Introduction and How To Read This Document

Each of the cards are designated by their name, number, duration of affect,
rarity, value if sold back, and their power rating as appraised by the game
makers. The Card Description is the quote off of the back of the card,
verbatim.

Note however, that the rarity of some cards is very much off, and I do not at
this time have the data to be able to share the true rarity of the cards. We
are working on that, but are awaiting the release of NASCAR Thunder 2003 so
that we get an accurate sample with all of the cards unlocked.

Any time a "/" is used in this FAQ it denotes the difference between bronze,
silver and gold information on the card. Thus a card that is good for
1 play as a bronze, 1 quarter as a silver, or 1 half as a gold will have
"P/Q/H" to denote play, quarter and half respectively. In the cases where
the variable by card type is a percentage, the percentages are listed.
Thus, a card that affects a given attribute by 25% as a bronze, 50% as a
silver, and 75% as a gold would be shown as 25/50/75% respectively. A "G"
represents "Game".

Note also that not all cards can be earned in packs. Some will only come as a
result of getting a gold in a mini camp. Some will only come as a reward for
beating a game situation. Some will only be available through another means.
We are currently working on this information but again are awaiting the
release of NASCAR Thunder 2003 so that we may test these with a proper sample.

Some of the cards have bugs. I have not had a chance to play test all of the
cards yet. I am certain there are more bugs out there. I have found some on my
own. Some of the information listed on this page may be incorrect. If you find
any new information or have a correction to make, feel free to contact us. Your
contribution helps others!

Cards #1 - #150 are player's cards, and have a picture of the player on the
front; they come in bronze, silver or gold.

The backs of all the player cards all have the same explanation to them, except
for the career stats of the player the card belongs to. Those are not listed
here.

Card Description:
"[Player's name] will be added to the roster as a Free Agent."

Card Explanation:
It is unconfirmed that the player in question will be added to your franchise
roster. He will be given the age of 36, and his attributes will be optimized
to reflect the best he ever achieved in his NFL career. Yes, you have to pay
the player, and some are quite expensive. We are currently gathering that
information and will be adding it shortly. To the best of my knowledge,
Historic players retire via the same formula as other players do.

Card Description:
"[Player's name] will be added to the roster as a Free Agent."

Card Explanation: This card simply adds the musicians, primarily from Good
Charlotte, to your roster. Any time you start a new profile, you receive
enough tokens to purchase one pack of Madden Cards. The first pack of a new
profile will always contain the following musicians, and ten random cards from
those that are unlocked to the profile.

Note: In the case of the cards locked via mini camp mode (the drills),
receiving a gold trophy in the specified drill unlocks the bronze version of
the card in Rookie mode, the silver in Pro mode, and the Gold in All-Pro mode.
Receiving a gold in the drill also earns you one of the corresponding card.


206. 1st and 5

Card Description: "When this card is played, your first down yards to go will
be set to five for 1 P/Q/H."


207. 1st and 15

Card Description: "This card requires your opponent to get 15 yards to reach
a first down for 1 P/Q/H.


208. 5th Down

Card Description: "When this card is played, you will get 5 downs to make a
first for 1 P/Q/H."

Note: Card #208 is bugged. If a player attempts to use a bronze version of
this card, it seems to have no affect. If someone knows has used the bronze
version of this card effectively, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know how.


209. 3rd Down

Card Description: "When this card is played, your opponent will only get 3
downs to make a first for 1 P/Q/H."


210. Human Plow

Card Description: "When this card is played, your broken tackles will increase
by 25/50/75% for the game."

Note: This card is locked and can only be unlocked by receiving a gold trophy
in the Ground Attack drills.


211. Super Dive
---------------
Card Description: "When this card is played, your diving distance will
increase by 25/50/75% for the game."


212. Da Boot
------------
Card Description: "When this card is played, you will receive unlimited field
goal range for 1 P/Q/H."

Note: This card is locked and can only be unlocked by receiving a gold trophy
in the Clutch Kicking drills.


213. Tight Fit

Card Description: "When this card is played, your opponent's uprights will be
made very narrow for 1 P/Q/H."


214. Da Bomb

Note: This card is locked and can only be unlocked by receiving a gold trophy
in the Swat Ball drill.


216. Mistake Free

Card Description: "When this card is played, you can't fumble or throw an
interception for 1 P/Q/H."

Note: This card is bugged. Although it happens rarely, a player can fumble
despite that this card has been played. In the instance that I had it happen,
it is possible that the fumble was not a "legitimate" fumble and would have
been over-turned by a review of the play, however I was out of challenges at
the time that this occurred.


217. Fumblitis

Card Description: "When this card is played, your opponent's fumbles will
increase by 25/50/75% for the game."

Note: This card is locked and can only be unlocked by receiving a gold trophy
in the Chase and Tackle drill.

219. Unforced Errors

Card Description: "When this card is played, your opponent will fumble every
time he tries to juke for 1 P/Q/H."


220. Mr. Mobility

Card Description: "When this card is played, your QB can't be sacked for 1
P/Q/H."

Note: This card is bugged. Although it happens rarely, your quarterback can be
sacked even if you play this card.


221. Extra Credit

Card Description: "This card awards 2/3/4 points for every interception and
1/2/3 points for every sack."

Note: This card is locked and can only be unlocked by placing a save file from
EA's NCAA 2003 game onto the memory card.


222. Touchy

Card Description: "When this card is played, your opponent's penalties will
increase by 50% for 1 P/Q/H."


223. Bad Spot
