2. Lady Deathstrike
______________________________________________________________
______
Real Name: Yuriko Oyama
Alias: Lady Deathstrike; Yuriko Darkwind
Place Of Birth: Japan
Birthdate: Unknown
Species: Human/Cyborg/Mutant (Homo Superior)
Age: Unknown
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Black
Weight: 150 lbs.
Height: 5'10
Powers: Cybernetic enhancements and adamantium-laced claws along with extreme
fighting skills.
Weaknesses: Unknown
History: The daughter of the crime lord said to have invented the adamantium-
bone bonding process, Deathstrike has for years been trying to kill Wolverine,
the only person known to have survived the process. Part of the reason for her
vendetta was the need to recover the lost process from whoever stole it (poss-
ibly the villain Bullseye) and also to take the adamantium itself, as she bel-
ieved it should have been bonded to her. To accomplish her mission, Yuriko
allowed Spiral and her Body Shoppe to transform her into a cyborg. She
possesses bionic limbs and senses, telescoping arms, and lethal claws, among
other enhancements. However, since Logan lost his metal bones, her life's
mission has been upset, to say the least.
When she first left Japan (before her transformation) she used a katana, with
which she was quite skilled. For much of her career afterwards she has
operated with Pierce's Reavers, but she also works alone. Recently,
Deathstrike was attacked and severely wounded by Sentinels. She fled to the
X-Men, who agreed to help her, if not trust her. They ended up being captured
by Stryfe, who revealed that Deathstrike's maker was the same as the designer
of the Prime Sentinels. Stryfe needed the command codes in Deathstrike's
system in order to fully activate the Primes. The X-Men managed to defeat
Stryfe, however, and Deathstrike seemed to have learned something about how
to release her vengeance during the encounter. This event raised certain
questions about Deathstrike, who was said to have an adamantium skeleton and
to have been built by a human, not by Spiral. The truth about these
revelations in unknown. Although she didn't try to kill Wolverine even once
during this encounter, Deathstrike soon returned to her murderous ways,
accepting employment from Sabretooth and hunting down Wolverine's closest
friends and family. In particular, she was responsible for the apparent
crippling of Yukio and the abduction of Amiko, Logan's foster daughter.
Tidbits: Lady Deathstrike is the best in the juggler in the game next to Betsy
and Nightcrawler. She has several attacks which either bounce the opponent or
knock them up into the air. She is capable of pulling off long juggles near
the ground. Her best juggle-moves are the Deadly Flip (qcb+lk),
Piston Kick (ff+hk), Reaver Strike (qcb+hk), Ravaged (lp+hp), and Reaver
Rage (lk+hk). When these are used in succession Deathstrike is able to juggle
the opponent just above the ground for 99% damage. Adding the one of her
transition moves, Skewered 1 (qcb+lp), Ravaged (lp+hp), and Violent
Extremeties (f+lp+hp) at the end of a juggle sends the opponent crashing
through walls and near-lying objects. However, her most appealing quality is
that she is also capable of connecting her level one and level four supers,
Ravaged (lp+hp) and Lotus Blossum (b+lp+hp), to grounded opponents. So tag
on the level one after every juggle, knockdown, and b+throw as quickly as you
build it up. If you have the level four, go for the quick kill.

4. STRATEGY
________________________________________________________________________
Against the "Projectiles Group"(Cyclops, Havok, Bastion, Lady
Deathstrike, Bishop):
Use sidestep and Telescoping lash, Reaver Strike, Skewered 1, Skewered 2
to engage the opponent from afar. Stay in close and keep them bouncing
or up in the air!
Against the "Super Armor Group"(Juggernaut, Sentinel A, Blob):
These guys are slow and tend to counter much more than any of the other
characters. Attempt stuns with quick one hit to mininmize the
possibility of being countered. Avoid hitting them in the back (unless
they are performing an attack) as this will result in a counter about 85%
of the time.
Against the "Physical Offense Group"(Rogue, Beast, Wolverine, Lady
Deathstrike,Sabertooth, Storm):
Allow these characters to charge at you. Block their offense and counter
them [i.e. block then f+lp(stun)...]. They are pretty repetitive and
predictable.
Against the "Cheap Tactics Group"(Phoenix, Deathstrike, Dark Phoenix,
Magneto, Pyro, Mystique):
This group attacks you when you perform a certain type of move or action.
Be mindful of these "automated responses" and avoid use of actions (or lack
of action) that triggers them (eg Magneto's slamming a opponent that use
3D walk or get close). Other than this you can fight them straight up.
Against the "Defensive, Stand-of Group"(Sentinel Beta, Gambit, Betsy,
Psylocke, Nightcrawler):
This group counters almost as much as the Super Armor. However, since they
don't have the armor you aren't countered as often. Characters in this group
are able to initiate attacks from a long distance. Some possess projectile
and some are able to get close very quickly. As against the Super armor
group, use on hit stuns to start combos. Avoid delivering several hits when
being blocked.
