1.Introduction
================
Hey , this is StarKnightX back for yet another demo disk escapade.
This time the Nintendo Gamecube Preview Disk.

1.1 What is the Nintendo Preview Disk?
---------------------------------------
The first in a series of demo disks released for the Nintendo Gamecube.
It contains seven playable demos ; five Gamecube games , and two
downloadable gameboy advance games. As well as 9 videos of up-incoming games.

1.2 Where can I get One?
-------------------------
This may be a bit tricky now. When they first came out they were fairly
easy to find but know are quite difficult to find except in Best Buy stores.
Part of the problem was how they were released. They were meant to be a
special pack-in for new Gamecubes at the time but many stores decided to sell
them individuely since they didn't help Gamecube sales any (despite Nintendo
stating that the disks were "Not for Resale"). Unfortunatly some stores took
advantage of this and marked this price up from the preset $10 up to $40.
Best Buy is the only place at this point that I've seen it and it was for $40.
I got mine from Toys 'R' Us for $10.

1.3 Version History

ver. 1.2  February 3, 2004   - Well here we are , another guide that sits
unfinished on my HD for too long.
ver. 1    November 21, 2003  - First Ver. ; Basic Info ; never released

2.Gamcube Games
==================

2.1 Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg
-----------------------------------
Controls : Control Stick - Move Character
          Start         - Pause
          C-Stick       - Move Camera
L             - Center Camera / Lock on Enemy
          R             - Egg Echo
          A             - Jump
          B             - Toss / Drop Egg
          X             - Sidekick / Animal Attack

Billy Hatcher is the next big game from Sonic Team. It's more in the
league of what mario would look like if made by them. So lets get on the
ball and start playing.
You can also play level two in the game if you feel like it. To do so ,
on the title screen , hold A then press start (you'll kmow you did it
right if it's a sunny day when you start - thanks to the GameFAQs code
section for this).

Mission 1 : Rescue Partiach Uri-Uri
Run foward and start pushing the egg in front of you towards the hill and
start rolling down the path. Grab all the fruit in your way , and make sure
to jump over the pits as you get to them. At the end you'll find some
enemies , run them over with your (now huge) egg. After that you might as
well hatch the egg , using the egg echo. Now with your new partner grab
another egg and run up the beach towards the cage and place the egg on the
glowing pedestal. The cage breaks open releasing the Elder's Egg.

Now roll the elder egg towards the enemies on your right and smosh them to
get there fruit. Then roll the egg the other way , pass the fence and smosh
the enemies there too. Now roll the egg through some warp rings till you get
to a bunch of platforms. Jump the platforms and roll down the ramp and smosh
the next bunch of enemies in your way. By this time the elder egg should be
at max size. If not just roll around there for a while and pick up extra
fruit until it is. After that , roll it up the next ramp and turn left ,
and jump it into the hoop you see. Jump again to bounce you to another
platform. Now go ahead and hatch the elder to end the level.

Mission 2 : Find the Emblem of Courage
This level is pretty much the same as level one just a bit harder.
Again , roll down the hill and smash the enemies at the bottom. At this
point to continue you'll need an animal that has water power , in this
case , the penguin. To get him , find the blue egg with blue spekles on
the right side of the beach and gather fruit for it until you can hatch
it. Then grab another egg , and roll it the way you did as with the elder
egg. When you see the flames , activate the penguin to put the flames out ,
then roll the egg towards the switch and bounce it onto the switch to open
the next door.

Warp over to the next platform and crush all the enemies. Then do the
platform hopping part again , being carfull to watch out for the anchors
that now threaten your life. Roll your egg up the ramp to the left and hop
through the warp ring again , but then you find yourself in another warp
ring. On this one it spins so make sure you aim it towards the platform.
Up on the platform that you hatched the elder , you should see a emblem
of courage just floating back and forth. Grab it to end the level.

2.2 Sonic Adventure DX
----------------------
Control : Control Stick - Move Character
         C-Stick       - Look Around
         L             - Rotate Camera Left
         R             - Rotate Camera Right
         A             - Jump Attack / Special Mid-Air Move
         B             - Special Attack / Pick-up or Put-down items
                         / Throw
         X             - Special Attack / Pick-up or Put-down items
                         / Throw

In this trial version you can choose as any of the six playable characters
right from the start but you can only play one stage from each one of there
respective quests. I'll go through each of the charters on the menu
counter-clockwise starting with Sonic.

 Sonic : Stage Emerald Coast
Nice easy stage. Sonic has always been kinda tough to right
guides for since most of his stages (games) equate to nothing more than run
fast while dodging stuff and this stage is no exception. For those who need
it though or just want to hear what I have to say then here we go :

Mission C : Get to capsule at end of stage with 50 rings
Easy as pie. First run past loser enemies while grabbing rings until you
get to first bridge. Watch out for the monkey , he can suprise you.
Bounce on plungers to next set of bridges and keep moving (you can jump
down to the beach area for some more rings) blast through loop-de loop and
run past next checkpoint.

Keep running up the beach and fly off ramp onto cliff edge past another
checkpoint (why another so soon?)

Run through some boosters and up to the next cliff edge while avoiding
the spike pole. Run past spikes down a hill through another loop-de loop
and land on another bridge. Run across bridge to pass another checkpoint.

Then keep running to avoid falling into the water until you land on a safe
beach and pass another checkpoint.

Run pass spikes , up hill and bounce across some springs onto another hill.
Keep moving over the holes and pass the lighthouse into a cave and though
the next checkpoint.

While running in the next area , head up the cliff after gaining some speed
and run through a hole in the cliff to hit some springs , grab a bunch of
rings , get a 1-up , avoid some annoying stuff and hit the next checkpoint.

Run some more through some boosters , across a ramp , through another
booster and up another cliff , grab some rings , kill the monkey , grab
some more rings , and hit the next checkpoint.

Hit some boosters , then use the jump pads to get to the next area
(don't jump when you get to pad 3 for some extra rings) , pass the
spikes , dodge the monkey , hit some more boosters and things. Then run
down the last beach and hit the capsule.

Tails : Ice Cap (Originally Stage 3 from SA)
This is a little different , snowboarding. Can't really walk you
through this one but I can give you tips.

Mission C : Get the emerald before Sonic
- Don't bother steering in the first part , just , hold the control stick
down to go faster and you'll be fine.
- Grab the rings. Not sure what they do but doesn't hurt to have them.
Just don't go out of your way to get them.
- Always hold foward to go faster.
- Watch out for the robo-guards about halfway through the stage.
- Jump off ever ramp you see for a speed boost.

Knuckles : Red Mountain (Originally Stage 3 from SA)
This time your treasure hunting for emeralds. Again I can't
really walk you through but I can give tips.

Mission C : Get the 3 pieces of the Master Emerald
- Always pay attention to your radar. It's a lifesaver.
- To dig you'll have to hold b then press a. The game didn't explain this
 part very well.
- Don't forget Knuckles can punch.
- Emerald pieces can be found in the ground and in enemies. Look
 Carefully and follow the radar.

Amy : Final Egg (Originally Stage 3 from SA)
Amy's game is harder than I remember it. The main thing you have
to remember is to avoid zero at all costs. Confront him only if neccessary.

Mission C : Evade Zero and Grab the Balloon
Run down the halway , avoiding the enemies and jupming the laser turrents
in your way. Jump on the springs to bounce you to the next area , watch
out for the robots here , there lasers can hold you in place allowing zero
to catch you. Break the laser cannons down the hall to give yourself a
path , and get the extra under the grabber claw.

Run down the next hallway , watching out for zero as he busts throught the
wall , blow up the laser cannon in your way , and keep running till you
get to the next checkpoint and the elevator. Press the button and hold off
zero until the elevator shows up and ride it to the next floor.

Leave the elevator and head the the corridor as zero begins to chase you
again. Grad some rings , and start jumping some platforms , making sure to
get the 1-up near the top as you run down another corridor , pass through
another checkpoint into a room with a bunch of doors. Take the middle left
to find the next checkpoint and keep going.

Final part. Your now in a large room with zero on your back. Get into a
sprint and do a spring jump up to the next ledge. Blow up the enemy in
doorway , run into the room and jump onto the baloon to end the level.

Big : Emerald Coast (Originally Stage 3 from SA)
Big's game is the weirdest one of the bunch. You have to fish for
your pet frog (froggie).

Mission C : Fish for and catch froggie
Run forward and kill the monkey that trys to throw a bomb your way and grab
the ring container. Turn around and head to your right down the beach. Grab
more rings and kill more monkeys , when you see a green path to your left ,
head up it to get a 1-up then head straight forward down the beach to its end.

From the end of the beach , turn right and walk towards the large column.
Near the column somewhere should be frogie. Just cast your rod and reel him
in. Remember that when froggie bits the lure , make sure to hold "down" and
start to reel or he'll let the lure go. After that just make sure to not let
the tension get too high and you should bag him easy.

E-102 Gamma : Windy Valley (Originally Stage 3 from SA)
E-102's game is more of a shooter than a regular sonic
game. Still not as strange as Big's game though.

  Mission C : Destroy E-103
Run forward and blow up anything that moves. Watch out for the bridge ahead ,
most of the time you'll end up blowing it up so don't fall down. Jump across
and run down the path blowing more up and cross another bridge. You'll see
a bunch of things that say to shoot it , so do so and jump down the tunnel
that appears and pass the checkpoint.

Run down the path till you see more targets that say "shoot" so blow them up
and proceed. Run down another path , cross a bridge and blow up more targets.
Cross through a tunnel and pass the next checkpoint.

Jump across the next path , shot the flying centipede , jump another
casism , then jump up some more ledges , and bounce on a plunger across to
where the boss awaits :

  Boss : E-103 Delta
This guy is a simpleton. Just keep locking onto him and any missiles he
shoots at you with your gun and blast him. If you do get hit , there are
some rings in the area to grab. 5 hits and he's out.

2.3 Soul Calibur 2
------------------
Controls : Control Stick - Move Character
          D-Pad         - Move Character
          Start         - Pause
C-Stick       - Special Moves / Charge Up (Tap Up)
          L             - Block
          R             - Block
          Z             - Charge Up
          A             - Horizontal Weapon Attack
          B             - Block
          Y             - Vertical Weapon Attack
          X             - Kick

You only get to play as two chacters here , Cassandra and my main man
Nightmare. Theres also only one play mode , aracde , which you'll fight
4 opponents then the game will end.

The game won't let you look at the command list for the characters
so unless there is a demand for it or I decide to fill it in later ,
I'm not gonna bother finding a move list for the two of them and put it here.
If you really need a move list , then just go look up the full Soul Calibur 2
game and check it out there. If someone would like to assist me with a move list
though then by all means e-mail me and we can talk it over.

3.Downloadable Games
=======================
These games require you to have a GBA (or SP) and the Game Boy Advance
Cable. Connect the Nintendo Gamecube to the GBA using the Nintendo Gamecube
- Game Boy Advance Cable. Then Turn On the power to the Game Boy Advance.
DO NOT Disconnect the Nintendo Gamecube - Game Boy Advance Cable or Turn
off the power to the Game Boy Advance until download is complete.

3.1 Dr.Mario
------------
Controls : D-pad - Move Capsule
          A     - Spin Capsule clockwise
          B     - Spin Capsule Counter-Clockwise
          Start - Pause game

This is the same Dr.Mario we all know and love , just without the
2-player mode. If you really want to play Dr.Mario this is one way
to do it , but a better way (if you can) would be to just buy the game
WarioWare. Not only is a fantastic game , but you eventually unlock
Dr.Mario (known as Dr.Wario in it) fully playabile in it as well.
Otherwise though , if you just need an occasional quick fix of Dr.Mario
then this is one way to do it.

3.2 WarioWare Inc.
------------------
Controls : D-pad - move
          A     - Everything Else

This is just a trial version of the wonderful WarioWare game. Trust
me though , once you play the demo , you'll wanna play the real thing.
The games included in the demo are :

Saving Face        - Grab a falling Stick
Crazy Cars         - Jump a speeding car
Wario Whirled      - Stop the spinner on Wario
Dodge Balls        - Drive around to avoid the balls
Replellion         - Shoot the aliens
The Maze that Pays - Grab all the coins in the maze
Mug Shot           - Stop the cup as it slides by

They mostly play in this order (but sometimes mix it up a bit) and after
you play through the set they get harder and faster. How high can you get?
Special Note : The trial is still fun to play even if you own the full
version. Clear 20 games and watch what happens.

hey this IS a demo disk after all.

1. Billy Hatcher - If you hold A and press start on the title screen
you'll get to play level two.

2. WarioWare Trial - If you clear at least 20 games in the trial you
can watch wario shamelessy promote his game.
