PURPOSE
==========
I have written this FAQ to outline the fighter Li Mei. She is one of
my favourite characters in the entire series and is very powerful
when you know how to use her correctly. Li Mei had an interesting
look in MK:DA and a new direction in MK:D with the armour and all.
Once you start playing as her, you'll notice her quickness, her array
of special moves and especially her big, fat, juicy...COMBOS. This
gives every possible piece of information about Li Mei you could ever
want. Enjoy.

UNLOCKING LI MEI

If you want to get your hands on Li Mei's chest (pun intended) here
is what you have to do:
-Go into konquest mode
-Play through the story until you get to Outworld for a second time
-Go to the living forest and talk to Kano
-He orders you to work in Li Mei's village where the palace is being
built
-Go into the hut at F-8 where you will find Li Mei
-She disappears leaving behind her impressive chest

BACKSTORY
============
Status: Student

Height: 5'8
Styles: Baji Quan and Lui He Ba Fa
Weapon: Sais
The Deadly Alliance commanded Kano and his troops to force a
small population of people to construct a palace fortress. One
of those enslaved was Li Mei, who rebelled against the invaders
and attacked Kano himself. Recognizing the warrior spirit she
possessed, the sorcerer Quan Chi offered to free her people if
she could win the Deadly Alliance Tournament. If she did not
win, however, she would be forced to serve the Alliance and her
people would remain slaves forever. Li Mei had no choice but to
accept the offer.
Li Mei had been promised that her people would be freed from
enslavement if she could win the tournament held by the Deadly
Alliance. Now that she had emerged victorious, the true purpose
behind the tournament was finally revealed to her. Her soul would
be the last one Shang Tsung needed to completely revive the
Dragon King's lost army. Her people would never be freed and Li
Mei herself would remain trapped inside the mummified remains of
a dead soldier... cursed to serve the Deadly Alliance... forever.

Emerging as the victor of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi's fake tournament,
Li Mei fell victim to their evil plans and her soul was transplanted
into the mummified remains of an ancient soldier. Although rescued
from this fate by master Bo' Rai Cho, Li Mei has been tainted by the
warrior corpse her soul temporarily inhabited.

FIRST PERSON BIO
-------------------
I had entered the tournament held by the Deadly Alliance in hopes of
winning the freedom of my enslaved town -- I was a naive fool. Shang
Tsung and Quan Chi had no intention of rewarding a victor. Instead
they prepared to transplant my soul into the last remaining corpse of
Onaga's ancient army. Had it not been for the surprise intervention
of Master Bo' Rai Cho, I would have become a servant of evil.
Master Bo' Rai Cho brought me back to health, and for this I am
forever in his debt. The brief moment my soul occupied the warrior
corpse changed me in ways I may never fully understand. Master Bo'
Rai Cho has trained me well during the time I have spent with him,
and I feel a sense of duty to Outworld like never before. But I
cannot deny that I feel strangely drawn to a new power taking hold in
this realm...

An alliance had been formed of warriors from vastly different
origins, but with a similar goal: to defeat Onaga. Li Mei marched
uneasily into battle against the Dragon King. The closer she got to
him, the more she came to understand which side was truly deserving
of victory. Li Mei turned on her former allies and gave her emperor
the time he needed to finish merging the Kamidogu. The Dragon King
was now all-powerful. He had the means to control the universe, to
make and unmake as he saw fit. Li Mei watched in delight as the Elder
Gods fled before his might. Onaga then transformed her into his
queen, to be forever at his side. He had given her power beyond
anything she had ever imagined. Together, they will rule the One
Realm and slay the last of the Elder Gods.

EARLY LI MEI
===============
Li Mei started out very different in earlier deception. At the E3
playable demo, she had her alternate costume as her primary and also
gave her the Melon as a weapon (which later became Havik's). One
thing which I'm very annoyed at is that the dropped her old Baji Quan
fighting style, which was awesome, and gave her the much less
desirable Mi Zong fighting style which used to be one of Bo' Rai
Cho's fighting styles from MK:DA. Also, for an unknown reason, she is
seen in an earlyish screenshot holding Kitana's steel fans.

OUTFITS

1- Purple cap with two long sashes, purple bat-like bra and
panties with a sash coming out of the back, purple shoulder
pads and wrist guards, long purple boots.
2- Large spiky helmet stretching to the back of her head, purple
corset/breastplate which ends at her thighs, purple shoulder
pads and wrist guards, purple spandex covering her thighs,
purple shin guards.

Nova Blast- D,B+1
She stands back and lets out a flying ball of energy towards the
opponent. This is basically her sparkler move from MK:DA.
Carnival Spin- F,D+3
She spins on one leg in a circular motion, kicking the opponent with
the other. This is basically her klock kick move from MK:DA.
Flying Furry- F,F+2
She almost flies forward at the opponent, repeatedly punching the
opponent the face. This is basically her flying fists move from
MK:DA.
Flipping Heel Kick- D,B+4
She flips forwards in a circular motion, bringing her feet over her
head and kicking the opponent and then landing on her feet. This is
basically her kartwheel move from MK:DA.

FATALITIES & HARA-KIRI
-------------------------
Brutality- F,F,F,F,1 (sweep)
Li Mei makes quick punches up and down the opponents
body then walks away. The opponent begins to shake
violently and then explodes.
At The Bat- U,B,F,F,4 (sweep)
Li Mei uppercuts the opponents head off then takes
a few steps back. She then kicks the falling head
forwards into the opponents lifeless body and they
explode.
Flying Sword - U,D,U,D,3
She takes out her Kun Lun Dao and throws it into the
air. She then pokes her head out and the falling
sword decapitates her. She falls to the ground in
a slouched position.

GET UP MOVE
--------------
Not so much a move but its cool anyway. If you are defeated in a
match Li Mei lifts her two legs up, forces herself up on one toe, and
rubs off some "dust" off of her.

GOOD COMBOS
==============
Here a few good combos to use when in a tight situation. They are
very effective and do a lot of damage. The first 5 are all in the Lui
He Ba Fa fighting style the last is in the Mi Zong fighting style (I
named them myself):

LI MEI IN KONQUEST
=====================
(Interesting side note: This is the only training in which Shujinko
trains somebody else)
After entering the village once Kano arrests you, go to the glowing
green aura at location G-8 to find Li Mei. Talk to her and she will
explain to you that her village called Sun Do was the first village
to be enslaved by the Deadly Alliance, and the only way to free it
is to enter a tournament they are holding and win. Shujinko tells her
that he is worried about her going alone, and offers to teach her
some fighting styles he has picked up over the years. She accepts
your offer and this is what Li Mei must do to pass your training:
Shujinko: "Li Mei, I will begin your training with Lui He Ba
Fa high attacks, which I learned while training with
Master Bo'Rai Cho in Earthrealm."

Li Mei has fast combos and special moves. Sidestep and use combos a
lot. Her special moves are useful so use them a lot too.

When you defeat Li Mei, Shujinko congratulate her for the training.
He tells her that he knows someone who may be able to help to save
Sun Do called Hotaru. Li Mei accepts the information and Shujinko is
then sent off to Orderrealm to ask Hotaru for help.
