I. Introduction
____________

Mario Party 4 contains a series of unlockable "presents" that fit the game's
overall birthday theme. Most of them are obtained through Story Mode, but a
few are received by clearing certain "goals" in the mini-games. Still others
are only available by meeting certain conditions. This guide is designed to
help you complete the game with all of the secret presents. If you have any
questions concerning this guide or aspects of the game, you can e-mail me
at [email protected]. I'm also an active user of the GameFAQS message board
and my username for that is Nfan13. Please enjoy this guide and get to work
on these presents!


II. Frequently Asked Questions
______________________________

Q: What exactly ARE the presents?
A: In Mario Party 4, there is a feature called the Present Room. Here, you
can unlock various items that go with a character in the game. There is a
room for every playable character and six items you can unlock for them.

Q: How long does it take to unlock all these presents?
A: From my experience it takes 40+ hours of total gameplay for the average,
not-so-lucky gamer. Keep in mind a lot of Mario Party 4 is luck, so it can
widely range in time. It took me a much longer time, but mostly due to the
fact I had to get information and re-look things up.

Q: Is there any real benefit to unlocking all the presents?
A: Actually, there is (I'll explain that later), but also keep in mind that
unlocking all the presents is the only real way to fully complete the game.

Q: Who's your favorite Mario Party 4 character?
A: Yoshi all the way! ^_^

NOTE: The presents are divided each into small "rooms" and descriptions of
how the items look (APPEARANCE) are completely based on what I, personally,
think of what they look like.


MARIO'S ROOM
============

NAME: Mario's Sofa
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Defeat Toad in Story Mode with Mario
APPEARANCE: Basically just a pink sofa, nothing really special at all.

NAME: Mario's Television
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Defeat Goomba in Story Mode with Mario
APPEARANCE: A blue television.

NAME: Mario's Table
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Defeat Shy Guy in Story Mode with Mario

NAME: Birthday Cake
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Clear Tournament Beach Volley Folly
APPEARANCE: A large triple-layer birthday cake.

NAME: Goomba's Clock
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Knock down 100 "dominoes" or more in Domination
APPEARANCE: A goomba-shaped clock.

NAME: Boo's Photostand
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Reach the goal within 10 sec. in Mario Speedwagons
APPEARANCE: A photostand shaped like Boo.

NAME: Toad's Cup
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Clear 20 pieces in Jigsaw Jitters within 1 minute
APPEARANCE: Eight small, green mushroom-shaped cups.


PRESENT ROOM
============

NAME: Birthday Star Trophy
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Get all 59 items before it. (The reward for unlocking all
              other normal presents)
APPEARANCE: A very large golden trophy with a Starman on top.

NAME: Bowser's Gnarly Party
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Clear Bowser's Board at least once in Story Mode
WHAT IT IS: Bowser's playable board in Party Mode.

NAME: Expert Mode for CPU
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Clear Stroy Mode on Hard
WHAT IT IS: The hardest level of CPU gameplay.

NAME: Customized Package
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Create a custom package in Mini-Game Mode
WHAT IT IS: A set of Mini-Games you select to only be available during Party
           Mode and Story Mode.

NAME: Mini-Game Bonus List 1
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Defeat Bowser and his board
WHAT IT IS: The Final Battle mini-game.

NAME: Mini-Game Bonus List 2
HOW-TO UNLOCK: Play Bowser Wrestling while on Bowser's board
WHAT IT IS: Bowser Wrestling mini-game
