Sometime during your treasure hunting, you may come across
RED maps. These aren't treasure maps, but they're nevertheless
very useful because they specify the locations of certain
things you may be looking for (heart pieces, fairies, etc).
Unfortunately, unlike the treasure maps, these maps don't
automatically keep track of what you've gotten and what you
haven't, so remember to keep track of that yourself.
Here's the RED map of all the Giant Fairies. The fairies give
you upgrades of all kinds - this is familiar to Zelda fans. (The
difference is that these fairies are the scariest Zelda-fairies
I've ever seen - and I thought the ones in Majora's Mask were
freaky).
Fairy 2 : Great Fairy
=====================
Location: Oyako Islands
Upgrade: Ice/Fire Arrows
Items Needed: Baton of the Wind, Song of Warping
The only way to get into the Fairy Fountain is by warping.
After you get the bow and arrows in the Tower of God,
find the Tornado with the God of Wind inside and shoot
him 3 times. You can only get the arrow upgrade AFTER you
get the Master Sword.
Fairy 3
=======
Location: Western Fairy Island
Upgrade: Arrows
Items Needed: Hammer
Fairy 7
=======
Location: Pororo Island
Upgrade: Rupees
Items Needed: Baton of the Wind, Deku Leaf, Bombs
The Fairy Fountain is under a large rock in the forest
where you rescued Tetra. When you come back later the
bridge will be gone, so change the wind to a westerly,
climb up on the ledge behind the bridge and float over
with the Deku Leaf.
Fairy 8
=======
Location: Dice of 2 Islands
Upgrade: Double Magic Meter
Items Needed: Boomerang
The Fairy is trapped under(?) a 4-eyed giant squid. The
squid is near the island; find a flock of seagulls with the
telescope for it's location (raid the enemy lookout post
if necessary). Smack it's eyes out with the boomerang.
