Next update: I'm unlikely to update anytime soon, as it's pretty much complete,
except for a full description of some parts of stages six and seven. My best
guess is there may be another around April.

Table of Contents:

See the 5 character code next to each entry below? It's there to make
navigating this FAQ much simpler. Press CTRL+F together, type the 5 character
code next to the entry you are looking for, and press enter twice. You'll be at
the appropriate section. Awesome. This method works in many programs I have
tested it in, such as Notepad and Microsoft Word. I'm sure it's similar in most
programs though.

on the following websites ONLY:

www.gamefaqs.com

Want to host this FAQ? Found it on another site not listed above? Let me know:

ringwormrulez[at]gmail[dot]com

I may let you host it. Ask. The only requirement is you post the ENTIRE FAQ,
UNEDITED. No changing any of it, and it has to be all there. Try to keep it
updated as well; the most recent version will always be found at GameFAQs.

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE MY PERMISSION BEFORE HOSTING THIS! If not, you are in breach
of the law. Obviously, you can not make profit from this guide by selling it or
anything similar. Once again this is illegal. You can make a copy for personal
usage though if you're that way inclined. I got no problems with that. It's
your printer ink and paper you are wasting.

Got a question or got some info you feel should be included? Again the best way
to contact me is by emailing:

ringwormrulez[at]gmail[dot]com

I may take a while to respond, just letting you know. Also, make sure what you
want to ask is not covered already. Generally, I respond to anybody that needs
help. If I feel the FAQ makes it perfectly clear, and you just haven't read it
properly though, I may not.

IF YOU DO EMAIL ME: Include the game name, or something which makes it obvious
what it's about. I will NOT read ANY emails with attachments, or ones with no
subject line.

I'd like to take some time to thank the people that have helped with this
guide. Firstly, I'd like to thank Sega and Disney for making the game, which is
still one of my favourite platform games. The webmasters that host this FAQ
should get a bit of credit too I guess, as you wouldn't be reading this
otherwise. I'd also like to thank you, the reader, for choosing this guide, and
I hope I helped in some way. Like most of my FAQs, this one is read by roughly
two people per week. You can count yourself among the lucky few that have
stumbled across a true masterpiece! =D

One day at his mansion, Scrooge decides to give each of his nephews Huey, Dewey
and Louie a present - a dime. Questioning the value of this gift from somebody
so rich, it is revealed that Scrooge made all his money by starting with just
one dime, his lucky dime.

Unknown to them all, Magica Despell has been listening at the window. As the
boys and Donald leave to go home, three large birds sweep down and kidnap the
boys and their dimes. Magica then appears and steals Scrooge's lucky dime.
Donald is very upset, and only wants to get his nephews back, but Scrooge
promises Donald a large reward if he also manages to bring back his lucky dime.

The game is spread over seven stages, scattered across the world. There is a
bit of flexibility in the order you complete the stages, this is explained at
the beginning of the walkthrough, but you must complete all seven stages to
complete the game.

Items are obtained for every second enemy you defeat. Some stages also contain
treasure rooms, where items are found inside chests. The items available are as
follows:

Star: Increases your energy meter by 1. This meter has 5 power levels. For
every star you pick up, you will swing/throw your weapon faster. When this
meter is full, Donald will become invincible for a short period of time
(approximately 10 seconds).

1 Up: This item, identifiable by a picture of Donald, will give you another
life. Sometimes you will get 1 Ups nearly every time, other games you will
hardly ever get them. Not sure why this happens.

Gem: These come in two colours - orange and blue. Orange Gems are worth 500
points, blue gems are worth 1000. They are quite rare.

Frisbee/Hammer: These will only appear when you are not carrying a weapon (they
are also found in treasure rooms). It is possible to get through the game with
either weapon. These are very common pickups if you happen to lose your weapon,
I recommend grabbing either if they are available, as you are MUCH safer
holding a weapon.

Experiment with the two types of weapon to see which you prefer. I nearly
always keep the hammer, but I know people that prefer to use the Frisbee.
Whichever one you used last you will begin with on your next life/continue,
which saves you having to hunt it down every time you lose a life.

For the later stages (4 to 7), there are numerous paths you can take to get to
the end. If you struggle with the path I list in the walkthrough: try a
different way. It would get very messy if I tried to describe every path in
some levels.

Don't worry about the time limit. Every time you change screens (which occurs
in every stage except for stage 1), the timer resets. It is a very generous
timer, with three colours: blue, then yellow and finally red. It is better to
take a second and observe where enemies are, than to rush through the game
hoping for a few extra points from time bonuses.

You have unlimited continues. Unfortunately there is no save feature (unless
you are using an emulator of course). If you get really stuck at one part, keep
trying, as you will get better with practice. Allow a couple of hours if you
plan on completing the game though. It could probably be done in around an hour
if you knew what you were doing; I've never really tried to see how fast I can
complete it (maybe one day).

Upon beginning the game, you will notice you have three options available as to
where to go. All three of these locations must be cleared before a second lot
of three stages (stages 4 through 6) are available. Upon completing the first
six stages, the final stage will be available.

Stages One, Two and Three can be played in any order (as can Stages Four Five
and Six). You will probably notice that no matter which of the three you
attempt first, it will be called Stage One. To avoid confusion, I have decided
in this walkthrough that the stages are listed in the order you will play them
if you do not move the cursor on the map screen. A quick summary of which is
which is shown in the following table. As the levels are very different, it
will be evident which section you need to go to in the walkthrough.

Stage One...... Forest
Stage Two...... River
Stage Three.... Aztec ruins
Stage Four..... Island/caves
Stage Five..... Desert/pyramid
Stage Six...... Ice/snow
Stage Seven.... Castle

The locations listed are approximate, and are my guess of roughly where the
level is located. They may not be correct, but I don't have the manual to
check.

                 7.1. Stage One                           (LDLV1)
                _________________________________________________

Location: Canadian woodlands
Terrain: Forest
Objective: Rescue Louie
Difficulty: Quite easy
Enemies: Mushrooms, spiders, bees, beehives, beavers, sticks, Boss (bear).

One point to note before I continue, if you kill an enemy, then return to that
screen, the enemy will be back. Great for getting items, not so great if you
forget they are there. There is no need to backtrack in this game, and unless I
specifically say so, I don't recommend you do it.

Walk to the right. You will come across two mushrooms (the first one is on
screen as you start, so don't hang around!), and a spider. The mushrooms are
easily killed by one jump or attack, the spiders take two. Just past the
spider, a bee will fly at you (one hit to kill), and if you walk near the hive,
it will fall and explode (avoid). Watch out for another mushroom here as well,
as it can be hard to avoid everything if you rush the level.

Jump up to the slightly higher part of ground, and you will be attacked by two
bees and a spider. Immediately after this, you will come across a jumping
mushroom (slightly harder to hit, but still easy), and another spider. Slight
drop to below the tree you can walk on and you will be attacked by another
jumping mushroom, bee and hive. You will now be up to a large gap, and will
need to use tree branches to cross it.

As soon as you get to the first branch, continue right across two gaps until
you get onto what looks like a line between branches. You will be attacked by
three bees getting here, but you should avoid them easily enough, and I don't
even bother to kill them. This line turns out to be a trampoline! Walk to the
middle of it, and let it bounce you to the next branch - no need to jump. You
will need to jump for the next platform though - it is a very long gap, so hold
right as you jump and you should make it.

On this platform is the most annoying part of the level. Two moles are blowing
large leaves into the air, which you need to jump onto to reach the next high
platform. Ignore the first one completely (walk past it), and wait for the
second one to blow a leaf upwards. As soon as it is airborne, jump onto it, and
quickly jump to the right. There is a bee flying across right near the top of
the gap as well - if you let the leaf be blown upwards slightly before jumping,
you shouldn't get hit by it.

You're not done yet, but the time meter should be yellow by now, so don't hang
around. Just past the "mole gap" you will come across a mushroom, so jump on
it. You should also be able to see your next new enemy - beavers. These poke
their tails out of the ground for a second, then disappear and throw three
sticks out in an arc. They can not be killed, so they must be avoided (as must
the sticks). Go past as soon as they bury themselves. Two beavers with a bee in
between the two are in this small section. Hurry across, and at the end, you
will see a swinging vine: jump up to it! You will be attacked by a bee from
both directions, so bee careful! *Gets shot for adding another lame pun*

*Revives*

Sorry about that. Swing across the first vine, jump off and reach the second.
Jump off to the little branch sticking out of the tree at the end, and allow
any bees on screen to fly off. Jump down and you will be attacked by a mushroom
and low flying bee, one from either side. Either avoid them and continue, or
kill them, the choice is yours. These are the last enemies on the level, so
continue to the right a short distance to face the boss of the level.

   >>>>>>>>>>>>> Boss Fight: Bear with a bee in his bonnet! <<<<<<<<<<<<<

The fight is not too tough, but you can get hurt quite easily. Make sure you
have a weapon before fighting the boss, as it's a lot harder otherwise.

The strategy is simple really. Make sure you are slightly right of centre as
soon as the boss appears (the screen pauses for about two seconds before each
boss fight, so it's easy to know when you are at the end of the level). Let the
bear jump you and swing your hammer as soon as it lands. Run to the left and
hit it with the hammer again on the left of screen. Quickly run to the right
and hit it again. Run to the left and hit it a fourth time to finish him off.
Way too easy. If you can avoid the first jump, and move reasonably quickly, you
can't really lose this.

What? No hammer? It takes seven hits to kill the bear by jumping on it, or
seven with a Frisbee. It's not too hard to kill if you need to jump on its
head, but it is MUCH easier with the hammer or Frisbee.

The attacks of the bear for anyone that wants to know are as follows: Jump
attack and throwing a, well, something brown/orange anyway. After each hit on
the bear, it is invincible for around two seconds. The bee can't hurt you, so
ignore it.

                 7.2. Stage Two                           (LDLV2)
                _________________________________________________

Location: Rocky Mountains, USA
Terrain: River
Objective: Rescue Dewey
Difficulty: Medium
Enemies: Piranhas, snakes, eagles, rocks, spikes, Boss (lion)

This is probably my least favourite level in the game, and it's mainly because
of one section. I normally do the following stage before this one, but that's a
matter of preference. Anyway, you may like it.

Quickly jump to the first branch and kill the piranha coming from the right. It
may not be a piranha (aren't they only found in South America???), but that's
what I'm calling them. Jump across to where the jumping snake is (be careful
with all of your jumps in this level, as it's easy to fall off screen), and
kill it for an item. If you kill both fish, you'll notice the item falls off
screen which is annoying, so try to make every second kill above land. This way
you get more items!

Drop onto the turtle for a ride across the next gap, and kill the fish that
jumps at you. Another snake awaits you up a little further, but this one is a
bit annoying. Kill it with a swing of the hammer as you jump across, then walk
to the left hand side of the platform. An eagle flies past and drops a rock
here; I've been hit by it quite often when rushing through the level. Ride
another turtle, kill/avoid the snake and the two fish, and then take note of
the tree with two branches. As you approach this, another eagle will appear, so
watch out for it. Jump to the branches, jump the gap to the right and you will
be taken to another screen.

As soon as you appear on the next screen, an eagle will drop a rock at you.
Avoid it. Make your way down the platforms slowly avoiding all the piranhas (or
killing them if you want). You can even fall quickly to the bottom, but you
will most likely get hit at least once if you try this. The section is very
short anyway, mainly it's a chance to get a weapon back if you need one as it's
helpful for the next screen (in a way. You can't USE a weapon, but being able
to be hit twice before losing a life is a big help).

I hate this screen! It is probably the worst part of the game, as you need to
swim. Ducks can swim right? Not this one apparently. Well, technically, Donald
CAN swim, but not very well at all. As mentioned in the controls section, press
the jump button (button 2) repeatedly to swim slightly upwards. It's a very
slow process, trust me. You can't use a weapon in this section, avoiding the
piranhas and spikes is all you can hope for.

Anyway, that is enough ranting from me. Let the first piranha swim past, and
then swim to the right, past the two spikes. These fall when you pass
underneath, so it is better to be towards the bottom of screen. The secret from
here on is to keep moving. Swim past the next spike and quickly rise to the top
while going right (you may want to stop going right for a fraction of a second,
but make sure you keep pressing button 2). The section here requires you to go
underneath a fish near the third spike (the falling spike often kills it =D)
OVER the next, then under a third fish. Hold right from the time you get OVER
the fish, as you will soon see, there are two or three piranhas chasing you.
After going under the third fish, you will pass underneath the final spike and
final fish. Quickly swim upwards to the surface to exit the screen. At least,
that's the only time you need to swim in the whole game. It's not hard when you
know what to do, but the controls are pathetic.

Phew, you're probably glad that bit is over. Use the turtle, kill the fish and
snake, and avoid the eagle dropping a rock at the tree. It's too easy, compared
to the last screen. Jump across one gap to kill the snake, then kill a second
one quickly after jumping the next gap (avoid yet another falling rock - this
one can be hard to avoid). One more snake is past the next gap (use the
branches), then drop onto the turtle. Take a ride across the large gap, killing
piranhas. You'll probably need to jump to the tree half way across, and then
get back on to the turtle to get to the next bit of dry land. There is only one
small gap left to cross (with a tree branch above it) before the boss fight.
Cross it so you can finish this annoying stage.

     >>>>>>>>>>>>> Boss Fight: Roar! I'm a lion! Honestly! <<<<<<<<<<<<<

Yep. Looks like an African lion, in the middle of America, but whatever it is,
it's still very easy to beat with the right strategy.

Your weapon of choice for this fight: NEITHER. I find jumping on the lion works
the best. Start by jumping to the branch on the left. Wait for the lion to rush
towards you, and it will jump up at you as it passes. Simply jump up and left
as it does this and you will both avoid its attack, and hit it in the head.
Jump back to the branch and wait. The lion should come from the middle of the
screen and repeat the process. Eight hits and you have won. If you insist on
using a weapon, you can kill it with a Frisbee in eight shots as well. A hammer
is very hard, as it's hard to swing then quickly jump the lion attacking you,
but I believe it's only five hits that way. The method listed above is by far
the safest.

The lion only has one attack, and that is to rush forwards at you. It can also
jump while rushing. It cannot be hurt whilst like this; you can only hurt it
when it is standing still.

                _________________________________________________

                 7.3. Stage Three                         (LDLV3)
                _________________________________________________

Location: Peru
Terrain: Aztec ruins
Objective: Rescue Huey
Difficulty: Easy
Enemies: Pigs, vases, eagles, cactuses, rolling pins, rocks, blue blocks,
spikes, blow darts, Boss (statues, block and rocks)

This is probably the easiest level of the first three (for me anyway), but I
know some people find it a bit hard.

Start by walking to the right and killing the pig and vase. Jump two gaps, and
watch out for the eagle that drops cactuses (or cacti if you prefer...). The
eagle can be killed, the cactuses can not. On the next platform are three
enemies - a pig, a pig that throws rolling pins (these can also be destroyed)
and a vase (at the end of the platform). Kill or avoid the eagle over the
second gap, then watch out for the pig that throws rolling pins as you approach
the stairs. There is one more pig at the top of the steps, and then you will
reach the first of two hill sections.

This is actually fairly simple. Note the second section like this (at the end
of the level) is identical, so learn the pattern. You will be running to the
right the entire time, so there is no need to hold right. The hill starts with
a slight angle, and you won't be moving too fast. You will need to avoid four
eagles (the second and fourth can be jumped on easily, the others can be killed
as well, but you don't get items) in this section, as well as four rocks. These
rocks come from alternate sides, and are fairly simple to jump (from the right,
then left, right, left). Once the fourth rock slides off screen, the hill
becomes steeper, and the rocks move faster. There are five lots of rocks to
avoid, and they are as follows (all groups are avoided in one jump): 1: One
rock from the right. 2: Two rocks from the right. 3: One rock from the left,
two rocks from the right. 4: Two rocks from the left, one rock from the right.
5: One rock from the left. The hill will then flatten out, and you will
continue inside to another area.

You will be attacked immediately on this screen. Kill the two enemies (either
pigs or vases), then quickly attack the moving wall to the right. With a
hammer, this is much easier, as each of the 4 blocks takes one hit to destroy.
With a Frisbee, they take two shots each. Watch out for enemies that jump from
this wall anyway, as they continue to come out of the wall until all four
blocks are destroyed. Jumping also works well. Continue right anyway.

Kill the vase, and then notice there are some big blocks high up. There are two
of these, and enemies will jump out of both. These blocks can NOT be destroyed,
so hurry past, killing any enemies you need to. Kill one more pig and you will
see a long section of spikes and some platforms. PROCEED THROUGH THIS SECTION
SLOWLY. I suggest stopping on each platform, as blue blocks will fly at you in
various directions. Some of these need to be jumped, so stay alert. Once across
the spikes, kill another pig and vase.

In the next section, you will face blow darts falling from the top of screen. I
recommend walking and stopping just before one you see, then proceeding to the
next one, just after it falls. You will get through the section quite easily
this way, just don't stand still for too long. Just past this passage, you will
be faced with another wall of four blocks - it is identical to the first one
(except it moves in the opposite direction). After getting past the wall, there
are three more pigs to dispatch, then you will see the exit back outside.

Walk right and two eagles will drop cactuses at you. Don't try to kill them
with a Frisbee, if you have a hammer, you may want to try though. Just ahead,
up some steps, you will come across a pig throwing a rolling pin, and yet
another pig at the end of the platform. Word of advice: If you don't have a
weapon now, head back left, then right to respawn enemies. This is the last
chance to get items for the level and the boss is almost impossible to kill
without a weapon. Anyway, once past this pig, proceed onto the second hill
section (identical to the first one). At the bottom of the slope, you will
fight the level boss.

    >>>>>>>>>>>>> Boss Fight: My, what big balls you have! <<<<<<<<<<<<<

This fight is EXTREMELY easy with a hammer, slightly tougher with a Frisbee.

As soon as you can, walk underneath the right hand statue. Stand here until it
is brought to life by the moving block. Now either jump and swing the hammer
(two hits) or throw the Frisbee upwards (six hits) to destroy the statue. If
the left hand statue throws a big rock at you before you destroy the statue,
stop attacking immediately, and focus instead on avoiding the rock. As the
statue is destroyed, the block will come out and fly to the other statue -
DON'T LET THIS HIT YOU! If you run left as soon as you destroy the right hand
statue, you should get to the left hand one well before it can hit you. Destroy
this statue in the same way as the first. As soon as it's destroyed, the block,
having nowhere to go, will bounce around the screen. It takes one hit to
destroy, which isn't all that difficult, especially if you still have a weapon.

The statues can't hurt you directly, they attack by throwing rocks. These come
in two types, normal and fire. If you have no weapon, you need to jump on top
of the NORMAL rocks, and then jump off and land on top of the statue. This is
nearly impossible when there is only one statue, and quite tough to do exactly
with two statues. Each statue takes three hits to destroy this way. Don't try
to jump on top of fire rocks, as these shouldn't be touched at all.

The block has no real attack, it just moves around, and hurts you if it touches
you. The ONLY time you can damage it is after BOTH statues are destroyed.

Three Stages complete? Nowhere left to go? Yes, there is. Completing the first
three stages unlocks the next three, as described below.

                 7.4. Stage Four                          (LDLV4)
                _________________________________________________

Location: Hawaii
Terrain: Island/caves
Objective: Reclaim Louie's lucky dime
Difficulty: Medium
Enemies: Natives, fire pillars, statues, small fireballs, large fireballs, lava
fountains, bats, Boss (Crow/bombs)

This is one level where it's hard to say which weapon is better. The Frisbee
works well on the statues, but makes bats harder to kill. I generally stick to
the hammer.

Kill the native, and then jump over two fire pillars. Immediately past the
second one is a statue. These spit small fireballs at you, and can be quite
annoying. Time your attack if you have a hammer so you proceed just after it
spits some fireballs. Past there, you will come across two more fire pillars
and a native. Keep going right, and you should see a native just as you
approach the volcano in the background. Kill it, and then watch out for a
string of large fireballs. These come from the top of screen, and are quite
easy to avoid. You can see where they will fall, so stop just before them and
wait. Towards the end of the platform is another statue at the base of some
steps. Kill it (quite tough if you have a hammer, as you have to contend with
both size fireballs), and also kill the native near the top of the steps. At
the top of the steps you will see a bamboo door - press up to enter it.

Walk right to the edge of the platform, and be careful as you fall. If you go
too far right, you will be hit by a stream of lava from some hidden statues.
Head left to the end then you will need to avoid small fireballs from both
directions as you fall. This requires a bit of luck as well as skill. Head
right on this platform, and drop at the edge. On the platform below, you will
be attacked by fireballs from both sides once again. If you can make it onto
this platform safely, you should be OK. Head left to the end, avoiding any
fireballs and drop off the end. You are now on the bottom platform of this
area. Avoid the two lava fountains to the right (wait for the stream to finish,
and then walk underneath them), press up in the doorway to exit to the next
screen.

Kill the bat, two natives and another bat to your right. Jump up to the higher
platform and kill a statue and another bat. Walk a bit right, kill the native
and you will notice a door with a keyhole in it. Has there been a key yet? No,
there hasn't been one so far. Better continue. Kill the bat then walk slowly
along the bridges. Four large fireballs rise from the lava, hit the ceiling and
drop. If you go too quickly, these will hit you. After the fourth one falls,
you will have another native to kill. Jump to the higher platform and you will
see a key against the wall to the right. JUMP to it (don't fall!), as it's very
easy to fall into the lava, you need to jump at the very end of the platform
due to the low ceiling. After getting the key, you need to return to the locked
door. On the way back, you will face two large fireballs and a bat, so be
careful.

Walk to the right avoiding the two lava fountains. Jump up to the next
platform, avoiding the small fireballs coming from both sides, then make your
way left and up. On the next big platform, there are another two lava fountains
to avoid as you head right and up. Jump from the block to the next platform
when there are no small fireballs and quickly go to the block on the left hand
side. As soon as the area above you is clear of fireballs, quickly jump up the
three blocks and exit in the top right.

Remember how I said I thought the swimming part was the worst bit of the game?
This room challenges that. It involves jumping across very small blocks that
keep getting melted as you jump to them, requiring you to make precise jumps. I
generally lose a few lives here. Try to do a large jump to the second block,
and then quickly jump across the next block and onto the fourth one. This one
won't disappear, so you can rest here. Wait until the fifth block is solid
again, then carefully time your jumps (only go one block at a time from now),
until you get to the ninth block, the next always solid one. Blocks 10 through
12 will get melted, but the last two won't. Get across to the other side for
the door to the next area.

This area is quite annoying, as you need to get through a long line of blocks
to the exits at the bottom of screen. There are 12 rows of six blocks, and
every second or so, two fireballs will fall down, removing two blocks (if
Donald is standing on the blocks). The order blocks are melted is as follows
(numbers refer to blocks from left to right, with 1 being the left block, 6 the
right block):

1+2, 5+6, 1+4, 3+6, 3+4, 2+5
1+2, 5+6, 1+4, 3+6, 3+4, 2+5
1+2, 5+6, 1+4, 3+6, 3+4, 2+5
4+5, 2+3, 2+5, 1+6, 3+6, 1+4
4+5, 2+3, 2+5, 1+6, 3+6, 1+4
4+5, 2+3, 2+5, 1+6, 3+6, 1+4

The pattern is not that hard to work out. Stand on block three for three lots
of fireballs, then move to block one for three lots. Repeat this another two
times. You will then be half way down, and the pattern changes. Stand on block
six for three drops, move to block five for three drops. Repeat ONE more time.
You will now have two rows of blocks left, and you will see there is lava below
- you need to exit on either left or right before you fall into the lava. I
always go left, which is a room similar to the room where you found a key
earlier. The way to the right is another room with melting blocks above lava,
and the pattern seems tougher to me this time as well. This walkthrough assumes
you exit through the LEFT hand door.

Kill the bat near the entry, then cross the log bridge. You will be attacked by
a large fireball, then a bat, and another fireball just before the statue at
the end of the second bridge. This second fireball will hit you if you try to
jump to the statue too quickly. After dispatching the statue, there are only
three enemies before the boss - a native, a bat and another native. Use these
to get a weapon (preferably the Frisbee) before facing the boss.

  >>>>>>>>>>>>> Boss Fight: Bird with explosive droppings! <<<<<<<<<<<<<

Honestly, this boss fight is way too easy, like most of them actually. Do you
really need a strategy? OK, here goes.

Stand on the middle platform. Fight over. That is, if you have the Frisbee
anyway. Jump, and throw at the peak of your jump. Hit the crow, turn around on
the platform and repeat. You need to hit the crow before it dives, but you
should have two attempts to hit the crow before it does. Ten hits and the bird
is history. To make sure you throw at the peak of your jump, throw a fraction
of a second after jumping. With a bit of practice, you can do it most times
this way.

If you have a hammer or no weapon, the fight is slightly tougher. With no
weapon, you need to wait for the bird to dive, then jump and land on it. You
then need to move to the far right, and jump on it as it dives again, then run
to the far left etc. This takes 10 hits. The hammer strategy I use is slightly
different, and a bit risky. I stand in the middle and as soon as the crow drops
its third bomb I jump across and swing the hammer at it. The hammer only takes
5 hits though.

This crow has two attacks. It will drop three bombs at you, at slightly
different angles, and then it will normally dive towards you. Sometimes it just
switches sides of the screen though, instead of diving.

                 7.5. Stage Five                          (LDLV5)
                _________________________________________________

Location: Egypt
Terrain: Desert/pyramid
Objective: Reclaim Huey's lucky dime
Difficulty: Medium
Enemies: Scorpions, scarab beetles, bats, arrows, falling blocks, fake treasure
chests, mummies, spikes, snakes, Boss (Crow, snake)

Kill the scorpion on screen. Jump across the quicksand (if you walk, you will
get sucked down to the scarab beetle at the bottom). As you approach the next
lot of quicksand, look at the top of screen. You will see a bat there which
flies down at you. Bats are probably more annoying in this level than the
previous one, as they are generally flying a bit higher off the ground. Jump
across the two quicksand pits (watch out for the bat!), and then kill the
scorpion on the other side. Continue across the three pits, being careful of a
scorpion just to the right hand side of them. You then need to cross another
three pits, with a bat above, and a scorpion to the right. I hate this bat, as
I often jump into it. Be careful of it. You should now see the pyramid on
screen. There is a bat right on the left hand edge of it, and another scorpion.
There is one more bat, and one more scorpion, then you will enter the pyramid.

Kill the scorpion, and then don't jump as you continue right. You will see an
arrow sticking out of a pipe which is fired across screen after a second or
two. After it passes, you may jump to the top of this block and kill the
scorpion. Drop down the other side, avoiding another arrow, and kill the
scorpion. Run to the right until you get right past all of the falling blocks.
Just on the other side of these is another scorpion, followed by another block
with arrows coming out both sides. There is also a scorpion on top of this
block. Carefully get past this block, and continuing to the right, you will see
two bats and a scorpion. Kill them all, and you should be standing near a
doorway. This is the first treasure room in the game.

What is a treasure room? Inside you will see what looks like an empty room.
Then treasure chests will appear. These can be dispatched like any other enemy,
with one hit, but almost every one will have an item. The few which don't are
actually enemies that look like treasure chests, but normally you destroy them
before they hurt you anyway. In all, there are 11 treasure chests in this
treasure room, (some have more chests than this), and you can get stars, lives,
gems and weapons from these. There is no real time limit, but once you are up
to the last few chests, you are warped out of the room before you can get all
the items if you have taken too long.

After completing the room, you will be back outside the room, and so will the
enemies. Jump on the scorpion before continuing. Now, you can either repeat the
room for extra lives and points, or continue on. You can get a lot of lives by
repeating these rooms, but as you have infinite continues anyway, there is not
much point. Immediately to the right is another set of falling blocks. You
can't just run across underneath this lot though. Walk slowly until the fourth
one has completely fallen, then step to the left edge of it. The second block
should fall behind you. Jump block four, and go slowly as the eighth, ninth and
tenth blocks fall. After these have fallen, you can run across. The last block
will also fall down, but you should pass it easily. To the right you will see a
door and a fake treasure chest. Destroy the chest if you want, and exit.

This room has a row of ten quicksand pits, with moving platforms above them.
You do not need to use the platforms, and if you do, there are two bats above
to watch out for. These can also hit you as you jump across the pits, so
destroy them if necessary. Above the last four pits, there are pots which drop
a LOT of scorpions. These can fall on you, but will not be able to walk on the
sand; they stay on the platforms though. Get past this area as quickly as
possibly, and to the right hand edge. There is a single scorpion and a doorway
here - use the door.

This next room consists of large falling blocks. These will eventually form a
set of steps enabling you to leave the room. Run to the far left to start, and
as soon as one block falls, jump on top of it. Soon the entire bottom row will
be full of bricks. Make sure you are in the centre of screen at this stage. The
second row will begin with block 3, then block 6 (counting from the left)
falling. Jump onto the sixth block. The second row will fill all except for the
middle two blocks. When there are six blocks on the second row, the third row
will begin to fill, from the right. Wait for two blocks to fall, then jump to
the right, onto the second right block (block 7). Straight away, a block will
fall into the spot you just jumped from. After this lands, stand on this block,
until blocks stop falling. You can then jump off the top of screen on either
side. The final position of blocks will appear as in the following diagram:

X      X
XX    XX
XXX  XXX
XXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXX
12345678

Obviously, the numbers do not appear on screen, but they help understand where
to stand, using my description.

Start by killing the scorpion to your left. You will then see a locked door.
Finding the key is obviously your next task. Just past the locked door, you
will see a row of sarcophaguses against the wall. Mummies will appear from any
of these that are shaking, and will run to another one. You cannot kill mummies
(they're already dead); hitting them will only stun them. Note there are a row
of 4 doors above these coffins, that you cannot reach right now. Continue
towards the left edge of these, and you will see a bat under the left hand
door, and a scorpion at the left hand edge. There are a row of blocks forming
steps to the left. Once you jump over these blocks, you cannot jump back. You
must enter one of the six doors on the lower level. Watch out for bats here -
there are three in this area, and you can't see them until they swoop down. One
is right near the top of the steps that you should be especially careful of.

Where to go? Maybe this map will help a bit. I am not great at drawing maps
though, so it may be a bit hard to figure out. It's not to scale, but should be
sufficient for you to figure out my directions.

 /                  G H I J             \
/            X                           \
/ A B C D E  F X  SSSSSSSSSSSS K       *   \

Key:
Letters A to J = Doors.
K = Locked Door.
X = Blocks forming steps.
SSS = Row of sarcophaguses (coffins).
* = Starting position for this screen.
/ and \ = Walls of pyramid.

Right now, only doors A through F are available to enter. Jump over the blocks
if you haven't done so already. Doors A, C, D and E are treasure rooms. Door B
leads to door I and door F leads to door G. There is a key in both rooms B and
F, and both rooms are both quite difficult to complete. I normally do door B,
which has a lot of arrows being shot at you. Door F has snakes and scorpions.
What about doors H and J? They are also treasure rooms.

Go through Door B. You will need to jump up to the higher platform (possibly
jumping an arrow). You will then see a moving platform moving across a lot of
spikes. This bit can be tricky, you need to jump onto three moving platforms
avoiding arrows from both sides, and also from above in one spot. In between
moving platforms are fixed position ones. My advice - take your time. If there
is any chance of being hit by an arrow, don't jump off the non-moving
platforms. Make it across the spikes to receive a key, and exit through the
door. On the next screen, jump one platform to the right, then down to exit via
the locked door. The boss of the level is in this room, so grab a weapon before
entering if you don't have one.

      >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Boss Fight: A snake! How charming! <<<<<<<<<<<<<<

This is probably the most difficult boss fight in the game. Still very easy,
but it can be tricky if you get unlucky.

I prefer using a hammer. It is by far the fastest and easiest way to kill the
boss, and is the least risky method. Stand towards the left of the room, jump
and swing. Hit the crow four times to beat it. A Frisbee takes eight shots, as
does jumping on the crow (which sometimes seems to kill you instead of damaging
the crow, not sure why this is exactly). You'll need to jump off the snakes'
head if you have no weapon, with a Frisbee, you can throw it upwards to hit the
crow.

There are three attacks to worry about in this fight. The crow blows musical
notes, which bounce once or twice. The snake can attack you in two ways: it
blows a puff of poison smoke (or something similar), and sticks it tongue out.
If you are standing on its head when it does this, you will be hurt.

                _________________________________________________

                 7.6. Stage Six                           (LDLV6)
                _________________________________________________

Location: Antarctica
Terrain: Ice, snow
Objective: Reclaim Dewey's lucky dime
Difficulty: Medium/Hard
Enemies: Snow beasts, sawfish, snowmen, snowballs, Boss (Crow)

Overall, I'd say this level is fairly easy, as it isn't very long, compared to
the last two anyway. The wind on a few screens makes it difficult though.

I'm going to describe the first part briefly, as I find it quite tough to count
the exact amount of enemies. You will be constantly attacked by snow beasts
which can either slide at you, or skid and hit you with icicles. They often
come in packs of two, one on upper platforms, and one at ground level. I
recommend just getting out of this area as quickly as possible, and ignoring
them. Once you come to the gaps in the ice, you will also come across sawfish.
These jump upwards, out of the gaps. Touching the saw part will hurt you, but
if you land on top of it, it can also act as a spring, giving you extra
distance with your jumps. Added to all this, there is a wind (the direction is
shown by the falling ice), which will either blow you forwards or backwards. I
recommend using this well for some of the bigger jumps you need to make.
Proceed a bit to the right, and you will come to a cave. The walkthrough for
this level continues from here. (I may do the first part of this level in a bit
more depth in a later update.)

Note: There are multiple paths through these caves, and I am only describing
one way. You may prefer to take a different path, it's up to you.

The cave begins with you being attacked by a snow beast. Jump on it, and then
jump to the upper platform. Jump to a small platform below a gap in the
ceiling, and then jump through the gap. This will take you to another screen.
Jump to get out of the ice, and then wait for the snowballs to topple towards
you. After they do, quickly jump across to where the snowman is, and kill it.
Kill a snow beast, and then jump up to the platform and through the gap at the
top once more.

You will see some snow beasts walking towards you from an upper entrance. Kill
them and continue up the path past where they are coming out. You are going to
have to make your way up past a few more lots of snow beasts (they come from
one cave and go to the next one lower down). At the top, exit to the right, and
you will be back outside.

Kill the first snow beast sliding around near the start, then up on a platform
is one that kicks ice at you. There are another four snow beasts, all are
pretty easy to kill or avoid, then you will see a hole in the ground. Go down
this.

Simply run to the right in this area, and fall down to another screen. You will
see snow beasts running in the same direction - get a weapon from these if you
don't have one as you are nearly up to the boss. On the next screen, wait for
the snowballs to fall over, then kill the snowman and go right. In the next
area, kill the lone snow beast and walk right. Time to fight another crow...

  >>>>>>>>>>> Boss Fight: *Insert witty boss description here* <<<<<<<<<<<

Use a hammer if possible. As with all boss fights, the hammer takes roughly
half the hits to defeat the boss than jumping or the Frisbee: in this case five
hits (I don't have the figures right now for the Frisbee or plain jumping).

Jump and hit the crow once, then move to the middle. Wait for the invincibility
to wear off (around 3 seconds), then hit it again. If you stay in the middle of
screen, you SHOULD have time to avoid it when it dives at you. If it pushes
some ice at you, destroy it ASAP, as it is just an extra thing to worry about.

The crow has three attacks. It can make an ice cube which it pushes along the
ground (it'll slide from side to side until you destroy it). It can also swoop
at you, and it can skate along the ground. The boss is relatively easy, as it
has no really damaging attacks, but I've had problems with it a few times.

Sorry this stage walkthrough is so poor in contrast to the rest. I had to write
it mostly from memory, due to a power failure. I'll update it in a later
version.

Finally, you know where Scrooge's dime is! One level to go!

                _________________________________________________

                 7.7. Stage Seven                         (LDLV7)
                _________________________________________________

Location: Northern Italy
Terrain: Castle
Objective: Reclaim Scrooge's lucky dime
Difficulty: Quite Hard
Enemies: Skeletons, bones, forks, ghosts, paintings, spikes, green ghosts,
knights, candles, Boss (Magica)

It's hard to tell exactly where this level is in the world, as the map is not
great. Not that it really matters of course.

Start by crossing the bridge to the castle door. The hats belong to skeletons
which pop up and throw bones at you after you have passed by. Bones can be
destroyed, skeletons cannot. Go quickly inside.

You will be attacked by flying forks (weird enemy, I know. They can be
destroyed) and skeletons as you make your way right. The way out of this room
is through the ceiling by the wall to the right.

The next room requires a lot of high jumps. Donald can only just reach the
platforms at the peak of his jumps in most cases. It's easy to fall down a few
levels, so kill all the ghosts as you go to lessen your chances of being hurt.
The exit I use is part way up the right hand wall.

Run and jump the spike trap, but stop before the painting. Jump on the bone the
skeleton throws and wait for the painting to go back up before continuing. Jump
another spike trap, go past some more skeletons and paintings to a green
platform at the end. Use this to reach the gap in the ceiling.

This room can be difficult. Use the moving green platforms, and the brick
platforms to reach the top of the screen. There are also two stationary green
platforms you need to use to reach there; one on the lower right and one in the
upper left. It is this second one you need to reach to exit the screen. Watch
out for ghosts and spikes here, they seem to get in the way quite often.

Walk right killing any ghosts as they swoop down at you. There's a skeleton as
well, but nothing major. Get to the pipe at the far right and press down. On
this next screen use the green platforms to work your way down. You will need
to hold down (duck) on the fourth platform to get past two lots of spikes. Past
this platform, you need to make your way across two platforms to the left, and
onto one which falls when you stand on it. Work your way right to where there
are four platforms on top of each other, jump upwards as the first three move
to the right, and when the fourth moves left, fall down the hole to leave the
screen. It sounds a little bit difficult, but it isn't that tough with a bit of
practice.

Notice the mirrors on this screen. Where you see these, you know there will be
green ghosts. They aren't all that hard to kill actually, but you don't need to
here. Run right to where the first gap is in the platform above, jump to the
upper platform, continue running right and fall down, then down the hole to
leave the screen. You can fight if you want, but I don't see the point. On the
next screen, make your way down the platform killing ghosts and avoiding
spikes. You'll probably need to duck underneath the last lot of orange spikes.
The exit is in the bottom left.

The enemies in the next room can be quite annoying. They are statues of
knights, and these have spikes in each hand which raise and fall. Proceed
carefully, moving bit by bit, and as soon as the path ahead is safe. Go down
and right at the first opportunity. You will need to pass three knights this
way. Fall down the gap after passing the third one. The next room is a quick
run to the left, followed by a quick run to the right. There are four green
ghosts on this screen; again, I don't bother with them. Fall down the gap on
the bottom right.

You'll see another new enemy here - candles. These drop the flame part onto the
ground, and can't be destroyed. Work your way right, avoiding the knights
spears and candle flames. The exit you are heading for is a gap in the right
hand wall, NOT the one in the floor.

This room is the last one before the final boss; you'll know when the boss will
show up by the change in wall colour. You may want a weapon by then! Really
though it's not necessary. Stay to the top on this screen, avoiding flames,
paintings and green ghosts. Stand on the right edge of the pink tablecloth when
you get to the brown brick background to face Magica Despell!

 >>>>>>>>>>> Boss Fight: *Hardest boss fight EVAR!!!1!! (not)* <<<<<<<<<<<

Seriously, I expected a bit more than this the first time I got this far. If
you try to hit Magica, nothing happens. Try to hit the column she's standing on
- Nada. You're thinking by now it's just not possible right, and you've gotta
last through streams of lightning bolts and bomb blasts to have a chance aren't
you? Bzzzzzzzzt, wrong answer! It's MUCH simpler than that even. See the orb on
the table in the middle? Jump on it or hit it with a Frisbee eight times, or
hit it with a hammer four times. If you do this, it will break, Scrooge's lucky
dime will fall out and you've won the fight. I'd have to say this is one of the
easiest end game bosses in the history of gaming.

Magica's attacks, as I mentioned are to alternate between shooting a heap of
lightning bolts at you and throwing some bombs at you. You may get hit once
before destroying the orb if you are unlucky.

That's about it. Donald has saved the day, and gets his reward from Scrooge. I
hope you enjoyed the game!

As this is the initial release, obviously, I haven't been asked any questions
yet. If you need more help, send me an email, and I'll happily respond!

Q: What is Donald's reward?
A: Finish the game and you'll find out. Your guess is probably correct anyway.

Q: Better weapon: Hammer or Frisbee?
A: It depends on personal preference and the level you are playing. I've
finished the game with both, and prefer the hammer in most cases, the exception
being the stage four boss.

Q: Why are your stage six and seven walkthroughs so short?
A: I figure by this stage you don't need me to describe exactly where each
enemy will appear, and exactly how many there are. There are numerous ways to
get through both these levels as well - if I described them all, this guide
would be massive. I also had a power failure and lost around an hours worth of
material on these two levels, so I ended up rewriting most of the walkthroughs
for these from memory. They should be sufficient anyway.

Q: Why doesn't Donald Duck wear any pants?
A: Um, yeah, none of these sorts of questions please...

I'll admit, I write a lot of guides for "easy" or "kiddy" games, but this is
still one of my favourite games of all time. I'm not ashamed to admit that
either. The fact it is reasonably simple appeals to me, as I don't generally
have seventeen hours a day to play games. When I saw there was no FAQ written
for the game, I decided to find a copy of the game and play through it again,
so I could write one. I'm glad I did as well; it's quite a fun game.

myself.
