Alastor AlisleX is directly responsible for all this new, AWESOME work
done to the Madden Cards section of this guide! Check it out now.
v4.0 [September 11, 2002]
A big day for updates. The game's FINAL ROSTER UPDTATES have been added,
some lyrics have been fixed, a few new categories have been added... a
new Mini-Camp FAQ.. there's a great deal to see here that's new, so check
it out.
v3.5 [August 29, 2002]
Thanks to
[email protected] for pointing out a slight mixup.. some other
things fixed, new lyrics added. A nice new section devoted to explaining
player ratings has been added, thanks to Scott Taylor and SystemofaLetDown
for this section.
v3.1 [August 26, 2002]
A handful of updates.
v3.0 [August 25, 2002]
An incredible update. Hopefully you love it.
v1.0 [August 21, 2002]
First, I have to thank TD3325 for all his help with the Create-A-Player
roster updates. Without him, that wouldn't be in existence, thanks. I've
added a bunch of new stuff, tweaked roster updates, and I'm beginning to
work on football strategy next.
v0.7 [August 17, 2002]
Very minor updates.. added some lyrics! The roster updates are still a
work in progress. It's a pain to verify it all, so expect it either one
or two days from now.
v0.6 [August 16, 2002]
Added some frequently asked questions. Fixed some rosters. Added a bunch
of team ratings have been.. big update, folks. Because I'm such a very
nice guy, I'm gonna wish Matt a happy birthday. He'll be driving a
Mitsubishi 3000GT, gotta drop him the respect.
v0.5 [August 15, 2002]
A guide begins to answer every question that is asked every day on the
message boards. This guide will be incredibly useful when it is finished,
so if you have anything to contribute, e-mail me.
-INTRODUCTION-
This guide will teach you all the basics about football. It will also feature
ratings, tricks, roster fixes, and a bunch of other neat stuff. So what are
you waiting for? Start reading.

Introduction
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
This Roster Updates guide is an incredible piece of work, taking hours and
hours of time to complete and produce. This guide will update your default
Madden NFL 2003 rosters to complete accuracy for the start of the 2002-2003
NFL football season, September 5, 2002.
These roster transactions are not easily made. Free Agent space is extremely
tight, so you may not be able to release some of these players. My suggestion
is to edit the players, changing them into other players that are needed
elsewhere in the league. The Free Agent pool only allows for 256 players, so
which fills up quickly.
The only way you'll be able to make all these moves is to be creative with your
editing. Instead of cutting a player, edit him into a player that you'll need
to create anyway. You won't be able to change his position, college, or some
other attributes, but you will be able to get around the free agency limit.
Credits for this work start with splodem, who's compiled an excellent list of
transactions. He's worked hard to provide accurate rosters and a lot of
players that need to be created. He's the man behind all this.
AlleyViper, Remer88, Suspect7, and TD3325 also played integral roles in the
roster editing section of this guide, and they should be properly acknowledged.
Many web sites were used to compile this extraordinary work, including OurLads,
ESPN, and NFL official web sites.
If you find any errors, please e-mail me with proof of the error. If I forgot
to credit you for any reason, please e-mail me.

Frequently Asked Questions About Roster Updates
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Q: How do I turn on the Salary Cap?
A: If the option to turn on the Salary Cap is grayed out, you must first delete
your Settings File. Next, reset your game. The option to turn it on will
return.
- - -
Q: How do you edit the players?
A: Choose Features menu. Then choose Rosters. Choose the player you would like
to edit and then press X to begin.
- - -
Q: How do I retire a player?
A: Choose Features menu. Then choose Rosters. Choose the player you would like
to edit and then press X to begin. Now lower all of the player's stats to
zero. He will not be removed from the game, but his overall rating will be
extremely low, therefore making him useless, and, effectively, retired.
- - -
Q: I cannot release a player! I don't have enough players at this position!
A: Yes, this IS a problem. It is not my fault, nor is it anyone's fault. You
will need to find a creative way of fixing this, though. Try creating a
player to fill in for the player you need to cut, or try editing an already
existing free agent and rename him to a player you need. Visit the NFL
official web site <
http://www.nfl.com > for a complete list of NFL rosters,
so you know who to create.
- - -
Q: I cannot release a player! There are too many free agents!
A: Yes, this IS a problem. It is not my fault, nor is it anyone's fault. You
will need to find a creative way of fixing this, though. Instead of
creating players to fill roster slots, edit free agents. Then, you can
slowly unpopulate the free agent pool. There is no true solution to this
problem; be creative and try your best.
- - -
Q: I don't want to do all this work!
A: If you do not want to do this work, I recommend picking up a SharkPort and
downloading EA's roster updates or Wallace Nail's roster updates. Both are
incredibly accurate. Search Google for these files once you own a GameShark
SharkPort device.
- - -
NOTE: Do not e-mail me about these rosters unless you have a correction. I can
not help you solve the problems of roster space.

Chapter Three: Football Positions <ID#003>
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
If you're new to the football scene, you'll want to check this section out. It
explains positions you may or may not know for casually watching football on
television. Read up.
=========
Backfield
=========
QB - Quarterback
----------------
Also referred to as your field general, the QB is the man who takes the ball
after it has been hiked. He is extremely valuable to the team. Quarterbacks
are responsible for passing to your receivers, reading the defenses, and
making well placed handoffs to your runningbacks.
=================
RB - Runningbacks
=================
HB - Halfback
-------------
The halfback is another position vital to the success of your offense. A good
halfback will be expected to run inside, run outside, make blocks to protect
the quarterback, and catch screen passes. Halfbacks are usually very quick
and have good hands. Halfbacks are often called runningbacks, RB. However,
RB is the term most often deemed when reffering to either a HB or FB.
FB - Fullback
-------------
The fullback provides your team with the blocking off the line of scrimmage.
All halfbacks know that the fullback is their best friend. The fullback clears
open pathes for your halfback. On short-yardage situations, the fullback can
be expected to punch it in for a yard or two.
3DRB - 3rd Down Running Back
----------------------------
Your quickest runningback will most likely be selected for this. This is the
runningback your team brings on third downs, hence the name.
==============
RV - Receivers
==============
WR - Wide Receiver
------------------
At least one good wide receiver is key to every team. You'll have about two
wide receivers on most plays, and sometimes you might have five receivers. The
position requires extreme speed, great hands, and the ability to get open.
TE - Tightend
--------------
Super Bowl team always feature a strong tightend. The tightend is a go-to-guy
for your quarterback. Tightends are expected to block, catch over the middle
passes, and run out patterns towards the sidelines. A good tightend has your
team's best set of hands and is built big, but still has decent speed. It is
preffered that a tightend be tall and weigh a lot to break tackles on short
passes and to give the quarterback a bigger target.
======================
OL - Offensive Linemen
======================
T - Offensive Tackle
--------------------
The tackle (LT Left Tackle or RT Right Tackle) lines up on the outside of the
line of scrimmage. Offensive tackles provide passing defense for your
quarterback. They must be quick on their feet in addition to extremely strong.
G - Offensive Guard
-------------------
Guards (LG Left Guard or RG Right Guard) provide your team with the inside
run game blocking. Offensive guards are usually the strongest players in the
entire NFL.
C - Center
----------
The center hikes the ball to the quarterback. A center must be extremely
intelligent and must constantly be aware of the game around him. Centers are
usually paid the biggest bucks, out of all offensive linemen, because of their
vital importance to the game. There are not many extremely capable centers.
======================
DL - Defensive Linemen
======================
DE - Defensive End
------------------
The defensive end plays on the outside of the defensive line (LDE Left
Defensive End or RDE Right Defensive End). Defensive ends are quick players
who must be able to catch the quarterback if he starts to scramble. Defensive
ends usually pick up the team's most sacks.
DT - Defensive Tackle
---------------------
Defensive tackles (LDT Left Defensive Tackle, RDT Right Defensive Tackle, or
NT Nose Tackle) are the biggest players on the defensive squad. DTs are the
first line of defense against a pounding running offense. If you can't stop
the run, you can't win football games. Simple enough, you need a strong
defensive line. And it starts with the defensive tackle.
================
LB - Linebackers
================
OLB - Outside Linebacker
------------------------
Stopping the outside run and the short pass are the outside linebacker (LOLB
Left Outisde Linebacker or ROLB Right Ouside Linebacker). Your OLB must be
quick and agile, but his tackling skills musn't suffer because of his speed.
MLB - Middle Linebacker
-----------------------
The middle linebacker plays the short passes over the middle and stops the
inside runs. Middle linebackers are bigger than the outside linebackers. The
middle linebacker is often the "defensive quarterback". He's your defensive
leader. A strong middle linebacker is key to a strong defense.
====================
DB - Defensive Backs
====================
CB - Cornerback
---------------
Cornerbacks cover the receivers. Cornerbacks need to be as fast as the
receivers they cover to be effective. With good hands, your cornerbacks might
also intercept a lot of passes thrown their way.
FS - Free Safety
----------------
The free safety, also named weak safety, plays the side of the field without
the tightend. He's effectively "free" to do as he so pleases, doubling up a
receiver, blitzing the quarterback, etc.
SS - Strong Safety
------------------
Your strong safety must be able to make strong tackles. He'll be covering the
tightend or possibly a receiver, so he also needs to be quick on his feet. The
strong safety is a critical position when building a team.
==================
ST - Special Teams
==================
K - Kicker
----------
Your kicker will attempt your field goals, point after touchdown (PAT), and, by
default, kick the ball off. A strong kicker is important, but don't sacrifice
your kicker's kick accuracy. Nothing is worse than missing an easy kick.
KOS - Kick Off Specialist
-------------------------
This is where your strongest kicker/punter should be placed. In addition to
regular duties, this player also kicks off for your team.
P - Punter
----------
The punter, obviously, punts the ball. Hopefully, your punter has high kicking
power. You may switch your punter in for kickoffs if he is stronger than your
kicker. The punter punts the ball away after a safety, too.
LS - Long Snapper
-----------------
The longer snapper is your center on punting plays and kicking plays. Veteran
players usually perform this job, as they have more experience in tight
situations.
PR - Punt Returner
------------------
Most often your cornerbacks and wide receivers play this position. Be careful
starting your best players at PR, though. You don't want a senseless injury to
your best wide receiver on a meager special teams return.
KR - Kick Returner
------------------
Like PR, the KR is another position that requires speed. Don't risk injuries
to your best players, though. KR and PR are often third or fourth string
positions.

Chapter Four: Football Terms <ID#004>
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
If you don't understand some of the football speak, you'll want to check this
section out.
Backfield
---------
It's the area between the two tightends behind the line of scrimmage. If there
is only one tightend, then the backfield is drawn from where the other tightend
would line up. In the backfield you'll find the QB and RBs.
Conversion
----------
Either PAT (Point After Touchdown) or 2 Point Conversion. The PAT is a field
goal attempt for one point after a touchdown. The 2 Point Conversion is a
regular play ran after a touchdown in hopes of gaining two points.
End Zone
--------
Also known as pay dirt. This is where you need to reach to score a touchdown.
Field Goal
----------
The kicker's attempt at kicking the ball through the goal post. Worth three
points. If this attempt is successful, the offensive will kick off. If the
attempt fails, the defense gets the ball from the spot of the kick, not the
line of scrimmage.
Interception
------------
When the defensive team catches the QB's pass.
Play Action
-----------
When the QB fakes a handoff to the RB in hopes of fooling the defense.
Wideout
-------
Another name for a wide receiver.
I'll be adding more terms next release.

Chapter Five: Play Online With A Cable Modem <ID#005>
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This is an alternative, for those people who want to go online with Madden NFL
2003, yet they do not want to pay (or wait) for Sony's adaptor. This will only
work with the PlayStation 2 console, so don't go trying it with your GameCube
or Xbox. In addition, I am writing this for the NORTH AMERICAN version. If
you happen to get a version other than that, this might not work.
============
Requirements
============
- Linksys 10/100TX USB Ethernet Adapter
- cable modem
- ethernet cable
- USB cable to connect adapter to PS2
- Sony PS2 Memory Card (400KB Free)
- Sony PS2 System
- Sony PS2 Madden NFL 2003 Game
- USB Keyboard for PS2 (recommended, although not entirely needed)
=========================
Diagram: How To Set It Up
=========================
You'll need to hook your ethernet adaptor up to your cable modem with an
ethernet cable, before you can do anything.
Next, use your USB cable to hook the ethernet adaptor up to your PS2. This is
not complicated, as long as your cables are long enough. Make sure the cables
you buy can reach sufficiently: you don't want the cables to tear or pull the
adaptor or PlayStation 2 apart.
Here is a useful diagram:
+-------+ +--------+ +--------+
| Cable +--ethernet--+Ethernet| USB | Sony |
| Modem | cable |Adaptor +--cable---+ PS2 |

==============
Getting Online
==============
- Turn on Madden NFL 2003
- Select Features, Online
- Create a new account
- Load, dark blue screen appears
- Add new settings
- Proceed until it asks to select hardware
- Select the Linksis 10/100TX USB Ethernet Adapter
- Proceed until it asks for a password
- If you need one to connect, select 'yes'--chances are you can just press 'no'
- Your next two choices need to be 'auto'
- It's all set up, so quit
- Now go online, through Features, Online
- Make a profile, register it online
- Begin a game, making sure all goes well
- Those are all the steps you must complete, in order. Do that exactly, and
you will have no problems. I take NO RESPONSIBILITY if you screw something
up, so work on this at your own risk.
- There is a chance that you may not be able to get online, due to any possible
reason, including your ISP not being compatible. I will not be held
responsible for that, either, so check with your ISP before you go out and
spend money on these items.
- If you have problems with this, do not e-mail me. If you e-mail me about
going online with any question, I will ban you forever. Ask at the message
boards for help, but do not e-mail me.
- If you are having problems finding the right material, print this document
out and bring it to Best Buy, Radio Shack, or another similiar place. They
should be able to hook you up with the right components. It might be pricey,
but this is the only alternative to getting online with Madden NFL 2003.

Chapter Six: Frequently Asked Questions <ID#006>
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Q: Is this game blue-disc?
A: This game is a regular DVD, so you do not have to worry if this is a
blue-disc CD that won't play on your PS2.
- - -
Q: How do I turn off Auto-Save?
A: Choose Settings menu, then choose Save, then choose Auto-Save. You can
toggle it from on and off.
- - -
Q: How do I turn on the Salary Cap?
A: If the option to turn on the Salary Cap is grayed out, you must first delete
your Settings File. Next, reset your game. The option to turn it on will
return.
- - -
Q: Why isn't LaVar Arrington in the game Why isn't Player X in the game?
A: If a player is not in the game, it is because he is not in the NFLPA. The
game only uses players in the NFLPA, for legal purposes. LaVar Arrington is
not in the NFLPA, obviously.
- - -
Q: How do you edit the players?
A: Choose Features menu. Then choose Rosters. Choose the player you would like
to edit and then press X to begin.
- - -
Q: Why can't I block kicks, sack the QB, run back kickoffs, intercept passes,
block punts, etc?
A: In the NFL, these things are very uncommon. Do not expect to block very many
field goals or run back every kickoff.
- - -
Q: Where is Jerry Rice? Where is Player X?
A: If you cannot find a player, please use the search feature located here:
http://www.ourlads.com/secure/index.cfm
- - -
Q: Should I get Madden NFL 2003 or Sega Sports NFL2k3?
A: That is a question only you can answer. Read different reviews and decide
for yourself. If you are unsure, rent both. Madden has mini-camp modes, NFL2k3
doesn't.
- - -
Q: Where is the HB Pass? The reverse?
A: The HB Pass is in many locations, but one location is the BUFFALO BILLS
PLAYBOOK, in the I-Formation. The PITTSBURGH STEELERS PLAYBOOK has a reverse
in the Single Back formation, as do a number of places.
- - -
Q: How can I perform a lateral?
A: You cannot perform laterals.
- - -
Q: Does the computer ever trade players?
A: Never.
- - -
Q: Does the computer ever offer trades?
A: Never.
- - -
Q: Can I get rid of that annoying music track box?
A: No. You can switch songs, though, by bringing up the help menu and then
pressing L1 or R1.
- - -
Q: Can I import new music tracks from the net?
A: Absolutely not.
- - -
Q: Why does the game switch my players at half time?
A: It does this when you are playing pre-season ONLY.
- - -
Q: How can you put a created play into a team's playbook?
A: You can't. You can only create your own playbook, using your own plays and
old plays. You can not edit pre-set playbooks.
- - -
Q: What are the Hot Route passing button selections?
A: When you select hot route, UP selects a fly pattern, DOWN selects a
buttonhook, LEFT selects an down and out left pattern, and RIGHT selects a down
and out right pattern. With Recievers, L2 calls a left slant, R2 calls a right
slant, while with Tight Ends and Backs, L2 calls a left blocking route, while
R2 calls a right blocking route. You cannot set post patterns or anything else.
- - -
Q: How can I move to the next music track?
A: Bring up the help menu (by pressing SQUARE), and then press L1 or R1 to
cycle through the game's different audio tracks.
- - -
Q: How do I unlock the locked Madden cards that need another football game and
racing game?
A: These cards must be unlocked by having NASCAR Thunder 2003 (for the racing
game) and NCAA 2003 (for the football game). No other games will work. Once
you obtain these games, create a system file for those games and then put
Madden NFL 2003 back into you PS2. It will unlock the Madden Cards. If you
do not own these games, you can alternatively download SharkPort files of the
games. For more information on a SharkPort, visit the GameShark's Sharkport

Chapter Nine: Trick To Gain Easy Tokens <ID#009>
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
This trick was previously used in Madden NFL 2002. While it has been tuned
down some (in Madden NFL 2002 you could get millions of tokens), you can still
earn a good deal of tokens for little work using this trick. Good luck.
Edit the speed of every player on the Redskins's defense to 15.
Now choose the Dallas Cowboys and begin to players' ratings.
Edit the runningbacks (HB, FB) and receivers (WR, TE) to 0 overall.
Edit the offensive linemen (T, G, C) to 99 pass block rating.
Edit the QB to 0 Passing Power and 0 Passing Accuracy.
Edit the QB to 99 Speed, Acceleration, Carrying, Awareness, Stamin, and Agiliy.
Save your roster. Name it "Cheat" and be sure it is loaded.
Begin a 2 Minute Drill on All-Madden difficulty, against the Redskins' defense.
Start a Two Minute Drill. Choose All-Madden, and then the Ravens' defense.
Offensively, select the Cowboys and then load your profile.
Begin to play. Choose Single Back and then pick a passing play. Hot Route
your second slot WR and your TE. Hot Route them to a buttonhook pattern.
Instead of performing the play, however, take off with your QB towards the
endzone, running down the right sideline. Repeat this as often as needed to
score touchdowns. The more touchdowns you score, the more tokens you will
receive. Expect about 500 tokens for performing this correctly.

Chapter Ten: Madden Cards Encyclopedia <ID#010>
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
NOTE: Alastor AlisleX is the man behind this section. If it was not for him,
then the Madden Cards Enclyclopedia would be absolutely nothing in comparison.
Thanks a lot man!
Each of the cards are designated by their name, number, duration of affect,
rarity, value if sold back, and their power rating as appraised by the game
makers. The Card Description is the quote off of the back of the card,
verbatim.
Note however, that the rarity of some cards is very much off, and I do not at
this time have the data to be able to share the true rarity of the cards. We
are working on that, but are awaiting the release of NASCAR Thunder 2003 so
that we get an accurate sample with all of the cards unlocked.
Any time a "/" is used in this FAQ it denotes the difference between bronze,
silver and gold information on the card. Thus a card that is good for
1 play as a bronze, 1 quarter as a silver, or 1 half as a gold will have
"P/Q/H" to denote play, quarter and half respectively. In the cases where
the variable by card type is a percentage, the percentages are listed.
Thus, a card that affects a given attribute by 25% as a bronze, 50% as a
silver, and 75% as a gold would be shown as 25/50/75% respectively. A "G"
represents "Game".
Note also that not all cards can be earned in packs. Some will only come as a
result of getting a gold in a mini camp. Some will only come as a reward for
beating a game situation. Some will only be available through another means.
We are currently working on this information but again are awaiting the
release of NASCAR Thunder 2003 so that we may test these with a proper sample.
Some of the cards have bugs. I have not had a chance to play test all of the
cards yet. I am certain there are more bugs out there. I have found some on my
own. Some of the information listed on this page may be incorrect. If you find
any new information or have a correction to make, feel free to contact us. Your
contribution helps others!
Paul Hanlin Jr has contributed the passerby cheat information, thanks!

Player Cards (#001 - #150)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Cards #1 - #150 are player's cards, and have a picture of the player on the
front; they come in bronze, silver or gold.
The backs of all the player cards all have the same explanation to them, except
for the career stats of the player the card belongs to. Those are not listed
here.
Rarity: 1 in 350/550/1200
Duration of affect: P/Q/H
Value if sold: 2/4/8
Power rating: 25/25/25
Card Description:
"Playing this card gives a 25% ratings
boost until the end of the current P/Q/H."

In theory this card will boost that player's stats by 25% for the
specified duration.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Cards #151-#205 are Historic Players cards.
Rarity: 1 in 1300
Duration of affect: Unlimited
Value if sold: 10
Power rating: 0
Card Description:
"[Player's name] will be added to the roster as a Free Agent."
Card Explanation:
It is unconfirmed that the player in question will be added to your franchise
roster. He will be given the age of 36, and his attributes will be optimized
to reflect the best he ever achieved in his NFL career. Yes, you have to pay
the player, and some are quite expensive. We are currently gathering that
information and will be adding it shortly. To the best of my knowledge,
Historic players retire via the same formula as other players do.

Duration of affect: Unlimited
Value if sold: 10
Power rating: 0
Card Description:
"[Player's name] will be added to the roster as a Free Agent."
Card Explanation: This card simply adds the musicians, primarily from Good
Charlotte, to your roster. Any time you start a new profile, you receive
enough tokens to purchase one pack of Madden Cards. The first pack of a new

those that are unlocked to the profile.

Cheat Cards (#206 - #231)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Cards #206-231 are Cheat Cards.
Rarity: 1 in 450/650/1300
Duration of affect: Varies, see specific card description
Value if sold: 3/6/12
Power rating: 25/50/75
Note: In the case of the cards locked via mini camp mode (the drills),
receiving a gold trophy in the specified drill unlocks the bronze version of
the card in Rookie mode, the silver in Pro mode, and the Gold in All-Pro mode.
Receiving a gold in the drill also earns you one of the corresponding card.
206. 1st and 5
--------------
Card Description: "When this card is played, your first down yards to go will
be set to five for 1 P/Q/H."
207. 1st and 15
---------------
Card Description: "This card requires your opponent to get 15 yards to reach
a first down for 1 P/Q/H.
208. 5th Down
-------------
Card Description: "When this card is played, you will get 5 downs to make a
first for 1 P/Q/H."
Note: Card #208 is bugged. If a player attempts to use a bronze version of
this card, it seems to have no affect. If someone knows has used the bronze
version of this card effectively, I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know how.
209. 3rd Down
-------------
Card Description: "When this card is played, your opponent will only get 3
downs to make a first for 1 P/Q/H."
210. Human Plow
---------------
Card Description: "When this card is played, your broken tackles will increase
by 25/50/75% for the game."
Note: This card is locked and can only be unlocked by receiving a gold trophy
in the Ground Attack drills.

------------
Card Description: "When this card is played, you will receive unlimited pass
range for 1 P/Q/H."
215. Lame Duck
--------------
Card Description: "When this card is played, your opponent will throw a lob
pass for 1 P/Q/H."
Note: This card is locked and can only be unlocked by receiving a gold trophy
in the Swat Ball drill.
216. Mistake Free
-----------------
Card Description: "When this card is played, you can't fumble or throw an
interception for 1 P/Q/H."
Note: This card is bugged. Although it happens rarely, a player can fumble
despite that this card has been played. In the instance that I had it happen,
it is possible that the fumble was not a "legitimate" fumble and would have
been over-turned by a review of the play, however I was out of challenges at
the time that this occurred.
217. Fumblitis
--------------
Card Description: "When this card is played, your opponent's fumbles will
increase by 25/50/75% for the game."
Note: This card is locked and can only be unlocked by receiving a gold trophy
in the Chase and Tackle drill.
218. Bingo
----------
Card Description: "When this card is played, your defensive interceptions will
increase by 25/50/75% for the game."
219. Unforced Errors

Card Description: "When this card is played, your opponent will fumble every
time he tries to juke for 1 P/Q/H."
220. Mr. Mobility
-----------------
Card Description: "When this card is played, your QB can't be sacked for 1
P/Q/H."
Note: This card is bugged. Although it happens rarely, your quarterback can be
sacked even if you play this card.
221. Extra Credit
-----------------
Card Description: "This card awards 2/3/4 points for every interception and
1/2/3 points for every sack."
Note: This card is locked and can only be unlocked by placing a save file from
EA's NCAA 2003 game onto the memory card.
222. Touchy
-----------
Card Description: "When this card is played, your opponent's penalties will
increase by 50% for 1 P/Q/H."
223. Bad Spot
-------------
Card Description: "When this card is played, the ref will spot the ball 1-2
yards short for 1 P/Q/H."

increase by 25/50/75% for the game."

increase by 25/50/75% for the game."
226. Pocket Protectors

increase by 25/50/75% for the game."
Note: This card is locked and can only be unlocked by receiving a gold trophy
in the Pocket Presence drill.

Card Description: "When this card is played, fieldgoal kicks will receive a
gust of wind in your favor for 1 P/Q/H."

_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
When looking at your player's ratings of speed, agility, and other categories,
have you ever wondered what each one does? This section provides an invaluable
look at what each category means. Now you can decide who to cut and who to
keep, without relying solely on the OVR rating for a player.
Thanks to Scott Taylor (Development Director of Tiburon - Electronic Arts), we
now know exactly what each category means. Very useful information. Thanks
also goes to SystemofaLetDown for finding this information on the IGN message
boards.
This information is directly from Scott Taylor. I've only formatted it and
reworded some confusing sections.

Chapter Twelve: Mini-Camp Strategy <ID#011>
_______________________________________________________________________________
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Mini-Camp is one of the big reasons that Madden NFL 2003 is better than Sega
Sports NFL2k3, and it is surely difficulty. Most of the challenges are no
problem on Rookie or Pro, but when you get to All-Pro or All-Madden, they can
become unbelievably tough. Consult this guide and work your way to unlocking
even the toughest cards.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How To Cheat
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you simply can't do this, you can always cheat. I don't reccommend it, but
you can quite easily cheat.
First, turn off Auto-Save. Next, save your rosters as CHEAT.
Go to your CHEAT rosters and edit any players that are involved in the
Mini-Camp. For example, to easily complete the Dallas Cowboys Rookie Ground
Attack game, edit Emmitt Smith's ratings to 99 and lower the Cowboys' defensive
players (Dat Nguyen and Roy Williams, the guys trying to stop Emmitt Smith).
Now the defense can't even touch Emmitt Smith as he runs for a lot of yards and
points. You should have no problem doing this or any other Mini-Camp if simply
adjust the appropriate players.
Now load the CHEAT rosters any time you want to cheat in Mini-Camp (because
they have altered abilities), and use the regular rosters any time you want to
play a normal, fair game.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ground Attack
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ROOKIE: Dallas Cowboys
Offense: Emmitt Smith, Robert Thomas
Defense: Dat Nguyen, Roy Williams
Reward: Human Plow Bronze
PRO: Washington Redskins
Offense: Stephen Davis, Bryan Johnson
Defense: Jeremiah Trotter, Darrel Green, David Terrell
Reward: Human Plow Silver
ALL-PRO: Cincinnati Bengals
Offense: Corey Dillon, Lorenzo Neal
Defense: Tadeo Spikes, Steve Foley, Lamont Thompson
Reward: Human Plow Gold
ALL-MADDEN: Chicago Bears
Offense: Anthony Thomas, Daimon Shelton
Defense: Rosevelt Colvin, Warrick Holdman, Mike Green
Mike Brown
Reward: Barry Sanders Historic Player Card
What you really have to do is use your stiff-arm techniques to perfection, in
addition to moving laterally.
Head through the open hole without using your speed burst while you're behind
or on the line of scrimmage. Wait until you've hit the hole, then use a well
timed stiff-arm to push one defender away. Hopefully your fullback can take
out one defender, leaving you with the others.
Before the defense tries to tackle you, cut down in the opposite direction,
away from direction the play was designed for. For example, if it was pitch
left, you'll want to start by crossing the line of scrimmage from the left,
but as a defender tries to tackle you, cut back right with a stiff arm; the
computer's defense doesn't make tackles too well while you're running laterally
across the field.
This is hard challenge to unlock Barry Sanders, but a good mix of stiff-arm
and speed bursts will hopefully help. Do not spend time running around behind
the line of scrimmage: you're simply killing the clock, and it's not worth
whatever yards, if any, you'll pick up.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Chase and Tackle
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ROOKIE: New Orleans Satins
Offense: Deuce McAllister
Defense:
Reward: Fumblitis Bronze
PRO: Pittsburgh Steelers
Offense: Jerome Bettis
Defense:
Reward: Fumblitis Silver
ALL-PRO: San Diego Chargers
Offense: LaDainian Tomlinson, Fred McCrary
Defense:
Reward: Fumblitis Gold
ALL-MADDEN: Baltimore Ravens

Defense:
Reward: ??? Historic Player Card

When it's time to party we will party hard
You, you work all night (all night)
And when you work you don't feel all right
And we,
We can't stop feeling all right (all right)
And everything is all right
'Cos we will never listen to your rules (no)
We will never do what others do (no)
Do what we want and we get it from you
Do what we like and we like what we do
So let's get a party going (let's get a party going)
Now it's time to party and we'll party hard (party hard)
Let's get a party going (let's get a party going)
When it's time to party we will always party hard
Party hard (party hard, party hard, party hard party hard,
party hard, party hard party hard, party hard, party hard...)
All right
You, you break the thing
And when you play you feel all right
But we, we can't stop feeling all right (all right)
And everything is all right
'Cos we will never listen to your rules (no)
We will never do what others do (no)
Know what we want and we get it from you
We do what we like and we like what we do
So let's get a party going (let's get a party going)
Now it's time to party and we'll party hard (party hard)
Let's get a party going (let's get a party going)
When it's time to party we will always party hard

Good Charlotte - The Anthem
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
(Yeah, here we go...)
It's a new day,
but it all feels old
It's a good life,
that's what I'm told
but everything,
it all just feels the same
At my high school, it felt more to me
like a jail cell,
a pennitentiary,
my time spent there,
it only made me sick
And I don't ever wanna be like you,
I don't wanna do the things you do,
I'm never gonna hear the words you say,
And i don't ever wanna,
I don't ever wanna be you,
don't wanna be just like you,
what I'm sayin is,
this is the Anthem, throw all your hands up
You,
Don't wanna be you
Go to college,
a university,
get a real job,
that's what they said to me
but I could never live the way they'd want
I'm gonna get by,
and just do my time
on a stepwall,
they all get in line
I'm just a minor guy obey'n your mind
Do you really wanna be like them,
do you really wanna be another trend
do you wanna be part of the drill,
cuz I don't ever wanna,
I don't ever wanna be you,
don't wanna be just like you,
oh what I'm sayin is,
This is the Anthem,
throw all your hands up,
You,
Don't wanna be you
Shake it once that's fine,
Shake it twice that's ok,
Shake it three times,
You're playin with yourself again
You,
Don't wanna be just like you,
what I'm sayin is,
this is the Anthem, throw all your hands up,
Ya'll have ta feel me,
sing if ya wit me
You, don't wanna be just like you, (be just like you)
this is the Anthem, throw all your hands up,
Ya'll have ta feel me,
sing if ya wit me

Yeah, haha Nappy Roots
Awwnaw!
[Hook]
Awnaw! Hell naw! Man
Y'all done up and done it
Awnaw! Hell naw! Boy
Y'all done up and done it
Awnaw! Hell naw! Boy
Y'all done up and done it
Ah, y'all done up and done it
Man y'all done up and done it
[Fish Scales]
My first song was like forty-eight bars with no hook
You hear me flippin thru my pages out my favorite notebook
The microphone was in the closet (What?) No headphones, we lost it
Niggas scared to get some water, roaches hangin over the faucets
No AC, Tez'll break a sweat just tryin to make beats
E-Dubz was being a hustler, (Heeeyy man!)
all play flirtin all his customers, and flat broke
Nappy smokin blacks out on the back po'ch
I'm thinkin I got everything a country boy could ask for
[Big V]
Now what we do to get here? (Say dat boy!!)
Lay it down and bring it to ya raw (Say dat boy!!)
Hey now we hurt some, suffered for more, takes what we work for
Hated for for the cussin, but the hatred it made us cuss more
Held on, but it was hard - stepped up, took charge
Ran thru what we scared up, but what was we afraid for?
Look what we made of, heart that what made us
Being here is alright, but MUST believe we won't fall!
Them country boys on the rise!
With them big fat wheels on the side!
Peep them vertical grills on the ride!
And aw-awww-awww-awwwww!
[Repeat Hook over this part]
Them country boys
With them big fat wheels
Peep the vertical grills
And awwwwwwww!
[Saan/Skinny DeVille]
My yegga, we hogwild, bet that from that roota to that toota-file
Hell naw, them country boys ain't headed south for six miles
Kentucky mud, them kinfolk, twankies with them hundred-spokes
Skullied on that front po'ch, plus you know they got 'dro
Seventy-nine coupe DeVille vertical Caddy grill
Interstate 65 headin down to Cashville
Glass filled, to the tippy-top, back-seat Benz
Spent my last cent on the rent, left with pocket lints
A damn shame, gotta grind anythang and everythang
Jimmy Crack Corn, cross the county line with Mary Jane
A long time, a gravel road, to cash and fame and sold my soul
To Hell and back, and back and forth, with same jeans and nappy 'fro
[R Prophit]
I might, hop off the Harley, spoke mine like Bob Marley
Not parties with charties, wallin like they swallowin Bacardi
Them butter-skin, Prophit gotta like them
Understand you 'bout to lose ya life fuckin with THEEEMM!
Them country boys on the rise!
With them big fat wheels on the side!
Peep the vertical grills on the ride!
And aw-awww-awww-awwwww!
[Repeat Hook over this part]
Them country boys
With them big fat wheels
Peep the vertical grills
And awwwwwwww!
Them country boys
With them big fat wheels
Peep the vertical grills
And awwwwwwww!
[Repeat]
Them country boys on the ride!
With them big fat wheels on the side!
Peep the vertical grills on the ride!
And aw-awww-awww-awwwww!
Them country boys
With them big fat wheels
Peep the vertical grills
And awwwwwwww!

Quarashi - Mr. Jinx
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Now it's your type o mad Jinx the mad sucker with a tail.
I've got my life worked up it ain't as cheap as one thinks.
I've got links on it, the same internet porn, ain't as deep as I've been now
I've got Justin in my corner.
I creep up but they don't want me back in you know my love is so big I think my
head is cracking, smacking my face and always giving me the baseline, dead in
a day's time, give back what's mine.
This ain't no rhyme about a junky on run another punk with a gun.
Now when you get it, meet the mad fun.
So get on your feet and get in pack with the deal the beats on the wheel, now
how do you feel.
The cool vibe from my lyrical solo I beat on your chest when I'm bouncing like
yo-yo.
This story is old just like the tales I've told. But mark my words it will turn
into gold.
All right, we've got it right all right. We've got it right all right. We've
got it right all right.
We dig around fanatics, tall and fallen manics and the planets breaking down
with god the only mechanic around, faking firm ground, fucking up the program
so now I'm working on my devious master plan. It's all about these crazy comic
reliefs you know Wooster and Jeeves and modern prophets you never believe, we
get them all on a bout leave out all the rules, the white pigeons, and sail the
ship of fools.
All right, we've got it right all right.
We've got it right all right.
We've got it right all right.

Audiovent - The Energy
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Every now and then I think about you
And it makes me, it breaks me
Out of you and into me, I'll make it
So take a look at what you do to my head
When you're leaving, I'm breathing
Out of me and into you, I feel sick
I feel sick
Now that you're leaving
It complicates our lives
But I am the reason
That I will stay alive
We are the energy
We are the same as you
Take everything you need
We are the answer to
The broken, breaking through
Take everything from me
Every now and then I dream about you
I've lost the feeling, it's dead skin
I will never be dependent again
And every now and then I think about you
It's bringing me closer to closure
Every now and then I know it's over
It's over
Now that you're leaving
It complicates our lives
But I am the reason
That I will stay alive
We are the energy
We are the same as you
Take everything you need
We are the answer to
The broken, breaking through
Take everything from me
We are the energy
We are the same as you
Take everything you need
We are the answer to
The broken, breaking through
Take everything from me
Cause I'm not dying
No I'm not dying
Today

The Epidemic - Walk Away
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
No time to register the words you say as I am stepping over
you and it's a sad state of affairs I don't even pretend
I'm not aware and turned cold
Walk away untouched I can't relate to anyone
try to be a humble man, a better son, a better friend, but
life gets in the way.
No time to register the shame I feel
as I try not to notice you and it's a sad state of affairs to ignore
this wrongness everywhere and turned cold.
Walk away untouched I can't relate to anyone
try to be a humble man, a better son, a better friend,
but life gets in the way.
It's the way we silence our senses,
a way to smother the impulse suffocate the senses, suffocate
the impulse we bury pain and tramp the dirt down.
Walk away untouched I can't relate to anyone
try to be a humble man, a better son, a better friend,
but life gets in the way.
Try to be a humble man, a better son, a better friend,
but life gets in the way.

OK GO - Get Over It
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Lot of knots, lot of snags,
lot of holes, lot of cracks lot of crags. Lot of naggin' old hags,
lot of fools, lot of fool scum bags.
Oh it's such a drag, what a chore... oh your wounds are full of salt.
Everything's a stress and what's more, well it's all somebody's fault.
Hey! Get over it!
Makes you sick, makes you ill,
makes you cheat, slipping change from the till.
Had it up to the gills... makes you cry while
the milk still spills. Ain't it just a bitch? What a pain...
Well it's all a crying shame. What
left to do but complain? Better find someone to blame.
Hey! Get over it!
Got a job, got a life, got a four-door and a faithless wife.
Got those nice copper pipes, got an ex, got a room for the night.
Aren't you such a catch?
What a prize! Got a body like a battle
axe... Love that perfect frown, honest eyes...
We ought to buy you a Cadillac.
Hey! Get over it!

Finally recover and the mood is right
Looking up into a neon sky
Child in me takes over, guess it's been too long
Since the last time that i tried to fly
Finally i find when i lose control
Inside my body crumbles
It's like therapy for my broken soul
Inside my body crumbles
All i need's a moment, chance to get away
From the stressfulness of every day
Know if i don't question and i never doubt
Everything is gonna be okay
Finally i find when i lose control
Inside my body crumbles
It's like therapy for my broken soul
Inside my body crumbles
I don't know if i'll be alright
Is it okay to be myself
Why do we always have to fight
Now i know it's alright
Finally i find when i lose control
Inside my body crumbles
It's like therapy for my broken soul

It seems like every day’s the same
and I’m left to discover on my own
It seems like everything is gray
and there’s no color to behold
They say it’s over and I’m fine again, yeah
Try to stay sober feels like I’m dying here
And I am aware now of how
everything’s gonna be fine one day
Too late, I’m in hell I am prepared now,
seems everyone’s gonna be fine
One day too late, just as well
I feel the dream in me expire
and there’s no one left to blame it on
I hear you label me a liar
‘cause I can’t seem to get this through
You say it’s over, I can sigh again, yeah
Why try to stay sober when I’m dying here
And I am aware now of how
everything’s gonna be fine one day
Too late, I’m in hell
I am prepared now,
seems everyone’s gonna be fine
One day too late; just as well
And I’m not scared now.
I must assure you,
you’re never gonna get away
And I’m not scared now.
And I’m not scared now. No…
I am aware now of how
everything’s gonna be fine one day
Too late, I’m in hell
I am prepared now
seems everyone’s gonna be fine
One day too late, just as well
I am prepared now,
seems everything’s gonna be fine for me
For me; for myself.
For me, for me, for myself
For me, for me, for myself
I am prepared now for myself

Jon Bon Jovi - Everyday
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
I used to be the kind of guy
Who'd never let you look inside
I'd smile when I was crying
I had nothing but a life to loose
Thought I had a lot to prove
In my life, there's no denying
Goodbye to all my yesterdays
Goodbye, so long, I'm on my way
I've had enough of cryin'
Bleedin', sweatin', dyin'
Hear me when I say
Gonna live my life everyday
I'm gonna touch the sky
And I spread these wings and fly
I ain't here to play
I'm gonna live my life everyday
Change, everybody's feeling strange
Never gonna be the same
Makes you wonder how the world keeps turning
Life, learning how to live my life
Learning how to pick my fights
Take my shots while I'm still burning
Goodbye to all those rainy nights
Goodbye, so long, I'm moving on
I've had enough of cryin'
Bleedin', sweatin', dyin'
Hear me when I say
Gonna live my life everyday
I'm gonna touch the sky
And I spread these wings and fly
I ain't here to play
I'm gonna live my life everyday
Hit the gas, take the wheel
I've just made myself a deal
There ain't nothing gonna get in my way
Everyday
Goodbye, so long, I'm moving on
I've had enough of cryin'
Bleedin', sweatin', dyin'
Hear me when I say
Gonna live my life everyday
I'm gonna touch the sky
And I spread these wings and fly
I ain't here to play
I'm gonna live my life everyday
I, oh I, oh I, I'm gonna live my life everyday
I (gonna touch the sky),
Oh I (spread these wings and fly), oh I
I'm gonna live my life everyday
