3. Offensive Strengths
The Eagles are a very strong team both offensively and defensively. On offense
the Eagles are more known for there air attack while the running game goes
un-noticed. The thing is though that with Westbrook and Buckhalter as a duo the
team is very effective on running the ball. However now with the pick up of star
wide receiver Terrell Owens most people look to defend the pass. McNabb's speed
is also a great weapon sometimes forcing a teamto send a lot of blitzes leaving
Terrell Owens in one on one coverage to beat a man deep.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4. Offensive Weaknesses
Even with Terrell Owens now on the receiving core of the Eagles the team still
may have trouble producing on the pass. Some of the better defenses can double
up on Owens and send single coverage on the other receivers like Pinkston and
Mitchell who still are not showing how good they truely are. If Pinkston and
Mitchell can step up and play well than it is hard to find a weakness in offense
but until that happens stick with looking for Owens first.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5. Defensive Strengths
With the arrival of defensive end Jevon Kearse this defense has truely taken a
big step up. Also with linebacker Dhani Jones on the left side pressure can
definetly be established on the quarter back. Also the pro safteys are a great
key to the defenses success. The freak can pressure the quarterback into bad
desisions as the safteys go and break the passes up, BUT remember nothing is
always certain.

6. Defensive Weaknesses
Many would start with the loss of Troy Vincent and Bobby Taylor as a huge loss
for the defense of the Eagles. Sadley it isn't true one bit. Lito Sheppard and
Shelton Brown have proven themselves time and time again to not be as bad as
everybody says. They may not be the best but the do have a lot of talent. The
biggest weakness would probably be the linebackers. Problems with stopping the
run will occur unless a blitz is brought almost every play. The best way to
prevent this... is well to send a blitz every play.

9. Key Offensive Plays
Singleback Tight - Hitch Corners
Terrell Owens runs a corner route here, and can physically bump his defender off
on the cut to the outside. With his size and speed, Owens is a threat to go the
distance after the catch. The real saving grace is Brian Westbrook down the
middle. He's fast and will beat most linebackers if you are looking his way.
I Form Normal - HB Lead Toss
Brian Westbrook isn't your conventional up the middle running back. He has shifty
moves and can make multiple linebackers miss. The toss is ideal because it will
force defenders to take an angle on him, and he can cut back against their
pursuit. Be prepared to take a loss every now and then on this play but also be
ready to break it big.
Singleback Normal - Slot Pivot
On this play, you'll be looking not for Owens but for Freddie Mitchell in the
slot. He'll "sell" the inside route before angling back to the outside and away
from his defender. If Mitchell is well covered, Chad Lewis or L.J. Smith will
float out off the line for an easy pass. Lastly, if the safeties have come up
to help defend the underneath now check for Owens deep downfield.

10. Key Defensive Plays
Nickel 3-3-5 - Double Outside
The Eagles lost Troy Vincent to free agency and must compensate by helping out
on the corners. Everyone is in man coverage here, with the SE and FL positions
being doubled up. Brian Dawkins is a great safety, and will pick off his share
of passes. Watch the TE down the middle of the field against this formation
though.
4-3 Normal - Strong Flat 3
This is a Cover 2 with a small twist. The cornerback on the left side drops deep
instead of rolling up in flat pressure. This action deceives the quarterback and
might tempt him into throwing deep into coverage, which will result in an
interception more often than not.
Dime - Zone Man X
Here the Eagles go man up on the number-two receivers while dropping two
defenders into zones against the top receiving threat. The man twist can be
enhanced with a bump, as the quarterback might see the number-one receiver come
off clean, and assume the second wide-out will as well. With a bump he'll be
jammed at the line.

11. Help Playing With The Eagles
To start things off don't overuse Donovan McNabb running the ball. As known he
hasn't been to healthy the last few seasons and with a good hit it could end
another one. To run the ball mainly use Westbrook as he is the HB future of the
team. Don't over play him though also throw in Buckhalter in short situations
and on 3rd downs. Along with starters, try playing L.J. Smith longer and more
often than Lewis. Smith may not have the experience but Lewis will be gone soon.
Lastley set up trips a lot and send the playmaker T.O. deep for some long
yardage situations.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
12. Help Playing Against The Eagles
McNabb is the key threat to your team if you're on defense. Always dedicate a
linebacker to avoid him getting on the run. Moving onto offense you need to run
the ball more than not. The Eagles have fallen short in stopping the run lately.
When running look to run it the opposite side of the field that Kearse is on now
that him and Dhani can easily team up on any running back.
13. SilverChaosVII's Franchise Tips
* Be sure to start Brian Westbrook at the HB position
* You can set Buckhalter as a 3rd down back if wanted but Westbrook will hold up
* Start L.J. Smith at TE, he is younger and improves faster than Chad Lewis
* I suggest starting Freddie Mitchell over Pinkston at WR
* After the first year look to improving MLB on defense
