The Flash is an action-oriented platformer, with the titular character
Flash being able to jump over enemies, punch and kick them, and run extremely
fast. There are no puzzle characteristics to the game, making it extremely
linear, and it boils down to kill an enemy, run, kill another enemy, and run on
again.

Note that these are my own made-up names. As far as I know, there are no
official names for the techniques.
These two techniques consume energy, which is the big bar at the top of
the screen. The Flash Dash involves the Flash running at an extremely fast
speed, and can be done by pressing the A and B button at the same time along
with the directional button you wish to go in (Left or Right). For a couple of
parts of the game, using a Flash Dash is essential to make an extra long jump.
Flash Special attack is simply standing still and pressing and holding A
and B at the same time. The Flash will rotate around in a sort of awkward
kickboxing manner, kicking and hitting anyone on both sides of him at a fast
pace. This can be used to knock out thugs fairly quickly when they are getting
annoying.

Jumping
-------
Unlike what you may be used to in most games, jumping is incredibly
versatile, as the Flash can actually jump over the heads of most enemies and not
take contact damage. As you can imagine, if you do not care for Score, but
simply completing the game, then you can skip most enemies. There are, however,
a few foes who you cannot jump over, and must instead kill to continue - most
notable are some of the gunmen, and enemies on the ground in the train level.
Otherwise, it would be too easy to just blaze through the game.

Health Drops
------------
After you defeat each foe, they will drop a lightning bolt symbol. This
lightning bolt shall restore a little bit of health to the Flash, so be sure to
grab it when opportunity presents. This also leads to a bit of a one-two
argument: if you do not need any more healthy, you can just avoid fighting
enemies where possible, but if you do need it, you should try knocking off a few
to get your health back up. Black balls spread throughout the levels will also
give you health - beware, however, as at random some of the black balls will
instead explode, taking off a significant chunk of the Flash's health if he is
close by and gets caught in the blast radius.

Energy Bar and Dollar Coins
---------------------------
As you use the Flash Dash and Flash Special Attack, your energy bar gets
used up. To refill it, you must visit the various snack and food vending
machines that are littered across most of the levels. When you find one, you
must punch it to make food come out. This is where the dollar coins comes in
play - across the levels are $ signs, which you can pick up, and hold up to $9
at once. When you have money on you and punch a vending machine, you will
automatically insert up to $5 and get food in the process, which will refill
your energy.

Level One
---------
Knock over the stone pedestal at the beginning, then rush over and kick
the opponent to death. Climb up the stairs and kill another minion, and grab the
dollar symbol. Press the Up button on the D-Pad to jump over the gap between
platforms, and take out another pair of enemies as you go down the stairs. Go
left and break open the black ball for more Health. Continue on and break
another pillar to get past it. Jump up the creates to the second floor, then
jump onto the next platform and grab the $ sign. If you hit the Snacks machine
on the next platform, it will take your dollar coin and give you a chicken leg
to restore your energy (not your Health, but your energy).
Continue on going along the top, until you come to a staircase. Take the
stairs down, then progress along, taking out another henchman, and grab two
dollars. Once you get to a pit, jump over it. Head onto the nearby Snack
machine, kill the thug standing on top, then hop to the left. Use your super
speed (A + B + Left) to run down until you get all four dollar coins, then run
back (or walk if you have time to spare). Jump down the right side of the pillar
and knock the box open to end the first level.

Level Two
---------
Take out the first foe in your way, then climb up the ladder and punch
the pillar. Leap to the other side of the snack machine and grab a dollar coin.
Fall down to the ground to your right and walk past the stage, and break open
the black ball for some Health. Jump on top of the snack machine thereafter and
then onto some pipes for another dollar coin. Run to the end of the piping and
then leap over to the next platform. Break open the wall to continue on.
From there, hop over to the barrels, and drop down to get a dollar coin.
Continue along the floor jumping past the pit and taking out some thugs, and
break open the ball in the middle for some Health. Climb up the ladder after a
while for another dollar coin. Head down the second ladder and go to the snack
machine if you need any energy, then hop on top of the snack machine and jump to
the right onto some more pipes, which will have another black ball of Health.
Hop right onto a stage, then continue on right until you get to a ladder
and climb up. Proceed right to get a dollar coin, then jump onto the next
platform and obtain another dollar coin. Double back on the ground floor to get
two more dollar coins before running to a stage area. Kill the person up here,
and jump onto the pipe fixtures up above, and follow along until you can jump
right over a solid pillar. On the other side of the pillar, kncok the box to
finish up the level.

Level Three
-----------
Eliminate the first thug, then continue on right. When you get to a
staircase-ramp, take it up and go left to kill another minion and grab a dollar
coin. Continue on back right along the awnings and break open a black ball for
some Health, and head to the end of the roof. Break open the brick wall here,
and jump down onto some barrels and over a pit.
Take the dollar coin and continue on hopping right over more barrels,
and onto the second floor again. Take the ladder down for another dollar coin,
then proceed up the ramp to your right, and run along until you get yet another
dollar coin. Shortly afterwards, head down another ramp back down to the ground
floor, and progress right again, taking out some thugs on the way. Take a long
leap over the pit, then climb the ladder up before jumping over the pit.
Crouch on the ground once you make the leap to avoid some of the bullets
from the gunman, before taking him out. Head up to the roof, then jump over a
few gaps, getting a dollar coin on the way. Continue along, grabbing three more
dollar coins on a long length of roof, until you end up facing a gunman. Finish
him off before jumping down. Eliminate another pair of gunman before heading to
the end and breaking a box open to finish the level.

Level Four
----------
This is actually a curious variation on the typical levels you have
played so far. Unlike the previous three areas, in this one you will have to
chase after three trains. Start off by using your Flash Dash (A + B + Right) to
speed forward, and take out the first thug you see. As soon as you get to the
first train, jump on the part that connects the last two cars, then climb up the
side of the middle car. Rush over the roofs, beating up the thugs, then jump off
the front of the train and dash to the second train.
Climb up the second train and go over the top and jump off the second,
and repeat the whole action of getting to the third train. Once you get to the
end of the third train, you should find the box of dynamite. Punch the box to
disable it and finish the level up.

Level Five
----------
Clobber the first thug you see, then jump over the pit and take out the
next thug. Climb up the ladder and break open the ball. Destroy the pillar to
the left and hit the snack machine, as you should probably restore all the
energy you lost from the last stage. Grab the dollar coin, then head right and
go up the stairs for another dollar coin. Jump right to the next platform after
taking another minion out, and head down the stairs while continuing right.
Take a dollar coin from next to the couch, then hop up to the second
floor for a ball of Health. Head back down and jump across the gap (you may need
to do a Flash Dash first to build up momentum). Walk up the next staircase for
another dollar coin. Continue along the second floor, breaking open a wall where
necessary, and obtain some more money before finally heading down a staircase at
the end. Work your way past an annoying quartret of gunmen before you can
finally get to the bomb and finish the stage off.

Level Six
---------
Kill the first thug, then go up and grab your dollar coin. Jump back
down and go right to slay a gunman before jumping up. Visit the Snack machine if
you need to and grab some Health from the black ball before jumping up onto the
pipes and getting a dollar coin. Continue right down for another dollar coin and
drop down for another black ball, then head right on the ground floor. Get some
more health off the stage before facing one of the contortionist opponents
nearby. After you defeat him, break open the wall, and continue.
Jump up for another dollar coin and continue right along tbottom side,
getting another dollar coin and another black ball with Health inside. After,
run to the end, eliminating any enemies in your way, while grabbing another
Dollar coin and a black ball at the end. Once you get to the barrels, you can
double back on the second floor to grab some more money.
From the barrels, take out a gunman to your right and proceed onwards.
Jump to to the next section and go down to the bottom where the bomb is to
finish the level up.

Level Seven
-----------
Take out the first enemy in your way and then go up the ramp for a
dollar coin. Break through the wall and continue right, and jump onto the next
segment of the second floor. Break open a black ball for some Health and then
drop down directly to your left. Destroy the brick wall and jump over a pit to
kill a gunman. Climb up the ladder and jump over for a dollar coin. Go down the
stairs after and head left for another coin, then go right to kill a gunman and
break open a black ball. Jump over a few more pits with a dollar coin on the way
until you get to a snack machine. Grab a snack if you need to, then continue
hopping over more pits, breaking a few balls open for some Health. Head up the
stairs at the end onto the second floor and then jump over.
Take the ladder down and kill a few more henchmen, then proceed right.
Slay another gunman before he can do too much damage, and continue running along
the ground, grabbing some more money oand health balls. Jump over some more pits
and slay another gunman at the end. From the end, climb up and take out a few
more foes, then head back left along the second floor to break open the bomb and
end the level.

Level Eight
-----------
Level Eight is similar to Level Four, another train level.
Start off by using your Flash Dash (A + B + Right) to speed forward, and
take out the first thug you see. As soon as you get to the first train, jump on
the part that connects the last two cars, then climb up the side of the middle
car. Rush over the roofs, beating up the thugs, then jump off the front of the
train and dash to the second train.
In this level, there will only be two trains, however the second train
will have six cars that you must cross. At about the third or fourth car, you
will have to kill a gunman, so watch out for him. On the second-to-last car, you
shall have to dodge gunfire from the last car while killing an obnoxiously tough
thug. After taking him out, eliminate the gunman on the last car before finally
disarming the bomb.

Level Nine
----------
Grab a snack to refill your lost energy from the train level, then jump
up to the second floor via the vending machine. Head right and down the ladder
and jump over the pit. Ignore the second ladder and continue over some more
pits, grabbing a health ball on the way. Once you get to a staircase and a
ladder, continue along on the ground, and take the next staircase. Grab a dollar
coin from the left side, then go up the stairs and jump onto the second floor
(you will need to use your Flash Dash).
Continue right, grabbing some dollar coins and health balls and
eliminating a few thugs if you must, and finish off a gunman at the end before
going down the staircase. Jump over another pit, and you will come to Captain
Cold. Jump over the pit and use your Special attack (A+B) automatically until he
falls. Break open the wall and go up the ladder, then knock the box over.

Level Ten
---------
Break open the wall at the start and jump over the pit for a dollar.
Head right past the stage and garage door, beating up random thugs on the way.
After the spotlight over the garage door, jump onto the small stone object and
use it to leap up to the pipes above. Head right and jump over the white pillar
at the end of the pipes. Drop down to the floor below and break a stone block to
continue on. Jump back onto the second floor via the pipes, and drop down after
you get past the barrels.
From here, continue walking along the ground, grabbing dollar coins and
Health from the black balls all the way, and take out a caped thug partways
through. After killing the gunman, climb up the stack of barrels and drop down
to the side of the first floor (make sure not to fall in the pit - stick right
to the side of the barrels). Jump over and break the wall down, then take out
the bottom gunman. Exterminate two more gunmen or try to skip over them entirely
on the way to the top, and disarm the bomb to end the level.

Level Eleven
------------
Start by going right and grabbing the dollar coin before jumping over
the pit. Jump up from the snack machine to grab a dollar coin, then continue
along the ground floor, grabing some coins. Head up at the next snack machine to
grab another dollar coin, then drop back down. Cross the pit to kill a gunman
and continue along the bottom side. Go grab a Health ball from the ramp at the
left side before continuing along across some more pits.
Climb up a ladder after kililng a gunman and go down the staircase at
the end. Cross out into the nightsky wilderness and eliminate some more minions
as you cross some more pits. Around this time, make sure that you have a full
Energy bar, as the next level will be another train level. Take the bottom route
as opposted to the top route to avoid one of the caped enemies, and grab some
coins and dollar bills on your way heading right. After a while, head up another
ramp and fall down to where the box is.

Level Twelve
------------
This will be the last train level in the game. In Level Twelve, the bomb
for the area will be at the end of a third train, not a second train. Depending
on how much energy you have, you could probably try making it to the third train
with your Flash Dash; however, if you do not have near to a full Energy Bar, I
would not recommend trying it, as you will have to constantly catch up after
killings thugs on the ground. Instead, try to make it to the second train, and
then make your way over to the front.
Once you get to the third train, be careful as you make your way over,
as the last car will have one of the gunmen who moves around and tosses grenades
about. Kill him as you shall be unable to jump over him, then disarm the bomb to
move on to the last level.

Level Thirteen
--------------
In the final area, start by eliminating the caped contortionist who will
come straight at you. You can also try pushing him back and knocking him off the
right side of the screen. After you are done, climb up the ladder on the right
end of the screen, and head left to run into another caped attacker. You can
push him back as well and then climb up the ladder if you do not wish to fight
him.
Head up two more ladders and take out one last, third contortionist.
After you defeat him, the pillar in the middle of this hallway will spring away
to reveal a ladder. Take it up to the fifth floor. Punch the three objects
sitting on the pedestals to the left and then break the wall to the right before
disarming the bomb.
