Yeah. Hello!! I'm David Harrison AKA McShoxi AKA Davy_boy2000. I'm 17 and I
go
to East Berkshire College, studying a BTEC National Diploma for IT
Practitioners. I have already written a full FAQ for Rainbow Six [PSX] and
an
in-depth FAQ for Grudge Warriors [PSX]. I like surfing the net as well as
playing computer games on PS2 PSX Gameboy, GBA, N64, Sega Mega Drive, Super
Nintendo and PC. (yeah! I still play em!)

If you would like to request a FAQ walkthrough or FAQs for a specific part
of a
game on the above systems, drop me an email and I'll see what I can do.

======================
-- 6. Introduction --
======================
There is already an in-depth FAQ regarding the weapons so I shall leave that
part out and give a helpful, concise and friendly walkthrough in 3 different
forms; weapons used, boss guide and a thorough FAQ.

I would like to author game guides for an established company such as Piggy
Back Interactive or Prima Games. I would also like to be a games tester for
-any- system, so if anybody can help me here, please contact me =)

If anybody needs advice, help and tips on making a game FAQ, please also
contact me with the above contact details.

==========================
-- 7. Mission Statement --
==========================
I have seen -way- too many brief, misleading and quite frankly, PANTS FAQs
on
the net that have a walkthrough, but are way too brief too be able to follow
without getting completely lost on the way. I will try my hardest to help
make
things easy to follow and foolproof. My mission statement is to produce
NO-BS
FAQs.

-- 8. Cheats --
===============
I strongly recommend you complete the game at least on easy and medium
difficulties (twice) because cheats spoil the fun in a game and make it much
too easy for the player. It also tends to give people a lessened sense of
accomplishment.

-- 9. Boss Guide --
===================
:: Quill ::
Weapon: Precision Rifle
Place: Dancing with the dead - Cathedral
Recommending weapon/s: N.I.C.W, Nano tech grenade launcher and sniper rifle

The first boss you fight is the sniper of the defunct group. She is
positioned
on a high ledge in front of a -huge- stained glass window that hinders your
vision. There are both snipers and processed in this room. Snipers fromt the
upper ledges and processed from the room perimeter.

She is a bit timid with her fully automatic precision rifle, so you can jump
out of hiding and get a good couple of hits in before your health needs
replenishing again. When you jump out from the starting place, look for a
slightly darker patch of the stained glass window and shoot at it.

Use the N.I.C.W and sniper rifle against the lesser units then use the Nano
tech grenade launcher and the grenade launcher of the N.I.C.W at Quill. If,
by
any chance, you have no ammo left before she dies - use the bullets of the
N.I.C.W at closer range.

:: Repta (1st encounter) ::
Weapon: Anti-personnel
Place: Inside the Nano base - Repta reunion
Recommended weapon/s: W.A.S.P

This one is pretty easy. You are fighting in a room full of walkways
surrounding some heavy machinery. For some reason, the machinery is
malfunctioning, and electrical bolts flow across the room randomly. Pursue
Repta by finding your way up whilst continuously firing the W.A.S.P at his
feet/head/around him. Explosive ballistics not only hurt on impact, it also
hurts the surroundings. Keep this in mind when fighting Repta and shoot not
only -at- him, but also around him. This is sometimes easier as Repta runs
about a quite a bit.

Once 2 3rds of his energy is depleted, Repta stumbles over the walkway, to
be
reprocessed to extreme levels.

:: Repta (2nd encounter) ::
Weapon: ARMORED SUIT
Place: Reprocessed
Recommended weapon/s: N/A

This one can be annoying if you don't know where to stand. As soon as you go
in, turn to your left then stay in that corner (not the immediate left
corner,
the one other one). This way, the Elite processed would stay behind the
pillar
in the middle and not bother to throw any of those pesky stun grenades:

____________
|       x    |    Key:
|     _      |    x : Elite processed
|    |_|     <    0 : You
|            |    < : Entry
|____0_______|

This way, every time Repta runs out to start shooting, you can immediately
unload both grenades and set both miniguns blazing. As soon as you do this,
he
will run back behind the column. This way, he fires next to nothing at you
while you keep singeing his Sonic hair-do. His health should go down to 1/3
until he gets cheesed off then floats through a nearby tunnel for your 3rd
encounter.

:: Repta (3rd encounter) ::
Weapon: Heavy machine gun and W.A.S.P
Place: Reprocessed
Recommended weapon/s: W.A.S.P or Anti-personnel weapon

This one should be alot easier then the last 2 as his health is only at 1/3.
The level now is very wide-open so you're going to have to practice your
accuracy again. Best times to fire at him is when he's on your side of the
level. However, if you are confident in your ballistics accuracy, you can
aim
for him as he trambles along the pipes over your head and in the distance.

A good tip is to use the nearby crates to hide behind when he is on your
side
- he only fires at you if you're not moving or if he's on your side of the
level. Use the W.A.S.P when he's at distance and use the Anti-personnel when
he is on your side.

:: Molov ::
Weapon/s: Armored suit / rail driver
Place: The final battle
Recommended weapon/s: Anti-personnel weapon, W.A.S.P and Nano grenade
launcher

This one is the ending boss of the entire game. It is slightly easier then
Repta in my opinion because you can just strafe behind the steel workings in
the center of the level and take pot shots at him whilst he yells insane
ramblings. You would probably have noticed that Shrike has come to his
senses,
and is also giving Molov his 2 cents.

Just keep moving and stay out of the way whenever you aren't firing your
W.A.S.P (locked on for added accuracy)

When Molov comes out of his armored suit, DON'T STOP MOVING because he is
using a rail driver (one hit kill). Just keep firing at him with the
anti-personnel or Nano grenade launcher and he should topple like the bag of
sh*t that he is.

-- 10.FAQ Walkthrough --
========================
"I'm stuck!"

1. Foreign Lands
Complex exterior - Chancellor Sopot orders a special ops mission

Q: I'm running around and I can shoot soldiers through some small gaps but I
don't know how to get in.
A: Press [left] or [right] to switch to a satchel charge. These babies are
red
and come in a circular shape. You throw them and they stick until the fuse
ignites the explosives. Throw one of these onto a man made wall. Throwing
these onto rock at this stage won't do anything at all. Now, either walk in
or
crawl[L3]/jump[R2].

Q: I've made a hole in the exterior wall but I still can't get in.
A: The hole probably isn't big enough to get through. The wall has a solid
steel rim at the bottom so that would probably mean the hole isn't high
enough
to jump through. Throw another satchel charge but at a section of wall above
the hole you previously made.

Q: I've used all my satchel charges and I cannot get through.
A: Then use the alternate fire of your N.I.C.W (not the handgun. See weapons
section). Simply aim, fire[L1]

Q: I don't have a clue how to 'Disable the guard towers (3)'.
A: There are 3 towers in the courtyard and they can be destroyed with an
explosive implement to thier base. (At this point, that can be a frag
grenade,
satchel charge or the alternate fire of your N.I.C.W.)

Containment facility - The key to nano-technology is inside the central core

Q: I've killed all the grunts in the room with the buggies, but I don't know
where to go now.
A: Go up the stairs then shoot one of the ventilation shaft covers.
Crawl[L3]
in.

Q: I'm stuck in a room with 2 holes, which I just shot 2 grunt through.
A: Shoot a ventilation shaft cover on the floor and jump in.

Q: I'm in a huge room with a large pillar going straight through the center.
One of my objectives is to 'Destroy the coolant units on the storage
module (2)'. Where?
A: You said it in your explanation of your position. Shoot the 2 light blue
things on either side of the pillar. They have a red light on both sides of
them and steam all over the place.

Q: Where's the Nano-cell I'm supposed to recover?
A: When you first came in, there was a automatic gun turret on the other
side
of the room which I'm guessing you blew up. You must also destroy some of
the
wall there to be able to get up there so that you can use the elevator to go
up to a control room. Once in this room, go througyh the side onto a catwalk
that goes towards the central pillar. This is where the Nano-cell is.

Lobby level - Security forces defend their turf against the squad

Q: I'm in a room with 3 elevators but they don't work.
A: Yes! One of them does. It's the on to the left of the entrance door.
Don't
forget to press the 'UP' button by pressing Use[X].

Q: I managed to operate one elevator, but none of the doors on this level
open.
A: Use the other elevator =P

Q: I managed to operate the second elevator but...
A: USE THE OTHER ELEVATOR! >_<

Q: There's a gun ship outside and it keeps killing me.
A: Blow it up then! Use any weapon for this except hang held grenades or the
Semi-auto pistols.

Admin area - Bureaucracy gets blasted as the squad pursues Sopot

Q: "We can't rush that, you deal with it". This is what Tangier said to me
when in the office with a -big- gun trying to perforate my bladder...
A: zigzag between each cubicle until you get close enough to bounce a
grenade
off the back wall to land next to/behind the gun. If in trouble, the
partitions
can be blown up to make way for you and your frag grenade.

Alone in the dark - Alias is trapped in the city's labyrinthine sewer system

Q: I'm wallowing around in sewage water with no idea where to go.
A: Go some where where there's loads of griddles spouting out water and a
large column in the middle with sewage water all around and under. Find your
way to the catwalk that goes up to the side of this column and turn/use[X]
the
valve release on the side to raise the water level. Now new areas can be
explored. The way you want to go is a newly accessible tunnel. Swim through
it. (it's SLIGHTLY sticking up out of the water somewhere).

The train! The train! - In narrow tunnels, death can come swiftly

Q: I'm in the sub way tunnel and I can't get to the next safe place because
the train runs me over before I get there.
A: When you exit the last safe place (second mini-platform), you should be
able to see a piece of wall with some pieces of white crumbled on the floor
in
front of it (these closely resemble soggy pieces of paper, but you have a
chance to see them on the floor by the other safe places in the walls).
Place
a satchel charge on the wall here and quickly run in to safety.

Q: I'm at the abandoned station and I've just been ambushed heavily by
spider
bombs but I'm now stuck!
A: Find a small hole in the wall that the [spiders] were jumping out of
earlier
and make it bigger so you can go through.

The bridge - Quill and Alias cutoff Sopot's forces

Q: Whenever I try blow the damn thing up, I can't get back to Quill in time.
A: From where you start next to Quill, instead of planting the struts
closest
to you, start with the ones at the far end and work your way towards Quill.
This way there shouldn't be too much distance to cover when getting back to
her.

Q: I can't find the place to set the explosives on the struts.
A: Plant a satchel charge right in front of the ladder then run round to the
other side to avoid getting damaged. The place for explosives will -always-
face the ladder.

Q: Trains keep squishing me!
A: Watch the tunnels at -BOTH- ends and then run into a space between the 2
tracks when a train is headed for you.

Main gate - The Chancellor is protected by extreme firepower

Q: That damned armored suit keeps mauling me!
A: Bite him back, then! I highly recommend the NGL-8 Nano tech grenade
launcher
(big orange gun) and just keep straffing behind the wall really quickly to
avoid gun fire.

Q: I've re-united with the rest of my team but I can't get past the truck in
the tunnel.
A: That's because you're not supposed to. That's the way your team got in,
not
the way you want to go out. Just turn around (180 degrees) and go that way
instead.

Battle armor - Battle armor beefs up Alias' destructive power

Q: I'm stuck. No door ways or anything.
A: Make one =) Attach a satchel charge to the fuel barrels next to the wall.
BOOM! Next room...

Missile Silo - Alias confront the evil Dictator

Q: I'm trapped in a room that was locked down upon my entry. Gas pours from
the
ceiling and all exits have been blocked.
A: Place explosive[X] on door lock. Jus' like that.

Mean streets - Sopot City is a dangerous place for a man alone

Q: I just watched the cut scene where Tangier puts a gun to my boss' head in
a
room full of dead Red Faction members. What's going on? I'm _so_ lost!
A: Never fear! Davy's here! (lol) I'll explain the story in it's entirety in
this FAQ, but not in this section.

Q: I'm in the streets and none of the doors can be opened
A: Try blowing up that wall with the tiny hole in it =P

Death from above - Death lurks in every window and it's aiming for Alias

Q: I can't find my way to the 'underground passage' like it states in my
objectives.
A: Lay a few explosives down on the floor of the ruined building to find
your
way down to the last floor. There should already be a hole here so drop down
then blow the planks up on the floor.

High rent district - When Alias is done, property will never be the same

Q: I can't get over that wall!
A: Jump on the smaller crate, then the bin then over the wall.

Cemetery - Quill is determined to write Alias' eulogy in blood

Q: I'm trapped! Don't know where to go. Go to the opposite side of where
Quill
is (the side you start on then work your way right. You must go through a
double door in the corner somewhere:

|---Q-------|  Key
|           |  ---
|    |-|    |  S - start point
|    | |  x |  Q - Quill
|-S--|-|----|  x - where to go

If you are still lost, copy and paste the following link into a web browser
http://www.geocities.com/davy_boy2000uk/faq/cemetery_demo.htm

Catacombs - Alias battles to avoid death among the corpses

Q: I just killed about 6/7 enemies but now I'm stuck in a room with 4 walls
and lots of furniture.
A: Somewhere on the ground in a corner, is a hole with planks over it. Lay
down
an explosive here to drop down.

The right way in - Tangier points the way as Alias lays on the firepower

Q: Tangier opened the sub bay but I can't find it.
A: Head towards where you see beams of light in the distance then go down
and
find the bays. There should be 2. The first one you are likely to come
across,
is the wrong one. Go along a little bit to the next one. Go under it then
ascend[R2].

No place like home - Alias attends the family reunion from hell

Q: I can't get out of my armored suit to blow the last generator up.
A: Use your suit's grenades, then! =P

Industrial processing - Beneath Sopot's feet, a world of hurt awaits for
Alias.

Q: I ahve just left the battle from Repta and I see an Armoured Suit in a
force field and no way out.
A: There must be a glitch here where the switch to remove the force field
does not have the usual pale arrows surrounding it. Press Action [x] at
the terminal in front of the suit then you're away!

Dive! Dive! Dive! - Alias fights against all odds to avoid a watery death

Q: I'm at the minefield and I can't find the tunnel in safety.
A: Launch a few torpedoes at the large rock in front of you, near the base.
This should blast a hole through to a tunnel. Do the same at the other end.

Nano elite - Molov makes some deadly improvements on an old model

Q: I just killed a few of those glowing red guys (Nano elite). I can't find
my
way again.
A: Just blow a gap for yourself into the lab windows nearby.

Reprocessed - Sometimes bad things happen to bad people

Q: I've killed Repta for good, but now I can't get onto the fallen pillar to
use as a walkway.
A: Go up the steps and go round to the side of the pillar then jump over the
railing and onto the pillar.

Save Red Faction members from the processed. (Kill all processed before they
kill 1 of 2 Red Faction members nearby)
Destroy all enemy gunships (there are 4)

-Road to the citadel
Assist Red Faction forces (near the tank, kill all enemies before they kill
any of the 3 Red Faction members nearby)

-- 13.Story Development --
==========================
I'll admit it! The amount of times that I've played this game, the story is
so
badly written that even I, myself, get confused at times! I have paid close
attention lately and I will try and sum it up for you in simple English.

**SPOILERS!!**

Working for Sopot as an elite guard, your mission is to infiltrate the Nano
cell containment facility and steal the Nano cell. The group as we know it
all
go through the process of becoming Nano enhanced, but soon the world's
leader
- Sopot, fears what he has created and declares them enemies of the state
and
to be hunting and killed.

I mean...wouldn't you be scared if you bred a huge amount of enhanced
soldiers
with staggering IQ levels? I would certainly leave behind brown underpants
for
sure!

A small group of these soldiers have managed to survive and have formed an
alliance with the Red Faction in a bid to kill the Chancellor and destroy
the
technology that created them and the processed (processed civilians - gone
wrong).

The elite team infiltrate the Sopot Public Communication Building whilst
Sopot
is relaying a propaganda message and Alias himself manages to lock Sopot in
a
missile chamber (after a long chase) and he launches the missile, cooking
the
Chancellor to a frazzle.

All would be well at this point, but Molov's enhanced sense of
responsibility
and leadership over come him, as he, Quill and Repta slaughter the Red
Faction
members at RF HQ (Shrike is just the vehicle guy, he doesn't kill). It seems
as
if Sopot's armed forced give in and pass thier loyalty to Molov as he
becomes
the new Chancellor. This, of course, goes against what the Red Faction are
standing for. The Red Faction want a democratic rule on thier world instead
of a Communistic rule, and so Molov changing sides would be very confusing,
but
his enormous drive for power (thanks to the Nano processing) forces him to
take
chair as the new Chancellor.

Alias walks in HQ and after Molov's speech, he becomes very confused as
Molov
states that he will be hunted down and killed as enemy of the state. Tangier
has perfect timing as she appears behind Molov with a rifle to his dome
- ordering the elite team to disarm and pointing Alias to a covered escape
route behind the Red Faction banner.

Before long, You must face the rest of the Elite team - Quill, Repta and
Molov
before they unleash a new army of reformed processed on the world. You
eventually kill Quill and Repta and you start to persue Molov.

Molov at this stage is starting to loose his marbles. I would be if I was
right
at the top of a huge statue that is about to come crashing down whilst 2 of
the
most formidable individuals are coming at you, after killing your 2 loyal
allies. He really starts to tilt when even his escape route - Shrike turns
on
him.

Tangier drops a frag grenade and jumps over the side of the balcony as Molov
puts a Rail driver to her head, sweetly bidding Alias good bye as she hurls
herself over.

When you finally kill Molov, you get to see Shrike the psychotic speed freak
pilot his gunship through the statue's arm socket and out of the neck as the
entire thing is falling down. And smiling whilst doing it!

[The ending cut scene is determined on your finishing heroic level. There
are
4 possibilities:]
