10]
======================
This is a list of useful cheat codes for both versions of the game. I cannot
guarantee that these codes will work all the time, but they always worked when
I tested them on VBA. Moreover, cheat codes always have a chance to create a
bug in the game, so use them at your own risk.
Personally, I think using cheat codes ruins the fun of the game. Therefore, I
recommend using the codes only after you have completed the final tournament or
ultimate tournament. Moreover, only the unlocking character code is fair to use
in my opinion, because you can't find anyone to link with in this day to unlock
all the characters.

Anime References to Parts [SEC11]
====================================
In this section, I will talk about all noteworthy launchers, attack rings, and
other parts present in this game that also appeared in the anime. I will list
the parts that made an appearance in the anime, and beside them, I will write
in whose possession they made the appearance in.

000 This is the common launcher that a lot of people start off with in the
anime, except that they have different colored variations of it.

004 This is Kai's second launcher.
005 This is Tyson's second launcher.
007 This is Max's second launcher.
008 This is Tyson's third launcher.
009 This is Ray's second launcher.
010 This is Kai's third launcher.
021 This is Tyson's fourth launcher, which he gets in V-Force.
022 This is Kai's fourth launcher, which he gets in V-Force.
023 This is Max's third launcher, which he gets in V-Force.
For some reason, they didn't include Ray's V-Force launcher upgrade in this
game. That's not fair...
