1. Introduction

********************
For years, Mario Party has provided fun for casual gamers and parties.
The creative boards in party mode added to the fun ofplaying and were
innovative as well as interactive. Each board has its own
characteristics and rules and makes every Mario Party experience
different. Anyway, onto the terms!

*************************
2. Terms You Need to Know

*************************
Boards= The playing fields you play in at Party and Solo Mode.

Blue Spaces=+3 coins

Red Spaces=-3 coins

Happening Spaces=Various things will "happen".

Miracle Spaces=a roulette trading game where you might gain or lose coins
and stars!

DK Spaces=DK starts a cool event, can be a DK mini game, or a DK bonus.

Bowser Spaces=Bowser starts a horrible event, can be Bowser Bonus, or Bowser
mini-game. (note: DK spaces change into Bowser spaces at nighttime and vice
versa in daytime).

Duel Spaces=You start a duel with another opponent and bet stars and coins
which the
winner gets when he/she wins.

Juctions=Places where there are two paths you can take.

Mini-game functions=If everybody lands on a blue space, or if everybody
lands on a red space, a four-way mini-game is started. If two people land
on red and two land on blue, then a two vs. two mini-game is started. If
one person lands on a blue space and 3 people land on red spaces, or if
1 person lands on a red space,
and 3 people on blue, then a 1 vs. 3 game will be initiated. If some people
land
on Miracle, Happening, or Duel spaces, the color they'll be(blue or red)
willbe determined randomly. If you land on DK, it's considered as a blue
space, whereas if you land on a Bowser, it's considered as a red space.

Orbs=Like Capsules from MP5, but you claim them as your own when you throw
them, you can sometimes get a couple coins for free when using them, and you
can buy them at orb huts.

Orb Huts=Place where you can buy an orb from a selection of three orbs.

Day/Night=A new feature introduced in MP6, day will change into night and
vice versaevery three turns, creating a whole new experience.

Mic=Another new feature included with the purchase of MP6, you can talk
into it and play a couple mini-games using it and also find out some
easter eggs.

Solo Mode-Formally known as story mode, however, instead of a story this
time, you can collect mini-games and stars for the star bank easily.
*secret* If your mic is is plugged in, if you say a number before you
hit the dice block, then you will have a much greater chance of rolling
that number, than if you were to regularly roll the dice. Also, the
highest number you can roll is a 6.

Star Bank=Once again, this is a new feature, where with the stars you
collect from mini-game mode, solo mode, party mode, and mic mode, you can
buy some fairly cool stuff ranging from a new character and board to the
Miracle Book!

***********************************
3. The Characters and other stuff

***********************************

In this Mario Party, there are 11 playable characters. Remember,
the charactershave slim to no influence on the gameplay.

-Mario
-Luigi
-Yoshi
-Peach
-Daisy
-Boo
-Wario
-Waluigi
-Koopa Kid
-Toad
-*unlocked in star bank* Toadette

Sadly, for all of you DK fans, DK is still unplayable.

Brighton and Twila are the hosts for this installment. Yeah, real catchy
story, they're having a feud and Mario and friends decide to host a Mario
Party to fill the Star Bank. Makes you wonder why didn't put in a story
mode with their fabulous story.Pshh

Night/Day Features also include Happening Spaces explanations, listed
after the non-happening spaces changes.Night/day features will always
include

-different orb shop prices
-shy guy replacing koopa troopa in shops and special events and vice versa
-graphics
-the music
-DK changing into Bowser and vice versa

Night/Day Features will always refer to the changing from day to night,
unless otherwise stated.

*=The Start of daytime explanations.
~=The Start of nighttime explanations.

I will also sometimes mention coins, using this chart...

none=0
few/little=1-4
couple=5-8
some=9-14
lot=15-up
depends=anything

and with that... the boards!

a. ~ Towering Treetop

Blue Spaces- 41

Red Spaces- 9

Happening Spaces- 6

Duel Spaces-3

Orb Spaces-4

Junctions-3

Miracle Spaces-2

DK/Bowser Spaces-3

Special Events-1, Pink Boo for 5 coins, you can steal coins from opp. For
30? coins you can steal a star.

Night/Day Features-The pink flower to the left will close making a shorter
path, and the purple flower to the right will open creating a longer path.
*Woody is happy and gives everybody some coins randomly. 3 bee spaces, the
bees sting you and take away few coins. Fluff airlines transports you to a
random place on the board. Tickle the tree will allow you to manipulate
the places of all the characters by tickling the tree a lot or not to let
the tree sneeze. ~There are no changes to the happening spaces except that
Woody is angry in the nighttime and will take away some coins from everybody
randomly.

Graphics- A huge tree in the middle of the board, leaves scattering around
in many different areas, vines, a rope slide thingy, tons of trees, flowers,
Pink Boo's house (in the background), wooden horses, a river, Woody, nests.

Method to collect stars-The Original way to collect them, travel around the
boardto buy the randomly placed star spaces for 20 coins.

Orb Huts- 1

Music- Light

Star Spaces- 6

b.~E Gadd's Garage

Blue Spaces-45

Red Spaces-9

Happening Spaces-10

Duel Spaces-1

Orb Spaces-7

Miracle Spaces-1

DK/Bowser Spaces-2

Special Events-0

Night/Day Features-The spin thing rotates creating a new path. *3 transport
spaces transport you to their next machine. The fan creates a suction
sucking up coins from all the players depending on their button-mashing
abilities and their position as regard to the fan's position. The closer
you are to the fan, the more coins you'll lose. The orb launcher machine
allows you to pay some coins to launch orbs all over the board, randomly,
so you can't choose if you want them to be roadblocks or space orbs.
3 "rolling" machine belt spaces will "roll" you to close to the start,
but also give you few coins. 2 orb conversion spaces located next
to each other allows you to give your orbs to E Gadd, so that he converts
them to other orbs. ~The only change in Nighttime is that the 2 orb
conversion spaces willgive you coins for your orbs instead of orbs for your
orbs.

Juctions-4

Graphics-A rooling belt stretching in the middle part of the board, teleport
machines, boxes, flashy lights, big fan, pipes, E Gadd Robot, huge rocket,
tools poster, forklift.

Method to collect stars- Once again, travel around the board to buy the
randomly placed star spaces for 20 coins

Orb Huts-2

Music-Jazzy, Machinery

Star Spaces-5

c.~Faire Square

Blue Spaces-45

Red Spaces-11

Happening Spaces-4

Duel Spaces-3

Orb Spaces-3

Miracle Spaces-1

DK/Bowser Spaces-1

Special Events-2, A Slot Machine and the Star Shuffle

Night/Day Features-The price for the stars remains at 20 coins. The Slot
machinecosts 5 coins per spin. The prizes if you get the same thing for
all three slotsare...coin=10 coins, mushroom=15 coins, fire flower=20 coins,
and treasure chest =however much it has. The value of the treasure chest
increases by 5 coins for every spin made. The Star Shuffle allows you to pay
1 star to try to earn 2. It's sort of a mixing up game, and you have to
keep track of which hat your star is under for the duration of the spinning.
It will show you where the star was placed at the beginning, and after all
the shuffling is over, you must pick the right hat out of the 3, to earn 2
stars.*The broom will take you either 1 space before the star space, or
1 after, randomly. The 2 "house" spaces will pull you into it and send you
back to the space after the start. The "auction" will take 10 coins from
everyone and the winner(determined randomly from a beanstalk) will win the
money collected. ~The stars' prices are random and can be 5 coins per star,
10, 30, or even 50. *secret* if you say the numberof coins you want it to be
while Twila is spinning the dice block, you'll have a higher chance
of getting that number. The slot machine will cost 10 coins, but the prizes
are of greater value, coin=20 coins, mushroom=30 coins, fire flower=40 coins.
The treasure chest will increase its value by 10 per spin. The Star Shuffle
allows you to pay 1 star to earn 3. However, there will be 6 hats to choose
from and it will spin very fast, so it will be harder to keep track of which
hat your star is in.

Junctions-4, 1 path is blocked by a Thwomp and won't move unless you pay
him 10 coins.

Graphics-houses, lights, a fountain, huge relic in the middle of the board,
an"auction house"/platforms, some kind of clock, wagon with balloons,
slot machine, flowers, The star shuffle platform, mailbox.

To collect stars-same star space every time anyone purchases stars, 20 coins
at day, 5, 10, 30, or 50 coins at night, determined randomly, and you can
purchase up to 5 stars per visit.

Orb Huts-2

Music-soft, light, sounds like a flute/oboe/piccolo/cymbals.

Star Spaces-1

d. ~Snowflake Lake

Blue Spaces-45

Red Spaces-7

Happening Spaces-4(6 in night)

Duel Spaces-7

Orb Spaces-4

Miracle Spaces-2

DK/Bowser Spaces-3

Special Events-4, 4 chain chomps

Night/Day Features-*If you pay a Chain Chomp 20 coins, you can ride him for
1 dice block and steal a star from anyone unlucky enough to be run over by
the Chain Chomp.2 ice skating for free coins will give you some coins
depending on how many coins you can get. 2 snowball roll will send you back
to the start, if you're in its path.~If you pay the Chain Chomp a certain
amount of coins, you can ride him for the amount of dice blocks you paid for
(10 for 1, 20 for 2, and obviously, 30 for 3)stealing a star from anyone the
Chain Chomp ran over. 3 freezies block alternate paths that
you can take making it harder to get into the 4 snowball fight spaces, where
if you hit an opponent with a snowball, they'll drop some coins.

Junctions-6(1 path blocked by Thwomp who won't budge unless you pay him 10
coins, and 4 paths blocked in nighttime, 3 by freezies which you can't do
anything about, and 1 by the annoying Thwomp.)

Graphics-tons of snow, ice skating/snowball fight rink in the middle of the
board, a koopa skeleton under the rink, ski lifts, snowmen, pine trees,
3 freezies in nighttime, logs, fences, snowy houses, penguins, Mario ice
figure, shovels, ice cubes, snowballs, acorns(don't ask), small trees,
flowers(don't ask).

To collect stars-run over people with Chain Chomps, everybody gets 5 stars
at the beginning of the game.

Orb Huts-2

Music-sounds like Trumpets, snowy, fun music.

Star Spaces-0

5. Strategies

**************

These are strategies for the boards

Towering Treetop-First of all, this is supposed to be a beginner's board, so
start here if this is your first time playing. Be aware that you can use
Woody to your advantage in night as well. If your opponent is close to the
star space, and has just reached 20 coins, land on Woody, sacrifice a few
coins, and watch your opponent suffer. Fluff Airlines is completely random,
so don't rely on that to get you closer to the star space. Always pack
space orbs at the very bottom of the board, because evantually, everybody
is going to have to pass it. If you fill it up, you can make a lot of money
getting a +5 coin boost, while they lose money, orbs and time.

E Gadd's Garage-This board is complicated for a couple reasons. First, the
paths you can take are very vast. Secondly, you can use that to your
advantage. Notice that most of the happening spaces makes you change your
position on the board, or they're affected by where you are. The rolling
money belt, for example. You should put space orbs right after that space,
so that people will land on it, and cannot have a choice. That space if
very powerful, so use it to its full potential. Next, crowd space orbs next
to the teleport machines, because many people are lured to use it, and will
have to land on your spaces. Also, that's where many of the stars are,
right after the machines, or closeto it. Try to use your position to mess
with your opponents.

Faire Square- It's hard to give strategies to a board that is so based on
luck, but I'll try. First, avoid the auction space. It can spell doom
for you. Forthat reason, don't put space orbs there, but instead roadbock
orbs, preferablyones that will change your opponents position, such as
Paratroopa. That will be an insurance just in case they land on it. Next,
use the Star Shuffle wisely. You're usually more likely to win the stars in
day, than in night. Actually, it's quite easy to win during daytime. That
all changes during nighttime. While you might think that the problem is
that there are more hats, the real problem is that the shuffle is much
faster and very hard to keep track of. Don't use it then, even if the 3 star
amount tempts you to do it. The slot machine next. It's fairly simple to win
, especially the coin one. I strongly advise you to use it, regardless of
day or night. The fee is small as well. This will most likely be a good
source of money.

Snowflake Lake-Ahh.. Snow... everybody loves it, and now you can use this
field to prove that point! First be wary of the chain chomp spots. If your
opponents are in front of the Chain Chomp, travel into the middle of the
board, where it can't hurt you. If it's nighttime, by all means pay that
Thwomp 10 coins to get access to the middle of the board where you can
hopefully survive for a little. Make sure to use the down path from the
junction ahead, to stall yourself. For these reasons, it's obvious that the
snowball roll can be used as an advantage to move you down to the start
space. Don't be deceived by what seems like a bad thing!

Castaway Bay-The sun's shining, the moon's glowing in this beautifully
createdboard in the middle of paradise. Or is it? Bowser will do anything
to ruin your party, and that's what this strategy will be focused on. When
DK is out, if you feel lucky, take the right path from the first junction
you face from the beginning. Or, if you also feel lucky, take the left path
(a longer one). The reason for this is because you'll hit an orb hut, which
may contain a good mushroom orb, such as the regular Mushroom, the Super
Mushroom, and the Sluggish Shroom. If it contains a Warp Pipe orb,
definitely buy that. If it contains a Klepto, feel free to buy that as well.
The Klepto is a risk, since it could send your opponent to the start when
Bowser's out as well. Use it at your own discreet. Use an acquired Sluggish
Shroom to land on one of the bells to switch DK and Bowser or to land on the
Ukiki Game. That can net you a lot of coins. When Bowser's out, take the
upper path when you hit the main junction, after the first junction. If
DK's out, take that junction as well. Why? Because you can pay 10 coins to
ride the raft which will bring you very close to the star space. The upper
path is longer, so if Bowser's out refuse the raft ride. Beware, though, if
Bowser hits you with one of his cannonballs which he will launch if you
take the raft ride sometimes, you'll lose 5 coins and maybe your upcoming
star. Note that there is a bell right before you hit the star space, so
avoid that at all costs, otherwise you're doomed to Bowser. If you're in no
rush to get DK, if your opponents are too far away, then you might consider
the right path, with a sluggish shroom in hand, or your luck. If you land on
the mushroom thing, then you might be awarded a new mushroom. Use these
strategies to your advantage!

Clockwork Castle-This board is high above the clouds, and very interesting
as well. The main strategy is, use the Warp Pipes! These will help you
intensely, whether you want to get closer to DK, or further from Bowser. I
can't stress that enough, use the Warp Pipes! Also, that happening space
that might take away all your orbs? That's like rare. That never happened to
me before, and definitely go onto it if you have the chance. It seems to
give you good orbs. Also, DK and Bowser can use mushrooms, DK eats a banana
and bowser breathes fire. Not much strategy to say, but remember that where
youare can determine if you win or not.

6. Comments

************

This section was developed when I found out that there were many
controversial issues on popularity of the boards. These were statements
taken out of the MP6 message boards, each board will have a mix of comments,
compliments, and concerns.

~Towering Treetop
"For Towering Treetops I really loved it at first because theres the slide
and the scenery was fantastic, but it got a little too repetive because
you always end up at the bottom which is like 20 spaces to go in a single
direction."~draboy12

"Nothing very interesting with this board.
This should be the first board you play in MP6 to get used to the gameplay
(if you're new)".~digifan

"Towering Treetop it's a great and easy board to play.
You can get a lot of orbs because there are a lot of orb spaces. The stars
are also easy to get on this board. All parts of the board are acessible
during all turns. When night and day change, the flowers of this board
close or open, but all locations of the board are still acessible. Pink Boo
appears on this board, so you may steal coins or stars from your opponents.
So, in my opinion, this board is good. It's better for beginners but even
veterans can enjoy playing it."
~Paulo123

E Gadd's Garage

E Gadd's Garage-
"Nice music. A lot of strategy is involved, especially since a lot of paths
change during day/night shifts."~digifan

"This board is one of the best, or the best, board of this game. You can
get a lot of orbs quickly and there are lots of events that can happen
when you land on a ? space. It may be difficult to get the stars because of
the turntable on the middle of the board, it changes when day turns into
night and vice versa. Anyway, this board is easy to play and the high
amount of different events makes it a great board map."~Paulo123

Faire Square

"The way the graphics are weren't impressive, but the fact that stars could
cost 5 coins at night was simply amazing."~TBF Bri 10

"An OK board where you can just go round and round the town square to buy
stars. A lot of board mini-games like the slot and "Hat Shuffle" thingy.
The "Hat Shuffle" is risky at night, but if you somehow pull it off, you'll
get 3 stars (including the one you paid to play this)."~digifan

"This board map is one of my least favorite. You can buy 5 stars at one time
if you have enough coins, but when you start a game you have to play at
least 3 turns to reach the star spot and I like to get stars quickly. Also,
this board uses a lot of luck events and you can win coins and stars easly,
but you can lose them as well. At night the price of the stars change.
I like this event when the price for the star is reduced to 5 or 10 coins,
but I hate when the price goes up to 40 coins. In my opinion, this is a
good board if you want to get a lot of stars, but you have to be patient
and, sometimes, lucky."~Paulo123

Snowflake Lake

"I don't really like the idea for the way to get stars in this board. A lot
of strategy involved, planning where to go to avoid being flattened."~digifan

"On this board there is not star space, so we use the Chain Chomp to steal
stars from other players. The good points of this board are: You can easly
get orbs, coins are also easy to get, at the end of the board, when the
turns end, you will receive 20 stars for sure. The bad points are: You can't
get more stars, you can only steal stars from the others, it's annoying when
a Chain Chomp stomps your character for the 10th time and you can't reach
the center of the board map at night.I think that this board is good to
play if you want to get a lot of stars easily, but if you want to play a
fun map with your friends, choose another board, not this."Paulo123

Castaway Bay

"It also has some excellent scenery especially the water. But it is kind of
like a remake of Mario's Rainbow Road (something like that in mario party 1)
Although I didn't like it at first, I soon became interested because it does
require a few strategy like when to hit the happening space or to take the
longer route or the shorter route. Or even to pay some money to take a raft
so that you can come to the boat faster to grab the star first."~draboy12

"This one requires strategy and luck.
You could be near the DK boat with no one else near you, and then someone
steps on a "?" space and switches it to the Bowser Battleship.Very frantic."
~digifan

"It's a fun board map to play but is based on luck because the Bowser and
DK boats can change places at anytime, so you don't know when you will win
or lose a star. You can catch the raft to get to the last island and get a
star before the othersand Pink Boo appears on this board. The music of this
board map is good. This board isn't one of my favorites but it's fun to play.
"~Paulo123

Clockwork Castle

"Chase when day, avoid at night.
This is as (if not more) frantic than Castaway Bay."~digifan

"This is my least favorite board. The graphic details are good and this
board map is great, but what ruins it is the Bowser/DK mode. At day,
DK travels through the board and sells you stars, that's the good part,
but at night, DK turns into Bowserand steals your stars and coins if
he passes by you or if you pass by him. It's annoying when you buy
a star in a turn and on the next turn Bowser steals the star
from you. The music on this board is great. I advise that you don't play
this board if you are trying to collect stars."~Paulo123

Thirsty Gulch

"This was so-so. Not much to comment on."~TBF Bri 10

"Nice for a quick short solo game. Usually only gets a little bit of stars
though."
~digifan

"The music on this board is good. It is a small board and easy to play.
Maybe you won't get as many stars as in other Solo Mode board maps, but in
my opinion, this is the best board of the three Solo Mode boards."~Paulo123

Astro Avenue

"My favorite as far as graphics goes. Nothing beats and astrological board."
~TBI Bri 10

"1 vs 3 game are a lot here, but it's easy to step on a "?" space and reach
the end instantly."~digifan

"This board map is different from the other Solo Mode boards because when
you land on a ? space, you will be taken close to the finish and not to the
start. This board has lots of 1 vs. 3 spaces. I don't like this board, so I
don't play it very much."~Paulo123

Infernal Tower

"My favorite of the 3 solo mode boards. Insane! I got 84 stars in one run
(could have had probably 90 something if it wasn't for that dang battle luck
mini-game >_<)."~TBF Bri 10

"Tedious, but once you reach the end, you'll get a lot of stars.
If you played for 40 minutes and went past the Rare Game Space.....
please don't throw your Gamecube out of the window."~digifan

"This is the best board to win stars, because it's the biggest one. I like
this board, the only thing that is bad is that it has a lot of Bowser spaces.
"~Paulo123
