The controls for this game are as follows:
A - Jump.
B - Punch/kick, or hold to use webbing.
Select - Not Used.
Start - Pauses the game.
Down - Crouch, or drop down from swinging on webs.

(C) ADVANCED CONTROLS

High Jump - If you jump while walking, Spidey will jump MUCH higher than usual.

These restore some health when collected.
[Web Fluid]
This looks like a rectangular object and gives you more web fluid.
Also any of the items that appear from defeated enemies MUST be picked up
before they hit the ground, otherwise they are destroyed.

Bricklayer J. Gastronomy
There is a bar at the bottom of the screen which is very helpful. It shows
your health, number of lives you have, how much webbing you have left, the
health of any boss you're fighting and shows your score.
Once you've use up three continues the game ends.
======================
Stage 01: The Alleyway
======================
Head right and beat up a group of five thugs as you collect some web fluid from
the fourth. Now jump ON to the manhole to take out the lizard below, he shows
up like this at every manhole in the stage.
Jump over the boxes ahead as you kill a thug and lizard, then continue right to
see a thug in the window with a bat. Carefully time your jump past him between
his swings, then duck the bullets of the thug up ahead. Carefully jump over
the dumpster while jumping the bullets, then jump over the thug and use a
crouching kick on him.
Grab the burger from the left window if you need it, then take out the lizard
and use a high jump to get over the boxes. Quickly run past the thug in the
window as you continue right past another window thug.
Take out the lizard and thug as you grab his web fluid, then head right to the
dumpster as you crouch some bullets. Carefully jump over the dumpster and
bullets as you take out the thug from behind, then jump over the boxes and
ignore the window thug.
Head right and beat up the thug for his web fluid, then grab the burger from
the window above if you need it. Approach the manhole to lure a thug to you,
then beat him and the lizard. Continue right to beat another lizard and thug,
then hop over the box while avoiding a window thug and grabbing a burger up
high if you need it.
Do a high jump over the boxes while avoiding another window thug, then jump the
nearby bullets and grab the burger in the window if you need it. Jump over the
thug up ahead that's shooting at you, then rush right past the window thug
before killing a lizard. Continue right to reach the end of the alleyway and
the boss for the stage.

Boss: Mysterio
--------------
When the battle starts you just need to dodge a stream of fire that bounces
around the screen. It's pretty easy to dodge and you may need to jump over it
the odd time but you shouldn't suffer any serious damage.
For the next part of the battle Mysterio teleports to a location and throws an
arcing shot before teleporting again. The fiery field around him can hurt you
when he teleports in or out of a location so try to hit him when the field is
down.
Your punches and kicks deal a lot of damage but you can also use web if you
want to play things safe or if you're low on health.

Stage 02: To The Rooftops
=========================
In this stage you need to climb up a wall to reach the rooftops. However there
are window thugs and falling pumpkin bombs to make your life difficult.
The thugs are easily spotted and avoided [or punched by using the B button],
but for the bombs you need to watch out for Spiderman's spidey sense. This is
indicated by some wavy lines around his head and when you see them you need to
quickly get out of the way of a falling bomb.
This section is pretty straightforward though you just crawl around the thugs
on your way up and watch for bombs so you can dodge past them. As you climb
higher the bombs fall faster, but this section is still pretty easy. Once you
can't climb any higher a window opens on your left with the word "IN". Crawl
below that window, then hold up and jump to end this stage.

Stage 03: The Rooftops
======================
Head right and beat up four thugs to get some web fluid, then jump to the next
roof and kill a thug. Take a [running] high jump over the next gap and use web
if you want to swing across. Head right and kill the thug that drops from the
sky [where'd he drop from anyway you're on a roof!?], then jump to the next
roof.
Head right and kill another airborne thug, then walk right to the edge and jump
some bullets as you jump the gap and kill the shooter. Head right and kill the
thug that drops behind you, then grab his web fluid before jumping the gap.
kill the shooter ahead for more web fluid, then head right and kill another
shooter than drops behind you for even more web fluid. Carefully jump the gap
and kill the nearby shooter, then continue right as two thugs drop down. Make
short work of them and head right to the edge, then kill the thug that drops
behind you.
Jump the gap and kill a shooter, then continue right and kill a thug before
jumping the gap. Kill another shooter and head right as you kill about six
thugs, then jump off the edge and use your web to swing to the next roof.
Kill the shooter here and use a HIGH JUMP to reach the next roof, otherwise
you'll lose a life. Kill the shooter for some web fluid as you head right,
then swing over to the next roof. Kill the thug that drops down ahead, then do
a high jump and use your web to safely swing to the next roof.
Continue right and kill the final shooter of the stage as a boss battle starts.

Boss: Hobgoblin
---------------
Hug the right side of the screen as Hobgoblin drops his bombs, then run to the
left edge and do a crouching kick before he drops down. If you're too late
though you can face right and keep doing crouching kicks until he flies into
one from that side of the screen.
If you keep this up as the pattern repeats you should have a ridiculously easy
time winning this fight.

Stage 04: The Subway
====================
Use crouching kicks to get rid of the pair of shooters, then head right and
kill four bats. Continue right and kill another four bats as some more swoop
down harmlessly above, then kill another group of four before using a high jump
to reach some burgers [three are available to collect].
Crouch under the wall and kill 2 groups of bats, then duck under a wall and
some swooping bats. Kill another group of bats and three shooters, then duck a
group of bats before killing the next group. Kill yet another group of bats
and use a high jump to reach the nearby burger, then kill another group of bats
and high jump up to a second burger.
Duck under the swooping bats and the wall, then kill some bats and duck under
another wall. Kill two more groups of bats as you duck under another wall,
then head right to meet the boss.

Boss: Scorpion
--------------
This boss drops down from above and attacks at close range with his tail, then
his pattern repeats. Since you're likely to have a LOT of web fluid right now,
I recommend just standing back and using your web to kill the boss.
Regardless of the method that you choose it shouldn't take long at all if you
keep moving.
======================
Stage 05: Central Park
======================
Make a note of the spiked bomb in the trees above you, it falls when you come
close to the bomb. You can either run through without hesitation, or walk
close enough that the bomb starts to fall before backing up a little.
Either way kill the lizard and avoid another bomb before killing the bird on
the ground. Kill a pair of lizards ahead while avoiding a couple of bombs,
then kill a thug and lizard. Avoid the bomb and kill a thug for his web fluid,
then continue right to a stump.
Carefully jump the stump and the shooter's bullets, then avoid the bombs above
as you kill him. Go right and avoid some more bombs and bullets as you kill
another shooter, then use a high jump to get over a stump and past a bomb. Go
right past a bomb and lizard, then use a high jump to continue right past a
lizard, thug and bomb.
Jump the stump and kill the thug that drops in, then head right past a bomb and
shooter. Kill a lizard and high jump over the stump, then go past a trio of
bombs while you kill a lizard. Head right to kill a couple of thugs and avoid
a pair of bombs, then dodge the nearby shooter's bullets before jumping the
stump and killing him for some web fluid.
Kill the lizard and the shooter beyond, then head right and beat another
shooter. Kill a lizard and thug as you head right, then continue that way to
reach the boss.

Boss: Rhino
-----------
Your webs are useless in this battle because they bounce right off Rhino so
don't waste them.
Instead you should stand near the middle of the screen and jump over Rhino as
he charges at you. Now quickly run up to him and punch him before repeating
the pattern all over again. If you keep this up the battle shouldn't last
long.

Stage 06: To The Rooftops
=========================
This stage is just like stage 02, except that this time the thugs in the
windows have guns to fire at you with as well as baseball bats. Also you need
to deal with the birds that fly past the building every so often.
Remember that you can use the B button to punch at any time, which certainly
helps you get rid of the thugs. You could also climb diagonally to avoid their
shots and the birds, but I find punching them works best.
Otherwise there's not a whole lot to this stage and you just need to climb to
the top like the other climbing stage before jumping into the window that says
"IN".

Stage 07: The Rooftops
======================
Head right and carefully use a high jump to cross the gap, then continue right
and jump the next gap without hitting your head on the ledge above you. Ignore
the window thugs to your right as you approach the gap and lure a bird past
you, then use a high jump and your web to swing over the gap.
Quickly attack the bird and window thug before they hit you, then carefully
jump to the next ledge and attack another bird. Jump to the next ledge and
quickly run to the right side of it to avoid a thug's bat, then attack the bird
and jump the next gap.
Quickly crouch to avoid the thug's bat, then attack two birds to your right
before using your webbing to swing across the large gap. Use the B button to
kick about five birds on your way over, otherwise you're going to fall to your
death.
Carefully jump the gap before killing a window thug and bird, then jump the
next gap and head right while beating two more birds and a window thug. Jump
the next gap and take out a bird, then use your webbing to swing across the gap
while kicking five birds.
Jump the gap and head right to lure a bird past you, then use a high jump to
land on the falling platform on your right. Quickly jump back left before you
ride it all the way down, then use your webbing to swing across the gap.
You'll likely land on the lower platform and it's impossible to continue right
from here [without losing a life] because you'll hit your head and fall to your
death. However, you can do a high jump left and then pull right at the height
of the jump to land on the platform above you.
Once here you can take out the window thug and grab the burger as you jump the
gap. Jump right and back left to lure a bird, then use your webs to swing
across the gap and kick nine birds on the way. Head right to the gap and jump
out and back to lure a pair of birds, then swing across on your webs as you
kick another four birds.
Head right and beat a window thug before using a high jump to reach the ledge
above you, then beat another window thug and head right as the nearby platform
falls to reach the stage boss.

Boss: Doctor Octopus
--------------------
This boss is not very fair at all because he doesn't really give you a chance
to do any serious damage to him.
Basically he walks left and right on the lower ledge attacking with his arms.
He can also turn around at any moment, so you need to be ready to run as well
if you choose to use punches and kicks on him.
I recommend using your webs on this boss because you're likely to have a lot,
and although they do a pretty small amount of damage to the boss it eventually
adds up.
Whenever the boss is getting close to your side of the ledge you should use a
high jump to reach the ledge above. This is easier to do on the left side of
the ledge because you won't hit your head, but it is possible on both sides.
I find it works best to wait on the right end of the upper ledge to lure the
boss as far right as possible, then quickly drop down to the left side and use
2-4 web shots on him before returning to the upper ledge. If you repeat this
pattern until you run out of web, then you should be in a MUCH better position
to win the fight with your punches and kicks while keeping your lives and
continues.

Stage 08: The Sewer
===================
You walk through some water in this stage and it slows you down, so don't
forget to jump as you travel through this stage if you want to move faster.
However I find this stage to be the hardest of the game, because there are many
instances where I found it impossible to avoid taking damage [although you can
make it a little easier by using your webs to take out the shooters]. Add a
very hard boss battle into the mix and you'll get an idea of the frustration
that you're in store for. Good luck! You'll need it. ;)
Head right and drop into the water while avoiding the shooter's bullets, then
crouch and kill the alligator to your left. head right a little to get the
shooter to drop down, then take him out for some web fluid. Go right and kill
an alligator, then continue right and kill another alligator on your left.
Watch the falling trash as two chunks fall, then two quicker chunks. At this
point there should be a pause that lets you safely get past. Take out an
alligator to your right, then carefully pass by the trash and the bullets of
the nearby shooter.
Quickly kill the alligator on your left, then head right and kill the dropping
shooter. Ignore the ledge on your right as you kill another alligator, then
continue right past the bullets before killing a nearby shooter. Pass by the
falling trash while killing a trio of alligators, then jump to the next ledge
and carefully pass the trash and bullets of the shooter.
Carefully pass the falling trash and kill an alligator, then kill a pair of
alligators and a shooter as you jump to the next ledge. Avoid the nearby trash
while taking out a shooter and a pair of alligators, then avoid some more trash
as you cross the ledge and kill more shooters and alligators.
Kill a pair of shooters and some more alligators as you pass the next short
ledge, then kill an alligator on your right and another on your left as you
pass some trash and bullets. Kill an alligator and the shooter as he drops,
then pass some trash and kill the alligator that approaches from the left.
Jump onto the ledge above and use your webs to take out the shooter, then pass
some trash and kill an alligator on either side of you. Kill an alligator on
your left and another on your right as you pass some more trash, then head
right as you kill a final alligator and start the boss battle.

Boss: Venom
-----------
For this battle Venom rides his web up and down on either edge of the screen
while firing web shots at you.
I have not found any easy way to beat him [although I found jump kicks mildly
effective] because your punches, kicks and web shots ALL to a pitiful amount of
damage to Venom. I recommend only attacking Venom on the left side of the
screen once you're out of web, because you leave yourself open to more attacks
when attacking him on the other side.
However if you have a lot of lives and continues left over and you use up your
web from a safe distance before attacking at close range you should pull
through.
After the battle you can watch the terrible ending and put yourself through
playing the game again...or not.
